Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Spent Christmas Making Everyone Jealous of Their Relationship

While you might have been slipping into a sugar coma after having one too many cookies over the holidays, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were busy having the time of their lives. With all of the ugly sweater-wearing, puppy cuddling, and cheek kissing, how could they not? The longtime on-and-off couple, who are now engaged, took group photos with Miley's family, exchanged some pretty expertly-wrapped presents, and even took some time to wish Jesus a very happy birthday. Maybe a Christmas-themed wedding is in their future?

Why You Should Ditch Your Dermatologist For Acupuncture

I suffered from debilitating migraines for years, and after experiencing countless negative side effects (and little relief) from powerful medications, I had just about given up on treatment. That is until a close friend of mine recommended her acupuncturist. She had been seeing him for about a month for her headaches, anxiety, and hormone imbalances and had nothing but glowing reviews. I quickly booked an appointment, and after regular treatments, I found that my migraines had considerably subsided, leaving me with only one or two painful days a month instead of the 15-plus days I was used to.

That's when I decided to do some digging. What couldn't acupuncture treat? Nearly nothing, as it turns out. Acupuncture is shockingly versatile, even for skin care. It's a great alternative method for aging skin and breakouts in lieu of more-invasive procedures like Botox and heavy-duty acne medications. So far, I've been blessed with clear, firm skin, but when the time comes to get more serious about my complexion, I'd rather go with preventative options over corrective ones. I sat down with my acupuncturist, Dr. Min Zhang, a practitioner for over 25 years, to get the skin care scoop.

The Cutest Nail Art You'll See All Season (Hint: Penguins)

When the weather gets chilly, there's no better way to dress up your nails than with a Winter-friendly penguin. This design wins big points in the cuteness category, but it's also a pretty easy design to freehand yourself.

I started off with the perfect winterscape hue, Formula X For Sephora in Unmistakable ($11), on all my nails. You don't even have to wait for the base color to dry before moving onto the next step: the penguin. Use an opaque black polish like Essie's Licorice ($9) to create the body of the penguin with a U-shape. Make sure to leave a little bit of the background showing. Next, you'll want to layer on the white parts of the penguin: the eyes and belly. Use an opaque white polish like Butter London Cotton Buds ($15) to paint on a smaller U-shape to create the stomach. Then, using the dotting tool from the Butter London Color Hardware Nail Art Tool Kit ($30), I created the two white eyes, and then again with the black dots for the pupils. Lastly, I used Essie Meet Me at Sunset ($9) to create the orange beak and feet using the striper brush from the same tool kit.

Lastly, to bring the chilly nail art together, I used the dotting tool to create varying sized spots on the rest of my nails to give it a snowy look. The best part about each step is that you don't have to wait for the polish to dry. However, you should try to give each layer a minute or two to set, so the colors don't run. Once you're finished, seal everything in with a top coat, but wait for five to 10 minutes, so the colors don't bleed.

Jennifer Lopez Reveals Her Secret For Flawless, Ageless Skin

2016 may have been Jennifer Lopez's best year yet and we'd like to think it has something to do with her surprising beauty secret - which is probably not what you think.

The multitalented singer and actress, who recently rocked a sheer jumpsuit at the Latin Grammys and really doesn't seem to be aging at all, told Entertainment Tonight back in November 2015 that her top beauty and mommy essential is - drum roll, please - sleep.

"Sleep is very important," she said, "I get my seven to eight hours sleep no matter what." J Lo maintains a busy schedule, but snoozing is still high up on her list of priorities - not just for herself, but for her kids Max and Emme, too. "There is a limit. You will fall down at a certain point, and mommies can't do that. Mommies have to be good for the babies at all times. They need to know that you're solid and strong and good." And there you have it! Whether you're a mom or not, it's called beauty rest for a reason, right?

Every now and then, though, things go horribly awry. For example, one shopper recently ordered skinny jeans only to find that the jeans extended way past his feet once they arrived in the mail. Look ahead for some of our favorite fails.

Welcome to Your Clean-Eating Plan For 2017

Eating clean is easy when you have all the ingredients on hand. Our 2-Week Clean-Eating Plan sets you up for success with easy-to-make and delicious recipes, printable shopping lists, and a weekly rundown of what to prep, make, and save. The plan, created by the registered dietitians Stephanie Clarke and Willow Jarosh of C&J Nutrition, focuses on whole foods - fruits, veggies, whole grains, healthy fats, and lean proteins. You'll eat three meals, a snack, and a treat daily. That's right! Eating clean doesn't mean denying yourself of foods you love. The plan is alcohol-free, but you can have your morning cup of caffeine provided you drink it without cream since the the plan is dairy-free.

The meals, with snacks and treats included, add up to about 1,600 calories per day. The carb, protein, and fat ratio is close to 50:20:30. The carbs are all whole grains so they're high in fiber. The protein is lean, and the fats are primarily plant-based. And all the food is tasty.

How the Plan Works

The 14-day plan is divided into two weeks, with a separate shopping list for each.

The first day of each week is your prep day when you wash, chop, and store the many ingredients you will be cooking with throughout the week. On your prep day and during the week, you will prepare extra servings of some ingredients to use later in the week. Talk about convenience.

While you can start the program on any day of the week, you need to follow it in sequence since this plan uses leftovers throughout each week. To help you prep and plan, we have created a rundown of the daily meals and a to-do list for each week. Think of this as your cheat sheet: print it out and put it on your fridge so you can easily follow along.

Prep Ahead For Ease

Prep days are important, and honestly, we think the commitment of planning ahead will help you stick to the program. On days one and eight, there is plenty of slicing and dicing to be done and a good amount of cooking. Plan to set aside two to three hours for prep and cook time. It's also a great idea to think about a day in the middle of the week that might work for doing a small amount of prep for the end of the week.

Tips For Success

  • Clean Out Your Fridge: Since you will be buying a bunch of fresh ingredients and then making fabulous meals with all this yummy food, you'll need ample storage for both the ingredients and the leftovers. Take some time to create space in your fridge to make this process easier. Trust us. We learned from experience.
  • Shop Early: Plan your grocery shopping day one day ahead of your prep day, if possible, since shopping and cooking all in one day can be a little daunting. And since you are only shopping once each week, you will be freezing some of the meat on the plan. Just make sure to start thawing those items the day before, but don't worry - we remind you about it in the daily rundown.
  • Bulk Bins: Shop the bulk bins to save money by ensuring you have just the amount you need and no more. Look for nuts, seeds, spices, tea, dry goods, and even chocolate in the bulk bins of your local grocery store.
  • Clear Containers: Store prepped produce and other ingredients in clear containers. The more you can see what's in the fridge, the more likely you are to eat it and not forget about it!

We're sure you have a few questions, so do check out our Frequently Asked Questions, and hopefully you will find your answers there.

How to Tell If You Have an Aggressive Child on Your Hands and If It's Actually a Bad Thing

No matter how sweet and angelic your child is, there are times you have to do a double take when you catch a glimpse of toddler fury or a surprising amount of rage for an innocent preschooler. And while kicking, screaming, and biting occasionally come with the territory of raising a tiny human, luckily for most, kids typically outgrow these antisocial tendencies and replace aggressive actions with socially appropriate behavior before age 5.

So what if you notice that your child is still displaying confrontational behavior as he or she is getting older? The American Academy of Pediatrics says that learning to manage feelings of anger and coping with frustration are crucial tasks of early childhood. It's common for little ones to struggle when they feel overwhelmed as they start to learn key problem-solving skills, but if they continue to display negative actions, it can lead to serious problems as they grow up.

If your tot displays any of the following nine signs of aggression, it's important to remember that your kid isn't maliciously trying to upset you. It's equally important for parents to remember that their children's behavior is not a direct result of their actions. If you focus on what's frustrating with the situation, it becomes difficult to see when your child is improving - which makes positive progress even harder for your child.

While aggression can be caused by genetics, modeling, and behavioral disorders, it's oftentimes a sign of a physiological delay. Kids' developing nervous systems aren't able to control their impulses as much as other children their age. For other kids, their combative outbursts are just an indication that they need to learn and practice new social skills and coping mechanisms.

If you have a rowdy little one on your hands, check out these nine signs of an aggressive child and learn what you can do about it.

Michelle Obama's Wrap Dress Would Work Anywhere, but Her Accessories Made It Perfect For Hawaii

Michelle Obama has a knack for nailing the dress code wherever she goes, so when she and the President visited the troops in Hawaii on Christmas, she knew just what to wear. Dressed in a colorblock DVF dress, the First Lady looked professional and polished enough for the speaking event, but at the same time, dressed up and festive for the holidays. Add in her hoop earrings, gold and black sandals, and stacked - plus matching! - beaded bracelets, and Michelle could have also easily fit in at a fancy, beachside restaurant. She's still on vacation, after all.

Alec Baldwin Reveals Just How Much Money He Makes For Portraying Donald Trump on SNL

Alec Baldwin has been gaining a lot of media attention for his hilarious portrayal of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live this season, but he's also gaining a pretty hefty paycheck. During an interview with The New York Times, the actor revealed that he receives $1,400 per appearance as the president-elect. He even touched on how he manages to get into character. "I see a guy who seems to pause and dig for the more precise and better language he wants to use, and never finds it," he explained. "It's the same dish - it's a grilled-cheese sandwich rhetorically over and over again." Even though his appearances on SNL will become less frequent now that he's filming a new movie, Alec did assure fans that he definitely plans on continuing his impersonation in the future.

2016: The Year I Stopped Feeling Fat

"Lose Weight!" "You're not good enough!" " You don't fit in!" These have been the most consistent messages pushed toward women from the media for the past three decades. It's no surprise then that as a size 12, I've struggled with feeling fat. But women are finally starting to wise up, myself included. 2016 has been huge for body acceptance, and although it may seem like not all that much has changed, you can hear the wheels starting to creek.

Trust me, I should know! When I started The12ishStyle, I had no idea what to expect. Was anyone out there? Would anyone care? Almost instantly it was clear that yes, so many women felt like I did: ignored by fashion and uninspired. A little over one year in as a blogger, the feedback and engagement has been beyond what I ever expected. I see women finally appreciating their own body types and feeling empowered to wear something they didn't think they could wear. When a saleswoman tells me I should "try the 8" or directs me online for extended sizes, I know I'm not alone. Replacing a feeling of loneliness with one of community and empowerment has been an incredible change. Many things define me, but 2016 is the year I decided I'm not going to let "fat" be one of them.

So where did it all start? Although there were body-positive rumblings in years past, the Sports Illustrated Ashley Graham cover back in February seemed to break things wide open. Before that, I can honestly say I'd never seen anyone whose body looked even remotely like mine held up and celebrated in a mainstream way, let alone on the cover of the legendary swimsuit issue!

"Many things define me, but 2016 is the year I decided I'm not going to let 'fat' be one of them."

Her cover ended up being a much-needed wake-up call not just for myself but also for media, brands, influencers, and average-size women everywhere who were all suddenly down to join the conversation. As a result, 2016 was the first year I am actually starting to feel heard by the fashion industry I love so much. Amen to that!

Yes, there's more work to be done - shopping above a size 10 will still make you crazy, for instance - but before we get into 2017, let's pause to recap just how far size inclusivity has come this past year.

Graham wasn't 2016's only plus-size cover girl, with Women's Running magazine tapping Nadia Aboulhosn for their April cover. The accompanying article tied body positivity and self-love to running faster. Genius.

Mass retailer Lane Bryant finally responded to a general outcry for more fashionable clothing, announcing a collaboration with designer Prabal Gurung whose clothing previously has never been available above a size 10. It launches March 2017 - mark your calendar!

"Replacing a feeling of loneliness with one of community and empowerment has been an incredible change."

Speaking of designers, Christian Siriano stepped in to dress Leslie Jones for her July Ghostbusters premier after she tweeted she was unable to find anyone to dress her. Her floor-length red dress was uh-mazing.

Other celebs got in on the conversation too. Khloé Kardashian turned her mega star power to the world of denim with her line Good American, featuring sizes 00-24. Zendaya launched her clothing line with inclusive sizing as well, saying "Offering a limited size range is not even something that would cross my mind . . . because I just want everybody to feel included." YES.

The King of Make It Work, Tim Gunn called out the fashion industry for not making it work for plus size ladies in a compelling op-ed for the Washington Post.

While we're still waiting for most mass brands to get Gunn's memo (the exception being Target's highly shoppable WhoWhatWear collab), under-the-radar brands like Phylyda, Floravere, Universal Standard, and Of Mercer led the way with inclusive sizing.

Image Source: Getty / VALERIE MACON

And media outlets also got in on the action. Refinery29 launched their 67 Percent Project a commitment to making 67 Percent of the bodies they show plus-size as a way to reflect the population, with a September symposium on the topic. Meanwhile, Glamour Magazine launched a special plus-size issue featuring all clothing in size 12 and up.

For me, the biggest impact of all was felt in the world of social media. From bloggers like myself to models to influencers, average-size women everywhere are creating their own platforms and finding an engaged audience eager to connect. Amy Schumer posted #NoThighGapNoProblem at the Met Gala. Gigi Hadid responded to body shamers and encouraged acceptance. Women were encouraged to drop the towel at the beach and show of their as-is body as their "beach body." Looking ahead to 2017, I'm excited for another big year and you can bet social media will be leading the way.

Everything That Happens at the End of This Year's Big Space Romance, Passengers

Warning: spoilers below!

Upon first look, Passengers seems like a sweet movie. Based on what we see in the trailers, Jim (Chris Pratt) and Aurora (Jennifer Lawrence) both accidentally wake up due to an unfortunate spaceship malfunction and make the best of their new lives in outer space together. There's space frolicking! There's a space date! There's space sex! Everything seems pretty hunky-dory. Sure, the trailers also hint at the big crisis in the film as well: that the spaceship is malfunctioning and it's up to these two to save themselves and everyone else, lest the whole thing be blown to smithereens. While the bare-bones plot is evident, the trailers don't give you a full scope of the story. Here's how everything goes down.

Jim is actually the only passenger to wake up due to the malfunction. He quickly realizes he's all by himself, and the huge spaceship basically turns into a one-man playground. He plays basketball and video games all day, he treats himself to the finest meals that are in his customer package, he goes out into space, and he tries to get back to sleep. After a year of loneliness, solitude, and eventual hopelessness, he happens upon Aurora, who still sleeps soundly in her pod. For some reason, Jim latches on to Aurora out of the thousands and thousands of other passengers, and after a month or so of painful deliberation, he wakes her up on purpose.

While there is a honeymoon period, probably a year, when the couple is happy, Aurora soon discovers what Jim's done. She's devastated, heartbroken, and unwilling to forgive him. They seem doomed to live out their lives separately on this hopeless ship, until the captain (Laurence Fishburne) suddenly wakes up. His pod has riddled him with cancer and 200 other crazy body abnormalities, so he only lives long enough to tell Jim and Aurora to fix the ship, and to give them the proper clearance to access everything. They find out a huge rock has broken through the shield and has messed up a crucial part of the ship. They need to fix the nuclear reactor to get everything back on track.

Jim and Aurora save the day. Jim has to go outside to open a door that will vent out all the built-up heat in the reactor (blah, blah, science), and he nearly dies in the process. Aurora manages to rescue him and save him at the very last second. The two fix the ship, and all is forgiven. Jim realizes that a advanced hospital bed in the medical center has the ability to simulate the same sleep that the pods cause. In essence, Aurora could go back to sleep and wake up with everyone else in 90 years. And she decides not to.

Sure, Aurora has the right to make this choice, but it's hard not to think about it in the context of her character. She's an aspiring writer who hopes to be the next big voice of her generation. She has a goal: to be the first person to travel to this distant planet and back, and to live to tell her tale. She hates Jim for taking this life away from her. By the end, the fact that she's fallen in love with him feels more like Stockholm's syndrome than a change of heart. Aurora gives up everything for the man who woke her up against her will and, more or less, ruined her life. Because it's so romantic, right?

For those of you headed to warmer climes (either for the holidays or for your sanity), there's only one stressor in the way of your daiquiri: TSA requirements. Senior Dog Joins His Human's Wedding Before Passing Away a Few Days Later

Charlie Bear was an integral part of Kelly O'Connell's life for 15 years. She knew her time with him was drawing to a close when he was diagnosed with cancer last year and his health rapidly declined. But Charlie knew he couldn't let go until he saw his human get married to the love of her life and be a part of her big day.

Kelly found Charlie when he was just 12 weeks old, according to BuzzFeed. She brought him home and they've been best friends ever since. And when Kelly met her future husband and his sons, Charlie fit seamlessly into their lives, making them a happy family unit.

When it came time for the wedding, Kelly knew she wanted Charlie there, but she was concerned that his declining health would take him from her before she could walk down the aisle. But Charlie held on and made it down the aisle to Kelly on her wedding day Sept. 1. Kelly said she "immediately broke down" when Charlie walked down the aisle to her.

Kelly said she could "see it in his eyes" that Charlie held on in his final days for her. Kelly had to put Charlie down just a short week later, on Sept. 9, in their home. "It was a phenomenal moment," she said. "It was a phenomenal 15 years. That's for sure."

2 Girls Got Build-a-Bears With Their Late Grandpa's Voice in Them After His Tragic Passing

Jennifer, Mariana, and Sarahy Ramos tragically lost their grandfather, Florencio Jimenez, over a year ago when he died of a stroke during a robbery at a car wash he was at. His granddaughters were very close to him, so this year their aunt surprised them with a little piece of their grandpa that they could hold onto forever. Sixteen-year-old Jennifer took to Twitter to post a video of her two younger sisters opening up seemingly ordinary Build-a-Bears on Christmas Eve, and the internet is collectively weeping over the clip.

In the video, Mariana opens her bear first, and after being prompted to squeeze the bear's hand she hears the voice and laugh of her beloved grandfather come out of the stuffed toy, which causes her to immediately start sobbing. Sarahy then pushes the button in the hand of her bear and hears another recording of his voice, and similarly breaks down. Needless to say, these sweet bears were a silver lining to a Christmas without Jimenez for his adorable granddaughters.

Carrie Fisher Is Now in "Stable Condition" According to Mother Debbie Reynolds

This post has been updated with new information.

Carrie Fisher was hospitalized after a heart attack on a plane on Friday. The actress's brother, Todd Fisher, told AP that she was receiving treatment in an intensive care unit after suffering the medical emergency, but did not classify her current condition or what caused the heart attack. Carrie's mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, provided an update via her Facebook page on Sunday letting everyone know that her daughter is now stable. "If there is any change, the family will share the information at that time," she said. "To all her friends and fans, I thank you all for your prayers and good wishes."

According to multiple outlets, the 60-year-old Star Wars actress was on a flight from London to LAX when the incident occurred. Airport police confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that they responded to someone with a medical emergency on a plane around 1 p.m. on Friday, and several Twitter users used social media to say that Carrie was taken off the plane by EMTs after United Airlines staff and passengers attempted to revive her.

Carrie Fisher is well-known for portraying Princess Leia in the Star Wars films. She most recently reprised the iconic role for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens alongside Harrison Ford and has also over the years starred on TV and in plays and written a handful of bestselling books. She is the daughter of Hollywood icons Debbie Reynolds and Eddie Fisher and is the mother of Scream Queens actress Billie Lourd.

We will continue to update this post with more details.

9 Things to Cut Out in 2017 to Be Healthy

It's time for New Year's resolutions, and we know many of you are planning on cutting back on the unhealthy things in your life. But that doesn't always mean junk food or sweets - we've got some habits that might be holding you back from your healthy goals that you should definitely consider eliminating this year.

Here's what we're cutting out in 2017 to have our healthiest year yet.

  1. Negative self-talk: Stop being mean to yourself. Just stop. You are enough! You ARE strong! You're capable. Start giving yourself more compliments, and make this year about no negative self-talk - ever. The more you berate and degrade yourself, the harder your year will be; you'll also have a much harder time reaching your healthy goals.
  2. Your scale: Look, quantifiable goals are great, but the scale can be an evil enemy, and doctors agree! If you've been obsessed with the scale and every decimal point on your weight, it's time for that thing to go. In the trash. Forever. Remember that a number on a scale doesn't reflect the hard work you're putting in, and the numbers absolutely do not define you.
  3. Workouts you hate: Not everyone likes running, and that's OK. Forcing yourself into a workout that you hate definitely won't encourage you to keep working out. There are alternatives to running - and so many other kinds of cardio exercises. If you hate bootcamp classes, try barre. Hate barre? Stop doing it! Try yoga. If something's not working, try a new studio or new instructor. Keep going until you find something that clicks, but absolutely do not keep going to a class or attempting a workout you don't like.
  4. Exercising to "fix" or change a part of your body: Working out because you "hate" your body is the worst thing you can do. Exercise makes you feel good - it celebrates your body, makes you feel empowered, and sends a rush of feel-good endorphins through your body. Working out will boost your energy, improve your health, and can change your mood for the better, alongside so many other benefits. Celebrate your body, don't try to "fix" it.
  5. Kale (or that one food you just can't stand): A lot of you hate kale. So stop forcing it! You don't need kale to be healthy! Maybe it's not kale, but it's another healthy food you've been forcing yourself to eat under the pretense that it's healthy and you "need it" to be healthy yourself. This just isn't true, and if your diet consists of things you don't love, you're not going to stay on that diet for very long. For a more sustainable diet, experiment more with other healthy foods to find out what you do love. You'll be eating healthier all the time!
  6. Perfectionism: Striving for a goal is great; striving for perfection is unhealthy. Giving yourself unrealistic or unattainable goals is detrimental to your mental and your physical health. That desire for perfectionism can often be a defense mechanism, when you're either consciously or subconsciously protecting yourself from the judgment of others. Focus that energy on progress, not perfection, and you'll have a much better year.
  7. Calorie counting: This year, stop obsessing over calories - especially if it has created a negative relationship with food. Food is fuel, and we need calories to have strong muscles, bones, and a functioning body! There are so many ways to track your food and eat healthy without calorie counting. If you need the data and numbers to stay in control of your healthy eating, try looking into counting macros - you'll have a healthy balance of protein, fats, and carbohydrates each day.
  8. Stress: Whether you have clinical anxiety or you've been stressing way too much in 2016, your compromised mental health can have a seriously negative impact on your health. Stress can cause weight gain, bloating, physical pain, skin problems, and more. Quite a setback for your healthiest year yet, right? To relax and cut out stress in 2017, get yourself a great therapist, or try a self-care practice like diffusing essential oils.
  9. Everything that is holding you back: What is keeping you from being your best self and living your best life? Is it an unhealthy relationship, a terrible job that drains you of your energy, or a deep-seated fear? Let. It. Go. Cut the people out who don't support you. Say goodbye to work that doesn't make you feel good - or worse, makes you feel bad. Remove unnecessary obligations that keep you from reaching your physical, mental, and personal goals. This is YOUR time! Replace these things with activities that help you reach your goals, a job that fosters your creativity and empowers you, and relationships with people who build you up.

The 18 Saddest TV Deaths We Were Forced to Mourn in 2016

In many ways, 2016 has been a rough year. This is especially true in the world of television, because we've lost so many beloved characters over the course of these months. The beginning of the year was rocky with a dead House of Cards favorite and too many deaths to count in the sixth season of Game of Thrones. More recently, we sobbed over Glenn and his final words to Maggie, plus some major upheaval on Scream Queens (which, in retrospect, we should have anticipated). Oh, but the grief doesn't stop there.

This Woman's Magical Rainbow Braids Will Inspire Your Next Colorful Look

It's hard not to notice someone with rainbow hair . . . especially when said hair is colorful waist-length plaits. Influencer and entrepreneur Amina Mucciolo (also known as the TasselFairy rocks ultralong yarn braids that she plaits herself with material purchased from the craft store. A full head can take up to 30 hours to weave. But as she told POPSUGAR Beauty, she loves color so much, the time commitment is "absolutely" worth it. (In fact, she declares pink is basically her version of neutral.)

The yarn braids aren't just fabulous, though: they're also functional. They actually work as a protective style, keeping ends tucked away and preventing breakage. That means when Amina takes out the yarn, her hair underneath is even healthier and longer - so she can experiment with it even more. She has also dabbled with rainbow dye and natural hair extensions.

In an ITV documentary, Prince Harry in Africa, the famous royal recalls how he repressed his feelings after the accident when he was just 12 years old. Even though his mother is no longer with him, he has carried on her legacy in his philanthropic work, including preventing and destigmatizing AIDS, which she was a big advocate for. These Crucial Rogue One Scenes Were in the Trailers, but Not the Final Film

If you've already seen Rogue One, the latest addition to the Star Wars universe, chances are a few things have happened. On one hand, you're probably freaking out over all the exceptional goodies featured in the film. I mean, between the inclusion of Darth Vader, the cameo appearance by R2-D2 and C-3PO, and the remarkable digital rendering of Peter Cushing, it's hard not to be utterly delighted. And don't even get us started on that surprise cameo at the end. With all the excitement and intergalactic magic that so seamlessly ties right into A New Hope, though, we have a bone to pick. It all ties back to the first looks we got of the film.

If you're like us, you'll remember that there were quite a few extensive trailers for the film, each of which we may or may not have watched dozens of times. After seeing the movie, it's become painfully obvious that a ton of the footage we saw in advance didn't even make it into the final cut of the film. These are no small omissions, either. Before we delve into what could have been, someone has graciously made a supercut of every shot that's missing in the movie. Check it out below.

To me, the most striking exclusion from the film is that haunting quote from Saw Gerrera. "What will you do when they catch you? What will you do if they break you?" he asks. "If you continue to fight, what will you become?" The sentiment seems to feed heavily into one of the most prominent themes in the Star Wars universe: that there's a lot of gray area between good and evil, that the Dark Side has a strong pull, and that the good guys don't always stay good. In fact, this quote was so impactful, it fueled one huge theory: that Jyn Erso could become Captain Phasma. By now, having seen the film, we know Jyn does not become Captain Phasma. With such heavy hinting in the trailers, it's pretty disappointing that all of the vague foreshadowing has been unraveled.

There's something else that's particularly compelling: it seems there's an alternate ending hidden within the trailers as well. In one scene, Jyn Erso and Captain Cassian are running on the beach, and Jyn has the plans for the Death Star in hand. In another shot, Lieutenant Krennic strolls along the beach with his white cape flapping magnificently behind him. In one more, a TIE fighter stands between Jyn and the satellite controls.

In the final cut of Rogue One, we get a much different final sequence. Jyn makes it to the controls uninterrupted, and Krennic intercepts her on her way back. Cassian puts him out of commission up on the tower, and he and Jyn barely make it down to the ground before the planet explodes. Was there another version of the final sequence where Jyn and Cassian and Krennic take their chase down to the beach? Is it possible there was an alternate version in which some of the Rogue One rebels survive? It seems the speculation will have to remain that way for now. Even so, we can't help but wonder what secrets may come to light as time goes on.

How to Deal With Your Child's Public Meltdown Without Causing a Major Scene

It's the moment that every parent hates: you're out at a restaurant or a store with your child, and they decide to throw (what feels like) an epic meltdown in the most public place possible. Elaine Rose Glickman, author of Your Kid's a Brat and It's All Your Fault, is a firm believer that your child's desire to express their frustration, and your own desire to accomplish a task, do not trump the right of other people to have a pleasant experience. She chatted with POPSUGAR about how to avoid this dreaded situation. Whether you can sense the bout of bad behavior coming on or are feeling helpless about what to do when it starts, this advice can be a game changer in the heat of the moment.

  1. Keep your cool: Remind yourself that every parent has been in this position at one point, and if they haven't yet, it's only a matter of time. Dig deep to stay calm, because how you handle their fit in public will impact how they act while you two are out together in the future.
  2. Remember that you have a responsibility: Keep in mind that when you take your child out in public, you not only have a responsibility to them but also to the people around you. While it might be easier (and more time effective) to ignore their bad behavior, you must take action.
  3. Distract your child: If you are out with your child and you can tell that a meltdown is brewing, try distracting them before things get out of hand. Whether you avoid an aisle, offer to play a game, or assign them a helpful task, switching gears in their mind can be a lifesaver for you.
  4. Be positive: If you can see that your child is about to start screaming about something they want, cut them off by complimenting them on the great behavior they've been exhibiting and offer them a potential treat when you get home if they keep it up. Now you've got them feeling good about themselves and thinking ahead. "You've been able to distract them," said Glickman. "You stave off the tantrum without having to use an angry voice, without being embarrassed, without having to do anything but being positive."
  5. Remove them from the situation: If preventing the tantrum fails, it can be very helpful to move away from where they are melting down. Even if it's inconvenient, take your child outside and stay outside until he or she can compose him or herself. "It's not fair to keep a screaming child in the grocery store just because it's more convenient for you," Glickman added. "It teaches the children that they can behave however they want. That's not the person you want to be - someone who is just so inconsiderate of other people who are around you."
  6. Look for the cause: Sometimes kids are throwing tantrums for no reason, but sometimes they're just really overwhelmed. They could be hungry or tired, or something entirely different could be setting them off. If you get them out of the grocery store, if you get them out of the restaurant, sometimes just being out of that environment will get them to calm down and will let you connect with them and understand what's wrong so that you can solve the problem without having to abandon the rest of your outing.
  7. Don't let them manipulate you: Take precautions to make sure that the behavior won't be repeated. If your little one is throwing a tantrum because they don't want to be at the restaurant or at the grocery store - and they're acting out in a manipulative kind of way - then you have to be careful. By taking the child out of the grocery store, you've given the child what they want. They want to get out of the store and now they're out of the store, so be sure not to cave into their bad behavior and simply go home once they calm down outside.

This Is the Diet to Go On If You Want to Lose Weight (According to Harvard Researchers)

If you want to lose weight, what's on your plate is often more important than the minutes you spend in the gym. And if you want to see the most change, a 2015 study from Harvard says you should be cutting carbs, not fat.

For the study, published in PLoS One, researchers from Harvard and Brigham and Women's Hospital reviewed 53 randomized trials of over 68,000 patients who had been assigned to either low-fat or low-carb diets. They found that low-carb diets were consistently better at helping patients lose weight than low-fat diets; the participants on the low-carb diets lost 2.5 pounds more than those on low-fat diets, with the average weight loss among all groups at about six pounds.

This latest study on the weight-loss benefits of a low-carb diet adds further evidence that if you want to lose weight, ditching bread - not olive oil - can help you see success. Another recent study, for example, showed that dieters who ate fewer than 40 grams of carbohydrates per day lost about eight pounds more than dieters who were put on a low-fat diet. Other studies have shown that high-carb diets may be the real heart-disease culprit, not saturated fat. All in all, this new review is a good reminder that if you want to lose weight, you should choose a diet rich in healthy fats, lean proteins, and fresh produce. Of course, not all fats are created equal - find out which healthy fats you should be incorporating into your diet here.
