The Allied actress stopped by the Today show on Thursday morning to promote her new World War II-era drama with the actor - who is currently embroiled in a bitter divorce and custody battle with estranged wife Angelina Jolie - and shot down rumors of an illicit romance for the second time. New Smartphone App Can Help Detect Autism in Young Children
There are many behaviors that could be early indicators of autism, but until now, there has been no way to use technology to tell if your child is showing signs of the disorder. An app has been created by scientists at the University of Buffalo that can detect if your child has autism in less than 54 seconds.
The smartphone app tracks a child's eye movement while looking at photos of social scenes in the comfort of their own home. A study was conducted by a team of researchers and Kun Woo Cho, an undergraduate student and the principal author of the study, in which they monitored 32 children ranging from age 2 to 10. According to the study, half of the children had previously been diagnosed with autism based on DSM-5 criteria, but moving forward, they will observe an additional 300-400 children. During the study, the app had an incredible 94 percent accuracy rate.
"The study found that photos of social scenes evoke the most dramatic differences in eye movement between children with and without ASD," the study said. "The eye-tracking patterns of children with ASD looking at the photos are scattered, versus a more focused pattern of children without ASD."
With autism spectrum disorder affecting one to two people per 1,000 worldwide, there is a strong need for a detection mechanism like this app. The hope is that the app will help parents with children as young as 2 years old detect if they have autism, and they will then be able to seek better treatment earlier in life.

In the Harry Potter series, Salazar Slytherin is portrayed as one of the Hogwarts founders who was extremely anti-muggleborns. But Tumblr user maglet-301 challenges that by pointing out a section in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that states how he wanted to build Hogwarts away from anyone who might compromise the safety of it. It doesn't end there. Tumblr user datvikingtho then chimed in with a comment that explained Slytherin was most likely wary of muggleborns because Hogwarts was founded during an era of witch-hunts. The other founders were also concerned but had their own reasons as to why they wanted muggleborns. For example, as datvikingtho explains, Ravenclaw wanted to bring both purebloods and muggleborns together to share magic with more people. But Slytherin, rightfully so, was afraid to follow suit. He didn't necessarily want to risk the lives of anyone by inviting someone who might be a potential spy or something worse.
Then it gets even crazier. The same user also delves into why the Chamber of Secrets was created. He or she thinks it was formed by Slytherin to protect students in case there was an attack. The basilisk could then easily get rid of whoever was trying to hurt the students.

As far as everyday couples style goes, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend don't share too many similarities. For one boy, the loss of his sippy cup wouldn't just be a sad occasion. This is a major deal that could result in hospitalization so his desperate dad is asking strangers for help.
Marc Carter's child has autism and refuses to drink from anything other than this specific Tommee Tippee cup and he has been exclusively using it for the past 12 years. This particular cup has been discontinued and it is starting to fall apart from the use so Marc took to Twitter with an emotional plea.
The dad from England explained that his son would rather end up in the hospital dehydrated than sip out of anything else. "Ben is 14 and has severe autism, he's non-verbal, and has very limited understanding," Marc wrote. "The replacements are all new and fancy, we've tried them, Ben throws them at us. The one he has doesn't have long left. In all honestly we are really worried what will happen if it falls apart completely."

Marc is asking anyone with a child to check if they have this cup in any condition and is willing to pay for it as well as postage. "Ben hasn't drunk at school since the age of 5, he doesn't drink outside of the house so we can't go anywhere," Marc wrote. "People say he will drink when he's thirsty, but two emergency trips to [the emergency room] with severe dehydration say otherwise."
Tommee Tippee let Marc know over Twitter that they have a dedicated team at their headquarters searching for any of those cups in storage and told the public that if they have the same cup at home, they will send them directly to the family free of charge. According to an update from Marc, the company was able to find one, which is amazing but not enough to last Ben for the rest of his life.
"The reality is Ben is unlikely to change, I will need these for the rest of his life. That's a lot of cups," Marc wrote. It's got to be easier to collect them now than they in 10 years, less will be around then. I don't want to appear greedy, I'm being realistic."
Marc's original tweet has gone viral with thousands sharing his message. Since it was first posted, dozens of strangers have already come up with the special blue cup and his grateful dad said that enough is on the way to hopefully last a few years.

Lyft's New Gadget Gets Rid of the Mustache While Personalizing Your Ride
Whether you loved it or hated it, you can officially say goodbye to the pink glowing mustaches on Lyft rides. The company announced on Nov. 15 a new "car connected" device called Amp, that will replace all mustaches - but make it easier to find your ride.
Here are all the details you need to know:
- Where will it first launch? Amp will first arrive to San Francisco, Las Vegas, LA, and NYC on Dec. 31 and are expected to be in every Lyft car by "mid-2017."
- What colors will it show? It will show teal, green, orange, silver, yellow, and magenta.
- How does it work? The device connects to a driver's phone through Bluetooth. You can attach the base of Amp to your car with an "adhesive" and then Amp should attach magnetically.
- How long does Amp's battery last? Up to eight hours.
- What's so special about it? The front of the device will display a certain color that will match a color the rider sees on their phone. In a busy area? Set your phone's display to the same color as the Amp and find your driver. The back of the device will show "messages pushed through a Bluetooth connection," so you can expect to it to greet you with your name, see promo codes, and more.
If the device looks familiar to you at all, it's because you might recognize it from Uber. In Dec. 2015, the company released "SPOT," a color-coding device for Uber cars to help riders easily identify which car is theirs. So far, it only exists in Seattle and is a thinner device than Amp.
