Jennifer Aniston's Workout Motivation Is Extremely Relatable

All good things get better with time, and Jennifer Aniston is proof. The 47-year-old actress, producer, and savvy businesswoman can now add to her list of credentials most beautiful woman in the world, which she earned in People's 2016 issue.

In the cover story, Jennifer reveals her secrets for staying motivated and in shape amidst her A-list lifestyle. She shared a snapshot of her regular fitness routine, which includes working out for an hour a day and snagging Sundays to rest up. Typically, Jennifer attends spin-yoga classes three days a week and spends the rest of her time doing a variety of weight training exercises at home. "I usually do a trifecta. Fifteen minutes on the bike, 15 on the treadmill running, and then 15 on the elliptical. You have to shake it up, you know, muscle confusion," she told People.

Like all of us, there are days when Jennifer would rather relax than get up and hit the gym, but her motivation to stay active is hilariously relatable: "Think of a wonderful pasta or Mexican meal that you want to have on the weekend and dangle that in front of you like a little carrot."

We'd be lying if we said we've never used a satisfying cheat meal or dessert as a reward for a workout. But her ultimate advice for staying in shape - "bite the bullet and just do it" - is a mantra we can all get behind.

This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Grilled Cheese

Grilled cheese is one of those recipes everyone should learn how to make, but it's so much more than white bread and American cheese. Need a little inspiration? Here's how some of our favorite celebrity cooks make theirs (I personally want to try Chrissy Teigen's ASAP).

Alton Brown: Literally Grilled

Alton Brown has very strong feelings about calling it "grilled" cheese when it actually isn't. In Alton's grilled cheese video, he says, "These words repesent disappintment, dishonesty, and disillusionment, because whenever people say they're gonna make you a grilled cheese sandwich, what they really mean is they're gonna make you a griddled sandwich containing some melted cheese. Well, not me." And he's not exaggerrating - Alton's grilled cheese recipe calls for putting the cheese and the bread on the grill.

Giada De Laurentiis: With Italian Flair

Would you expect anything else from a Giada recipe than an Italian flair? Her grilled cheese with spinach and pancetta is proof that prosciutto or pancetta makes anything better.

Mario Batali: French Toast-Like

Mario Batali's grilled cheese technique is certainly one I'd never heard before. He whisks eggs, whole milk, thyme, pecorino cheese, and salt in a bowl and dips each sandwich in the mixture before adding to the pan. "We're almost making it like a french toast; in Italian, this would be called mozzarella en carozza, which is 'in the carriage.'" This eggy coating creates a thicker, crunchy, golden-brown crust.

Chrissy Teigen: Sweet and Spicy

"My love of oozing cheese knows no bounds, and as I'm sure you've noticed, I'm constantly trying to find a way to squish delicious things between buttery pieces of bread." Same, girl. That's how Chrissy Teigen introduces her grilled cheese recipe, and the oozing cheese is just the beginning of the excitement. Chrissy adds sweet Thai chili sauce, red onions, and fresh peaches for an unexpected sweet and spicy flavor combination.

Ina Garten: Mayo Slathered

Ina Garten is one of those cooks who follows recipes to a T, so you know her decision to include this secret ingredient was well-thought-out, and it's . . . mayonnaise. Actually, mayo and dijon mustard. Ina's grilled cheese recipe calls for generously spreading the bread with the condiment mixture on one side, and butter on the other - "Don't neglect the corners!" she advises.

The Pioneer Woman: Starts With a Cast-Iron Skillet

The Pioneer Woman's grilled cheese recipe proves that sometimes you don't need to mess with a classic. If you've got a cast-iron skillet, all you need is three ingredients - bread, cheese, and butter - to be on your way to an extracrispy exterior and melty center.

Bobby Flay: Nontraditional Cheeses

You won't find cheddar or mozzarella in Bobby Flay's grilled cheese. You'll find a combination of melty brie and tangy goat cheese, plus bacon and green tomatoes to keep things interesting.

Baskin-Robbins Just Created the World's Greatest Ice Cream Sandwich

Brace yourselves, Baskin-Robbins fans, the ice cream brand has some new additions coming this year that we're super stoked about - including a doughnut ice cream sandwich and some new flavors of the month.

What you can expect to see from Baskin-Robbins soon includes:

  • Doughnut ice cream sandwiches: OK, full disclosure: I ate a lot of ice cream when I visited Baskin-Robbins headquarters this month, and truthfully everything was great. (It's ice cream, I literally don't know how you can go wrong.) My favorite thing I tried, however, was the doughnut ice cream sandwich. The new product, which the brand hopes to roll out this Fall, is a yeast doughnut coated in powdered sugar, sliced in half and served with a scoop of the ice cream of your choice and a layer of hot fudge. The one I tried had a scoop of the Made with MILKY WAY® Bars flavor, and I wanted to cry because it was so amazing. I take sweet treats very seriously, and this doughnut ice cream sandwich is beyond delicious. I can't wait until I can go to a Baskin-Robbins shop on the regular and buy it.
  • Warm cookie sandwiches: The brand just rolled out a warm cookie ice cream sandwich that will only be around for a limited time. The cookie options are dark chocolate chunk, double fudge, peanut butter chocolate, white chunk macadamia, and, the newest addition, candy. Obviously the cookies are warm and soft and served with a scoop of the ice cream of your choice and can be topped with sprinkles or nuts. I tried one of these too, and it was nearly as good as the doughnut sandwich, but just not quite.
  • Polar Pizza: You may remember Polar Pizzas from many, many years ago and wonder where they went. The good news is, they're coming back. The brand plans to relaunch the products later this year, and varieties will include Oreo cookies 'n cream, chocolate chip cookie dough, Jamoca almond fudge and Heath, peanut butter 'n chocolate and Reese's peanut butter cup, and custom combinations of your choice. We tried the cookie dough and the Oreo ones, and they were so fun. They're a cookie or brownie base with a layer of ice cream and then a layer of toppings. Baskin-Robbins's vice president of marketing, Carol Austin, told us, "It's casual, it's fun, and like everything else, you'll really enjoy it." And let me just say, she's completely spot on.
  • New flavors of the month: We already knew about April's flavor of the month, Redberry Blast, which I tried and sincerely loved. The ice cream is very marshmallowy and the Sour Patch ribbon was so cool. It had a sugary texture, so it tasted like a gooey Sour Patch kid. And the sour with the ice cream worked better than I expected. I also got to also try June and July's flavors of the month. For June, expect to see Made with MILKY WAY® Bars and for July, expect Oreo Birthday Cake. The Milky Way flavor for June tastes exactly like a Milky Way candy bar, which is obviously what the geniuses in the test kitchen were going for. The Oreo flavor has birthday cake pieces and Oreo pieces in it, and actually tastes like someone made a birthday cake out of Oreos. So, ya know, good job to the chefs at Baskin-Robbins.
  • Home delivery: You guys, we might be able to get our ice cream and treats delivered right to our doors at some point. The brand plans to test third-party delivery later this year so that people can order ice cream, milkshakes, cakes, and whatever else from their local Baskin-Robbins and have it show up intact on their doorstep, just like ordering from any other restaurant. Fingers crossed the testing goes well.
  • Mobile app: The brand is testing a mobile app in three markets - Southern California, Atlanta, and Wellesley, MA - at 12 stores. The app ideally will include a store locator, menu, about the brand, nutrition information, allergy information, coupons, the ability to send e-gift cards, and even the ability to pay for your treats. If all goes well in the test markets, look for the app to make its way to everyone eventually.

Prince William Responds to Criticism Over His Lack of Royal Duties: "I'm Concentrated on My Role as a Father"

Prince William is the proud dad of Princess Charlotte and Prince George, and he's making sure they are at the top of his priority list. The handsome royal recently spoke with BBC and opened up about the recent criticism he faced over his lack of royal duties. William, who came under fire in February for making significantly less appearances than his grandfather, Prince Philip, last year, said that while he's eager to take on more responsibilities, he's also a family man. "I'm concentrating very much on my role as a father," he told interviewer Nicholas Witchell. "I'm a new father and I take my duties and my responsibilities to my family very seriously. I want to bring my children up as good people with the idea of service and duty to others as very important. But if I can't give my time to my children as well, I worry about their future."

William went on to say that no matter what anyone in the media says about the royal family, he can always count on those closest to him for support. "My grandmother and my father are 150 percent supportive behind everything that I'm doing - and Harry and Catherine," he said. "They very much understand whilst my grandmother is still extremely active at the helm of the royal family, as the monarch [and] my father is incredibly busy with his charitable activities and other responsibilities, there's the time now and the space to explore other means of doing a worthwhile job." He also revealed that when it comes to his home life with Kate and the little ones, they are as normal as they possibly can be, saying, "As far as we're concerned, within our family unit we are a normal family. I love my children the same way any father does and I hope George loves me the same way any son does to his father, so we are very normal in that sense. There'll be a time and a place to bring George up and understand how he fits in the world. But right now, it's just a case of keeping a secure, stable environment around him and showing him as much love as I can as a father." Nicki Minaj Spits Wisdom as Flawlessly as She Does Rhymes

She speaks her mind, even when it leads to a feud with Miley Cyrus or a tiff with Taylor Swift. She oozes empowerment, too; remember when she gave us chills by reciting Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise"? And now, in her new interview with Time, she's shedding even more light on her brilliance. Keep reading for some serious nuggets of wisdom from the piece.

  1. Figure out what you want, and don't settle for less. "I think before I could remember wanting to do anything else, I knew that I wanted to be in charge. As a child, my mother didn't have a job where she was the boss, and I always looked at that and wished that she was the boss, and that she did make her own rules. So, from very early on, I felt like, you know what, whatever I do one day, I want to be more in charge of my business."
  2. Decide what kind of mark you want to make. "Two of the things that I wanted to leave behind [were] that I write my own raps - a man doesnt have to write down your thoughts, you're intelliegent enough to write down your own thoughts - and number two, I would become a mogul. I exceeded every expectation I think people had for a 'rapper.'"
  3. Know what you're getting into. "I think black women are held to higher standards. A lot of pop culture takes from black culture and oftentimes doesn't really say they got it from black culture. You know, magazines are acting like [it's] just being done for the first time because it's on a white woman's head, or it's on a white woman's body. You have to get used to living in a world that doesn't even acknowledge that you did certain things."
  4. Never settle. "One thing I learned along the way in business is the necessity for you to be unapologetic about asking for how much money you deserve. At a very early stage in my rap career, I was making six figures for shows. If I heard there was another rapper making that, I thought, you know what? I get out there and command a crowd, I get out there and make my fans happy. I want that too."
  5. Don't be shy about the fact that you own it. "I think women have the tendency to feel that they shouldn't ask to be compensated as much as a man doing the same exact thing. If you know you're great at what you do, don't ever be ashamed to ask for the top dollar in your field."
  6. Find meaning in your work. "I actually remixed '***Flawless' with Beyoncé. Whenever I do something with her, I can feel the impact. It just feels like young women are being empowered and inspired."
  7. Self-confidence empowers and inspires. "I think it says a lot when you see two young women at the top of their field - whether they are black or white - it just means a lot when you see them owning who they are, and owning the business, and owning the industry, and not taking no for an answer, and not being apologetic for who they are. I think that it inspires women, young, old, black, white, whatever."

7 Important Things to Know About the Drama Between Kelly Ripa Michael Strahan and ABC

This week, news broke that Michael Strahan would be leaving Live With Kelly and Michael and starting a full-time position at Good Morning America. What should have been pretty run-of-the-mill news quickly turned into a wildfire, though, when cohost Kelly Ripa was mysteriously absent from Live's Wednesday and Thursday shows. Saturday Night Live alum and comedy actress Ana Gasteyer took her place and sat idly by as Michael announced his big news. Reports of behind-the-scenes drama quickly began surfacing, and if you're like us, you're probably eager to find out exactly what went down. Keep reading for the most important facts about the situation.

  1. It's unclear whether or not Kelly and Michael actually like each other. In January 2015, Michael appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers and had nothing but wonderful things to say about Kelly. The clip may be unavailable, but the title that remains says it all. And yet, according to Entertainment Tonight, not everything is as fine on set as it seems. A source claims, "Michael and Kelly have not been getting along recently . . . they got along great in the beginning, but not so much lately."
  2. This didn't exactly come out of nowhere. In case you're not aware, Michael has been a contributing correspondent on Good Morning America for roughly two years now.
  3. Even so, Kelly felt blindsided by the news. The New York Times spoke with a source close to Kelly, who says she "was told of the move just minutes before the announcement, and felt blindsided."
  4. It all went down in one very dramatic meeting. The same New York Times source claims that, after Tuesday's show, Kelly "was called to a meeting along with the show's longtime producer, Michael Gelman, and the WABC general manager, Dave Davis . . . She did not know the purpose of the meeting."
  5. Despite her shock, a part of Kelly saw it coming. In this meeting, Kelly reportedly said, "Didn't I tell you this was going to happen? . . . I told you two years ago this was going to happen." It seems Kelly expressed concern even when Michael was just starting his position on Good Morning America.
  6. Kelly's absences this week seem partially planned and partially not. ABC (and Kelly's publicist, for that matter) both insisted that her Wednesday-through-Monday absence ties into a preplanned vacation - Kelly is allegedly celebrating her 20th anniversary with husband Mark Consuelos. And yet, no previous mention of the absence was made, not even during the Tuesday show. In all fairness, though, the couple's anniversary is coming up; it's on May 1.
  7. Kelly dropped a subtle message after the news broke. On Thursday, Kelly stepped out with her husband, presumably on their way to that preplanned vacation. In her arms, though, she was carrying a copy of a Malcolm Gladwell book called David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants. Coincidence? It's hard to say for sure, but we really have a feeling it's not.

Fix a Post-Run Stomachache Quickly With These Trainer Tips

There are definitely ways to prevent a run-induced stomachache, but if it's too late and you're past the point of no return, then listen up: we continued our talk with DIAKADI running and training coaches Elijah Markstrom and Angela Tieri to get the skinny on treating an upset tummy after a hard run.

First Things First

If you got to this page because you currently have a stomachache, the first note that Elijah made was to consider what you ate, and when. "When and what did I eat prior to the run, what did I consume during the run, and when and what will I consume after the run?" Elijah said that some stomach issues are the result of chronic issues, while others are more acute and circumstantial.

"When performing high-intensity exercise, blood is shunted from digestion to the periphery, in order to accommodate the oxygen demand to the working muscles," said Elijah. In other words, your stomach is freaking out because it can't digest properly when you're running - meaning much of these stomach issues come from food and digestion.

Another factor to consider: are you on your period? Angela told us that women who run during their cycle are subject to extra stomach distress and sensitivity, and suggests you "run a route with public restrooms," if that's the case for you. Don't say we didn't warn ya.

In summary, you're feeling crappy for one of these reasons:

  • You ate the wrong foods
  • You ate too much
  • You're dehydrated
  • You're on your period
  • You have chronic stomach issues (in which case, see a doctor)

Now let's get into how we prevent and treat these issues.

Next Steps

  • Wait 30–60 minutes to eat. Your body has just been through the ringer, and your digestion has essentially been shut down during your exercise. "It takes a while to reverse," said Elijah. "Wait until you are fully cooled down to eat." Speaking of which . . .
  • Cool down. A proper cooldown aids in stomach healing and settling, and skipping one can worsen stomach issues. Before you jump in the shower, wind down: a simple 10–15 minute cooldown will "clear metabolic waste and start to ease off that ceased digestion," said Elijah.
  • Foam roll. "Foam rolling can help to activate the parasympathetic nervous system," said Elijah. "Don't go from 60–0; ease off of the workout." He suggests laying flat on the roller, under the length of the spine and take some deep breaths. Learn more about the benefits of foam rolling for runners here.
  • Drink lots of water. Angela mentioned that stomach issues can often come from dehydration, and mentioned that she has dealt with post-run nausea after a particularly hot run with little water. "I focus on liquid calories or refreshing, water-based foods like watermelon, making sure to add a pinch salt to my water."
  • Try vinegar. Elijah mentioned its basic pH can help lower stomach acid. One of these apple cider vinegar drinks might do the trick for you.

While these tips are remedial on a case by case basis, if your issues are chronic and seem to be coming up each time you run, then it's time to consult your doctor.

What to Do When Your Daughter Worries About Weight

Society's influence on body image is something that we as women face from a very young age. Our friends at YourTango share a heartbreaking story about a 9-year-old already showing concern about her size.

How do you help your daughter love her body when you don't even love your own?

My daughter is a collection of lines and points. Her bones are growing so fast that her flesh can barely keep up. Her calves and thighs are smaller than her band-aid-covered knees. Like a puppy, she often becomes tangled in her own feet. I have watched her trip and fall while standing still. She is almost nine.

My daughter is all energy and confidence. She is one big "yes" that refuses to hear "no." She struts into a room and assumes her body has a right to be there. She takes up much more space than her small frame requires. She demands praise and then soaks it up like a greedy sponge and then asks for more. She is voraciously in love with life.

In the mornings before school, my daughter often gets so lost in her own reflection that she forgets to run a brush through her knotty hair.

"What happened up there?" I'll ask after she returns downstairs, her hair no neater than before. She'll just shrug and head off to school, hair unbrushed, perhaps a smudge of toothpaste still in the corner of her mouth. She doesn't care.

Sometimes I close my eyes and I try to imagine myself at that age. Did I, too, love myself so wholly and deeply? And if so, when did I stop? When did I start to pick apart my reflection, quadrant by quadrant, until there was nothing left to please?

Last night, as she was undressing for the bath, my daughter approached me, tentatively.

"Mommy? If I ask you something, will you answer me honestly?" Then she lowered her eyes, frowning at her tummy, and asked nervously, "Do you think I look fat?"

It troubles her - this small, convex curve on her otherwise bony frame. I wonder if she will spend her life patting that tummy, willing it to flatten and become concave, even though the women in my family have a long history of blossoming into a stout pear-shape by middle age.

I wonder if, like me, she will never be happy with her appearance, if she will slouch and hunch and turn away from cameras when her friends want to take photos. I wonder if she has watched me pat my own tummy, frowning.

After I gave birth to my son, I was conscious of the way I poked at my postpartum body, knowing my then three-year-old daughter was eyeing me. I tried not to grimace when she grabbed the folds of fat that sagged around my emptied womb and announced, gleefully, that mommy was "fat."

Her little eyes were mischievous, waiting to see how I reacted to her watching, to her laser focus on my midsection and her use of the "F word." I wanted to scream, "Don't touch it, don't make it exist!" But her little eyes were always watching so I forced out a smile.

"Mommy had a baby," I would tell her, "This is what mommies look like after they have babies." That sounds positive, I think to myself. But at the same time, I resolve to add an extra workout to my week.

What do you say when your nine-year-old daughter asks if she looks fat? A simple "no" won't work because to answer that way would imply that the question itself is a valid one. Because my daughter knows she isn't "fat."

What my daughter is asking from me, I think, is for a validation of her skinniness. She wants me to tell her that her body fits into the narrow expectations that society has erected for women's bodies. She wants me to tell her that she's good enough, that she passes the test. She wants me to tell her that she deserves love even though her tummy is, as she sadly told me last night, "too big" for her body.

I want to tell her that her lovability isn't connected to her size and shape but that the world will, for the rest of her life, tell her the opposite. Every single image she sees of women - on TV and in the movies, on magazine covers and her toy shelf, in the Fairy Tale High books she reads and in the whispers of the little girls on the playground - chant the same refrain: be thin, be thin, be thin.

I want to tell her that her battle has just started, that it will come at her from all ends, and that there is no end in sight. But I can't form those words. I'm not sure she's ready for them yet.

Instead, I look at her looking at her tummy and use the only words I know, the ones that do exist, and which she understands. It's Sunday night, I still have a lot of laundry to fold, and I'm tired. So I tell her, with a sigh, "No, you don't look fat." Then she smiles, and gets in the bath.

This New Health Food Trend Is a Weight-Loss Dream: Here's What You Need to Know

Have you heard about souping yet? The health world seems to be buzzing about the latest trend that's dethroning juice cleanses, with good reason. Let's break it down.

What Is Souping?

Put simply, "souping" is a liquid diet, but it's not as scary as you think. You replace your typical meals with soups - meaning you're still getting food (bye, juice!), but it's not solid.

If you're ordering your soups from a company, there are so many unique options. There are hot soups and cold soups, some veggie-based (anything from a classic tomato basil to Japanese sweet potato), and some fruit (like pineapple papaya fennel . . . yum!); and most of them are plant-based, but some brands offer broth-based infusions like "organic grass-fed antibiotic-free beef bone broth" from Soupure.

Why Is It Good For You?

The benefits of souping and soup cleanses extend far beyond weight loss, but it's important to note: it's a great weight-loss kickstarter. The idea here is to decrease calories while maintaining (if not increasing) satiety (full feeling). These soups are super nutrient-dense, just like a smoothie, but typically savory, so they're low in sugar and won't leave you feeling hungry thanks to the fiber content.

Souping is an excellent way to hit the reset button on your body, especially after a period of overeating or imbibing. You can recalibrate your digestion and get back on track, without sacrificing food. Many of the ingredients in these cleanses are carefully curated for their detoxifying properties, and can reset your pH levels, and you're gaining tons of nutrition from whole ingredients.

What Makes It Better Than Juicing?

Souping keeps the vegetable pulp and fiber, which is a huge factor in satiety, digestion, and weight loss. Nutritionists and wellness coaches who have knocked juice cleanses are recommending souping as a safer, healthier alternative.

"I'm definitely on board with this trend, because my biggest issue with juicing is the fiber," said wellness coach Carrie McMahon. "You don't get any of the fiber or fullness, so you end up drinking a ton of calories."

The fiber is a weight-loss dream. Not only does it help with gut health and digestion (hello, debloating!), but you'll be far more satisfied on a soup cleanse than you would on a juice cleanse. Fiber can also help with overall gut health, which promotes a healthy immune system.

Lastly, warm soup is comforting and mentally soothing - we learned that hot temperatures can have calming effects on anxiety.

What Is It Like to Be on a Soup Cleanse?

Each of your meals will be replaced by a soup. Depending on your plan, you might have the addition of infused waters. There's lots of variety. Our senior editor Michele loved her cleanse from Splendid Spoon, which she did for one day. She mentioned that she never felt hungry, and this is after trying juice cleanses multiple times - and failing each time.

Keep in mind that a soup cleanse, although filling and nutrient-dense, is a low-calorie day. Many one-day cleanses weigh in at about 1,200 calories, so this is ideal for a rest day, and not something you'd want to try on a day you have Tabata scheduled. "I didn't work out, and it's not because it felt low-energy," said Michele. "I just wanted to be careful with my caloric intake."

How Do You Get Started?

It's simpler than you think.

  • Order a cleanse. Several companies are popping up and offering soup cleanses, delivered to your door. Splendid Spoon and Soupure are two great options, or you can check out our list of liquid cleanses for even more ideas.
  • DIY. Make soup at home yourself, using ingredients you'd get at the grocery store. You can do a full-on cleanse, or swap one to two of your meals each day with a nutrient-rich, fiber-filled soup. When you make your own soups, try to follow the formula of the delivery cleanses: low in sugar and salt with an emphasis on vegan ingredients.

How to Respond When Your Kids Start Masturbating

Many parents find it superawkward when their kids start masturbating, but it's not only normal, it's healthy. Readers often ask each other how they should respond, especially when kids masturbate in public. There's one fairly common denominator among the responses: teach your child appropriate boundaries without making them feel ashamed. The question is . . . how?

What's Normal?

According to the University of Michigan's Development and Behavior Resources program, the vast majority of kids discover their genitals and the pleasure they can bring by age 6. While discussions seem to revolve mostly around boys and girls who are in the 10 to 13 range, whatever age your child is at when she or he makes this discovery is the time to start discussing when and where this behavior is appropriate.

Carrie A.'s two kids (ages 10 and 13) have been taught that masturbation is fine in the privacy of their bedroom or bathroom, and not in other places. She has promised them she won't come in without knocking, and she always waits for them to say, "Come in." This seems like a respectful approach, and one that will likely build trust in her family.

Door-locking is not allowed in Tisha P.'s home, but her kids, too, know that they have privacy behind the closed doors of their bedrooms. For safety reasons, she has asked her kids to never use objects (only hands), and to wash their hands when they're finished. Beyond that, they are allowed to explore their bodies freely in private.

Should You Respond Differently to Girls vs. Boys?

There does, perhaps not surprisingly, seem to be a discrepancy between parental perceptions of boys versus girls when it comes to masturbation. Many moms see it as normal for boys, but somewhat disturbing when girls do it. This is likely the result of deep cultural biases that many of us hold unconsciously.

Lesley comments that "we seem to find boys exploring their bodies a much more acceptable practice." But she has an 11-year-old daughter and adds that she would rather know that her child is exploring her own body rather than "letting someone else do the 'exploring'" as her daughter enters her teen years.

Eva W. suggests to moms who have discomfort around this to "do some soul searching" to try to understand why you have such difficulty accepting what doctors and psychologists say is perfectly normal behavior. In other words, trying to untangle your own hang-ups can go a long way toward helping your child grow up without shame regarding her body. Eva is walking the talk: she has begun talking about puberty and basic reproduction to her 10-year-old twins, as she believes these are related topics that parents should proactively pursue.

The common-sense takeaway here is that kids age 10-13 clearly understand that certain things are to be done at certain places and times. For example, we eat dinner in the early evening, at the table in the kitchen. We take a bath in the bathroom before we go to bed. It's not a great leap for them to understand that masturbation, like going to the toilet, is private.

How did you handle your child's discovery of masturbation?

7 Reasons Your Belly Fat Won't Disappear

You work hard to lose weight, but the pooch won't budge. Our friends at Shape share some reasons as to why this is happening.

You can work out like a champ, eat virtuously, and get sound sleep but still stay thick around the middle. Blame some newly discovered triggers that undermine your slim-down efforts by making you pack on the belly flab. Take note, and trim down.

Living on a Busy Street

Regular exposure to traffic noise makes you 29 percent more likely to have a bigger waistline, according to findings in Occupational & Environmental Medicine. (That risk escalates further if you're constantly hearing planes, trains, and automobiles.) (Read more: Living Near Traffic Noise Linked to Higher BMI.) Other research found that such noise may spike your cortisol, a hormone associated with ab fat. Three suggestions for you: Drown out the noise by playing soothing music (studies revealed that such tunes lower cortisol levels), muffle the clamor with a background- noise machine, or pop in noise-canceling earbuds when you need to focus.

Your Diet Soda Habit

Ironically, people who sip the no-cal stuff in an effort to cut calories are actually more likely to gain belly fat. Diet soda drinkers who averaged about a can and a half a day packed 3.2 inches onto their waistlines over the course of nine and a half years, while regular soda drinkers gained less than an inch, a recent study at the University of Texas Health Science Center found. One reason is that artificial sweeteners prevent the brain from registering satiety, thus increasing cravings for sweets, so you end up eating more, says study author Helen Hazuda, Ph.D. If you can't give up the bubbles, switch to naturally flavored calorie-free seltzers, which are made without any sweeteners (snapping open the can and sipping the slightly tangy carbonated drink can mimic the diet soda experience), or for your caffeine fix, go for unsweetened coffee or tea, Hazuda suggests.

Mental Multitasking

Brown University researchers found that people who were able to focus their thoughts on the present carried about a pound less of belly fat, on average, than those who weren't as mindful. The scientists speculate that because mindful people are able to view their feelings more objectively, they have greater power to overcome urges-for example, resisting a second drink at happy hour in favor of pushing it in an a.m. Spinning class. Cultivate your focus by meditating, practicing yoga, or engaging in endurance exercise, such as going for a long run or bike ride, which encourages you to constantly monitor your pace, the way your body is moving, and how you're feeling, says study author Eric Loucks, Ph.D. (Did you know Multitasking with Technology Can Rewire Your Brain?)

Skimping on Calcium

Fifty-seven percent of women are falling short on the recommended daily allowance of calcium, and it may be showing in their waist measurements. Dairy, which is rich in calcium, can help flatten your belly, a study published in the journal Nutrients found. When subjects ate three daily servings of milk-based products for 12 weeks, they lost about 2.2 pounds more belly fat than those who consumed less of the same stuff. That's because foods loaded with calcium better suppress a type of hormone that promotes fat storage, the researchers speculate. Aim to eat three servings a day of high-calcium foods like milk, yogurt, cheese, broccoli, kale, and tofu.

Your Commute

The longer you travel to your job, the wider your waistline, according to a study of almost 4,300 workers conducted at Washington University. The top reason? A longer trip means less time to work out. You may not be able to change how you get to the office, but you can build activity into your commute by parking a mile or two from your workplace or train stop and walking, biking, or running the rest of the way. Or join a gym that's on your route and keep clothes and sneakers in the car so you can pop in on your way home, suggests sport psychologist Amanda Visek, Ph.D. (One woman shares: "How (and Why) I Run Commute to Work.")

Tossing and Turning

Tons of studies have shown that sleep deprivation can increase cortisol levels. But a new German study found that the quality of your sleep matters too and that people who don't sleep soundly have more fat. "Waking up in the middle of the night as a result of things like snoring, nightmares, restlessness, or a baby crying happens commonly; actually, we're wired to naturally wake up a few times," says José Colón, M.D., the author of The Sleep Diet. "But if you wake up and immediately start panicking about falling back asleep, that can raise cortisol levels." Dr. Colón suggests turning your alarm clock over so you don't fixate on the time. Sometimes circumstances prevent you from getting seven to eight consecutive hours of sleep. Sleeping in blocks of three or four hours, however, is still restorative.

OK, so it's no surprise that young women who watch more than three hours of TV a day have significantly more belly fat than those who watch an hour or less a day-lying on the couch with your hand in a bag of pretzels isn't exactly a recipe for weight loss. Researchers found that tuning in to cooking programs also boosts your risk of gaining weight. People who watch food TV and cook the featured dishes weigh 10 pounds more than people who find recipes elsewhere. (Yep, Food Network Is Making You Fat.)

"Cooking shows often portray unhealthy recipes and make viewers think it's the norm to eat this way," says the study's lead researcher, Lizzy Pope, Ph.D., R.D.N., the director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics at the University of Vermont. Pope recommends culling recipes from cookbooks, magazines (try the healthy eats in this one), and family and friends, since these sources were not associated with weight gain.

There's Now a Pregnancy Test You Can Take With Your iPhone

Three minutes doesn't seem like very much time at all . . . unless those precious 180 seconds are spent waiting to find out if you're pregnant or not. In that case, three minutes is an eternity.

That's precisely what inspired the creation of a just-released pregnancy test from First Response, which uses Bluetooth wireless technology to securely sync results to a specific app on a smartphone. Here's how it works:

Mere seconds after a woman uses the physical Pregnancy Pro stick, her phone's corresponding app provides step-by-step reassurance throughout the testing process (for example, it'll alert you when the sample is detected, it'll display a three-minute countdown, and it'll let you know when results are ready). Not only that, while the user is anxiously awaiting an answer, the app offers purposefully distracting "Entertain Me" options, from calming sounds and images to videos of cute puppies.

This all might seem a little unnecessary, especially considering the premium cost (the retail price is between $15 and $22, while a standard pregnancy test costs as little as $9) and the ability for any nervous woman to just YouTube a silly animal clip while she waits. But as more women use pregnancy-tracking apps to monitor menstruation and ovulation cycles, First Response is banking on women using their app for far longer than those precious three minutes. The free app also helps to determine a woman's most fertile days before she ever takes a test and aids her in crucial planning well after she gets her results.

In fact, on the same screen as "Congratulations! Pregnant" is a button to calculate the estimated due date and a calendar to schedule a doctor's appointment. It also provides a dropdown menu of suggested next steps and serves as a more traditional pregnancy tracker with major milestones and updates about the baby's growth.

Yes, women don't need an iPhone app to pee on a stick or look for two blue lines a few minutes later, but they also don't need a data-collecting thermostat or WiFi-enabled speakers. Perhaps the First Response Pregnancy Pro - available this Spring - is only just the beginning of a line of apps women never knew they couldn't live without.

These 6 Natural Nightcaps Will Send You Off to the Land of Nod

If you've been having trouble falling or staying asleep, it may be time to consider a nightcap. Skip the alcohol and try an herbal tea, sleep-specific drink, or even chocolate milk (say what?!). And these suggestions are coming from experience - I've had some sleep issues in the past, and I've tried these six drinks before bedtime with much sleepy-time success to report back on.

For example: two nights prior to my first half marathon, I couldn't sleep at ALL. When the eve of the race came, I knew I'd have to step up my game: I grabbed a NeuroSleep and Yogi Bedtime tea. Before I knew it, the stress was melting away, and I was fast asleep, with enough rest for my 4 a.m. wakeup call.

The components in these herbal- or mineral-based drinks all have the same goal in mind: getting you to relax and sleep soundly. Here's are some ingredients to look for (all of which can be found in the following drink roundup!).

  • Valerian root is known to mitigate anxiety and has sedative qualities
  • L-theanine releases dopamine, and has a stress-reducing effect that helps you fall asleep more easily
  • Melatonin is the natural hormone created by your body that helps you fall asleep
  • Magnesium is an antistress, anti-anxiety mineral, and reduces cramping, allowing you to comfortably nod off
  • Vitamin B complex positively affects mood, while relaxing the mind and body
  • Chamomile acts as a mild sedative, calming you for a peaceful slumber

Snapchat devotees no longer have to squeeze a fun caption into a wimpy 31 characters. The app made a sneaky new update and added one more line of space (80 characters) for text on your snaps. As an avid snapper myself, one line doesn't sound like much, but it's a lot better than its previous limit. If you still need to get text in beyond the new two-line allowance, you can turn to this nifty iPhone trick to copy more space into your snap. Check out the new feature update below:

Why Shay Mitchell Used to Hide Her Filipina Heritage

I'd like to believe Shay Mitchell and I would be best friends. Aside from the fact that I'm not a big pizza person (and Shay is obsessed!), we have a lot in common. Our favorite esthetician is Shani Darden. We both create content for YouTube. She's really into skin care and makeup, as am I! And she's a total girls' girl but can get down with the boys, too. (Plus, she's on one of the most scandalous and morbid shows on the tube, Pretty Little Liars, and I love anything creepy or horror-genre related.)

Shay joined us on this week's episode of #PrettyUnfiltered while promoting her new partnership with Bioré, and having interviewed her once before, I knew that she was going to be fun but also genuine - something that's absolutely necessary for our series. After an outfit change on her part, we kicked off our shoes and got to talking.

Shay is half Filipina, and growing up, she felt like she didn't fit in. She explained that she felt insecure in school, which most of us can relate to, but her insecurities were mostly due to the fact that she didn't look like most of her friends. She had darker skin and features; everyone else was white and blond.

I was also totally blown away to hear that Shay used to dye her hair blond and wear contacts in an effort to alter her image. She explains how she came to embrace herself and how she built up her confidence, and she told us an amazing quote her mother shared with her as a kid. Check out the interview with Shay, and then let us know what empowers you by hashtagging #PrettyUnfiltered.

Why You Shouldn't Teach Your Kids to Share

One of the principles of early childhood education is teaching children to play well together, which usually translates into teaching them to share. If you've ever seen three preschoolers playing in the sandbox, you know that even if there are 10 toys in there, they'll all want the same one, and there's usually a meltdown when one child doesn't get it.

But maybe sharing shouldn't be the goal of early childhood education. There's a new movement discouraging parents from teaching their kids to share, and it's gaining traction with parents and preschools alike.

Don't Teach Your Children to Share

"Forcing children to share doesn't teach the lessons we want them to learn," Dr. Laura Markham, author of the just-released Peaceful Parent, Happy Siblings, said. "Let's agree that the goal is for our children to grow into generous people who are able to notice and respond to the needs of others." In early educational settings, kids are learning to be able to meet their own needs, which, at this point in their lives, includes working and playing in their communities. "We don't want our kids to feel they should interrupt what they're working on to 'give' something to another child just because the other child asks," she added.

According to Dr. Markham, rather than teaching kids to speak up for themselves, forced sharing teaches them:

  • If I cry loud enough, I get what I want, even if someone else has it.
  • Parents are in charge of who gets what when, and it's arbitrary, depending on their whim and how dramatically I beg for my turn.
  • My sibling and I are in constant competition to get what we need. I don't like him.
  • I guess I'm a greedy person, but that's what I need to be in order to get what I deserve.
  • I better "play fast" because I won't have this item for long.
  • I won! But soon I will lose again. I better protest loudly when my turn is up to get every minute I can. And then start protesting again as soon as it's my sibling's turn. If I make my parent miserable, I'll get more time with the toy.

Give Them Tools Instead

So what should they be taught? Dr. Markham said they need to be given the tools to handle these situations. "We do want our child to notice when another child would like a turn, and to ensure that child gets a turn," she said. "And when someone else has something that our child wants, we hope that she'll be able to control her impulses so she doesn't grab it, but instead will use her words to work out an arrangement so that she can use the object in the future."

By teaching kids to advocate for themselves and not immediately share their toys, they aren't waiting for someone to tell them their time is up, and they can therefore play more freely with them. "The conventional approach of forced sharing undermines the ability of children to lose themselves in play, as well as undermining the sibling relationship by creating constant competition," Dr. Markham explained. "Neither child gets to experience the generosity of having their fill and giving to the other."

So What's a Parent or Educator to Do?

"I encourage self-regulated turns, where the child decides how long to use the toy so she can fully enjoy it, and then can give it up to the other child with an open heart," Dr. Markham said. She believes that doing so will help the child experience the feeling of satisfaction that comes with making someone happy while ultimately teaching generosity. In turn, she believes the experience is more educational, teaching kids:

  • I can ask for what I want. Sometimes I get a turn soon, and sometimes I have to wait.
  • It's OK to cry, but it doesn't mean I get the toy.
  • I don't get everything I want, but I get something better. My parent always understands and helps me when I'm upset.
  • After I cry, I feel better.
  • I can use another toy instead and really enjoy it. I'm getting better at waiting.
  • I don't have to whine and cry to my parent to convince them to get me a turn. Everybody has to wait for their turn, but everybody gets a turn sooner or later.
  • I like the feeling when my sibling gives me the toy. I like her.
  • I can use a toy for as long as I want; nobody will make me give it to my sibling at a moment's notice. When I'm done with the toy and give it to my sibling, I feel good inside - I like to give her a turn. I'm a generous person.

The end result is a child who learns patience and empathy and may be better equipped to handle bigger situations in the future.

Facebook Messenger Wants to Become the Only App You'll Use to Complete Any Task

Imagine using only one app to do any task like book a flight or order flowers. That's exactly what Facebook's Messenger app hopes to become with the introduction of bots, software that can do a variety of these tasks.

Announced at this year's F8, Facebook's annual developer conference, these bots will be able to do any activity like booking you a flight or ordering you food. The goal is to use one app - Facebook Messenger - to do anything. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg showed an example of this ability with 1-800-Flowers (photo below). You can ask 1-800-Flowers on Messenger for a list of flowers, pick one, and say who you want to send it to, and ta-da - you're done. "You never have to call 1-800-Flowers again," Zuckerberg said during the keynote. Or take, for example, reading CNN. The company can send you a daily list of stories to read, and the more you use it, the more personal it will get.

Here's an example of how you'll be able to search for the bots on Messenger.

This new feature will only add to the popularity of Messenger. Over 900 million people use it every month, and the app already supports similar features that reduce the usage of other apps. This includes sending photos, stickers, GIFs, location, money, and more - all features that let you use one app versus several.

Chatbots launch today in beta mode, so you can start talking to several businesses already. Considering you don't need a Facebook account to use Messenger, the app is sure to become even more popular than ever.

9 Things Parents Can Do to Keep Kids Safe If Buying New Cordless Blinds Isn't in the Budget

Every parent wants to keep their child as safe as possible, but for many parents across the country, it isn't financially possible to completely eliminate the risk of window blind cords. Known as the silent killer, these cords have left hundreds of children strangled to death while parents or caregivers are close by. Despite the danger, Rick Steele, cofounder and CMO of SelectBlinds.com, told POPSUGAR that industry resources estimate that the majority of window coverings sold in the United States are still corded, posing a potentially serious health risk to young children and pets.

"All corded products are unsafe and require other safety measures to make them safer," explained Steele. "Going cordless is the only way to be 100 percent kid-safe and pet-safe." If going completely cordless isn't an immediate option, there are still ways to protect your family. Check out these nine things that you can do to keep kids safe if you live in a home with window cords.

  1. Order safety devices online: Not only do cord cleats make corded blinds safer by consolidating the excess cord and keeping it out of reach from a small child, but they can also be ordered online for free.
  2. Pull away all furniture from windows: Children love to climb on things and may still find ways to reach wrapped cords by climbing onto the window sill or furniture. Even if window coverings are secured by cord cleats, all furniture should be moved away from windows to prevent children from accessing any existing cords.
  3. Replace blinds one window at a time if need be: If you're financially unable to change out all of your old window coverings for cordless blinds, consider replacing blinds one window at time, starting with the ones in rooms where your child spends the most of his or her time.
  4. Check out price-comparable options: Don't just automatically assume that cordless blinds are much more expensive. Horizontal shade products, including cellular/honeycomb shades and roller shades, are great economic choices that are comparable in price to their corded versions.
  5. Don't assume they've outgrown the risk: Even if your child is no longer a tot, you still need be vigilant. Accidents have been reported with children up to 8 years old.
  6. Cut the cord: An easy option is to simply cut the cords off your blinds. While this does remove the ability to lift and lower blinds, slats can still be tilted using the tilt wand.
  7. Don't just tuck: It's important to be aware that tucking the cord behind window coverings is not a safe option. It's easier than you might think for little hands to climb to reach tucked or "secured" cords.
  8. Check the product: According to Steele, there are many products being sold by peer-to-peer e-commerce sites that don't conform to the current safety standards and have long inner cords that can easily be pulled out, forming a loop large enough for a child's head. It's also necessary to be aware that even current safety standards of two separate cords or safety releases are not enough to protect all kids because children can easily get wrapped up and tangled in a single cord.
  9. Don't overlook the installation: "Continuous cord loop products are only as safe as they are installed properly," said Steele. "Many people do not properly secure the cord-restraining device to the wall or floor, leaving the cords slack enough for a child's head to fit through." Remember that continuous cord loops are just that, loops, and children are also able to easily tangle themselves in a single cord.

These Simple and Quick Hairstyles Guarantee More Time Having Fun in the Sun

The following post was originally featured on Yanira Garza and written by Yanira Garza, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.

Off to Paris we go and after packing diapers for the little one, extra socks for my big girl, comfy shoes for the Mr and all the skincare my face can handle, I realized that I hadn't put much thought into my hair. I mean, I am going to Paris and my hair had become an after thought. Then I remembered this book and in it, it mentions how effortless Parisian women are with their beauty routine. I decided a flat iron, a hair tie, a few metallic bobby pins, and my John Frieda Frizz Ease KeraFLEX Hairspray will do. I don't want to spend my trip locked in the bathroom trying to tame my hair, so I've come up with these three easy hairstyles for my trip to Paris.

Don't Shop For Tequila Again Until You Learn These 13 Terms

Image Source: Flickr user Hugh Bell

Perhaps you have, like me, stood in a liquor aisle and gazed at an array of tequilas on sale, wondering which was the best to buy. To the unitiated, any tequila will do after thinking about cost, bottle size, and how you'll drink it. It makes sense to want something tasty for a sipping drink, whereas one might be less discerning about a tequila bound for a blender as part of a margarita.

But there's a lot more that goes into to tequila than those simple initial factors. There's a whole glossary of terms that insiders in the tequila-making industry and serious tequila-lovers use. We spoke with Antonio Rodriguez, who is the production manager for the storied tequila brand Patrón. Its tequila is made from blue agave in the Mexican region of Jalisco, and Antonio spoke to me from their production facilities, where he was on a break from overseeing the company's time-honored process.

This, according to Antonio, is what everyone needs to know before they find themselves wandering in the tequila aisle.

  1. 100% Agave Tequila: To Antonio, this is one of the biggest things to look for. "For good, high-quality, it has to be labeled '100% agave tequila,'" he said. All Patrón is labeled as such.
  2. Tequila: Anything labeled just tequila is based 51% on agave, with the remaining alcoholic sugar coming from different sources. As a result, Antonio said, "the quality is very different." Sometimes this is referred to as "mixto" tequila.
  3. Silver: This refers to pure, unaged tequila coming straight from the distilling process.
  4. Reposado: This tequila is aged in barrels for at least two months.
  5. Joven: This type of tequila is in between silver and reposado; it's been aged for less than two months but includes a bit of aged tequila.
  6. Añejo: Tequila aged for a year.
  7. Extra Añejo: The extra designation is added when tequila is aged for three years.
  8. The NOM Number: This is a number on bottles of Mexican-made tequilas, which allow drinkers to find out more about the production facility in which their product was made.

  9. Agave: This is the plant from which tequila is made. According to Antonio, it takes seven years to grow before it's ready to be used in the tequila-making process. It's a hardy plant that grows without needing much tending, just rainwater. The market for agave is always in flux depending on global demand for the plant.
  10. Abocado: This tequila has additives, like caramel coloring or glycerin. Current rules for tequila production don't require that brands reveal the additives on their labels, but Patrón is additive free.
  11. Mezcal: Mezcal is another spirit made from agave plants. Antonio explained that mezcal is a great deal smokier than tequila, partially because it's made using volcanic stones. It's usually made in Southern Mexico, whereas tequila is made in the central part of the country.
  12. Proof: The amount of alcohol in a tequila; often, the range is between 70 and 110 proof. The amount of alcohol in a tequila has an impact on the flavor.
  13. The worm: You won't find a worm in a good bottle, like Patrón. "There are some other agave spirits, usually the very low quality ones, which used to put a worm inside the bottle," Antonio explained, referring to mezcal. "Nowadays, if you see a bottle with that I'd highly recommend not to drink it."

Ikea's New Limited-Edition Collection Is Bizarre in the Most Awesome Way

Ikea is launching two new collections that would please simple and bold tastes alike. Those who are environmentally conscious would love the Användbar collection, which features products made from natural materials including porcelain, terra cotta, glass, wood, and cotton. The eco-friendly line is all about going green and strives to make it easier for customers to help the planet from home. Hanging plant trays, self-watering pots, and a bench equipped with a planter are a few of the greenery displays from the collection. Other products like the stylish bench/waste station and resuable dishcloths help with recycling, cooking, and food storage.

Those more fashion forward and adventurous when it comes to decor might prefer the Giltig collection, which is the polar opposite of the sustainable line. The limited-edition collection that's in collaboration with menswear designer Katie Eary will only be available for a few weeks in the Spring beginning April 25. You'll notice that the tableware and home textiles look as though they came straight off the runway. Unique patterns and quirky prints make up the eclectic collection, which features plates, cups, bowls, aprons, tote bags, and cushion covers, to name just a few. Although loud in design, there's no doubt that pieces from Giltig will revive any room.

Check out lookbook images from both collections ahead, and let us know which one you love more!

This Guy Called in Sick For a Job He Doesn't Actually Have

Sometimes, you'd just rather go fishing. Going to work when it's sunny and you just want to spend time in the great outdoors "with your boys" is definitely grounds for calling in sick - or at least a silly enough excuse to pretend you're calling in sick. The YouTube user in this video, who hilariously goes by CanadianChestHair, pranked a store manager into believing he wanted to call in sick so he could enjoy the day with his friends . . . except he doesn't actually work there. Their ensuing conversation is hilariously weird. We have a feeling that this gag is going to become quite popular.

These 14 JetBlue Facts Will Make You Love the Airline Even More

Image Source: Flickr user Eric Salard

Several years ago when I lived in Boston, I spent a lot of time flying back and forth to where my family lived in North Carolina. After a few trips with JetBlue, it became my go-to airline for the quick trip down the coast. Compared to other airlines I was accustomed to, I could stretch out in coach, the website for booking was so user-friendly, and the tickets were always on the cheap side. Even though I live on the West Coast now, I still stick to JetBlue (and Virgin America) for flights whenever I can, because I'm used to the amenities the airline offers, and I'm not all that willing to give them up now that I know what I'd be missing. From fun advertisements and promos and its new Mint first class program to extra legroom and free snacks, here are 14 facts you should know about JetBlue before flying that will make you appreciate the airline even more.

1. JetBlue offers the most legroom in coach out of any airline.

Compared to other US airlines and based on the average seat pitch, JetBlue's coach, or "core" as the company calls it, is definitely your best bet if you like space but don't want to pay extra for a seat upgrade.

2. The airline is known for its ample in-flight entertainment options.

Each passenger is provided with a personal TV to accompany their seat, and depending on the plane, they're either able to access 36-plus channels of DirecTV or 100-plus channels if you're on an A321. JetBlue passengers also can access a whopping 100-plus channels of XM Radio.

3. JetBlue has a total of 216 aircraft.

Out of these, 26 are A321s, 130 are A320s, and 60 are E190s.

4. Out of these 200-plus aircraft, 150-plus are equipped with Fly-Fi.

The plane's WiFi is the fastest free broadband service in the sky. The company has in-flight content partnerships with Amazon, Time Inc., The Wall Street Journal, Vice, and more.

5. If you check your bag online, you save money.

Your first checked bag is just $20 if you check it online beforehand or at a self-service kiosk. If you wait to check it at the ticket line, it's $25.

6. Redesigned aircraft interiors offer in-seat power and USB at every seat.

JetBlue's redesigned fleet of A320s now offer even more amenities, including increased coach legroom, free Fly-Fi from gate to gate, touchscreen TVs, movies on demand, and in-seat power and USB. What more can you ask for?!

7. The airline is very accomodating to pets.

With its JetPaws program, customers will find it easy to book and fly with their beloved pets. What's even better - TrueBlue customers can actually earn major points (300 per flight!) by flying with their animal.

8. JetBlue flights provide FREE snacks.

The airline goes above and beyond your basic water and peanuts and offers unlimited brand-name snacks and beverages during your flight - free of charge. The airline also has a separate menu of food you have to pay for, but if you want to save money, you can still fill up without dropping any cash.

9. The airline now has a first-class option.

Although formerly known for keeping ticket costs down by offering only a coach seating option, JetBlue recently debuted its Mint Class experience. Fares begin at $599 one way, and the Mint Class perks are pretty sweet.

10. JetBlue's TrueBlue rewards program is SO good.

The program's motto is to "treat loyalty like royalty," and it does so by offering a ton of perks and rewards for being a member of TrueBlue. Users earn three points per every dollar spent, and when you book your flight on jetblue.com, you earn double, or at least six points per every dollar spent. You can even combine your points together with family, friends, roommates - it even lets you define what your JetBlue "family" is with the Family Pooling program! There is no expiration on using your points and no blackout dates.

11. In the event of a flight delay, JetBlue has a solid compensation plan.

The airline aims to "inspire humanity," and it follows this practice through its customer protection policies. Customers are compensated for flight delays based on the nature of the delay as well as the amount of time the delay ends up taking. The airline also has a printable Customer Bill of Rights people can reference if need be.

12. JetBlue has grown A LOT since its first flight in 2000.

The airline now flies to 95 cities, has more than 18,000 crew members, does 900 daily flights, and, in 2015, had 35 million customers.

13. The airline is the first ever to launch a foundation based on STEM education.

JetBlue provides grants for STEM education - or science, technology, engineering, and math education - in order to further "the airline's effort to place aviation top-of-mind as a career choice for students."

14. JetBlue is focused on keeping the company green.

The airline emphasizes the importance of sustainability and follows green procedures to reduce its "environmental footprint."
