The Latest Place Pregnant Women Are Being Told to Avoid ASAP
Pregnant women and their significant others have officially been advised to stay away from a community north of downtown Miami where the number of confirmed Zika cases is actively rising.
The Centers for Disease Control made this unprecedented travel warning after 10 additional people, bringing the total to 14, have been infected with the virus from local mosquitoes. According to the CDC's director, Dr. Tom Frieden, this is the first time Americans have been advised not to travel to an area within the United States out of concern of contracting an infectious disease.
"We wish we had all the answers, but the fact is this is a new phenomenon," Frieden said during a news conference. "We continue to learn each day about Zika."
For couples who are pregnant or trying to conceive and live near the active transmission area, the CDC recommends that both males and females use protective clothing and repellent to protect themselves against mosquito bites. They also warn that these couples should use sexual protection for the rest of the pregnancy.
The CDC is also advising any pregnant women who live locally or who have traveled to that area to be tested both during their first and second trimester - even if they're showing no symptoms. These couples should also partake in only safe sex through the length of their pregnancy.
For those who are trying to conceive but have visited the affected area, the CDC advises that they wait at least eight weeks after they return. Men with symptoms should postpone trying for at least six months.

NikkieTutorials DIYs Harley Quinn's Glam Makeup From Suicide Squad
We already called that Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad would be the It girl costume for beauty-lovers when we created this video. So it's exciting to watch the YouTube vlogging community take on this look, including NikkieTutorials. Nikkie is one of our favorite beauty vloggers, because she started the "power of makeup" trend and she recently collaborated with Too Faced on a makeup palette.
Nikkie makes the look her own by giving it her own alluring edge. "This is Harley Quinn super glam for a night out with the Joker!" she enthused. Nikkie is known for loving shimmer, dazzling eye makeup, and flawless skin - and this video showcases all of that.
Eva Mendes Opens Up About Her Brother's Heartbreaking Death
Eva Mendes might be the most private celebrity in Hollywood, rarely giving interviews and keeping her pregnancies top secret. But in a recent interview with Latina for the magazine's August 2016 issue, the actress and fashion designer opens up not only about her home life, but also about the devastating death of her brother Carlos, the birth of her second daughter with Ryan Gosling, and why she's taking a break from acting. Scroll ahead for some of the revealing quotes and to see her stunning cover (read the rest when the issue hits stands on Aug. 9), then check out the Disney story behind her first daughter's name, Esmeralda.
- On the loss of her brother, Carlos: "Losing my brother brought our family closer, and we were already close to begin with. So to just see everybody be there for one another and show up, I feel so lucky to have them. And then they were there for me when Amada was born. We had a funeral service for him and that same week I had the baby. So it was really, really intense and obviously beyond heartbreaking, but also kind of beautiful."
- On motherhood: "Well, I have two girls. That's a lot. It's early for me to make any big statement about having children. My older little girl is not yet 2 years old. My little one is still an infant, and right now it's really about surviving those nights and trying to enjoy this time as much as possible with them, and start the bond between Esmeralda and Amada. It's a really, really special time. I'm loving it."
- On the story behind the name Amada: "My grandmother's name is Amada, and Esmeralda Amada is the name of our oldest. We had a few names picked out for our new baby, and when she was born, we didn't feel like those names were her. We came up with a few more, even that morning, and tried them out. We were like, 'What about Viviana?' But we just kept going back to Amada. In true Latin fashion, we reuse names all the time. I used to know five sisters that were all Maria del Carmen, Maria Elena, Maria Liliana . . ."
12 Amazing Ways to Use Aloe Vera in Your Beauty Routine
I very distinctly remember being in elementary school when I learned about the powers of aloe vera. It was the magical ingredient that could help soothe a sunburn - and it was a plant. I found it odd, and that it smelled weird, but I vividly remember being told to stay away from the packaged green goo labeled "aloe vera gel" at the store and opt for the real thing.
Most everyone knows that aloe has great healing properties, so yes, it is great for sunburns, but it can also help heal a variety of other things, such as acne and scars. It's even been known to help grow longer lashes when mixed with castor oil. And adding it into a face mask is a surefire way to calm inflamed, irritated skin.
While the plant is always best, there are plenty of organic, natural aloe vera gel products out there that can get the job done, too. Check out our 12 favorite uses for this miracle plant, and let us know how you use it in the comments below!
This Is What It's Like to Live With Birth Marks Covering Your Face and Body
"Ugh, what happened to you?" "You're not pretty like the other girls." "No one likes you. You look like you're covered in dirt." "No one is ever going to like you."
These remarks were the norm for me when I was growing up. Every comment hurt a little bit more than the last. I subconsciously hoarded them until they started to become the very things I was telling myself. I have a rare epidermal nevus condition called Phacomatosis pigmentokeratotica, which affects about 1 in 2,000 people. A nevus is the scientific term for birthmark or mole. My case is caused by a genetic mutation, although the specific gene remains unknown. It isn't something you'd see everyday, which was why I garnered this kind of attention.
I might've only been 7 or 8 years old, but I could still understand the magnitude of disgust behind every mean comment. I was constantly bullied in school by my peers. They would make fun of me for looking different. During sixth grade lunch hour, a boy threw food at me and crumpled notes with mean things written on them such as, "You're ugly." The harassment didn't stop with my classmates.
Parents of these kids would tell my mom and dad that I should have surgery to remove them, because I wasn't attractive. Adults walking past me would sneer at the sight of me and take pictures to laugh at. My sixth grade Spanish teacher even publically bullied me in front of class and said, "Why don't you go and connect the dots on your face?" You could imagine the amount of emotional trauma this caused to my self-esteem. I received positive comments here and there, but it was always the negative ones that held more weight to me.
My mom would take many measures to cover me up as best as she could to protect me from the world. I was always outfitted in turtlenecks and long pants. When it got hot, my mom would slather on foundation that was five times too light and too sheer for my skin. I was always running around so the makeup melted off anyway. It was not ideal.
I was taught was to hide and to cover my skin so people wouldn't say anything. But no matter how hard I tried, every negative comment and experience felt like the weight of the world. I hated what I looked like and soon I embodied everything that hurt. I believed that I wasn't beautiful and that I never could be. I briefly contemplated suicide around the end of middle school. If I just stopped everything, I wouldn't have to hurt anymore. I could stop my parents from tirelessly trying to find the best medical care for me, since at the time, most dermatologists didn't know what to do with my case. "Maybe I could stop my parents from having to take the emotional abuse. It would be so easy to end my emotional suffering," I thought to myself. [Editor's note: if you or a loved one feels suicidal, find help here.]
I am now 24 years old, and all I can say is that I am grateful I chose otherwise. It was a painfully slow but steady journey to attain self-acceptance. To this day, I feel like I still have a lot to work on. There are days when I'll cry, but I'm only human, and I need to allow myself to feel emotion. Regardless of those bad days, I know that I will always pick myself up and continue on with my life.
Today, I can't help but tell you how much I love my life and how much I am appreciative for my birthmarks. Not only have they given me confidence in my appearance, but they have also given me the strength and drive to pursue my dreams. I grew up with a lot of negativity, but slowly, I learned to stand up against it. I kept telling myself that they were wrong and that what they said meant nothing to me. I began to apply the mindset of "never taking no for an answer" to all aspects of my life.
Being bullied when I was young made me sensitive. I used to hate that I didn't have tough skin but now, I feel fortunate that I don't. My sensitivity allows me to be compassionate towards people who are hurting and it allows me to pick up on subtle hints that they are in pain. My birthmarks also taught me to be positive for myself and for other people around me. There is enough hate in this world and enough people telling us that we can't do something.
I didn't want to add to that, and instead, I chose to have a positive outlook on my life and to lift up the people around me. When I see the people around me reach success, it's a chain reaction for more great things to come. So I can't help but continue to be positive. I can't express the amount of emotional suffering I went through to get to the confidence level I am at now. I came up with things to remind myself when things were especially difficult, and I hope these tips empower you to believe in your worth and your beauty. You have so much to offer in this world! Without further ado:
1. You have to love you.
This was the most difficult, but most important idea to grasp in my journey to accepting myself. My family and friends were always encouraging about my appearance and say that it's what they love about me. It is what makes me different. What I came to realize was that although the support was strong, I could not accept it until I came to accept myself. Strength at its paramount comes from within. People can be strong for you, but it is meaningless until you truly believe you are beautiful. Once you are confident that you are strong, no one can take that away from you.
What is even more important is that once you love yourself, the negative comments you receive become so irrelevant to you that you barely even notice they exist. You can create your reality. If you bottle up those negative comments and make them a part of you, then they will overcome you. But, if you believe that you are strong and beautiful, then that will in and of itself become your reality.
Something I do to feel strong inside and out is that I go to the gym! I love lifting weights and circuit training. I make sure to work out each muscle group throughout the week. I also rarely eat out, because I love to cook healthy. The combinations of both working out and eating clean make me feel great both physically and mentally.
2. When times get tough, get tougher.
There were many situations in which I found myself behind closed doors by myself, crying because I didn't know what I did to garner such negative attention. I would just sit there and feel so bad for myself. It came to a point when I would be sitting in an ocean of used tissues, dizzy from hyperventilating and unable to squeeze any more tears out of my eyes. I realized that life goes on. It's not going to sit and wait for you to feel bad for yourself. There are things out there to be done. Goals to be reached. Empowerment to be gained. Success to be earned. I bit my bottom lip and redirected my energy into the things I felt made my life worth living.
I channeled this energy into becoming a doctor. I had been exposed to dermatology my entire life and have been fortunate to meet some incredible and inspirational physicians who changed me forever. I also have had over 60 major and minor surgeries, so I have also been exposed to the field of plastic surgery. It's something I want to dedicate my life to because I want to help people through what I am currently going through. Because of my birthmarks and the arduous journey with having them, I feel I am able to relate to my patients and lead them to a physically and mentally healthy life.
So, my lesson for you is that you need to take life by the balls and own it. Find something worth being tough about and run with it. The world is yours. You have to choose to take it.
3. Stop trying to hide it - own it!
My mom insisted that I use makeup to cover my skin when I was younger, but now, all I want to do is show the world that I am proud to be me. I tried to use foundation once, but I looked so silly. The coverage was too sheer and the amount I had to use was ridiculous. I honestly didn't feel authentic. If people look, I say let them look! Let them admire your beauty. In a world where people are dying to stand out, we are lucky to already have that trait.
Though I decided to forgo cosmetics for coverage, I still have products to protect my skin from damaging UV rays. My beauty secret is to use a broad-spectrum SPF moisturizer and body lotion. It'll also prevent premature aging, an added bonus. My favorites include: Jergens Natural Glow SPF 20 ($11) for the face and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock ($7 each), SPF 45 and SPF 100 for my body. I encourage everyone, even to those who do not have birthmarks, to use SPF. I love Jergens Natural Glow for its smell and its self-tanning product. Since I can't go out and tan, this my way of getting some color. Neutrogena's Dry Touch line is amazing because it doesn't feel heavy. I've gone through too many greasy sunblocks and am glad to say that this product line definitely does not disappoint.
4. Be compassionate.
The comments that people make must never define you. Sometimes, people will say mean things that will hurt you to the very core. It's an uncomfortable situation, especially if the topic of your appearance is an extremely sensitive subject. It's important to keep in mind that people are curious. Sometimes they are ignorant. If they are mean to you, it is because they still have more to learn about life. They just don't understand how to process your beauty. Continue to be kind, for they are simply naive.
As I get older, less mean things are said to me, but I still get asked about them. I realize that the questions come from curiosity. It's harder to understand this when it's a sensitive topic, but it's important to be compassionate and to not be defensive to those who question. I get asked all the time if I wanted to get them removed and my answer was, is, and will continue to be: no. My birthmarks made me the person I am today. They gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams in more ways than one. They have given me the confidence and grit to continue my goals of being a doctor. They made me compassionate and optimistic.
I want people out there who are going through what I went through to understand that it's OK to be a little insecure sometimes. I want you to know that you are beautiful and that you are loved, even if you can't see it. You don't have to prove your worth to anyone but yourself. You are already great. You have the potential to be even greater and you have it within you to never stop until you reach success. Believe that your differences make you unique. Be confident that they can change your life once you accept them and love them for what they are and who you can be.

Let's Take a Look Back at Queen Máxima's Fairy-Tale Royal Wedding
Fourteen years ago, on Feb. 2, 2002, a Latina became a real-life princess. Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti, an economist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, met then-Prince Alexander-Willem of The Netherlands at the Seville Spring Fair in Spain in 1999, fell in love, and got engaged in a whirlwind relationship that was certainly not without barriers - Máxima's father's connection to the dictatorship that ruled Argentina in the 1970s was cause for controversy and led to his absence at the wedding.
But through thick and thin, from the moment Máxima stepped out of a horse-drawn carriage in a cowl-neck long-sleeved Valentino wedding gown featuring lace details and a 16-foot train, the love between the cutest and happiest royal couple (we're going there; photos prove it) has been palpable in every official appearance and family photo with their three daughters. In honor of the king and queen's anniversary, we're taking a look back at the moment that started it all. Cara Delevingne Piled On the Jewels, but Her Diamond Ring Was Still the Center of Attention
Cara Delevingne has been parading around the world promoting her new film, Suicide Squad, but it was at the world premiere that she really made us stop and stare. The bold model-turned-actress struck a fierce pose in her racy Anthony Vaccarello number, an asymmetrical minidress that hung loosely off her figure and bared a flash of skin at the midriff.
Studded with hardware, the design perfectly complemented a handful of star-shaped rings, but Cara's diamond-shaped sparkler, a rumored engagement gift from St. Vincent, seemed to shine brightest. Maybe we can attribute Cara's glow to her flashy eye makeup or her excitement about the movie that's sure to be wild. But we've got a feeling this stunning look is all the more special thanks to that one incredible jewel Cara can't stop wearing.

8 Savvy Ways to Update Your Wardrobe Without Spending Tons of Money
The following post was originally featured on Nany's Klozet and written by Daniela Ramirez, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.
The best way to start the new year is with a "new" closet. When you clean your closet, you also get rid of old (and bad) energy, and you will feel a big difference. Having an organized closet will help you find your favorite pieces quicker and make getting dressed each morning easier.
Do a Closet Clean-Out
Start by going through everything in your closet and get ready to have five piles: keep, fix, donate, throw away, and sell.
What should you keep?
Ask yourself, have I worn this in the past year? If the answer is no, you are probably not going to wear it ever again. Here's a fun trick to know if you have worn something in the past year: put your hangers backwards every time you do a clean-out. When you wear something, put it back as it should be hung normally. At the end of the year, you can clearly see what you haven't worn in a while.
Then think, why haven't I worn it? Is it damaged? Does it not fit anymore?
If it has a little hole or anything that can be fixable, put it in the fix pile. If not, throw it away. If the items are in good condition but have no significant value, donate them. If you think you can get a little money, sell them!
Forget about sentimental value (unless it's a piece of jewelry your grandmother gave you, of course). This includes that old prom dress you know you are never going to wear again or that cute dress you wore to your first date 10 years ago. Getting rid of them won't delete that amazing memory.
Remember to do a clean-out with your beauty bag, too - makeup has an expiration date, and anything older than a year should be thrown out. Wearing expired makeup can cause breakouts and allergic reactions.
Host a Wardrobe Exchange
Let's say you organized your closet and you realized you have a ton of clothes in mint condition that you never wear. What should you do? Host a wardrobe exchange with your friends.
How?
- Invite a group of close friends and encourage them to invite people as well. You want to keep the group relatively small, but it's a great way to meet and bond with friends.
- Tell them to bring X amount of items. Just be clear about the fact that the pieces must be in perfect condition - clean, no holes, or stains. I recommend bringing a minimum of five pieces.
- Make it fun with appetizers and champagne.
- As soon as the people start arriving, group items by type - dresses, shirts, accessories, etc..
- If you came in with five pieces, you can take five pieces home with you.
The more pieces they bring, the more variety! It's the perfect way to have "new" clothes without spending a dime!
Raid Your Mom's, Sister's, or Aunt's Closet
If you still live with your family, this is easier. However, you can even ask your crazy aunt if you can check out her clothes from the '80s and '90s - I'm sure you can find some amazing things hidden in the bottom of her closet. I did this once with my aunt and she was super excited to see me wearing something from 20 years ago. Also, think outside the box: it doesn't have to be a woman's closet, dare to borrow your dad's shirt or even your boyfriend's jeans.
Find a Tailor You Trust
If you have jeans you used to love but you truly kept that New Year's Resolution to lose weight, and they are too big now; if you want to transform a midi sequin dress into a mini dress, a tailor is your BFF.
Find someone in your city that you trust for all the wardrobe basics, including hemming your pants and making that sexy dress fit like a glove. Then you can ask him/her for a discount when you bring that big ole fix pile. They can transform that dress with the cute print but unflattering neckline.
Shop at Vintage/Thrift Stores
A lot of people underestimate the power of buying in thrift shops or vintage stores. First of all, everything comes back in style. Second, I love thinking that the pieces have a story, that they were carried around when the world was a different place. (Well, that might be just me. I'm a little crazy!) Third, there's a big chance nobody else will own it - vintage pieces are very unique.
I've found amazing items on vintage stores. I found a pair of D&G shoes for $20, a small vintage Coach bag for $15, and silk blouses for $5.
A couple of tips:
- Wash everything as soon as you get home (no bedbugs, please!).
- Go with comfy shoes, because finding those hidden gems isn't that easy. You really have to go through piles and piles of clothes, but it is worth it.
DIY
This is the best way to update your current pieces. I often see clothes on the runway that I think might be fun to DIY. And the best part? Saying you did it yourself when people ask you, where did you get that?
Sell, Sell, Sell
Why not make a little profit from cleaning out your closet? If you have pieces in perfect condition that are valuable, put them up for sale.
Some options:
- Local consignment stores: I personally don't like this option, but if you want to get rid of a lot of things quick, this is a good way to do it. They are going to offer you very little money and they are very picky. I went to one called "Plato's Closet," and they rejected more than half of the things I brought and only offered me $50 for a lot of things
- eBay
- Poshmark: This is my favorite app to sell clothes. It is very easy to use and you can make great money from it. Sign up using the code "HPFVV," and you will get $10 to shop.
Every month I challenge myself, and I try to sell more. The goal: only spend what I have sold.
When Going Shopping, Think "CPU" - Cost Per Use
Last resort . . . go shopping. You deserve it after cleaning, selling, swapping, and raiding.
Never go shopping without knowing what you are looking for, this leads to impulse buying (and most impulse buys end up with their tags on at the end of the closet).
Along the way, maybe you realized you needed a white blouse or a leopard scarf. So write them down. Make a list of the things you really need, and the ones you really want. We all deserve a little treat now and then.
No matter what you buy, always think CPU (cost per use): the cost of the item divided by the amount of times you will use it.
For example, let's say you find a classic LBD at Forever 21 for $30, and you only wear it twice because the fabric lost its stretch when you washed it. The CPU of the affordable dress is $15.
An even better option would be:
You save up a little more and buy an identical classic LBD for $150 that will last 5 years. Let's say you wear it five times per year (and that's nothing because you can even wear an LBD with a denim jacket for a BBQ). The CPU of this dress is $6.
Also, I have a rule that I never buy anything unless I can think of three ways I can wear it. It's all about versatile pieces you can have fun with.

Prepare Yourself to Get INSANELY Frustrated Trying to Spot the Cat in This Photo
When you see it! from pics
Your eyes are in for another treat in this frustrating optical illusion. Somewhere in this photo of piled logs, posted by Reddit user jmankruse, a cat is hidden. Based on the thread's comments, others were also going nuts trying to find the orange feline named Lloyd.
Found it yet? After a few minutes of looking, you'll realize how obvious it is. (Hint: the cat is right in the center.)
If your brain needs some more exercise, try to figure out how many horses are in this painting or check out this other tantalizing optical illusion.

Bella Hadid's Bringing Back the Skirt You Used to Wear With Your Abercrombie Tee
While denim will never go out of style, trends and cuts come and go. But we've got a good feeling about Bella Hadid's distressed skirt. Something tells us the throwback mini, shredded at the hem, and complete with just one button instead of a whole row, is back. While we used to throw on such a design with glittering graphic tees from Abercrombie, or yes, even Limited Too, Bella shows us the perfect way to refresh our old '90s look.
Slip into a cami and accent with matching accessories - the supermodel chose patent leather moto boots and a Givenchy bag - then hit the road. Read on to get inspired by Bella's outfit, then check out how Kim Kardashian recently wore the trend, and shop the skirt that'll fast become your go-to once again.
This Easy Side Braid DIY Is a Sweet Way to Get Hair Out of Your Face
The following post was originally featured on Birdie Shoots and written by Kelly Torrez, who is part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.
Don't let short hair fool you, braids are totally doable. Play up the top portion of your hair with this side braid! I'm the first to admit that braiding takes practice. I've spent many mornings in front of the mirror wanting to pull my hair out or relieve my arm from the exhaustion of attempting to pull my hair back. After trial and error, I've finally found a few braided styles that take but seconds to complete, which is a total lifesaver when it comes to covering up second-day hair.
This particular style happens to be one of them. It's not a full side crown, but it does line the outside face. If you are familiar with a French braid, then this tutorial should be a piece of cake, if not, practice makes perfect.
Justin Timberlake Gets Silly and Serious While Accepting His Teen Choice Decade Award
Justin Timberlake brought his signature charm and sex appeal to the stage at the Teen Choice Awards in LA on Sunday. The "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer was on hand to accept the decade award for his longtime contributions to music and pop culture, which was presented to him by none other than retired NBA star Kobe Bryant (just weeks ago, Justin honored the Los Angeles Lakers legend with an icon award at the ESPYs). During Kobe's introduction, Justin was his usual charismatic self, playing to the camera in his seat and pretending he was about to kiss Key & Peele star Keegan-Michael Key on his way to the stage.
Despite the fact that most of the people in the audience were too young to remember his debut solo hit, "Like I Love You," or even - gasp! - his time in *NSYNC, the crowd was undeniably thrilled to be in the presence of Mr. Sexy Back himself. Clad in a cute sweater, Justin gave some inspirational wisdom to the crowd: "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth," he said. "Be generous. Be kind." Justin was also congratulated on his big win via Twitter by the band's official account, saying, "Congrats @jtimberlake on your Decade #teenchoice Award! Proud of you."

16 Things I've Learned From Living With a 16-Year-Old Girl
This post was originally featured on Totally the Bomb and was written by Jamie Harrington, who is a part of POPSUGAR Select Moms.
It's summer and with kids out of school my niece has come to stay with me for a bit. While I couldn't be more excited, this time together has been a complete crash course in all things teenager. I get that I'm not a full-time parent, but there are still some pretty huge things that have come up even in just this short amount of time, and they are things that I think every parent of a teenager can relate to. Sure, sure, y'all face what I'm facing but with the added responsibility of making sure they also grow into responsible, happy, healthy, well adjusted adults, but since my grocery budget has now almost tripled, I'm going to say I feel at least 'some' of your parental pain. Here are 16 things I've learned by living with my 16-year-old niece…
- Bedtime is fluid.
If she says she's going to bed, that just means she's going to her room. And if I hear her on the phone at 5:00 AM, there's a good chance it's because she stayed up, not because she woke up early.
- Teenagers eat all the time.
All. The. Time.
- It doesn't matter if they're girls, they still eat all the time.
All. The. Time.
- Concepts of nutrition are fluid.
Eating healthy means eating tons of vegetables and fruits, but also Jalapeño Cheetos. And Star Crispies. And Lindt Chocolate.
- Eye rolls are a form of communication…
They can mean everything from, "I don't like what you're saying," to "You made me laugh so hard in my head right now, but I'm way too cool to actually laugh out loud."
- …as is the word 'ungh'.
And this one pops out usually when she needs a second to think about what she wants to say.
- Letting her pick the station in the car will get her to talk.
In between singing about Becky With The Good Hair, these are the times she tells me about her life. And it feels like a privilege to have her open up.
- Her music sucks.
Not all of it, mind, but enough that letting her pick the station is definitely a labor of love.
- Late night slushie runs are essential.
Sometimes she just needs to get out of the house. Better with me than someone I don't know. Also, not all slushies are built the same. Just FYI…
- The concept of dating is fluid.
She doesn't have a boyfriend, but she has boy 'friends' she talks to…in a flirty way. But also a dorky way. So I'm not even a little nervous.
- She needs to hear I Love You a lot…but will pretend to hate it.
I think this is true of every teen.
- I'm a complete dork…
And she's happy to tell me so. But at least it means we're talking, so I'm cool with being a dork.
- …but so is she.
When did kids decide being cool was dumb? IDK, but I like that she lets her dork flag fly.
- Body issues are a fact of life.
And I could comment on the fact that she's wearing long-sleeves in the middle of July in Texas, or I can let her realize in her own time that her arms aren't as hideous as she thinks they are.
- The concept of besties is fluid.
Sometimes they're friends; sometimes they're not. It's a lot like Almond Joy and Mounds in that respect…except that they are always nuts.
- I'm grateful for this time with her.
Every. Single. Day.
Eating more animal protein increases risk of death, plant protein reduces it
Cutting back on carbs and eating more protein can have positive health effects, but not all protein is equal — consuming more red meat, eggs and dairy could shorten your life, while eating more plant-based proteins like beans and nuts could help you live longer, a new study suggests.

Lea Michele Goes Nude and Reveals a Tiny "Finn" Tattoo on Her Butt
Lea Michele graces the cover of Women's Health UK's annual Naked Issue, and it goes without saying that the Scream Queens star looks incredible. Lea posed totally nude for the stunning shots and showed off her many tiny tattoos in the process, one of them the word "Finn" written on her butt in tribute to her late boyfriend Cory Monteith's Glee character, Finn Hudson (for the record, Lea's Glee character, Rachel Berry, also got a Finn tattoo during the show's fifth season, but it was on her upper torso). For the sexy shoot, Lea's only request was to have "music that makes you want to have sex" playing loudly.
The singer and actress wasn't ashamed to take it all off for the cameras. "[Being naked] isn't really an issue for me," she said, unashamedly looking at herself on screen and adding, "That body's banging." She mused about her healthy lifestyle - "I feel physically in my best shape and emotionally in my best place" - and offered up some of her signature words of wisdom: "For me, working out has to be good for my mind too, and when I leave, the endorphins are buzzing, I'm glowing and I feel like I can take on the world."

They are still friends and care about each other, but it's not the right time for them now as a couple." The 2 Broke Girls star and the "You Raise Me Up" singer first went public with their relationship at the Beverly Hills Carousel of Hope Ball back in October 2014. Check out 31 couples who've already split this year.

How to Remove a Tick
Ticks look like this creature – they're tiny black, brown, or reddish eight-legged insects about the size of a pinhead. However, when they attach themselves to your pet, they can swell up several times their original size (ick!). The common tick can transmit fatal illnesses like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Lyme disease, and Summer is the time of year to really check your pet to prevent sickness in your furry friend.
Before heading outdoors there are a few ways you can naturally repel ticks from your pup.
- Ticks dislike the taste and smell of vinegar, so adding a few teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to your pup's drinking water during the Summer helps naturally deter the suckers from attaching to your dog.
- Make your own dog-safe tick repellant with ingredients you already have in your pantry and spritz on your pup before heading out for long hikes.
- Rinse your pup with apple cider vinegar after bathing, which coats his fur with the acidic flavor and naturally repels the nasty bugs. So your furry friend doesn't smell like a pickle factory, spray him with diluted essential oils, such as lemongrass, rosemary, or geranium, which also naturally repel ticks.
- Give your dog regular tick massages, brushing and rubbing his mane in search of ticks.
If you find a tick, don't panic! Here's what to do.
- Safety first so put on latex gloves. It's important to avoid direct contact with the tick and contaminated skin, as diseases can be transmitted from tick to pet to human.
- Place your pet somewhere where you can get a good grip and he stays as comfy as possible. It helps to have another set of hands to hold or distract him.
- Try to ID the head or mouth parts of the tick – you'll want to grasp it with tweezers as close to your pet's skin as possible. If you grasp it by the body, it can get crushed and force harmful bacteria into your pet's bloodstream.
- Pull the tick out using a straight, steady pulling motion. It's important to be slow and gentle so its head will not remain lodged in your pet's skin (which can lead to inflammation and secondary infection).
- Safely dispose of the tick by flushing it down the toilet.
- Apply a pet-safe antiseptic ointment to the bitten area.
- Throw away your gloves and sterilize the tweezers, too.
- Now give your pet a treat – he's been through a lot!
