2 Paramedics Share the Biggest Car Seat Safety Mistake All Parents Should Know About
Between Krystal Kleidon and her husband, they have twenty years of roadside experience as paramedics. During this time, they've seen every type of car accident imaginable, and as they prepare to move their 4-year-old into a new car seat, they wanted to share the most important thing about car seat safety that they've learned from their eye-opening experience.
"I'm a member of a lot of mothers groups and communities and the discussion around car seats is ALWAYS a heated one," Krystal shared on her Facebook page, Project Hot Mess. "People give their opinions on rear facing vs forward facing, side seat vs middle seat, chest clip height, straps, wearing jumpers… if there's something to have an opinion on, it has been discussed before."
The Devastating Difference Between Car Seats That Left 1 Girl Unharmed and Her Sister Almost Dead
However, none of that is what made a difference for the "mangled" car seats that Krystal and her husband have come across after devastating accidents. "While we know the science and research backs up our opinions, that's not what we are sharing here," she wrote. "We wanted to share what we have seen and experienced in our job."
Krystal explained that she knows first-hand that when you find out that you're gong to be a parent, how you spend countless hours researching "the best" car seat for your child, but none of what you read is what matters most:
You look for safety features, star ratings, and reviews and fret over if you can afford the best. But, it doesn't matter how much money you spend on a car seat if you DON'T strap your child in.
Between my husband and I, in our 20 years experience, we have NOT seen a single child harmed in a car accident where the child was restrained in their seat properly. Not a single one.
We've seen car seats ejected from vehicles, we've seen cars that have rolled over so many times you can barely tell which way is up, we've seen accidents where you would be certain there would be no survivors.
But in our experience, the biggest difference between a child's safety hasn't been if they were in the $600 car seat or the $200 one. It's been about those straps.
The next time you put your child in his or her car seat, Krystal wants you to consider how tight you're making the straps or if they are loose enough to pull their own arm out. Or if your child is wearing a puffy jacket that's keeping him or her from being properly restrained. "Would you be confident in doing THIS to them? Would you be confident in turning your child upside down in their seat?" she captioned the photo of her flipped child. "Car seats have incredible safety designs now, they are designed to cocoon your child, protect them as they roll and are thrown around in an accident. But they can only do this if your child is restrained properly."
So before ever closing the door after bucking your little one into his or her car seat, Krystal hopes you ask yourself a question each and every time: "Would I be confident in turning them upside down in their seat right now?"
Buzz Aldrin's Reactions to Donald Trump Talking About Space Are Everything
President Donald Trump attempted to shift the media narrative last week by signing an executive order reviving the National Space Council and kick-starting the exploration of what he termed the "next great American frontier." Unfortunately for the president, legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin - the second man to ever walk on the moon - completely stole the show. While signing the order, Trump took a couple of minutes to share some further thoughts about the decision to bring the program back. Aldrin, who was standing next to Trump during the ceremony, couldn't hide the range of emotions he went through over the course of the remarks. And luckily for us, they were all caught on camera for posterity.
The internet, of course, had a field day with both Trump's bizarre commentary about space exploration and the astronaut's legendary facial expressions. Here, we've pulled together some of the very best social buzz - which, likely to the White House's dismay, doesn't really have much to do with the executive order itself at all.

The Mini Version of Your Favorite Designer Bag Is Calling Your Name
I've always been a fan of small bags (shout out to my Givenchy Antigona mini!). I'm aware most of them can only hold the essentials: phone, wallet, keys, and, if I'm lucky, a water bottle. It's a challenge to downsize, for sure, but for the most part I love miniature bags because I don't feel like I'm dragging a dead weight around. Plus, my shoulder needs a break every now and then from my work tote.
But these pint-size designer offerings aren't just practical, they have another perk too: they're usually a few hundred dollars cheaper. For those on a budget, investing in the mini version of your dream bag is not only smart but efficient. You're basically getting the same style for less, and mini bags are infinitely cuter. Don't believe us? Just check out some of the micro options ahead.
If You Have Nut Allergies, You Need to Know About This Clif Bar Recall
The company behind the popular Clif protein bars is voluntarily recalling three products over nut allergy concerns. On July 5, the Food and Drug Administration announced that the company would be recalling the Clif Builder's Protein Bar in Chocolate Mint, the Clif Kid Zbar Protein Bar in Chocolate Mint, and the Clif Kid Zbar Protein Bar in Chocolate Chip.
According to the press statement, the three bars do not disclose the possible presence of almonds, walnuts, cashews, and several other nuts. After a reportedly small number of consumers complained about having an allergic reaction, Clif Bar decided to proactively recall the affected products. That being said, the bars are absolutely safe for people who do not have any nut allergies.
If you have a nut allergy and encounter one of the potentially problematic bars, Clif Bar is instructing consumers to immediately return the product for a full refund or exchange. For more information on the recall, read the FDA's full press statement.
No, Black Women Aren’t “Hysterical” - We’re Just Fighting to Be Heard
When Senator Kamala Harris was called "hysterical" by a former Donald Trump campaign adviser on CNN, reporter Tanzina Vega invited other women of color to share their own stories of being dismissed, belittled, or demeaned. The responses poured in. In them, I found comfort and familiarity. Although I didn't know the women behind the Twitter handles, I felt a solidarity with my fellow sisters who have been disrespected based on their gender and race.
Not to play in the Oppression Olympics, but being both a woman and a woman of color, I have had to deal with both - all of my life.
In my seventh grade home economics class, due to the fact that my favorite teacher was on maternity leave, a substitute teacher was tasked with grading our scrapbooks. In these books, we were supposed to detail where we saw ourselves as adults. We all knew our final grade was hinging on the extent of our creativity. I may have been a bit cocky, but I knew I was going to knock it out of the park. When our scrapbooks were handed back, I found I'd earned a 99 out of 100.
When I turned to the last page, a note from the substitute informed me I was docked a point because my scrapbook was "unrealistic." When I asked for her to explain, she stated in full detail that someone like me couldn't own a company, because "my people" didn't own companies. I opened my mouth to rattle off the accomplishments of my hero Oprah, but before I could get out the "O," she cut me off and claimed Oprah was the exception to the rule. Oprah was "lucky." I had never felt more ashamed because I didn't push further. I didn't speak up.
That's where the strong, black women in my life came in: my mother, Grams, and Aunt. They wouldn't allow the injustice to go unnoticed. They encouraged me to speak up, to push back. That night, at home, we plotted. The final consensus was that I would research and list the profession, racial background, and net worth of people of color who were millionaires and owned companies. By the end of the night, due to my overachieving personality, I had listed 100 names, to represent the 100 she did not give me. The next day, I placed the paper on the substitute's desk, looked her in the eye, and stated that I alphabetized a list of not just my people - who are African Americans, if she wasn't aware - but people of color from various backgrounds who owned their own companies. I also added that she wasn't the authoritative voice to deem whether my dreams were valid or not.
Of course I was terrified. I hate confrontation. But the shame that I felt from the day before pushed me. From that moment on, I decided that I never wanted to feel ashamed for the color of my skin or who my people were. Because even though I am a product of lost history, my story does not begin with slavery or end with the Civil Rights movement. I was almost kicked out of the class that day. The substitute told my teacher that I was combative, aggressive, and should have been suspended for my insubordination. But I still got the 100. Because I worked hard for it.
I'm 22 now. Whether it's being conscious of the way I dress as a fuller-figured woman in academic and corporate settings or the high pitched lilt of my Long Island "accent," I am constantly aware of how people might perceive me as a black woman. I even have to watch the tone of my voice so I sound authoritative. (Hello, uptalking!) But that is when being a woman of color comes into play and presents me with a quandary. Seriously: how can I channel being a girl boss and lean in without being labeled an Angry Black Woman because of the tone of my voice? As a black woman, the reality is that I am not allowed to be a girl boss or lean in the same spaces without my every move being dissected. But I refuse to let that keep me from speaking up and taking charge when it is warranted.
Back when I was in the seventh grade, it was the black women who surrounded me who made me grow the confidence to be assertive in the professional and academic aspects of my life today, even when others may not view me in that light. That is why women like Senator Kamala Harris are so important not only to my generation but to generations of women who will pass the torch to the next. I've known black women like Senator Harris all of my life - women who speak up, talk back, challenge power, and most importantly make noise! And while some might attempt to write us off as hysterical, guess what? We can never be silenced.
All of Sofia Vergara's Best Red Carpet Looks Have This Detail in Common
Sofia Vergara knows when she's found a good thing, and she sticks with it. The Modern Family actress has a signature red carpet style she's been loyal to for years - we've found evidence of her love for this silhouette dating back to 2012. Her beloved fashion pick: the mermaid gown, tight around her waist, then loose at the bottom around her legs and feet.
It should be pretty obvious why Sofia loves to wear this type of dress to award shows. The formfitting bodice highlights her curves and tiny waist, while the loose skirt allows her to walk the red carpet without any trouble. It truly is the best of both worlds. Boy Dies From Drowning a Week After He Went Swimming in Knee-Deep Water
The tragic, startling effects of "dry drowning" took the life of a 4-year-old boy in Texas a week after he went swimming.
Francisco Delgado Jr., who took his son Frankie and the rest of his family to the Texas City Dike near Galveston over Memorial Day weekend, told KHOU News that it was a typical day and that Frankie was fine when he got out of the water.
Shortly afterwards, Frankie began to have symptoms that resembled a stomach bug. For days, he had bouts of vomiting and diarrhea, and a week later, he stopped breathing.
"Out of nowhere, he just woke up. He said ahhh," Delgado said. "He took his last breath and I didn't know what to do."
He called 911 but doctors weren't able to revive him. They told the family that Frankie had fluid in his lungs and around his heart - that he died from dry drowning.
It seemed impossible - mom Tara Delgado said he was only in knee-deep water. The parents now suspect Frankie must have swallowed water, but they never noticed Frankie coughing or in distress, which are often crucial indicators that someone has accidentally inhaled a small amount of water through the mouth or nose, causing their airway to spasm. It's a devastating reminder for parents to always keep watch over their children in the pool, as they could possibly miss the warning signs.
"There are no words to describe how heartbroken we are over the passing of Baby Frankie," the family wrote on their GoFundMe page, which is raising money for the unexpected funeral costs. "He had so much life to live."

Meghan Markle's Airport Shoes Were Designed to Make You Look Twice
It's confirmed: Meghan Markle's a J.Crew gal. The Suits actress touched down in Austin, TX, in a travel outfit almost entirely composed of classics from the brand. She wore a white button-down and sunglasses from the retailer, and finished off the look with a pair of blue jeans with rips at the knee. She toted around Ghurka luggage.
Meghan's J.Crew shoes, however, were the most eye-catching of all. The leather lace-up sandals (which you can still shop for $88) provided a casual, preppy touch to her polished ensemble. We can easily see fashion girls pairing these with a dress or cut-offs for Summer. You can basically buy Meghan's entire airport look below.
A No-Sew Guide to Making Your Clothes Fit Better
We may qualify as full-grown "adults," but we still enjoy avoiding extra work when there's an easier, less complicated option. Why do math when there's a calculator on your phone? Why stand up and get the remote when you can grab it with your foot? And really, why take a trip to the tailor when there are so many fashion hacks to try, ones that'll make your clothes fit better ASAP?
That's right: there are plenty of quick, supereasy ways to tighten, hem, and cinch oversize pieces, none of which involve a needle and thread (or an awkward measuring process). Read through to find the solution you're looking for. Then, discover a few creative ways to cuff your jeans.
Kylie Jenner's Genius New Ink Shows How to Deal With a Tattoo For Your Ex
Breakups suck. You have to give each other back your respective stuff, try not to snoop on their new boo thang's social media (NEVER a good idea), figure out what to do with your tattoo of their name . . . OK, maybe that last one only applies to Kylie Jenner. You see, back in December 2016, Kylie got a cute lil "t" tattooed on her left ankle. It stood for Tyga, of course, but they broke up in April.
Later, Jenner started dating Travis Scott. And then they got matching butterfly ankle ink in June. Ah, to be young and in love!
While out in London, Kylie showed off her newest piece of ink, which should look somewhat familiar. That's because Kylie went and changed the "t" for Tyga to a cursive "L.A." It's hard not to compare this to Johnny Depp's iconic "Wino Forever" tattoo (which he got back in 1994 - three years before Kylie was born!). But this is a much more delicate, modern update. It's also a genius way to recycle ink. Props to Kylie for being so resourceful. Relationships come and go, but the 310 love lasts a lifetime.

The Brilliant Way Ryan Reynolds Helped a Teen Get Revenge on Her Ex
There are many reasons why we love Ryan Reynolds. He's talented, attractive, an amazing father and husband, but he's also incredibly hilarious on social media. On Wednesday, the actor took a break from filming Deadpool 2 to help a young teen named Gabi Dunn get get over a breakup. "My boyfriend and I broke up a few days after prom, so I decided to 'edit' the photos a little @VancityReynolds," the 18-year-old tweeted alongside two impressively photoshopped images of her with the actor. In true Ryan Reynolds form, he responded by writing, "We should photoshop me over his yearbook picture next. #DontMessWithGabi." Nothing like a sick burn from your favorite actor to help mend the wounds of a broken heart.

A Representative Who Doesn't Get How Sex Works Wonders Why Men Should Pay For Prenatal Care
Another day, another congressman who's "pro-life" but doesn't believe in paying for prenatal or maternity care. Representative Pete Olson of the 22nd district in Texas recently went on a radio show and pondered the question of why men should pay for "coverage [they] can't use." Not only does Olson probably need to go back to school and learn a lesson or two on biology and how reproduction works, but he's also a hypocrite when it comes to the sanctity of life.
In an interview on the Sam Malone Show on June 23, Olson spoke about the Senate's healthcare bill, The Better Care Reconciliation Act. Olson had "some problems" with the bill, including that it "still guarantee[s] coverage for 10 essential conditions." Olson's referring to one of the requirements in the Affordable Care Act, which makes insurance plans cover 10 essential conditions, including prenatal and maternity care. Olson laughed about it and said, "We have what's called an X chromosome . . . which means we can't have a baby. Why do we have to pay for that coverage we can't use?" You can listen to a clip of the moment around the 0:57 mark ahead.
NARAL Pro-Choice America tweeted about the incident and pointed out one important critical fact Olson got wrong: it's the Y chromosome that doesn't let men have children, not the X. Of course, the other contradiction in Olson's message is that he claims to be pro-life but doesn't appear to have any regard for pregnant mothers. Think that's all Olson got wrong? Nope. The new Senate healthcare bill would allow states to waive these essential benefits, anyway.

16 Must-Follow Meal-Prep Tips For Weight Loss
Since losing weight is so much about what you eat, not how much you exercise, planning out your week's meals and snacks is absolutely essential to your success. Unfortunately, we're not talking about making an enormous batch of mac and cheese. If you're looking to slim down and eat healthier, certified dietitian Leslie Langevin, MS, RD, CD, of Whole Health Nutrition shares these tips for Sunday meal planning.
- Plan out every meal and snack so there's no wiggle room: Make sure each meal includes protein, carbs, fiber, and healthy fats, and all snacks should have at least two of these: protein, fiber, and healthy fats. When you're first starting out, doing the exact same food for each meal and snack might be the easiest.
- Eat veggies for at least two meals and one snack per day: Snack on ants on a log or red pepper strips with hummus using this hack. And don't limit your veggie intake to just lunch and dinner. Add spinach and broccoli to your breakfast smoothie freezer packs or mash beans in your mason jars of overnight oats.
- Plan for times you know are difficult for you: If you know you're famished right before making dinner, wash five apples so you can bring one each day to nosh on around 4 p.m.
- Plan for cravings: Don't ignore cravings for sweet, salty, or crunchy foods. Plan out healthy, low-cal ways to satisfy them such as making a batch of chocolate peanut butter protein balls to keep in the freezer for after dinner.
- Have one large salad per day: Mason jar salads for lunch make this easy since they keep well for five days in the fridge. Or if you prefer eating your salad for dinner, Leslie recommends washing twice the amount of lettuce or kale so you get two nights' worth, and "wrap it in paper towels to keep it fresh."
- Have cut-up veggies on hand: Use them for roasting, steaming, or sauteing, for soups, or for snacking. I usually prep five different varieties to use for my dinner, including cauliflower, broccoli, sweet potatoes, squash, and green beans.
- Roast a pan of mixed veggies: Leslie says this is great to have on hand throughout the week to "add to salads, quinoa, eggs, or have as sides for meals."
- Freeze things in muffin tins: Options like mini turkey meatloaves, sausage egg muffins, or steel-cut oatmeal that only need a quick warming are great to have when you're short on time.
- Overnight oats: Make all five of your overnight oats at once. Then, before you go to bed, grab a jar and add a little maple syrup and milk.
- Beans and whole grains: Make a big batch of beans in the crockpot and cook up one or two cups of dry brown rice, quinoa, millet, or barley. Freeze in one-cup servings to grab for meals later.
- Crockpot love: For colder days, cook up a big batch of crockpot oatmeal or slow-cooker chickpea curry. Store in one- or two-cup glass containers to use for a week's worth of breakfast or lunch.
- Chop once: If you're making dinner Sunday night using ingredients you use for a few of your typical dinners, cut up a bunch at once to store in the fridge. Cut-up onions, red peppers, celery, and carrots will stay fresh all week.
- Extra chicken: Make twice as much so you can use it for your Sunday meal, and "make tacos, soups, or add to salad the next day for a quick dinner."
- Hard-boiled eggs: Leslie tells clients to "cook up one dozen hard-boiled eggs for snacks, salads, or breakfast on the go." They'll keep for up to five days.
- Plan one meal to indulge: This will prevent you from feeling deprived and can be just the thing you need to feel good about eating healthy the rest of the week.
- Take your time: Planning, shopping, and prepping can take three hours or more, so don't rush! Carve out a few hours on Sunday to peruse Pinterest for new recipe ideas, hit the store, and be home to chop and cook. It may seem like a ton of time to devote all at once, but it'll make a huge difference in not feeling stressed all week long. Most importantly, you're more likely to stay on the healthy path once you have that intention set on Sunday night.

The 1 Thing Will and Kate Must Do When They First See the Queen
Image Source: Getty / Dan Kitwood
Kate Middleton and Prince William joined Queen Elizabeth II for Easter service in Windsor, England, earlier this month, but before they made their way inside the church, Will and Kate made sure to curtsy and bow to the queen. According to royal etiquette rules, the monarchy suggests women do a small curtsy and men do a neck bow (from the head only) when greeting the royal family (although other people "prefer simply to shake hands in the usual way"), and those same rules apply to Will and Kate. Will must bow and Kate must curtsy to the queen if it's the first time in the day they are seeing her. The curtsy should be subtle, but the longer Kate pauses shows more respect and formality. While there's no law that enforces this rule, many British subjects follow it to keep with tradition and as a sign of respect.

15 Habits All Stylish 20-Somethings Have in Common
Fashionable 20-somethings have one quality in common: they form good style habits early on. Whether that means simply staying true to their personal style or picking out outfits the night before, these women know the key to looking and feeling good is being prepared.
We know your 20s are hectic times, and it's hard to keep up a routine. But, there are little tricks and tips to up your wardrobe game and simultaneously avoid binge-shopping 24/7. Ahead are several easy and doable habits every 20-something should adopt for the future - into her 30s and beyond.
I Made These 3 Changes at Breakfast, Which Helped Me Lose Weight
Despite eating (what I thought was) a wholesome breakfast every morning, the pounds weren't dropping. So why was I not losing weight? All the experts say breakfast is key to boosting metabolism, after all. I didn't realize I was making three huge mistakes, but once I changed them, I could see the difference in how my body looked.
Bye-Bye Granola
Cereal was my go-to breakfast all the way from elementary school through college. Although sweet, delicious, and easy, it was the worst breakfast for me. It's full of sugary carbs and not much fiber or protein. I even went for the healthy stuff like Kashi's GoLean Crunch, granola, and Raisin Bran, but cereal is cereal, and it's not the most nutritious choice on the menu. I started focusing on getting 13 to 20 grams of protein, at least six grams of fiber, and 10 to 15 grams of healthy fats. So I ditched the boxes for a blender and started sipping on smoothies. I also do overnight oats because it reminds me of cereal - I'm huge fan of the brownie batter and banana cashew.
What Time Is It?
Not sure where I heard that you're supposed to eat first thing in the morning and to never skip breakfast, but I followed that advice diligently. I ate within a half hour after waking up, around 7:30, even if I wasn't hungry (99 percent of the time I wasn't). I'm convinced it turned on my hunger because by 9 a.m., I was starving, which translated to eating two breakfasts, and that meant twice the calories. No wonder I wasn't slimming down! Now I wake up, get in a workout, and usually don't feel hungry until 9 or 10. Listening to my body's cues when it comes to breakfast has carried through to other parts of my day. I eat when I'm hungry, not when the clock tells me to.
Tablespoons Aren't Just For Baking
Another huge mistake? I never measured anything. When I was eating cereal, I grabbed a huge bowl - way bigger than your typical soup or salad bowl - and poured with abandon. I usually mixed three different cereals; added raisins, nuts, and blueberries or banana; and used Very Vanilla soy milk. Holy calories! No joke - my bowl was easily pushing 600. Same went for oatmeal, yogurt with fruit and granola, toast, or smoothies. I got out my cups and spoons and measured everything, making sure it was around 400 calories. To this day, I still measure everything to avoid accidentally eyeballing higher amounts.

This Bikini Shopping Hack Could Change Your Swimsuit Style For Life
I've never been against mixing and matching my bikinis. It's just another way to get the most out of the pieces I've already invested in (while making it look like my swim drawer is filled to the brim). But this wasn't a move I made often - at least until now.
I recently went away on a tropical vacation and pretty much wore a swimsuit every day. That was when I discovered the one bottom that truly looks best on my bum. While it's cheekier than any design I've dared to put on before, I figured there was no better time to experiment and slipped on a V-cut bottom with a single strip of ruching down the center. (Let's just say I had to apply extra sunscreen to my newly exposed cheeks.)
When I turned around and looked in the mirror, I loved the way it looked. The piece made my behind appear toned and perky, covering just enough skin so that I didn't mind leaving the vicinity of the hotel room. I didn't take it off for the rest of the trip, rotating the handful of tops I brought, even if they didn't coordinate perfectly.
Afterward, it hit me: why not use this as an approach to shop for swimwear? Rather than buying a full set just because you fall in love with the color, pattern, or texture, find the silhouette that feels most comfortable and looks good (whether it's a top or bottom), and purchase one or two in neutral tones that can work with the prints you already own.
Scroll for a few winning designs that fit the bill in a whole range of shapes and sizes.
The Fascinating History Behind Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia and Phish Food
Two of Ben & Jerry's most iconic flavors - Phish Food and Cherry Garcia - continue to remain at the top of the popularity list for more than just being delicious. Flavor Guru Sarah Fidler credits it back to nostalgia. "When people eat ice cream, it often brings them back to memories of their childhood. We love to amplify that experience by providing flavors that make them feel like a kid again," she said. She said many people keep reaching for these same flavors because it's what they ate nonstop as kids, which makes sense, considering Phish Food came out 20 years ago this year and Cherry Garcia 30 years ago.
Cherry Garcia, believe it or not, was a fan submission from way back when. Cherry Garcia was originally submitted as an idea from a Grateful Dead fan; it was posted on a bulletin board inside a scoop shop before being written in to the main office in Vermont. Phish Food, on the other hand, was a teamwork conception between the Vermont-based band Phish and the Vermont-based ice cream maker. These two music-inspired flavors have held strong as favorites with the brand, and they spread Ben & Jerry's message of peace, love, and ice cream by reminding ice cream-lovers of the bands they loved (and still love!) years ago and the ice cream they ate when they were young . . . or young at heart!
This most popular of the fan-suggested flavors, named after the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, is a cherry ice cream that actually started as a vanilla base years ago. Now it's cherry with cherries and chocolate flakes inside. Even better, a Chocolate Cherry Garcia option is now available, though the cherry base is the original . . . and probably the best.
Phish Food is a chocolate ice cream base with marshmallow swirls, caramel swirls, and fudge fish throughout. Fun fact, though: the marshmallow swirl in Phish Food isn't actually marshmallow at all; it's nougat. And like every Ben & Jerry's flavor, you get a bit of the ooey-gooey goodness in every bite.
"People tend to latch onto their favorite flavors from childhood and stay attached for life!" Sarah said of Ben & Jerry's fans continually returning to Cherry Garcia and Phish Food, in particular. And she said Ben & Jerry's makes sure to keep the nostalgia factor in mind with all the flavor planning that goes into producing new products. It's no wonder these two flavors, in particular, keep topping Ben & Jerry's popularity list year after year. We think topping these nostalgic ice creams with a hearty helping of Oreo O's might be the perfect way to eat like a kid again.
Lobke's 75-Pound Weight-Loss Secrets: Weight Watchers and Fitbit
After her "aha!" moment, Lobke Meulemeester from the UK realized she had to change her habits to live a healthier life. Starting at 233 pounds, she's used Weight Watchers and Fitbit to lose 75 - but she still lives a life of balance, sharing that even now she has days where she doesn't go to the gym and gets takeout ("takeaway," in UK terms!) instead. And while she always gets her steps in, she has a little chocolate every day.
Lobke: Before
POPSUGAR: What made you decide to start your weight-loss journey?
Lobke Meulemeester: I came to a point in my life where doing simple tasks like walking became difficult. Walking short distances gave me a backache; I got short of breath. I was borderline diabetic. I knew things had to change if I wanted to prolong my life. But it wasn't only physical - my mental state was also suffering. I had no confidence in myself and didn't care anymore. I didn't care what I looked like or what I wore.
I have always been a little overweight as a kid, even though I was quite active. And this continued through adulthood but escalated after my mother suddenly died back in October 2013. Dieting and losing weight got put back and I wasn't on my mind at all.
PS: Was there one program or method that you used?
LM: I had used Weight Watchers before so I thought I'd give it another go. I followed the program, combined with exercise and daily hour-long walks while being on lunch break at work. I got myself a Fitbit and tracked my daily steps. I enjoyed doing the challenges with people all over the world and it got me walking in all sorts of weather. Before Weight Watchers, I had tried a few different weight-loss programs like SlimFast, calorie-counting, and shakes. I had lost weight but always ended up regaining after going back to normal foods.
PS: What's your favorite way to work out?
LM: I love to go to classes. I find it more fun than just using the cardio machines, although I do plow through it sometimes as I know that's what works for me.
PS: What's your weekly exercise schedule?
LM: It depends. I try and go to the gym three times a week but I never set myself a target or set days; I go when I feel like it. Sometimes I have days where I can't face it and go home and have takeaway instead. It's all about balance!
Lobke: After
PS: How do you keep workouts exciting?
LM: I try and switch it up as much as I can. I go to different classes and do a day of HIIT cardio in between.
PS: What was the first big difference, other than the number on the scale, that really made you feel proud and excited?
LM: It was the confidence I gained while losing weight. Not only did I feel so much better and more alive, but I also started to love how I looked as a result. My skin was glowing, I was smiling more, and I started enjoying clothes shopping again.
PS: How do you track your weight loss?
LM: I use the Weight Watchers app but I also have a sheet I made in my kitchen at the moment where I track the days until I go on holiday which I cross off every day so I can keep motivated and on track until then. It's good to have goals to work toward.
PS: What's a typical day of meals and snacks?
LM: I start my day with a good, filling protein breakfast that will keep me going until 11-ish. Lunch would also be a sandwich with a good amount of protein like chicken. I make sure I have plenty of fruit with me to snack on during the day, and I also make sure I have a little treat in the afternoon with a cup of coffee to keep me going. Being Belgian, that's mostly chocolate!
PS: Do you count calories? What's the range of calories you eat per day?
LM: No. I have tried using the MyFitnessPal app before and it's just not for me. I want something that's easy and doesn't require me to weigh everything I eat.
Lobke: Before and After
PS: What are the healthy staples that are always in your fridge?
LM: You will always find yogurts, pineapple, almond milk, eggs, precooked chicken, and gherkins [pickles] in my fridge.
PS: How do you strategize for meals out?
LM: I always have one day where I have a treat meal and dessert. I always choose what I want as I think it's important to listen to your cravings. I have learned from experience it doesn't end well if you ignore them. So one day, I will have something I've fancied all week and a nice dessert to follow, that way I feel refreshed for the week ahead.
"I've skipped the gym many times for takeaway and treats instead. It's life. Take one day at a time. Every day is a fresh start."
PS: How did the Fitbit help you on your journey?
LM: I got myself a Fitbit when I first started my fitness journey. It helped me get more steps in on a regular basis as I have an office job and it's actually astonishing to see how little steps you do in a day. So I started taking two 10-minute breaks and walk around the car park, as well as walking on my one-hour lunch every single day. On top of that, I would go to the gym three times a week. I did challenges with people all over the world and it can get quite competitive. Sometimes I ended up walking in the rain just so I could win the workweek hustle!
PS: What advice do you have for anyone starting out on a weight-loss journey?
LM: Don't expect it to happen overnight. This will be a long process but one that will be totally worth it. It will become easier once you are a few weeks in. Don't get upset when you are having an off day; we all get those. I've skipped the gym many times for takeaway and treats instead. It's life. Take one day at a time. Every day is a fresh start. Just never stop, never give up. You will get there, one day at a time.
How Well Do the Queen and Kate Middleton Really Get Along?
Although we're unlikely to read a heartfelt interview with her majesty on the subject anytime soon, actions speak louder than words, as is often the case with the queen. While Prince William and Kate Middleton were working out the first five years of their on-off relationship, the queen steered clear of meeting her grandson's girlfriend. Although they were in the same room on at least three occasions, there was zero interaction between the two women.
There has never been an exact date revealed for when William and Kate started dating, but it's thought that around the time of William's 21st birthday party in June 2003, there was something going on between the two, though it wasn't serious. No need to get Granny involved at this point! By the time they graduated from St. Andrews two years later, they had been through their first breakup and the relationship was on firmer ground, but the queen believed that the day should be about William celebrating with his friends, and she felt the same when it came to his passing out parade from Sandhurst Military Academy in 2006.
After the couple's short-lived breakup four months later, and another year down the line, the time was finally right for Kate to meet the queen. Five years after they first started seeing each other, William and Kate were sure they had a future together, and in their engagement interview, Kate revealed, "I first met [the queen] at Peter Phillips and Autumn [Philipps]'s wedding . . . it was in amongst a lot of other guests and she was very friendly." William added of his grandmother, "She had wanted to meet Kate for a while."
Kate must have made a good first impression, because the following month she was invited to Windsor Castle when William was inducted into the Royal Order of the Garter. Kate was the surprise addition to the day, as it was the first royal engagement she had attended, and her arrival in a car with Prince Harry spoke volumes.
Over the years, the relationship between the queen and Kate has become stronger and stronger. When Kate's wedding dress was displayed in July 2011, the monarch accompanied her new granddaughter-in-law on an official viewing, and the following year she invited Kate to accompany her on three more engagements - two of which were without William. Kate later said in the documentary Our Queen at Ninety about her grandmother-in-law, "The most memorable engagement for me was an away-day to Leicester. I went without William, so I was rather apprehensive about that . . . . She was very supportive. The fact she took the time to make sure that I was happy and looked after for that particular occasion, which probably in everything that she's doing is a very small element, it shows just how caring she is really." The queen has also revealed her fondness for her granddaughter-in-law in her hospitality to Kate's parents. Not only did she invite them to Royal Ascot in 2011 and 2012 when they rode in her carriage procession, but she also invited them to ride on a boat in her Diamond Jubilee River Pageant.
With the arrival of Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the queen and Kate have become even closer, and on Sept. 9, 2015, when the queen quietly marked the day she surpassed Queen Victoria to become the longest-serving monarch of all time, she chose to spend it privately in Balmoral with Prince Philip, William, and Kate.
Mom Warns About the Common Bedroom Item That Killed Her Infant
Jordan DeRosier, a heartbroken mom from Washington, shared her grief in a Facebook post after suddenly losing her 7-month-old son when he became entangled in his blanket at bedtime.
The incident seemed innocent enough at first but resulted in any mother's worst nightmare. "He was laid down with this blanket made by his great-grandmother, and one other blanket, a grey one he had been attached to since birth," she said.
According to the mother of two, tragedy struck when her son Sloan somehow pulled the blanket over his head and got it stuck between the bars of his crib.
Her post serves as a cautionary tale to parents begging them to reconsider putting their infants to bed with loose blankets until they're older. "You never think it will be your baby," she warned. "Please do not put your baby to bed with a blanket. Please. He was 7 months old. I thought because he was crawling, standing on his own, and climbing that he would be fine with a blanket."
DeRosier's emotional post also counters comments that blame vaccinations for her son's untimely death. "To those who keep commenting and messaging trying to blame vaccines for our son's death - stop," she wrote.
A 2016 report from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) says that approximately 3,500 infants die annually in the US from sleep-related deaths, including sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), ill-defined deaths, and accidental suffocation and strangulation."
The AAP recommends waiting until the child is at least 1 year old before introducing any blankets, bumpers, or sheets into the crib to avoid any breathing obstructions and overheating.
I Drank a Gallon of Water a Day For 3 Weeks (and Why I'll Never Do It Again)
I'm not sure where I heard about this "drinking a gallon of water a day" thing, but I thought, hey, I'll give it a try and see what happens. I'd heard it creates radiant skin, but I wanted to see if it would help curb my appetite and help with weight loss.
So I bought a gallon jug of water since it would be easiest to visualize my progress, and I got to work. I was used to drinking about 40 or so ounces a day, give or take, so bumping it up to 128 ounces was quite a difference.
I planned to do it for an entire month but quickly realized that drinking a gallon of water a day sucks is no joke and changed my commitment to three weeks. It was much harder than I thought. For at least the first week, I would completely forget to drink water in the morning. After my 5:45 a.m. CrossFit workout, I'd drink about 20 ounces, and then another 20 at lunchtime, but by dinner, I'd realize I had way more left to drink. I ended up having to chug 80 ounces in the last two hours before bed. This gave me stomach cramps and made me have to get up at least four times during the night. Setting reminders on my phone didn't help - I'd just ignore them. Drinking water became my job, and I wasn't enjoying it.
But I committed to the three weeks, and even though I found that drinking that much water a day didn't come naturally to me, I did experience some wonderful benefits. Here are the four things that happened to me after drinking a gallon of water a day for three weeks straight.
Before:
Skin
As you can see from the "before" photo, my skin wasn't great. I've battled with acne my whole life and found that dairy and sugar definitely aggravated it. This photo was taken with me two and a half years off dairy and eating sugar here and there (which explains the breakouts). But after three weeks of drinking so much water, I definitely noticed my skin clear up. While continuing to eat sweet treats every couple of days, the problem areas on my face stayed clear. Even through my period. This was pretty amazing and inspired me to stick with it.
Belly Bloat
As I shared in the past, I have issues with belly bloat, and eating sugar is the culprit. I can't have even a bite of chocolate or a spoonful of dairy-free ice cream without my stomach waging war. But when I got my hands on a new Ben & Jerry's flavor (oh hello there, Caramel Almond Brittle), I just had to eat a bowl. I was shocked that I felt fine. I drank a lot of water before and after, and I had no cramping and my belly looked flatter. I hadn't changed anything in my diet, just the extra water. I was floored. And this wasn't just a one-time thing. I experimented with cookies I baked and a chocolate bar - every time, drinking that much water each day helped prevent any digestive symptoms.
After:
Curbed Appetite
As I've talked about before, I'm doing intermittent fasting, specifically the 16:8 plan, where I stop eating around 7 or 8 p.m. and fast until 11 a.m. or 12 p.m. the next day. Experts say the obvious, to drink a lot of water to curb your appetite, and they're right! Drinking a lot of water in the morning while fasting definitely kept my hunger at bay, so much so that I'd often look at the clock and realize it was past the time I was supposed to start eating.
Drinking this much water also prevented me from overeating and made me realize that before I started this experiment, my cravings weren't actually hunger, but rather thirst. An hour after lunch, I'd often get hungry for something, but sipping down 10 or so ounces satiated my need for something in my belly. I'd also take a few gulps before dinner, sip on water throughout dinner, and drink a bunch more afterward, and this reduced my cravings for late-night snacks.
Is There a Bathroom Here?
I thought I peed a lot before this experiment! If drinking water was my full-time job, hitting the ladies' room had me working overtime. Thanks to two pregnancies and a self-diagnosed bladder the size of a lemon, I was already peeing probably at least eight times during my waking hours. Once I started drinking 128 ounces of water a day, that increased to at least 12 bathroom visits.
This was the worst side effect of drinking a gallon of water a day, but I mean, it was to be expected - what goes in must come out, right? It made it hard to leave the house because even if I peed right before I left, within five minutes, I felt like I'd have to pee again, and then 30 minutes later, I'd have to pee again! Peeing that much in a day is no fun.
On a related note, staying super hydrated also prevented any constipation whatsoever. I had no issues in that department, which made forcing myself to drink a gallon of water a day worth it.
Final Thoughts
Am I still drinking a gallon of water a day? Hell no! Personally, downing 128 ounces a day just didn't come easy for me, but since I did love the benefits that came along with it, I am drinking more water than I was, aiming for 60 to 80 ounces a day. And what's great is that I'm still reaping the benefits, minus the millions of bathroom breaks.
4 Ways Prince William Is Making Sure Princess Diana's Mark Is Left on the World
Prince William was just 15 years old when his mother, Princess Diana, died in a car accident in August 1997. Even though it's been nearly 20 years since her tragic passing, the royal intends to keep his mother's legacy alive. Not only has William gotten more and more comfortable with speaking about Diana in interviews, but both he and Prince Harry have championed some of the same charities as their mother and attribute their philanthropic nature to her. Here are four ways William is carrying on Diana's legacy with his charity work.
3 Things to Help You Have a Tighter and More Toned Tummy
If you're constantly doing crunches to get a six-pack, you may be going about things the wrong way. Along with fat-burning cardio, the best way to lose belly fat is through these three diet changes.
Eat These
Proven to reduce abdominal fat, MUFAs (monounsaturated fatty acids) should be a part of your daily diet, and you can find them in avocado, nuts and nut butters, seeds, and olive oil. Just be mindful of how much you eat since these are also high in calories. Blueberries are also proven to diminish belly fat, so make a point to throw them in your salads and smoothies. Some foods like pineapple contain an enzyme that helps ease digestion and banish bloat, making your belly look and feel flatter. High-fiber foods like pears, berries, veggies, beans, and whole grains have the same effect - plus they keep you feeling full longer, just like healthy fats. Feeling full keeps hunger at bay, so you crave less and eat less, reducing your total daily calorie intake which will reduce your overall body fat, including that extra bit around your middle.
Ditch These
Trans fat is a big no-no for your health in general, but also for your belly. It's found in many processed foods like granola bars, crackers, cookies, some peanut butter, and breads. If the list of ingredients includes partially hydrogenated oil, put it back on the shelf. Avoid processed foods, soda, and meats that are high in saturated fat. Try to limit sugar, simple carbs like bagels, and alcohol since these won't fill you up, so you'll end up eating extra calories you don't need. Also, steer clear of foods that personally cause you bloating like dairy products, sweeteners, or bread.
The Trifecta
You don't need to give up carbs and go all crazy with a protein-only diet. Instead, CrossFit competitor Christmas Abbott told us to embrace the macronutrient trifecta of proteins, complex carbs, and healthy fats to help reduce overall body fat, which will aid in reducing stubborn belly fat. Including all three in your meals will make you feel more satisfied so you end up consuming smaller portions. Plus, you'll feel fuller longer which helps you consume fewer total calories.
Your Jaw Will Instantly Hit the Floor When You See This Woman's Afro Hair Sculptures
Laetitia KY has quite the unique way of celebrating her natural black hair: she twists, molds, and shapes her afro into an impressive array of artistic sculptures situated on top of her head. A Cote d'Ivoire-based aspiring fashion designer, Laetitia was inspired to delve into the world of hair art after coming across pictures of tribal hairstyles from back in the day.
"About a year ago I saw an album on Instagram presenting African women's hairstyles in diverse tribes from years ago - the hairstyles those women were sporting are impressive and represented an art form in themselves," she told Metro.
But her one-of-a-kind take on these styles is rather jaw dropping, as she uses extensions to fashion her 'do into a variety of arrangements, from quirky hand gestures to flora-themed looks. The key to perfecting these works of art? Her "versatile" hair type! "I've got the most frizzy on the hair classification scale!" she told Metro. "It's a type 4C. As a result, it's the most versatile hair you can find. This texture gives a beautiful volume to my hair, too, and I find it awesome!"
Awesome is definitely an understatement! Read on to see the many ways Laetitia works wonders with her gorgeous hair, and be sure to follow her on Instagram to stay up to date with her latest looks.
5 Notable "Heirs and Spares" in the British Royal Family
Not only does the adorable Princess Charlotte have the the most adorable uncle ever in Prince Harry, but on a deeper level, she also has someone who will always understand what it feels like to play backup to an older sibling who will one day be king. The royal family has always been keen to produce a "spare" to the heir so that if - heaven forbid - anything should happen to the elder sibling, the future of the monarchy can continue with the younger.
This has been the case with some incredibly notable monarchs - Henry VIII was actually the "spare" - but in modern times it has thankfully been less necessary, and so the younger sibling nudges further down the line of succession with every niece and nephew born. However the nature of a "spare" can create all sorts of issues; they are a vital cog in the royal machine as they grow up, but as soon as the the elder sibling starts having children of their own, their official role becomes less defined, with (as we have seen in the last five generations of the royal family) very mixed results.
Simone Biles Learns How to Be a Harlem Globetrotter, and It Is Equally Hilarious and Adorable
In today's heartwarming news (and on the heels of America's birthday), we get to see two of America's sweethearts - Simone Biles and Hammer Harrison from the Harlem Globetrotters - do "Globetrotter Gymnastics." And we have to admit, watching 6'9" Harrison and 4'9" Biles work out together is equal parts hilarious and adorable.
While Simone has arguably "achieved success," Harrison tells her there's "only one more thing you need to do to progress to success, and that is be a Harlem Globetrotter." It's not often you see a four-time Olympic gold medalist get tripped up by a sport (even still, she manages to keep up!), but the two athletes definitely had a thing or two to share with each other (and according to Simone, Harrison has a "good front tuck.").
9 Times the British Royal Family Showed Us That Some Rules Are Meant to Be Broken
Prince William recently made headlines when he broke royal protocol to console a victim of the Grenfell Tower fire earlier this month, but as it turns out, the British royal family breaks the rules all the time, especially when emotion takes over. The monarchy suggests that you shouldn't go beyond a handshake when meeting a British royal, and if you're thinking about asking them for an autograph or selfie, you should probably think again. Not only is that also a breech of royal protocol, but their likely response will be, "Sorry, they don't allow me to do that." Unlike celebrities, royals cannot afford to have their signature forged and possibly used against them at a later point. Still, some rules are meant to be broken.

Matthew Lewis and Tom Felton Might Not Be Wizards, but Their Friendship Is Pure Magic
Harry Potter ended almost six years ago, but the cast is still as close as ever. Aside from reuniting at fan events and supporting each other at movie premieres, the stars have proven time and time again that they are really just one big family. Yes, that includes the Malfoys and the Longbottoms. Even though Matthew Lewis (Neville) and Tom Felton (Draco) played mortal enemies in the beloved franchise, their offscreen friendship is actually really endearing. From their sports outings to their trips to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it's clear that these two have one magical bromance.

Insecure Season 2 Is Coming to Brighten Up Your Summer
Insecure was one of the most underrated shows of last year, so we couldn't be more stoked about season two's return this Summer. There's not a ton of info out there about the plot of the ultrarelatable series, but who cares? We have a teaser and a premiere date to look forward to. Here's what we know about the second season of Insecure.
When It Premieres
The second season comes back on Sunday, July 23.
The Teaser
The fun teaser shows Rae as her character, Issa, hanging out with friends and seemingly still torn between Lawrence and Daniel. Watch.
The Trailer
The official, full trailer dropped in late June, and showcases Issa's attempt at being single . . . and kind of getting it.
What It's About
Rae is the series star and creator, so of course we'll be seeing a lot of Issa, but just because she and Lawrence are broken up, don't expect that he's out. Aside from being featured in the teaser, executive producer Prentice Penny told Deadline that we'll be exploring single Lawrence: "A lot of our stories last year were Lawrence and Issa dependent, and now that they've broken up, we're able to see more of his life, his world," said Penny. Whether Issa herself is still single, Rae refused to comment on Instagram back in March. At least we know Molly (Yvonne Orji) is back, and we can depend on that relationship to be full of ups and downs.
Peter Dinklage's Role as Husband Might Be Our Favorite - Sorry, Tyrion Lannister
Peter Dinklage is well-known for his role on Game of Thrones, but in real life, he's a loving husband and father. In 2005, the actor married theater director Erica Schmidt, and they welcomed their first child, a daughter whose name has not yet been revealed, in 2011. While the two are usually pretty reserved about their romance (and their family life), they have been known to show sweet PDA from time to time on the red carpet. Whether they're giving each other heart eyes at the Game of Thrones premiere or they're supporting each other at the Emmy Awards, it's clear these two have a lot of love for each other. As they get ready to welcome their second child, see some of their best appearances over the years.
I Still Have My "Lovey" at 25 - and I'm Completely Normal (I Swear)
Ever get a whiff of your clothes on vacation and think, "Smells like my house," and in that moment you feel like you're a little closer to home? That's how it feels for me when I am near my 25-year-old stuffed bunny, Boogie - it feels like home when he's around.
When I was nannying, my pint-size employer slept with a little blue bear - aptly named "Little Blue Bear" - and if he ever went missing over the course of the day, a sh*t fit would be had, and I could never blame him. I used to do the same thing as a child when Boogie went missing - it's terrifying when you've lost something that makes you feel so secure.
But feeling such a strong attachment to an object is a red flag for some parents who think their child won't develop correctly with a stuffed animal or blanket - sometimes called a "lovey" - as a crutch. But they're a completely normal part of development, and seeing as I am 25 and still have mine, I'd go so far as to say they're a completely normal part of life in general.
I recently read an article about children and why they're so attached to their loveys, and I found myself nodding my head in agreement to every point made.
". . . these objects play a key role in a child's life, providing comfort when they're upset or anxious, giving them a sense of security as they gain independence, and acting as a soothing substitute when you're not around. . . . If a mother [or father] is gone, you can bring that soothing feeling back with an object."
At 8 years old, I started going to sleep-away camp, and even though I wanted to go, there were still times I missed home - like going to sleep at night - so I'd clutch Boogie, get a familiar scent, and fall blissfully asleep feeling safe and secure.
At 18, I went off to college in Pennsylvania, and even though it was exactly like camp, there were times I longed to be back in New York with my friends and family - enter Boogie.
At 22, my family got a dog who thought that Boogie was for him - and the boy loves to chew things to bits - so Boogie made his way from my bed to the shelf above it, and though the first few nights felt weird, having him there was enough.
At 25, I moved out of my parents' house, and in the beginning, I would look around and feel as if the house I was standing in would never be my home. I initially left Boogie on that shelf in my old room, until I went to my parents' house one night, looked around at some of the stuff I left behind, and spotted him. I've never had the feeling that my new house isn't my home since I brought Boogie back with me that night.
All that being said, I'm a completely normal, functioning adult with a job, friends, and an apartment who can totally go on vacation and sleep at night without a stuffed animal - but there's not a chance in hell I'd ever get rid of it.
Adults go through plenty of periods in their lives where having something that aids with self-soothing is beneficial - going through a breakup, moving to a new city, settling into a new job, dealing with loss. Those attachments that are formed with a lovey inspire trust and security to help with situations that induce anxiety and sadness.
So yes, I'm 25, and a once beautiful, soft bunny - now full of holes; missing stuffing, a nose, and ears; and no longer soft to the touch - is something that can instantly make me feel 100-percent safe, secure, and at home, no matter where I am, and I'm pretty grateful for that.

How to Smartly Grocery Shop at Costco For 1
Costco's low prices for bulk groceries seem like an obvious choice for families, but what about parties of one? If you live alone or are shopping for just yourself, here are some smart choices you can make in the food section to take advantage of the deals without accidentally wasting your pretty pennies.
Never Go to Costco Hungry
You'll be swayed to purchase all the samples, but once you're home, you'll wonder why in the world did you think it was a good call to buy a triple pack of spicy tofu noodes?! Therefore, always make a list prior to going to Costco and eat before you enter the aisles. If you forget, do thyself a favor and eat a slice of pizza from the food court.
Buy Your Staples ONLY
You know what you eat day in and day out and what you constantly buy at the grocery and seem to always run out of. If you can't say with confidence that you can finish a large container of something and quickly, too, don't purchase it. Also, use Costco's coupons for your favorite items rather than for something random that sounds enticing.
Become BFFs With Canned and Frozen Foods
What do canned soups, canned tuna, beer, and frozen burritos have in common? These groceries have an extended shelf life and are packaged up for one. Perfect! Consider this when purchasing groceries. Frozen fruit and veggies are also usually safe for the solo grocery buyer, but be sure you are choosing items that you'll really and truly want to eat on the regular.
Be Careful When It Comes to Perishables
Milk, eggs, cheese, and fresh meat and produce can spell trouble for the solo shopper since they come in such large packages. Yogurt and butter may be the few exceptions, as they usually come in smaller, more manageable packages.
The Best Photos of Selena Gomez and Her Mom, Mandy
When Selena Gomez appeared on the red carpet for the premiere of her Netflix show 13 Reasons Why, there was one person by her side we don't often see: her mom, Mandy Teefey. Though the mother and daughter are really close, they are pretty private about their relationship, only occasionally sharing Instagram photos together and showing up at events only a handful of times. Even in those few pictures, we can tell they are inseparable. See their obvious bond by looking ahead for the best photos ever.
