6 Amazing Things Parents Don't Know About the Kidz Bop Crew
It's hard to believe that Kidz Bop has been filling family homes and cars for 15 years with kid-friendly versions of the most popular songs of the season. The group of performers representing this beloved music brand has rotated over the years, and the current Kidz Bop kids are Ashlynn Chong, Sela Hack, Grant Knoche, and Matt Martinez. In honor of their new album, Kidz Bop 33, the youngsters behind this beloved music chatted with POPSUGAR about their unique ability to unite both kids and parents with their songs. Children might love singing along with their own peers and parents may appreciate the age-appropriate twist, but there's still a lot more to appreciate about this group that many don't realize.
- They're Always Working: From rehearsals to shows and press events, no two days are the same for these young talents. They spend almost every weekend together for shows and are just as committed to their obligations during the week even though Grant recognizes that they have a lot on their plate. "We work on everything all of the time so we are constantly practicing the show, our singing, and our dancing, so it's a lot of hard work but it's also a lot of fun," Grant said.
-
They're Actually Kids!: No adults posing as teens here! Although Sela and Ashlynn are the oldest members of the group at 15 years old, Ashlynn has already been a Kidz Bop kid for the past three years. Grant and Matt are both 13 years old and have also been with the group since they were each 10 years old.
-
They Do Their Schooling Together: These kids have a dedicated tutor who teaches them during the morning and is on tour with them. While some might think that they would get sick of each other, Matt enjoys their unique schooling arrangement. "It's really cool because we get a lot of one-on-one time with our teacher, which is a lot of help," Matt said.
-
They Are Legitimately Friends: Although they spend so much time together, from the tour bus to the classroom, during their limited free time, they opt to enjoy it with one another instead of exploring on their own. From hanging out on the tour bus to going on stage, Sela realizes that the bond they've formed goes beyond friendship. "We're all like a family, we're really close with each other," Sela said.
-
They Have Some Great Advice For Kids: One of the reasons this group appears to be so passionate about what they do is because they really do love it and they hope their young fans not only see them going after their own dreams but also realize the importance of following their own. "Just love what you do because when you love what you're doing, you'll definitely be happier and have more success," Sela said.
-
They Have a Clothing Line Inspired by Them: These kids aren't just dedicated to their music, they also have some serious style! Inspired by each tween's personal fashion, Crazy 8 worked to create a new capsule collection to bring star-worthy fashion to your little one. Now kids can rock some of the same cool looks as their favorite performers with diverse items, from a bomber jackets to faux-fur pieces. Exclusively shop these cool looks here before their Nov. 7 debut!

Netflix Is Working on an "Offline Mode," but the US Probably Won't Be the First to Get It
Netflix is finally giving people what they want: a way to watch movies and TV shows offline. The company's chief content officer talked about the idea with CNBC, but don't get too excited: this feature probably won't come to the US first.
Netflix's Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos spoke to CNBC about an offline mode, specifically for places where high internet speeds do not exist. Since those areas tend to download more because of their limited internet speed, it makes sense to come up with an offline mode for them.
". . . So in those countries they have adapted their behaviors to be much more of a downloading culture," Sarandos told CNBC. "We still think for the developed world our thesis has been true but I think as we get into more and more (of the) undeveloped world and developing countries that we want to find alternatives for people to use Netflix easily."
Sarandos also told CNBC that the company is looking at the idea now, so it's unclear when and if this feature would launch. However, if you really want this feature, Amazon's Prime Instant Video lets you download certain TV shows and movies offline.

Parents Adopt 4 Kids in 24 Hours For the Most Magical Day in Adoption History
When Kaley Carling woke up on Oct. 19, she had no idea that it would be the day she and her husband officially adopted four kids in less than 24 hours. She posted her story on Reddit alongside a photo from the moment they became parents of four beautiful children. Kaley and her husband had been fostering two of the girls for over a year and the other two (twins) they adopted privately, but all four adoptions were finalized on this magical day in October.
"Our journey to get to this point has been anything but easy; health issues, infertility, failed adoptions, death. Heartbreak. And more heartbreak. Sh*t that is so crazy you couldn't make it up. It seemed like it would never end. We are here to give hope to those in a similar situation to persevere, to push through. When you feel like giving up, don't. It will all be worth it in the end...sleep deprivation and all."
Kaley and her husband's dreams came true (four times), but the road there was not easy. She explained that she suffers from both lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, which made conceiving very hard. "My husband and I decided to take a break from 'trying,' and to focus on more foster and/or adoption, something that had been a dream of mine since I was a teenager," she said.
Adoption also had its struggles, and after failed efforts, they took in two girls to foster. Haven, now 2, and Indie, now 14 months, joined the Carling family home in Utah, but nothing could have prepared them for what would happen next! In a crazy series of events, on the same day Haven and Indie came home, Kaley was contacted by a woman about adopting two more babies. Their mother was about to give birth to twins in Arizona, and after five months, Sunny and Weslie (now 9 months) came home to join the Carling family.
"We were able to finalize the adoptions for all four girls on October 19 and October 20," Kaley told Parents.com. "It was easily the best few days of our lives! The judge commented that she's never seen so much love and support in her courtroom before."
Kaley did not give up on her dreams of a big family and now she and her husband have four beautiful daughters.

This Optical Illusion Is Making Us Question Our Eyesight
A bizarre and maddening optical illusion recently went viral on Twitter and has left people (ourselves included) booking appointments with their optometrists. Twitter user Will Kerslake first shared the illusion on Sept. 11. The picture features a repeated gray pattern and 12 black dots strategically placed throughout the grid. If you look at the design, however, it's practically impossible to see all of the dots at once, as your eyes will only pick up a few at a time. Pretty frustrating, right? Try it for yourself below.
There are twelve black dots at the intersections in this image. Your brain won't let you see them all at once. http://pic.twitter.com/ig6P980LOT
- Will Kerslake (@wkerslake) September 11, 2016
The illusion is referred to as Ninio's extinction illusion, named after French scientist Jacques Ninio. This is how it works: the eye is stimulated by a few of the dots in clusters at a time and effectively ignores the rest. So if your eye is focusing on the top right corner, you'll see the dots and the rest of the image will appear to be homogeneous, like an uninterrupted continuation of the gray lines.
Naturally, the internet is freaking out. Look ahead for some choice reactions.
@wkerslake @GWillowWilson I can see two and I SWEAR I can see the others running away from me.
- Kate (@mscogsworthy) September 11, 2016
@wkerslake This is so cool. I had to make the pic bigger to see all 12...I could only see 4 at first but still not all at once! 😱😱😱😱
- WildBillWill™ (@JacksGapsRaps) September 12, 2016
@PJCavan @wkerslake @siracusa nah, I can see them as well but I've had a bottle of wine. Maybe that helps!

4 Reasons You Should Wait For the 2017 iPhone
The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are barely a few months old, but that won't stop the rumors from spreading about the 2017 iPhone. 2017 will mark the iPhone's 10th anniversary, which is why speculation about the phones expected then are already here.
The latest rumors, most of which come from a Nikkei Asian Review report, include several details that might make it worth holding off from buying the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
- Three new iPhone models: Not two, but three new iPhones will arrive in 2017. The sizes include: 4.7 inches, 5.5 inches, and one that is 5.5 inches or larger.
- Say hello to curved screens: The reason for a third model? Apple will bring a curved screen to the third one. You can find examples of a curved screen on the Samsung Galaxy 7 Edge and Note 7.
- Finally, the OLED screen: And of course, to make a curved screen reality, Apple would need to switch to OLED (organic light-emitting diode) screens - a rumor previously reported by Bloomberg. An executive at Sharp, a Japanese company that is one of Apple's suppliers, confirmed the switch in a new Nikkei Asian Review report.
- The end of the home button: A new report from Bloomberg states that the iPhone in 2017 will no longer have a home button, because Apple wants to "focus more heavily on the display."
- A new era of charging: In another leak from an Apple electronic supplier, Foxconn, a source told Nikkei Asian Review that they are testing "wireless charging modules." Whether it will make onto to phone is up to the feature's "yield rate," a way to measure how many good products were in one batch. If the wireless charging "module" has a poor yield rate, Apple could decide to nick the feature.
Of course, we'll need to wait a whole year to see what exactly Apple will create.
Harry Potter Fans, You'll Be Switching to Android When You Hear This News
At some point, every Harry Potter fan has probably used a stick or a pen to try to do some magic with. Well, even though your Hogwarts letter has yet to arrive, Google is helping you become a wizard with your Android phone.
You can use three spells on your Android phone simply by saying, "OK Google," and then one of the spells. You can turn on and off your phone's flashlight by saying "Lumos" or "Nox." Not every spell from The Standard Book of Spells is in your Android phone, but at least this is a start. You can see how it works below.
The new features are part of a promotion Google is doing with Warner Bros. before Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes to theaters. In addition to these spells, you can also visit New York in 1926 using Google Street View and see places from the movie like the Magical Congress of the USA. You can also go on a virtual adventure with Newt and all his magical creatures on Daydream View when it's out later this month.
See everything else Google's conjured up on the Fantastic Beasts webpage. What are you waiting for - grab your Android phone and start casting spells!
14 Everyday Struggles of Bilingual People
I speak 2.5 languages. I'm fluent in Spanish (my birth language) and English, and I know enough Italian to help a lost tourist in the subway. Though being able to communicate in more than one tongue has its serious benefits - there are more jobs available to me, I have an easier time when traveling abroad, some studies even say we're smarter (tooting my own horn here) - there are struggles. Boy, are there struggles.
More than once, I have spoken Spanish to someone who has no idea what I'm saying, and words have come out of my mouth in a total jumble of Spanglish that not even I understand. Minor issues, sure, but if you're bilingual, you know it doesn't end there. Keep reading for a list of the everyday situations you probably also face - bilinguals, unite!

26 Cut Crease Shadow Looks That Will Convince You to Ditch Your Smoky Eye
When it comes to adding drama to your makeup, a bold lip color is always an easy solution. But if you really want to turn heads, go beyond your black winged liner and smoky lids by enhancing your eyes using the cut crease technique.
The method made popular by Instagram pros may seem intimidating at first, but with practice (or even help from a hack), you can easily master defined eyes. When the conversation took a turn to which other A-list celeb she admires and whose closet she'd raid, Olivia said, "Blake Lively because she's always playful with her looks." After analyzing a few of Olivia and Blake's outfits, we realized the two had more in common than we thought. They both know what works for their silhouettes. In fact, on several occasions both ladies even had similar tastes in clothes, wearing almost the same outfits. Scroll on to see the duo's looks side by side and you'll understand why Olivia named Blake as her style icon.
26 Sleeveless, Ruffled, and Cutout Turtlenecks That Are Unlike Anything You Wore Last Winter
Once upon a time, we politely passed on the whole turtleneck trend, writing them off as sweaty, stuffy, and just plain boring. But then, something unexpected happened: the piece saw new life, as bloggers and It girls began working them into their wardrobes, giving us a dose of chic styling inspiration. The staple once again became a Winter must-have, but it turns out, the turtleneck wasn't done evolving. For 2016, ruffles, cutouts, and other eye-catching details have been added to the classic design, winning over our hearts - and wallets - one more time.

This Harry Potter Yoga Class Helps People Get Their Chakras Aligned With Their Wands Up
Accomplishing certain yoga poses can feel like completing a magical spell or winning a game of Quidditch. One Austin-based yoga teacher combined those two feelings into one spellbinding Harry Potter-themed class.
The onetime class was held at Circle Brewing Co., a local brewery that frequently hosts yoga classes and other events. In this installment, yoga teacher Isabel Beltran put together a creative class that incorporated wands into certain poses and encouraged attendees to wear their finest Harry Potter fitness gear. (Yes, that's a thing.)
At the end of the class, Isabel read a passage from a book in the series as attendees closed their eyes in Savasana. Afterwards, everyone was treated to thematic treats and beer from the brewery.

This Intense Workout Will Get You the Body You Want
Not every workout has to be a no-holds-barred sweat fest, but we're not going to lie: those days when you crush it at the gym are the ones that are going to help you see results fast. So pound that pre-workout shake, and take this hour-long workout with you the next time you want an effective workout.
The intense workout is one of The Biggest Loser: Australia trainer Michelle Bridges's secrets for burning calories fast, and it's not for beginners. This particular workout from Michelle's book, Total Body Transformation ($17), comes at weeks nine and 10 of her 12-week plan, so if you're new to the gym, then start off slow, modify, or try one of our beginner-friendly workouts instead. If you're up for a challenge, however, check out the workout below, learn the moves, print the workout, and get ready to burn calories and boost your metabolism.
To start, do a warmup: three minutes on the rowing machine, ending with a 500-meter (1/3-mile) sprint. Follow it up with 20 minutes on the treadmill (Michelle recommends 5 to 6 mph at 2 percent incline for 20 minutes or 10 minutes at 5 to 6 mph and 2 percent incline followed by 10 minutes at 3.5 mph at 12 percent incline.) Aim to get your heart rate up to 150 bpm by the end of your warmup. Then follow with these two circuits below, repeating each circuit three times. End with a cooldown stretch.
This workout is made for the gym, but you can modify any of these moves to suit the equipment you have at home (jog in place or use dumbbells in place of the barbell, for example).

Broken Heart? You Need Fitness - 5 Women Share Their Healing Stories
When I talked to running coach, ultramarathoner, and author of Shut Up and Run, Robin Arzon, she told us that she went through a devastating breakup the day before her first half marathon. It made us think of our own experiences dealing with heartbreak or hardship, and how fitness played a role in our healing.
"I think that movement is magic," said Robin. "I also believe that magic takes a lot of hustle, and there is so much power in movement, that it will absolutely transform you."
"Sometimes you literally just need to run through the chaos and somehow see it through on the other side. It seems like a cliché or hokey when you're just talking about it, but when you're experiencing it – that heartache - it is f***ing real. And you will cry, and you will somehow find physical power that translates into emotional fortitude."
"Not only did I get in the best shape of my life, but I healed myself and found a new ultimate passion."
Robin's advice? "I dare ANYONE going through emotional heartbreak or anything that is emotional . . . I dare you to sign up for a race that is physically challenging - a marathon, a 5K, whatever. Whatever seems daunting for you, sign up for it, and I guarantee the distraction will be welcome."
Some POPSUGAR editors have gone through a similar process, turning to exercise as a super healthy coping mechanism and distraction.
Jenny Sugar, Fitness Editor: "I was trying on wedding dresses, preparing for my big day 10 months away, when my fiance got major cold feet, told me not to order the dress, and called off the wedding. Right before my 27th birthday. We had been living together for five years and I had to cancel everything - the venue, the band, the photographer, the videographer, the florist - everything. I was broken inside, crying every day, not able to pull myself out of bed, or eat, or do anything but sob. I felt like my life was over. I was already teaching yoga and going to classes a couple times a week while we were together, and that was the one place I could go and just breathe and cry silent tears in Savasana. I fully immersed myself, going five or six times a week. Yoga brought me a newfound inner strength, a confidence and happiness I didn't know existed, and I got pretty strong physically, too. I'm a changed person, and at almost 40 years old, yoga is still a safe, comforting place for me that continues to be my therapy."
Ann-Marie Alcantara, Assistant Tech Editor: "I recently broke off a relationship that was pretty toxic and decided to go running one day. It was a nice change to run, and to feel happy from endorphins, instead of staying at home and feeling sad while watching Gilmore Girls. I decided to keep going with it, especially since I was an intern at the time, so it was a cheap enough exercise. Soon after, I signed up for a half-marathon and now I try to run whenever I can - especially if I'm feeling sad."
Quinn Keany, Assistant Celebrity Editor: "Throughout the last two years of college, I had an extremely toxic on-again, off-again relationship with someone. Few good things came out of our time together, with the exception of a very, very soft shirt that I very, very sneakily stole out of his closet, and a newfound love of running. Actually, "love" is a strong word. I hate the stitches I get in my side, gasping for breath, and how my face turns so red that I look like a giant, sweaty, lumbering tomato. Despite that, I discovered that running through the trails behind my college campus was therapeutic for me in ways that I didn't fully realize until much later. It was a way to physically release the emotions I'd gotten so used to bottling up, and gave me a place to be alone with my thoughts. I still prefer Netflix marathons to actual ones, but whenever I find myself upset or confused about something, going for a run always helps."
"You will cry, and you will somehow find physical power that translates into emotional fortitude."
Dominique Astorino, Assistant Fitness Editor: "Getting my heart broken may have been the best thing to ever happen to me, because I found an inner strength I didn't know existed. After going through the most devastating breakup of my life, I sank into a deep depression; I ended up turning to yoga any time I could get myself off the couch, and I'd stay at my studio for two or three classes on some days. I also started training for a half-marathon with one of my best friends, and it was the best distraction I could've had. With every step forward, every chaturanga push up, every inhale . . . I was crawling out of a dark hole, making myself a better person, and getting stronger - body and mind. Not only did I get in the best shape of my life, but I healed myself, found a new ultimate passion, and became a fitness writer in the process."
A 10-Year-Old Used Google Translate to Make Sure a New Student Didn't Eat Lunch Alone
Amanda Moore may be a young girl, but she has a heart and soul far beyond her years. When she saw Rafael, a new boy at school, sitting alone, she tried to talk to him but soon found out he did not understand English. She wanted to make him feel comfortable and welcome at school but did not know how to communicate with him, so she used Google Translate to write him a heartwarming letter. The letter reads, "Would you like to sit with me today? Look for me and I will show you where I sit. We can color or simply tell scary stories. Thank you for your time, signed Amanda."
Kimber Kinard was so moved by her 10-year-old's genuine act of kindness that she shared her story on Facebook. "God has blessed me with a kind child," she wrote alongside the video of Amanda reading out her letter. Moving to a new school can be incredibly difficult, especially when you don't speak the language, but Amanda did not want Rafael to be alone.
"She walked over and gave it to him, and he stared at Amanda and then he opened it up and was trying to read it," Kimber said. "When he finished reading it, his eyes were welling up with tears and then Amanda's eyes were welling up with tears. And then the whole class stood up and applauded. He stood up and he hugged her."
Amanda might not be able to communicate easily with Rafael, but it's moments like these that he will remember for the rest of his life. Parents on Facebook were amazed by Amanda's kind actions, and they bring up a very important point - compassion is something that should be praised as equally as intelligence, even on bumper stickers. Amanda, you go girl!

"Pink Eye" Makeup Is Trending on Instagram - and It's Absolutely Stunning!
Scroll through your Instagram feed (if you follow a lot of beauty bloggers!), and one thing should be apparent: pink eye is rampant! The Barbie-inspired eye color may seem unexpected for Fall (when dark colors usually reign supreme), but it's definitely a spreading movement. Think of it as a nod to October sunsets, Autumn leaves, and the flush you get from being in the cold air too long. We love it for holiday party makeup, a wedding look, or workwear.
"A playful and pretty pop of pink shadow can work to instantly brighten your look," Kelli J. Bartlett, Director of Makeup Artistry at Glamsquad, told POPSUGAR. "This trend has a youthful and energetic quality that can look dreamy or dramatic, depending on the shade and application you choose."
So let's talk about how to find the right pink so you look sick not sickly. In general, Bartlett believes all skin tones can rock a pink shadow, and the best way to find yours is trial and error. "When finding the right type of pink (cool or warm), you should consider your overall coloring (hair color, complexion, and eye color) as this will inform the type of pink that complements you best," she said. "Rich raspberries look amazing on deeper tones, while light blush can look gorgeous on fair skin."
She also has a hack if you're not ready to buy a pink palette, but still looking to experiment. "For those who aren't ready for hot pinky pink, pop your favorite blush color on your eye," she advised. "You can also test the trend by dabbing some of your favorite pink/peach lipstick (not the liquid matte kind though!) on your finger, and swiping it back and forth on your eyelid. Use your finger to buff the color into the brow bone. Try swatching on the back of your hand first to test its stain potential."
Now that you've found the right hue, make sure to wear it in a modern way. "This trend looks best when paired with minimal makeup and a lush lash," she said. "Complete your look by wearing a similar pink hue on your cheeks and lips. This is just the right amount of color-coordinating without appearing too matchy-matchy." Also: She suggests using a fluffy brush to dust a little shadow on your brow bone to give warmth to the look.
There is one place pink shadow should not go. "To avoid possibly looking sickly, focus on the upper eyelid only and steer clear of the lower waterline," she explained. "Applying on the lower lash line can make your eyelids look irritated."
Keep reading to see how women are trying the pink eye look on Instagram!
