Move Over, Zoodles - Black Bean Pasta Is Coming to a Table Near You
Always on the search for pasta alternatives like zoodles, whole wheat pasta, and spaghetti squash, we might have another one: black bean rotini. On my weekly trip to Trader Joe's, I came across an endcap full of organic black bean rotini pasta; after seeing there was only one ingredient - black bean flour - I had to give it a try.
These noodles are packed with double the amount of protein and 650 percent more fiber than your average semolina flour pasta for the same serving size.

Tips on How to Prep These Noodles
According to the cooking instructions on the package, al dente noodles should boiled for 8-10 minutes. I pulled mine at six minutes in hope that the noodles would finish in the sauce but they were already a little past al dente in texture. Next time (and there will be a next time), I'll try at the five-minute mark and let them finish in my sauce. I served mine with just roasted chicken, marinara sauce, and sprinkle of parmesan cheese. These noodles would also make a great cold Summer pasta salad with fresh corn, tomatoes, and a sprinkle of feta cheese. Just be sure as you cook them to check the firmness more frequently than traditional noodles.
Does It Taste Exactly Like Pasta?
No, there is a faint black-bean flavor, and the texture is a little chewier than traditional pasta. Unlike zoodles and spaghetti squash, they actually soak up the flavor of the sauce. Don't have a Trader Joe's in your neighborhood? There are plenty of retailers selling it online.

A Traditional Entryway Is Completely Modernized With Just 2 Easy Changes
It's easy to fall for the charm of an old home, even if you're quite modern yourself. In fact, we think some of the best design comes from the intersection of different styles. Blogger and interior stylist Kirsten Grove agrees, so when her "cool, trendy, and modern" cousins purchased a beautiful 1910 home, she helped them update the entryway by making two simple changes, neither of which infringed on the home's period integrity.
First, she used paint to transform the space, covering up the existing green walls - which were attractive but too traditional for the new homeowners - with a clean white. To contrast the white, she covered the winding staircase in a striking dark gray.
Second, she swapped out the romantic crystal chandelier for a modern, brass, and black pendant. Et voilà! The space went from tired to on-trend and became the perfect representation of its owners without an expensive overhaul. Get the full update story - including paint colors - on Kirsten's blog, Simply Grove.

A Group of Students Created an Algorithm That Can Predict Who Will Die Next on Game of Thrones
Some people have come to think of Spring as a time for fresh starts. Game of Thrones fans know better and associate this time of year with a new season of the show and, of course, wondering which characters they'll have to say goodbye to this time around. A group of students might have solved that dilemma for you, thanks to an algorithm they created that can predict a character's chances of survival and death.
The project, called A Song of Ice and Data, was made by a JavaScript class at the Technical University of Munich. The students created an algorithm that uses machine learning to have a computer decide who will live and die. To create the data set for the machine to use, the students used the wiki page for A Song of Ice and Fire to pull information about all the characters. At first, they had more than 30 different types of factors to choose from and tell the computer. They eventually narrowed it down to 24 factors, such as gender, title, age, if certain family members of a character are still alive, and so on. The result is a short, five-character list of the most likely characters to die next.
No surprises here, but Tommen Baratheon has a 97 percent chance of dying next. Right after him is Stannis Baratheon, with 96 percent, but based on season five's finale, that's not too much of a shocker. What really caught our attention is the third character on this list - Daenerys Targaryen, with a 95 percent chance of dying.
The website also provides a complete ranking on every single character in Game of Thrones, so you can easily look up other characters and their likelihood of living. Somehow, Sansa Stark has only a three percent chance of dying, which is odd considering the rest of the Starks have not fared well throughout the series. Hodor, on the other hand, has a 51 percent chance of dying.
If you're the type of person who spends their free time reading up on every theory out there, you should definitely spend time on the website looking through different characters' survival rates. One final note: since the site uses information based on the wiki, it doesn't seem to take into account any of the information from the show. Good to remember, seeing as the show is about to deviate from the books this season.
Go ahead and get lost in this website and come up with your own theories, and if that's not enough, read up on how mathematicians decided who the real main character of the show is.

10 Things You Should Buy at Target
Christy Palmer, an expert bargain hunter and founder of All Things Target, is giving us yet another reason to shop at Target - as if we needed it! She told us the inside scoop on some of the best things to buy at the store and offered helpful hints on how to save cash at Target by making the most of special deals. The next time you go, keep these tips below in mind.
Best Deals on Items and Brands
Makeup: Makeup at Target is a great deal because you can use a Target coupon along with a manufacturer coupon. "I have often bought makeup for under $1 (or even gotten it for free) due to the fact that I can stack coupons," said Christy.
Personal care items: Target offers a variety of coupons for deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, soap, and more, and the store puts many of these items on sale pretty often, too.
Threshold home decor (Target exclusive): Many of the items from the Threshold brand are similar in style to some of the classic high-end stores but at a much lower price, and according to Christy, the quality is great too.
iTunes gift cards: Target may not be the first place you think of when you think of iTunes gift cards, but you can frequently find them on sale for 10 percent off, so wait for the sale, and get in on the deal!
Circo clothing brand for kids (Target exclusive): "I love the quality of their clothing," Christy told us. "The styles are always cute, and the prices are great. Pair them with a sale and a coupon, and I love the brand even more!"
Photo frames: "Pretty much all the photo frames in my house have come from Target," Christy said. "I love the styles and the prices - it's very easy to find frames on clearance for 70 percent off because they always have to make room for new styles."
Up & Up brand (Target exclusive): "I have found so many of the items in their store brand of the Up & Up line work just as well as the leading brands and a much smaller price. The Up & Up brand of hair detangler works perfect for my girls' hair, and it's much cheaper than the leading brand. I always pick up the Up & Up ibuprofen, cotton balls, and so many more household basics," she says.
Kids' bedding and room decor: Kids' bedding and room decor are often included in Target's special offers, and the quality and design are on par with much more pricey options elsewhere. "Target can do no wrong when it comes to children's bedding . . . This is a great department to find clearance items because the bedding styles and colors often change with the seasons," Christy said. "I have five kids, and pretty much all their bedding and room decor has come from Target."
Best Dollar-Spot Finds
Note cards and stationery item and small buckets/baskets: They are great for gifting and make for a cheap and cute way to dress up a gift for someone.
Holiday items: According to Christy, the dollar-spot section changes with the seasons and holidays, so there is always something new to discover every couple of months. When it clears out the old items to bring in the new, the store will mark down certain dollar-spot items to 50 percent off, and then 70 percent off - which means you might end up paying only 30 cents for them!

11 Facts About Goya That Will Blow Your Mind
Chances are your pantry has more than a few Goya products in it right now, and though most Latinos grew up seeing the chunky font spelling the name on cans, jars, bottles, and bags in our mom's and grandma's kitchens, do we really know much about the history behind the brand? We Have So Many Questions About Alessandra Ambrosio's El Hormiguero Appearance
Alessandra Ambrosio stopped by Spanish talk show El Hormiguero in Madrid on April 28, and things got . . . interesting.
The Brazilian Victoria's Secret Angel wore a fun outfit (hotpants and a tucked-in embellished blouse) and let her silly personality shine as she played along to host Pablo Motos's always-entertaining games, including a seemingly scientific one where he basically gets to kiss her. There's a ping-pong ball in between them and some air blowing from below, but still. Keep scrolling to see pictures of it all - and yes, they're just as glorious as you'd imagine. When you're done, take a scroll through Alessandra's enviable street style.

This Artist Draws Mini Pop Culture Figures That Are Big Enough to Appreciate
Size doesn't matter when it comes to art, and one woman's miniature-size drawings are proof. Italian artist Claudia Maccechini downsizes well-known characters and pop culture figures into remarkably tiny-yet-detailed drawings.
Ironically, she creates them in small scale to allow people to fully appreciate the piece. "I love details but very often they get overlooked because of the hasty eye of the viewer," Maccechini wrote on BoredPanda. "I decided to create miniatures firstly as a passion, but also I wanted to invite people to linger on the image and really observe it."
With more than 3,000 Instagram followers, Claudia's art is really a sight to see - you might even need to bust out a magnifying glass to see it in full. Like artist Lorraine Loots, the bulk of her pieces are inspired by Star Wars and Harry Potter, in addition to classic movies and whatever she's recently seen. Each drawing starts as a pencil sketch and is then filled in with water colors "to add some form and volume." Then, she uses colored pencils to add final details. But just because they're small in size doesn't mean they're quick to create - each drawing takes at least six hours to complete!
Check out some of Claudia's work ahead, and if you like what you see, her pieces are available for purchase on Etsy.
This Hedgehog's Funny Smile Will Make Your Day So Much Better
In case you're looking for a new Instagram obsession or need a little something to brighten up your day, Huff the Hedgehog can take care of both. The adorable palm-size critter, whose formal name is Hodge Huffington, has more than 18,000 Instagram followers thanks to his funny smile. Huff's buck teeth are also making him famously known as the "vampire" hedgehog.
Since being adopted by student Carolyn Parker, the 3-year-old African pygmy hedgehog is having the most lovely adventures around Utah. What started off as just for fun grew into his current online fame. "I started taking pictures of Huff just for fun and sharing the pictures on Facebook," said Parker to ABC News. "I, like a lot of people, struggle with seasonal depression and taking cute pictures with Huff always cheered me up. Still does!"
You'll completely agree with Parker after looking at some of the insanely cute photos ahead with captions of what we think he'd say. Huff and Marutaro the Hedgehog would probably be the best of friends!

Try This 1 Tip on Vacation to Keep Making Phone Calls Without a Problem
Hate going on vacation to a place with no service or somewhere with awful reception? While we can't eliminate those problems, we do have a handy tip to still make phone calls over WiFi.
The feature, called WiFi Calling, is easy to use and turn on. Just head to Settings > Phone > WiFi Calling. Here, swipe to the right to turn it on. Once you do, you'll be walked through the process of setting it up. You'll most likely be asked to verify your address - this is in case you use WiFi Calling for an emergency service and they need to quickly locate you. You can see a photo of what it looks like below.
You can also set up the feature up to receive and make calls on an iPad or iPod - even if your iPhone isn't close. To ensure that it works, verify that those products are signed into iCloud and FaceTime with the same Apple ID that's associated with your iPhone.
WiFi Calling is available on the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus, as well as a variety of other phone models. Since the iOS 9.3 update, all major US carriers, T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint support it, but you definitely should read the fine details. For the most part, these companies won't charge you anything extra domestically, but using WiFi Calling will gobble up any minutes from your cell plan.
So, the next time you're not near great service, just remember - WiFi Calling is your lifesaver! And if you need to text without service, that's also feasible with this handy gadget.

In an Effort to Bounce Back, Chipotle Might Be Adding This Surprising Item to Its Menu
After its E. coli crisis earlier this year, Chipotle has been trying to recuperate its financial and reputation-related losses with giveaways, new cocktails, and now, an exciting prospective menu addition: chorizo.
According to Business Insider, the popular spicy sausage had been tested out in Kansas City last year and proved to be really popular. Chipotle's co-CEO Monty Moran expressed his hope that the chorizo could entice customers and "make our loyal customers come more often."
Though the addition of chorizo seems like a pretty standard one, it is unexpected for Chipotle, given that it never really makes any changes to the menu - except for the introduction of tofu sofritas in 2013.
Since the company has yet to release an official statement about the big chorizo change, we'll just have to stay tuned for when we can expect to see it on the menu.
3 Delicious Wedding Cake Trends Your Taste Buds Will Appreciate
Image Source: Saborea / Joe Colon
Whether you're planning a wedding or will be attending one soon, chances are one thing is on your mind: the cake. Well, brace yourself, because the postnuptial tradition has just been elevated.
While at Puerto Rico's annual food festival, Saborea, POPSUGAR Latina spoke to Puerto Rico Tourism Company's executive chef Norma Llop about the exciting future of wedding cakes and her take on their new direction. And let's just say figurines atop a fondant-laced creation will soon be a distant memory.
Here, discover the trends you can expect to see.
1. Buttercream
Bid farewell to traditional perfect-looking fondant, because buttercream is taking its place as the wedding cake icing of choice. "Buttercream is lighter, fluffier, and cuter," Norma offered, explaining its rise in popularity. "It's relatively easy. It's not sweet." All these factors add up to one end result: more, please!

2. Naked Cakes
If you'd rather just eat the cake instead of having to nibble your way through a layer of frosting, meet the naked cake. It's completely bare of toppings and totally customizable - everything from the flavor, coloring, and even the actual shape of the cake can be personalized. One pro tip you should follow if you choose to go this way: to create a smooth, crumb-free finish, Norma recommends adding chocolate (or some other kind of moisture-rich ingredient) to the mix.
3. Cheesecakes
Cheesecake fans, rejoice! Now is the time for your favorite dessert to shine. But it doesn't have to be a plain old recipe; consider, for example, spicy cheesecake. To achieve the Latin-inspired take on the classic sweet treat, simply use a peppered cheese instead of the standard creamy variety. It'll add some heat while simultaneously satisfying your postreception dinner cravings.
Would You Rather Exercise Intensely For 1 Minute or Moderately For 45?
If you're constantly stressed about fitting a workout into your daily schedule, we have good news. A study published by McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, just released a report corroborating what exercise scientists have long hypothesized: shorter, high-intensity workouts are identically as effective as longer endurance workouts.
Scientists have speculated that high-intensity interval training is equally as beneficial for health as moderate workouts for some time, but studies have not supported the theory until now. After recruiting 25 out-of-shape men, scientists randomly split the sample into three groups: a control, who did not change their exercise regimen, a group who completed a typical 45-minute endurance exercise on a bike, and a group who completed interval training on a bike.
By the end of the study, the endurance group had ridden for 27 hours; comparatively, the interval workout group had ridden for six hours with 36 minutes of intense exercise. When the scientists compared the two groups, they found that their health improved almost identically; both groups' endurance increased by 20 percent, and their insulin resistance improved noticeably. They concluded that neither type of exercise was decidedly better than the other. When asked by The New York Times which type of exercise is more beneficial, Martin Gibala, who oversaw the study, replied: "if you are someone, like me, who just wants to boost health and fitness and you don't have 45 minutes or an hour to work out, our data show that you can get big benefits from even a single minute of intense exercise."
So those who can't find an hour in the day to exercise, high-intensity interval training might be your answer. Even if you squeeze in time for a longer workout, varying your routine one day won't hinder any advancements you've already made or your weight-loss goals.
You'll LOL When You Hear What the Property Brothers Found Inside the Walls of a Reno
If you've ever been frustrated by the part in the beginning of every episode of HGTV's Property Brothers where Drew shows the family their dream home only to dash their dreams by telling them that the house they've just fallen in love with is comically out of their budget, then you're not alone. Jonathan hates that part, too! "He calls it the Drew jerk part," Drew admitted during the Scott brothers' recent appearance on NPR's beloved quiz show, Wait Wait . . . Don't Tell Me!. "I'm just trying to bring people out of the clouds and show them that they've got to be realistic," Drew justified. Jonathan wasn't buying this explanation, claiming, "If Drew had a hairless cat that he could pet while doing that . . . he would!" We can't stop laughing at the image of Drew showing houses as Dr. Evil!
During the radio appearance, Jonathan and Drew also went on to reveal some of the bizarre things they've come across during home renos. "We've opened walls up to find the craziest, most disgusting things you can possibly imagine," shared Jonathan. "On the more pleasant side, I found an entire hidden antique Playboy collection. On the less attractive side, I've found petrified rats who had chewed through electrical and met their demise."
Drew seconds Jonathan's story, adding the unforgettable tale of a Texas home owner who got rid of a raccoon living inside his walls by ripping back a panel and firing off several rounds of his gun. He succeeded in killing the pest, but "after a couple days, the smell [of the dead animal] started to get to him, plus his electrical and plumbing stopped working because he had shot through it." Yikes! Even though the Property Brothers only answered one of the three quiz questions they were asked correctly, we think these hilarious show insights make their appearance a huge success.

Save Money, Look Cute, and DIY Your Very Own Retro Headband
The following post was originally featured on A Charming Project and written by Enid Gonzalez, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.
I love weekend routines, and our favorite thing to do on Sundays is walk over to our local coffee shop. Last week, the barista said that we can just say, "the usual" and he'll know it's a cappuccino for me and americano for Michael (finally, a barista that understands our coffee obsession, bless his heart). We usually try to grab a seat at the window and observe how dogs look like their owners. After that, we'll walk over to the farmers market or grocery store and buy our produce for the week.
Since I love my weekends, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite weekend outfit (polka dot top from H&M and green trousers from Anthropologie). But no outfit is complete without a touch of DIY! So today I'm sharing how I made this matching headband to go with my outfit.
Did I mention it's reversible?!
I only wore the red side of the headband in these photos, but it's totally reversible, and I found a green retro pattern to complement the polka dots, which I'm very excited about! It took me less than 30 minutes to make the headband (because my sewing skills are pretty beginner level), but I plan on making dozens and dozens of these, and I think you will, too. Two fabric quarters will give you 3-4 headbands so you get your money's worth and then some.
You will need:
- Sewing machine (or just needle and thread)
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Piece of drawing paper
- Sewing pins
- Thread (I just ended up using the beige)
- Fold-over elastic (I only used about 3 inches out of the 1 yard)
- 2 fabric quarters
The Old Gods and the New: Your Guide to Religion on Game of Thrones
If you've found yourself tuning out during the plentiful religious speeches in Game of Thrones, you're probably kicking yourself for it now - after all, there's talk of Jon Snow being brought back to life, Arya has gone blind as punishment from some god, and now Daenerys might be forced to become the Dothraki version of a nun. Religion plays a huge role in every single storyline on the show, so in order to fully grasp what's happening in season six, you'll probably need a refresher. Here's what you need to know about the major religions in Game of Thrones . . . including the old gods and the new.
Yes, You Should Be Vacationing in Cabo San Lucas
There's a reason Cabo San Lucas is such a popular vacation destination: there's something for everyone, which is what has kept my family going back year after year. There are restaurants full of fresh, delicious seafood for my parents; fun nightlife for my sister and me; and gorgeous beaches and resorts for everyone.
Although Hurricane Odile took a major toll on the area in 2014, Cabo is now back and better than ever. Read on for my favorite picks - and if you do go, don't be surprised if you spot J Lo, Jessica Alba, or Cameron Diaz, who often vacation at this hot spot.
Looking for another spot in Mexico to visit? Mexico City is the way to go.
Tim Burton Fans Will Freak Out Over This Themed Bar Opening Soon
If you're obsessed with Tim Burton, you better book a flight to New York ASAP. A new bar called Beetle House, named after his classic Beetlejuice film, is set to open at the end of April in the East Village. From Warm Wonka Bar Chocolate Cake and Eggs Skellington to Edward Burger Hands, all the menu items are based on Tim Burton films. The drink menu - you'll see some of its items ahead - is labeled as "poisons, potions, and elixirs." Most of the food however, takes after Sweeney Todd. The bar states that, "All meat sourced locally from 100 percent innocent humans captured wild on the streets of NYC. (Actually organic chemical free meats) (V) Can substitute vegetarian."
Get a glimpse at some of the drinks Beetle House will serve - we really can't wait for this to open. Not a fan of such a grim atmosphere? Check out the Harry Potter-themed bar in Toronto or the Star Wars pop-up restaurant in London.
25 Movie Titles in Spanish That Were Legit Lost in Translation
If you've ever taken a close look at the Spanish-language titles of popular American films, chances are you've noticed that they're called something . . . else. And it does not make sense.
Sure, there isn't always a direct English-Spanish translation, but Latin America really lets its creativity shine when choosing new movie names for its audience - almost always losing the original in the process. (Spoiler alert: not even Lost in Translation could be saved!) Read on to see which of your favorites have been hilariously brutalized.

Every Single Naked Dress Jennifer Lopez Has Worn Since 1997
You might think that Jennifer Lopez's streak of dresses with necklines down to her belly button and slits up to her thighs started with that famous Versace green dress she wore to the Grammys in the '90s, but let us tell you that after intense research, we've come to the conclusion the naked dress trend was started by J Lo much, much earlier.
The singer and actress was truly the pioneer of the barely there dress that has now invaded the red carpet, starting with no backs in 1997 and ending most recently with sheer gowns and jumpsuits that leave little to the imagination. Here, for your viewing pleasure, is every single naked dress (yes, every single one!) that J Lo has graced us with.
Daddy Yankee and Don Omar Have the Ultimate Reggaeton Battle at the Latin Billboards

Watch the full thing above for the first time or over and over again - we won't blame you, because we're doing the same. Once you're done, check out what everyone wore on the red carpet, and Juan Gabriel's epic performance with Juanes and Alejandro Fernández.
