'That's criminal to me': How Canada is failing to end HIV/AIDS at home

South Africa AIDS Conference

Two studies released last month show the tools exist to potentially end the more than three-decades-old scourge of HIV/AIDS, but activists and front-line public health workers in Canada say we simply aren't using them effectively.

6 Things I Wish I Had Known About IVF

This post was originally featured on Totally the Bomb and was written by Jamie Harrington, who is a part of POPSUGAR Select Moms.

When my husband and I embarked on our IVF odyssey, I thought I was ready for the emotional roller coaster I was about to strap myself into. Ha. Ha hahahahahaHAHAHA. Ha. That's like saying "Well, I've been on a trampoline so surely I can base jump."

1. Your hooha is Grand Central Station, and not in a fun way.

When starting this journey to expectant mommy-hood, I knew that my lady bits would need to be examined pretty thoroughly by a doctor or two. But in the four years since we started this whole process I have been poked and prodded by so many different doctors, technicians, and nurses that I'm not sure why I even bother wearing pants to the doctor's office any more.

I have to 'disrobe from the waist down' every time I visit just so the Doc can wave the sonogram wand over my tummy to check the thickness of my uterine lining. JUST KIDDING! It's a transvaginal sonogram. SO FUN! The best part? It's the second or third day of your period. You know, the time of month YOU don't even want to be around your vagina.

2. "You need these medications . . . TOMORROW!"

When they give me my medication schedule for the next couple of weeks they warn me that I need to make sure I get all of the medication as soon as possible. Because the first dose has to be taken TOMORROW! But all of this is specialty medication that most pharmacies don't keep in stock! Oh, don't worry. You can use online pharmacies who specialize in fertility medication. The next day you'll get a box with a few thousand dollars in medication dropped off at your door. Sure hope someone is home, because some of it has to be refrigerated!

I don't know about you guys, but I get antsy having a $10 Amazon package sit on my porch for an hour let alone a FEW GRAND in medication I have to start using pretty much the second I get home.

3. You get to give yourself shots! Yay!

Hey, all of that medication you just ordered and carefully catalogued to make sure they sent everything and you just paid a month's salary for? Now you get to inject that into yourself! Every. Day. If you're lucky they are just little subcutaneous injections. Unfortunately, I've graduated to intramuscular progesterone in oil injections. There's nothing quite like drawing a bulls eye on my ass cheek just to be sure my husband doesn't miss the shot.

4. ALL the appointments!

Let me paint a picture for you guys. This is a typical schedule for a FET (Frozen Embryo Transfer) cycle, which is the EASY one. You have to go in on the second day of your period. If everything looks good, two weeks later, after you've injected, ingested and inserted whatever medications you've been prescribed, you get another appointment. Everything looks great! Yay! They can forecast the likely embryo transfer day! Oh, but you still have to go in like three more times next week just to be sure everything is going okay. Plus there is the transfer appointment. Then you get to go in and get your blood drawn for the pregnancy tests. If you get the big fat positive, you then return for more blood tests to check to see if your progesterone levels are increasing like they should.

A fresh embryo cycle is even worse. Imagine that you've been injecting yourself with the ovary follicle stimulation medication. Your lady balls are full to bursting with eggs. Yeah, now's the time for our good friend the transvaginal sonogram! The doctor has to press on your ovaries to measure the size of the follicles. It's kind of like period cramps linked to the wave of a wand with the conductor of the pain symphony calling out numbers for you to write down. (My doctor is a lovely man and he SAYS he understands how uncomfortable the whole thing is . . . ) Then they collect the eggs which is a whole other blog post.

5. You can do everything right . . . and it can still go wrong.

I'm not talking about the fact that you don't get pregnant. No, I mean I went through the six weeks of medications, ultrasounds, and doctor's appointments and got the thumbs up to proceed. Then the day of the frozen embryo transfer, I started to spot. Just a little bit of blood. No big deal, right? Wrong. The doctor cancelled the transfer. "You don't want to build a house on a shaky foundation." He said.

Plus it wasn't like I was rolling in embryos. I had 1. The tragedy was my little embryo wasn't good enough to survive re-freezing. So, it went to embryo heaven and I got to start all over. And after another six months, a hurried diet, and another few thousand dollars I find out . . .

6. Getting pregnant might not be my problem . . . it's staying pregnant.

After my second inexplicable loss of a chromosomally normal embryo (we sprang for genetic testing, because miscarriages suck) the doctor suggested that we run a thrombosis panel to check for a blood clotting disorder to see if there is something that may be causing these losses. Part of me is like "Why the absolute &*#^$* didn't we do that before even started this mess!? The answer of course is cost. I still don't even know if my insurance will cover the test. I love checking the mail every day to see if I have a surprise $1,000 bill waiting for me! (Note to self: Write more blog posts.)

We've Already Been Spoiled With Snaps of John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's Daughter

It seems like no time has passed since we found out that John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed a baby girl, but we've already gotten tons of good looks at the new bundle of joy. In April, Chrissy took to Instagram to share the first snap of her daughter, Luna, leaving us overwhelmed by our emotions. The month got even better, though, when John posted a heart-melting picture of his own, and in May, Chrissy also posted a video of Luna dancing to one of John's songs. At this rate, we're expecting tons more photos in the months to come.

Jason Momoa Has Been Shirtless His Entire Vacation, and We're Not Mad

Though Jason Momoa is notoriously private about his gorgeous wife, Lisa Bonet, and their two adorable kids, the burly Aquaman actor can't help but share photos of his family when they're having a good time. Amid rumors about his next major film project, Jason swept his "familia" off to Barcelona, Spain for a week of rock climbing, bonding time, and beautiful scenery.

In his usual adrenaline-junkie style, Jason has spent part of the vacation at a friend's rock-climbing gym . . . even participating in a climbing competition that's open to the public. Aside from the ripped shirtless photos of Jason and his childhood friends, though, he's also shared some beautiful snaps of Lisa, Nakoa-Wolf, and Lola. Check out the sweetest shots from his family vacation, and you'll feel like you basically tagged along to Barcelona!

8 Things You Need to Know About Millennial Moms

As parents, we often shake our heads at "kids these days" - millennials who would rather stare at the screen of their iPhone than the person sitting across from them at the dinner table, and who, because they got trophies just for showing up, have come to expect the same accolades at their first jobs out of school.

We shudder to think: what happens when those kids become parents?

Well, for starters, it's already happening. Those millennials - widely recognized as people born between 1980 and the early 2000s - have not simply taken over the workforce, surpassing Generation Xers for the first time. According to an analysis of new US Census Bureau data, they're now taking over as parents. Roughly one in five moms is a millennial, and they now account for almost 90 percent of the 1.5 million new mothers within the last year. To put it another way, there are nine million of them raising kids as we speak.

Thankfully, all is not lost for future generations. In fact, most millennial moms don't want to raise their children the same way they were brought up. They want to be more involved than baby boomers, for whom "parenting" wasn't even yet a verb, but they want to hover a little less than those helicopter moms of Gen X. Just as they believe in a diverse portfolio of social media accounts, they are aiming to employ aspects of many different child-raising philosophies in their homes. They see a happy median between baby-wearing, organic-puree-making moms and free-range parents who don't believe in boundaries.

Not only that, but millennial moms are becoming more prevalent in the landscape of modern parenting, and more powerful as well, as companies around the globe begin marketing directly to them.

Here, some of the most intriguing facts about the rise of the millennial mom - and for those parents in their late 20s and early 30s, we're looking at you . . .

The Sexiest Part of Gigi Hadid's Bikini Is Staring You Right in the Face

Gigi Hadid is enjoying her pre-Fashion Week vacation. While we don't know her exact location, we know what she's wearing on the beach thanks to a few sexy snaps. After slipping into a palm-tree-print bikini, Gigi chose something a little racier: a white set complete with a sheer crocheted top. Gigi accessorized with a silver bodychain and her "KenGi" necklace, perhaps to distract from her sheer bralette. Sorry, Gigi, but we couldn't miss it.

While it's natural to be weary about trying out this trend, there's no better time than the end of Summer to give it ago. We found plenty of similar sheer pieces and strappy cheeky bottoms to go with them. Read on for another look at Gigi's swim style, then add some mesh to your bikini drawer.

Take a Peek Into the World of Lil Bub, the Internet's Cutest Cat

Lil Bub is running behind. Her pops, Mike Bridavsky, texts me before my interview with the world-famous cat. "Might be a few minutes late Bub hasn't gone No. 2."

I thought to myself, "Well, this is going to be a interesting day in journalism." But of course I would gladly wait patiently for as long as Bub needed. I was eager to get to know more about the runt turned wonder kitten, who has harnessed technology to raise awareness and funds for special needs pets. Her fame reached a high point in August thanks to a cameo appearance in the movie Nine Lives with Kevin Spacey, which opened Aug. 5.

I didn't have to wait long to meet the cat with nearly 3 million Facebook fans, more than 1.3 million Instagram followers, and over 73,000 Twitter followers. In her adorable, mouth-breathing presence, I learned that her social media fandom only scratches the surface (pun intended). Bub has a whole world outside of it that anyone can enjoy. She has her own special on Animal Planet and starred in Vice's 2013 documentary Lil Bub & Friendz. Bub has appeared on TODAY and The View, at cat conventions, and more. The famous cat even has an app that lets you "Bubify" your photos and a video game called HELLO EARTH that takes you back to some seriously old-school gamer action, and she's currently working on a Bub series. And if you really love the cat, you can visit her store, called "Lil Bub's Lil Shop," in her hometown of Bloomington, IN. Oh, and she's a pretty powerful philanthropist, spreading a global message of triumph and acceptance. But we'll get to that.

With her protruding eyes and a tongue that's always sticking out, Bub kind of looks like an alien. She can't meow but she does make garbled noises (you can likely hear it in the podcast below). All of those precious quirks are the result of a number of different issues. Born in 2011, Bub was the runt in a feral litter, and has dealt some health challenges, including osteopetrosis, which is a rare condition that makes her bones actually grow more dense and which can make walking difficult (something she is currently being treated for). She also has a pretty extreme case of dwarfism, which explains her perpetual kitten-like cuteness. She has no teeth, which is why that tongue sticks out (her lower jaw is also short from the dwarfism). Oh, and she's a polydactyl, meaning she has extra toes (four extra, to be exact, for a total of 22). Recently, scientists have studied DNA to further research those conditions.

Those issues and her fame have helped make Bub the poster kitty for special needs pets and for people hungry for a message of positivity and acceptance. As I learned from meeting her, she doesn't let much slow her down! After successfully raising money to help with her own medical conditions, Bub teamed up with the American Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to create her own fundraiser to raise money for other pets with special needs. Between that fundraiser and other charitable projects, this little cat has raised more than $500,000.

Bridavsky refers to her as a "one-in-a-billion creature" who came along at a time when a massive, cat-loving audience could embrace - and support - her "take-me-as-I-am" message through technology. "The internet served as a conduit for her message and for her magic," he said.

She's a fragile cat, but in good hands with Bridavsky, who was clearly her protector while we recorded a recent podcast. Just don't ask to hold her. According to Bridavsky, only Robert De Niro had that honor. Oh, and don't rush her schedule in the mornings. She's a lady, after all. Listen to my podcast to find out more about Lil Bub and her story.

5 Major Things You Can Expect to See in Fifty Shades Freed

We're less than a year away from Fifty Shades Darker hitting theaters, and watching Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey's romance progress is something that can't come soon enough. But while the next installment of the steamy franchise will undoubtedly be great, it's the third and final book, Fifty Shades Freed, that really brings their love story home. While Fifty Shades Darker will focus on things that are, well, very dark, Freed is all about tackling difficult situations (and people) and coming out stronger on the other side. We've already been treated to a handful of delicious set photos and know some solid details about production, but here are five major plot points you can expect to see unfold on the big screen when the final movie hits theaters in February 2018.

1. Ana becomes pregnant. While at the hospital to care for her stepdad, Ray, Ana finds out she's pregnant. The news isn't welcomed by Christian, however, as he accuses her of falling pregnant on purpose and worries that she will choose their baby over him in the future.

2. Ana's stalker kicks things up a notch. After Ana and Christian return from their European honeymoon, Christian goes out of town on business, leaving Ana to meet up with her friend, Kate Kavanagh, for a few drinks. But when Ana returns home, she finds that her former boss, Jack Hyde - who turns extremely dangerous in Fifty Shades Darker - has broken in in an attempt to kidnap her. Later, he successfully kidnaps Mia Grey and demands $5 million in ransom money from Ana, who ends up in the hospital after shooting Jack in the leg during a struggle.

3. "Mrs. Robinson" is still causing trouble. In addition to Christian still meeting up with Elena Lincoln, their past affair causes major trouble when her scolded ex bails Jack out of jail out of spite.

4. Christian discovers a dark secret from his past. After Ana recovers from the attack, Christian, who is adopted, finds out that he and Jack were in the same foster home together as children.

5. Things finally take a happy turn. The book jumps forward a few years at the end, showing a happy Ana and Christian getting ready to celebrate the second birthday of their son, Theodore (nicknamed Teddy). Ana is also pregnant with their daughter, whom they plan to name Phoebe.

Heavy and Whipping Cream Are the Same Thing . . . Right?

To those of you who've been forced to choose between heavy and whipping cream at the supermarket, you've probably pondered it yourself: isn't all cream more or less the same thing?

Not exactly. There are differences in milk-fat content. All cream contains at least 18 percent milk fat: "whipping cream" is made up of 30 percent, while cartons labeled "heavy cream" or "heavy whipping cream" must contain 36 percent or more. Whipping cream, heavy cream, or heavy whipping cream all work for recipes that incorporate whisked air, but don't reach for that half-and-half; at 10.5 to 18 percent milk fat, it simply won't cut it. The more fat content a cream contains, the more stable it's likely to be in a whipped state. Check out our honey whipped topping recipe for guaranteed success.

The 1 Reason Pippa Middleton Won't Choose a Wedding Gown Like Kate's

We can make speculations about Pippa Middleton's wedding dress, but we won't know what it looks like until she walks down the aisle. Our best bet for guessing, though, is to look to a royal designer. Princess Diana's wedding gown was created by David Emanuel, who recently admitted the task launched his career to fame in an interview with Express. Thirty-five years after his first success, he's offering advice to newly engaged Pippa:

"As long as it's the complete opposite of her sister, because she's a different woman, she's a different body shape. I'd keep it very soft because I think Catherine's dress was quite rigid and quite hard, so just the complete opposite and you shouldn't compare brides. You shouldn't compare women, really."

While we agree the sisters maintain their own signature styles, there have been instances of coordination we can't forget. For fancier events, Pippa and Kate have worn similar silhouettes, though we suspect Pippa will choose something less voluminous than an Alexander McQueen ballgown on her special day. Read on to see both ladies in white at Kate's nuptials, then check out our own ideas for Pippa's bridal look (cap sleeves! Please let there be cap sleeves!).

Harry Potter Fans Will Both Love and HATE This Proposal

Some Harry Potter fans love the books and movies so much that everyone around them also learns all about the franchise - even if they don't like it themselves. It's the predicament one boyfriend found himself in, but he put together a Harry Potter-"themed" proposal anyways.

Posted on Imgur by his now fiancée, hauntlife2590, the gallery of images shows off the strangest Harry Potter proposal yet. It begins with the boyfriend leaving behind a Nerf Gun with a note stating: "Help! I'm trapped in the house surrounded by baddies! Save me with your Hogwarts wand before they Patronus my face hole with their Azkaban wands." If you couldn't tell, the boyfriend knows nothing about Harry Potter. He still put together a sort of Nerf gun obstacle course where his girlfriend needed to "shoot" different characters from the books. Some he let free like Dobby, where he wrote on a printed piece of paper saying, "Your natural inclination might be to fire at this gross little ballsac. But I guess he's a friend. Don't shoot!!!!"

At the end of the Nerf gun hunt, the boyfriend popped out and they had a battle between themselves. Once that was done, he proposed, she said yes, and you can see their entire story below.

Chris Hardwick and Lydia Hearst Are Married

Chris Hardwick is officially off the market. The Talking Dead host married actress Lydia Hearst in front of nearly 450 guests in Pasadena, CA on Saturday, People reports. Lydia wore a custom gown by Christian Siriano, while Chris sported a Prada suit. Just before exchanging "I dos," Lydia told People, "I could never have envisioned a more perfect wedding day. It's better and more magical than I could have ever dreamed of ... It's going to be perfect, and even if it isn't that's how it was meant to be. I'm more excited than anything else!" The couple first announced their engagement back in September, and earlier this week, Chris shared a cute photo from their wedding rehearsal on Instagram. Congrats to the newlyweds!

1 Thing You Should Never Say to Your Child

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." When I was little that rhyme was the big, bad, powerful statement we used to ward off the vicious attacks of other kids.

That rhyme gave us power but didn't protect us from the sting of the words. It didn't stop the ugly words from sinking in and taking root. It didn't stop those words from becoming the way we saw ourselves or from imagining it was the way others saw us, too.

What got me thinking about this was a parent-child interaction I witnessed this week in the grocery store, and this conversation about basic needs for healthy relationships, in which a member named Nancy R. shared the thought that "The emotional hurt may be hidden from others, but it plays on your mind, heart, and soul."

If you remember the sting of mean words spoken to you as a child, why would you ever label your kids in ways that could be hurtful to them? I'm not talking about labels like "autistic" or "sensory seeking"; I'm talking about calling your child "sloppy," "liar," "stupid," "awful," etc.

Do parents who do this believe that labeling their child will change something about them or help correct a behavior? Can that ever work?

An "Awful" Boy

I was in line at the grocery store when I heard a mom very calmly and very firmly whisper to her son, "Are you an awful boy?" The little one tried to pull his body away from his mom, as if to escape the sting of his beloved mother's words, but he couldn't. He very sadly dropped his head and said, "Yes."

This little one's face told the whole story. It was obvious this was not the first time mom had said those words to him. You could literally see the effects of his mom's words being accepted by his emotional self. You could see the words becoming part of how he will define himself, now, and in the future - I am an awful person.

We've all read that parents need to separate the behavior from the child, that parents should tell a child that his behavior is awful, not that he is awful. I don't agree. I don't believe that children can distinguish between the two, not really.

Think of it this way. A group of little girls are playing. Trish looks at Suzie and says, "Suzie, your hair looks funny!" The other girls laugh. Does Suzie understand that she's just having a bad hair day, or does she translate that comment into "I'm ugly"?

I suppose she could have if her parents had coached her on how to respond, maybe by giving her a one-liner comeback like, "You think my hair is funny today, you should have seen it yesterday!" from Sally Ogden's book, Words Will Never Hurt Me: Helping Kids Handle Teasing, Bulling and Putdowns. But most kids can't deflect labels so skillfully. Labels become deeply rooted in how they see themselves and affect all future decisions about what they are and are not capable of.

Most of us remember the sting and impact of a peer's mean label. Imagine how much bigger the sting is when a parent labels.

When the one person a child sees as always being right, her beloved parent, labels her, she just accepts it and defines herself by it. The wound is so deep that it requires a great deal of reprogramming, if you will, to change it.

Why do we need to use harsh words at all? There are far better words to use - words that can actually motivate a child to change.

3 Questions That Improve Behavior

When your child behaves badly, try asking her if what she did was kind. Was it safe? Was it respectful? These three questions begin the process of change and teaching - without categorizing or labeling.

As an educator, a mom, a former child, and now an empowered adult, I implore you: stop labeling your child, even if the label accurately describes what he's done. Using words that motivate change will get you and your child where you want to go, faster.

20 Embarrassing Fashion Sins We're All Guilty of Committing

Even the most stylish women have dirty little secrets. And oddly a lot of them are quite literally dirty - we don't seem that keen to wash things properly. Turns out, plenty of us would sooner throw out a pair of hand-wash-only leather pants than get them laundered, and we'd purposefully wear the same killer outfit several days running if we knew we could get away with it. And don't get us started on what's going on inside our underwear drawer . . .

But no shame here: we're owning up to the bizarre and embarrassing things we have all done with our clothes. It sure isn't pretty, but we're hoping and praying we aren't alone. Read our shocking style secrets, and, if you're brave enough, share yours in the comments section below!

Kylo Ren Watching the Rogue One Trailer Is What Star Wars Dreams Are Made Of

Any Star Wars fan knows that Kylo Ren is a pretty insufferable character. He's filled with angst, obsesses over Darth Vader, and doesn't exactly have a good relationship with his father. It's why he's become the perfect character to parody - whether it's on Saturday Night Live or in a new video showing Kylo Ren "reacting" to the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer.

Created by the Auralnauts, a duo that creates a lot of funny videos on YouTube, the video hilariously captures what Kylo would definitely think about the trailer. He provides commentary all throughout the trailer, like trying to enunciate Bothans, and even nicknames the character Chirrut Imwe as "magic stick man." Watch it above and just try to stop yourself from laughing.

These Peeks of Jason Momoa as Aquaman Prove That He's the Perfect Casting Choice

In case his crazy Justice League workout regimen or the first look behind the scenes didn't convince you that Jason Momoa is perfect for the role of DC Comics' Aquaman (a trident-wielding half-god also known as Arthur Curry), we've rounded up all the peeks we've gotten at the highly anticipated Atlantian hero. Momoa's hulking stature, no-nonsense gaze, and ability to rock tattoos lend him the perfect look for embodying director Zack Snyder's new take on the beloved hero, and the actor's pioneering attitude and respect for the sea mean that he's inwardly suited for the role also.

Both interviews with Momoa and social media snaps about about his new role reveal that he's ridiculously excited to pick up Aquaman's trident - especially because he'll be able to portray his Polynesian heritage in the role. Check out these incredible moments from the filming of Justice League: Part One and Aquaman's brief appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Once you see how powerful, passionate, and intimidating Momoa appears in the role, you'll barely be able to wait for next year's Justice League premiere! (If that is indeed the case, then here are all the shots you need of him from the Justice League trailer.)

Sofia Vergara Hilariously Reminds Us All Why Her Motto Is "No Pain, No Cake"

If there's one thing you should know about Sofia Vergara, it's that she loves cake. Like, really, really loves it. She even had one made specially for the Game of Thrones season finale! So it's no wonder she made an entire video about her guilty pleasure in honor of her new fragrance Tempting by Sofia Vergara. Her motto, after all, is "No pain, no cake."

In the funny clip, Sofia walks viewers through her favorite dessert and why she loves all kinds - even pies. "I try to only eat it from Friday to Sunday, but, of course, that doesn't always work," she hilariously starts before reminding us all why she works so hard in the gym. "I literally work out just so I can give in to the temptation and eat the cake." Same, Sofia. Same. This Blogger's Wedding Gown Will Change Everything You Thought About a Lace Dress

Picture a lace wedding dress with sheer long sleeves and an open back. It's perfectly pretty, isn't it? Not Carolina Engman's. The Fashion Squad blogger chose a By Malina gown that somehow, though crisp white and romantic in style, looked drop-dead glamorous when she posed for photos. Perhaps it was the way she chose to style her hair with Old Hollywood waves or how her wedding photographer captured her climbing a staircase in black and white, with her new husband, Mattias, by her side.

Either way, this particular lace design is certainly something special, so it's a good thing you can shop it. In typical blogger fashion, there's a similar silhouette, called the Isolde, available now. Read on to see the snaps from the Stockholm, Sweden-set ceremony that changed our preconceived ideas about the simplicity of lace, then check out the By Malina piece that can be yours. Thanks for the bridal inspo, Carolina.

The Incredible Viral Blood Donation Campaign We Hope Makes Its Way to the US

While it may seem like there is a bandit removing all the As, Bs, and Os from signs across the globe, it's actually a blood donation campaign. In an effort to encourage people to donate blood, Missing Type is calling on corporations to remove the blood type letters from their signs and emphasize the dwindling resources.

The campaign was launched by the NHS Blood and Transplant department of the British National Health Service. However, cities and companies around the world are joining the effort - Microsoft, Google Japan, Tesco, the famous Amsterdam sign, and the famous Toronto sign have all blocked out the correlating letters.

After a drop in blood donations of nearly 30 percent in the last decade, the Missing Type campaign hopes to stress the importance of donating. An even more staggering statistic, as reported by the World Health Organization, is that 33 people per 1,000 donate blood, which means bank levels are consistently low. As the campaign goes more viral, we anticipate American companies joining the cause. To donate blood in America, visit the Red Cross's donation site map.

24 Times Samantha Jones Stole the Style Spotlight From Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City

Kim Cattrall is 60 this weekend, and in our opinion, she's as sexy as ever. We're still convinced that she is Samantha Jones (not a bad thing), so it wouldn't be a true birthday celebration without a closer look at her iconic Sex and the City character's wardrobe. Sure, we've salivated over Carrie's city-girl outfits and were smitten with Charlotte's posh Upper East Sider wares, but a lot of the time, it was Samantha Jones's unforgettably sultry style that left a lasting impression.

This was one woman who lived for color, statement jewels, oversize hats, and a plunging neckline. We have to admit: Kim knows how to fully commit to a character. She was never afraid to bare more than a little skin and go the distance as Samantha, which is why we're still inspired by her power suits, slinky cocktail dresses, bold costume jewelry, and sky-high heels. After you're done scrolling through our favorite scene-stealing style moments courtesy of Samantha Jones, channel your favorite fictional character in these outfits.

This Is What a Muffin-Bagel Looks Like

Buckle up and get ready to head to Brooklyn, NY, foodies, because the guy who brought us the Rainbow Bagel is back with his latest creation and it looks incredible. First came the Rainbow Bagel, then the Oreo bagel, and now, we present you with the Mufgel! The Mufgel is the love child of a muffin and a bagel and was conceived at The Bagel Store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It's the latest mashup from Scot Rossillo, proving once again that he is the Picasso of bagels. With a crunchy top like a muffin and a chewy, bagel-like bottom, this trend is about to take over your Instagram feed.

The Mufgel comes in different flavors, including a Fruity Pebbles Mufgel, Chocolate Chip Crumb Mufgel, Mozzarella Cheese Pizza Mufgel, and so many more, each with a suggested cream cheese paired to perfection. The flavors are changed regularly, but you're going to have to wake up early to get yours, as they're guaranteed to sell out before closing time. Ironically enough, Rossillo came up with the idea after listening to a commercial making fun of hybrid food crazes, but he used the joke to his advantage and came up with the latest social media sensation. We can all agree that the crazy food combinations aren't stopping any time soon, and this is just the beginning for the Bagel Store! Check out some of the latest drool-worthy Mufgel photos.

Kim Kardashian Explains Why She Doesn't "Label Herself" a Feminist in a Fairly Confusing Essay

Kim Kardashian is at the center of a debate this week, but this time it isn't about nude Instagram photos or exposing Taylor Swift on Snapchat. Kim has long eschewed the idea of being "labeled a feminist" and most recently spoke on the topic during the #BlogHer16 conference in LA. When asked about her stance, Kim revealed that while she is "so supportive of women" and wants them to "be confident," she isn't a "free-the-nipple type of girl." The backlash was swift - and much like she did to clarify her thoughts on the Black Lives Matter movement, Kim took to her blog on Monday to elaborate on and explain her comments. Read her open letter below.

"For me, a feminist is someone who advocates for the civil and social rights and liberties of all people, regardless of their gender; anyone who believes that women should have the same choices and opportunities as men when it comes to education and employment, their bodies and their lifestyles.

Of course I want these things! I'm all about empowering and uplifting women. Obviously, there are things about me that people might say make me a feminist: I work hard, I make my own money, I'm comfortable and confident in my own skin, and I encourage women to be open and honest about their sexuality, and to embrace their beauty and their bodies.

But why do we have to put labels on things? You're Republican, you're Democrat, you're bisexual, you're plus-size, you're poor, you're a criminal, you're a mother, you're a feminist. I'm a human being, and I have thoughts, feelings and opinions about a lot of different things. I don't need to be defined by those beliefs, just as much as I don't want to be set apart from - or viewed as being against - those who DO define themselves by those beliefs."

Everything You Need to Know About Victoria Beckham’s First Makeup Line

The poshest former Spice Girl and fashion label owner Victoria Beckham is launching a limited-edition makeup line with Estée Lauder. Fans of Victoria Beckham will be happy to hear the offering has the same cool-girl aesthetic. Vogue chatted with Victoria about this launch for the September issue (on national newsstands Aug. 23), and here's what we know so far:

Everything is launching on Sept. 13 at esteelauder.com.

There are 14 pieces in the capsule collection, and the products are inspired by four cities: London, Los Angeles, New York, and Paris. "I'm a bit of a chameleon," she told Vogue. "I do change my look - not just my fashion - depending on where I am in the world and how I'm dressing."

Victoria created groupings of up to eight products that are each themed around the four cities. Los Angeles (which she considers to be her second home) is about the fresh-faced SoCal feel, London is edgier with a rock-'n'-roll vibe, New York focuses on statement color, and Paris is the most sophisticated and fashion-forward group.

Expect lipsticks, eye shadows, matte bronzers, and an illuminating primer. "I don't want a red-red," Victoria said of the lipstick. Instead Vogue reports that she chose a matte, orange-based tone, and she described it as "a bit younger, a bit fresher, more modern."

Eye shadows range from a metallic black to a shimmery nude and a "beetle's-wing emerald" (as Vogue described it). The formulas can be applied wet or dry, which is modern technology that brands like NARS and Urban Decay have experimented with.

The luminizing primer is packaged in a 1950s-inspired fluter bottle. It gives a nod to the Lauder archives with Victoria's spin on it. The cream formula doubles as a brightening primer and tightening moisturizer. "Who doesn't love that?" she enthused in this accompanying Vogue.com feature.

Also, the style icon has been hoarding makeup ind mixing it on her own since she was 18! Sounds like this was a long time coming. "It was really about not compromising and creating pieces that I wanted to wear myself," she said in Vogue.

While this is the first time Victoria is taking on makeup with a major brand, she did recently collaborate with Nails Inc. on a polish collection.

See a video Victoria created for Vogue.com, creatively dubbed "Blend It Like Beckham." And stay tuned for images of the chic products!

This Is Not a Drill! New Urban Decay Naked Palette With 12 Matte Shades Is Coming

On Sunday, August 14, Urban Decay posted a photo on Instagram featuring a woman with rose gold hair and a stunning, sandy-hued smoky eye. The caption read: "You asked for it..."

UD's founder Wende Zomnir wrote the first two comments, explaining the mystery post. She said, "The ultimate range of matte neutrals. Done the Naked way. 12 all new exclusive shades of eye shadow." Yes, this is real: there is a brand-new Urban Decay Naked Palette, and it's coming soon!

Come September 18, UD will release the Naked Ultimate Basics Palette ($55, at urbandecay.com), featuring 12 new eye shadows. All of the shades are matte (a big trend for Fall), except for one demi-matte, because strobing! The formula and texture are meant to be buttery and blend easily. Each one is exclusive in the luxe, gold, square package. This is a unique shape for the Naked family, which typically comes in rectangular palettes. It also contains a mirror and the dual-ended blending-and-smudger brush so you can get that true smoke effect.

According to the press release, "Wende can't get enough of Extra Bitter (a beautiful burnt orange that's destined for cult status) and Lethal (a unique reddish brown)." We're pumped to try Instinct (a medium-taupe matte), which looks like the ideal neutral '90s mauve hue to complement the Kylie Lip Kit look. Pre-Game (a pale yellow matte) and Magnet (a smoky gray matte) look like fresh, fun colors to get creative with.

While you have to wait almost a month (ugh!) to get your hands on this piece of heaven, you can see a first look at each shade and the packaging here.

Natalie Portman Wore the Trendiest Dress of Summer on Date Night

Natalie Portman has been promoting her latest film A Tale of Love & Darkness in New York City, but that doesn't mean there's no time for date night. The actress joined her husband Benjamin Millepied for a bite following an afterparty event, and she wore quite the fashionable outfit. Toting along her quilted Dior bag and sporting the same strappy silver heels she wore to the premiere hours earlier, Natalie glowed.

But it was her breezy white dress, complete with embroidery and two ties at the sleeves, that stole our hearts. Admit it: you've probably been looking for a tunic like this one all Summer long. After all, it's the bishop sleeves and bows that make a piece like this one feel "very 2016" and not at all outdated. Read on for a few different angles, then shop the dress you forgot to buy. Trust, there's still time to wear it.

How Your Favorite Chefs Make Flan

When it comes to desserts, flan, like cake, is one that deserves a category all on its own. Although often labor-intensive, it's a treat that many agree is truly worth the wait. A rich and filling take on custard, the jiggly sweet is a staple across Latin America, prompting many chefs to put their own spin on the classic to make a recipe truly their own. Here are five ways your favorite Latino kitchen whizzes are whipping up delicious flan.

Roberto Santibañez: Simple and Straightforward

Robert Santibañez knows that sometimes it's best to keep a simple take when putting a spin on a classic dessert. His flan recipe is still a comforting eggy-based one with a smooth caramel topping and a light touch of cinnamon and citrus. In addition to the usual suspects of cream, sugar, and eggs, Santibañez's recipe includes lime juice, lime and orange zest, and Mexican cinnamon for an added kick.

Jose Garces: With Vanilla and Orange

Jose Garces's thick and creamy vanilla orange flan is a longtime family recipe, with unique ingredients to boot. Featuring melon, basil, olive oil, and salt, this one is sure to be a crowd-pleaser if served alongside fruit or a salad.

Chef Pépin: With Kahlúa and Coffee

Chef Pépin's Kahlúa and coffee flan is sure to be favored by java addicts. Made with the famed liqueur, decaf coffee, and espresso, this one-of-a-kind recipe will leave you happily buzzed.

Marcela Valladolid: Chocolate-Based

Marcela Valladolid's chocoflan recipe is sure to procure some newfound flan-lovers who are normally chocolate loyalists. This flan and cocoa hybrid involves mixing and baking two separate batters that are later married into one fabulous dessert garnished with cajeta (a thick caramel sauce) and pecans.

Ingrid Hoffman: Cheesecake-Inspired

Ingrid Hoffman's cheesecake flan is definitely for those who love a rich and creamy dessert. Similar to traditional cheesecake, this recipe can be stored and refrigerated for up to three days before serving at the perfect consistency. It is also best prepared in individual ramekins.

8 Outfits You'll Regret Not Trying in Your 20s

So, in honor of making the most of your youth and your wardrobe, we've put together a short list of looks to try right now. You'll thank us later - we promise.

Queen Rania Basically Just Wore Her Beach Dress to the Office

Before you jet off on that final Summer vacation, we're sure you plan on taking care of unfinished business. Queen Rania has just the outfit. She attended a meeting with the National Committee For Human Resources Development in Jordan, showing off her sophisticated, yet weather-appropriate style. Just like the embroidered blouse she wore days before, her printed shirtdress was lightweight for the season.

But Queen Rania proves that with the addition of leather accessories, like a thin belt and statement bag, your look appears all the more tidy. Scroll to zoom in on her delicate gold jewels and the pattern on her dress - which is casual enough to double as a beach caftan later on - then shop these royally approved workwear essentials.

Harry Potter Fans, J.K. Rowling Is Blessing Us With a Collection of Short Stories

Family Circle Wants to Know Who Makes a Better Cookie, Melania or Hillary

Hillary Clinton shocked the country in 1992 when she said she "could have stayed home and baked cookies," but she chose to pursue her law career instead. This statement inspired Family Circle, a food and family magazine with 16 million monthly readers, to throw a First Lady Cookie Competition. The wives of each presidential candidate submitted an original recipe to be baked by magazine subscribers and eventually voted on for a winner. It was a widespread success, and the magazine has made it a tradition. It's something many avid American bakers look forward to each election, including myself! With Hillary Clinton running as president in 2016, this year's cookie competition is posing to be a little awkward - that is, unless you know the history behind the competition.

Rather than pitting Melania Trump against Bill Clinton, the magazine opted to rename the cookie-off as well as Hillary Clinton's recipe to something more gender neutral: the Presidential Cookie Poll and Clinton Family's Chocolate Chip Cookies. Perhaps Family Circle made the conscious decision to not include Mr. Clinton in the competition after Huffington Post exposed his oatmeal cookie recipe, submitted in the 2008 Presidential Bake-Off, as a direct copy from the Betty Crocker Cookbook. Talk about troublesome!

As a result, this year's contenders are Melania Trump's Star Cookies, a sugar cutout cookie enriched with egg yolk and sour cream, and Clinton Family's Chocolate Chip Cookies, an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie that Hillary submitted in the '92 and '96 First Lady Cookie Competitions. If it's making a comeback for the third time, it must be that good.

While I'm disappointed Bill Clinton didn't directly participate in this year's cookie competition, I have a work-around. In 2012, I tried both Ann Romney and Michelle Obama's cookies and even created a bipartisan cookie, meshing the two recipes together. I'm thinking Bill Clinton star balloon cookies are in order . . .

Exclusive! See Swatches of Too Faced's Merry Macaron Palette

Too Faced started blowing the minds and stealing the hearts of beauty-loving foodies everywhere when it launched its cocoa-infused (and -scented) bronzer in 2012. From there, the brand moved on to chocolaty compacts and peachy keen products. Now, for its limited-edition holiday palette with Ulta Beauty, Too Faced is giving us a vanilla-fragranced, macaron-themed palette.

Merry Macarons is a pop-up style palette that is inspired by Christmas in New York City. Open the case and you'll find a cartoon girl - accompanied by the Too Faced co-founders' dog, Clover - ice skating in Rockefeller Center. Instead of the iconic pine, there's a tree made of macarons beside a vendor selling the sweet treat.

The products are just as fun. A deluxe-sized Better Than Sex Mascara complements the 12 full-sized, exclusive shadows. There are soft pastels, mid-toned neutrals, a few smoky shades, and a vibrant purple that are all generously dosed with the aroma of a vanilla cookie. There's a healthy mix of shimmers and mattes, but we found that the finish didn't affect the formula. Each swipe looked creamy and pigmented.

While you may have seen sneak peeks of this product on Instagram, we worked exclusively with Ulta Beauty to provide you with swatches on three different skin tones to inform your holiday gifting. Read on to see the flattering shades and decide whether you'll buy Merry Macarons for a friend (or yourself . . . no judgment here!).

In the tweet, Tracee tagged her superstar mom as well as her siblings, sisters Chudney and Rhonda and brothers Ross Naess and Evan Ross, who is married to Ashlee Simpson. Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd's Romance Is as Sexy as Their Dance Moves

When it comes to relationships, Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd are pretty much pros. Over the years, the two have become quite the fan-favorite couple among Dancing With the Stars viewers, and their love story is a big reason why. The two first met in 2009 when they costarred in the Broadway production of Burn the Floor, but things didn't heat up until years later when they started dating in 2012. Although they split 10 months later, they eventually rekindled their romance in 2015.

Justin Bieber Enjoys a Night Out in London After His Feud With Selena Gomez

Less than a week after deleting his Instagram account, Justin Bieber was spotted leaving Tape nightclub in London in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday. The "Let Me Love You" singer donned an all white ensemble complete with sunglasses and was escorted by his bodyguards as he made his way back to his car. Justin's outing marks his first appearance since his feud with ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, though his rumored new girlfriend, Sofia Richie, was seen doing a little solo shopping in LA earlier in the week. While the Canadian singer has yet to respond to Selena's Snapchat apology, both Sofia and Justin have stopped posting pictures of each other on social media.
