There's a Heartbreaking Easter Egg That You Probably Missed on 13 Reasons Why

If you've managed to power your way through the gut-wrenching, emotional roller coaster that is 13 Reasons Why, then you're probably searching for a way to cope. Whether you're exploring similar shows to fill the void, making memes or tributes about your feelings, or giving the series another run-through, there's no escaping the emotional wreckage that 13RW leaves behind. And prepare for another round of feelings, because there's a heartbreaking Easter egg - errrr, bunny - on the show that you probably didn't catch the first time around.

Remember those adorable bunny notes that Clay Jensen left in Hannah's communications class compliment bag? Well, an eagle-eyed Twitter user noticed one hanging on Hannah's makeshift locker shrine, tucked among notes and trinkets from grieving students.

We went back to the Zach-focused episode to get another glimpse at Clay's bunny drawings for Hannah, then compared them to the bunny on Hannah's locker in the premiere episode. Sure enough, the style of the two rabbit cartoons is the same. See below:

That means that, sometime before the start of the present-day storyline, Clay had drawn another bunny for Hannah and hung it on her locker. That, or Zach (who had started stealing Hannah's compliments, Clay's drawings included) posted one that he had previously nicked from her communications class pouch. However, considering that Clay stares at Hannah's locker for an extended period in episode one without reacting to the drawing, the latter is unlikely.

Either way, this detail explains - beyond the obvious, which is that he is deeply grieving - why Clay has such a breakdown when he notices that Hannah's locker has been cleaned and reassigned. His last physical gesture of affection for her, the bunny drawing, has been cleared away as well.

Now, excuse us while we go cry all over again.

5 Phone Interview Mistakes and How to Fix Them

After actually submitting a job application, a phone screen is the first step in landing your dream job. Even though it's a short and simple process, it can be extremely nerve wracking. After screening hundreds of candidates for POPSUGAR, I've gained plenty of insight into what makes a successful phone screen. Here's what you could be getting wrong and some tips on how to do better.

You're rambling

Phone screens are simple! All a recruiter needs to hear from you is a basic rundown of your experience and why it's relevant to the job you're applying for. Prepare a 3-5 minute pitch explaining your career progression, and what led you to apply for this job. You don't need to give a play-by-play of every single task you did for each job - only highlight projects, tasks, or accomplishments that are directly related to the role you are speaking about.

You're not showing your enthusiasm

If you really want a job, your enthusiasm will shine through during the conversation. Recruiters read people well, and they speak to countless numbers of people . . . it's very obvious if this is a role you're passionate about versus a role that you're just applying for. I can tell you that out of every single role I've screened, I can still remember the enthusiasm I felt from the candidate that ended up landing the job. I can also remember candidates who tell me they want the job because "the office is cool," "you have good snacks," or "someone told me it's a good company." You can be enthusiastic about the role, the company, the industry - just be enthusiastic. Passion is important.

You aren't showing off your qualifications

I read plenty of resumes that lead me to believe the candidate can totally do the job at hand. As recruiters, we know what we're looking for, and we're only going to take time to talk to people who could be a great fit. Sometimes I'll be excited about an applicant's resume, and then once I actually get on the phone with that person, the conversation totally falls flat. I understand why people are shy - phone screens can be awkward AF - but make sure you're highlighting your relevant experience, even if it doesn't come up in the conversation. Always remember: if a recruiter is calling you, it means they see something promising in your experience. It's up to you to show them that they're right.

You really just might not be qualified . . .

On the flip side, sometimes recruiters will see something on your resume they think makes you qualified for the job, but after your conversation they realize it's not the case. Don't sweat this or take it personally, some things just aren't meant to be. As long as you've done your research on the company and the role and have explained why you think you're a fit, you've done everything you can possibly do.

You're making it weird

Recruiters are typically approachable and personable people, so it's easy to feel comfortable when you're talking to them, but don't play yourself. It's extremely important to be who you are and show your personality, but there is a fine line between being yourself and going overboard. Always remember that you are interviewing for a job, so keep it professional at all times - no super personal stories or anecdotes, and never say something in a screen that you wouldn't say to your current boss.

Jimmy Kimmel Slams United Airlines After Dragging Passenger Off Flight

Jimmy Kimmel had a lot to say about a video that was released this week showing a passenger being violently dragged off a United Airlines flight. In addition to calling out United's Twitter statement, in which the company apologized for "having to reaccommodate" its customers, the late-night host also created a fake commercial, mocking the airline's safety guidelines. "We'll beat you so badly you'll be using your own face as a flotation device," a flight attendant says in the ad. Check it out above now!

Blake Lively Proudly Channeled a Disney Villain in This Outfit

We took one look at Blake Lively's outfit in New York City and immediately smiled. Not only did she glow in the Michael Kors Collection ensemble that she wore to film a Glamour video with the designer, but she pulled off the difficult art of print mixing. Her wool coat, furry cardigan, and midi skirt featured a variety of designs that, somehow, looked amazing together. We gather this is because Blake stuck to a black-and-white color palette, so the three pieces wouldn't clash. The star finished the look with a pair of white pumps and sunglasses.

But there's something you should know about Blake's outfit. The star not only gave Michael Kors a shout-out on Instagram, but confirmed her look was inspired by Disney villain Cruella de Vil. "Thank you @michaelkors for another epic day. Love always, Cruella," she wrote. The black-and-white color scheme was an obvious nod to Cruella, and we aren't surprised. Blake has a history of channeling Disney characters. Scroll to see her outfit from all angles, then shop similar pieces to mix and match on your own.

Britney Relaxes on the Beach as We Freak Out Over Those JT Reunion Rumors

Britney Spears showed off her toned (and tanned) body while on the beach in Kauai, HI on Monday. The singer appeared to be having a ball as she walked along the sand in a white bikini and relaxed near the water with her mom, Lynne, and sons Sean and Jayden. That same day, Britney shared a sweet video montage from their fun day on the island, including a drive through town and an afternoon wading in the ocean.

It was announced this week that Britney is ending her Las Vegas residency, Piece of Me, in December after four years of gracing the stage at Planet Hollywood. Another bit of recent news, while less official, also has Britney fans in a tizzy - eagle-eyed fans noticed that producer Timbaland, who is current working with Justin Timberlake on his new album, went on ahead and liked over 100 old photos of him and Britney on multiple fan accounts, whipping up rumors that the trio could be collaborating on music together. It could come at a perfect time, as fans are already hyped for a follow-up to Justin's 20/20 Experience, and Britney could spend the bulk of next year working on her tenth studio album. Now, if you'll excuse us, we'll be looking back on these throwback photos of Britney and Justin as a couple as we await confirmation of this blessed possible musical event.

If You've Ever Gotten Into a Fight at Ikea, You'll Appreciate This "Hack"

Pat Benatar may have gotten it wrong - love isn't a battlefield, Ikea is. You know this to be true if you've ever gotten into a fight with your significant other while shopping for furniture and home decor products. On his account Obvious Plant, comedian Jeff Wysask shared one genius solution to this common problem: a relationship-saving station.

On Facebook, Jeff shared pictures of his proposed station which, by the way, he somehow managed to demonstrate in real life at an Ikea. The station basically offers couples five ways to lighten the mood or ease tension. First, you can get it all out and yell at a tiny horse figurine. If that's too aggressive for you, you can also stare at a picture of a tiny puppy, put on a milk hat and crack up, or blow bubbles. If all else fails, you can also write down your grievances on a piece of paper and drop it in Queen Elsa's jar so that she can let it go for you.

Look ahead for pictures of the relationship-saving station and, next time you're stressing out at Ikea, just visualize that tiny puppy and all will be right again.

13 Reasons Why Fans Are Using Nail Polish to Send a Powerful Message

Warning: The following contains spoilers related to 13 Reasons Why

"Hello, boys and girls. Hannah Baker here. Live and in stereo." So begins the emotional roller coaster of runaway Netflix hit 13 Reasons Why, which is - first and foremost - a tragic story of teen suicide. While there are so many important moments from the series, many fans of the show are flocking to one particular symbol of solidarity for their favorite character, protagonist Hannah Baker.

Because Hannah paints her nails a vivid blue during a pivotal scene involving her eventual suicide, bright blue lacquer (such as SinfulColors' Endless Blue) has become a tribute to her character and a symbol of suicide awareness within the 13 Reasons Why fan community. From Instagram users marathoning the show on Netflix to producer Selena Gomez, who rocked bright blue nails on the red carpet for the show's premiere, choosing a blue polish has become a simple statement of solidarity with the struggle of those grappling with suicide. Using #bluefor13RW and #blueforhannah, fans are showing off their manicures to let followers know that they are there to listen and understand the struggle.

Read on for images of the blue manicures, then check out other stories about the show to get inspired.

This Mom Is Sick of Being "Pump Shamed" by Everyone Around Her

As one mom gets ready to celebrate her baby's first month of life, she's speaking out against those who have shamed her parenting choices.

The unnamed mom explained that her baby was premature and that he spent his first week at the hospital doing light therapy in hopes of improving his bilirubin numbers. "The initial day or two I struggled to get a good latch with him," she shared on Reddit. "The nurses finally caved and gave me a nipple shield and he latched better and had a good suck, but the jaundice kept him lethargic and he dropped to 4 pounds, 4 ounces."

After that, she began exclusively pumping, and as his condition improved, she continued to pump and measure his feedings at home. By week three, she said his weight had increased to 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and this mom was beyond proud of what she and her baby boy had accomplished. "Our pediatrician was ecstatic, and commented that we must have gotten the breastfeeding down. I mentioned that he was rarely actually on the boob, and I pumped all his feedings," she said. "You would have thought I told him I was feeding him soda."

But the shaming didn't stop there. "I saw two lactation consultants who both asked me what the point of going through pumping every meal was when I could just do formula that way," she wrote. "They couldn't understand that my end goal was not to be back on the boob, but to have a fed, happy child."

According to this new mom, her cousin and other family member also agree that she is doing something wrong and feel bad for her that she'll never know "the joy breastfeeding brings." Before her baby was born, this mama knew that people were going to have varying opinions on breastfeeding versus formula, but her experience has been worse that what she could've imagined. "I did not realize the amount of push-back I'd get for exclusively pumping . . . and I expect better from my health professionals," she wrote.

It's hard enough to know whether she's making the right call for her and her baby, but this mom is trusting herself and is working to support other new parents even if her own network isn't there for her. "My child is fed. He is happy. He's gaining weight and at this moment he is sh*tting the f*ck out of his current diaper. I went back to work at 13 days postpartum and I have over 200 ounces of milk stashed already," she wrote. "I will offer nothing but support to mamas and papas out there, because f*ck if this isn't hard enough without drawing lines in the sand."

These Pretty Pink Adidas Are the Stuff Millennial Dreams Are Made Of

We're already suckers for a cool sneaker we can wear with anything, but cover it in the subtle pink color that's garnered the following of an entire generation, and Adidas may just be inciting a fashion-girl freak-out over its pastel-hued NMDs. The NMD body has already generated a following from both fitness and fashion fans, but the covetable color puts this pair in a league of their own. They're like the holy grail of street style wear, seamlessly blending a trending silhouette and palette into a single must-have piece.

The only downside is the increasing difficulty to actually get your hands on a pair. (These, for instance, are already sold out on Adidas's website.) That said, persistence pays off (if you're willing to scour the internet). Just be warned stalking these NMDs may lead to a full-blown obsession, for which there is no known support group.

Sean Spicer Has a Terribly Skewed and Inaccurate Understanding of Hitler

In an astounding display of historical ignorance, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has proven, once again, his incompetence. He's also proven that he maybe never took a history class or even simply learned the basic facts of World War II.

On April 11, Spicer responded to a reporter's question about Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's use of chemical weapons on civilians last week by comparing al-Assad to German dictator Adolf Hitler. Spicer attempted to suggest that Hitler - who, as you might recall, callously slaughtered more than 6 million people in the Holocaust - was somehow not "as bad" as al-Assad. In doing so, he displayed an offensive ignorance of some of Hitler's most atrocious crimes.

"You had someone as despicable as Hitler who didn't even sink to using chemical weapons," Spicer said during the press conference. Not only is Spicer's comment inaccurate, it's bizarre that someone of his position would sincerely believe Hitler did not "gas his own people." Hitler's concentration camps were responsible, via mass "showers" turned gas chambers, for the murder of millions - using a lethal gas called Zyklon B.

While it's true Hitler did not drop sarin from an airplane like Assad allegedly did, the German tyrant certainly gassed his own people. Even when Spicer was questioned again, in the same press conference about his comments, his clarification did not suggest any different understanding of Nazi Germany.

"He was not using the gas on his own people the same way that Assad is doing," Spicer told the reporters. The only way this statement could be interpreted truthfully is if Spicer's never uttered his previous comments. Hitler, again, absolutely did not use gas the same way Assad has - it's decidedly worse - but Spicer's remark is ostensibly intended to imply Assad is worse than Hitler.

Adding insult to injury, Spicer also referred to concentration camps as "Holocaust centers." Endeavoring a third time to elucidate his remarks, Spicer released another statement about his remarks. The third comment, again, clarified almost nothing.

"In no way was I trying to lessen the horrendous nature of the Holocaust," Spicer's statement read. "I was trying to draw a contrast of the tactic of using airplanes to drop chemical weapons on innocent people."

Twitter, abundant with clapbacks, responded to Spicer's ignorance accordingly.

You Can Shop Victoria Beckham For Target Right Now

For the first time ever, Victoria Beckham is trying her hand at children's wear. But that's not the only reason we're excited about her Target collection, which includes over 200 items for ladies and kids (from $6-$70). Victoria chose to base her new pieces on the playfulness in her Victoria, Victoria Beckham line. That means a range that's as wearable as it is bold - and the pictures inside are the proof. Plus, for the first time ever, every size is available in stores and online, ranging from XS to 3X for women and newborn to XL for babies, toddlers, and girls. Victoria even plans to sell select designs on her own site, so customers can shop internationally.

"I can reach so many more women through working with Target. It's not just because of the price point but because of how many stores that they have, located all around America. These are women that I haven't been able to reach out to in the past, and I always say that I want to empower women and make women look like the best versions of themselves. That shouldn't be only people who can afford to spend a certain amount of money," Victoria told Business of Fashion.

Read on to see the full collection and start adding to your cart, then check out all the chaos the collaboration caused at the stores, along with the pieces already available on eBay.

The 1 Thing You Should Never Say to a Woman Over 30

Last week, I struck up a conversation with my Uber driver. As the conversation continued around politics, he made an assumption that we were close in age, saying as someone in her late twenties/early thirties, surely I could relate. I pointed out that I'm actually in my mid-forties (I'll be 45 in June), at which the driver abruptly adjusted the rearview mirror with shock and said, "There is NO WAY you're that old! You don't look your age!"

This situation happens to me often. I know he meant it as a sincere compliment, but I'm troubled by the concept that somehow I'm winning at life because I don't have more visible, external signs of aging. It seems after a certain age, "You don't look your age!" is supposed to be the Mother of All Compliments, feathered in a soft nest of "I would never have guessed!" and "OMG, are you serious?" While I appreciate the flattery, I'm always left with a very uneasy feeling: what does that say about how we feel about women and aging?

What makes this well-meaning compliment so unsettling is it implies there's something wrong with looking middle-aged or older. We live in a youth-obsessed culture. It's almost as if we have invisible expiration dates on our skin, and any sign of wear and tear sets off an alarm. The catalyst makes us feel suddenly shamed and expendable.

Our societal thirst for youth is undeniable. Entire magazines dedicated to "The Age Issue." Intense media scrutiny on the appearance of every woman in the public eye, as parodied by Amy Schumer, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and others in "Last F*ckable Day." And the beauty business wages a full-scale war on time, complete with antiaging weaponry meant to eradicate, decimate, and bury all evidence that a woman might be getting older, like "age-defying lasers" and "miracle worker" eye creams. Every day, I watch women battling time with everything they've got, attempting to stay in the same jeans from high school while pushing foreign matter into their faces in order to literally freeze everything right where it is today, forever and ever more.

The fear of being seen as anything less than sexually viable, the palpable threat of being traded in for a younger model, the intense messaging that we're going to die alone if we show a crack in the armor of our skin - all of it is crushing, pervasive, and punishing. We treat women like the newest release of the iPhone: just wait a minute, because we've got a hot newer model coming, and she's so much sexier than your old one that we've made the old model obsolete.

I find this incredibly disturbing. The lines running across my forehead mimic those of my father's. And I can't imagine doing something to get rid of them. Recently, I discovered the magical power of rainbow-colored hair, and I defy someone telling me I'm too old to have it. My jawline and breasts are slowly descending, and outside of exercise, good bras, and products, I'm letting them continue on their path. I truly find softness truly sexy. But I am worried about the women my age (or older) and for the young impressionable girls who are imprinted with an unnecessary fear of aging.

My age is awesome. I know so much more than I have ever known before. The light that shines within my skin is knowledge of how amazing life can be if you just hang in there. I laugh more easily, and I'm so much better in bed because I know my body. My soul, wit, intelligence - the very spark of life within me makes for my vibrancy. I feel like I've done a pretty damned good job taking care of myself. I come from a long line of extraordinary black women who take incredible pride in appearance, and we all have daily rituals that reinforce that sentiment.

"The less you do to your face, the less you will ever have to do to you face," is a mantra my mother once said. I swear by it. I don't wear a lot of makeup, I cleanse, I treat, I moisturize; repeat daily. Outside of that, I've never had anything "done" (re: cosmetic dermatology). The only needles near my face have involved piercing my ears and dental work, and the only surgery has been wisdom teeth removal. No fillers, no nothing. It's real, and it's all mine.

That said, I did start using products at the young age of 9 years old, when my Olay-obsessed Aunt Bert used to slather my face with the legendary cream. I would stand on the stool in her bathroom as she performed her nightly beauty ritual.

Image Source: Courtesy of Kristin Booker

At first, I used moisturizers as a teenager to offset the drying effects of cleansers and astringents. And that routine has now evolved into a twice-daily regimen of cleansing, serums, and moisturizers. My regiment has guest-starring appearances from other products weekly, because I test so many things. But the mainstays remain SkinCeuticals Gentle Cleanser ($34), Simple Cleansing Micellar Water ($7), Kiehl's Since 1851 Midnight Recovery Concentrate ($72), and, you guessed it, Olay Moisturizing Lotion For Sensitive Skin ($10).

I also admit to spending a ridiculous amount on night creams (my desert island products would be Erno Laszlo Luminous C10 Night Treatment ($135) and SkinMedica TNS Eye Repair ($102).

Since there's no beauty cream or cosmetic procedure that can cure our obsession with youth, I'd like to propose a different solution: awareness. Instead of telling a woman she doesn't look her age, just tell her she looks good. Really good. "Wow, you're beautiful," is something every single person on the planet recognizes as sincere currency, and we can live off that bank of positive energy for days.

Also, accomplishments, goals, dreams, and intelligence are incredibly beautiful. Women living unapologetically, like Angela Bassett, Halle Berry, Oprah Winfrey, Lauren Hutton, Meryl Streep, and Rita Moreno, are vibrant, exquisite beings. Smart brands are starting to recognize the sensuality that comes from a life of experience. Marc Jacobs embracing Jessica Lange, Joan Didion in a Céline campaign, NARS featuring Charlotte Rampling, and most recently Lancome signing on Isabella Rossellini are all steps in the right direction.

The childish fear of the inevitable end of our lives is forcing us to take extraordinary measures that don't celebrate women. Ladies, if you're with people who don't see the sum of your beauty, ditch them and find your tribe of women who are as juicy and amazing as you. Same goes for the men in your life. Someone out there will love you right as you are . . . no further assembly required.

It's time for a new standard of beauty. Let's all look amazing, regardless of our age. The ultimate compliment is to recognize all of what's in front of you, inside and out. Every single woman has something to bring to the party, and it's time we celebrate that in all its glory.
