Everyone's Favorite Chewbacca-Masked Mom Just Visited Facebook

If you haven't seen it by now, a mom visited Kohl's, picked up a Chewbacca mask, and posted on Facebook Live a video of her hysterically laughing at the costume. After Candace Payne live streamed her experience with "her friends on the internet webs" (as she calls it), the video is now the most watched Facebook Live video with more than 145 million views. The video, and her priceless reaction to the mask, is sure to make even the most somber person laugh.

After she appeared on James Corden's The Late Late Show with J.J. Abrams himself, Mark Zuckerberg invited Candace to the Facebook headquarters. When she visited the office, Candace was met with quite the surprise . . . the real Chewbacca! The pair seemed to have quite the time exploring Facebook - we can only imagine how many giggles they shared. We're not sure what's next for Candace, but we're certain her reign of joy isn't ending any time soon.

15 Things Incredibly Happy People Do

Life isn't always a walk in the park. So how do happy people get through a rough day? These tips are small things that happy people do to make life just a little bit better, and now you can too. Just remember: a smile is contagious, so don't forget to show off your pearly whites any chance you get.

1. They Turn Mistakes Into Lessons

As much as we try to strive for perfection, mistakes are an inevitable part of life. While it's easy to beat yourself up when a new job just isn't working out or a relationship falls apart, focusing on learning from what went wrong will help you turn a mistake into something productive. When something goes wrong, consider it an opportunity to grow and become an even better version of yourself.

2. They Go Offline

Obsessing over social media sites is a bad habit that we all have, but looking at pictures of other people's amazing vacations and delicious desserts isn't doing anything for you. Make a pact with yourself to unplug every day - you can read a book, call a friend, or even just choose to paint your nails - but just signing off allows you to live your life instead of watching other people live theirs.

3. They Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

Bad days happen. You spill coffee down your shirt running out the door, you accidentally overdraft a card. . . . There are plenty of instances where anger, disappointment, and anxiety are totally reasonable reactions, but they don't have to be your final reactions. Learning to let go of the little things you can't control will allow you to focus better on the positive aspects of life. While those small things totally suck, there's something great around the corner that is more worthy of your time and energy.

4. They Plan Getaways

Even if you can't afford a cross-continent trip, there are plenty of budget-friendly ways to get out there and see the world. Experiencing a new culture or food or a change in scenery is a great way to bring a little extra happiness into your life. Whether you book a trip alone or with a buddy, traveling helps you to create memories that you will never forget.

5. They Say Thank You

Saying thank you is an easy way to pay it forward and make everyone's day a little brighter. During a busy day, take a second to stop and be grateful for the small stuff. It may not come naturally, but in the long run, it really will increase your happiness. Whether it's a friendly checkout person at the drugstore or a co-worker who holds the elevator so you can jump in, there are plenty of opportunities to stop and appreciate the little things.

6. They Give Themselves a Break

Putting in long hours at the office is draining, but there's a little trick that will help you to be both happier and more productive: take a break. Even if you bring your own lunch, step out for a brisk walk around the block. Getting your body moving and taking your eyes off your screen will help you come back after just five minutes, feeling refreshed and ready to tackle whatever project is up next on the agenda.

7. They Turn a To-Do List Into a Game

Doing chores is not usually considered fun, but there are ways to transform busywork into something more exciting. The next time you need to tackle a bedroom cleanup, set a phone timer for 10 minutes and race against the clock to accomplish as much as you can while time ticks away. Ten minutes will be over before you know it, and in your haste to beat the clock, you'll find that a daunting task has disappeared before your eyes.

8. They Build Relationships

Maintaining friendships is an important part of leading a happy and full life. Whether you have a few close friends or a big social circle, keeping in contact and having a buddy to cheer you up can make a huge difference.

9. They Don't Blame the Past

Instead of dwelling on the things that went wrong in your past, make your time more meaningful by looking to the future. When you stay positive and think about the things you can accomplish, you're able to find peace with the things that may not have gone your way before.

10. They Fake It Till They Make It

Some days just start off bad, and from the moment you wake up, you really just want an excuse to stay under the covers. When you have no choice but to get up and face the day, try faking a smile through your morning routine.

11. They Take Chances

Instead of waiting for opportunities to fall into your lap, take control. Putting yourself out there can feel like a challenge, but once you take a risk, whether it's searching for a new job or asking a friend out on a date, you will be rewarded.

12. They Get Their Beauty Rest

Catching a few extra hours of ZZZ's can make a big difference. When you're feeling groggy or under the weather, it's hard to put your best foot forward. While you definitely shouldn't sacrifice your plans just to hit the hay, make sure you make time to catch up on your sleep.

13. They Get Moving

While a marathon may not be on the horizon, physical activity is an important part of leading a happier life. Working out releases endorphins and help you banish a blah mood for good.

14. They Are Honest

They say "honesty is the best policy," and when it comes to health and happiness, this couldn't be more true. Lies cause stress and anxiety, and life is too short not to live authentically.

15. They Don't Compare Themselves to Others

Everyone has their own path in life, and when you start to compare yours to others', you take focus away from personal progress. While jealousy can be hard to beat, learning to let go of how you stack up to others will ultimately help you to focus on your own successes.

5 Healthy Reasons to Have a Glass of Wine Tonight

It seems like no one can get enough of red wine, scientists included; every day there seems to be another study touting the amazing benefits of the plum-colored beverage. Lucky for us, the proof is in the long-stemmed glass (just one, since drinking more may be detrimental to your health). Here are five reasons unwinding with a glass of red after a long day should be on your list of to-dos - one reason for every workday!

  1. It's good for your heart: Antioxidants in red wine called flavonoids have been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease by lowering LDL (bad cholesterol) levels and increasing the production of good cholesterol. According to researchers at the University of California, Davis, certain varietals have more concentrations of flavonoids than others. Of the most common red varietals, Cabernet Sauvignon has the most flavonoids, followed closely by Petite Sirah and Pinot Noir, then Merlot and Red Zinfandel.
  2. It can lower depression: While heavy drinking has been linked to mental health problems, drinking a glass of red wine a day may do the opposite. A recent study found that moderate drinkers (those who drank two to seven small glasses of wine a week) were less likely to suffer from depression than those who drank more or less.
  3. It can help your gut: That morning bowl of Greek yogurt isn't the only thing that's helping your gut. A study found that drinking red wine increases the amount of good bacteria levels in your digestive tract.
  4. It may help you lose fat: New research is studying the effects of piceatannol, a compound found in red wine that is converted from the antioxidant resveratrol, has on fat. A recent lab study found that piceatannol blocks fat cells from forming, and more studies are looking at how the compound can help us slim down.
  5. It can improve memory: Polyphenols, also found in tea, nuts, berries, and cocoa, can improve your memory and may also decrease the risk of Alzheimer's disease.

Experts Say This Is the Number 1 Way to Lose Weight

You've tried everything, but this year is going to be different. This is the year that you're finally getting down to business and losing the weight you've gained, whether it was from too many slices of pizza and beer in college, stuborn pregnancy weight, or that "food baby" you've been growing with pints of ice cream. You've had enough, and although you know there's no easy fix, we asked certified dietitian Leslie Langevin, MS, RD, CD of Whole Health Nutrition to share the one simple thing you need to do to jump-start your weight loss and start seeing results.

We might as well have asked our mothers, because her advice is the same: to "eat more vegetables." There are so many reasons to eat them - they're low in calories and many are also low in carbs. The high-water content and all the chewing it takes to break vegetables down in your mouth can help you feel full faster, so you eat less food overall. Plus the high amount of fiber in veggies will keep you feeling full for longer to prevent snacking later.

Eating more veggies is a growing trend, and it seems that in 2016, plants will be the new meat, moving veggies from the side of the plate to the center. The easiest way to eat more veggies is to include them in every meal and snack - even breakfast. Not sure how to snack on veggies aside from hitting the salad bar or ordering a side of sweet potato fries? Check out the ideas below to get you onboard the all-day veggie train.

The Space Between Us: This Interplanetary Romance Looks Surprisingly Touching

Asa Butterfield and Britt Robertson are the stars of The Space Between Us, possibly the least conventional love story of 2016. Gardner is basically a Martian; he is born and raised on Mars. Tulsa is just a regular girl, going to high school in Colorado. They happen to meet in a chat room; though Gardner (understandably) keeps his origins a secret, he seeks out Tulsa when he travels to Earth to find his father. It sounds far-fetched, but the trailer is actually really touching, possibly thanks to Vance Joy's "Fire and the Flood." Watch the trailer and check out the pictures; the movie is out on Aug. 19!

Brittnay told the Daily Mail that her daughter is a loyal Justin fan. She discovered her fondness for this particular song while Layla was hungry and crying - and it has been on repeat ever since. While the chords of the track instantly calm Layla, you can probably also guess what happens when it goes off. Check it out to crack up at the adorable Belieber's reaction to the tune.

This Woman Just Announced She's Pregnant With Her Late Husband's Baby a Year After His Death

Kristen Tripson and her husband, Sam, froze embryos back in 2012 and decided that although Sam was battling stage IV lymphoma, those babies - their potential children - would have a chance at life no matter what. Less than a year after Sam's death, Kristen underwent IVF and is now 17 weeks pregnant with Sam's child.

"I know this isn't going to be easy," Kristen told Us Weekly. "I'm not scared, I'm so excited to meet this little person. It's hard to process, but just having a chance to meet another one of Sam's children, it just blows my mind. He was so funny and so silly . . . and I love it when I see that in my children now . . . I get little reminders of Sam every day."

Kristen is due on Oct. 28 and doesn't want to know the sex of the baby, as the couple didn't find out with their other two children, Jack, 5, and Alice Ann, 2. "Will it be a little Sam? Who knows? But they'll be perfect."

Stretch Your Dollar: DIY Instagram Canvas Prints

If you love snapping cool pictures with your smartphone using Instagram or Hipstamatic but don't know what to do with those square shots, then try making your own canvas print. Instead of tossing down the cash for square picture frames or paying up to $20 a pop for a professional small canvas print, try this easy DIY that rings in around $5. Pick up a square canvas at your craft store along with Mod Podge, which is basically the adult version of white glue. And no need for fancy photo paper; basic printer paper works wonderfully. So select your favorite print, and get ready for a picture-perfect project.

What You'll Need:

  • 6-by-6-inch square canvas
  • Sandpaper
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam brush
  • Paintbrush
  • Black acrylic paint
  • Square picture
  • Paper cutter or scissors
  • Scrap paper

Directions:

  1. Select a picture that you'd like for creating the print. Resize the image using your computer until it is 6 by 6 inches and then print, using the best printer settings. Gather the other materials for creating the canvas print before getting started.
  1. Use a paper cutter to trim the image, creating a perfect square. You can position the print over the canvas to double-check its size, trimming as needed.
  1. Give the front of the canvas a quick sanding with fine sandpaper, which helps the Mod Podge really adhere to the print and canvas.
  1. With a foam brush, coat the front of the canvas with a layer of Mod Podge and then position the print, smoothing gently. Don't worry if there are any bumps or puckers, they will smooth out once the glue is dry. Let rest for an hour before the next step.
  1. Now coat the print with a layer of Mod Podge, working first horizontally with the foam brush and then vertically. Once again, don't worry about any bumps; they'll disappear as the canvas dries.
  1. Place a piece of scrap paper under the canvas, and coat the sides with black acrylic paint, which really makes this DIY look professional. Touch up the black paint if needed.
  1. Once dry, find the perfect spot for hanging the finished canvas print, or give it to a special someone as a gift.

19 Things You Never Knew About HomeGoods

Few stores inspire devotion in their customers like HomeGoods. Treasures abound in HomeGoods locations across the country, and for that reason shoppers are seriously dedicated to the brand.

But, frankly, shopping at HomeGoods makes me curious. Where do buyers find the merchandise? How do certain items end up at my local HomeGoods, and not elsewhere? I have so many questions, but so few answers.

It turns out I'm not the only one. The company is notoriously secretive about their corporate processes. Fortunately, some answers are out there if one does a little digging. If you'd like to know more about the magical store that is HomeGoods, then read on.

5 Things at Hotels You Should Always Avoid Touching

I grew up with a clean-freak mom who always brought disinfecting Lysol to hotels during family vacations. I used to poke fun at her germ obsession, but now I realize that was a smart move . . . a really smart move. You know the obvious: the same hotel rooms are used by many different people. But you might not know that hotel cleaning practices are not always up to par, and there can be some seriously nasty stuff lurking in the room you're sleeping in. Of course, this is not an all-inclusive assumption - there are undoubtedly many hotel maids who do their jobs well and clean everything the way it's supposed to be cleaned. But there are exceptions, and there are hidden cameras to prove it. Just to be safe, these are five things you should always avoid when traveling and staying in a hotel room, or make sure to disinfect them or bring your own.

  1. The pillowcases: It's a no-brainer that sheets need to be changed between one guest and the next. Thankfully, this seems to happen most of the time. Pillowcases are another story. When the Today show completed a hotel investigation across the country in five of the nation's top hotel chains like Holiday Inn and The Crowne Plaza, their hidden cameras revealed a common bed-changing practice among maids: placing the pillows on the chair next to the bed while changing the sheets, and then giving the dirty pillows a mere fluff before putting them back. There might not be visible stains, but a surface that's touched by people's hair and faces needs to be washed. BYOP is the new BYOB.
  2. The TV remote: We don't usually incorporate the remotes in our homes into our daily cleaning routines, and it doesn't seem that people cleaning hotel rooms do either. A microbiologist took swabs from various items in hotel rooms and found that the remotes in each room ranked the highest on the germ meter and analyzed the results in a lab, where she found "colonies of E. Coli," among other potentially dangerous contaminates. She noted, "This indicates there was fecal contamination on the remote, so perhaps someone used the restroom and didn't wash their hands when they were done." Lesson learned: always disinfect remotes before you touch them, just in case.
  3. The comforter: If you've always felt weird about cozying up with the top-layer comforter on your hotel bed, you're not alone. The comforters tie the rooms together and make them look nice, but they're not cleaned in between each use . . . or barely at all. A CNN investigation found that bedspreads "might only be changed four times a year." Bringing an extra blanket if you can is always a good idea so that you can remove the comforter.
  4. The glasses and mugs: Proceed with caution before you drink out of a glass or mug in the room. Investigation after investigation has found that many times, maids quickly rinse out used glasses without washing them, or worse, spray them with a cleaning liquid that says "do not drink." Luckily, most hotel rooms now offer those individual cups wrapped in plastic, so always use those if you can.
  5. The phone: Want some room service? You'll want to clean the phone with disinfecting wipes or spray first. In nearly all the hotels part of the Today show's investigation last year, the phones were high on the list of the most germ-filled items - sometimes they were three times the limit. Like remotes, phone surfaces are often overlooked during cleaning routines, but they're some of the most-touched spots in hotels. The takeaway: you can never be too cautious when it comes to hotel germs!

Why Jay Garrick Suiting Up as the Flash Is a Bigger Deal Than You Thought

Season two of The Flash concluded this week, with a finale jam-packed with plot twists and, yes, even a long-awaited kiss. The team defeats Zoom, and we finally find out who the "man in the iron mask" is: Jay Garrick - as in the original Jay Garrick, not the nightmare of a person who turns out to be Zoom. That's not even the best part! It turns out that Jay is the Earth-3 doppelgänger of Barry's dad, you know, the one who Zoom just murdered. It's a shock for Barry to see a man who looks just like his father again, but it's even crazier when you realize that John Wesley Shipp, the man who plays Henry Allen/Jay Garrick, was the original Flash on the short-lived series in 1990. Check him out:

Here he is out of the suit; you're welcome.

6 Things We Learned About Ghostbusters After Spending a Day on the Set

It's a wet - like, really soaking wet - September morning on the Weymouth, MA, set of Ghostbusters, just about an hour's drive outside of Boston. Today, the cast and crew are in the middle of a major centerpiece scene that features ghosts from different eras and time periods battling it out with the Busters themselves in Times Square. An expansive greenscreen is set up in the former airplane hangar, which has been converted into a soundstage. One of the many dozens of extras sits huddled on a stool as she waits to be summoned. Head down, she's absorbed in her iPhone - the technology providing a comic contrast to the 1700s-era petticoats and undead, gray-ish makeup she wears.

As far as set visits go, there's very little of the scene to actually see given the aforementioned greenscreen. (There is a groan among several of the journalists assembled when we are told that Chris Hemsworth wrapped his role mere days before our arrival. He, too, will go unseen.) But it is a pretty entertaining thing to behold, anyway: the comedic powerhouses who make up the core cast - Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, and Kristen Wiig - are stunting and improvising their hearts out in a near total visual and sensory vacuum . . . and nailing it anyway. In between takes, we talk with the stars and director Paul Feig about the making of the film, the don't-call-it-a-remake plot, and some of the bigger conversations around gender and nostalgia Ghostbusters has sparked, all before even hitting theaters.

29 Cillian Murphy Movie GIFs That'll Convince You He's Frighteningly Sexy

Until somewhat recently, versatile Irish actor Cillian Murphy was often regarded as more of a go-to villain than as a sex symbol . . . but that was before the world saw him in Peaky Blinders and realized that he's drop-dead gorgeous. How his chiseled bone structure and striking blue eyes avoided widespread celebrity-crush status for so long is a mystery, because Murphy has been gorgeous from the start of his career - and we've rounded up 29 movie moments that prove it. Before reading on, be warned: his signature jaw clench may cause heart palpitations.

Pink Turns the Stage Into Her Own Wonderland During a Performance of "Just Like Fire"

We just can't get enough of Pink. After getting surprised by her celeb crush, Johnny Depp, on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the singer gave yet another remarkable performance of her hit "Just Like Fire" from the upcoming film Alice Through the Looking Glass. Not only is she the epitome of cool as she belts out the lyrics in a flowing pink dress, but she basically turns the stage into her own Wonderland. Long story short, we're kind of obsessed!

Kate Mara's New Horror Movie Will Make the Hairs Stand Up on the Back of Your Neck

Kate Mara knows how to handle terror. She was featured in the very first season of American Horror Story, and she starred in Fantastic Four. (Oh, Fantastic Four burn!) Now she's in a sci-fi horror flick called Morgan, which has a rather ambiguous trailer out now. She's playing a corporate troubleshooter who goes to investigate a bizarre accident caused by some half-human/half-science experiment called Morgan. Anya Taylor-Joy, Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Paul Giamatti are all costarring, and the film doesn't have a release date yet. In the meantime, you can check out these horror movies hitting theaters this Summer!

The Bond Between These Triplets and Their Garbage Men Is Like Nothing You've Ever Seen

Tuesdays and Fridays are very special days for Holden, Heaton, and Wilder Reich. In fact, twice a week, these 2-year-old triplets eagerly wait in anticipation, and as the big moment draws near, both Heaton and Wilder grab a bottle of Gatorade, run down to the end of their driveway, and sit in suspense.

As soon as they hear the familiar honk of their good friends - whom they lovingly refer to as Mr. Rob and Mr. Chad - the kids wave as the garbage collectors pull over for a special visit. After excited squeals and big hugs are exchanged, the toddlers eagerly give their favorite guys each a drink and sometimes even homemade treats like chocolate cookies. The hardworking men then excitedly (and patiently) allow the little ones to be helpers.

"I'm grateful for today," the toddlers' mom, Martha Sugalski, wrote on Facebook. "Grateful the babies were able to see their friends that they clearly love so much. Grateful that these men take time out of their busy schedule to hang with us for a little bit on Tuesdays and Fridays. They truly are our favorite days of the week."

14 '80s Movies You NEED to Show Your Kids Today (and Not a Disney Movie in Sight)

Every generation has their flicks. My parents made me sit through Lawrence of Arabia and The Godfather, but few flicks are as generationally relevant as the classic '80s films so many of us grew up watching. I'm looking at you, John Hughes. You defined a generation. You taught us what it meant to be an angsty teen. You provided us with hours upon hours of VHS enjoyment!

With news that Pretty in Pink will be returning to theaters next month for the flick's 30th anniversary (yes, we are that old), I quickly started brainstorming my favorite movies from my childhood that my kids MUST see. It isn't pretty - '80s fashion leaves much to be desired - but the stories stand the test of time and give kids a glimpse at life before cell phones, texting, and the Internet, along with some great life lessons. Read on to see what you should add to your family's movie-night list now!

8 Things You Never Knew About Trader Joe's, Straight From a Former Employee

I spoke to a former employee who worked at Trader Joe's for a year, and he gave me the inside scoop on how the company is run, the little-known details of the return policy, and what the point of those somewhat-annoying bells is. Spoiler alert: there's no real dirt (I tried!), but what I got was interesting, behind-the-scenes intel that made me an even bigger fan of the store.

There's a reason the customer service is so good.

Trader Joe's strategy in providing a quality customer-service experience is simple: overstaff. "They totally overstaff so that you don't feel like your stocking duties or your register duties trump interacting with customers - they encourage you to be nice to customers." That's why you can almost always find someone in a Hawaiian t-shirt or crew-member uniform walking around and waiting to help you find anything.

The employees try all the new products so they know what to tell customers.

"Each Trader Joe's has a break room, and they have one person who's in charge of cooking new stuff that the store gets and making it available for the entire staff who comes through the store that day to try it. They want you to try all the products so you can have an opinion so that when you recommend stuff to people, it's not baseless."

The pay is REALLY good.

This guy started out at Trader Joe's making $12/hour, which was above the state's minimum wage. You not only start out making a good amount, but it gets even better quickly. After three months of working more than 30 hours a week, you get health insurance and a 401K. You'll also likely get a raise once or twice a year. A friend of this employee worked at Trader Joe's for over five years and made $21/hour - that's an annual salary of $42K.

They donate all unsold food.

"Trader Joe's donates a ton of food. It's called 'spoils,' which just means it's not in perfect shape. There's nothing wrong with eating a lime with a couple brown spots, but if you wouldn't buy it and be excited about buying it, then it gets put with spoils and typically gets donated. They donate flowers, produce - everything - to local organizations."

There's a method behind the bell ringing.

You've sometimes noticed employees ringing bells while you're checking out, right? There's a method to the madness, and it's sort of like the store's secret language for various customer-service needs. "One bell means everyone to your register, which means the lines are getting too long and they need everyone at a register. Two bells means you need an employee to come over and help with something. For example, let's say the bag of spinach you bought is partially opened or looks bad; you ring two bells and an employee will come over and grab a new one for you. Three bells means a manager needs to come over."

Every store has an in-house artist.

"Literally all of the signage around the store is custom-made by two or three artists who hang out in the back and almost exclusively do that, and register work every once in a while." That's why every store has location-based art throughout the store - pretty cool, right?

You can return ANYTHING.

Seriously, you could open a bag of popcorn, try it, and bring it back if you didn't like it - for a full refund. "You see that a lot. You get people who come back and say, 'Hey, I tried it, but I didn't really like it.'" Excuse me while I go try every single thing in the snack aisle.

They strive to create an experience that's beyond grocery shopping.

"They really push this whole, 'we don't want you to feel like you're just grocery shopping' thing. They want it to be an experience - something that pulls you out of the monotony of your everyday life."
