Matthew McConaughey on Wife Camila Alves: "I Like Being Under Her Spell"
We bet Camila Alves just read husband Matthew McConaughey's interview in Playboy magazine and loudly went: "Awww!" The actor opened up about his relationship with the Brazilian lifestyle expert and co-founder of Yummy Spoonfuls, describing the moment he first saw her at a bar and immediately knew she was like no one he had ever dated before.
Matthew, who now has three kids with Camila and recently revealed to Esquire that she didn't say yes to his marriage proposal right away, said: "I have been very faithful with my wife, very selfishly. I like being under her spell. I don't want to break that spell." Scroll ahead for his full account of their relationship.
"I had a time in my life when I was fine going from here to there, bam-bam-bam - healthy, fluent, single years. I had a pretty good spidey sense and got out of it without sleeping with any witches who, if I got up to take a shower, I'd be concerned they'd look through my phone or wallet - women who weren't good enough to get away with their moves because I'd be catching them out of the corner of my eye. When I saw the woman who is now my wife, I was at a club making margaritas at my table with friends. When she walked in wearing this aqua dress, I went, 'Whoa, what is that?' I didn't say, 'Who is that?' Grace, identity, constitution, beauty - where's that from? What is that? As soon as she caught my eye, a little voice goes in my head: 'This is not the kind of woman you call across the room. Boy, get your ass out of that chair.' That was a big moment. The second big moment was the morning after that night. I got her to stay in the guest bedroom of my house. She kicked me out twice when I snuck down there. I came down the stairs about 10:15 a.m., and there she was in that aqua dress, holding court, laughing and talking with my hungover, shirtless guy friends we were out with the night before, while our housekeeper dished out pancakes and eggs. From there, I drove her an hour and 10 minutes to pick up her car and never once did I feel the need to inject conversation. You can't dial up that kind of woman. I have been very faithful with my wife, very selfishly. I like being under her spell. I don't want to break that spell."
From Her Engagement to 2016, This Is Queen Letizia of Spain's Style Evolution
There's a clear difference in Queen Letizia of Spain's style from the moment it was first announced that the TV reporter (then known as Letizia Ortiz) was engaged to Prince Felipe, back in 2003, to today. During her first years as princess of Spain, Letizia kept a conservative look, wearing pantsuits, high necklines, and demure gowns, much like she did during her journalist days. But in the past couple of years, the queen has taken more risks, giving her style a modern turn in body-hugging dresses, printed skirts and pants, and Disney-worthy gowns. See the royal's transformation ahead, then check out her best moments with the king.

This Rainbow Baby's Birth Is Nothing Short of Beautiful
Some birth stories just touch you in a way you don't expect. When we came across photos of baby Liam's birth, we were originally taken with the images that Georgia-based photographer Rachel Smith shot. They're clean and crisp, and she captured every detail of the day so the family would have beautiful images to look back on as Liam grew. But it wasn't until we reached out to the photographer that we learned that Liam was a rainbow baby and that his birth was an extraspecial moment for his family.
Eighteen months earlier, Liam's parents, Erikah and Luke, were expecting a baby girl - Ailene Martina Messamer. Luke was deployed in Okinawa, Japan, when Erikah learned that baby "Ali" would be stillborn at 23 weeks and 3 days. The Red Cross worked to get Luke home in time for the birth, and after 33 hours of labor, Ali was born sleeping. A photographer from Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep captured photos of Ali and her parents so they'd have some memories to cherish.
Fast-forward 18 months and Erikah was nine months pregnant with baby Liam, whom she describes as "proof that there is life after loss." Read on to see the spectacular photos of Liam's birth and the look of pure joy on his parents' faces.
That Time Queen Letizia and Salma Hayek Were Together - and We Didn't Know Whose Outfit We Loved More
Queen Letizia is known for donning some truly gorgeous outfits while tending to her royal duties as the queen of Spain, and considering we're feeling super nostalgic this time of year, it's time for a look back at one of her sexiest LBDs to date: the sparkly cocktail dress she wore to Premios Woman in April 2015, where she just so happened to present none other than Salma Hayek with an award - making our brains basically explode because whose outfit do we look at first?
The Spanish royal showed off her toned shoulders and supershort hair in the strapless below-the-knee number, and let's just say she looked stunning beside Salma, who was wearing a coral-hued fit and flare dress with a dainty bow detail. Keep scrolling to relive the moment two of our favorite worlds (celebrity and royal) collided on stage.
Here's Another Harry Potter Detail We Can't Believe We Never Noticed Before
J.K. Rowling always surprises us with the amount of detail she poured into Harry Potter, and it feels like every day we learn something new about the series. Reddit user SunshineallDay's fan theory provides more evidence of how much Rowling hid in her books.
It might be hard to catch when you're first reading, but look a little closer and you'll see it. The fun Easter egg shows how Hermione's character learned Wizard Baruffio wasn't the most intelligent in The Sorcerer's Stone from Professor Flitwick. Later in The Order of the Phoenix, Harry and Ron are tempted to drink Baruffio's Brain Elixir before their O.W.L.s, but Hermione clearly recalls their lesson and pours the drink down the toilet. An image from the books highlighting these two passages is below.
It's a good thing Hermione confiscated it before you could buy it, Harry from harrypotter

As if we needed another reminder of how sharp Hermione is! Really, what impressed us most about this is Rowling's memory - and that we can keep rereading the books and find more fun coincidences like this.

This Is How Your Favorite Food Network Stars Bake Christmas Cookies
Christmas cookies are no easy feat - that's why you'll want to start with a trustworthy recipe. These are some of the top rated, most popular recipes from your favorite Food Network stars. Most of these are classic Christmas cookies, so you can guarantee they'll be crowd-pleasers.
Alton Brown: Sugar Cookie
According to Alton Brown, his sugar cookie recipe is the most versatile recipe on the planet. You can drop and bake them, roll them in a log and slice into icebox cookies, or roll into a thin sheet for festive cookie cutters. This is definitely my favorite recipe - I always use it as the base for my ugly Christmas sweater cookies.
Sunny Anderson: Chocolate Chip Candy Cane Cookies
Pumpkin pie spice and crushed candy canes are the two secret ingredients to transform any chocolate chip cookie recipe into a Christmassy cookie.
Giada De Laurentiis: Holiday Biscotti
Your holiday cup of coffee deserves a little slice of holiday biscotti. Giada's is full of lemon zest, pistachios, and dried cranberries. She gives it a Christmas flair by dipping it in white chocolate and sprinkling the top with red and green sugar crystals.
Patrick and Gina Neely: Spiced Gingerbread
What gives gingerbread its iconic flavor is fresh spices, brown sugar, and molasses. You'll want to top those cookies with a royal icing. Though the icing contains egg whites and fresh lemon juice, once the icing firms up atop the cookies, it's safe to store on the countertop in an airtight container.
Ina Garten: Jam Thumbprint Cookies
Ina's thumbprint cookies have one little trick: roll the dough in coconut flakes to offer a contrasting crunch and beautiful toasted presentation.
Alex Guarnaschelli: Greek Christmas Cookies
Brandy, vanilla, and whole cloves make these buttery kourambiedes (aka Greek Christmas cookies) even more agonizingly tasty.
Aarti Sequeira: Garam Masala-Chocolate Gingerbread
One way to forgo buying tons of spices is to simply buy one spice mix: garam masala. It's the key ingredient in Aarti's chocolatey gingerbread.
The 1 Shoe You Won't Be Wearing in 2017
Hate to break it to you, but it's time to break up with your classic stilettos. Look, it's not like we don't appreciate the height they lend us or their ability to elongate our legs when we slip into a favorite minidress. But enter 2017, and there are so many refreshed styles that can get the job done - and with notable flair.
In 2016, we slowly transitioned out of our shoes with a fine point, swapping them for block heels that planted us a bit more firmly on the ground. All of the silhouettes ahead are actually way more comfortable than a stiletto, and luckily, they're what everyone's wearing. Scroll to find your favorite replacement pair, or jump ahead to the category you already know you're into.

10 Simple Ways to Grow Your Social Media Presence in 2017
If 2016 was all about tasteful branding and the expansion of one's social media presence, 2017 will be the year we actually do it. With so many users out there, it may seem difficult to drastically grow your following across Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and other platforms. In actuality, all it takes is some thoughtful planning. Ahead, we've listed a few simple ways you can increase your presence . . . without actually paying for followers. (Seriously, don't do that.)
- Try posting consistently: It's easy for a tweet or Instagram photo to get lost in the feed. Increase your visibility by sticking to a consistent and regular schedule. On the other hand, you don't want to bombard your readers, but a few tweets a day and an Instagram post every two days should do the trick.
- Actually use hashtags: I know what you're thinking - this is an obvious point. If you aren't already, however, tacking on a few hashtags to every post can really affect your reach. Also, make sure to research the hashtags you're using so that they correspond to the correct hashtag that's actually trending.
- Create your own hashtag: While it's good to use hashtags that are trending across the internet, think about starting your own, too! The tag can be a witty play on your name and will group together photos with a similar theme.
- Download photo editing apps: Photography apps - like VSCO Cam and Snapseed - offer additional filters that can give your Instagram feed a cohesive and polished look. The best part? A lot of the great ones are free! For more apps, click here.
- Consider your brand: Take this tip with a grain of salt. We recognize that individuals are incredibly dynamic and multidimensional, so we wouldn't want to encourage you whittling your very being down to a singular "brand." You should, however, have your tweets and captions match your personal voice in real life. Your online presence will end up feeling more authentic as a result.
- Don't exist in a bubble: While you may be focusing on ways to improve your own presence, think about your followers and the pages that you follow. It's important to interact and engage with others to really grow your network.
- Pay attention to when you're posting: Post something new during peak hours, when people are more likely to be online. While not everyone regularly checks their feed during the workday, users are usually more active after work and later in the evenings.
- Cross-promote your many pages: This one is simple: make sure to promote all of your different handles somewhere in your bio.
- Don't be camera shy: According to social media scientist Dan Zarrella, pictures with faces in them receive more engagement than pictures without.
- Try new features early: Don't wait to jump on new features like Instagram Stories or Facebook Live. By being one of the first users to utilize new tools, you'll not only have less competition, you'll also make yourself seem ahead of the curve.

8 Things You Don't Know About Aldi, Straight From an Insider Employee
We reached out to an Aldi spokeswoman, Liz Ruggles, to find out the answers to our burning questions. How is it possible that everything is so cheap?! Turns out, there's a good reason for that and for the mandatory quarter per cart . . . oh, and for the self-bagging, too. Curious about the behind the scenes of one of the most budget-friendly grocery stores in America, one that attracts 32 million customers each month? Read ahead to get the scoop.
There's a reason prices are so low.
"We're obsessed with value, and by taking a simple approach to grocery shopping, we're able to keep our costs down. We don't have hidden expenses because we choose to save shoppers money rather than have nonessential grocery store services like in-store banking, pharmacies, and check cashing. We also skip the fancy shelving and keep our products right in their display boxes, which saves us (and our shoppers) time and money. We are dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment. So we ask our shoppers to bring their own reusable grocery bags or buy a few at checkout to use for all their trips to Aldi. At our stores, shoppers also pack their own groceries to keep our checkout lines moving."
There's a strategy behind the mandatory purchase of a cart for a quarter.
"Shoppers deposit a quarter to use a cart at our stores, and when they return the cart to the corral, they get their quarter back. This saves everyone money because our staff can focus on serving shoppers inside the store instead of collecting the carts from outside of the store. For many people, this becomes an opportunity to pay it forward. Our shoppers will often just pass their cart onto the next shopper, instead of returning it to the corral."
Aldi has in-house test kitchen chefs.
"We have in-house taste testers, aka our Aldi Test Kitchen Chefs. Our chefs hit pause on developing recipes at least twice a year to taste the quality of our products before they hit the shelves - every single Aldi product. They want to make sure our brands are as good, if not better, than the national brands."
You can return any Aldi-exclusive product for a full refund.
"We're so confident in the quality of our products that we offer a double guarantee, which means if for any reason customers don't like an Aldi-exclusive brand product, we'll give them their money back and replace the item."
Aldi donates expired foods.
"Each of our divisions has the option to contribute to local charities, donate product to causes in their areas, and encourage employees to volunteer with local community organizations. In 2015, we also grew our partnership with Feeding America to make it easier for our stores to donate expired or lightly damaged product to food banks in our communities."
The best way to save money is to buy Aldi-exclusive brands.
"Smart shoppers have found that switching from national brands to Aldi-exclusive brands can save them up to 50 percent on their grocery bill. We also have Aldi Finds - these premium food and household products are only in stores for a limited time. Product variety depends on the season, and there's usually a theme for the week's Finds. For example, starting Dec. 7, we have some great gift options."
Fresh produce is among the bestselling products.
"In 2015, our top selling products included staple items such as eggs, milk, and butter, as well as our fresh produce items such as strawberries, bananas, grapes, and oranges. Additionally, with our Never Any! product line, we offer fresh meat that never contains added antibiotics, hormones, or animal byproducts."
There's no MSG, artificial coloring, or hydrogenated oil in Aldi's products.
"Aldi got rid of added MSG, certified synthetic colors, and partially hydrogenated oils from all of our exclusive brand food products. And more than 90 percent of the products on our shelves are under our exclusive brands."

Here's How to Use Snapchat's 5 New Features - Including Creating Group Chats!
Group chats are finally coming to Snapchat in the app's latest update. Send snaps and messages to your friends in one chat, versus switching to text messaging to talk about what you just sent.
Snapchat's update is available today and easy to use. Start a group chat from the chat screen or after creating a snap. Like regular chats, whatever you send in a group chat will be deleted in 24 hours - whether or not everyone in the group has opened it. You can also use Bitmoji, stickers, voice, and video notes in the new feature.
Along with the group chat feature comes "Quick Chat." If you want to talk to a friend privately from a group chat, tap on their name and a new chat will start. This should help you avoid one of the greatest struggles of group chatting - talking to one person in a chat and blowing up everyone's phone.
In the same update, Snapchat is also introducing two new edit features and Shazam! The first new edit feature is the Scissors tool. Tap on the scissors icon, snip away at your favorite part in a snap, and a sticker will be created from it! With the new Paintbrush tool, turn any photo from your memories into a new photo that looks like it belongs in a museum. And if you're curious about a song playing near you, hold down on the camera screen in Snapchat and you'll see what song is playing - thanks to Shazam.
See what the new features look like ahead, including how to use them. These features should definitely amp up your snap game - and make you come back from using Instagram stories.

12 Things I Wish Non-Food-Allergy Moms Understood
Quite simply: moms of kids with food allergies live in a different reality than those whose kids can eat anything, anytime. It's just the truth. It's hard to explain the fear that comes with learning that a smidgen of peanut butter, a single sesame seed, or a bite of a cupcake could be fatal for your child. I also know it's equally hard to empathize unless you're dealing with it yourself - I never got it until my son was diagnosed with a life-threatening food allergy. You may not always get it either, but being more understanding never did any harm, so check out a few things that I wish nonallergy moms understood a little better.

Layer clothes, electronics, then clothes again inside a carry-on so the TSA agent can quickly see what's in there. This strategy also works better than the cram-everything-in-your-bag strategy once you unpack at your destination.
2. Wrap the cords:
A tangle of cords could look like something potentially harmful if it's viewed a certain way, which could mean a more thorough and time-consuming bag check. Wrap cords around their devices, pack chargers together in one bag (ziplocks work!), and take advantage of rubber bands and twist ties to keep them tangle-free.
3. Keep big items in your carry-on:
Not in checked bags. Laptops and DVD players have to come out of your bags at screening checkpoints, but they won't fare well in checked bags unless you're down with a TSA agent potentially digging them out.
4. But know what can stay inside:
Don't forget: tablets, ereaders, laptops, and gadgets smaller than a 13-inch laptop can stay in your carry-on. All other electronic devices need to come out.
5. Get a TSA-friendly bag:
Of course, you could just get a TSA-friendly bag for your laptop, which will glide right through the checkpoint without a problem. TSA-approved bags provide a clear and unobstructed view of the device inside through the X-ray scanner. These can be one of three styles: sleeve style, butterfly style, or trifold style. They won't have pockets, metal zippers, snaps, logos, emblems, or other branding that can obstruct the view of the laptop in the X-ray scanner, and they can only house the laptop. Other items like chargers, cables, and accessories should be packed separately.

The Chuck E. Cheese Challenge Is Like the Mannequin Challenge - Except It Requires More Skill
As the Mannequin Challenge begins its slow fade into the depths of archived internet memes, another challenge is on the rise. The new Chuck E. Cheese challenge is one that requires a bit of a nuanced explanation. Have you ever been to a Chuck E. Cheese's or aging theme park that has a hilariously dated animatronic band, one that has likely seen better days, that performs the same songs on a loop? Well, this challenge attempts to re-create just that.
The challenge appears to have started on Dec. 10 by a professional dancer who goes by BamTheDancer on Twitter. Basically, the challenge requires its participants to flaunt their creepiest and most robotic dance moves. While the internet is slowly hopping on this trend, there are still plenty of hilarious examples. Look ahead for some of our favorites.
These Frozen Gems Add Calcium to Your Smoothies
Adding liquid to your blender is a must if you're sipping smoothies for weight loss. And instead of plain old water, using ice cubes can make your smoothies colder and creamier. If you've tried the trick of adding potassium-rich coconut water ice cubes to your recipes, you're going to love this clever little smoothie hack, too.
Grab your favorite unsweetened almond milk, and use that to make ice cubes. One cup is 30 calories (regular or vanilla) and offers 45 percent of your daily recommended calcium (regular milk only offers 30 percent). One cup makes about eight ice cubes (depending on the size of your tray). So if you pour half a cup of almond milk into your blender and throw in four ice cubes, you're almost halfway to your calcium intake for the day. Plus, they make your smoothie even frostier and more creamy. I've never tried this with soy milk, but I imagine it'd work just as well - but it offers slightly less calcium, 30 percent per one-cup serving.
You can keep the ice cubes in the trays or pop them out into a freezer bag. Aside from added calcium, these little frozen gems could save you money when buying almond milk in bulk. You don't have to worry about your carton going bad when you can freeze it in ice cube trays to use for later.

Macarons: Don't Confuse Them With Macaroons
It's high time we set the record straight: the word "macaron" is not an alternate spelling of macaroon. In fact, the two terms refer to distinctly different things. Both macarons and macaroons are confections, and both names are derived from ammaccare, which is Italian for "to crush" - but that's where the similarities end.
A macaron specifically refers to a meringue-based cookie made with almond flour, egg whites, and granulated and powdered sugar, then filled with buttercream, ganache or fruit curd. The delicate treat has a crunchy exterior and a weightless interior with a soft ending that's almost nougatlike in its chewiness. To add to the confusion, it's often called a French macaroon.
In contrast, the word macaroon is a generic phrase that is applied to a number of small, sweet confections. Mostly, the term is equated with the moist and dense coconut macaroon, which is composed of egg whites, sugar, and dried coconut, often piped with a star-shaped tip, and sometimes dipped in chocolate. The coconut macaroon, or congolais, as it's known in France, is frequently served during Passover because it contains no flour.
