Here's a Map With WiFi Passwords For Airports All Around the World

Anyone who goes on a vacation or travels for work knows that sitting around in an airport can feel like years. Some airports charge for WiFi, and in others it works so slowly. Never worry about that again with this map and app that has the WiFi passwords for airports all over the world.

Created by Anil Polat, a self-proclaimed "digital nomad" and writer who runs foXnoMad, a travel blog, the map has WiFi passwords to airports, and includes instructions on how to access it. In some cases, the map also includes how long the free WiFi lasts. It's updated regularly and Polat encourages readers of his blog to submit any new information or WiFi spots they find. If you don't want to bookmark the page where this map exists, download the app, WiFox, in three forms: iOS, Android, or Amazon. You can check out the map below.

Keep this map handy for the next time you're on a long layover or get stuck in an airport; you won't regret it one bit.

These Crucial Rogue One Scenes Were in the Trailers, but Not the Final Film

If you've already seen Rogue One, the latest addition to the Star Wars universe, chances are a few things have happened. On one hand, you're probably freaking out over all the exceptional goodies featured in the film. I mean, between the inclusion of Darth Vader, the cameo appearance by R2-D2 and C-3PO, and the remarkable digital rendering of Peter Cushing, it's hard not to be utterly delighted. And don't even get us started on that surprise cameo at the end. With all the excitement and intergalactic magic that so seamlessly ties right into A New Hope, though, we have a bone to pick. It all ties back to the first looks we got of the film.

If you're like us, you'll remember that there were quite a few extensive trailers for the film, each of which we may or may not have watched dozens of times. After seeing the movie, it's become painfully obvious that a ton of the footage we saw in advance didn't even make it into the final cut of the film. These are no small omissions, either. Before we delve into what could have been, someone has graciously made a supercut of every shot that's missing in the movie. Check it out below.

To me, the most striking exclusion from the film is that haunting quote from Saw Gerrera. "What will you do when they catch you? What will you do if they break you?" he asks. "If you continue to fight, what will you become?" The sentiment seems to feed heavily into one of the most prominent themes in the Star Wars universe: that there's a lot of gray area between good and evil, that the Dark Side has a strong pull, and that the good guys don't always stay good. In fact, this quote was so impactful, it fueled one huge theory: that Jyn Erso could become Captain Phasma. By now, having seen the film, we know Jyn does not become Captain Phasma. With such heavy hinting in the trailers, it's pretty disappointing that all of the vague foreshadowing has been unraveled.

There's something else that's particularly compelling: it seems there's an alternate ending hidden within the trailers as well. In one scene, Jyn Erso and Captain Cassian are running on the beach, and Jyn has the plans for the Death Star in hand. In another shot, Lieutenant Krennic strolls along the beach with his white cape flapping magnificently behind him. In one more, a TIE fighter stands between Jyn and the satellite controls.

In the final cut of Rogue One, we get a much different final sequence. Jyn makes it to the controls uninterrupted, and Krennic intercepts her on her way back. Cassian puts him out of commission up on the tower, and he and Jyn barely make it down to the ground before the planet explodes. Was there another version of the final sequence where Jyn and Cassian and Krennic take their chase down to the beach? Is it possible there was an alternate version in which some of the Rogue One rebels survive? It seems the speculation will have to remain that way for now. Even so, we can't help but wonder what secrets may come to light as time goes on.

How 1 Mom Suddenly Knew She Was Done Having Kids

Last week my sister-in-law and her husband brought their newborn baby over for a visit. They were about an hour and a half late, because newborn. I mention this only because it will be an important part of the story later.

"Do you miss this?" my brother-in-law asked, his glassy, sleep-deprived eyes shifting to his 3-week-old baby in my arms. I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or looking for me to reassure him that it gets better. Either way, maybe I should have taken longer than half a second to give my answer, and maybe that answer shouldn't have been, "GOD no! You couldn't pay me enough money to deal with this sh*t again." I laughed, the baby barfed on my shirt, and then we all had dinner.

My response to this question wasn't always so emphatic. When I was pregnant with our third baby, my husband was on a mission to convince me to get my tubes tied after she was born. I was scheduled for a C-section and his argument was: "They're all up in there anyway. What's two more little snips once they're already elbow deep in your guts?"

The truth was that 99.9 percent of me was positive I was done having kids, but that 0.1 percent was a powerful sumb*tch. For me, that tiny percentage reasoned that closing the door on my childbearing years meant closing the door on my youth. Graduation, then job, then marriage, then babies, then old. After you're done having kids, all that's left is to sit around and wait to get old. I wasn't ready to do that.

However, the novelty of staying forever young wore off about a week into my daughter's life, when I realized that having multiple babies doesn't stave off old age - it accelerates it. My physical and mental boundaries were pushed to their limits trying to manage two toddlers and a newborn. I was 35 going on 116.

I remember placing her hospital photo on our wall next to her sisters' and feeling complete. I heard a small voice in my head say, "This is what my family looks like. That's it. I'm done." My mind then wandered to a new thought - a sense of finally moving forward. It was a different feeling than I'd ever had before. Almost a feeling of relief. With each baby I felt as if we were being pushed back to the starting line, and for the first time it felt as if life could at last "begin." And just like that, I knew we were done. No questions, no regrets.

"You can go ahead and make that appointment for your vasectomy now," I told my husband the next morning at breakfast. "I'm good."

He let out a noise that sounded like a cross between an annoyed sigh and a death rattle. "The doctor was right there. Already in there. Inches away," I heard him whisper through clenched teeth as he tightened his grip on the butter knife and gazed sadly at his balls.

He LOVES when I talk about his vasectomy, by the way.

Our youngest is 4 now, and I must say, not once in four years have I wistfully looked back. I shot off fireworks the day I sold my breast pump on Craigslist. Instead of spending a small fortune on diapers and formula, we go on vacations. We're not an hour and a half late to things anymore. Everyone in my family can wipe their own ass - I can't remember the last time I touched someone else's poop. And sleep . . . oh, the sleep. It is glorious.

The night my in-laws visited with their newborn, my brother-in-law asked me a question as they packed up their screaming baby and headed for the door. "Does it get any easier the second time around?"

The look on my face must have told him he wasn't going to get the answer he wanted to hear because before I could say anything he said, "And just so you know . . . you can feel free to lie to us any time."

He was right. I realized I needed to reel in the newborn horror playing out in my head or he might go out for formula one night and never come back.

But my mind flashed to the year they had ahead of them. The sleepless nights. Diaper changes galore. Relentless crying. Poop blowouts up the back. Taking two hours to get out the door. Then just when you feel like you can crawl out of your hole and take a breath, another one is born and you're dealing with all of that plus a temperamental 2-year-old she-devil. I felt like I owed him the bitter but hopeful truth.

"It does get better," I said, patting him on the shoulder. "But first it's gonna get a lot worse."

6 Best Dog Breeds For Families With Small Kids

It's not unusual for families to adopt a dog around the same time as having their own children. But are some dog breeds better suited for families with small children? We were recently asked that, so we reached out to Dr. Eva Radke, DVM, of the East San Rafael Veterinary Clinic in California to see what we could come up with.

There are various things to consider, according to Radke, aside from a dog just being a family-friendly breed. She recommends taking your own daily life into account. "Are you an active family who spends a lot of time hiking, running, and camping?" she asks. "Or do you tend to stay home cooking and enjoying movies? You will want to choose a dog whose temperament, size, and energy level best matches your family."

At the end of the day, it's also important to remember that your dog is just that: a dog. "Even the gentlest-mannered dog is still an animal with her own set of instincts and ways to express herself," Radke said. She suggests you never leave your small children unattended with the dog, just in case, and always supervise them when they're together. Your pup may always tolerate the ear and tail tugs from your kid, but you don't want to run the risk of the dog snapping one day when you aren't paying attention.

Scroll through to find six dog breeds Radke said are best suited for families, based on each breed's typical personality traits.

Your Survival Guide For Days When the Gym Is Beyond Crowded

Enjoy your treadmill runs, everyone, because the gym is about to get really crowded. As in opening day of Star Wars crowded, causing you to wonder why you even showed up to sweat in the first place. Before you throw in the towel and let the new January crowd of gym-goers deter you, take a look at these tips from the people who know best: fitness directors of gyms. Armed with their insider knowledge, you'll find that it's still possible to get in a great workout despite the insane crowds.

Before You Go: Have a Plan

Before you even step into the gym, set yourself up for success. Make sure you've packed everything you need (forgetting socks, sports bras, and hair ties is more common than you think). Word of warning: the gym is really crowded in the beginning of the year, so make sure you know exactly what you plan to do once you're there. There's nothing worse than walking around aimlessly only to find out everything is taken once you decide on your workout. Going back to the crowded part, also make sure you have a backup plan in case the machine you want is occupied or you can't find any free weights to use.

All Packed? Here's the Best Time to Go

If a room full of sweaty people freaks you out or you just want to make sure the trusty treadmill will be available to you, avoid peak times. "To beat the crowds, work out during lunch. The biggest crowds will be between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., followed by the morning rush from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.," said Mike Spiegel, East Coast regional director of fitness for Crunch Gym. If a midday workout is out of the question, try heading there later in the evening when the postwork crowd is wrapping up.

But Wait, What If Peak Times Are the Only Times I Can Go?

Don't let a crowded gym scare you away from a good workout - though you may have to compromise a little. If the lines for the elliptical and treadmill machines resemble the kind of lines you see at Disneyland, take a hard pass. Instead, use machines most people neglect, like the rowing machine or Spin bikes. Another insider tip came to us from Breann Mitchell, regional fitness director of The Bay Club. "Do your homework! If your favorite weight machine is always in use, look up free weight exercises that work the same muscles and get your reps in that way." If the gym is at peak capacity and you can't even get your hands on a pair of weights, stake out some space and give no-equipment bodyweight exercises a go.

Good Advice, but Even the Rowing Machine Has a Line

"Skip the machines and check out the group exercise classes," says Mitchell. "Most gyms offer a variety for all fitness levels." Much like your approach to cardio machines, you'll want to exercise patience and compromise with classes. If your favorite Tabata class is full, be open to the aerial yoga class being offered at the same time. The one upside of classes is that they have hard start and stop times, which makes planning easier. Try to show up for a class 10-15 minutes early to increase your chances of getting a spot, and for those days you are really in a rush, don't be afraid to leave class a little early - just be respectful of your fellow gym-goers and exit the class as quietly as possible.

Tried That, but the Classes Are PACKED

At the end of the day, you don't need a machine or teacher to help you exercise. Find a spot on the floor or in the weight room and do your own thing. Spiegel recommends it, in fact. "Cardio isn't where it's at. The machines aren't where it's at," he told POPSUGAR. "For amazing results, I highly recommend 'Iron Cardio,' which is my nickname for kettlebell training. The kettlebell is one of the best tools to accomplish an excellent base of fitness. If improved strength and conditioning, building lean muscle, burning fat, and getting workouts done with maximal efficiency in minimal time is of interest to you, look no further than the kettlebell." Spiegel stressed that to avoid injury, it's important to master the basics of using kettlebells. Get started with this basic kettlebell workout that you can even do at home.

Still Can't Find a Spot? Splurge a Little and Book a Trainer

Both of the experts we spoke to said that if all else fails, book yourself a session with a personal trainer. Doing so provides an excellent personalized workout with a dedicated space and access to equipment. You can also inquire on small group training classes, said Spiegel. "Small group training affords many of the benefits of personal training, without the hefty price tag," he said. "You will get an experience that is much more personalized than large group fitness classes yet offers a similar sense of community. Most importantly, small group training is fun."

Workout Is Done . . . but the Shower Situation Is Out. Of. Control

Congratulations! You've made it through the craziness of the gym only to be faced with the insanity of the locker room. From wearing clothing that's easy to change in and out of to mastering the art of dry shampoo, these time-saving locker-room hacks will make you the most efficient person at the gym.

What You Should Be Eating If You Want to Lose Weight

As we age and our metabolisms slow, it's easy to pack on a few pounds without realizing it. But a new study has found that making consistent changes to your eating habits can lead to big weight-loss results over time.

The study, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, followed the dietary habits of over 120,000 people for 16 years and found that those who ate foods that had a high glycemic load (which includes refined grains, starches, and sugars) gained more weight than those who ate foods with a low glycemic load (foods such as nuts, dairy, and certain fruits and vegetables). This isn't surprising or new; other research has shown that going lower on the glycemic index (GI) scale will help you lose weight. What is interesting in the new study, however, is that other key habits can mean the difference between pounds on the scale. Check out what else the researchers found about weight gain and loss:

  • Those who ate more yogurt, seafood, skinless chicken, and nuts lost the most weight; in fact, the more people ate of these foods, the less weight they gained.
  • The researchers found, however, no difference in weight gain in those who ate low-fat vs full-fat dairy.
  • Diets with more red and processed meat intake were associated with weight gain, especially when meat was paired with refined grains or starches.
  • Eating meat paired with low-GI foods, however (like vegetables), helped reduce weight gain.
  • Eating foods like eggs and cheese along with high-GI foods was linked to weight gain, while eating these foods with low-GI foods led to weight loss.

In general, the researchers found that the best diets for weight loss were high in protein-rich foods like fish, nuts, and yogurt, which helped prevent weight gain. Avoiding refined grains, starches, and sugars further helped, as did replacing red meat consumption with other protein-rich foods like eggs and cheese. It may seem like common sense, but taking the time to fill your plate with lean proteins and vegetables and other low-GI foods will help you lose or maintain weight throughout the years. 3-Year-Olds Are Kinda the Worst and Here's Why

You always hear about the "terrible twos" phase when it comes to your little ones. But no one has ever told you about when your child turns the doomed age of three. YourTango tells us exactly why three-year-olds are the new two-year-olds, and worse.

This is a worldwide epidemic.

I have two children. Before I had kids, everyone warned me about the terrible twos.

"Watch out, when your kid turns two they become wild and uncontrollable. All they say is 'no' to everything and good luck, because that year is going to suck big time."

Well, I'm here to tell you that "everyone" was wrong. Two-year olds are challenging but they're nowhere near as hard to deal with as three-year olds. After dealing with two three-year-olds in my house, they're undeniably the hardest humans on the face of the planet to negotiate with. The reason? They don't give a f*ck!

My daughter is three. No matter what I tell her to do, she doesn't f*cking care. For example, I could tell her to put her pants on. She will insist that she's absolutely not, under any circumstances, wearing those pants because they're blue.

"I want pink pants!" she will shout.

I explain to her that there are no clean pink pants. I open the drawers and show her that they don't contain pink pants. She doesn't f*cking care. She still wants the pink pants that don't exist.

This morning, she got out of bed, took a cup from the kitchen - one of those expensive, Preserve recycled cups - and threw it in the toilet. I gritted my teeth and explained to her that she wasn't to do that again. She just smiled. So I sheepishly put her in time out.

And it's not just her. My other child, Ari, acted the same way at three. He was oppositional, didn't care what I told him to do and wanted to do the opposite. In fact, I blocked out a lot of his defiant behavior because I think I was traumatized over the fact that I had absolutely no control over him.

I thought that maybe my kids were just challenging me. Maybe I'm a sh*tty parent. But no, it's not just me; this is a worldwide epidemic. All three-year olds do this to their parents. Something happens to children when they turn three. They become assh*les.

There's no other way to put it. They do whatever they want to do and they don't care if you tell them not to do it.

In fact, if you tell them to stop throwing M&Ms at the cat, they will throw more M&Ms at the cat with increasing velocity and greater intention to hit the cat in the face.

Thankfully, they don't stay assh*les for a long time. Their assh*le behavior only lasts for one year. When they turn four, they become slightly easier to negotiate with and gradually begin to respond to bribery. So there's hope.

If you're dealing with a three-year-old assh*le now, just take a deep breath and realize that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. This too shall pass ... in 12 months.

Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish Show Off Their Sweet Love at a Basketball Game on Christmas Day

Kevin Hart and Eniko Parrish enjoyed a game of basketball on Christmas Day when they watched the LA Clippers take on the LA Lakers at the Staples Center. The couple, who tied the knot in August, looked extra cheery as they shared a few loving glances while sitting courtside. While the actor dressed casual in jeans, a t-shirt, and a beige jacket, his wife looked festive in a maroon sweater dress and black boots. Not only did the two have fun taking selfies during the game, but Kevin also mingled with fellow comedian Melissa McCarthy and her husband, Ben Falcone. Of course, the best part was when Kevin took to the court to hang out with some of the players, proving how tall some of them are in the process. So cute!

This Powerful Photo of a Baby Still Connected to His Placenta Shows How Mind-Blowing Birth Is

The first moments of a baby's life are a whirlwind - so much is happening that it's almost impossible to stop and simply appreciate what has just happened. One midwife-turned-photographer, Emma Jean Nolan, took the opportunity to capture the awe-inspiring power of birth with a startlingly beautiful image. In it, a newborn baby is still connected to his placenta by his umbilical cord that is adjusted to spell out the word "love."

Her intention with the image of baby Harper, which was shot just 90 minutes after he was born last week, was to draw attention to an ancient Maori tradition of burying a newborn's placenta after their birth. Nolan wrote on Facebook:

As a Maori baby his placenta will now be returned to the land. The word 'whenua' relates to the placenta and to the land. Whenua (placenta) is returned to the whenua (land) with the pito (umbilical cord) the link between the newborn and papatuanuku (mother earth). With this affinity established, each individual fulfils the role of curator, for papatuanuku (mother earth), which remains life long.

Interestingly, Nolan told us that she'd been planning to take a photo like this for a while but "was waiting for a baby with a long enough cord to spell" the word. She said, "Once I saw how long Harper's cord was, I knew he was the right baby!"

Although this method for honoring the placenta is rare in the US, the Australian photographer's black-and-white image has gotten more than 2,500 "likes" on Facebook in less than a week, probably because it shows readers - even moms - a sight they've likely never seen before: what is actually birthed when a newborn baby enters the world.

This Tip From Scientists Will Make You Question Everything You Ever Knew About Making Coffee

A recent study has coffee-lovers questioning everything they thought they knew about brewing a simple cup at home. The study, published in Scientific Reports and titled The Effect of Bean Origin and Temperature on Grinding Roasted Coffee, found that chilling coffee beans before grinding and brewing coffee results in a more flavorful cup.

If you're like me (a self-proclaimed coffee addict), you keep your coffee in an airtight container on the countertop near your coffee maker, which results in a totally fine and tasty pot of coffee. But I just might start keeping the container in the fridge to see if it makes a difference. This study, led by a team of scientists from the University of Bath in the UK, claims that "cooling of coffee beans significantly decreases the rate of mass loss through volatile sublimation/evaporation. Thus, coffee that is ground and brewed cold could potentially demonstrate increased aroma and or flavor in the eventual brewed cup." If you don't grind your own beans at home, chilling already-ground coffee should have the same effect.

The lengthy study goes into a ton of detail and science-heavy explanations (read in full if fancy charts and particle comparisons are your thing), but the bottom line is:

Refrigerating coffee beans = a better start to your morning.

You Won't Fully Appreciate the Beauty of Adrienne Bailon's Wedding Dress Until You See Its Lace Train

On Nov. 18, Adrienne Bailon married gospel singer Israel Houghton in a glimmering wedding dress complete with a 10-foot French lace train perfect for her Parisian ceremony - and by far the most stunning gown of the year. While the custom dress couldn't have been more perfect and curve-hugging, Adrienne had actually never tried it on before committing to it!

In a video for The Real, the talk show host is seen trying on the dress for the first time in the days leading up to her big day. As she sat with cohosts Loni Love, Jeannie Mai, and Tamera Mowry, Bailon explained, "I've never tried on this dress before. I've actually never seen the dress before. I wanted something that was original. I wanted something that no other woman has ever worn." While she certainly took a big risk by only trying it on once, that risk paid off.

Look ahead for a look at Adrienne's tearful fitting and more videos from the actual wedding.

Your Kid Is Going to Suck at a Lot of Things, and That's Great

The following was syndicated from Mommyish for The Fatherly Forum, a community of parents and influencers with insights about work, family, and life.

Like all parents, I have the most adorable child in the world. When you think about it, we all have the most adorable child in the world, which is a weird coincidence, right? As soon as your kid flops their body from stomach to back, you begin to wonder how your life will change now that it's clear your child is not just the most adorable, but quite possibly a prodigy or genius to boot.

Obviously, this wears off. If your kid is still an adorable little doll with a clear gift for keeping their head up, it may be tough to imagine, but there may come a day when you wonder if your kid is, well, kind of dumb. This dad on Reddit has his doubts, evidenced by this post, where he clarifies:

"Okay, I don't actually think she's dumb, but have any of you dealt with a child who really struggles in school? My daughter is 6 and is so sweet and caring, but when it comes to intellectual pursuits, she really struggles. More so, she doesn't seem to try.

The past few months we've been working with her a lot on her reading and spelling, trying to help her get that coveted 100 percent on her weekly spelling test. Even when we think she has the week's words down solid, she never does better than an 80 percent, but generally performs even worse."

I think there's always some "secret fear" we harbor but won't say out loud for fear of sounding critical.

I feel for this guy so hard, because it's clear that he is worried about his daughter, and that his post comes from a place of concern, not vanity. He goes on to say:

"The same is true for reading. Given a situation where she might need to read (like while playing a video game), she will simply avoid or ignore it. Even when it's something simple that she KNOWS how to read.

ADHD or a learning disability have become a genuine concern, and money is tight, so a tutor is nearly out of the question right now."

I distinctly remember feeling that my daughter, as beautiful and clearly advanced as she was, would fly through life with the combined powers of astounding beauty and incomparable wit. Lucky kid!

The fact is, once your child starts school, you are in for a very rude awakening. Children starting Kindergarten run the gamut from not knowing their ABCs to reading to themselves, and your child will fall somewhere into a spectrum. Furthermore, no one, and I do mean no one, is as impressed as you are when it comes to your child's abilities.

But even if your child is super smart or excels at school, I think there's always some "secret fear" we harbor but won't say out loud for fear of sounding critical. For some, it's the nagging fear that their kid is a little more homely than they originally thought. You might worry about their lack of coordination or ultimate suckery at athletics. Maybe they're completely tone deaf.

Once your child starts school, you are in for a very rude awakening.

For me, I'm concerned about my child's social skills. She's very emotionally young and cries easily out of frustration or empathy or just because it's raining outside and that gives her the sads. I love her for her sensitivity, but I worry that the shark tank of middle school will leave her completely tattered.

I like that this guy went ahead and laid it out there. I wonder that more of us don't. I think that part of it is that it can be easy to cross the line from concerned to critical, and no one wants to give the impression that our kids just aren't measuring up to out standards.

The other part is this weird atmosphere of competitive parenting that we live in, where people act as though there are merit badges just waiting to be assigned for raising a child who wins science fairs and popularity contests and soccer games. Admitting that you're concerned for them is like forfeiting.

No one is like this. Adults aren't like this. Kids definitely aren't like this. It's okay if your kid is struggling. Admitting that they are will make it that much easier to help them.

This Is the Year I'm Actually Going to Run a Marathon

This is the year I'm actually going to run a marathon. There. I said it! In fact, it's one of my New Year's resolutions. It was last year's, too . . . but I chickened out. Now, before all you millions and billions of strangers (hey, guys!), I'm claiming it: I WILL run a marathon in 2017.

And now that I've said it, I can admit that I'm completely terrified. Though I ran my first five half marathons in less than two years, this is a big, lofty, scary goal for me. Instead of leaving one huge, daunting goal looming in the distance of 2017, I decided to give myself more actionable objectives to better structure my year for success (hello, I'm an A-type, nice to meet you).

And I know it might seem like I'm a fitness editor, and that this is no big deal since I work out literally every day, but please keep in mind that in 2014, I couldn't run a mile in under 15 minutes without stopping to take several breaks. I've proven myself wrong before, broken down walls internally, and surprised myself in ways I never could've dreamed of - and if I can do it, anyone can do it!

Are you thinking of taking on this big challenge in 2017? Let's do it together! Here are some benchmarks I'm giving myself to set myself up for my first big 26.2 . . . and all the miles leading up to it.

  1. Buy the damn bib. Step one of making sure I don't back out of something: spend a lot of money. How else do you think I get up at 6 a.m. for SoulCycle? I can't lose $32! Once you commit financially, you'll be less likely to back out. I have my sights set on the Big Apple, so I'll most likely be signing up for a Team in Training to get myself a spot in the race.
  2. Get a second opinion . . . on shoes. Earlier this year I went on a run with Nike running coach Blue Benadum (he's run almost 60 marathons!). And although I've done some shoe fittings that indicated I need more of a stability shoe, he analyzed my mid- to forefoot strike and told me I was wearing too much cushion in the heel. Apparently it's time for a reevaluation! Ultramarathoner and coach Robin Arzon also emphasized to me the importance of choosing the right shoe, so I'll be going through several fittings. Checking this off my list will help me feel more prepared and secure in my decision.
  3. Schedule out other races this year. One way to make this race less scary is to schedule a handful of longer races and half marathons before the date of my full marathon. I'm already registered for a 10.6 miler at the Big Sur International Marathon (yay for checking things off my list of goals!), and I'm hoping to do a Disney half marathon at some point, too. Although these will still be HUGE victories and major goals for me (it's still a lot of miles!), compared to the big race, they'll be my mini victories along the way - or as Robin Arzon calls them, "micro successes."
  4. Commit to cross-training. This race isn't just about running - I want to make sure my body is strong enough and my endurance is *all the way up* so that I don't feel destroyed at the end of this thing. I especially need to focus on my leg strength, as I have some run-induced patella inflammation that could potentially sideline me. Physical therapy, leg day, and foam rolling will be of the utmost importance this year.
  5. Don't wait for a certain date to start training. I talked with 11-time Ironman finisher and coach Marni Sumbal about this new adventure I'm embarking on, and this was her advice: don't wait, start now. "Think of every day between now and your future half marathon as available time to get stronger and improve your endurance." It made so much sense - waiting to start training is like procrastinating on a project you're afraid of. I've already started running a little bit more than usual to get 2017 off on the right foot.
  6. Choose the right training program. Although I plan on starting my training nearly a year in advance of my marathon, you can bet I'll be following a strict beginner marathon training program about five months out. Commitment to this program is a goal within a goal.
  7. Make mental health a priority. I may or may not have an emotional breakdown during training - knowing that ahead of time and preparing for "the worst" in a sense will remind me to cut myself some slack when things don't go according to plan. Don't beat yourself up if you miss a run, or you don't make a certain time, or you don't feel your best on one of your training days; this is a marathon, not a sprint! Literally! Your commitment to this huge physical and mental goal is a gift to yourself; you're celebrating your health and your body, so don't get hung up on missteps or bumps in the road, and cherish every step on your journey to 26.2.

The Best Way to Enjoy Wine and Cheese, Hands Down!

Jason Momoa Jokes That He "Kinda Stalked" Wife Lisa Bonet Before They Met

Ever daydream about meeting your celebrity crush and making them instantly fall in love with you? While that seems like a lovely thought for most people, that's exactly what happened for Jason Momoa and wife Lisa Bonet. The pair has been making us swoon with their romance for more than 11 years now, and the beginning of their love story is just as magical as the memories they've shared in the years since they met. After watching her on The Cosby Show while growing up, the Justice League actor admits his crush on her stayed with him until they were finally introduced in 2005. "I was definitely . . . that was the first time when I was like, 'I want that one. I want her. I'm going to get her,'" he told Katie Couric of watching the show in 2014. "I didn't tell her until after we had our two children. But I told her . . . 'I kinda stalked ya. I was going to find ya.'"

Jason also opened up about the exact moment they crossed paths in 2005, telling The YBF, "We met through mutual friends. But when I first met her, she didn't know I was a stalker, but I was. I was with one of my best friends and when I turned around, and they were going to introduce us, literally, like, fireworks. She said, 'Hi, I'm Lisa,' and I said, 'Hi, I'm Jason,' and I just turn around to my buddy like . . . [freaking out]. Inside, I was like a little girl and I [deepened my voice] and tried to pull it together. She definitely makes me shy." It's official: nobody will ever be as romantic as Jason Momoa.

8 Foolproof Ways to Get Better Skin in 2017

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Benjamine Stone

Make 2017 the year you get a clean slate - and by that, we mean a flawless face and the perfect canvas for makeup. Here, we have rounded up the products POPSUGAR beauty editors truly love and exactly how we use them.

1. Eat your way to clear skin. Your skin is technically your largest organ, so if you're eating something that is making it inflamed, it will show via acne, redness, or other irritations. Following a clean, balanced diet (like this one!) can change everything from your face's texture to the appearance (or disappearance) of fine lines and pimples.

2. Sleep on a silk pillowcase. Not only will it make your blow-dry last longer, but it also helps reduce the chance of forming wrinkles. Since your face is less smushed and roughed up by a scratchy pillowcase, everything stays smoother for those hours of slumber. Try Slip Silk Pillowcase ($79) - Jen Atkin is a fan!

3. Use face oil. It doesn't matter if you have oily skin, because oil fights oil. And if you have dry skin, even better. Choose a face oil that feels and smells amazing to you (we like this holistic one from Tata Harper ($48)), and make it part of your nightly routine. The aromatherapy benefits are just a bonus.

4. Speaking of oil, try double cleansing. This ritual is the best way to ensure you go to bed with a clean yet hydrated face. Start by massaging a cleansing oil, such as Shu Uemura Anti-Oxi Cleansing Oil ($77), into dry skin. Add water and rise. Follow with a milky face wash, such as Chanel Lait Confort Creamy Cleansing Milk ($45). After, your skin will feel like butter, and there will be zero traces of smudged eyeliner or mascara.

5. Do a Korean beauty eye mask. K-beauty innovations tend to be ahead of the curve when it comes to unique textures - like gels or under-eye patches. We tested six of them to report back on the ones that actually work. Find the best one for you as well as concealer, and start loving your eye area again.

6. Try an at-home peel. One of the most effective ways to get rid of dull skin is a glycolic peel. There is no actual peeling involved. It's more like a clear "mask" that stings a bit, and then you wash it off. These are often done during facials, but as long as you test the product on a place like your arm to make sure you are not allergic, they are safe to do while you're watching Netflix in sweats. We like these Cane and Austin peel pads, which instantly give you a smoother face.

7. Wear SPF every day, even in the Winter. But actually do it! UV rays make skin more sensitive, according to top NYC dermatologist Dr. Amy Wechsler. And the sun can damage your skin, even when it's cold outside. Protect your skin now, and it will age better. Try Tatcha Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 ($68), which doesn't have that telltale sunscreen scent and acts like a primer for makeup.

8. Stop picking your face! You are likely getting scars, and we bet this was also your resolution last year. Make it work in 2017 by following this guide, which breaks down the psychology behind why we pick our faces and offers actionable techniques on how to stop. Now, back away from that magnifying mirror.

Zoom In on Queen Letizia's Best Jewelry and You'll Definitely Fall in Love

In 10 years, the woman who was christened Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano went from news anchor to queen of Spain, and just one of the ways in which her life has changed can be charted by the contents of her jewelry box.

7 Gel Manicure Mistakes That Are Ruining Your Nails

There are many reasons I love a gel manicure, but a few in particular stand out. I'm obsessed that they require zero drying time, which equates to zero probability of smudging. They last for at least two weeks. That enduring glossy finish gets me to book salon visits over and over again. But when it comes time to take off the lacquer, I admittedly get a little lazy. When choosing between squeezing a removal appointment into a busy schedule or picking and peeling on my way home from work, I'm often guilty of the latter.

It turns out that's not the only error I've been making when it comes to gel polish. Chances are, you - and your favorite salon! - are making some of them, too. That's precisely why I enlisted the help of celebrity manicurist Elle. The nail tech (who has painted the talons of Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Blake Lively) revealed that seemingly simple things can cause your gels and natural nails to prematurely crack and peel. But when applied and cared for correctly, these glossy lacquers aren't harmful to your claws at all. Read on to discover her top nail-saving tips.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have had quite a busy year. Not only did the royal couple make a splash with their week-long tour of India and Bhutan in April, but they recently took their whole family along for their royal tour of Canada. If you love the British couple just as much as we do, be sure to check out their best appearances from 2016, so far.

12 Things to Add to 2017 For a Healthier, Happier Year

In the New Year, there are some things you should cut back on to be healthier, but also so many things you should add in. The best part? They're so simple - and many of them cost absolutely nothing. Try adding more of each of these to your day-to-day in 2017 to make this year so much better than the last.

  1. Movement. More movement, more health, more happiness. Adding in more walking, more taking the stairs, and more exercise (your favorite kinds!) will add more joy to your year.
  2. Green tea. Relax, but still get the alertness you need. A cup of green tea can give you a nice boost of energy with a healthy dose of antistress vitamins and minerals.
  3. Kindness. We could all use a little more. When people seem mean or negative, kill 'em with kindness. Regardless of how someone else behaves, you have the ability to control your response. The nicer you are, the better you'll feel.
  4. Dance workouts. If 2016 taught us anything, it's that a dance workout can cure even the worst of moods. For a workout that feels like a party, look to dance - and no, it doesn't matter if you've never danced before or "don't have rhythm!"
  5. Singing in the shower. Use those pipes! Singing can boost your mood, fight off mental illness, and combat pain.
  6. Meditation. Clear your head and add a sense of calm to your everyday. You can start meditation easily, at home (or in the office), for only five or 10 minutes each day.
  7. Water. Keep your body feeling great, headaches away, weight managed, and mood boosted - with water! Drinking more water can also clear your skin, boost your immune system, and help you perform better in your workouts.
  8. Oil diffusing. Another way to add some joy and a sense of calm? Use essential oils. Not only can you use different oils for different purposes (ranging from treating depression to curbing a sore throat), but oil diffusing makes your home smell fantastic.
  9. Sleep. Sleep is the key to weight loss, more energy, a better functioning body, and happiness. And the sad truth is that most of us don't get enough of it! Make it a goal in 2017 to sleep more; aim for seven to eight hours.
  10. Vegetables. You don't have to be a vegan to add more plant-based meals into your diet! We could all use a little more green in our lives - real food, lots of vitamins and minerals, and so many benefits. One woman made a goal of adding a green to every meal and ended up losing over 100 pounds. Whether your goal is weight loss or general health, you've got nothing to lose when you add more plants to your diet.
  11. Time outside. Getting some fresh air can do some seriously great things for your health. Whether you're forest bathing, grounding, or going for a brisk walk, spending more time outside can do wonders for your mood (and your vitamin D levels!).
  12. Gratitude. It's scientifically proven that practicing gratitude is good for your health. Reminding yourself daily of how grateful you are for your health, body, and the smaller details of your life can bring you joy regularly.

All the Countries William, Kate, and Harry Visited in 2016

In 2016, the workloads of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince Harry increased significantly - and so too did the amount of overseas travel they have undertaken as part of their official duties. Between them (and not forgetting cameo appearances from Prince George and Princess Charlotte), they have racked up visits to 20 different countries on four continents - and it's a figure which is only set to increase over the coming years. After releasing baby turtles on Lover's Beach and spray-painting sedated elephants in Malawi, a precarious rail-track shimmy in Canada and archery in Bhutan, the start of a new love affair, hard labor, and a much-anticipated first solo overseas trip, we can't wait to see where they all visit next and what they do when they're there.
