Lego's Yellow Submarine Set Includes 4 Adorable Figures of The Beatles

Leave it to Lego to bring Beatlemania back in this century. The company is releasing a Yellow Submarine Lego set, complete with John, Paul, George, and Ringo minifigures, in November.

The set, which has more than 550 pieces, is a nod to the movie Yellow Submarine, which was inspired by The Beatles' music and even includes a short cameo of the band in the film. It comes with several little details from the movie like John's telescope, Ringo's "half a hole" tile, Jeremy's apple, and more. If you're a collector or serious Beatles fan, it will also come with two different display stands: one for the yellow submarine and another for the minifigures.

Originally, the set wasn't Lego's idea but that of Kevin Szeto, who submitted the concept for it on Lego Ideas, a place where fans can propose new sets. The set made it through Lego's review process in June, and we finally get to see it this year!

See photos of the fun, pint-sized set ahead, and start counting down the days till Nov. 1 to buy it for $60 in either Lego stores or select toy shops.

You Don't Have to Choose Between Coffee and Beer: Starbucks Combines 'Em

You know those situations where you're not sure whether to meet your friends for coffee or beer? Well, Starbucks just solved that conundrum for you with their new Espresso Cloud IPA cocktail. Available on the Starbucks evening menu at a variety of locations nationwide, the inventive new beverage is like an elevated sake bomb, but with espresso instead of sake.

To create the Espresso Cloud IPA, Starbucks coffee innovator Justin Burns-Beach dollops espresso-orange-vanilla foam (made by shaking espresso and other flavorful ingredients with ice) on top of an IPA, then serves a shot of the same espresso alongside the beer. He then suggests pouring the espresso shot into the beer-foam beverage to create a layered cocktail that is equal parts flavorful and beautiful.

The Espresso Cloud IPA joins other alcoholic Starbucks inventions like the Red Wine Fraggino high atop the list of reasons why we approve of the company's foray into the boozy world. Yum!

The First and Last Lines of the Harry Potter Books Will Send You on a Roller Coaster of Emotions

The witches and wizards in the world of Harry Potter came a LONG way over the course of seven novels. If you're a hardcore fan, then it probably felt a bit like it was your own journey as well. Rereading the first line of The Sorcerer's Stone and the last line of The Deathly Hallows back to back will make you feel so many things. It's bittersweet, it's funny, it's nostalgic, and it will definitely make you smile. Or cry. Or both.

We put together the first and last sentences of all the books, and they'll remind you of everything, good and bad, that your favorite characters made it through (or didn't make it through; still not OK about the whole Fred thing, Rowling). Yet still, in the end, all was well.

These Are the 10 Best Places to Take Your Kids Trick-or-Treating This Year

Most parents take a predictable route for trick-or-treating with their kids - a walk around a two- or three-block radius of their home, a possible detour into a neighborhood rumored to have full-size candy bars, and, if applicable, a trip through a special town event designed for kids to get some delicious chocolate loot. But have you ever wondered what your kids' experiences on Halloween are like in comparison to other cities around the country?

To figure out which cities in the US most deliver on Halloween night, SmartAsset conducted a study based on seven key factors, including the density of single-family homes, population percentage of kids under the age of 14, median home value, and average temperature on Oct. 31. Using all of the collected data from 252 of the largest US cities, it compiled a list of the top 10 cities for dressing up to ask strangers for candy.

The Top 10 Places to Trick-or-Treat

  1. Nampa, ID
  2. Orem, UT
  3. Aurora, IL
  4. Kennewick, WA
  5. Longmont, CO
  6. Dearborn, MI
  7. Elgin, IL
  8. El Paso, TX
  9. Kenosha, WI
  10. Olathe, KS

SmartAsset goes the extra mile on its website to include the next 15 best places - however, the rest of the data from the other 227 cities analyzed is unclear besides noting that cities in Florida are some of the worst places to trick-or-treat (which is not surprising considering the October heat).

Whether your city is on this list or not, may your child's candy bucket be filled with all of your - oops, their - favorites.

Celiacs Rejoice: These Halloween Candies Are Gluten-Free

Holidays can be a real drag if you have dietary restrictions, and with Halloween being all about the candy, it can be downright scary. But there's good news for those avoiding gluten: although you'll have to steer clear of homemade mummy-shaped cakes and brownies decorated adorably with spiderwebs, most candy bars and hard candies get the green light - just stay away from Twizzlers, because they surprisingly do contain gluten! Now, we're not saying to go crazy with the candies, but when a majority of "fun size" bars are only 100 calories, a little indulging might be necessary.

First things first. Always read the label on your candy before consuming. Unless labeled "gluten-free," candy may contain traces of gluten, be produced in a facility that also processes products with wheat, or be made on equipment that is shared with products that are not gluten-free. Also note that a product labeled as gluten-free in one country may not be gluten-free where you live. For instance, Smarties in the US are g-free, whereas Smarties in Canada are not. Another reason to read the label? Companies are constantly changing the ingredients they put in products, so always double check just to be sure. When in doubt, you can call the 1-800 number located on the packaging to speak with a customer service representative to find out for sure if it's free of gluten.

Here's a list of popular candy that is currently gluten-free:

Chocolate

Candy

If you're wondering about M&M's, Snickers, Twix, 3 Musketeers, and Milky Way, the company that makes these products, Mars, urges consumers to read the labels directly on the package for allergy information.

Think You Know the Most Used Spells in Harry Potter? The Answer Might Stupefy You

Since Hermione Granger taught Ron Weasley how to properly pronounce Wingardium Leviosa in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, the pair and their fellow friends ended up performing many more spells - hundreds more, in fact.

One seriously devoted data analyst fan, Skyler Johnson, was so curious about the use of spells in the franchise that he categorized when and how often each spell is used in a neat chart. Each book is represented by a different color and hovering over a specific dot will allow you to see the context in which the spell is used.

On the left-hand side, you can choose to rank the spells by most occurrences or order of appearance. The most used spells are Accio, Expecto Patronum, and Stupefy. One spell was only said once in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: Waddiwasi. Interestingly, the most spells performed occurred in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, followed by Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

The thorough graph is sure to delight any Potterhead - however, take it from us: looking at the chart for too long can totally kill your productivity.

Let's take a trip down memory lane with these iconic treats of our childhood.

A Better Way to Freeze Bananas For Smoothies, Banana Bread, and More

Don't toss out those overripe bananas! With a couple minutes of prep work, they can be transformed into frozen nuggets of gold, perfect for smoothies. Here's the best way to do it:

  1. Start with overripe, spotty bananas (they have much more flavor).
  2. Peel all of the bananas.
  3. Slice them into 1- to 2-inch chunks. (Smaller pieces are much easier on your blender; even a high-powered blender, like a Vitamix, will have trouble breaking down a whole banana.)
  4. Arrange them in a single layer on a parchment- (or wax-paper-) lined rimmed sheet pan. Don't just toss the unfrozen chunks into a freezer-safe bag; if you do this, they'll freeze into a brick of banana chunks that'll need to be chipped apart before using.
  5. Once frozen, transfer to freezer-safe bags. We like to separate them into individual bags that hold just enough banana chunks for a smoothie, so there's no guesswork (or measuring needed) when you're tired and looking to blitz your way to breakfast. For our go-to smoothie recipe, that means 1 1/2 bananas, but many other recipes use less.

Armed with a freezer full of banana bags, you'll always be ready for rich, creamy smoothies, vegan banana "ice cream," banana bread, or oatmeal (heat the chunks in a microwave until thawed before using).

Facebook's Newest Offering Just Might Make You Want to Clean Out Your Closets

Update:It took only a few hours for people to start selling guns and babies on Facebook Marketplace. The company blamed an error for these posts to appear. For now, Facebook has stopped rolling out Marketplace until it can fix this problem, the company told CNN.

Original story: As if you weren't spending enough time on Facebook, the ubiquitous social-media site, is launching a new offering today that is sure to make it your one-stop-shop for everything. Marketplace, a space to buy and sell items with people within your community, is a Craigslist-like service that will exist on the bottom of the Facebook App. Once users tap the icon (it looks like a storefront) they'll immediately see photos of items for sale in their community.

The service, an extension of the sale function currently available in Facebook Groups, will allow users to filter their results by item type, price, and location. The location function can be adjusted to show sellers in your town or in an entirely different city. Once a user finds a product they'd like to purchase, they can communicate directly with the seller through the Marketplace space on the app.

Given how much time we spend weeding through posts in Facebook Groups now, the addition of Marketplace can only make our time spent there a bit more productive - or expensive, depending on how you look at it!

Watch a video of how the service works below.

All of a sudden, our minds went wild. We knew Nicky wasn't the only bride who could pull off this style, so we did a little Insta digging - and found a trove of #ModestBride inspiration.

Read on to see why you might want to consider ditching those strapless options and covering up for your nuptials. These ladies did - and they all looked stunning.

6 Kids' Movies That Adulthood Has Totally Ruined For Me

Growing up we learn a lot of things, most of which make our lives easier. We learn there are no such things as monsters living under our beds, that bad dreams can't hurt us, and that mixing pop rocks and soda is a terrible idea. But with this newfound and hard-earned knowledge comes an inevitable demystifying of the world. Magic is all slight of hand, there are no pots of gold at the ends of rainbows, and the tooth fairy was really just our parents raiding the sofa for loose change in the middle of the night. We start to see the world differently, and sometimes that means we lose a little something of our childhood, our innocence.

I've noticed this effect particularly in the movies I used to love as a child but have now been ruined by the Pandora's box of experience that comes along with growing up. Here are just six examples of beloved movies adulthood has completely ruined for me.

As bold-faced and unapologetic as she is, Cookie's look is fantasy-inducing and fabulous, making Henson one of the best dressed women on television. See the proof and gather some inspiration from what just might be the most stylish show since Gossip Girl.

Scared Pup Rescued From Storm Drain and Reunited With Family

A couple weeks ago, a curious pup named Edgar wandered away from his home and family only to be missing for a week. In that time, the Ohio town where he lived went through numerous storms, which unfortunately Edgar is afraid of. Edgar's owner, Sean Ryan, told Today that he often lets the dog and his other rescue dog, Oscar, out to run around, knowing that they always come back. "They are good boys, but they love to sneak out," he told Today. "They'll get loose and come home on their own within a night or two."

(OC) Feel Good Story

This time, however, seven days went by and Edgar didn't return. Fortunately, luck was on Edgar's side, and Ryan found him whimpering in a storm drain. The fire department was called and Edgar was freed, suffering minor injuries. He was soon returned home to Oscar and showered with love and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Scroll through the Imgur gallery above to see Edgar's whole story in photos.

Dr. Harvey Karp Reveals the "6th S" and Why Your Baby Will Never Actually Sleep Through the Night

The only thing more precious than a newborn is the slight amount of sleep that parents get in between feedings, diaper changes, and fussy tears. Dr. Harvey Karp, author of the popular series of parenting guides, The Happiest Baby, is more than knowledgeable on the topic and has become a hero to many moms and dads trying to figure out how to get their little ones to sleep.

In his beloved book, The Happiest Baby on the Block ($15), Karp gives exhausted parents specific techniques, which he refers to as the "5 S's," to help sooth their fussy babies into a peaceful rest. Although many parents have memorized the swaddle, side or stomach position, sush, swing and suck, there's actually another "S" that many don't think about but Karp still recommends.

"The '5 Ss' are just five easy-to-remember ways to imitate the womb, but there are other Ss that are very calming to babies too," Karp explained to POPSUGAR when he stopped by for a live Facebook chat. "One that I love a lot is skin-to-skin contact. Holding your baby skin-to-skin is the most beautiful thing and not just for your baby but for yourself."

Although this technique is popular - and also recommended right after birth - Karp explains that it isn't just for moms to partake in immediately after their baby is born. According to Karp, both moms and dads should consider soothing their babies with this intimate contact to help lull them into a sound sleep. "It really is something you will remember for the rest of your life," Karp said.

However, it's just as important for people to understand how a baby sleeps before setting themselves up with the false expectations that eventually it's possible to get their baby to snooze without interruption throughout the entire night. "When people say sleeping through the night, they think it's a baby going at least six hours nonstop," Karp said. "It turns out that babies never sleep through the night and it turns out that adults never sleep through the night either."

According to Karp, we all wake up in little bits every few hours but we don't remember it unless something distracting is going on. For kids, white noise and gentle rocking helps keep distractions at bay.

"So it turns out that babies wake up too all throughout the night but if the room is totally quiet, totally still, and they are just lying there, then it's boring and they are going to wake up all of the way and they want you to come in and help them," Karp said. "But if they have sound and they are snugly wrapped up or even if they have motion, that will help keep the baby asleep better."

Instead of focusing on the concept of sleeping through the night, parents should prioritize understanding what sleep cues work best for their baby so when he or she does wake up, they very quickly go back to sleep.

Chills Uncommon Common
Aches and Pains Mild Usual and often severe
Headache Mild Common
Nasal Congestion Common Common
Sore throat Common Common

How to Avoid the Cloning Scam That's Popping Up on Facebook

Scams on the internet are nothing new, but they do become more sophisticated every now and then. One rising scam on Facebook uses your profile photo and identity to steal money from your friends and family.

The scam works like this: Someone steals your profile picture, name, and anything else on your profile that describes who you are. They use that information to create an entirely new profile and send friend requests to anyone who was previously your friend. Once your friends accept, the scammer will then chat them up on Messenger and ask for money. An example of what it can look like (but not always) is below.

Of course, you can take several steps to stop this from happening. First, you can review your privacy settings on Facebook using the website's "privacy checkup" feature. You can also start to think more carefully about what you post on Facebook (and social media) to prevent any of this from happening.

The lesson here: always be careful of what you post and who you agree to send money to on the internet.

The Ancient Practice That Can Ease Your Dog's Nerves

After spending decades researching music and frequencies in order to learn how they affect people, Wholetones creator Michael Tyrrell came to a surprising conclusion: music also has a huge impact on our pets. It can ease separation anxiety, alleviate nervous behavior, and lessen incessant barking, according to Tyrrell. But there's a winning formula for the music in order for it to really work for us and our pets, and the secret lies in the frequency.

"Animals are super sensitive to those frequencies and can pick them up even at a low volume."

In researching music, Tyrrell knew right off the bat that classical music, like that from Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven, had a particularly soothing affect on animals. But in creating music that incorporated similar frequencies, he was able to come up with a whole new concept of music that is like elevated elevator music. Seriously, the music sounds like something you'd hear in an elevator, but it won't bore you; rather, it settles you. The Wholetones collection of music relies on different frequencies to evoke different positive feelings and ease any negativity.

"Three-hundred-ninety-six seems to work like a charm for every dog so far that their owners have played that during stressful holidays," Tyrrell said when I asked him to describe his creation process.

But what even is a frequency? All music is created using a frequency, and 1 hertz means there is one sound wave cycle per second. Tyrrell's perfect music for easing anxious dogs is composed in 396 Hz, or 396 sound wave cycles per second. These things won't mean much to the average person - you just know you like how the music sounds. But what you may not know is that you're feeling the frequency whether you're aware of it or not. This is why Wholetones can be especially beneficial for dogs, because they feel frequencies slightly different from how humans do. It's like how humans can't hear dog whistles. It's because the sound is happening at a frequency that humans can't hear but dogs can.

With all that in mind, I wondered if my very old dog, Winnie, who is nearly deaf, would be able to feel the frequency of Wholetones. Tyrrell insisted that she would.

"Animals are super sensitive to those frequencies and can pick them up even at a low volume," he said. And when I told him that Winnie is an incessant barker, he suggested putting the music on for her to see if she could feel the soothing frequencies. We're still in the testing process, but I can definitely tell that she responds to it, even though she probably can't actually hear it.

Next time your pet is in a stressful situation - namely holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas -- consider putting on Wholetones to see if the soothing frequencies calm him down. Tyrrell has samples of his work on YouTube or you can purchase the collection from his website. One interesting thing to note is that there are several Wholetones clips on YouTube, some of which are in larger playlists of "soothing" music. I put one of those playlists on at my desk one day and felt really productive with my work. This could have been my imagination, yes, but whatever the case, I felt good. However, as soon as the playlist turned to another "soothing" song that wasn't Wholetones, I could immediately tell that something was off - the musicality. That's what I consider to be the best part about the Wholetones music . . . the fact that it is actually music and not just sounds strung together because the frequencies are right. This is music you'll actually feel good about listening to - and so will your pet.

The letter says, "My heart felt like broken glass until I saw you, and then, I felt like I had every Pokémon ever." Adding, "I love how you play Zelda even when people think it's weird."

Though the references might scream tween, the letter's intentions surpass age. If we're being honest, we'd love to receive a letter this heartfelt.

No makeup, costume change, or full moon is necessary to transform yourself into a terrifying werewolf or a stomach-churning zombie. Thanks to a little tech magic, you can incite fear in your friends with chilling photo effects that look a little too real, and then take their photos to zomb-ify them, too! Have a blast this Halloween with these six creepy photo apps for iOS, Android, and the web.

Websites

  • Make Me Zombie (free) - From the makers of MakeMeBabies and In20Years comes the latest in photo manipulation web technology: Make Me Zombie! Upload a photo and the site turns it into a green grotesque, bloody monster that you can then cheerfully share with friends.

10 Things I've Learned After 10 Years of Marriage

This post was originally posted on Yanira Garza and written by Yanira Garza, who is a part of POPSUGAR Select Latina.

Today is my 10-year wedding anniversary. Damn. Time flew. It seems like only yesterday, I literally was watching him walk down the hallway, hoping he didn't catch me looking. He still asks if I see him as a piece of meat. (Yes. Yes, I do.)

We made it. Some said we wouldn't (haters), but we did. Not unscathed, but we did, because we wanted to. We have both grown so much in ten years, and while we are still not experts in marriage, we figured out a few things that helped us hang on this far. Here are ten things I've learned over the years.

1. Flirt

My husband, though he doesn't admit it, is flirtatious in nature. Not necessarily a sexual type of flirtation, but he does give off a very charming vibe. People tend to gravitate towards him, and I find it very attractive that people are attracted, even if it is just to his persona - I don't need him to get a big ol' head. At the same time, he's very aware of how flirtatious he can be when he tries, and luckily, still tries with me. When in a room full of 10s, make your spouse feel like an 11 from way across the room, and you're doing it right.

2. Fight Fairly

I would love to say we fought because we were passionate, but the truth is, sometimes we fought because we were jerks. We know exactly how to push each others buttons, so if it is ever pushed, it is simply because the person doing the pushing is being a jerk. Having disagreements is natural, but being respectful helps resolve them faster. Don't be a jerk to your spouse.

3. Making Up Is Important

My husband wouldn't apologize. Ever. Even when he was wrong, especially when he was wrong. Apologies were reserved simply to apologize for my misinterpretation. Enter: eye roll. But eventually, he learned to swallow his pride at times, because the words were important to me. I learned to realize that his actions after were more important. It took me 10 years to realize that, while he doesn't like to say he is sorry, he always shows me when he is. Honestly, that matters more.

4. Make Time

We have three kids, so date nights have turned into "date evenings," where we literally just watch Netflix on the couch with snacks. But we make it a point most nights to be together, even if that means all hands on deck to pick up toys, clean the kitchen, and put our spawns to bed. We give up stereotypical gender roles to make that time.

5. Talk Sh*t

We bicker.

"You make me sick, Eddie."

"Morning sickness, Yany. Quit your nagging woman." My husband calls me Yany. You can still call me Yanira though.

Let's just say it's another way we flirt. We act like 12 year olds with each other. Have fun with your partner.

6. Balance, But Challenge

I am a helpless romantic - a huge daydreamer, a risk-taker. My husband is grounded and well-informed but sticks to his comfort zones. When I float off the ground, he holds my ankles, and in exchange, I keep him on his toes.

7. Learn to Be Still

Sometimes your spouse needs to vent, cry, or fall apart. It is not your job to fix it but to be still and allow them to be vulnerable, without judgment, criticism, or unsolicited advice. Even if you do not understand why they are falling apart, just be still.

8. Walk in Their Shoes

My husband and I see things differently. It doesn't make our perspectives any less valid, just different. Agree to disagree and move on. Except, of course, in moments when your spouse is hurt. Even if you cannot understand why they're upset, it is not your job to tell them how they should feel. If they feel wronged, find a way to make it right instead of arguing.

9. Vent Wisely

Don't go running your mouth venting about your spouse to just about anybody. There are people cheering on your failures and blocking your success. It is OK to get advice from your girlfriends if you really need it, but just make sure they are truly friends. Those issues should be addressed to your spouse.

10. You Don't Have to Be in Love

Say what?! Yep. I said it. I love my husband, but I'm not always in love. Life happens, but you have to put in that work. It can be a wink from across a crowded room, a phone call in the middle of the day to share a hilarious story, a stolen kiss on a subway platform in Paris (yes, I'm that hopeless, and it has happened), and just like that you are in love again. It's easy when to fall in love when the other person makes it easy for you to fall in love. It's the same reason I try to look and be my best. I want him to fall in love too.

The best love stories aren't the ones with a happily ever after. They are the ones that continue, page after page, with stories of imperfect beings tangled up in messes that never end. Happy 10. Holy sh*t, we made it, babe.
