A Debate Over the Monkey Emoji Is Tearing the Internet Apart

There are many debates on the internet that unite and divide us. A new one brewing over the three monkey emoji is the latest one. Started by Twitter comedian Jonny Sun, the tweet asks a simple question: Are the three monkey emoji that make different faces the same monkey or three different monkeys?

Of course, the poll instantly drove Twitter users into an outrage and everyone is picking a different side for several reasons.

The poll, which ends in two days, is pretty spilt. So far, of the 158,452 votes, 52 percent believe it's one monkey and 48 percent believe it's three different monkeys. Sun himself believes it's only one monkey. Now it's time for you to decide. Is it one monkey or three? Let us know in our poll.

The Scary Thing You Shouldn't Do After Drinking Wine

Spoiler alert: staining your teeth isn't the only impact wine can have on your dental health. There's one thing you should never do right after finishing your glass if you care about keeping your mouth in good shape: brush your teeth. The reason is that brushing your teeth after sipping wine can seriously damage tooth enamel. Both red and white have high levels of acidity (although white has way more), and it's important to wait about an hour before taking a brush to your teeth. "Leaving time before brushing teeth gives the enamel a chance to recover from the acid attack and makes it less susceptible to being brushed away," BBC News reported after speaking to a dental professor about the effects of wine's acidity.

A study about the relationship between wine and enamel damage published in the Nutrition Research journal offers up additional scientific proof. The study's abstract reads, "It was demonstrated that white wines have higher erosive potentials than red wines. Within the limits of this study, it can be predicted that a frequent consumption of white wines might lead to severe dental erosion."

Maybe you're quick to brush your teeth to get rid of the red-wine-induced purple stains on your teeth and lips, or maybe - like me - you wind down at night with a glass or two, so you end up brushing your teeth before bed soon after taking your last sip. But now that I know the effects, especially as I sip on Chardonnay and Rosé during Summer, I'll be sure to wait at least an hour before reaching for my toothbrush.

Astronomers Discover Largest Unnamed Planet With 45-Hour-Long Days

We have two dwarf planets in our solar system - Pluto and Eris - and NASA has revealed that it's adding one more to the lineup. Researchers from Konkoly Observatory revealed in the Astronomical Journal that the planet, named 2007 OR10, is the third largest dwarf planet in our solar system. Its diameter is 955 miles, while Pluto measures 1,475 miles and Eris 14,445 miles.

Though researchers have known that a planet was out there, they did not guess one of this size. Konkoly researchers combined data from two different space observatories and, with the help of the Kepler and Herschel telescopes, determined 2007 OR10's measurement. The planet is said to have a dark surface and strange orbit, details that made it hard for scientists to previously determine its size. The red surface might be due to layers of methane ice, and the planet's slow rotation means it has a 45-hour day - one of the solar system's longest. This news comes after NASA also said that its Kepler Mission discovered a whopping 1,284 new planets! Stay tuned to see what else NASA and scientists continue to discover.

The Harry Potter Fan Theory That J.K. Rowling Finds "Strangely Upsetting"

While J.K. Rowling typically entertains - or just doesn't acknowledge - circulating Harry Potter fan theories, she has some pretty strong feelings about a recent one involving Dumbledore and horcruxes.

One of the YouTube vloggers behind SuperCarlinBrothers, Jonathan Carlin, recently fleshed out a theory that Professor Dumbledore's animal companion, Fawkes, was actually a horcrux - implying that the greatest wizard of all time dabbled in dark magic.

Per Rowling's universe, horcruxes are created to attain immortality. However, they also involve murdering someone else in order to make one. This theory posits that though Dumbledore didn't deliberately murder anyone, he did still harbor guilt over the death of his sister, which he ultimately blamed himself for. Since Dumbledore pinned his sister's murder on his own neglect, he theoretically had a chance to perform dark magic and create a horcrux. You can watch a video about the theory below.

Though Carlin makes a strong case for this theory, Rowling straight up denied it when it was brought to her attention on Twitter - and even went so far as to call it "upsetting."

As other people on Twitter noted, Dumbledore didn't fear death and therefore did not desire immortality. His incomparable goodness also makes it really hard to believe that he would do something so evil in nature. Luckily, we can all let out a sigh of relief and thank Rowling for at least acknowledging this troubling one.

Who Pays For What in a Wedding

We're way past the age where we have to stick to certain outdated rules when it comes to weddings, such as the bride's parents footing the bill for most of the whole wedding. This Billboard Asks Drivers to Text and Drive For a Very Important Reason

Checking our phones these days is almost like a reflex. We all do it - even in situations when we shouldn't, like while driving. Since it's become such a dangerous activity, a digital agency and advertising company teamed up to create a billboard that encourages drivers to text and drive - for a good reason.

The billboard, which is up on the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto, says "Text and Drive" in all caps and shows a logo of a "Wathan Funeral Home." If your first instinct is to google the company, that's exactly what they want you to do because their website holds an important message.

If you're here, you've probably seen our "Text and Drive" billboard. And if you have, you probably came to this website to tell us what horrible people we are for running an ad like that. And you'd be right. It is a horrible thing for a funeral home to do. But we're not a funeral home. We're just trying to get Canadians to stop texting and driving, which is projected to kill more people in Ontario this year than drinking and driving. That's right. More.

The note, developed by the Montreal office of digital agency John St. and Cieslok Media ad company, goes on to mention that most people would never dare to drink and drive. Yet people text and drive, and that's even more dangerous. The two companies even developed a video quickly explaining why they felt compelled to do this. Watch it below.

It's incredible to think that we've reached an age where public service announcements are now warning about texting and driving more than drinking and driving. Hopefully this billboard delivers the right message to all drivers - your life is more important than a text.

Feng Shui Bedroom Tips to Improve Your Sex Life

The ancient Chinese art and science of feng shui helps us understand our environment and live in harmony with it. For thousands of years, people have observed patterns in nature and how these patterns affect us. Now, in time for Valentine's Day, use these traditional feng shui principles to make your bedroom a haven of rest, intimacy, and connection for you and your partner.

1. Let the Chi Flow

Energy flows through a room like water in a stream - swiftly through the deepest channels, more slowly along the bank, and not at all in that pile of junk in the corner. Plan your room's layout with the eye of a feng shui practitioner: eliminate stagnant areas like half-completed projects or piles of unfolded laundry, make sure closets aren't overcrowded, and keep the passageways around your room easy to navigate and free from clutter to let the chi flow.

2. Design For the Five Senses

Your bedroom is your shelter from the storm. Delight the five senses by filling it with anything soft, sensuous, or soothing: soft rugs for your cold feet, a luxurious faux fur throw, fluffy down pillows and duvets, scents from essential oils, a luxe velvet robe, the softest silk negligee, a cluster of candles or a low wattage lamp, and a record player with an old record collection waiting nearby.

3. Watch Out For Sha Chi

Sha Chi is anything unpleasant that brings negative energy: a smelly pile of dirty laundry, harsh overhead lighting, clutter, dirt, or unclean bed linens. Charge your phone or tablet elsewhere to eliminate unwanted magnetic radiation, and wake up to a soundless (no tick tock!) clock with a gradual alarm like this one. Rid your room of anything dangerous, such as a rickety ceiling fan or a shelf with heavy objects mounted over your head.

4. Balance the Masculine and Feminine

Make sure the yin and the yang are represented in equal measure. This doesn't mean that your room has to look like a sterile hotel room; the goal is to make it welcoming to both genders. Balance a floral quilt with a leather trunk at the foot of the bed, or pair a pile of embroidered pillows with a Pendleton wool throw across the bottom of the bed.

5. Bed Placement Is Key

Where you place your bed is very important in feng shui. Choose the wrong wall and you risk a long string of restless nights. The path from your bedroom door to the window has the strongest flow of energy; keep your bed out of this path if possible. Positioning your bed in front of a window is a big feng shui no-no. Ideally you should have a solid headboard or wall behind your bed (no diagonal placement either), a small table or chair on either side for support, and a low bench or a trunk at the foot of the bed.

6. Consider the Neighbors

If you share a house with roommates or little ones, a lock on the door is critical for making your room a love nest! Your bedroom is the place where you want to feel most secure and relaxed. The last thing you want is to be constantly worried about a surprise visit. Sound dampening creates a more intimate space as well; items such as an upholstered headboard, curtains, and rugs all contribute to a feeling of privacy and seclusion.

7. Choosing Your Colors

Rather than prescribe a set color palette for the bedroom, traditional feng shui emphasizes the pursuit of balance. If your bedroom is a sunny beachside retreat, then crisp starched linens and light blue accents will feel cool and refreshing in contrast. If, on the other hand, your bedroom is in a snowy mountaintop lodge, accents of warm reds, dark woods, and golden lamplight will provide much needed warmth.

8. Avoid the Bedroom Office

A bedroom is no place for an office. A creative corner, maybe, but a technology-filled, deadline-driven, endless to-do list office? A constant reminder of your unread inbox does not cultivate rest or intimacy. Consider a mobile office that partners a laptop with your dining room table (and attractive storage for all your supplies) before you resort to a bedroom office.

10 Food Items You Should Stop Buying (and Make Instead!)

Groceries are EXPENSIVE. While I try to keep tabs on my grocery store purchases during my trip up and down the aisles, I'm still a little shocked at the prices of some items when I read the final tally on the receipt. We all know that we pay a premium for packaged foods, but even though I'd love to make my own freshly baked bread, I'm not likely to fit it into my work schedule week after week. There are several foods that are simple to make and worth the effort since they'll save you at the grocery store. The next time you reach for that container of hummus, consider pulling out the food processor and making it instead!

Have You Heard of Dance Yoga? We Think You're Going to Love It

Do you like yoga? Do you like dance? Have you tried the two . . . together?

Thanks to the Wanderlust 108 Festival I attended last weekend, I got a taste of dance yoga for the very first time. I knew I loved "dancing" to the beat on a stationary bike, so dance-centric fitness was already in my wheelhouse. I love yoga, so I assumed I'd love dance yoga, too - and I was right. It was AWESOME.

Set to music spun by a DJ, and hosted by an emcee (named MC Yogi, no less), we came into a high Crescent Lunge. Once we were set in our pose, the emcee had us waving our hands side to side, like we were at a concert. We put one hand on the ground, and came into a Revolved Side Angle, one hand stretched toward the sky - and everyone was snapping their fingers with a little twist of the wrist. It was beautiful, it was in sync, and it truly was a yoga dance party.

MC Yogi doesn't just lead dance yoga at Wanderlust; he tours around the country, fusing music and yoga together for thousands of people. In his words, "Yoga is evolving in America." He wants us to "dig down and discover where it comes from, how it relates to us, and how we can really move it forward so that it can benefit humanity."

Similarly, yoga studios across the country are fusing music, rhythm, and dance into their practices, offering more variety in their programming. Some studios, like Ritual Yoga, are specifically dedicated to a rhythmically focused practice, making the connection between dance and yoga stronger than ever.

Dance yoga is a fun, approachable access point to a fitness practice that can be life-changing. The feeling that comes from this renewing, exciting practice is indescribable. You can likely find dance yoga in some form at a studio near you, but if the festival atmosphere is more your scene, we suggest checking out Wanderlust 108, or finding a similar event in your community.

The Quick and Dirty Details of Scandal's Season Finale

Scandal is known for some particularly off-the-wall finale episodes, but the season five finale felt strangely tame - especially for a season in which Olivia beats someone to death with a chair. We now officially know who Frankie and Mellie's running mates are, and Jake and Olivia's relationship is, well, even more complicated than before. (I'm on Team J'Olivia and I'm still confused.) There aren't a ton of "holy sh*t" moments in the episode, but there are a few plot points that you'll need to keep in your brain until season six starts in the Fall. Take a look!

Gordon Ramsay's Transformative Way to Scramble Eggs

Yes, there are a million different scrambled eggs techniques out there, but Gordon Ramsay's will be your full-stop method. While at a press event to promote his new game with Glu Mobile, I asked chef Ramsay to go through the proper way to scramble eggs. His unique method has a heartwarming tale:

"After training in London, I wanted to become French, so I went to the birthplace of all cuisine. I remember seeing this amazing dish with scrambled eggs and sea urchin. I tasted the sea urchin through the scrambled eggs . . . and they topped it with caviar. I thought it was wild. I had never put sea urchin in scrambled eggs. The texture was just incredible. It made it so much creamier. What was more accessible to the average person at home making scrambled eggs - I knew that was crème fraiche. I perfected that craft in France making scrambled eggs to order, standing in Guy Savoy's restaurant behind the line as a 22-year-old."

But crème fraiche isn't the only thing that makes these scrambled eggs different from the rest. It's cooked in a pot! The eggs aren't seasoned from the start! Most of the cooking is done off the flame! Are you baffled yet? Me too, which is why I had to try the method out for myself. So where to begin? Start by watching Gordon's YouTube video. He shared a hilarious story about it:

I think there's about 15 million people online who have [watched] that scrambled eggs video. And it transforms the way you eat eggs. Incredible. It's a kind of rich, sumptuous way to eat scrambled eggs even for dinner, even with all the steps. It's just delicious on sourdough bread. My video, with 15 million downloads on YouTube, I burn the f*cking toast. I'm not so far down my backside. I make mistakes. I just start again. It's funny. I'm so into my scrambled eggs, focusing away. Fire alarm is going off and I burn my toast."

Like Gordon, my first attempt didn't go off hitch-free. I'm unfortunately going to need a few more practices to end up with perfectly custardy, voluminous eggs like Gordon, but what I did make was truly exceptional and unlike any scrambled eggs I've ever had before. I can't wait to keep on practicing, and neither will you once you've memorized the steps.

This Artist Uses Plants and Flowers to Create Unique Tattoos

Deciding on what to get as your next tattoo? You might want to fly to Ukraine to try the latest trend, where an artist uses real-life plants and flowers to create unique tattoos.

Based in Kiev, tattoo artist Rita "Rit Kit" Zolotukhina uses real plants and flowers to create a design that is completely your own. To do this, Zolotukhina submerges the plant in tattoo stencil ink. After the dipped plant or flower is placed on your skin, Zolotukhina sketches in the rest of the tattoo and wipes it away during the actual tattooing process. The final design usually includes the natural occurring differences in nature like a missing leaf.

The artist behind these tattoos really enjoys making these designs. "It's my favorite way to make tattoos, and I think the most natural," Zolotukhina said to Illusion Magazine. "They're like botanical fingerprints on the bodies of other brave nature loves."

Check out some of Zolotukhina's amazing work ahead, and be sure to follow her on Instagram. If this doesn't suit your needs, you can always try the 3D tattoo trend instead.

Everything We Know About the Sons of Anarchy Spinoff Series

Brace yourselves, Sons of Anarchy fans, because new details have been released on the spinoff series! It's been months since Kurt Sutter revealed plans for the show, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, FX has ordered a script for the spinoff, which is called Mayans MC. Here's everything we know about the show so far:

  • The same team is behind it. The Sons of Anarchy co-creators, Sutter and Elgin James, are developing the spinoff series together.
  • It will have the "same spirit" as Sons of Anarchy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mayans MC has been described as "a dark, visceral family drama that takes a new look at the most American of icons, the 1 percent outlaw, this time, reflected through a Latino lens."
  • The tone will be different. In a series of tweets last year, Sutter said, "Although the Mayan Project may intersect with SOA charters, it will be a very different show. Tone, pace, storytelling, will be unique."
  • We may see some familiar faces. "Mayan Project won't take place in NoCal. That steps on SOA mythology," Sutter tweeted last year, adding, "Although I'd love to find a way to use my brother, @EmilioRivera48."

She painted the chairs the same vibrant blue as her kitchen and added fun, striped upholstery to them, and applied a semitransparent white stain to the table legs. The result is a playful dining set with much more charm and character than its budget price tag would allow you to believe. Check out the makeover details on Hometalk.
