How Aloe Vera Can Make Your Lashes Grow, Fight Hyperpigmentation, and More
While you're likely scouring department store shelves and drugstore aisles for the newest, most effective beauty potions, it's also worth digging into your garden or kitchen cabinets for powerful DIY remedies. In addition to honey and coconut oil, aloe vera is a time-honored, natural ingredient that can be used in a variety of different treatments. We've rounded up 12 ways to use the plant's soothing gel that you can easily whip up yourself with just three (or fewer) items. Read on, then watch our video on how to incorporate aloe vera into your beauty routine.
- Lash Growth Serum: If you're addicted to lash extensions, you'll want to try this natural remedy for strengthening and lengthening your fringe. Mix one teaspoon of aloe vera gel with one teaspoon of black castor oil, then apply the blend to your lashes with a clean mascara wand before bed. Be sure to do a patch test first if you have sensitive skin.
- Soothing Undereye Treatment: The plant's gel is naturally anti-inflammatory. Dab it underneath your eyes to see a reduction in puffiness.
- All-Natural Makeup Remover: Apply organic aloe vera gel to a cotton pad and swipe over your skin to clean off foundation and other products.
- Hair and Scalp Treatment: Aloe naturally contains pectin, which can fight dandruff. Liquefy fresh aloe gel in a blender and massage the potion into your scalp, then coat hair from root to tip. After leaving on overnight, rinse it out in the morning for healthier hair.
- Acne Fighter: Rub the inside of a fresh aloe leaf across clean skin to banish blemish-causing bacteria.
- Hyperpigmentation-Fading Solution: Aloe is packed with vitamin C, which brightens dark spots. Apply dabs of gel to any acne scars or other marks on your skin nightly.
- Firming Face Mask: The vitamin E in aloe will keep your skin smooth and taut. Mix two spoonfuls of aloe vera gel with two spoonfuls of Greek yogurt (full of exfoliating lactic acid) and two spoonfuls of refreshing grated cucumber. Apply all over your face and rinse off after 20 minutes. Try it at least twice a week for a glowing complexion!
- Nail Strengthener: Blend two spoonfuls of aloe vera gel and two spoonfuls of witch hazel. Applying regularly to your nails with a cotton swab will instantly make them look shinier and strengthen them over time.
- Nourishing Lip Balm: This easy treatment will instantly soothe a parched pucker. Mix one teaspoon of liquid coconut oil with one teaspoon of aloe vera gel and one teaspoon of Vaseline. Pour into a small container and let it harden, then apply frequently with your fingertip.
- Blister Healer: To reduce pain and swelling after wearing a particularly disagreeable pair of high heels, soak a cotton ball in liquid aloe vera, apply to the blister, and secure with a bandage.
- Foot Deodorizer: Aloe actually acts as a deodorant, and by combining two tablespoons of it with with half a teaspoon of bacteria-fighting tea tree oil, you'll reduce questionable foot odor.
- Sunburn Soother: Though you've likely already used aloe for this purpose, you can transform the ingredient into an even more refreshing version of itself by freezing it. Scoop out the gel from the inside of an aloe leaf, place it into an ice cube tray, and pop this into a freezer. Lightly rub the aloe ice cubes over angry skin.

An Astonishing List of Whole Foods' Bestselling Products in 2016
We asked Whole Foods to share its bestselling products from 2016, and the grocery store responded with this list. While none of my favorite Whole Foods products made cut, a few are certainly trendy (dill pickle chips and riced cauliflower). Some are a little obvious (avocados and boneless skinless chicken breasts). Then, there's a few that will send you running toward the prepared food section (mac and cheese and freshly baked cookies). Truth is, who doesn't go to Whole Foods to stock up on essentials and end up with half a cart full of chips, pasta, cheese, and pints of ice cream? Life is about balance, and this list proves it.
1. Hass Avocados
"Avocado toast, guacamole, the smoothest thing you can put in a smoothie. Avocados were everywhere this year, and they were a top seller at WFM."
2. Apples
"Specifically, Fuji and Honeycrisp."
3. 365 Everyday Value Dill Pickle Potato Chips
"Totally addictive limited-edition chips seasoned with flavors of salt, vinegar, and dill."
4. Whole Foods Market Potato & Pea Samosas
"Featur[es] a savory combination of potatoes and peas slow-roasted in herbs and spices. Lots of folks love these, because they're a little smaller than traditional samosas, so they're not as filling."
5. Whole Foods Market Lime Italian Sparkling Water
"It has been LaCroix's year, no doubt, but our lime Italian sparkling mineral water was still a bestseller nationwide. All our Italian sparkling waters have something of a following, but this one is particularly popular."
6. 365 Everyday Value Organic Riced Cauliflower (Frozen)
"We predicted this as a trend for 2017 partially because of its success in 2016. Everyone wants carb-less rice, and this is the answer. You can also use it for pizza crust."
7. 365 Everyday Value Coconut Water
"The coconut water trend continues, and we believe its strength will encourage folks to venture out into other coconut-based products in 2017."
8. Grass-Fed Ground Beef
"This is our bestseller and a customer favorite in the meat department. Ground fresh daily by our butchers and only comes from farms certified by the Global Animal Partnership's 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating System. Last year we predicted a surge in grass-fed products all over the store for 2016 and we continue to see growth in sales of grass-fed milk, cheese, and protein bars."
9. 365 Everyday Value Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets
"An oldie but goodie. Versatile and lean chicken breast fillets are a great value. Many customers stock up and store them in the freezer before using them in anything from chicken parm to Moroccan tagines to chicken soup."
10. Farmed Salmon
"Whole Foods Market's Responsibly Farmed salmon is our number one seller in the entire seafood department. Our fishmongers report that sometimes customers are reluctant to try farmed salmon, but when they learn how we raise it and then give it a try, they're hooked. Our aquaculture standards include: No use of antibiotics, added growth hormones, and poultry and mammalian products in feed; minimizing the impacts of fish farming on the environment; no added preservatives such as sodium bisulfite, sodium tri-polyphosphate (STP), and sodium metabisulfite; farmers do not treat nets with toxic chemicals to get rid of algae and no pesticides are used; traceability from farm to store; and third-party audits."
11. Parmigiano Reggiano
"Among our customers' favorite cheeses is Parmigiano Reggiano. Each year our cheese team visits the Emilia Romagna region of Italy and selects wheels from just five producers, ensuring the authenticity of this very special cheese. Each wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano carries proof of its authenticity with an impressed rind and brand. Only cheese made in area specific area in Northern Italy - Reggio Emilia, Parma, Modena, and portions of Bologna and Mantua - can bear the Parmigiano Reggiano name. Check out the wheels getting their impressions in this IACP Award-winning video."
12. Macaroni and Cheese (Off the Hot Bar)
"Actually, hot- and salad-bar takeaway, overall, is among the top sellers across all stores, because the food is delicious, made in house, and adheres to our quality standards including no artificial preservatives, sweeteners, colors, or hydrogenated fats. The most popular dishes in Bay Area stores are macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, roasted chicken, and steamed or roasted vegetables."
13. Cookies (From the Cookie Bar)
"Whole Foods Market started selling small individual cookies a couple years ago, and the program has taken off. Selection varies depending on where you live, but cookie stands invite customers to choose from everything from chocolate chip to alfajores, crispy rice bars, and macaroons."

She Thinks Her Military Son Coming Home For the Holidays Is Exciting, But He Has a Big Surprise For Mom
Grandma Eva just had the Christmas surprise of a lifetime, but we don't think she's complaining. The Franklin, IN, woman was puttering about her home on a Sunday when she heard a knock on the door. On the other side were Miranda and Donny Goeb, her daughter-in-law and son, on leave from the Air Force base in Pearl Harbor. And while that surprise would be enough to make any mother happy for the holiday, the couple had more in store for Eva - meeting her new granddaughter, Melissa Faith!
Miranda and Donny had kept their daughter's adoption 10 days earlier a secret and flew to Indiana to share the news. And boy did they surprise the new grandmother! It turns out Miranda retired from the Air Force in September so they could begin the adoption process. They ended up adopting Melissa Faith, nicknamed Lily, from a military acquaintance. They learned they would be parents on Nov. 12, they met the birth mother on Nov. 25, and Lily arrived on Dec. 8.
"We chose not to tell our families due to so many unknowns," Miranda told WTHR. "We wanted to protect our hearts and theirs. We were taking a huge leap of faith. Once the baby Lily was officially placed with us, to become our daughter, we decided that it was not the type of news to be shared over the phone."
And thank goodness they did, because Grandma Eva's reaction is one that you don't want to miss - it is a moment of sheer, unadulterated joy! Watch it above and prepare for some happy tears!

Whoa, This Harry Potter Theory Will Change Your Entire Perspective on Slytherins
Few people admit to liking Salazar Slytherin, but that might change with a new theory floating around.
In the Harry Potter series, Salazar Slytherin is portrayed as one of the Hogwarts founders who was extremely anti-muggleborns. But Tumblr user maglet-301 challenges that by pointing out a section in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that states how he wanted to build Hogwarts away from anyone who might compromise the safety of it. See below.
It doesn't end there. Tumblr user datvikingtho then chimed in with a comment that explained Slytherin was most likely wary of muggleborns because Hogwarts was founded during an era of witch-hunts. The other founders were also concerned but had their own reasons as to why they wanted muggleborns. For example, as datvikingtho explains, Ravenclaw wanted to bring both purebloods and muggleborns together to share magic with more people. But Slytherin, rightfully so, was afraid to follow suit. He didn't necessarily want to risk the lives of anyone by inviting someone who might be a potential spy or something worse.
Then it gets even crazier. The same user also delves into why the Chamber of Secrets was created. He or she thinks it was formed by Slytherin to protect students in case there was an attack. The basilisk could then easily get rid of whoever was trying to hurt the students.
Read the entire theory below. The origins of these two posts date back to nine months ago, but a Reddit thread is finally helping others see this new side of Slytherin. It might actually change the way you completely think about everyone from Slytherin house.

Santa's Response to This Little Boy Telling Him He Has Autism Is the Sweetest Thing
There is so much we don't know about autism, which unfortunately leads some people to label and make snap judgments about children with the spectrum disorder. The Santa Claus at RiverTown Crossings Mall in Michigan, however, looks past those labels completely - his positive encounter with a little boy with autism has gone viral as a result.
For Landon, having autism is sometimes a struggle because not everyone accepts him or his personality. Landon's mom, Naomi Johnson, posted a photo to Facebook of her son's sweet encounter with Saint Nick, who told him that "he has been a very good boy being who he is," despite getting in trouble at school because people don't always understand that he has autism.
Naomi wrote that the exchange melted her mama heart: "My child is a great advocate for himself. But this day was different. He opened up to this person about who he was and he was accepted. He wasn't a science experiment, like he gets treated when most people find out he autistic. He was Landon, sitting with Santa and being told that it was OK to be himself."
This man spent just five minutes with the boy - calming him down, listening to his every word, offering positive feedback and encouragement - and those are five minutes that will stick with this family forever. For Landon and his mom, it seems that maybe Santa has already given them the best gift he can: acceptance.

We Tried Krispy Kreme's New Nutella Doughnuts, and Here's What Happened
If you are a fan of Nutella then stop everything, because Krispy Kreme just launched a new decadent treat for the holidays. It's chock-full of sweet chocolate-hazelnutty vibes. While it's called "Nutty Cocoa Ring" it's a doughnut covered in Nutella, dusted with some crispy hazelnut pieces, and drizzled with more chocolate frosting. We obviously picked up a dozen (or two) to try out ourselves!
While some Nutella fans were absolutely smitten by them, others questioned the sweetness. Here are some of the reviews from our fellow POPSUGAR staff:
"Did they use a different dough recipe? The doughnut tasted denser/cakeier."
"The doughnut is dry."
"I wish they were glazed too!"
"Pretty f*cking into this!"
"I need some milk."
"That crunch though!"
"Why are there only crunchy bits on half? It needs them all over."
"I would have liked more icing."
"Why aren't they sweet? Are they healthy doughnuts? If so, then I'd give it a 10!"
"Ferraro Rocher is my favorite candy, and these taste just like that!"
They're on sale now, and you can check the site for where to find them. Are you going to try them? Let us know your thoughts below!
I Lost My Husband 3 Days After Welcoming Our First Baby
There I sat, my 3-day-old infant in my arms, trembling in fear as chaos and horror played out in my living room. Muffled by my bedroom door were sirens, chattering voices, and screams that will forever haunt my dreams. Frozen and in a state of shock, all I could see in my mind was the lifeless face of the only man I ever intended to love, his lips white and his body lying on the floor in an unnatural state. "I couldn't feel a pulse, but he has to be alive," I told myself. A police officer slowly opened my door and disturbingly made his way to my bed. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the willing arms of family members reaching out for my infant son. As the words "He's deceased" came out of the officer's mouth, all went black.
A stray bullet is how the news reported the story, but we will never know the whole truth. The bullet that killed Justin went against pure logic and had a statistical probability of one in infinity. In a drunken stupor, my backyard neighbor fired his 9mm semi-automatic handgun. The bullet managed to travel through his screen door (dodging dozens of trees) over 200 feet to our home. It crashed through our glass door and blinds, continued across our living room, and finally stopped when it hit Justin in the head at the very second he jumped up from our sofa.
We tend to refer to the next day as "the day the music died." I had a 3-day old-baby and now a dead husband. It's been two years since that tragic day, and at 33 years old, I see myself a much sadder but wiser girl. Going through something so horrific and life-altering not only changes the way you see the world, it transforms it. Grief is a very personal thing, and while I would never claim to be an expert on coping, I do know firsthand how to live with it. I like to compare it to a scar. More specifically, an internal scar on your heart and in your mind that follows you everywhere. A dark cloud that hovers over everything good and beautiful for the rest of your life. For one to truly understand the full gravity of the situation, you have to know the story as a whole, not just the ending. Therefore, I must jump back 19 years.
I was barely a teen, a 14-year-old girl in the eighth grade, when I first met and fell in love with Justin Ayers. He could play the guitar like Jimi Hendrix and crack a joke like Jerry Seinfeld. He was a smart, talented, adorable, funny, passionate boy, and I took notice. As I think back on our love story, a specific song lyric comes to mind: "Each night I ask the stars up above, why must I be a teenager in love?" I would sob, "Why can't we just get married today?" My friends and family (with the exception of my mom) would chuckle at the idea, dismissing us as kids who would grow up and realize it's just the hormones. But I never once doubted. In 2003 (one year after I graduated high school), we finally tied the knot.
Over the next 10 years, Justin and I made our own rules in life. We had several goals we wanted to pursue, so we decided to wait to start a family, knowing we needed time to grow up. We formed multiple bands, traveled for leisure and work, and wrote and recorded an album together. It was definitely outside the norm, but it was our norm, and we savored it. Then one morning, I woke up and suddenly felt different. I wanted a baby! And Justin agreed. We'd been married for 10 years, and we both knew we were ready to become parents. We got busy between the sheets and in September 2013, I became pregnant with our son, Jax.
On June 14, 2014, I remember looking at my infant son and realizing, "I finally understand!" His hair was thick and silky, his lips were bright red, and his eyes were captivating. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, bringing a child into this world has to be one of the most incredible feelings a woman can experience in life. A few minor birthing complications cost us an extra day in the hospital, but on the third evening, we were released and went home to be a family.
We tend to refer to the next day as "the day the music died." I had a 3-day-old baby and now a dead husband. I was a brand-new mother and now a widow at only 31 years old. I never had a chance to tell Justin goodbye or tell him how much I loved him. I like to think he already knew.
We buried Justin on a Saturday, exactly one week after Jax was born. The day after his funeral, the crowds were starting to disperse, and my support system was dwindling down to a much smaller group. It seems incomprehensible to try to portray the level of darkness I slipped into. A darkness that is so scary, I wasn't "allowed" to be left alone for one second. Not even to take a shower.
Life is a series of choices, and this choice to live started with my decision to get up off the bathroom floor and feed my infant son."Jess, you OK in there?" my friend Casey hollered as she banged on the bathroom door, "Jax is crying and needs to eat. Do we need to break the door down?" Time seemed frozen as I realized it had been two hours since I'd snuck away to the bathroom, granting my first chance to be alone since losing Justin. I took it as my only opportunity to bask in my own misery. The light from the hall shone brightly under the door as I lay in a pool of tears staring at everyone's feet pacing back and forth. With the chill of the bathroom tile on my cheek being my only comfort from the pain, I decided in that moment that I was ready to completely give up. I wanted to die.
I could hear multiple voices in the hallway, all pleading for me to open the door. But in the distance I could hear a tiny voice that resonated in my heart. It was Jax, he was hungry, and I knew I was his source for food. "We are sending someone to the store for formula," my mom said to me. That was the defining moment when I had to make a choice, life or death. I realized that even though the life I'd worked so hard for was gone, I could try and start a new one. My son needed me to survive, and I needed him. It took me over 10 minutes to actually stand to my feet, but once I did, I felt a little hopeful. Life is a series of choices, and this choice to live started with my decision to get up off the bathroom floor and feed my infant son.
Over the next year, I was like a chameleon. I became so many different versions of myself that I didn't know who I was anymore. Was I Justin's wife or his widow? Was I a stay-at-home mom who used to be a musician or would I sing again? Would I ever have the opportunity to have another child? I had always wanted three. The endless questions and constant wonder consumed me from the inside out. For close to 10 months, I disappeared from any social scene, social media, or social circle that didn't include a few select people. I was hiding from the world and wasting away to nothing, a shell of my former self. Then it happened again. I looked at my now-10-month-old baby and felt ashamed. That hungry infant, once crying for mommy's milk, was now starting to talk, walk, and think. Looking at my gorgeous baby boy, I once again realized that it was time for me to make another choice between life or death.
Looking back on the last two years of my life, I realize how many choices and decisions I had to make to arrive where I'm at today. I needed to find "me" again, and that required throwing myself back into my biggest passion, which had ironically become my biggest fear: music. My love for performing and music was something I shared with Justin, and it was now something I was forced to explore on my own. By sheer circumstance, I reconnected with a former bandmate and was presented with the opportunity to fill in on a few gigs. With much hesitation, I accepted. Declining the opportunity and turning my back on what I used to love would have been the much safer bet. But I knew it would mean I would end up spending the rest of my life running away from the pain and the joy it would bring.
The roller coaster of emotions I go through during a live show are endless. However, I choose to face them every night because in the end, the good outweighs the bad. I maintain the idea though that the happiness I experience day to day is by my own choosing. Every single day I wake up like everyone else and I'm faced with a choice. Some days I hate life and choose to be sad, angry, hurt, scared, resentful, and lonely. Other days I feel blessed and choose to be happy, optimistic, thankful, forgiving, and compassionate. Each day is a new decision, and with each decision brings a new outcome. I can only hope I'm making the right choices for my future, especially for Jax's.
When I close my eyes at night, I like to tell myself three things: I will be eternally grateful for you, my mommy! I will forever worship you, my Justin! And I will always love you, my Jax!
Some of the greatest quotes in life come to us in the form of song lyrics. So, I will leave you with these words from Aerosmith: "Life's a journey, not a destination. And I just can't tell just what tomorrow brings."

Could This Theory Explain Why Dementors Are So Drawn to Harry Potter?
Throughout Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry is consistently pestered by the deathly cloaked guardians of the wizard prison: dementors. After his first few encounters with dementors cause Harry to black out and recall the sound of his mother's murder, he asks his favorite teacher (and arguably the best character in the series), Remus Lupin) why his reactions to the dementors are so strong.
Professor Lupin explains that Harry has more dark moments in his past than most people, so there is more pain for the dementors to drudge up. However, there's also another explanation for why the soul-sucking prison guardians can't seem to get enough of Harry. One Redditor laid it all out in a supershort theory that makes so much sense, it's ridiculous.
[Harry Potter] The reason Dementors are so interested in Harry is because he has 1.125 of a soul from FanTheories
Because dementors seek to suck out the souls of their prisoners, it's plausible that they are especially drawn to Harry because - as it is revealed in the last book - he actually possesses a fragment of Lord Voldemort's soul as well. When Voldemort accidentally created a horcrux out of Harry, further splitting his soul, he unintentionally implanted a bit of himself into his infant nemesis. Therefore, until he comes back to life at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry possesses not one soul, but one and one-eighth, rendering him all the more alluring to the dementors.
Do you agree with this theory? Let us know your favorite idea about Harry Potter that isn't (officially) canon in the comments!
5 Epic Online Shopping Fails That Prove Things Aren't Always What They Seem
Online shopping is one of modern technology's many gifts to humanity - except when it suddenly isn't. While it's difficult to know exactly what you're getting when you order something without physically seeing it first, most of the time it works out. Every now and then, though, things go horribly awry. For example, one shopper recently ordered skinny jeans only to find that the jeans extended way past his feet once they arrived in the mail. Look ahead for some of our favorite fails.
10 Traditions That Bring Families Together on Noche Buena
Growing up, Christmas Day was always the day when my family and I rested from Noche Buena festivities. As many Latino families do, the Christmas holiday is really celebrated on Christmas Eve with presents being opened some time after midnight. The great part about making Dec. 24 our very own is that the celebration is rooted in various special and unique traditions. Here are 10 of those celebratory Noche Buena moments to embrace on the holy night.
1. Villancicos
Of course, you know caroling is indicative of the holiday season, but in most Latin American households, villancicos (or Christmas carols) are a must, sung with the family, before midnight mass.
2. Misa de Gallo
Given that most Latin American countries have a Catholic background, Christmas is celebrated as both the commercialized holiday and the deeply religious one it is. After Christmas Eve dinner, many families go to midnight mass to celebrate Jesus' birth.
3. Lechón Asado + Caja China
While the recipes for how to make the lechón may vary, the truth is that the Caja China is a big part of Noche Buena. Cooking a lechón in a pig roasting box is a popular way to make the main dish for dinner on the night.
4. Coquito
Think eggnog but with a Puerto Rican twist. The alcoholic beverage is a staple over the holidays and how many families toast.
5. Nativity Scene
Many Latino families are anchored in the religious aspects of Christmas. On Noche Buena, or a time leading up to it, they will put out a Nativity scene, which will serve as a reminder that the night celebrates Jesus's birth. In some countries, the baby Jesus figurine is either covered or completely removed until midnight of Christmas Day.
6. Star-Shaped Piñata
In Mexico, kids are encouraged to break a star-shaped piñata on Noche Buena. The game adds a celebratory touch to the night.
7. La Novena de Aguinaldo
Nine days before Noche Buena, certain countries begin a novena, also known as nine nights of prayers. The ninth and final night of La Novena de Aguinaldo on Dec. 24 anchors faith in the religious side of Christmas.
8. Poinsettias
The beautiful red flower was adopted by Mexicans as a Christmas tradition and has since also taken the name of "Flor de Noche Buena." The flower decorates homes and church altars across the world now and is a longstanding symbol that Christmas is near.
9. Dominos
Some traditions have no true roots, other than the fact that they make us all feel good and come together. Playing dominos on Noche Buena is a longstanding part of the night that many Cuban and Puerto Rican families embrace.
10. La Polvora
While many countries have outlawed fireworks, or sparklers, it hasn't put an end to a tradition that many families participate in.
Cats vs. Christmas Trees
Since the beginning of time, one epic struggle has dominated the holiday season: cats vs. Christmas trees. So are you Team Cats or Team Christmas Trees?

Facebook Messenger Just Got an Art-Full New Makeover
Facebook unveiled a major revamp of Messenger today. Stan Chudnovsky, head of product for Messenger, said the Messenger updates and changes were motivated by the same question that typically drives him and his team to innovate: "What do people do and how do we help them to do it more?" In this case, they turned their attention to just how visual Messenger - which began as a simple text chatting tool - has become. "People are spending hours and sending hundreds of millions of photos and videos to each other every day," he told me. "So how do we help them to do more of that?" Find out how he and his team answered that question below.
They Made It Way More Visual
Facebook is offering hundreds of new stickers, frames, 3D effects, and masks in the update. You can draw on your photos or videos, add text, or pull up emoji and badges that perfectly describe how you feel. (The morning I visited Facebook, "need more coffee"-themed badges were a popular choice among our test group.) The changes make Messenger feel a little bit more fun, sure, but they also reflect how people are already using the tool. More than 2.5 billion stickers, videos, pictures, and emoji are already being sent over Messenger each day.(That said, if you just want to kick it old school and send a simple text message, you still can.) Here's an example of my first attempt playing around with some of the new tools:
You Now Can Create Art Before Starting a Conversation
This new version is so art-centric, users can now start a conversation by first creating art with the "blank canvas" feature and then sending it to a friend or friends. While these new features might be reminiscent of Snapchat and Instagram Stories, one of the big differences is that Facebook has always designed Messenger to be used for conversations between individuals and small groups - not for publishers or influencers to reach big groups or fans.
The Camera Is Faster and More Integrated
The new Messenger camera works faster, and it's much easier to access. It's never more than one tap away, and the new shutter button at the bottom of the screen looks similar to - and is just as intuitive to use - as the shutter button built into any smartphone camera. Tapping snaps a photo, while pressing and holding records video.
