25 Mexican Recipes For People Who Really Effing Hate Cilantro
The Best Way to Grill Asparagus
Before I learned this method, my grilled asparagus always ended up stringy, charred, and shriveled. I had all but given up hope that it could ever taste good, unless wrapped in bacon. However, while at a dinner party, I learned a new way of cooking it that is foolproof.
Buy thick, hearty stalks of asparagus. These are less likely to fall through grill grates. Prep the asparagus by snapping off the woody ends and then peeling the stalk skin.
Lightly coat the asparagus in a neutral-tasting, high-heat oil, using your hands to evenly coat each stalk.
In a medium-high grill, place the asparagus stalks perpendicular to the grill grates. Close the top and allow the asparagus to cook/steam for approximately 30 seconds. Open the grill top, use tongs to flip toss the asparagus around, close the top, and cook for another 30 seconds.
Remove from the grill and salt and pepper to taste.
That's it! You can try leaving the asparagus on longer, if you prefer grill marks, but you will find this quick method cooks the asparagus through while maintaining a slight crunch.

Not only did she blow everyone away with her chilling vocals, but she also received a standing ovation from the crowd afterwards. She was definitely one of the brightest stars of the night.
This Oreo Bagel Recipe Is Better Than a Batch of Slutty Brownies
Not only are Oreo bagels with Oreo cream cheese a real thing that's happening in the world, but it's also something that can happen right in your very own kitchen with our hacked recipe to what is fast becoming an Oreo-lover obsession. Bagels made with a smooth mix of chocolate and vanilla are filled with a creamy Oreo cream cheese and, of course, a handful of fresh cookies layered right in the center. Are you ready for this?
Ingredients
1 cup warm water, divided2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 cup cream cheese
24 Oreos
Directions
- Place 1/2 cup of water and yeast in a stand-up mixer fitted with a dough hook. Stir and let stand until slightly foamy, approximately 4 to 5 minutes. Add sugar, and mix.
- In a separate bowl, mix together flour and salt, and then gently mix it into the yeast mixture. Add the rest of the water a little at a time until the dough comes together. Remove from the mixer and place in an oiled bowl. Cover with a warm towel and let rest for 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Remove the dough and knead in vanilla bean paste. Once fully incorporated, divide the dough in half and knead cocoa powder into 1/2 of the doug,h forming a dark and light dough. Split the dough balls in half once again and roll out into squares.
- Layer the dough light, dark, light, dark, and then slice into 4 strips. Take each strip and gently roll into a bagel shape. Pinch together the ends so they stay.
- Preheat an oven to 375°F and grease a baking sheet with oil.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and boil the bagels for 45 seconds on each side. Remove bagels from the water and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the bagel is cooked through and the exterior is firm to the touch. Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack.
- In a food processor, crumble 8 Oreos until they are a fine crumb. Mix in cream cheese until incorporated. Cut bagels in half and spread generously with cream cheese. Add 2 Oreos to each bagel and cover with even more cream cheese. Sandwich with the top half of the bagel, and enjoy.

The Perfect Grill If You Are Completely Afraid of Grilling
When Bjorn stripped the egg of its protective nest covering, it was like a magician unveiling a trick. The Big Green Egg sparkled, and so did my eyes. He explained that beyond being completely in love with the grill, he's a big fan of the product's eggcessories, the fire starters and charcoal being two "egg-sentials." I was amazed how easy it was to build the fire, start it, and control the heat. One of my favorite features of the BGE (look at me, sounding all legitimate) is the thermometer on the grill, so you can constantly monitor the heat. Though the Big Green Egg can easily and quickly reach 700°F (and higher!), the temperature can just as easily come down using the sliding air flow controls located on the top of the bottom of the grill.
As we waited for the BGE to come to temperature, Bjorn schooled me on the features. That night, we used the BGE as a grill only, but it can also serve as a smoker and outdoor oven. According to another POPSUGAR employee, the baking stone eggcessory is a must as BGE pizza is just as good, if not better, than pizza from a wood-burning oven. After seeing the BGE in action, I can see how.
We roasted asparagus in a flash (less than a minute!!) and a whole lamb leg in under an hour. It turned out succulent and perfectly medium-rare on the inside while evenly caramelized on the outside. It was a true marvel how little fussing we had to do over the coals and the meat.
The BGE is like the Apple of the grilling world. It's exceptionally designed and constructed. It's so easy to use, you hardly need an instruction manual. You'll feel an immense boost of confidence in your ability to grill, even if you are a total newbie. Yet, even seasoned grillers will salivate over the BGE's immaculate features. So here's where things get a little disheartening: the price tag. While there are a bunch of different BGE sizes, the smallest one (the mini) is $699. Eeks! Here's to throwing your loose change in a piggy bank, because you will definitely want to save up for this grilling toy.

Nutritionists Recommend the Perfect Dinner Equation For Weight Loss
Want to know how the last meal of the day can help you drop pounds? We've enlisted the expertise of two nutritionists - Stephanie Clarke, RD, and Willow Jarosh, RD, of C&J Nutrition - to share the perfect equation for what to eat for supper to help you lose weight. Follow their advice below to start seeing results.
Calories
Aim for a range between 450 and 550 calories. If you're trying to lose weight, stay closer to 450, and if you're trying to maintain weight, especially if you're working out, shoot closer to 550 calories.
Carbs
About 45 to 55 percent of your dinner calories should be devoted to carbs, which is about 50 to 75 grams of carbs. Don't be afraid to eat carbs at night because you're worried you won't have time to burn them off. As long as you're sticking to your total calorie amount for the day, eating carbs at this meal isn't more likely to cause weight gain. Actually, eating enough carbs at dinner can dissolve those postdinner carb cravings for sweets and chips.
Protein
About 20 to 25 percent of your dinner calorie amount should be protein, which works out to 25 to 35 grams. Protein is vital to help rebuild and maintain muscle, and since your body does a lot of rebuilding at night, ensuring your dinner includes enough protein is important. Protein also makes you feel satisfied, which is another tool for preventing postdinner noshing sessions.
Fats
Shoot for about 15 to 25 grams, which is about 30 to 35 percent of your total supper calories. Instead of saturated fats like beef and cheese, go for monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) like olive oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, avocado, olives, and nuts and seeds.
Fiber
To help you reach the recommended daily total of 25 grams per day, aim for at least eight grams at dinnertime. This should be coming primarily from fiber-rich carb choices like whole grains, starchy veggies, beans, small amounts of fruit, and fiber-containing fats such as avocado, nuts, and seeds.
Sugars
Stick to no more than seven grams or fewer of total sugars. And when it comes to added sugar, try not to exceed four grams - that's about one teaspoon of any sweetener used in sauces or dressing.
Timing
Ideally you should eat dinner about two to three hours after your 3:30 p.m. afternoon snack. If you plan to exercise after work, fuel up with a later-afternoon snack around 4:30 p.m. Then you can exercise at 5:30 p.m. for an hour and eat dinner by 7/7:30 p.m. As mentioned above, don't worry about eating dinner too late. As long as you don't exceed your daily calories, what time you eat won't impact your weight.

Dinner Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping carbs: People often go carb-free as a way to lose weight quickly, but forbidding yourself this important nutrient will make carb cravings even stronger, leading to carb bingeing. Including healthy fiber-rich carbs such as whole grains, starchy veggies, and beans will actually satiate your hunger longer and make eating a balanced diet easier to sustain in the long term.
- Enormous plates: Dinner-size plates are pretty standard, but the amount of food you can pile on one can add up to two or three times the amount of calories you should have at dinner. Downsize your plates and use either smaller-sized salad plates or cereal bowls. Don't be afraid to measure out portions, and once you do, pack leftovers away in the fridge for tomorrow's lunch so you're not tempted to grab a few extra bites.
- Setting a strict dinner time: While there's something to be said for giving yourself guidelines for not snacking after a certain time (e.g., after you've already eaten dinner), if you find yourself skipping dinner because it's too late, then you may be setting yourself up to overeat the following day. Eating after 8 p.m. (or any time) won't make you gain weight, so there's no need to skip it. Just be sure your dinner is balanced and doesn't make you exceed your daily calorie limit for the day.
Looking to lose weight during other times of the day? Here's what to eat for breakfast and what to eat for lunch, as well as what to eat at snack time to lose weight.
What's the Deal With Greyscale? Let's Investigate
Before she meets her untimely demise, did you ever find yourself rewinding and pausing Game of Thrones to get a better look at Princess Shireen's face full of scales? Then you might be wondering what exactly the deal is with greyscale, the bizarre affliction that plagued Stannis Baratheon's daughter and is now slowly taking over Jorah Mormont's body. Now that greyscale is becoming more relevant, let's take a look at what we actually know about it from the show itself.
What are the symptoms?
The skin becomes rough, gray, and scaly. As George R. R. Martin explains in a featurette about the disease (see below), "it calcifies the skin." At first, it's just a thin patch, but it can consume your whole body. "It's a death sentence," he adds. Gilly also tells Shireen about how when her sisters contracted it, they began to act like animals and didn't sound like themselves anymore. This means that not only is it a physical disease, it's mental as well. Martin confirmed this, saying if it affects your brain, it brings madness.
Is there a cure?
As he tells Shireen in the fifth season, Stannis has spent a lot of money seeking a cure for her. It takes every healer in the land, but he is able to slow the progress of his daughter's greyscale until it stops. She still has the scales on her face, but she survives. So while it is possible to stop greyscale, it's incredibly difficult, and we don't exactly know what "cure" the healers found.
Is it contagious?
Yes, but how it's transmitted isn't fully explained. When attacked by the Stone Men, Jorah yells out to Tyrion to not let them touch him, because they think the disease is spread by physical contact. In fact, it's Jorah who becomes infected - but is it because he's touched, or is it spread another way? In Shireen's case, she exhibits symptoms as a baby after playing with a doll that a trader had brought over from Dorne. Stannis even says that he remembers pressing the doll up to her cheek, where she now has scales.
What happens to people who have greyscale?
Historically, they're quarantined. Gilly tells Shireen about how Craster dragged her sisters into the woods on a rope, and Shireen is locked in her room in the castle for most of her life. The afflicted are often sent to live in a colony in Valyria, and Stannis even tells Shireen that people wanted him to send her to live out the rest of her short life there. The people there, known as the Stone Men, are in the later stages of greyscale.
What do the books say about the origins of greyscale?
According to Martin's series, greyscale originates when the legendary Prince Garin cursed Valyria after its dragons destroyed his army. He asked the river to smite the people, and that night it flooded the towns. Immediately, people began dying of greyscale. In A Dance With Dragons, the fifth book, an infected man says that death from greyscale is slow, between two and five years. The show differs from the books in a few ways, so we're not positive this also applies to the characters on the show. If it does, however, that means Jorah should better figure out what Stannis's men did to Shireen.

If This Theory About Jane the Virgin's Next Season Is True, the Show Is Taking a Huge Turn
If you haven't seen Jane the Virgin's finale episode, turn back now. All the rest of you, come on in.
The final episode of season two is a real shocker: Jane and Michael get married, but on their all-important wedding night, Michael is shot by his partner Susanna, who is revealed to be Rose. It's very unlikely that he survives, unless for some reason he thinks to wear a bullet-proof vest on his wedding day. The finale is a cliffhanger of epic proportions, and while we can deduce that season three will focus on Jane coming to terms with Michael's passing, there is another hint in the episode about what's to come.
The episode's minor subplot revolves around Jane changing her thesis. Jane has always been preoccupied with romance, and her previous thesis reflects not only her fixation with the "perfect romance," but the show's plot about her getting married to the man of her dreams.
"I can't spend an entire year working on something I'm not passionate about," Jane tells Professor Donaldson on the finale. If the theory holds true that Jane's writing mirrors what happens on the show, that means her current path is changing along with her thesis. Jane can't spend next season settling into boring old married life with Michael, it wouldn't be passionate enough for the pseudo telenovela! But then what does next season hold?
"I know what my new thesis should be. It's a love story loosely based on my grandparents," Jane says. "It'll start in Venezuela and explore class differences, religion, sexual stigma, their journey to America - I may even make it bilingual even!" This doesn't mean that season three will be all about Alba, but it might mean that Jane's path will closely follow Alba's. After all, like her grandmother, Jane is (probably) also a widow now. It also means that next season will be more serious than seasons one and two, exploring real issues.
If you're thinking that this sounds like a stretch, consider the character of Professor Donaldson. She has served as a surrogate for the writers before, like the time she brought up whether Jane's writing would follow the Bechdel test, then the entire episode becomes one giant Bechdel test. On the finale, the narrator brings up that the professor "hates the marriage plot," right as Jane is shifting her thesis from romance to reality. The professor (and the board) accept Jane's new thesis proposal, possibly signaling that the writers are taking a new direction on the new season.
The 10 Secrets of Happy, Healthy Women
Ready to make space for some much needed balance in your world? Follow these simple and straightforward rules to cultivate the happy and healthy life you've always craved.

Number One: Keep Mornings Calm
Even five minutes of pure relaxation make a huge difference in your mood and energy all day. Leave plenty of time to eat a filling breakfast, stretch or meditate, and have a calm commute to start every day out on a happy Zen note.
Number Two: Make Time to Move
Exercise ups endorphins, boosts immunity, relieves stress, and keeps you feeling strong and confident in your body. There's no need to go crazy with an intense hour-long workout every day of the week, but a little daily exercise is some of the best medicine available for the body and mind.

Number Three: Eat Real Food
Processed junk food makes your blood sugar spike, pumps your body with unnatural ingredients, and leaves you feeling hungry and unsatisfied soon after you eat. Choosing real, whole, all-natural clean foods just makes sense if you are serious about your health and happiness.
Number Four: Reach For Water
When feeling fatigued or in need of a boost, don't immediately reach for a caffeinated or sugary beverage. Often, a foggy, tired brain is a sign of dehydration, so sip on plenty of water all day to keep energy levels up and soaring.

Number Five: Listen When Your Body Talks
Happy people help their bodies work with them instead of against them. They put down their fork when they've had enough, hit up a yoga class when they need a release, and don't pour that third (or fourth) cocktail when they know it's not a good idea. If you're willing to listen, your body has plenty to say.
Number Six: Love Those Vegetables
Vegetables are not added to a plate because your body has to eat them: it's because it wants to eat them. Colorful produce is packed with nutrients that keep your body functioning at its top potential.
Number Seven: Invest in Fitness and Health
Don't wait until you're feeling poorly and out of sorts to take care of your needs. Commit to that studio package, get an occasional massage, and make those doctor appointments that it's time to schedule.

Number Eight: Remember to Be Grateful
When someone's attention is focused on lack, that's exactly what they're going to get: more lack. Instead of focusing on the job they don't have or a number on the scale they don't want to see, positive people are not afraid to give thanks for all the gifts they have in life - both large and small.
Number Nine: Slow Down to Smile
Life is not always so serious for happy and healthy folks. They make time to connect with loved ones and are not afraid to show kindness to strangers. Laughing helps too.

Number 10: Rest
When tired or feeling worn out, don't schedule another activity or commit to another event. Having healthy boundaries keeps you feeling safe, connected, and energized, so take alone time to recharge at home. And when it's time to get some sleep, turn off the computers, stop binging on Netflix, and get to bed.

85 Items You Should DEFINITELY Buy at the Dollar Store
When I was a little kid, my parents made quite a few trips to the local Dollar Tree - and I always tagged along. Do This Every Day to Lose Weight (20 Pounds in 6 Months!)
No matter how you feel about the weighing yourself, Dietitian Julie Upton, MS, RD, of Appetite For Health, shares details from a new study on how the scale can help with weight loss.
According to a first-of-its-kind study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, researchers from Duke University Obesity Prevention Program reported that those who weighed themselves daily lost about three times as much weight and body fat, compared to those stepped on the scale less frequently.
Related: Nutritionist-Recommended Foods to Suppress Your Appetite Naturally
The Duke obesity researchers enrolled 47 overweight men and women into a weight loss clinical trial that used electronic scales that were networked to the researchers' computer network. All subjects were instructed to weigh in daily and were given some basic advice about healthy eating and exercise behaviors (i.e., increase water consumption, walk more, eat fewer snacks, enjoy more fruits/veggies).
Using data from the subjects' escales, the researchers could objectively track the frequency of weigh-ins as well as the actual weights recorded. Previous studies have relied on subjects' self-reported information about weigh-ins, which is considered less reliable.
After six months, the researchers evaluated both body weight and composition of all subjects and found that those who weighed in daily (51 percent of all subjects) lost an average of 20 pounds, compared to about seven pounds lost among those who weighed themselves about five days per week. Subjects who weighed themselves daily were also more likely to report following through on more healthy diet and lifestyle behaviors.
The authors concluded: "Daily weighing may trigger the self-regulatory processes that promote behavior change. Those who weigh daily report greater adoption of diet and exercise behaviors associated with weight control."

This study adds to previous studies that also reported that those who weigh themselves more frequently lose more weight and are less likely to gain weight over time. As a dietitian, I've always been hesitant to recommend getting obsessed with the number on the scale, but newer studies suggest that it's important to keep tabs on your body weight so that you can alter behaviors when you notice small increases in weight gain. It's a lot easier to lose three or five pounds than it is to lose 20 or more, so frequent weigh-ins are one way to keep your weight stable for a lifetime.
Shrink Down Back Fat With These Effective Poses
While there's no miracle move to diminish back bulge - it's a matter of doing calorie-burning cardio to decrease your overall percentage of body fat - it's still important to strengthen and tone the muscles in that area of the body. Here are nine yoga poses that will target all the areas of your back.
The Me Before You Soundtrack Is Your New Favorite Playlist
Music can make or break a movie, and in the case of Me Before You, the soundtrack elevates the story to a whole new (very emotional) level. Unfortunately, Jessie Ware's "Till the End" isn't available on YouTube or Spotify (yet), but we've rounded up all the other tracks, plus one bonus song that's in the movie but not on the soundtrack. What Is a Kingsmoot and What Does It Mean For Game of Thrones?
Balon Greyjoy meets his end in this season of Game of Thrones, which means it's about to go down in the Iron Islands. As Yara helps send her father off to sea, she and her uncle Aeron briefly discuss that the next ruler of the Iron Islands will be determined by "kingsmoot." But what exactly is a kingsmoot? Let's investigate. (Warning: there are potentially some light spoilers ahead from the A Song of Ice and Fire book series.)
It's an Ironborn thing
Rather than just going to the next nonbastard in line like many other parts of the Seven Kingdoms, the ruler of the Iron Islands is often picked via election. It's considered to be part of the "old way," which basically means it's a tradition that's been going on for essentially forever. The event is led by a priest of the Drowned God (the religion followed by most inhabitants of the Iron Islands).
How does it work?
The deal is that any ship's captain can throw his (or her, as the rare case may be) name in the ring to be the next High King of the Iron Islands. If you're not a ship's captain, you need not apply. Each candidate must have the support of three champions and is allowed to make a speech about why he should win and can give gifts to help his cause as well. The kingsmoot goes on until the masses are chanting the name of just one candidate, which means it can last for five minutes or five months.
Who will be involved?
For starters, you can expect Euron Greyjoy to be front and center, since the whole reason they're having a kingsmoot is because he murdered his brother Balon. Of Balon's two remaining brothers, there's Aeron (whom we meet in episode two of season six), but since he's a priest, it's more likely that he'll be overseeing the event than actively trying to participate in it, and Victarion, who has a role in the book version but could be excluded from the show. Yara's chances are unlikely because she's a woman, but she's never been one to go down without a fight, so she'll probably be angling to take the throne. It's also an interesting point that Theon has just decided to head home: how will he affect the kingsmoot?

Game of Thrones: Who Exactly Are the Sons of the Harpy and What Do They Want?
Forget the Night's King, the White Walkers, and the wights; one of the biggest threats to our precious Game of Thrones characters is the Sons of the Harpy. They make their first appearance on the season five premiere, slaying a member of the Unsullied who just wants to get his cuddle on with a prostitute. That's just the beginning. They go on to launch two full-scale attacks, murder Ser Barristan, and wound Grey Worm severely. They nearly kill Daenerys at the fighting pits before she escapes on Drogon, and on the season six premiere, we see that they set the city on fire in her absence. The masked men have it out for Daenerys, but why? And who are they? Time for a Game of Thrones investigation.
Who Are They?
From what we know based on the TV show (not the books), the Sons of the Harpy are a radical underground group comprised of former slave-holders from the largest house in Meereen. The harpy, a mythological creature with the head and torso of a woman and the wings, tail, and legs of a bird, is a traditional symbol of slave masters in Slaver's Bay (the region in which Meereen is located), which is why the group has adopted the harpy mask as their disguise. Though there is a leader of the Sons of the Harpy in the book (referred to as The Harpy), a leader hasn't been introduced in the show yet - if there even is one.
What Do They Want?
They want their city back! They don't like the way Daenerys has come in and disrupted their entire way of life, freeing their slaves and taking away the great power they once had over Meereen. They're banding together to topple the empire that Daenerys is building for herself and restore the old way of life, which includes slavery.
How Can Daenerys Stop Them?
The Sons of the Harpy are a force to be reckoned with, as witnessed by their surprise attack at the fighting pit and the way they have taken over Meereen. The group is huge, and if it weren't for Drogon's return, Daenerys would almost certainly be dead. This might be a turning point for Daenerys, who has thus far tried to maintain order the old-fashioned way - by crucifying the former masters. She has avoided using her dragons to keep citizens in line, even locking them away when they accidentally scorched a small child. Now, she may be realizing that she needs to bring them back out to defeat the growing army of the Sons of the Harpy. The only question is, will she find her way back to Meereen?

Ingredients
2 large eggs3/4 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Directions
- In a blender, add eggs, buttermilk, sugar, vanilla, and salt. Blend on the lowest speed for just a few seconds until combined. Add flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Continue blending for 15 to 20 seconds or until the batter is completely combined.
- Heat a sauté pan over medium-low heat and using a pastry brush, brush the inside of a ring mold with oil. Add remaining oil to pan and place the ring mold in the center of the pan. Let heat up for a few minutes and then pour the pancake batter into the mold until it is half full. Be careful to not add too much because the batter will expand and spill over the side.
- Cook the pancake for four minutes or until bubbles start to form on the top of the pancake. Use a spatula to carefully flip the pancake and mold over and continue cooking for an additional three minutes, or until the bottom of the pancake is golden brown and the inside is no longer runny. Serve stacked with butter and syrup.
