The picture, though very beautiful, does not represent how Mercury might look to the human eye. Instead, the photo was enhanced to reflect the different elements that make up the planet's surface.

If you're struggling to teach your kid how to tie their shoes, one mom might have a solution.
Last month, Kirsten Johnson, the mom behind Unstoppable Mother, took to Facebook to live stream her tutorial for what she deemed "the world's easiest way to teach your kids to tie their shoes for back to school."
In the video, her four-step shoe-tying demo looked simple enough, but when she turned the camera on her own 7-year-old son, Rylan, who'd "had some frustration with the bunny ears" and only just learned this new technique, viewers got to see how quick a skill it really is to learn.
The short, two-minute clip has been viewed more than 5.8 million times, and fans are still raving about it on Kirsten's Facebook page.
"I absolutely love reading these comments hearing how children are doing this and feeling amazing because they can now tie shoes," she wrote in a comment today. "That was the purpose of my video. It was to help give any child the confidence that they can tie their shoes and they don't have to give up, or get frustrated."

This Mom Inspired an Autism-Friendly Checkout Line After Her Daughter's Major Meltdown
All shopping trips can be stressful for parents when their child is in tow, especially when it comes time to check out.
Kristin Jackowski is more than familiar with this less than desirable situation, but the struggle is even more difficult for the Philadelphia mom because her daughter has autism. After one of 5-year-old NavyAnna's particularly upsetting meltdowns in the checkout line, Kristin decided to try to make a change. She launched a petition asking large stores to create an autism-friendly checkout aisle. The movement was originally focused on Target, but ShopRite heard about the idea, listened to its customer's need, and made it happen at its newest location.
"I'm over the moon and sobbing like a maniac," she told Philadelphia Magazine. "It's a great example, and I hope other companies follow suit."
This new setup swaps sugary candy and snacks for sensory-friendly items including crayons, stress balls, toys, and wet wipes, which is huge for both families with children on the autism spectrum and those who wish to avoid the point-of-purchase candy temptation entirely. According to her mom, NavyAnna has low impulse control and the sweet treats in the checkout aisle trigger a meltdown when she has to put them back. "We have encountered judgment from other customers and employees who are ignorant to these issues," the mom of three wrote in the petition online. "The stares, comments and eye rolls of disgust I could do without, because the situation is already hard enough."
According to ShopRite store director Paul Kourtis, "It was easy to do." He added: "I have 18 checkouts at the store. If I lose one for a good cause, that's perfectly OK."
The aisle is marked with the autism puzzle-piece symbol and Kristin hopes that other large companies will follow ShopRite's lead. "[Shoppers] are going crazy for it. Even if you don't have a child who is autistic, everybody knows a child who is," Paul said. "People think it's a great idea. Anything to provide our customers with a safe and friendly shopping experience, I say let's do it."

Snapchat Just Made It SO Much Easier to Create a Custom Filter
One of the best aspects of Snapchat is discovering its best features along the way. A favorite among users is definitely the geofilter, which unlocks according to which city you're in. A few months ago, the company started allowing anyone to create a filter, and now, it's become even easier with ready-made templates anyone can use.
Snapchat first introduced its on-demand geofilter in February, allowing all users - not just the selected few whose art submissions get approved - to design their own geofilters for a specific time frame and location. This feature is ideal for weddings, events, birthday parties, and businesses, which were not eligible to submit geofilters previously.
If your design submission meets Snapchat's guidelines, you can upload it online and select the time and "geofence" (either the venue or location radius you'd like covered) it can be accessible for. It will then get reviewed for approval within one business day. The fee for customizing a geofilter starts at $5 and varies depending on the duration (max is 30 days) and location range (from 20,000 to 5 million square feet), according to Business Insider.
Beginning Aug. 30, Snapchat now has templates ready for you to tinker with online. You can choose from the following ones: birthdays, celebrations, and weddings. You'll then see six different filters that you can customize with color and other text. So basically, if you're ever celebrating something, you have zero excuses not to create a filter. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden have one adorable son, Prince Alexander, and his cuteness was on full display during his christening at the Palace Chapel in Drottningholm Palace in Stockholm on Friday. The 5-month-old prince, who Carl and Sofia welcomed in April, looked as happy as can be while being held by his mom during the ceremony. Over the last few years, Demi Lovato has become a champion of getting rid of the stigma that surrounds mental health by repeatedly opening up about her own experiences. In 2013, the singer had a particularly rough time, which resulted in her seeking help from the CAST rehab centers for issues with depression, bulimia, and substance abuse, which she recently opened up about in an interview with CBS. "I mean, I was a nightmare," the "Stone Cold" singer told reporter Tracy Smith. "I would say the word that I want to say, but it's so inappropriate that I can't. And this will be on a Sunday morning, so I'm not going to say it." Demi also revealed that not only has CAST made her into the person she is today, but she is also now the co-owner of the facilities and has brought her rehab "guru" Mike Bayer with her on her Future Now tour with Nick Jonas.
"It sounds ridiculous, but I kind of made a pact with God," the Global Citizen Festival headliner continued. "And I don't even think you're supposed to do that, but I promised, 'If You make me a singer one day, I'm going to use my voice for so much more than singing, and I'm going to help people with it.'" Since overcoming her struggles, Demi has successfully learned how to live without drugs and alcohol, a change that she credits as the reason behind her skyrocketing career. "Because of that, I'm sitting here right now, alive and more successful than I've ever been."
