Kris Jenner Just Purchased Yet Another Property - but It's Not Quite What You're Expecting
Kris Jenner just dropped big bucks ($2.2 million of them, to be exact) on a house that is . . . totally not what you would expect from the glamorous matriarch. The glowing Calabasas, CA, property is relatively calm compared to the two-bedroom bachelorette condo she snagged back in December.
Her recent four-bed, five-bath purchase was built in 2005 and spans nearly 4,300 square feet. While it is rumored that she purchased the pad for her son, Rob, the gorgeous residence excudes an all-American, contemporary vibe that a large family or a single person will immediately fall in love with.
It comes decked in cozy garb, a fireplace, and a formal family room overlooked by a welcoming kitchen laced in stainless-steel appliances. The space also features a large dining room with a glistening wooden table perfect for hosting large parties and her famous family.
Of course, it wouldn't be a Kardashian property without a luxe pool in the backyard and an outdoor spa to catch some R&R when her adorable grandkids stop by. While we'd love to spend a weekend hanging with our gals in Kris's fun condo, this snug abode has us wanting to ditch our spot and move in for good. Keep on reading to see more shots of the beautiful property.
Forget Cabo - Meet Mexico's Best-Kept Secret!
If you'd choose an evening of stargazing on a secluded beach over a hazy night of tequila guzzling, allow us to spill the beans on one of Baja's best-kept secrets, Rancho Pescadero.
Forget the all-inclusive megaresorts; this boutique hotel, located just outside of Todos Santos, Mexico, offers a different route to self-indulgence. Daily yoga classes and bike and surfboard use are on the house; the hotel's private, two-mile stretch of beach is usually empty (yup, no time-share peddlers); in-suite televisions are nonexistent; and the locavore-inspired menu takes advantage of whatever is fresh from the hotel's garden or surrounding seawater.
Still, Rancho Pescadero's slightly crunchy, feel-good mantra doesn't infringe on comfort or style. Founder and owner Lisa Harper melded her success in the corporate fashion industry with her penchant for flipping houses to create the hotel's earthy yet elegant aesthetic.
In the suites, mosquito-netted canopies, glass doors that slide into the walls, and thatch-roof terraces provide stylish havens for relaxation.
Depending on the suite you book, you can enjoy surprise perks like private rooftop decks, jetted tubs under Mexican chandeliers, or full gourmet kitchens.
In the restaurant, oil paintings depicting caballero life pop against the vibrant red walls.
In the outdoor lobby, fishing poles hung near cowhide chairs hint at some of the excursions offered. Catch something at sea, and the hotel's chef will transform it into a tasty ceviche or entrée for you.
Blue lanterns lit at dusk illuminate the entrance.
Adjacent to the poolside bar is a seating nook outfitted with patterned pillows and ikat cube tables that glow at night. If you're feeling adventurous, order the daily drink special - then snag a spot at the pool!
Bring a good read or a game from your suite to enjoy poolside. Tip: the main pool is one of the best spots for WiFi.
For an even more serene atmosphere, head to the property's second pool.
A skull resting against a brick-colored wall perfectly captures Rancho Pescadero's look: artful yet effortless, authentic but modern.
The hotel is just a two-minute stroll from the beach through a palm-tree grove. Keep an eye out for the towering cacti - birds love to perch on them!
The ocean at twilight.
Mini cabanas with fire pits provide cozy places to watch the sunset.

Does What Your Dog Eats Actually Affect His Teeth?
As humans, we are told time and time again that certain foods will damage our teeth. I mean, how many times have our parents scared us away from candy by telling us it'll rot our teeth right out of our heads? We wanted to know, though, if that carried over to our dogs, and what better time to examine that than National Pet Dental Health Month, which is happening right now.
We checked in with a couple of vets to get their expertise on diet and dental health, and both of them basically told us the same thing.
"I'd like to debunk the old wives' tale that dry food helps keep the teeth clean of plaque and tartar," said Dr. Taylor Truitt, DVM of The Vet Set in New York. She continued by saying that the only way a dry food will affect a dog's teeth is if it's a prescription food.
Banfield vet Dr. Andrea Sanchez agreed with Dr. Truitt and said, to her knowledge, the only food that will affect dogs' teeth is Greenies treats, which are a dental treat made to clean teeth.
Other than that, though, both vets say that a dog's food will not significantly affect its health, especially if you're brushing regularly. A healthy diet combined with proper teeth-brushing habits is the perfect combination for excellent dental health!
People Have VERY Strong Feelings About How Julia Child's French Home Is Being Used
It looks like Julia Child's quaint cottage in Provence, France, has a new owner. Makenna Johnston, a self-employed business strategist and life coach, purchased the home and has big plans for its future. Affectionately referred to as "La Pitchoune," which translates to "the little one," the four-bedroom home belonged to the iconic chef from its construction in 1963 until it was converted into the Cooking With Friends in France culinary school in 1992. Johnston intends to take the home back to its roots by transforming it into a cooking retreat with yoga excursions. While Johnston will start hosting guests as early as May, cooking sessions won't be booked until 2017 when its head chef completes her program at the International Culinary Center. While some Julia Child fans are elated by the news, others aren't so happy, and both sides are taking to social media to voice their opinions.
Whether or not you'll be booking a flight to Provence any time soon, you might want to get a last look at the famous home. After all, the cozy kitchen is still exactly as Julia left it - save for the modernized stove. Talk about a slice of culinary history!

The Truth About Getting Your Home Renovated on Property Brothers
We would be lying if we said that in all the hours of Property Brothers watching we have under our tool belts, we hadn't pretended it was us on screen. It's nearly impossible not to imagine what it would be like to create our dream home with Drew and Jonathan; what outdated house would we have Drew put an offer in on? How many walls would we demand Jonathan knock down to create our open concept living area? What personalized wall art project would the brothers thoughtfully surprise us with? Would we meddle during the renovations? Cry at the reveal? The only way to know is to be on the show, and now we know exactly what producers look for when picking the homeowners. Think you have what it takes to be cast on Property Brothers? Keep reading to find out.
You Must . . .
- Have a Sidekick

Jonathan might be a magician, but he still needs some moolah to work his magic.

You can't have it all. You must pick between these two expensive and time-consuming house hot spots.
- Throw In a 25 Percent Contingency Fee
Things inevitably go wrong (leaky roof, termite infestation, bad electrical wiring) and when they do, the Property Brothers want a homeowner who can survive the unbudgeted overages.
- Tell Them What House You're Already Looking At
The application asks you to give the address of a house you're interested in and even provides a space for you to tell them when you're closing on a house if you've already purchased one.
- Be Free to Film Eight Weekdays
If you want to be on the Property Brothers, you better make time for them - they need you to be available to shoot for eight days total over the course of six to seven weeks.

Dilly-dalliers need not apply; the Property Brothers are busy and they need to keep your reno moving along.
- Have Funding Already Lined Up
No point in casting you if you can't actually purchase a home. They want to know exactly how you're going to finance this major purchase.

These 7 Emerging Trends Represent the Future of Kitchens and Bathrooms
From the futuristic to the beautiful and even to the absurd, the newest and most innovative kitchen and bath products went on display at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Showcase in Las Vegas last month. Stacy DeBroff, brand strategist and CEO of Influence Central, was in attendance, and using her insider knowledge and killer instincts, she's identified the next big trends. The key themes? Personalization and responsiveness - two words oft associated with the increasingly powerful millennial generation of consumers.
Keep your home ahead of the curve by checking out appliances and technologies Stacy predicts will be filling homes in the near future below.
Lighting as a Design Element
Mood lighting will extend well beyond a dimmer in the dining room to become colorful, sparkling, and ubiquitous in the home. Think colored lights that transform the shower into a disco and gas fireplaces glowing in unexpected hues. "This trend - which started with light bulbs that come with an app to change their hue - has exploded across every room of the house, and innovative brands have added lighting where homeowners never dreamed, such as rimming the ceiling molding," says Stacy.
Kitchen Conveniences Throughout the Home
"Kitchen appliance manufacturers have all started showcasing under-the-counter fridges, so cold beverages or snacks await homeowners in the bedroom, TV room, or anywhere else in the house where families sack out and can't be bothered to work their way to the kitchen fridge," explains Stacy. She adds that they seem to be taking a page from luxury hotels in offering ensuite conveniences, such as a a coffee maker in the bedroom or master bath.
Artisan Fireplaces
Bye bye, wood burning fireplace. The next iteration of fireplaces are gas and function as both a heating and design element. Stacy describes what she saw at KBIS as, "warm fire lights dancing across clear glass stones in long and narrow bands that shimmer and take the place of wall art." This might be a longer term shift because, as she adds, "designers will, however, have to provide homeowners with a heads up that gas lines will need to be run in order to fuel them, and installation can be tricky."
Fantasy Kitchen Appliances
"As kitchen brands take innovation to the next level, appliances have become more aspirational - fitting right in with the high-end residences of homeowners' dreams," Stacy says. Viking Range is coming out with a new oven that will allow the home cook to prepare food faster than ever thought possible and GE put a lot of research on cooking temperature and pizza qualities into oven presets. Even standard kitchen equipment is becoming more specialized, with manufacturers creating professional-grade lines made to fit into home settings. "Kitchen manufacturers have replaced traditional [handles] with thick stainless bars on ovens to fridges so they more closely resemble professional kitchens," says Stacy.
Indoor-Outdoor Lifestyle
A slew of new products designed to make the backyard as functional as any other room in the house are on their way to the market. Outdoor kitchens will practically be more sophisticated than their indoor counterparts, explains Stacy: "Built-in units now have options for everything - including grills that turn into smokers, nugget ice makers, butane burners, and beverage refrigerators." Beyond kitchen appliances, outdoor surface areas, are also getting an upgrade with options like never fade wood-like decks.
Hyper Organized Kitchens
The intense focus that was once on closet organization has shifted to the kitchen, where drawers are being outfitted with all types of built-in holders, cutouts, and racks. "Cupboards with the push of a button lower to give easy access to upper shelves - no more reaching, no more kitchen stepladders - and cup holders for coffee simply lower down as needed. Drawers have split levels, so when they open fully, the upper tray can be pushed back to reveal a whole new tray underneath," she explains.
High-End Toilets
"Bathroom suppliers have zeroed in on the family toilet for a stunning array of high-end updates," says Stacy. Amongst the innovations, she describes heated seats, water-saving flushes, illuminated basins, and rinsing apparatus that make bidets look dated. These features, however, come with a big price tag.
Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's Hollywood Home Is Ridiculously Sexy
It turns out John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are seriously talented when it comes to remodeling homes. Case in point: the stunning reno they did on this Hollywood Hills estate. John Krasinski purchased the home for about $1.9 million in 2009, shortly before marrying Emily. After extensive remodeling, the duo transformed the 1958 contemporary home from dated to drop-dead gorgeous, nearly doubling the square footage along the way to 4,724 square feet. Now they're poised to make a huge profit, having just listed the 6-bed, 5-bath home at a whopping $8 million.Justifying the hefty price tag are the home's breathtaking views, impeccable craftsmanship, and sexy design. The third floor contains thoughtful design details, such the layout in actor-director John's office which is specifically designed to foster creativity. Off the office is a breathtaking balcony on which he can unwind. Emily has an in-home pilates studio and there's even a New York City-style rooftop garden. While the home boasts a clean, modern aesthetic, it's still uncommonly warm and welcoming. This is the second West Coast home the couple has put on the chopping block in preparation for their move to the East Coast. They listed their charming Colonial Ojai country home in November. Check out the entire breathtaking home in the video here and scroll through for details of every room.

#CATmageddon Is a Real Thing We Can Avoid by Quitting Smoking
Though the above video can be seen as humorous (who doesn't love shark cat?), the message behind it is not. We all know about the effects that smoking can have on humans, but what about our pets? According to The Truth, when you smoke, your cat is twice as likely to end up with cancer. These are just a few ways that smoking can affect your pets.
- Your pets breathe in the toxic smoke that's in the air.
- When your pets sit on your lap, the toxins from the smoke that are inevitably on your clothes transfer to their fur.
- The smoke that gets on cats' fur ends up in their digestive system when they groom themselves.
- Your pets can accidentally swallow cigarette butts that aren't disposed of properly.
- You can transfer the toxins from your hand to your pets' fur when you pet them.
Smoking can put your cats and dogs (and even birds and other small pets) at higher risk for lung, nasal, and oral cancer, just from these few things that smokers do without thinking. As The Truth puts it, smoking = no cats = no cat videos, and no one wants to live in a world without cats.
Your Boss ALWAYS Notices These Things About You
No matter what field you're in - health, engineering, media, education, design, etc. - you (most likely) answer to a higher-up, and FYI, said higher-up is evaluating you daily. And not just your work.
Your boss notices a range of things about you, because her job is, well, to keep an eye on you. Whether you like it or not, here are the things she's observing regularly. Pro tip: Work hard five days a week!
1. How early you arrive.
Are you getting to work at 8 a.m., 9 a.m., or 10? Different work cultures require different hours (some offices don't even have a set arrival time), but if you're strolling in at 11:30 every morning, there's probably an issue. Take a cue from your co-workers and get to work around the same time they do.
2. . . . And how late you leave.
Again, you may not have a specified 9-to-5 shift, but reflect on the time you're leaving work every day. Before your co-workers? After? Does it vary? Just make sure you're not ducking out early Monday through Friday.
3. The way you dress.
How you present yourself is, and always will be, important at work. Note that the field you're in (or where you live) dictates your dress code. Some offices are totally lax while others are strictly black slacks and blazers. This is another one where you should be taking cues from your colleagues and dressing (relatively) similarly.
4. How you're using technology.
Are you actually making work calls on your iPhone, or are you chatting with your roommate about who's making dinner tonight? It's common sense, but you should be focusing your use of technology on work. Limit the Facebook check-ins!
5. The words you use.
This is fairly basic, but you really shouldn't be cussing up a storm around your co-workers, in or out of the office. The stench of your potty mouth could reach the nose of your boss, and she might not like it.
6. If you're fitting in.
How do you get along with your colleagues? Are you fitting in, or are you the odd one out? If you're new, chances are that your edges haven't quite squeezed into the intricate, 500-piece puzzle of your office. Attend work events. Round up your co-workers for happy hour. Your boss wants to see that you're a good suit for the team.
7. How you manage your time.
Last but not least, are you managing your time well? Do you get things done efficiently and at the proper pace? Or do you linger on stuff that you shouldn't? It's important to prioritize and meet deadlines, always. After all, you're there to work.

Lance Bass and Michael Turchin put the finishing touches on their welcoming LA house just in time to celebrate their one-year anniversary - well, almost. Parents Get Seriously Surprised When Their Kids Reveal Their Ultimate Dinner Guest
MasterfoodsBeautiful video - a complete surprise... love family!A very special thanks to Masterfoods for this video.

"If you could have dinner with anyone in the world - living or dead - who would it be?" It's a question we've all likely answered at some point in our lives, and like the parents in this video, we probably answered with a famous person's name (it's only natural!). After the groups of parents gave their answers - Kylie Minogue, Jimi Hendrix, Nelson Mandela - they were brought into a room to watch their kids answering the very same question on camera, and their responses shocked every single set of parents.
Probably our whole family - like our whole extended family.
Does it have to be a celebrity? Could it be family?
We're sure you have an idea of where this is all going. . . . Watch the video to see the rest of the heartwarming responses that brought these parents - and us - to tears.
Kim Kardashian Shows Off Her Baby Boy Saint West For the First Time With the Sweetest Photo
It's been almost three months since Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West announced the arrival of their son, Saint West but the proud parents finally just shared a snapshot of their sweet boy. In the adorable photo, the smallest member of the West family is resting in a white onesie with his arms stretched above his head. Kim decided to reveal the first look at Saint West on her app in honor of her father, the late Robert Kardashian. "Today is my dad's birthday. I know there's nothing more in the world he would have wanted than to meet his grandchildren. So I wanted to share this pic of Saint with you all."
While Saint's long-awaited debut was a low-key one, for a long time running, it seemed People had a monopoly on introductory celebrity baby photos. Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, and the Jolie-Pitts all turned to the well-established magazine to show off their newest family members. However, today, many celebs are turning to competitors who are doling out generous offerings to new parents. Others are releasing their own photos - either on their own or through photo agencies - to bypass the whole magazine scenario. See how your favorite celebrity parents debuted their little ones, and tell us how you think the newest babies will be introduced to us!

Demi Lovato Calls Out Taylor Swift For Not Supporting Kesha
It seems like Taylor Swift has found herself in the middle of yet another feud this week. After numerous celebrities rallied behind Kesha after a judge ruled against her in her heartbreaking lawsuit against Dr. Luke, fans were quick to notice that the Grammy-winning singer was staying pretty mum on the issue. Since she is usually pretty outspoken about feminism, Demi Lovato didn't take too kindly to the fact that Taylor had yet to offer her support. "I'm also ready for self-proclaimed feminists to start speaking out or taking action for women's rights," Demi wrote on Twitter.

But things didn't end there. Taylor then donated $250,000 to help Kesha's case, but Demi took to Twitter once again to show that she was not impressed. "Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I'll be impressed," she wrote. Of course, "Swifties" were quick to retaliate, with one user suggesting that Demi was taking focus away from the main issue and making it about herself.

In Instagram comments that have since been made private, the singer posted on a Taylor Swift fan page, writing, "How the f--k am I making this about myself? At least I'm talking about it. Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn't grow up with money and def haven't made as much as her. At least I speak up about s--t that's uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7. There's no 'rivalry' I just give more f--ks than other people and would rather start a dialogue ABOUT WOMEN COMING FORWARD ABOUT BEING RAPED than throw money at one person. Didn't shade Taylor. If you take it that way than fine. I'm just tired of seeing women use 'women empowerment' and 'feminism' to further brands without actually being the ones that have the uncomfortable conversations. I get shade and I don't give a f--k because someone has to be the one to take it. At least I'm getting my hands dirty." Wow!

This Outdoor Baby Shower Is as Close to Real-Life Camp as You Can Get
For a truly spectacular baby celebration, this mom-to-be drew from her experience as a wedding photographer to plan a perfectly coordinated soiree. How You Can Use School Supplies to Create a Supercool Nail Design
As much as we all love ogling nail art on YouTube and Instagram, it can often seem daunting to re-create the looks yourself. Without having the proper tools and technique, it usually seems easier to leave nail art to the pros and stick to more basic DIY manicures.
Thankfully, the newest nail trend is one we can all do ourselves at home. In fact, there's a good chance you already have the key tool - the humble Sharpie - sitting on your desk. It's ideal for a first foray into nail art or, for those with experience, a starting point for more intricate claw creations.
For these watercolor-esque nails, all you need is a couple of permanent marker pens and some rubbing alcohol. After applying a standard manicure in the shade of your choice, combine colorful Sharpie ink and your rubbing alcohol in a separate dish. Once you paint it onto the nail, you'll see a bright and fun marbled design. Customize the look by choosing your own palette of hues, or even layer additional elements like glitter or rhinestones on top of your masterpiece.
