What I Did to Get (Permanent) Eyebrows on Fleek
It's a beauty woe that's all too familiar. It started in middle school, when I couldn't stand to look at the tiny feather boas sprouting above my eyes. Gwen Stefani was rocking pink parentheses, and I looked like Harrison Ford. I had to tweeze them. Because, you know, when you're in middle school you make responsible and wise decisions. Little did I know that tweezing was a gateway to overtweezing. I ended up looking like Clara Bow when all I wanted was a clean Audrey Hepburn.
Eventually I stared at my superskinny arches and realized that (believe me, I tried) there was little waxing or threading could do to help my already barely there brows. I watched YouTube videos of women filling in theirs like they'd been doing it since the dawn of man. But I wasn't exactly a makeup connoisseur. Probably more like a festival face-painter . . .
But I turned to makeup nonetheless - pencils for sketching my misaligned arches, powders for filling in those sexy bald spots, gels to keep unruly hairs in line, and waxes for building up color. Do you know how much time that takes? If I'm being honest, it takes up most of my morning routine. I could shave my entire body faster than it takes to create one perfectly arched brow.
After all that time each morning, I still found myself catching reflections of them in the rearview mirror. I looked like I'd passed out at a party too early and got attacked by a Sharpie. I had to switch up my morning eyebrow-creating routine. "Eyebrows" and "trial and error" are now so synonymous to me that I fear the bad brow days and cherish the good like loved ones.
While, naturally, perusing #eyebrowsonfleek on Instagram, I discovered microblading. The clouds opened above me, and light poured down on my thirsty arches. My brow-brush-wielding hands prayed for a paid vacation. So I decided to look into the technique.
This alternative tattooing method produces semipermanent results. However, unlike the block-like and harsh traditional eyebrow tats, microblading creates subtle, natural-looking brows by mimicking the strokes of eyebrow hairs.
Microblading requires a manual tool featuring several tiny needles in a row to deposit dye into the dermal second layer of the skin. The pen-like device yields amazingly natural-looking arches because the needles etch hyperprecise strokes that actually look like your brow hairs. Or, in my case, my would-be hairs.
Needless to say, I was intrigued, so when I got the opportunity to visit brow specialist Piret Aava for microblading, I decided to take the plunge and get my eyebrows tattooed. What? Tiny tattoos are in style. It's 2016. And I needed some fly eyebrows, stat.
An Extremely Rare Harvest Moon Eclipse Is Happening Today
An extremely rare lunar event will take place on the evening of Sept. 16, and if you miss it, you might not be able to catch it again until 2024. On this night, the harvest moon - the full moon nearest to the start of Fall - will rise and then experience a subtle eclipse, referred to as a penumbral eclipse. The result is a large moon, oftentimes referred to as a supermoon, that temporarily looks like it has a spooky fog obscuring it.
While the moon will still look special for those living in North America, they will not be able to see the actual eclipse as it will start to take place by 1 p.m. EDT. That does, however, mean that countries in the Eastern hemisphere will get to witness the exciting eclipse in addition to the full harvest moon.
Many are comparing the event to other supermoon eclipses witnessed in the last few years. Look ahead to get an idea of what it will look like. You can also see anything you missed from Slooh's live stream of the lunar eclipse.

8 Copycat Starbucks Recipes Done Healthy
It's hard to resist the allure of Starbucks - especially when everywhere you turn, another shop pops up. And while it's OK for the occasional indulgence, our stance is to steer clear of the twin-tailed mermaid. The sheer amount of sugar contained in its coffee drinks alone makes it a daily habit that is worth rethinking.
But that doesn't mean you have to go without. What's life without a Frappuccino, after all? Here are some of your favorite Starbucks recipes that can easily be made at home, which will not only save you money, but will dramatically cut back on fat, calories, and sugar, too.

If You're in Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease Hell, You're Not Alone
My 3-year-old had a fever on Thursday night, spent Friday on the couch watching Cars on repeat while refusing to eat anything but applesauce, and woke up Saturday morning with red spots in the back of his mouth. If you have a child under the age of five, you probably already know that I spent the weekend in hand, foot, and mouth disease hell, and apparently I'm not the only one. My deskmate at the office's son had it last month, the lady at the nail salon said a few of her clients' kids got it, a friend told me she overheard a group of moms lamenting about it at the gym, and a woman I met at a birthday party sympathized with me since her toddler had just gotten over it. It's not a coincidence that it's going around; the virus, which usually starts with a fever followed by painful sores in the mouth and a skin rash on the hands and feet, is most common in the Summer and early Fall and is, you guessed it, extremely contagious.
HFMD, not to be confused with hoof and mouth disease or foot and mouth disease, lives in saliva and mucus, which, as luck would have it, a toddler is highly skilled at wiping on furniture, clothing, people, and various other objects with reckless abandon. It is also spread through feces (yes, poop). As disgusting as it may be, parents of small children know that poop is not just neatly contained to diapers and toilets, so you're in pretty close proximity to potentially infected fecal matter on a regular basis. And since there are no drugs to prevent the virus or to stop it once you have it, you have no choice but to just deal with it. And by deal with it, I mean slowly lose your mind while living in fear that you, too - or worse, your other child/ren - will contract it as well.
The CDC recommends hand washing, disinfecting toys and frequently touched surfaces, and avoiding close contact with people who have HFMD to help prevent infection and spreading. Have you ever tried to stop a 3-year-old from putting their hands in their mouth and then touching things? That's basically all they do, all day. And close contact is essentially a requirement of having small children, so these suggestions are probably more effective at getting a laugh out of parents of toddlers than they are at actually stopping the spread of the virus.
It shouldn't be surprising that in the last three days I've gone through three containers of Clorox disinfecting wipes, two bottles of Purell hand sanitizer, and an entire jug of Mrs. Meyers hand soap refill. I've done approximately 17 loads of laundry and spent roughly five hours cleaning every surface of my house in an attempt to contain the virus. I probably would have become even more obsessive with my disinfecting routine, but a solid portion of each day also had to be spent keeping my 6-month-old as far away from my infected 3-year-old as possible.
But of course all these efforts may prove futile, because our son was probably contagious before we even knew he had the disease and he'll still be contagious after his mouth blisters have cleared up and he's back in preschool. According to the CDC, people that are infected can be contagious for weeks after symptoms go away. And worse, you can be infected and possibly not even know it since "some people, especially adults, may not develop any symptoms, but they can still spread the viruses to others." So basically, you're screwed even if you sealed off your child's bedroom and locked them in there for a week without contact.
And if you, like me, were finding solace in the notion that once your child gets HFMD, they'll develop immunity to any further infections, think again. Different viruses can cause HFMD, so if your kid initially got it by way of the common coxsackievirus A16, you could be in for round two of sterilizing all the things if enterovirus 71 or coxsackievirus A6 show up at preschool.
I can't be sure just yet that my crazy-making efforts to prevent HFMD from spreading to myself and the two other members of my household have been effective, but there is hope that this unpleasant childhood disease will one day be wiped out like chickenpox. Research is being done on a vaccine approved in China, where there were more than 9 million cases of HFMD between 2008 and 2013.
So while we wait for the vaccine to make its way stateside, at least all parents of toddlers can come together and commiserate. And wash our hands.

Sandal Boots Are Now a Thing, and We Bet Bloggers Will Love 'Em

The 1 Style Trick Kate Middleton's Been Hiding Up Her Sleeve
Kate Middleton's never had a blue period - she's always worn the color, and that's definitely not a bad thing. While the duchess has pretty much experimented with the whole rainbow, she routinely comes back to crisp cobalt coats, navy suit sets, and shades that fall at the ends of the spectrum, like periwinkle or indigo.
Why blue and not green or red you might wonder? Blue is the duchess's power color - it's the hue that makes her glow with confidence, whether she's walking the red carpet or stepping out for a public appearance, making a statement on the street. Needless to say, Kate's worked it in countless different ways, making us realize just how beneficial it is to find our own power color and run with it.
Read on to see all of the unique ways Kate's showed off the blue section of her wardrobe, and let it inspire you to experiment with your own favorite tone.
New Study Confirms That Kids Get Their Intelligence From Mom
You have your mother to thank for all the great things you've accomplished. Our friends at YourTango discuss a study that traces intelligence back to your very own mama.
Hear that, dads?
You have more to thank your mother for than your perfect nose and that Amazon gift card you still have in your night table drawer. (Seriously! Use the damn thing, already!)
According to a study, all your smarts come from your mama, whether you like it or not.
Let's break down the science for those (like me, who hated biology class) who may be a little rusty.
Women have the XX chromosome and men have the XY chromosome. A chromosome is like a hard drive, that lives in our cells. It transports our genes to our offspring.
And according to this study, our intelligence comes straight from those really important X chromosomes; and since our mothers have TWO of those bad boys, it's twice as likely our intelligence comes from our maternal side.
Don't worry, dads! Your effort isn't for naught!
The same study suggests that the XY chromosomes contribute to the physical aspect of your children. Of course, these tests were all done on mice, but there's a pretty good chance this information is accurate for humans, too.
According to Psychology Spot, "Those with an extra dose of maternal genes developed a bigger head and brain, but had little bodies. Conversely, those with an extra dose of paternal genes had small brains and larger bodies."
So. Many. Jokes. But I won't. I can't. I won't!
But it's not ALL science that helps make us geniuses:
"The importance of the emotional relationship for the development of the brain has been demonstrated by researchers at the University of Washington, who revealed for the first time that a secure bond and the love of the mother are crucial for the growth of some parts of the brain. These researchers have analyzed for seven years the way mothers relate with their children and have found that when supported emotionally their children and adequately gratified their intellectual and emotional needs, at age 13 the hippocampus of the kids was 10% greater than that of children of mothers who were emotionally distant. It is worth mentioning that the hippocampus is an area of the brain associated with memory, learning and stress response."
So, before you go yelling at your mom for replying to the Nigerian prince who emailed her, remember: You share the same genes. That same Nigerian prince will be in YOUR future, too!

6 Easy Guacamole Recipes That'll Have You Dipping and Redipping
They say you shouldn't break what's broken, but we're going to go ahead and say that rule doesn't quite apply to guacamole. The classic mix of avocado, red onion, and cilantro sure is yummy as heck, but you can't tell us that the idea of adding a bit of bacon, chili pepper, or chicharrón doesn't sound mind-blowing.
We asked Chef James, the author of The Homemade Chef who appears on Telemundo's Un Nuevo Día, to give us a cheat sheet to the most original yet easy-to-make guacamole recipes he loves to whip up when it's time to impress his friends. His list is so delicious and creative, you're probably already hitting print and getting ready to display it on your fridge and reference it as often as possible.

Clever Dog Helps Rescue Puppy Abandoned in a Pile of Garbage
Dogs are loyal to a fault, and not only to their humans, but to other dogs as well. Take Poppy, for example. When she and her human were on a walk recently, Poppy knew there was a puppy in danger underneath a pile of garbage, and she wouldn't leave until her human pulled the puppy out. A post shared on Dublin, Ireland, SPCA's Facebook page tells of Poppy sniffing out the week-old puppy that had been abandoned and is now under the SPCA's care. Had it not been for Poppy's determination to help the pup, she might not have survived, SPCA volunteers said. Awesome work, Poppy!

Attention: The Most Electrifying Clothes at Fashion Week Just Hit the Runway
Everyone in the fashion industry's surely got a favorite collection by now, and we bet it's Altuzarra. While the brand is known for making women feel sexy without showing skin, this season gets a bit more frisky. Often inspired by characters in films, Joseph Altuzarra was attracted to Lula's youthful spirit in Wild at Heart. But don't worry, these clothes are still PG-13.
Diagonal ruffles struck a whimsical note, but playfulness took precedence thanks to sequined cherries and lemons that covered so many of the pieces - even the evening wear. The body was defined and flattered by uniting just the right separates, a knee-length skirt, a vibrant bralette, and a metallic belted blazer, for example. Shiny heels were strapped over patterned tights, calling attention to the legs, while geometric earrings said, "Baby, look up here."
While Altuzarra's recently-launched bags played neutral in the wardrobe before, this Spring they'll graduate to must-have status. These punchy pouches and satchels were not made to wear with just anything; they were built to dazzle street style photographers. Finally, it's important to note that gingham, snakeskin, and floral prints should not match in perfect harmony. But when Joseph Altuzarra works his magic, you better believe they do.

Chloë Grace Moretz's Stylish Teen Vogue Spread Was Upstaged by Brooklyn Beckham's Hat
Keeping up with celebrity relationships can get pretty tough. One day two stars are together, laughing and in love. The next they're done, leaving fans feeling heartbroken and [insert crying emoji here]. But alas, the memory lives on - and Teen Vogue covers, too, at least if you're Chloë Grace Moretz and Brooklyn Beckham. When the actress shared a snap of herself on the magazine's October/November issue, we immediately recognized the hat of the mystery man she was hugging. It belonged to Brooklyn Beckham, and was something they once shared before they (reportedly) called it quits.
Chloë talks a bit about her relationship in the issue and also rocks a variety of fabulous Fall looks. But that hat, man - it's all we can think about. It's the one thing that's still connecting them, giving us a bit of hope.
Check out how they both rocked this "Yeah Baby" cap, both in front of the camera and on the street, then check out Chloë's interview on Teen Vogue's site.
Try Keeping a Straight Face Watching These Kids Explain How Babies Are Made
Jimmy Kimmel had his production crew hit the streets of Hollywood to ask kids how babies were made - and the results were hilarious. Kimmel decided that the best way for kids to learn about the birds and the bees was from each other and not their parents, but he soon found out that it's just as embarrassing. The responses speak for themselves and range "from boobs" to "the downstairs goes into the girl's downstairs."
However, the last kid definitely takes the crown, looking at the woman with disgust immediately after hearing the question. "I'm not in fifth grade yet, I shouldn't know this stuff . . . I've seen Star Wars, and it looks really gross and painful."

Nothing Stops This Dedicated Mom From Pumping - Not Even a Half Marathon
Running a half marathon is a major accomplishment whether you're a mother or not. But when you decide to tackle those 13.1 miles just a few months postpartum, it takes the incredible feat to an entirely new level.
Anna Young, who nurses her 5-month-old daughter, didn't let the demands of running a race stop her from keeping to her schedule of pumping breast milk. In an incredible photo that is inspiring moms across the internet, Anna can be seen boldly pumping alongside other runners as she continues her trek with a backpack for the gear in tow.
Some competitors lack the coordination to even sip water without breaking their stride, but Anna incredibly pumped while still making her way toward the finish line. She explained that she had to leave for the race at just 4:30 a.m. to make it to the start on time.
"I nursed my daughter before I left my house, pumped after running the first 8 miles and nursed her after I made it past the finish line," she said on the Occupy Breastfeeding Facebook page alongside the powerful photo. "This group and Le leche league motivated me to find a way to run my race and take care of my daughter."
Victoria Beckham's Dancing Shoes Are Not as Sexy as They Used to Be
The rumors are true: Victoria Beckham is going on tour - through New York City. The chic designer danced around Times Square followed by her son Brooklyn, who captured it all. Obviously, she was celebrating the debut of yet another successful collection, so "Staying Alive" was the proper soundtrack. Laugh all you want at her collision with Cookie Monster or her exaggerated, sexy model strut, but her outfit is chic as can be.
Victoria's been opting for breezy separates during her stay in NY, so a white blouse, loose pants, and flats fit the bill. While the former Posh Spice used to take the stage in her "little Gucci dress" and strappy heels, these times, they are a'changin. Read on to watch her break it down on the street, then we'll break down the basics for you to shop.

That's partly why we were so darn excited when Shay announced her new collaboration with BaubleBar: now we could all steal a pieces of her stellar style, and it won't even break the bank to do so.
While the collection is full of statement chokers and ear cuffs, the Pretty Little Liars made sure to include her go-tos as well: stackable and statement-making rings. "I'm pretty consistent with rings," she told us when asked about her own everyday look. "I have a few favorites that I put on whether I wear a T-shirt and jeans or a dress." Looking back, that becomes clear - the star rarely posts a pic without a handful of jewels.

Empire Teases Season 3 Greatness With a Moving New Song: "Need Freedom"
The Lyon family will roar back onto TV screens when Empire returns for a third season on Sept. 21, but the award-winning TV show has already gifted us with yet another incredible song. "Need Freedom," which premiered on Billboard on Thursday, was written by Empire's supervising music producer, Rodney Jerkins, and features Jussie Smollett's soulful vocals. The track tackles social justice, mentioning victims of gun violence and police brutality like Sandra Bland, Mike Brown, and the people who died at Pulse nightclub in Orlando.
"I recorded this exactly seven days after Philando Castile was shot," Smollett revealed to Billboard. "Between the shootings of Castile, Alton Sterling, at the Pulse in Orlando and the police officers in Dallas - not to mention the other numerous killings over the last couple of years - it was like we couldn't breathe. What are we doing as a people, a nation; what messages are we sending to the next generation. Then this song came." There will be two versions of the song on the show, "Need Freedom," and "Free Freda," the latter of which references the character of Freda Gatz, who ended up in jail at the end of season two. Listen to it in full below.
The First Trailer For Annabelle 2 Is Here to Ruin Your Day
We were hoping to have a nice, peaceful Thursday, but much like a demon-possessed doll who wants to ruin the lives of the people around her, Warner Bros. went ahead and released a teaser trailer for Annabelle 2, a movie that will surely haunt us all well into old age. To its credit, the sequel to 2014's dull spinoff of The Conjuring seems to be trying to freshen up Annabelle a bit; instead of another movie about the evil doll terrorizing a new family, it appears Annabelle 2 - due out May 19, 2017 - might be an origin story of sorts. The minute-long clip shows Lord of the Rings actress Miranda Otto slowly peering into the room of a little girl, who's facing away from her while having a tea party with the doll. "Annabelle?" she whispers (to the girl, not the doll), before brandishing a cross and watching the girl's bones snap in unnatural and horrifying ways. Like we said: a nice, peaceful Thursday.

Marc Jacobs Dreamed Up a Wild Runway Show - and Every Supermodel Came Through
Marc Jacobs need not stage his runway show on the street or accompanied by a live band. Instead he prefers to invite the industry into his wildest dreams on the last day of New York Fashion Week. This season was set at the Hammerstein Ballroom, where the theater was intimate and dark, decorated with 1,500 floating lights. It was 2pm though, so we were stepping into Marc's afternoon nap.
He imagined a collection fit for the eccentric school-girl. She dressed in her bow-adorned blouse or the top-half of her coordinate set, then decided to ditch class and run away into a fantasy world. Cotton candy colored dreadlocks sat atop her head, but she walked with heavy steps (those sky-high boots or the alternative platform shoe and striped, embellished sock likely weighed more than she did).
For Marc, metallic suit sets meant moto coats with bundles of feathers that breezed off the shoulders. Forget the trousers, though, models shook it in matching booty shorts instead. There were plenty of sequined bombers and patchwork trenches to match kitschy backpacks, but Marc brought in his signature grunge with camouflage jackets too.
Of course, Marc's loyal supermodel set came through. His lineup included staples like Jamie Bochert, Kendall Jenner, Irina Shayk, and Adriana Lima, but Stella Maxwell, Taylor Hill, Sara Sampaio, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Hanne Gaby Odiele, and both Hadid sisters were there too. After all, why dream a dream and not invite all your friends?
Do Rainbow Dreadlocks at Marc Jacobs Prove That Cultural Appropriation Is Still "In"?
Less than a month after Free People was slammed for selling dreadlocks as a hair accessory, the models at Marc Jacobs wore a rainbow version of the style on the Spring 2017 runway.
Guido Palau for Redken told POPSUGAR that the inspiration for the hair was "ravers/'80s clubgoers," with a grungy, Marilyn Manson-esque feel. "It's all about the color and the volume, it's not about the shape. The shape should feel abstract, like they did it themselves," he said. Each loc was handmade and hand-dyed by Jena Counts, a Florida-based artist who owns the DreadlocksByJena Etsy shop.
"The wool [for the locs] comes in long roping, so you have to cut it to the length you need. Then you boil it, roll it, put it in vinegar, and dye it," Counts said. "Marc wanted to use tons of pastels and ombré in the dreads, so I dyed it multiple times over the course of a month to get the right shades." POPSUGAR has reached out to Counts for further comments on the look.
Jourdan Dunn, Adriana Lima, Kendall Jenner, and Gigi Hadid were among the models cast for the show, all of whom wore the colorful locs. While it's exciting to see rainbow hair and diverse models, the look also has potential to generate controversy.
Dreadlocks are traditionally worn by men and women of color. However, in recent years, the style - along with cornrows, twists, and more - has become mainstream among white people, too. Many stars, like Katy Perry (who wore cornrows in her "This Is How We Do" video) and Kylie Jenner see these traditionally black styles as trendy. But as Amandla Stenberg pointed out in her now-iconic "Don't Cash Crop My Cornrows" video, braids and locs are "not merely stylistic. They're necessary to keep black hair neat."
Even worse, when black women or men wear locs, it often generates negative attention. Just last year, Zendaya wore the style to the Oscars, and E!'s Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic stated her hair looked as if it "smells like patchouli or weed."
Palau made it clear to our backstage reporter that the hair from the catwalk was not meant to be copied.
"It's a fantasy. I don't think that women are going to go home and try this. I don't think that the look always has to be transferable. But there are girls and boys who wear their hair like this, so it's a reality; it's just not everyone's reality. Someone asked me how do I do this at home, and I said, 'you don't.'"
Many runway creations are meant to be artistic statements impossible to replicate. That said, they are also often misinterpreted by the general public. Fashion Week is seen as the birthplace of the hottest new styles, and trendsetters eagerly watch the runway for the next It look. But if you're keeping a close eye on the catwalk, keep the cultural context in mind as well.

How Much Do You Know About Queen Elizabeth's Corgis?
Queen Elizabeth II is a known Corgi-lover. But then again, aren't we all? To celebrate Queen Elizbeth's Corgi love, Spoonflower pulled together a few fun facts about the queen and her pups.
- The queen has owned more than 30 Corgis (but none, as far as we can tell, with a name longer than two syllables).
- Pembroke Welsh Corgis are her favorite breed.
- She has loved Corgis since she was a small child, after first encountering those owned by the children of the Marquess of Bath.
- The first Corgi she ever owned was called Dookie, which her father, the future King George VI, brought home for his daughters Elizabeth and Margaret in 1933.
- WHen Elizabeth was 7, she picked Dookie from a choice of three Corgi pups, reportedly because of his longer tail – "So that we can see whether he's pleased or not."
- When still young princesses, Elizabeth and her sister, Margaret, invented the "dorgi," by cross breeding Elizabeth's Corgi, Tiny, with Margaret's Dachshund, Pipkin.
- On her 18th birthday in 1944, the future queen was given a Corgi named Susan.
- She was so fond of Susan that she took her on honeymoon after marrying Prince Philip in 1947.
- Susan founded a Corgi dynasty, producing at least 10 generations of royal Corgis.
- Susan became one of several royal Corgis to bite royal servants, when she nipped Leonard Hubbard, the Royal Clockwinder, as he was entering the Royal Lodge Windsor in 1954.
- Holly and Willow, the queen's current Corgis, are the last two remaining of a once 13-strong pack.
- Holly and Willow seem likely to be the queen's last Corgis, after the announcement last year that she had ended her breeding program.
If You Blinked, You May Have Missed Lady Gaga on American Horror Story
The new season of American Horror Story has finally arrived, and the season's theme seems to be taking us deep into the mystery of Roanoke. There was plenty to be excited about: we finally met some of the season's characters and felt so many emotions about the first episode. And yet . . . and yet. There was no sign of Lady Gaga or Evan Peters anywhere, and we couldn't help but pine after some of our favorite stars, both veteran and new. Not all hope is lost, though.
After the episode premiered, a preview of what's to come popped up online, hinting at the dangerous, horrifying thrills that lie ahead. What's more, one part in particular seemed to very briefly feature the face of Lady Gaga! It's hard to tell, but it looks like she might be a part of that sinister colonial mob that materializes in the woods. She appears in the first 10 seconds of the teaser, ensconced behind a crazed Kathy Bates.
We obviously can't say for sure it's Gaga. Given the fact that the season is so shrouded in mystery, we know nothing about the pop star's character or role in the season as a whole. She's presumed to be part of the season's cast, though, and it looks an awful lot like her. Could she be more creature than human? Is she one of the monsters lurking in the forest? Only time will tell.
The iPhone 7 AirPods Have Landed - Here's What You Need to Know
At Apple's highly anticipated event unveiling the upcoming iPhone 7, one product update in particular sparked a lot of conversation and near controversy. On Sept. 7, Apple CEO Tim Cook proclaimed the death of the iPhone headphone jack and traditional headphones as we know them.
In lieu of its usual headphones, Apple will introduce wireless ones referred to as AirPods. Below, we've listed what they are and how exactly they'll work.
- Advanced sensors: The AirPods use advanced technology to detect when they're in your ear. If you'd like to pause whatever you're listening to, simply remove one or both of them. The sound will automatically resume once you put them back in.
- Easier access to Siri: To access Siri, simply double-tap the AirPods. From there, Siri will also be able to control the volume of your music, check your battery life, or do anything else that would otherwise involve you touching your phone.
- You'll be heard more clearly: AirPods use accelerometers to know when you're speaking on the phone and will filter out external noises to improve the sound and clarity of your voice.
- Charging them is a nonnegotiable: Though they are meant to deliver five hours of listening time, the headphones do need to be charged by placing them back in the corresponding charging case. The charging case can emit 24 hours of charging time until it, too, needs to be charged.
- They aren't cheap: The AirPods will be available for $159 in October.
- There is a way to hold onto your old headphones: If you're not interested in getting the AirPods, you can still use your old headphones with the adapter that will ship with the new iPhones. One end will connect to the lightning port and the other will have a headphone jack opening.
