If This Is What "Mom Hair" Looks Like, Adele Just Convinced Us to Try It

If you have yet to see Adele's Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden, stop what you're doing and watch it right now. If you have viewed it, you know that in the hilarious 15-minute clip, Adele blessed us with her flawless pipes as she effortlessly belted out some of her tunes, including "Hello."
Not only did we learn that she has some serious rap skills after she perfectly recited Nicki Minaj's classic "Monster" verse, we also discovered that she might be having second thoughts about her new shaggy lob.
Adele expressed slight worry that her new haircut looks like a dated "mum bob." We totally understand the doubt that comes with trying out a new look, but we're pretty sure the singer's fears are unfounded. She admitted that her shorter style is easier to manage than sporting wigs and her signature bouffants, making it the perfect style for the young mom.
That said, though she is a new mother, this trendy cut is anything but matronly. If her style is what she calls a "mum bob," we're making an appointment with our stylist, stat - because we want one, too. Considering how amazing she looks, we're expecting to see a lot more fans copying her style in 2016.
A Comparative Tasting of the Country's Best Bourbons

During a previous Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, CO, I spotted a bourbon bar filled with many fine bourbons of which I had never had the opportunity to try. Without hesitation, I plopped myself down and made friends with the bartender. The conditions were a little rough: the sun was in my eyes; I drank out of a wine glass; I kept falling out of my bar stool trying to capture the perfect angle of each bottle with my cumbersome camera. Ultimately, though, the liquid gold was worth it. Keep reading to see tasting notes, favorites, and some cocktail suggestions.
To Zoodles and Beyond: 20 Spiralizer Recipes That Do Not Disappoint

There's nothing the food-loving blogosphere loves quite as much as zoodles, aka noodles made from spiralized zucchini. Touted as a healthy alternative to traditional pastas, zucchini noodles have a similarly remarkable ability to absorb flavors and add texture. Except this version is remarkably lower in calories. But while we're all for the healthy alternative that zoodles provide, you're not doing your spiralizer justice if this is the only thing you're using it for. In fact, the power of your spiralizer - and the recipes you can make with it – is endless: sweet potato noodles, potato twisters, beet spaghetti, and more. You name it, there's a good chance you can spiralize it - and turn it into a restaurant-worthy dish.
Every Single Chipotle Restaurant Will Be Closed For 1 Day This Year

Brace yourselves, Chipotle-lovers - this news may ruin your day (or month). On Feb. 8, Chipotle will be closing every location for a national all-employee meeting to address the E. coli outbreak that caused 43 stores to close in November. Although people continue to frequent Chipotle despite the outbreak, the chain has yet to determine the initial cause of the problem. "I'm hopeful that the CDC will call this over soon. We know that Chipotle is as safe as it's ever been before," said Chipotle CEO Steve Ells.
Yes, the thought of a day without Chipotle is heartbreaking, but sacrificing business for the health and safety of its patrons is certainly the right move. And if you're at a loss when lunchtime rolls around, don't worry - we've got Chipotle's guacamole recipe covered.

But that doesn't mean the looks were boring - you won't believe how naturally stunning these celebrities are! In anticipation of this year's show, get a closer look at how your favorite actresses hit the red carpet in 2015.

If You Like Tacos, This New Taco Diet Cleanse Is For You

Ditch that boring juice cleanse for this satisfying and delicious taco cleanse. From our friends at YourTango, get happy and enjoy eating tasty food - guilt free.
Sign us up, STAT.
Cleanses can be challenging. You have to be careful that you're getting the right nutrients and vitamins while detoxing your body. And then there's the whole not eating factor of some cleanses. Sure it might be good for you, but it's still torture.
But finally there's a detox cleanse that doesn't make you suffer while doing something healthy for your body. It's called The Taco Cleanse, and was created by Wes Allison, Stephanie Bogdanich, Molly R. Frisinger and Jessica Morris. Not only do you get to eat yummy tacos for every meal, bur you're allowed (and strongly encouraged) to drink alcohol.
The Taco Cleanse isn't about losing weight or getting into your skinny jeans; it's about feeling satisfied, happy and enjoying eating delicious food, guilt free. You may wonder how you can eat tacos for every meal and not feel a tinge of guilt. Everyone loves tacos, but they're not usually referred to as healthy.
You'll feel good about the tacos, since all the recipes are vegan. Plant-based diets are rich in vitamins, tend to be low in saturated fat, high in fiber, and packed with antioxidants, which help to mitigate health issues like obesity, heart disease, diabetes and cancer.
You can begin with the "Mild" one-day cleanse (tacos for every meal), or go all in with a "Fuego" cleanse, which is the full 30-day experience.
Plus, the variety of tacos is astonishing, with ingredients such as tofu, tempeh, jackfruit, winter squash, beans, bulgar, rice and vegetables, with instructions on how to put them all together in creative ways. You learn how to make vegan bacon and vegan nacho cheese, and the cleanse features unique recipes for things like mac and cheese tacos, tater tot tacos, and waffle tacos.
As you might suspect, the book is written with a sense of humor and fun. The recipes and plan are legitimate, and guarantee that you'll have more fun on this cleanse than you would on a juice cleanse.
All the recipes in the book look delicious, and even if you aren't vegan it's good for you to go meatless every now and then. The benefits of this cleanse are numerous: the breakfast taco gets rid of the previous night's diet fails, and a lunch taco can uplift your root chakra. There are even dessert tacos so you won't feel deprived.
You won't need to wait after you've finished your cleanse to celebrate with a margarita.

If You Only Do 1 Thing to Lose Weight in 2016, This Has to Be It

You've tried everything, but this year is going to be different. This is the year that you're finally getting down to business and losing the weight you've gained, whether it was from too many slices of pizza and beer in college, stuborn pregnancy weight, or that "food baby" you've been growing with pints of ice cream. You've had enough, and although you know there's no easy fix, we asked certified dietitian Leslie Langevin, MS, RD, CD of Whole Health Nutrition to share the one simple thing you need to do to jump-start your weight loss and start seeing results.
We might as well have asked our mothers, because her advice is the same: to "eat more vegetables." There are so many reasons to eat them - they're low in calories and many are also low in carbs. The high-water content and all the chewing it takes to break vegetables down in your mouth can help you feel full faster, so you eat less food overall. Plus the high amount of fiber in veggies will keep you feeling full for longer to prevent snacking later.
Eating more veggies is a growing trend, and it seems that in 2016, plants will be the new meat, moving veggies from the side of the plate to the center. The easiest way to eat more veggies is to include them in every meal and snack - even breakfast. Not sure how to snack on veggies aside from hitting the salad bar or ordering a side of sweet potato fries? Check out the ideas below to get you onboard the all-day veggie train.

Feel Balanced at Yoga With These Double Dutch French Braids

January is notoriously the busiest month for gym-goers; and if you're committing to better fitness habits this year, then you should do it with style. Bobbi Brown makeup artist Kim Soane painted the faces of our fitness blogger models, Chase Lindsay Rosen of Athleisurely and Evann Clingan of her eponymous site, using long-wear, waterproof products. Everything was photographed at the iconic Chelsea Piers, which boasts a bevy of creative sweat-inducing classes. Another Chill Day, Another Chance to Take Care of Yourself

By now, you get it - rest days are important, but moving around a bit is a good thing. Today in our Just Press Play workout plan, we suggest a little light cardio to get your blood moving, followed by a bit of stretching. You worked your abs hard yesterday, and the front of your hips might be tight. Stretch that area effectively by adding a twist to your typical runner's lunge.
- Start in a deep lunge with your right foot forward, with your hands on either side of your right foot, and your left knee on the floor. If this is enough of a stretch for you, stay here.
- To increase the stretch, reach through your left heel, straightening your left knee to bring it off the floor. Put all your weight into your left hand, and twist through your torso, bringing your right arm to the ceiling.
- Hold this position for 30 seconds, then switch sides.

How to Prep Cauliflower Steaks, in Pictures
The path from a humble head of cauliflower to a restaurant-worthy cauliflower steak is simpler than you'd imagine. But before you get your pan all in a sizzle, ready to transform the cruciferous veggie from crisp and creamy white to tender with a mahogany-brown tinge, let's master some knife work.
Shop Right
For the best results, choose a head of cauliflower with a tight crown - look for florets that are clustered tightly together. Loosely spaced florets are less likely to slice up into intact steaks.
Remove the Stem and Leaves
Before you slice away the stem end of the cauliflower, break off any large outer leaves. Then turn the cauliflower on its side and slice off the stem flush with the base of the crown. Remove any remaining leaves, and discard.
Trim Into a Rough Rectangle
Flip the cauliflower onto its (now flat) base, and trim roughly one inch off of two of the sides to form a rough rectangle. Reserve the florets for another use.
Slice Into Steaks
Slice down the middle, parallel to the straight, trimmed-away edges of the crown. Then slice each half into two equal steaks. Reserve any florets that fall away for another use.

6 Things Models Always Do to Achieve Flawless Skin

If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing a model up close and personal, take our word for it: nearly every single one has flawless skin that looks like it's been photoshopped. But when we've asked these catwalkers what products they use in order to achieve complexion perfection, the answers have been impossibly simplistic. No peels or retinoids here - we've found that most models stick to the holy trinity of rosewater, Bioderma, and coconut oil.
Turns out, we were asking the wrong question - it's not what they use on their skin but what they do that keeps their faces fabulous. And who better to get the scoop from than a model-approved facialist? We asked Ildi Pekar, the esthetician of Lindsay Ellingson, Miranda Kerr, and Irina Shayk (just to name a glamorous few) what her clients do on the regular for glowing skin.

5 Reasons Not to Call It a "Cheat Meal"

We've all been there. And since we're two weeks deep into our New Year's resolutions, many of us are there right now (or will be this weekend). You've made a vow to eat better. No sweets. No booze. No fast food. No mac and cheese (a single tear rolls down my cheek). But it's not sustainable. There's that party this weekend, that catered lunch at work, that stressful day that can only be tolerated with the promise of a glass of wine (or three). So we make a deal with ourselves. We'll break our diet, but just this once. We call it a "cheat meal," which makes us feel a little naughty but also like we're allowed this occasional indulgence. I'm not here to argue that we're not, in fact, allowed an occasional indulgence, but I do think it's time to do away with calling it a "cheat meal." Here are five reasons why:
1. No one likes a name-caller
If you've ever told someone not to label you, it's time you take your own advice here. When you indulge in some junk food and call it a "cheat meal," you're basically calling yourself a cheater, and potentially creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more you tell yourself that you're cheating, the more you subconsciously think of yourself as someone who cheats: a cheater. You're not a cheater. Don't call yourself names.
2. You're the boss of your body
The "rules" of healthy eating vary widely depending on who you ask. From vegan to Paleo and everything in between, it's ultimately up to you to choose what works best for you and makes you feel healthiest. And once you take responsibility for owning that, the only person that you can possibly "cheat" is yourself.
3. Honesty is the best policy
So, if you can't call it a "cheat meal," what should you call it? A choice! Ask yourself if you can complete this sentence the next time you're thinking about reaching for a doughnut: I am choosing to eat this because __________________. It's truly the only option available? It sounds so good and I just can't resist it? I'm feeling down/bored/stressed and I think this will solve my problems? When we force ourselves to be honest, we often expose what's behind our choice to indulge. When we understand our decision-making process we are able to make better decisions in the future. Own your choice.
4. Flip the script on entitlement
Do you justify your cheat meal by telling yourself that you "deserve" it? Here's the thing: you actually deserve better. You deserve to feel energized, healthy, and confident. I believe that there's room in any diet for a little bit of indulgence, but I don't believe that it's healthy to use that indulgence as a reward when you feel you deserve it. The next time you're tempted to stuff your face because you "deserve" it, try this instead: "I deserve to feel good about myself. Not just in this moment, but in the long run." What can you reward yourself with that lives up to that version of entitlement? (Hint: Not mac and cheese)
5. Plan your work, work your plan
My general rule of thumb for allowing myself the occasional treat is that I have to look forward to it. That eliminates the fast food burger because I forgot to pack a lunch to work, or the pastries that magically show up in the break room, or the glass of wine that suddenly seems necessary as soon as I get home. Those are impulsive choices that not only derail my diet, but do so in an instant, without much thought or real enjoyment. If I know that I have a party to attend this weekend, though, or a brunch with girlfriends, I'll decide at the beginning of the week that I'm going to enjoy the menu and treat myself to what sounds good. Not only does it make it easier to stay on track all week knowing that pancakes are in my future, but it allows me to enjoy those pancakes without feeling like a cheater. These are planned pancakes. Don't be a cheater, be a planner.
I don't want to live in a world without mac and cheese. Or doughnuts. But I refuse to let my mental and physical well-being suffer because I keep cheating myself out of the chance to enjoy them in a way that honors what I truly deserve: to feel good about myself, inside and out.

Why I Gladly Spent $800 on the Most Perfect Hair Extensions
Something magical happened to me the month before my wedding, and it wasn't just the idea that I was going to marry my soul mate. I discovered hair extensions, and for better or worse, they changed my life forever. (Apologies if that sounds melodramatic, but it's true!)
To put it bluntly, hair extensions are the nose job my mane always needed. I was born with fine, flat locks that return to their natural state the second I leave Drybar. Until that glorious day at Bumble and Bumble, one month before my wedding, when a talented stylist painstakingly bonded Great Lengths extensions into my hair. Great Lengths extensions are made from gorgeous, human hair, and they are fused to small sections of one's real hair with pure keratin.
The process takes about three hours and costs around $1,200. At the time, I thought it was worth every penny. I left the salon with the hair I always wanted and never thought I could have. It was long, lustrous, and it held blowouts for multiple days. It was perfect. And as a lifestyle blogger and stylist, I quickly realized flawless hair was the one accessory I never knew I needed. Something about my new, cascading waves made everything brighter: my outfits looked better, I was more photogenic, and my extra hair seemed to give me extra confidence, too.
But unfortunately, some love stories must come to an end. (And luckily, in this case I'm not referring to my marriage!) In my opinion, Great Lengths has one major flaw: it can fall out. And it can fall out at inopportune times. Like that time I was meeting a co-worker at the Plaza Food Hall for lunch, and I had to discretely tuck a long strand of hair into my purse. How does that happen? Well, since everyone's hair naturally sheds, sometimes the extensions come along for the ride.
Taking out hair extensions is also time-consuming. A removal gel is applied to each of the bonds and rubbed into your hair until the bond breaks down and slides off. This process could take over an hour if you have a full head of extensions. But I was willing to look past these flaws until I decided to get pregnant and go au natural. (And by au natural, I mean I went to Ricky's, bought some clip-ins, and had a stylist cut and color them to match my hair to get me through nine salon-free months.)
I used the clip-ins throughout my pregnancy and for three more months after my beautiful baby girl was born. But I missed the ease of waking up with a full head of perfect hair that I could refresh with a quick spritz of dry shampoo. So back to Bumble I went, and my stylist, Carrie Hill, introduced me to a new tape extension that the salon launched last Fall. To be honest, I had my doubts about sticking tape onto my hair. But after several applications and removals, I'm officially hooked. Keep reading to learn more about this salon process and discover if it's right for you!
