Beauty Supply, beauty magazine, beautiful homes, beautiful skin: How to Nail a Grunge Makeup Look Using 3 Essential Elements

Though the current popularity of grunge makeup can partly be attributed to the more general '90s renaissance, there's another reason this beauty trend is gaining so much momentum: its customizability. While the overall fad is obviously inspired by the traditional moody style, the modern variations we're seeing have evolved to include a more diverse scope of techniques, palettes, and features. From soft grunge to glam grunge, we love how the movement can be tweaked to fit your specific style and facial features.

But no matter what iteration of grunge makeup you choose, there are three basics that are essential to nailing it: a matte face, smoky eyes, and dark lips. Once you've perfected these crucial elements, you can adjust them by adding additional colors or products to make it your own. To help you get started on your vampy makeover, we've put together the essential tips and products to master these three basic steps.

Fitness Club,Fitness Articles,Life Fitness,Training Program,Workout:Running Helped Me Get My Groove Back After My Divorce

Divorce is not exactly a walk in the park. If you thought planning your wedding and getting your bridesmaids ready for that walk down the aisle was tough, it doesn't hold a candle to splitting apart your life, and sometimes a child's life, like divorce does. Even the easiest divorce can be unnerving. When my soon-to-be ex-husband and I decided to separate, the world spun. How was I going to care for my child as a single parent? At the time, I was job hunting for a full-time position while working part-time. I wondered if I would be able to provide for my daughter financially. I wondered how she would cope. I wondered what the future would bring. Divorce brings upon many new changes and "what if" scenarios. I needed to find a way to clear my head when the noise inside of my brain and heart became too loud.

Let me not forget to mention that when my marriage started to crumble, my daughter was two years old. We didn't make the clean cut until almost a year later. Still, I had a young child and had just been pregnant not so long ago. I was back to my pre-baby weight and slimmer than before, but I had gotten lazy at the gym. I did my routine but never pushed myself and simply went through the motions. My workout was an unispired habit, like having a morning cup of tea. The thrill of fitness was gone. And the thrill of fitness wasn't the only thing that had "left the building." As the marriage decayed, so did the sex life. Most of the time I felt invisible and as if I had no sex appeal. This was unusual; I had been very confident of my sex appeal before marriage, albeit a little self critical. But at the point in which we said, "It's over," I didn't feel like a woman and a mom - just a mom without any feminine allure. I wanted to feel excited again. I wanted to be out in the world, not only as a mom but also a woman.

That's when running walked in. (Did I just say that?)

As a kid, I was coordinated but I wasn't the first kid you picked for dodgeball. I was able to move and get by, but I never considered myself athletic until I got older. I still hesitate to say athletic and instead would say "fit." Running was never a passion of mine. I figured I could get by walking and using the elliptical machine, but now I wanted more from my workout. I wanted more from life. I didn't want the status quo, but instead, I wanted the best for myself and my daughter. I wanted happiness.

It started on a treadmill and then when I went out with someone for the first time after my separation, unnerved about being in the dating world again, I hit the pavement outdoors. I was a part-time employed, soon-to-be single mom with a low income, a large amount of student loan debt, and a huge question mark of a future in front of me. Those details didn't matter though when I put on my sneakers, sunblock, exercise gear, and earbuds, ready to face the trail around my local reservoir and all the dogs, moms, and couples walking and running alongside me.

There were many times I ran through tears. Sometimes it felt as if I were running away from my problems and my life. From myself. I remembered all the good times in my marriage and I thought of the bad times too. I remembered hitting the reservoir trail when my daughter was an infant in her stroller, enjoying the fresh air, feeling human again even with my weak post-partum core (thanks to a C-section) and my leaking breasts (thanks to breastfeeding). Here I was again, but my daughter was with her dad during his parenting time. Now I was keeping up with the wind without her.

I was alone, yet I wasn't lonely.

Running is a companion in itself. The movement, the air, the soundtrack - they become your friends whether you've run one mile or three, whether you give up and start walking or whether you pound through your fatigue and trudge ahead. Running was the silent, steady, true companion I needed to remind myself of who I was before marriage and who I could be after marriage. It was the free therapist I sought counsel in. It was the way I found answers to problems and how I calmed my fears. Running was the one partner who told me without wavering: "You are strong. You are sexy."

Running told me: "You can get through this divorce even, if for today, you believe you can't." I hadn't known I needed a cheerleader to get me through divorce, but I did.

After a brief time, that running translated into energy and that energy infused my workouts. I started increasing my weights at the gym and requiring more of myself. In a split second, I wasn't simply thin - I was slim and toned and not too shabby looking for a late-30s soon-to-be divorced mom.

I can thank it all for the one time I thought to myself, "Let me try this."

Today, I am still not a marathon runner and have never made it to a 5K, but it's still the one thing almost two years later that turns off the noise in my brain, giving me clarity and peace. It's the best gift I have given to myself since saying "I don't."

Fitness Club,Fitness Articles,Life Fitness,Training Program,Workout:52 of the Easiest Health Resolutions a Person Can Make and Keep

Every year, losing weight, eating healthy, and getting fit compete for the top spot on Americans' lists of New Year's resolutions. And by mid-January, the majority of those high-minded health goals have been abandoned, leaving many soured to the idea of positive change in the process. But it doesn't have to be this way. The problem is many healthy resolutions are too big and too vague to actually accomplish - so aim smaller and go specific. And aim for easy. Like, really easy - seriously.

Here's a list of 52 extremely easy health resolutions, and we are sure you can master at least one of them. If you don't like the idea of making resolutions, think of this as a personal health experiment. You're not really committing yourself to sweeping changes, just dabbling. And when you check one of these resolutions off your list, you'll feel so much better about yourself. And isn't that the ultimate goal anyway?

  1. Drink a glass of water upon waking in the morning - aim for eight ounces.
  2. When taking an escalator, don't just ride but walk up those moving steps.
  3. Eat more high-quality dark chocolate (aim for 70 percent cacoa) - it's loaded with antioxidants.
  4. Read the nutritional labels of the packaged foods you eat for an entire day. Check out the portion sizes, while you're at it.
  5. Make a motivational playlist stacked with all the songs that make you want to move.
  6. Get outside for 10 minutes daily.
  7. Food journal for a day (or a week) and track what you're really eating. Those 3 p.m. M&M's might just be making you crash.
  8. Floss before bed. Your dentist will love you for it. Not to mention your own gums will love you for it.
  9. Focus on your breath when you feel the stress coming on. Yep, it's a mini meditation session.
  10. Stretch while watching TV.
  11. Drink your coffee or tea without sweetener. Just try it once or twice and see. You might like it.
  12. Focus on chewing all the food in your mouth before taking another bite.
  13. Turn off all electronics 20 minutes before lights out at bedtime.
  14. Measure out your food portions before eating. Yep. You will have to read that pesky nutritional label.
  15. Walk for 10 minutes three times a week.
  16. Stay off of social media for 24 hours and see how you feel not being "connected."
  17. Plan a vacation - little or big - since the planning makes you feel almost as good as actually getting away.
  18. Time how long you are brushing your teeth . . . the ADA recommends two minutes, twice a day.
  19. Order your sandwich on whole wheat bread.
  20. Write down everything you're grateful for at the end of the day.
  21. Eat some protein at breakfast - or at least eat some breakfast.
  22. Order brown rice instead of white.
  23. When you wear heels, take 30 seconds to stretch your calves at the end of the day. How? Down Dog it.
  24. Eat a serving of fruit daily for a week.
  25. Find a mantra that works for you for hard times, and then remember to use it.
  26. Go vegan for a day. Here's a high-protein vegan meal plan to give you some ideas.
  27. Ditch soda for a day (or a week).
  28. Give someone you don't know a compliment.
  29. Try green tea. It's really good for you!
  30. Take lunch to work two times in one week. Too challenging? Then try to brown-bag it once, your choice. We just ask that you set yourself up for success and make good choices.
  31. Skip alcohol, wine and beer included, for a week.
  32. Read a book - it's good for your brain.
  33. Plan a fitness date with a friend.
  34. Take a compliment by just saying, "Thank you." And not explaining why you don't deserve it.
  35. Start your day with lemon water.
  36. Make your own salad dressing - it costs less money, saves calories, and tastes better. Here are our favorite salad dressing recipes.
  37. Reconnect with an old friend - off of Facebook. Yes, it is possible.
  38. Do squats while brushing your teeth - make use of those 2 minutes!
  39. Sing the ABCs every time you wash your hands to ensure you're really getting your paws clean.
  40. Make overnight oats so you have breakfast waiting for you in the morning.
  41. Give yourself an at-home spa day - a long bath can make you feel so good.
  42. Schedule an at-home workout. Seriously. Put it in your calendar and do it.
  43. Get your vision checked - those tension headaches could be about your eyes.
  44. Get rid of old, unsupportive sports bras and take time to find one that really works for you.
  45. Sleep eight hours a night for a week.
  46. Take healthy snacks to work; trail mix is easy and requires no cooking.
  47. Carry a reusable water bottle with you and stay hydrated all day long.
  48. Buy, and more importantly use, a set of medium-weight dumbbells.
  49. When you are cold, don't turn up the heat - do 10 push-ups (doing them on your knees is cool with us).
  50. Skip the fries and order a salad with your burger.
  51. Eat carb free for a day - do you feel better or just super cranky?
  52. Stop eating when you are 3/4 full instead of stuffed.

You might notice that 52 resolutions match up with the number of weeks in a year. You could go crazy and tackle one of these goals weekly for all of 2016. You can do it!

Beauty Supply, beauty magazine, beautiful homes, beautiful skin: Glass Nail Art Is the Latest Korean Beauty Craze You Need to Try

It's easy to feel a bit jaded when it comes to holiday nail art ideas. You've seen everything from foil to glitter ombré and negative space. So we hope you share our enthusiasm over the latest festive manicure to arise from the holy land of beauty trends, Korea. Or you can strategically position it, covering half of your digits and only the tips. Overall, it's pearly, it's sexy - and you need to try it! Keep reading to see 25 interpretations of the fad.

Beauty Supply, beauty magazine, beautiful homes, beautiful skin: 1 Photographer Travels to 37 Countries to Document Female Beauty

What does beauty look like? Well, it's a complicated question that is subjective based on where you are in the world. One Romanian photographer backpacked around the world for two years to explore the diversity of beauty. Mihaela Noroc's project is called "The Atlas of Beauty." She traveled to 37 countries and almost every continent to capture images of authentic women, and the final result is breathtaking.

"Now I can say that beauty is everywhere, and it's not a matter of cosmetics or sizes but more about being yourself," she wrote. "Global trends make us look and behave the same, but we are all beautiful because we are different. In the end, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and the beholder is always somebody else."

Lately we have seen multiple Photoshop experiments that change one woman's image based on what's considered beautiful around the world, including a biracial experiment and a plus-size spin off. But this photo diary celebrates real women. Each woman is captured in her natural environment - most without makeup - so that you can truly see how varied female beauty can be.

Healthy,Food Magazine,Healthy Recipes,Food Guide :This Instant Iced Coffee Hack Only Takes 2 Minutes

I'm an iced-coffee addict, but my clock and wallet don't always support the habit. Homemade cold-brew coffee is great, but let's be real - no one has time for that, and buying one every day isn't the way to go either. So I set out to find the solution to my caffeine needs, and this iced-coffee hack is it. You can get strong, creamy iced coffee in less than two minutes thanks to one magical ingredient - instant coffee.

I used Colombian instant coffee from Trader Joe's because that's where I shop, but you can use any ground instant coffee you can find. The recipe is beyond easy. First, heat up a couple tablespoons of water (either in the microwave, stovetop, or electric kettle) until boiling. Pour into a glass cup, then mix in a heaping spoonful of the coffee granules.

Fill the cup halfway with your creamer of choice (I used unsweetened almond milk) and a little vanilla bean simple syrup for sweetness (vanilla almond milk would work great, too). Be sure to leave enough room to top with a couple handfuls of ice.

And voilà - you're ready to walk out the door with your homemade iced coffee! This is quick and easy enough to do on busy weekday mornings or a great way to start off the weekend without having to leave your place.

Beauty Supply, beauty magazine, beautiful homes, beautiful skin: This Video of Hair Being Transformed Into a Hat Will Blow Your Mind

If you've ever doubted that styling hair is indeed a true form of art, then this GIF will settle those doubts. This stylist took his creativity beyond dyeing rainbow strands and forming detailed updos to create a life-size fascinator (similar to the ones worn by the royals) completely out of the model's blond mane.

The incredible time lapse shows him starting by separating a section of hair into a pinwheel shape, then teasing and molding her tresses to form the base of a hat. He then pulls in various loops and directions to create a brim and completes it with a dramatic floral accent. The finished result is fascinating!
