Take it to see if you can decode what's real and what's not.

This Incredible Corn Maze Might Make Old-School Nintendo Fans a Little Emotional

Posted by Stoughton Farm on Saturday, August 13, 2016

Candy corn, hayrides, corn mazes - these are all the makings of a truly great Fall season. However, one farmer in Newark Valley, NY, is making the last element even greater with a jaw-dropping maze featuring Super Mario's famous characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Yoshi, and Princess Peach.

Tim Stoughton, of Stoughton Farm, selects a corn maze theme every year, starting way back in 2005. He told ABC News, "My wife, Deb, decides the theme. She just liked the idea of the Mario brothers because everybody pretty much knows what they are and it'd be fun for the kids to see."

As one might imagine, actually completing the maze is no easy feat. "It's a lot of math," said Stoughton. "We lay it out into grids and then go in and take the corn out where the pathways should be," he added.

According to a Facebook event started by Stoughton Farm, the maze will be open to the public from Sept. 17 to Oct. 31. Entry is free for anyone under 3 years old. Admission prices are then $6 for children 4 to 9 years old, and $9 for anyone 10 years old and up. There are currently more than 1,000 attendees listed on Facebook, but, the farm usually sees 10,000 visitors per year, so it's not too crazy.

Smoky Gray Ombré Hair Is the "It" Hair Dye to Try for Fall

Two hot hair colors - smoky lilac and gray - have been combined to create Fall's hottest hue: smoky gray ombré. And there are endless unique ways to interpret it - be it a dark-to-light version or vice versa. Keep reading to see more images, and bring one to your stylist if you feel bold enough to rock it!

Harry Potter Fans Will Both Love and HATE This Proposal

Some Harry Potter fans love the books and movies so much that everyone around them also learns all about the franchise - even if they don't like it themselves. It's the predicament one boyfriend found himself in, but he put together a Harry Potter-"themed" proposal anyways.

Posted on Imgur by his now fiancée, hauntlife2590, the gallery of images shows off the strangest Harry Potter proposal yet. It begins with the boyfriend leaving behind a Nerf Gun with a note stating: "Help! I'm trapped in the house surrounded by baddies! Save me with your Hogwarts wand before they Patronus my face hole with their Azkaban wands." If you couldn't tell, the boyfriend knows nothing about Harry Potter. He still put together a sort of Nerf gun obstacle course where his girlfriend needed to "shoot" different characters from the books. Some he let free like Dobby, where he wrote on a printed piece of paper saying, "Your natural inclination might be to fire at this gross little ballsac. But I guess he's a friend. Don't shoot!!!!"

At the end of the Nerf gun hunt, the boyfriend popped out and they had a battle between themselves. Once that was done, he proposed, she said yes, and you can see their entire story below.

Someone Made a Pokémon Go Helmet and It's Hilariously Ridiculous

Simone Giertz makes shitty robots - at least that's what she refers to them as. Her YouTube channel is bursting with hilariously unnecessary (but well-made) machines like a lipstick robot and an oddly aggressive hair washing robot. Recently, Simone debuted a pretty timely creation: a Pokémon Go helmet.

Simone starts off the video by saying, "Pokémon Go isn't just a game, it's a lifestyle." She then straps on the clunky helmet which allows her to play the game hands-free by . . . using her face or tongue. Things progressively get stranger and funnier before Simone ends the video by saying, "Catch it now . . . or, you can't because I only made one. I have no plans to sell this sh*t because this helmet makes me feel stupid."

While it's meant to be impractical and silly, we can't help but imagine some hardcore Pokémon Go trainers resorting to this when their arms get tired. Watch the full demonstration in all its glory above.

The Genius New Tool That Will Change Your Lash Game For Good

There are two kinds of people in this world: those extraordinary humans who can put on false lashes during the elevator ride up to their office, and those whose false-lash application resembles something of a surgical procedure meets arts and crafts project. I, along with the majority of the world's population, am part of the latter.

Good news: the launch of a first-of-its-kind genius new beauty tool is about to change the false-lash game in a major way. The product is called Flirt Flashes Lash Applicator (available Sept. 15 at flirtcosmetics.com, $22), and it is a faux lash dispenser-and-applicator device that allows you to more seamlessly apply strands at home. Thanks to this game-changing innovation, falsies are just a few clicks away.

"It's like a staple gun with a cartridge full of lashes," said Estée Lauder Executive Group President John Dempsey. But if you ask me, it's not nearly as scary. The device looks strangely similar to a Wite-Out tape dispenser but instead it delivers impressive faux lashes in the blink of a (perfectly glammed) eye. "Women are always complaining about difficulty putting on lashes, so we are solving that problem for good," adds Dempsey.

Here's how it works: the palm-sized dispenser houses 44 sets of lashes (each set includes three individual lashes bound together on a thin strip). You wind the scroll until a set of three lashes rises from the cartridge and appears just beyond the top of the applicator. Click the front button to lock the strip in place so it remains steady as you apply lash glue (which, FYI, you'll need to supply yourself). Allow the glue to dry for 10-15 seconds until it's tacky. This gives you extra grip and hold once the falsies are applied.

The actual application is especially easy, thanks to the curved design of the tool. This positions it perfectly along the lash line and ensures your elbow isn't in an awkward position. Once in line, you click the larger release button to press and secure the strip in place along your lash line. If you want to add another strip of lashes (remember they only have three individual lashes on each), just wind the scroll and the cartridge will raise a new one to the top. From here, you can repeat the quick process until your lashes are as full and flared as your heart desires.

In case that still sounds a bit complicated (which it absolutely did the first time I heard it, too), know you can get help. The device is enabled with near field communications (NFC) technology, which allows you to tap or wave your phone over the product in order to automatically signal it to load instructive tutorials. It typically takes one or two practice rounds to use the tool right. And though I am false-lash challenged, it actually only took me three minutes to master the process.

The brand behind the genius new tool is Flirt Cosmetics (Estée Lauder Companies), and if you were born before 1990, you might recognize the name as the label had a former life on the shelves of Kohl's and, at one point even, Bergdorf Goodman back in the early 2000s.

But don't be fooled, this is not a relaunch. "It's an entirely new millennial-focused brand with a unique direction," Dempsey explained. The creative minds bringing Flirt back to life (and to your Instagram feeds) are an impressive digital influencer duo. Designer Donald Robertson (coined by many the modern-day Andy Warhol), who illustrated the fun, provocative packaging. While Amber Rose - the badass, unapologetically real social media master - stars in the premiere campaign.

"We are bridging the gap between beauty and social media by launching an online brand, powered solely by social influence," said Dempsey. "These influencers, like Donald and Amber, are the new celebrities, and we are retargeting our focus to make the biggest impact on this new modern-day woman."

In an attempt to create the next viral social beauty buzz, the direction for the brand was simple. "Make it freaky, make it fun, make it good," said Robertson. And they pretty much nailed it, if you ask me.

Get excited for more groundbreaking newness from Flirt. The brand plans to roll out a series of star products aimed to start serious beauty buzz on your social feed.

Free People Slammed For Selling Colorful Dreadlock Extensions Online

Free People is in hot water for an (all-too-common) example of cultural appropriation. The millennial clothing chain added pink and tie-dye faux dreadlocks to its e-commerce site for $128. The product description reads: "Add a little something extra to your 'do with these colorful dreadlock extensions featuring wood, bead, and flower accents."

Dreadlocks have dated back thousands of years. The historically matted hairstyle (typically worn by black men and women) has also been commonly associated with a variety of negative stigmas and stereotypes. Remember when E! Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic commented that Zendaya's faux locks likely "smells like patchouli or weed" at the 2015 Oscars?

Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Giuliana's comments is just one example of the criticism related to the style. Some men and women who wear 'locks are also often associated with uncleanliness and unprofessionalism in the workplace and in their daily lives.

Twitter users got wind of the colorful faux 'lock extensions and slammed the site for taking the common black hairstyle, showcasing it on white models, and attempting to make it just another passing beauty fad. Some users urged Free People to remove the offensive product from its website, and others expressed genuine confusion about its exploitation of the style. Scroll through to see what they had to say.

The Creator of NARS Exclusively Chats Makeup Trends and Breaking Rules

NARS makeup is everywhere, from Blake Lively's face to Sephora's many shelves. Its elusive French creator, Francois Nars? Not so much. That's because unlike today's makeup mavens (like Kylie Jenner and Instagram's most viral), the Tahitian resident stays firmly behind the scenes, painting faces backstage at Marc Jacobs while creative directing his beauty brand.

But Monsieur Nars is about to pull back the curtain with his new eponymous book called Francois Nars, out Sept. 6. It boasts 434 pages of vision boards, behind-the-scenes model Polaroids, fashion shoot outtakes, and even career advice. You can pre-order it on Amazon now, and keep reading for his candid thoughts on the beauty industry, the best celebrities to have in the makeup chair, and what he really thinks of YouTube tutorials.

Spoiler alert: He contours, too.

POPSUGAR: Mercury will be in retrograde when your book comes out. Are you worried? Do you believe in that stuff?

Francois Nars: Ehhh . . . I do and I don't. I do, yes, but you have to go through it. I mean I'm not going to stop doing jobs or cancel my travel plans just because the planets aren't aligned the right way. I know some people do change their lives around it - they'll decide not to travel or do any deals, but I'll never do that. Maybe that's why I've done some bad deals, who knows! [Laughing.]

PS: Do you pack more correcting products in your makeup kit during retrograde phases?

FN: Yeah, maybe more concealer. Maybe more makeup remover. Or maybe you just go with it and adopt a messier look. What are you going to do, other than go with the flow?

PS: But you don't always go with the flow! Your career took off because you were applying makeup with a very different technique, right?

FN: That's true. The very first time I went to a photo studio in Paris, they noticed me because I had a much lighter hand than other makeup artists. I used less product, and I think right away, in the industry at that time, [trends] went faster than ever. They looked at me and said, "My god, this guy is doing something different." I made the girl look fresher than what was going on at the time. I guess it was groundbreaking. It was definitely a rebellion.

I was very shy, but I believed in what I was doing.

PS: It's so funny to think of barely-there makeup as a rebellion.

FN: It's strange because I was so attracted by the very hard edge of ['80s] fashion photos. Those images pushed me to become a makeup artist. But when I finally became one, I went the opposite way than those photographs I loved so much growing up. The influence of my mom was very strong. She was not a Guy Bourdin kind of woman. She was more of a Hans Feurer woman - a little tan sometimes, glowing skin, but not really into sculpted, heavy makeup.

PS: Did her aesthetic make you want to change the makeup game?

FN: It did. I went that way first to make a statement in the fashion and makeup industry - that you don't need a mask of makeup. But my taste in the hard-edged images came back no matter what, so I started mixing. And I think that mix had a fresher approach. Even if I was doing a strong red lip, the skin would be lighter and more transparent. That made a big statement. Even when I was working with Irving Penn and [Richard] Avedon, my touch was lighter.

Nobody can tell you what to do or not do with makeup. So you have to trust your sixth sense about knowing what works.

PS: What made you brave enough to try something different, even when you were surrounded by the biggest legends in the business?

FN: The secret is if you believe in yourself. I was very shy, but I believed in what I was doing. You can be shy, you can be very discreet, but if you believe in what you do and the way you do it, then you have the guts and the balls to do it, and to follow through. Even if you're working with Richard Avedon, you know at the end that your work will stand out and look great. No matter what, it needs to look great. You can't break rules and then have the final look be bad! So you'd better be confident enough to know that if you break the rules, you're going to make it work. Otherwise, you're cooked.

PS: OK, but how do you know if your makeup works?

FN: The answer is, it's an instinct you have. It's something you either feel or don't feel. There isn't a written book, "this works, this doesn't work." I mean, there are books, but they're not true. Nobody can tell you what to do or not do with makeup. So you have to trust your sixth sense about knowing what works and doesn't work. At the end, you're the woman who should know what looks good on you.

PS: But your runway looks are sometimes so extreme. They aren't meant to look necessarily "good" on anyone.

FN: But the runway is the perfect lab to break rules. You can show the world different visions of beauty through a designer's clothes.

PS: Even if you can't wear it in real life?

FN: [Laughing] Makeup artists don't care about that! That's not important! Your runway, as a working woman, as a fun girl, as you, it can be anywhere you want. Your runway is real life. The runway, it's not about saying, "Is this possible for women?" Who gives a damn?! I don't care. I'm doing something first of all to please a designer. Are his clothes wearable by everybody? Probably not. Does he care? Definitely not . . . but when you do Marc's show, for example, the vision is not about pleasing people. We don't say, "Oh my god, is it possible for Madame to wear this makeup to the office?" That's not our purpose. We just do a vision that we have - like an artist painting something - and then hopefully there are always elements that you can grab in "real life."

PS: What do you think of YouTube? Do you think the video beauty tutorials are "real life"?

FN: Oh, it's outrageous. I think the tutorials are insane. Watching people apply contour is amazing. We used to do that to Naomi [Campbell] 20 years ago, but that was something that only professionals knew how to do. It's not easy. So when I watch YouTube, I always ask, "Is this person a makeup artist?" Because it's very hard to do. It can go wrong very easily. And some of them absolutely look like they know what they're doing.

PS: Wait, you think YouTubers really are beauty experts?

FN: I think they know how to create a look. But a lot of those looks are only for red carpet or for selfies. The makeup you see on the internet is so heavy! If you want to walk in the street like that, I mean . . . in daylight, it could look quite scary.

The freedom is what's big today. It would be very sad if everyone looked the same.

PS: Do you know about strobing? Where you add light to the face?

FN: Strobing? Are you serious? I love the name. Do they call it "hashtag strobing?" Okay. We've done that for 20 years or more - strobing, I mean, not hashtags. You just highlight your cheekbones. You know Marilyn Monroe used to do that herself, and she learned from her makeup artists. She put light on her chin you can always see it on camera. "Strobing," huh? Funny.

PS: Matte lips are having a moment. Can we declare them dead for Fall? Long live gloss?

FN: Oh, I like both of them. Matte, glossy, whatever. Some people look better glossy and some look better matte, especially red. And today everything is possible. There isn't just one fashion. The matte lipstick is big right now, and when it's red it looks like velvet. Beautiful. I don't think anyone should only wear one thing now, at least not for a long time. Even on TV, the girls have a matte lip, then a gloss. The freedom is what's big today. It would be very sad if everyone looked the same.

PS: You've worked with more celebrities than most Oscar winners. Who are your favorite actresses in the makeup chair?

FN: One is Tilda Swinton, always. And then I just worked with Sarah Paulson. I adore her. She can be definitely transformed into anything. I took some fantastic pictures of her. I mean, to die. You're going to love it when you see her. She's got one of those faces. That's why on American Horror Story she's so different each season. She's a fabulous actress and deserves so much more than what she gets. You know, and so many people in Hollywood get so much and they don't deserve it? She's the opposite. She is the next big star.

PS: Really?

FN: Sure. Until someone starts "strobing" on the internet, I guess. [Laughing.]

10 Commandments of Working Out

It doesn't matter if you do one workout a week or one workout a day - if you exercise at all, follow these 10 essential rules in order to get strong and lose weight effectively, prevent injury, and love working out enough to stick with it.

1. Thou Shalt Enjoy Working Out

If the exercise you're doing isn't fun or you cringe whenever you think about HAVING to do it, that workout is as good as skipped. Sweating it out shouldn't feel like a chore, so find workouts that inspire you, that you can't wait to go to, and that make you feel good about yourself.

2. Thou Shalt Work Hard

A typical workout is only 30 to 60 minutes out of your day (plus extra time for getting ready and travel), so get the most out of this short time by giving it 100 percent. Push yourself, get your heart rate up, and get sweaty. After an intense workout, you shouldn't still look cute.

3. Thou Shalt Do Cardio

Heart-pumping cardio not only keeps your cardiovascular system in tip-top shape, but it's also essential for building endurance and burning major calories. For overall health, make vigorous cardio a part of your weekly workout schedule for 20 minutes a day, three times a week - up it to 60 minutes a day, five days a week, if you're trying to lose weight.

4. Thou Shalt Strength Train

Strengthening your muscles makes them look toned and defined, and for a double bonus, having more muscle means your body is burning more calories. Include strength training sessions three times a week; focus on targeting all the major parts of the body. Bodyweight exercises are great for overall strengthening, but if you want to build muscles faster, you'll want to use weights. Keep in mind that lifting heavier weights will help you lose weight faster.

5. Thou Shalt Stretch

To prevent injury and keep your muscles supple, always stretch after your cardio and strength training workouts. It doesn't take much time, just 10 minutes will do it. Or commit to yoga sessions two to three times a week to not only keep your muscles loose, but to calm and clear your mind as well.

6. Thou Shalt Mix Up Thy Workouts

Think your brain gets bored going for a run every day? Your muscles do too, which means you're more prone to reach a plateau. Be sure to vary your workouts, doing different kinds of cardio, a mix of strength training moves, and trying new types of workouts at least once a month. It's a great way to challenge your muscles and also prevent overuse injuries.

7. Thou Shalt Nourish Thy Body Before and After Workouts

Your body needs protein, carbs, and healthy fats, so be sure to fuel up before and after your workouts with fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean proteins, nuts, seeds, and don't forget the water! If you're putting in the time to shape your body, eating clean is the best way to build muscle, lose excess fat, and have the energy to keep up with your workouts.

8. Thou Shalt Schedule Workouts

Workouts don't just happen when you have time - you have to make the time. Find what works for you whether it's exercising out at the exact same time of day, pre-signing up for classes, paying a fitness trainer, or planning workouts with friends to keep each other accountable. Take some time Sunday to schedule out the week and write it down in your planner so you know it's as important as any other meeting you schedule. Go the extra mile by doing laundry, packing your gym bag, and getting together any gear you might need like headphones or equipment for home workouts. Planning ahead makes it more likely to happen.

9. Thou Shalt Set Goals And Celebrate Them in Healthy Ways

You set out to go to the gym five days this week, and you nailed it! Now don't undo all your hard work with a celebratory burger, fries, and margarita. Try to avoid food as a reward, and choose something that will help you continue on your healthy path like a new pair of capris, download new tunes or an audio book to listen to on your next run, or buy a new blender for smoothies.

10. Thou Shalt Rest

Rest days are just as essential as workout days. Two days out of the week should be devoted to resting, which doesn't have to mean sitting on the couch watching a Netflix marathon (although those are essential at times too). Your rest days can be active, meaning going for a leisurely walk or hike, a casual bike ride, or a relaxing yoga class. Resting not only allows time for your muscles to heal and rebuild so they get stronger, but mentally taking a break will leave you hungry and ready for your next workout.

Everything We Know About Jason Momoa's Standalone Aquaman Movie

If Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice didn't turn out to be your jam, don't worry. There's a new superhero coming to the big screen, and we're already in love with him - and his late, great chest hair. Jason Momoa is taking on the title role in Aquaman, his standalone DC Comics movie. We already have a few pictures of him on the set of Justice League, but Aquaman is even further down the line. Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd's Romance Is as Sexy as Their Dance Moves

When it comes to relationships, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are pretty much pros. Over the years, the two have become quite the fan-favorite couple among Dancing With the Stars viewers, and their love story is a big reason why. The two first met in 2009 when they costarred in the Broadway production of Burn the Floor, but things didn't heat up until years later when they started dating in 2012. Although they split ten months later, they eventually rekindled their romance in 2015.

Aside from getting engaged last December, the two also have a baby boy on the way - which Peta has been perfectly documenting on social media. See all of their cutest (and hottest) moments together.

A Woman Is Using Crochet to Surprise Pokémon Go Trainers and It's the Best Thing Ever

As a self-described "crafty geek," Nichole is a pretty remarkable knitter who's using her skills to cheer up Pokémon Go players who are over seeing Zubat everywhere. She is knitting real-life re-creations of Pokémon characters and stashing them in various cities just outside of Dallas, TX.

So far, Nichole - or KnottyNichole on Instagram - has hidden several favorites, from Snorlax to Jigglypuff to the Pokéball! Based on her Instagram captions, it looks like she typically divulges the characters' locations soon after hiding them, either on the photo app or Facebook. That might change, though, considering her Facebook page has more than 26,000 followers and her Instagram has 820 followers - accounts that are bound to continue increasing in popularity. She also shares the patterns she uses to make the characters on Ravelry, so Pokémon enthusiasts who don't live in Texas can hop on the trend too.

Ahead, we've rounded up some of Nichole's crocheted creations, as well as a photo shared by someone who found Pikachu out in the wild and sweetly gifted it to her niece.

If You Try Not to Smile While Watching Chris Evan Do Push-Ups With His Dog, You'll Break Your Face

Chris Evans is just the latest celebrity to take part in the #22PushUpChallenge to help raise awareness about the high suicide rate that exists among veterans (22 suicides per day), and we have to say, his video is definitely the cutest so far. The handsome actor, who is currently dating Jenny Slate, took to Twitter on Monday to share a video of himself doing the challenge along with the message, "Thank you to all the men and women who serve this country." But while Chris doing push-ups is enough to distract almost anyone, it's his dog, Dodger, that really steals the show. As Chris gets on the floor to start the challenge, Dodger refuses to stop playing, licking the actor's ear and playfully biting his wrist in an attempt to get him to stop. Chris then laughs and jokes, "I haven't worked out in a while." Check out the severe cuteness in the video above, then watch Anna Faris and Chris Pratt tackle the challenge as well as a shirtless Scott Eastwood.

11 Bra Tops You Can Keep Wearing Until the End of Summer

On insanely hot days, we're conflicted between wearing as little as possible and remaining semi-modest. Sure, we could pull a Gigi Hadid and just wear a lacy lingerie set or even go braless for comfort like Kendall Jenner did, but we prefer a little something in the middle, a cross between a bra and a crop top. This style isn't just sexy, but also provides coverage for big- and small-breasted ladies alike. The straps give you support while the deep cut reveals just enough skin.

When Kendall wore her sexy version for a night on the town, it made us want to do the same. We're now rethinking our own attire for a girls' night out, especially when there's a range of similar affordable bra tops out there. This is as close to leaving the house in your bra as you can get while still appearing like a street style star - just shop the options ahead.

A 6-Month-Old Was Found Dead After Spending 9 Hours in a Hot Car in a Walmart Parking Lot

As the temperatures rise so do the number of deaths related to children being left in hot cars. Despite parents knowing the danger, this mistake has cost 27 babies, toddlers, and children their lives this year alone.

In the most recent case, witnesses flagged down officers in a Texas parking lot after a father returned to his car and found his 6-month-old son dead.

The unnamed dad is a Walmart employee, and according to the Helotes Police Department, he arrived at work around 6:15 a.m. The temperatures were in the low 100s when the dad found his dead son still in the vehicle at 3:12 p.m.

According to Helotes Police Captain Anthony Burgess, the father told officers that he forgot to drop the infant off at day care before going to work. Burgess said that emergency responders weren't able to save the baby and witnesses described the father becoming hysterical in the parking lot. The dad was then hospitalized after complaining of chest pains.

The 1 Food That Cured My Digestive Woes

In college, my stomach turned against me. Every day I suffered from an uncomfortable, bloated feeling, and I never knew if I was going to be constipated or, equally as bad, going to have to stay near a bathroom. My doctor sent me to a gastroenterologist, who ran a test for celiac, which came back negative. I saw a naturopath who told me - a vegetarian since 13 - to start eating meat (um, thanks, but no). Eventually I was diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowl syndrome), but no one had any solid advice for how to deal.

Because all my friends were nature-loving vegans (and I was clearly lactose intolerant), I decided to go vegan, which helped, as did giving up gluten. I was a gluten-free vegan for six years, but because I wasn't eating enough protein and was downing tons of gluten-free junk, I gained a bunch of weight. So I went back to eating dairy, eggs, and gluten, and since I was eating a much healthier diet than my french-fry-loving vegan college days, I surprisingly felt almost 100 percent.

Fast-forward to July 2014. After watching the documentary Vegucated, I remembered the reasons why I went vegan so many years ago, and I gave up dairy on the spot. At first, my digestion improved, but then a few weeks later, those same symptoms came back, and this time it was even worse. I took a mental note of how my diet had changed and realized that when I was eating dairy, I ate Greek yogurt as a daily morning ritual. So I started eating soy yogurt and boom! - I felt amazing within two days. I was in shock. Probiotics were the cure I needed all along!

Nutritionist Willow Jarosh, RD, of C&J Nutrition explains that probiotics are good-for-you bacteria that live in our bodies, and more and more research is showing their benefit to general health, skin, weight control, and mood. "Certain strains of probiotics are especially gut-friendly, helping to reduce IBS-related symptoms like bloating, constipation, and diarrhea," she explains. Willow suggests taking a supplement or eating a food that has probiotics to help build up the numbers of good bacteria, so they can edge out the bad bacteria that could be detrimental to our health and cause unwanted symptoms.

If you're dealing with tummy troubles, it's worth going the probiotic route, and yogurt is an inexpensive healthy choice. I eat one six-ounce container of soy yogurt (with some fiber-full berries, also great for the digestive tract) at least every other day, and my digestion has never been better. If you're not a fan of soy and still want to avoid any digestive issues that come with eating dairy, try yogurt made from almond milk or coconut milk.

Look Back at Heidi Klum's Outrageous Halloween Costume Tradition

Halloween just wouldn't be the same without Heidi Klum's over-the-top annual bash, which she's hosted in both New York and Los Angeles. The location and the date (in 2012, she rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy) may have changed over the years, but one thing we can always count on is Heidi showing up in an extravagant costume. 2015 was no different as she celebrated at Lavo in NYC, dressed like cartoon character Jessica Rabbit. In years past, she's made appearances as a mouse, a gorilla, and a seriously convincing old lady, and she's gotten decked out in outrageous getups that can't really be explained. Scroll through to see all of Heidi's wild wardrobe choices for the holiday!

NASA Just Discovered 1 of the Biggest Black Holes Ever - See the Incredible GIFs

NASA's Hubble Space Telescope recently discovered one of the most massive black holes ever. Don't fret, though - it's nowhere near us so it won't be sucking you or me into its depths.

Located in Galaxy NGC 4889, which is around 300 million light years away, this black hole is 21 billion times larger than the sun. The black hole's event horizon, which the Hubble Space Telescope website defines as "the surface at which even light cannot escape its gravitational grasp," has a diameter of 130 billion kilometers.

Let's put those numbers into perspective, shall we? In our galaxy, the Milky Way's largest black hole is only 4 million times the mass of the sun, according to the Hubble Space Telescope website - meaning it doesn't come anywhere close to the one in Galaxy NGC 4889.

This black hole is also currently taking a pretty well-deserved nap. It's dormant as of now and it remains unclear when exactly it will come alive again. When it was active, an accretion disc constantly fed the black hole space items like gas and dust to give it immense energy. Yum.

Check out photos, GIFs, and videos of the black hole ahead. Take note these aren't exact photos of the black hole, since its event horizon prevents any light from escaping. These are, however, photos and videos that reveal the area in which the black hole lives. By observing how fast stars were moving (the velocity) in this area, astronomers were able to determine the very existence of the black hole. Get ready to be amazed and then check out equally incredible GIFs of Saturn and black holes merging.

How to Enforce Cell Phone Etiquette With Your Kids' Friends

As kids get older, the play date dynamics only get more complicated. Thanks to the growing smartphone and technology addiction among children, there's a new element to be considered when your kids' friends come over. They're most likely bringing with them at least one screen (whether it's a cell phone, tablet, laptop, or all of them!) and just because you have rules and etiquette that you enforce in your home doesn't mean other families are raising their kids with the same guidelines. Instead of making other children feel uncomfortable when they come over to, say, a zero-tolerance cell phone policy, try these tips for successfully curbing the screen time while friends are at your house to play.

  1. Consider the reasoning first: Just because a child is coming into your home doesn't mean that you can ignore the expectations between that kid and his or her parents. There's a good chance that your kid's buddy always has his phone out because his parents enforce a strict "you always answer when we call or text" policy. Instead of making the child feel like they are doing something wrong, ask some questions that establish if they need to stay in contact with their parents.
  2. Timing is key: Don't wait to address your technology-free preference until your child's friend is already over and innocently catching Pokémon. If you bring up the phone issue once the children are already engaging with their devices, you'll make them feel like they're in trouble for doing something wrong without knowing they were breaking any rule. Instead, address it early but in a relaxed manner that focuses on "we" phrases ("we are going to spend the afternoon with our phones off!") instead of "you." This will help make it feel like a comfortable dialogue instead of them feeling singled out with a harsh mandate.
  3. Unplug yourself: Kids look to you as a guide for what's acceptable. If you're trying to encourage quality time away from screens, it sends a mixed message if you're completely glued to your computer.
  4. Have alternatives: When in doubt, have backup activities prepared that don't involve screens, including TVs and video games. These days, their world seems to revolve around WiFi, so you might be in for some blank stares over what to do now. From wow-worthy indoor crafts to engaging outdoor adventures, always have two to three all-ages options at the ready to keep them occupied.
  5. Let their parents do the disciplining: Don't shame the child if he or she disregards your request for a non-cell-phone-dominated get-together. As annoying as it may be that the kid isn't following your rules, they aren't doing anything dangerous, and in that case, it isn't your responsibility to discipline another parent's child. Instead, mention to the parent that you're trying a new cell-phone-free play date policy. Bring it up after the fact if things didn't go according to plan and leave the rest up to them.
  6. Make it about you, not them: If you do have to intervene, ensure that everyone understands it wasn't because you think the kid was being inappropriate or rude with his or her device. If you frame it as something your family is trying out because you want to get your kids away from technology and focused on friendships, you're likely to get a much less defensive reaction and maybe even full-fledged support!

A Smoothie-Making Tip That Will Save You Time and Money

You buy an enormous bag of greens with the best intentions of making a nutritious smoothie every morning, but by day two, the fire under your smoothie obsession starts to fizzle out. And when you finally go to pull out that container a few days later, your heart sinks a little when you find yet another bag of wilted, slimy spinach. Here's a simple solution for preserving those greens: freeze them instead.

Freezing your greens will save you the heartache of throwing out spoiled produce, and you can buy in bulk, which is much cheaper than picking up small containers. It'll also save you time if you buy your greens like curly kale or swiss chard in bunches, since you can do all the prep work ahead of time. And since smoothie-making is now that much faster and easier, you're more likely to make one instead of pouring a bowl of sugary cereal. Any type of greens will freeze well, so whether you prefer spinach, kale, chard, beet greens, arugula, or a combination, your green smoothies are practically made after these simple steps.

Bag It

Since some greens like spinach can pull apart pretty easily once frozen, you could throw the whole bag in the freezer. But if you're worried about whether it's safe to freeze those produce bags, you're better off using pint-sized freezer bags and freezing individual servings. It'll save you space in the freezer, since it's easier to stack these small bags, and you can also reuse them. If you're buying bunches of kale and spinach, then wash and chop them before placing one- to two-cup servings in each freezer bag.

Cube It

Pick up some BPA-free ice cube trays or baby food trays - I like the ones with lockable lids, so the trays can be stacked - and buy a variety of greens. You can puree them separately in a food processor or blender or puree them together, adding a little water to yield a smooth consistency. Pour into the little wells, attach the lids, and freeze them. Once the cubes are frozen, you can leave them in the trays or pop them out into gallon-sized freezer bags. When you're ready to make your smoothie, just grab a few and throw them in your blender - it's a great time saver. Just for reference, a packed NutriBullet (about four firmly packed cups) of kale with 1/3 cup water makes 12 one-ounce ice cubes, so if you want to add one cup of kale to your smoothie, then use three ice cubes. Aside from smoothies, here are some other ways you can use your frozen greens.

16 Celeb Moms Who've Shared Their Breastfeeding Photos

Think the breastfeeding selfie trend is just a thing for your Instagram friends to share with each other? Not quite! While the women in your new-moms class are sharing pics of themselves and their nursing tots with family and friends, celebrity moms are sharing theirs with millions of fans around the world. While some say they are sharing the images to show something "natural and beautiful," others are doing it to show their political views.

Pink is the latest celebrity mom to show herself doing the deed with her daughter, Willow Sage - though it isn't the first time. Sharing a sweet photo to Instagram of her and Willow in honor of World Breastfeeding Week, the singer told her followers "I proudly post this photo of a very HEALTHY, NATURAL act between mother and child."

Read on to see who else has shared their breastfeeding photos with their fans.

What The Walking Dead Cast and Producers Have Revealed About Season 7

We've got a fever, and the only known antidote is fresh episodes of The Walking Dead. Unfortunately, we have to wait until October for those, so for now we have to settle for hints that the actors and producers have given us. Because we don't know who dies in the finale (or do we?), most of the actors have been very tight-lipped about what to expect on season seven, but Jeffrey Dean Morgan (aka Negan), Andrew Lincoln (Rick, who we basically know doesn't die), and Norman Reedus have been giving some very telling interviews. We already rounded up everything they've said about Negan's upcoming story arc, but here's what you need to know about what's up with the new season in general - apart from all the details we already have.

How to Get Your Pet Microchipped

Today is Check the Chip Day, which means if you haven't already microchipped your pet, now is a great time to do so. The American Kennel Club's pet-recovery service, AKC Reunite, has helped bring more than 475,000 pets home because of their microchips, and the best tip it can offer to pet owners is to always be sure your information linked to your pet's chip is up to date. According to research, only 58 percent of pets with chips have the correct information saved in the system.

Microchipping your pet is an easy two-step process, described below by AKC Reunite.

  • Step 1: Have the microchip, which is about the size of a grain of rice, implanted by your vet between the cat's or dog's shoulder blades. The implantation is quick and no more painful than having a shot.
  • Step 2: Enroll your pet's microchip with a recovery service. This will link the ID number on your pet's chip to your contact information. If you don't enroll the chip, having it scanned if your pet gets lost will render it useless. The chip has to be linked to contact information in order to reunited you and your pet!

It really is that easy to help prevent your pet from getting lost forever. Just make sure to always keep your information up to date on your pet's account if you move or change your phone number.

  2. A new iPad Pro size: In addition to keeping the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro, Apple intends on announcing a 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
  3. Reduction in price: The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will reportedly come as a "low cost" model.

Laurie's dizzying routine, featuring difficult tumbling passes and a gorgeous dismount on a 4-inch surface area, earned her a coveted silver medal spot on the podium beside her fierce competitors, including teammate Simone Biles, who, after a fall, took home bronze, and the Netherland's Sanne Wevers, who won gold. Toddlers hate waiting. Waiting in lines, waiting to be served food at a restaurant, waiting in their car seat to reach a destination . . . they make it known that they hate it. Instead of subjecting yourself to the whines and cries of your little one, make sure you're always prepared with a bag of tricks - or a "busy bag," if you will - stuffed with games and activities to keep even the toddler with the shortest attention span busy for a while*.

Read through to see some of our favorite activities and games for toddlers on the go.

  1. Sticker books
  2. Play-Doh

  5. Boogie Board LCD drawing pad
  6. Coloring books.
  7. Magnatiles magnetic construction tiles

  9. Busy Bag Games: all of these games can be transported easily in pencil cases or plastic Ziploc bags:

    • Letter popsicle sticks: Write out capital and lowercase letters on popsicle sticks (one per stick) and have your child match the capital letter stick to the lowercase stick.
    • Wipe box guessing game: Put a bunch of small objects in an empty wipes container and tell your toddler to put their hand in and guess what they're about to pull out.
    • Finger paint in a bag: Put paint in one Ziploc, then place zip side down into another Ziploc to allow them to "paint on the table."
    • Color matching: Grab a bunch of paint chips from the hardware store in different shades of the same colors and have your child stack up the cards that are variants of the same color.
    • Easter egg letters: Write a lowercase letter on the bottom of a plastic egg and a capital on the top, then give them to your child in halves so they can match the lowercase to the capital.
    • Lego stacking: Pack up a bunch of big Lego blocks into a baggie to be stacked by color or to stack to certain numbers.
  10. Snacks (because when all else fails, food reigns supreme)

*We really hope this works out for you, but we know that toddlers are the most unpredictable. If all else fails, including the snacks, there's always the iPad?

Apple Might Finally Give Us What We've Been Waiting For: a Waterproof iPhone

As rumors continue to circulate about Apple's iPhone 7, which has an expected release date of Sept. 7, one leak is emerging that might actually come true. The blog Patently Apple recently discovered that Apple acquired a patent for color-correcting technology in underwater photos - meaning the phone itself would have to be waterproof . . . right?

This news seems long overdue as many smartphones, like Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, are already waterproof or, at the very least, splash-resistant. It also makes sense considering another rumor stating the iPhone 7 won't have a headphone jack - removing the possibility for water damage to occur.

According to Patently Apple, the patent was originally filed in late 2013, but was just published this August. The blog states that Apple's invention edits photos taken under water to remove "undesirable tints from objects in the scene." So not only will we soon be able to (hopefully) hop in the pool with our phones, but our subsequent photos will come out looking Instagram-ready.

It is worth noting, however, that not all of Apple's patents end up actually coming to fruition. For example, they filed a patent for a curved, wrap-around display screen in 2011 that still hasn't been introduced. So unfortunately, this rumor can neither be confirmed nor debunked until the phone is released.

Taraji P. Henson Serves So Much Math Nerd Realness in Hidden Figures

With so many true stories hitting theaters in 2016, it's not hard to see why Hidden Figures has joined the fold. Billed as a new and "untold" tale, the film stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae as Katherine G. Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, three brilliant women who worked at NASA during a crucial moment in history. The group helps to achieve one of the nation's biggest accomplishments: launching John Glenn into orbit. Now we've got the full trailer, a new poster, and plenty of excitement to carry us through to 2017.

The 1 Thing I Learned in Italy That Changed the Way I Cook

I thought I knew how to cook Italian food . . . until I went to Italy. I got the amazing opportunity to travel to Tuscany to stay at Casa Buitoni, home of Buitoni, the fresh-pasta brand you've likely seen in the refrigerated section at the grocery store. I was in good company with chefs who develop authentic recipes for the nearly 200-year-old brand (it was founded by the Buitoni family in 1827), so I think they know a thing or two about Italian food. After a week of making pasta from scratch, visiting wineries and restaurants among the rolling hills of Tuscany, and eating too many incredible meals to count made by chefs born and raised in Italy, I learned an invaluable lesson that really stuck with me and will change the way I cook for myself from now on.

Simplicity is key, and less is more.

The mentality that surrounds food in Italy is unlike everything typical about food in the US. Italians eat slowly. They savor every single bite and every single moment at the table - "family style" means more than just passing around a plate of food for everyone to try. A young woman who grew up in Italy told me her family never served a meal without setting the table, complete with a white tablecloth. And yes, of course I realize that setting up a gorgeous tablescape with a movie-worthy view is not something most people have the privilege of re-creating at home, but what we can (and should) copy is the overall idea. Eating is a time to unplug from the rest of the world and to connect with the food and the people right in front of you.

And most importantly, authentic Italian cooks let the ingredients shine. If you start with the best quality ingredients you can find, you only need a few to make an amazing dish. I'll be the first to admit that using restraint in the kitchen is not my strong suit. My favorite pasta recipes often involve a long list of ingredients (spaghetti with garlic, white wine, thyme, lemon, and more, for example), but now I realize that there is such a thing as too much, and you don't always need 20 ingredients to make the most flavorful dish.

The best thing you can do is start out with really, really good olive oil. Spend the money on that fancier bottle - it's 100 percent worth it. Because, as I learned, olive oil is just as much an ingredient as pasta or parmesan cheese. When you simply use olive oil to sauté vegetables or throw in a tablespoon to prevent your pasta from sticking before adding other ingredients, the pure flavor gets lost in translation. The rich flavor of homemade olive oil is unlike anything else, and it's truly at the heart of Italian cooking - let it be the star.

Use good salt and fresh garlic. Invest in the freshest seasonal vegetables when you can. And, most importantly, take the time to savor every single bite. I thought this pizza topped with merely tomato sauce and a thin slice of roasted garlic would be boring, but I could not have been more wrong. After one bite, I realized it embodied everything Italian food is about: freshness, simplicity, and flavor. And that's what I'm going to aim to re-create in my own home.

How Long Can an Opened Bottle of Wine Really Last?

How long can an opened bottle of wine really last? To answer this question, I spoke with wine educator Collin Lilly during a recent trip to Andretti Winery in Napa Valley, CA. Although he claims that his response is completely subjective, here are his thoughts on a wine's life span. "I believe that when you are grabbing a bottle of wine, you're making a personal investment and you need to drink that entire bottle that night," said Collin. "Because one thing that is happening with wine when you've consumed half the bottle or more, there's now a gap of air that's filling the bottle. Over time, when it's exposed to too much air, the phenols (or components that affect the wine's taste) will dissipate and become negative flavors."

So should you let a bottle sit out for a day or two? "No, it won't be worth your money. The wine is continuing to age at an accelerated rate." When you open a bottle, it's best to drink it within four to six hours of opening without compromising taste. The wine will change slightly during that time of oxidation but in a positive way. After 24 hours, he doesn't believe it to be good. Although leaving a bottle out for a couple days won't cause it to spoil and make you sick, you will taste a perceivable difference even after just a day. The flavors will die out and eventually turn into an unpleasant taste after two to three days. But again, what you find acceptable will differ from what others can handle.

To slow down the aging process, be sure to recork the bottle and refrigerate it. The rate of oxidation will also depend on the type and age of wine. But to avoid any disappointment, drink it within the same day if possible. And when it comes to cooking with wine, the same rules apply, according to Collin.

The Obama Girls Have Grown Up Before Our Eyes

Barack and Michelle Obama's little girls, Malia and Sasha, aren't so little anymore! As the nation's most public mom, Michelle has always tried to connect with other Americans raising their kids. Malia was just 10 when Barack was elected, and Sasha was 7. "My life is no different from any other working mother. Mine is just more public," First Lady Michelle Obama told us back in 2012, adding, "Some of us have more resources than others, but the pain, the challenges, the fears of motherhood, the frustrations of being a woman, the hopes and dreams that you have for your daughters, and all our daughters are the same." Let's take a look at the Obama girls' family photo album, and then check out more celebrity kids who grew up before our eyes.

What's Up With Kids Rolling Around in Their Beds All Night?

My husband and I like to joke that we gave birth to a grandfather clock. From the day my firstborn was old enough to sleep without a swaddle, he was rolling around the crib in a clockwise fashion. Seven years later, he's still doing it. We've tried twin beds, full beds, and even our own queen bed. It doesn't matter the size, he'll find a way to spin around in his sleep. We've tried tucking him in tightly with his covers, but that doesn't work. And don't even try to lay down with him when he's sick - it's become a dangerous proposition, one that'll likely leave you looking like you were on the losing end of a street fight.

We thought he was an abnormality, until our second son was born, and he started doing the same thing. And when I started asking friends if they'd ever heard of such a thing, I began hearing more stories - including kids that actually do flips in their beds in the middle of the night. There must be an age when they start sleeping more soundly - and in the right direction! - because you don't see many adults doing the clockwise spin, but when?

If you had a restless sleeper, was there a certain age when it stopped? And did you do anything to make it stop?
