Meet the New Workout You'll Be Begging to Come to Your City
You can do anything for 30 seconds. Seriously! It doesn't matter if it's the fastest sprint of your life, a set of box jumps, or a rip on the rowing machine; 30 seconds is manageable for pretty much anyone.
That's the idea at Speedplay - one of the most fun, challenging, and dynamic workouts I've ever had the chance to try. A conditioning class that's part high-intensity interval training, part strength and resistance training, and part race against the clock, Speedplay offers a structured but mixed-format class that keeps you on your toes for the fastest 60 minutes of your life.
I first tried Speedplay over the holidays - once at the Beverly Hills studio with trainer Meagan Fulps, and the other at the Downtown LA location with owner and creator Xavier Quimbo. Each class left me breathless, yet wildly energized (and sore). Not only were the instructors exceptional and detail oriented, but they were just the right amount of motivating without being scary or intimidating.
The Workout
Here's how it works. The class is broken up into three parts: the Woodway Curve treadmill, the C2 rowing machine, and floor work with different bodyweight and weighted exercises. Depending on how large the class is, you'll be broken up into two or three groups, and rotate through these circuits. Before the actual workout, you'll do a warmup, and at the end you'll do a cooldown.
A bit about the machines. The Woodway Curve is not your ordinary treadmill: there's no need to set the pace with buttons, just your feet - it's completely self-powered and electricity-free! Xavier told us that he used to have these machines in his physical therapy office, and he uses them in this class because they're safer machines that provide a more effective workout. Then there's the C2 rowing machine, which provides one of the best total-body workouts you can possibly get.
The class I took with Meagan in Beverly Hills had my group start on the treadmill with some sprint training, taking active recovery breaks with a resistance band. Our group then rotated to the floor to do some burpees, push-ups, and plyometric moves, before finishing the first round on the rowing machine, where I did more interval training. Then it starts over, with slight adjustments - so you're not just doing the same thing over and over (see the photo below for that class's rundown). And if you feel like you're hitting a wall? You can take a lap outside. It's great.
In Xavier's class we did box jumps and used barbells and walked backwards on the treadmill. Because each time is so different, you're getting as much of a mental exercise as you are a physical one - so you can't check out. This is an ideal class to take if you need to take your mind off something stressful - you won't have a single moment to think about anything but the task at hand.
The Experience
We're seeing mixed-format classes like this pop up everywhere; it's ideal if you get bored easily or are possibly intimidated by less structured classes. The short bits of interval training make it feel more manageable, and it's always different no matter how many times you go.
The class also has a pretty even distribution of men and women - it's definitely not a barre class and it's definitely not a CrossFit gym, but it seems to be like a cross-section in terms of clientele. This also contributes to the class not feeling too intimidating; it's all different types of people in class (with different levels of fitness), and everyone's pretty focused on their workout, yet still positive and friendly. Class prices vary based on location and membership, but your first class is $15.
Overall Impression
We know that mixing up your workouts and combining cardio with weights is the most effective way to lose weight and see physical progress, so why not get it done in one class? Speedplay does so effectively in a fun, energetic environment that doesn't feel like a bootcamp or scary, militarized format. The instructors are attentive, skilled, and unbelievably motivating. The studio ambiance is high-end without being pretentious.

The Horrifying Way Improperly Removing Acrylics Can Harm Your Nails
If you have chronically short nails, it's tempting to get long and stylish acrylics. Beauty blogger Amelia Perrin has a serious acrylic-nail addiction and frequently posts photos of her lengthy artificial talons on Instagram. She gets many compliments on her claws, but wanted to warn people of the negative side effects.
On Twitter, Amelia revealed what happened when she ripped off her acrylics with a painful-looking photo. In another tweet, Amelia said that even the hot water in the shower was painful on her sensitive nails.
Professional manicurist and Gelish Educator Danielle Candido has some good news for beauty junkies that just can't kick the habit. "You can continuously wear acrylic without damaging your nails – the potential for it damaging your nails depends a lot on the quality of the product and the training of the nail tech," Candido explained via email. She also warned against using any product containing Methyl Methacrylate (MMA), an illegal monomer liquid which severely damages the nail (but sometimes shows up at discount salons because it is inexpensive).
Another way to protect your natural nail is to make sure your tech doesn't overfile your nail prior to application; you'll know it's being overfiled if you feel any soreness or pain. Most importantly, never rip off your acrylic nails. "It literally pulls pieces of the nail off with it if you remove [them] improperly," explained Candido.
To make sure your digits stay healthy while wearing acrylics, Candido suggests using cuticle oil daily, twice a day. If your nails are already damaged, use nail treatments to nourish your nails, like the Morgan Taylor Go Ahead and Grow Treatment Base Coat ($6), and give your natural nails a break from the damage.
Read on to see the damage that results from removing acrylic nails at home.
New Year, New Camila Cabello! She's Starting Off 2017 as a Solo Singer in Paradise (and a Sexy Bikini)

In the stunning photos, Camila appears to be relaxed after a messy split from 5H, even rocking her natural wavy hair texture. Keep scrolling to see the "Bad Things" singer's waterside photos straight from Mexico, then discover everything you need to know about her.
This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Scrambled Eggs
One of the most basic recipes everyone learns is scrambled eggs, but the truth is perfectly scrambled eggs are a lot trickier than they seem. Much like the classic omelet, scrambling eggs is one cooking method on which many chefs differ. To whisk in a bowl or in the pan? To add dairy or to not? Minor tweaks can make huge differences in something so basic, and we guarantee you'll want to change up your scrambled egg routine with tips from these experts - they know a thing or two about recipe developing. Here's how some of our favorite chefs scramble their eggs (we're not kidding when we say Gordon Ramsay's method is a game changer).
Alton Brown: Whisk With Whole Milk
Simple yet effective is the name of the game in Alton Brown's scrambled egg recipe. Adding whole milk isn't his only tip, though. "Odds are you're going to be serving these on a plate. If so, I strongly suggest you park an ovensafe one in a low oven or in hot water while you're cooking. Cold plates suck the heat right out of food," his recipe description reads.
Giada De Laurentiis: Frittata Cupcakes
Giada's preferred method of scrambling eggs involves a mini muffin tin - she likes to make frittata cupcakes. She told POPSUGAR in an interview, "I love making my little cupcakes - frittata cupcakes. I just stick whatever's left in the fridge. Whatever it is that was from the night before, whether it's leftover pasta, leftover meat, leftover vegetables . . . Another favorite is lox, scrambled eggs, and peas - for a little color. For a Sunday morning, it's one of my favorite go-to breakfasts."
Gordon Ramsay: Low and Slow (With a Secret Ingredient)
Gordon Ramsay's scrambled eggs recipe is one everyone must try at least once. The finished product looks more like custard, and thanks to his cooking method and a secret ingredient, they're melt-in-your-mouth good.
Chrissy Teigen: "Cheesy" Eggs, Hold the Cheese
Chrissy Teigen swears by her method of creating "cheesy" eggs without the cheese, thanks to her secret ingredient: heavy cream. Her tip for getting them as creamy as possible with no browned spots? "Don't stop gently stirring and scraping (edges and all) for more than a few seconds!"
The Pioneer Woman: Smoked Salmon and Chives
Like most Pioneer Woman recipes, this one sounds delightful. Calling them the "best scrambled eggs ever", Ree Drummond suggests sprinkling in chopped smoked salmon after the eggs are cooked and then garnishing with chopped fresh chives.
Mario Batali: Topped With Shaved Truffle
Leave it to Mario Batali to bring some serious culinary chops to such a basic recipe. To make scrambled eggs special, Mario suggests adding mascarpone or parmesan cheese, but to make them "spectacular," garnish with shaved truffle.
This Mom Gave Birth to 4 Babies in 11 Months and No, They're Not Quadruplets
A woman in Wales has given birth to four babies in just 11 months. No, they're not quadruplets, and yes, you read that right.
After welcoming her daughter in February 2015, Becky Johns and her partner, Jason, discussed having more children close in age to Mya - really close. The couple started trying for another baby right away and Becky got pregnant just a week after having Mya, but that's not even the most shocking part of the story.
To Becky and Jason's disbelief, they heard not one, not two, but three heartbeats at Becky's scan - triplets. "I had to stare at the screen just to make sure for myself," Becky told Barcroft Media. "And I counted the heartbeats one by one. It was true I was actually pregnant with triplets."
Although naturally conceived triplets tend to be rare, Becky's were even more so in that they each came from a separate egg, meaning three placentas and less chance of risks associated with the babies sharing a placenta. Becky gave birth to three healthy babies - Ryan, Phoebe, and Raya - via C-section last January.
"I was so huge by that time I could barely move and doctors wanted to get them out in case I went into labor early," Becky said. "I'd been carrying around nearly 15 pounds of babies. I couldn't believe it. But I was just so relieved they were all healthy and well."
Becky's wish for children close in age certainly came true, and the family couldn't be happier. Her 9-year-old daughter, Kayla, loves her baby brother and sisters, and Becky says that "it's lovely to think that Mya and the triplets will grow up so close in age."
Why Kate Middleton and Prince William Broke Up Before Getting Married
Image Source: Getty / Samir Hussein
If you and your significant other have a history of breaking up and making up, you're not alone: there have been a handful of celebrity couples who suffered a split before ultimately getting married, and one of them has royal ties. Yes, Kate Middleton and Prince William called off their relationship before their lavish wedding in April 2011. In 2007, four years after they began dating and four years before tying the knot, the royal couple hit a rough patch and decided to part ways. Clarence House declined to comment about the relationship's end at the time, saying, "We don't comment on Prince William's private life."
"We were both very young . . . we were both finding ourselves and being different characters."So why did they split? In late 2006, Kate's family invited William to celebrate New Year's Eve with them. The Middletons booked a house in the snowy Scotland countryside. William had agreed to come, but later changed his mind - which did not sit well with Kate. Spending the holidays in Sandringham with the queen is a strict royal tradition, and Kate was not technically allowed to join in his family festivities unless she and William were married. After the new year, William's military commitments - he was to be stationed with the Household Cavalry at Bovington Barracks in Dorset for three months - kept the couple from seeing each other, and Kate was growing increasingly uncomfortable with the aggressive paparazzi and media attention she was getting as his girlfriend. William was also going out a lot with other guys in the barracks; he was spotted on a number of occasions drinking, dancing, and "being flirty" with women in London, which further angered Kate.
The two secretly reunited at a themed party in June 2010, which was held in William's barracks to celebrate the end of his training. It was during their vacation in Kenya that October that William presented Kate with the same 12-carat oval blue Ceylon sapphire ring worn by his late mother, Princess Diana, and asked her to marry him. "I didn't really plan it that far in advance," William told reporters after the engagement was made public. "I just knew I wanted it to feel comfortable where I did it and I wanted it to mean something, other than just the act of getting engaged."
Image Source: Getty / George Pimentel
As we all know, in April 2011, Will and Kate went on to marry in one of the biggest and most newsworthy weddings of our generation. They welcomed their first child, Prince George, in July 2013, followed by Princess Charlotte, who was born in May 2015. In a joint interview after their engagement, William said of their split, "We were both very young . . . we were both finding ourselves and being different characters." He went on: "It was very much trying to find our own way and we were growing up so it was just a bit of space, and it worked out for the better." See? There's still hope for your own fairy-tale ending.
NSFW: Turns Out Kim Kardashian Might Be a "Free-the-Nipple Type of Girl" After All
Kim Kardashian's name is pretty synonymous with controversy, and recently, the reality TV star and mom of two came under fire for her surprising comments about feminism. During the #BlogHer conference in August, Kim admitted that she doesn't "label herself" a feminist, adding that while she is "so supportive of women" and wants them to "be confident," she isn't a "free-the-nipple type of girl." But judging by some of Kim's recent street style looks, it appears that she may be reconsidering her outlook. From cleavage-baring bra tops to a head-turning sheer dress, Kim has been putting her full confidence on display, as well as some of her best assets.
The Free the Nipple movement is a gender-equality campaign started in 2014 that argues that women and men should be granted the same freedoms and protections under the law, especially when it comes to online censorship; Instagram in particular has been criticized for removing images of women's nipples and labeling it "graphic content." As Kim is no stranger to sharing NSFW snaps on social media, her statements eschewing being that "type of girl" understandably angered some people. So is Kim softening on her stance? Take a look at her latest nipple-baring ensembles and judge for yourself.
Are You a Prada Lady or a Miu Miu Girl? The Answer's Right Here
When asked about the difference between her two lines, Prada and Miu Miu, Miuccia Prada once said:
"Designing for me is a very complex process. There are many ideas that I want to express in one object, very often contradictory. The creative process in Miu Miu is completely different from that of Prada. Rather than being young, Miu Miu is immediate. Prada is very sophisticated and considered; Miu Miu is much more naïve. The solution, when I am working on Miu Miu, has to come immediately, instinctively, spontaneously with whatever is available at the moment. If I think three times, I stop."
The designer was quoted in System Magazine two years ago, and when I read her explanation, I understood it immediately. But that's not the only reason I appreciate the distinction between the two labels. Aside from the fact that Miuccia Prada explains her art so clearly, she also executes, maintaining very specific aesthetics for each brand season after season. It's not only noticeable on the runway, where the Prada model is mature and equipped with all the essentials, and the Miu Miu girl is playful, her outfit a bit more carefree and thrown together as if to say, "why not?"
You can notice the difference between Miu Miu and Prada when it comes to ad campaigns, the It bags or shoes, and the front-row celebrity staples at Fashion Week. Read on to learn more about each label, and by the time you're studied up, you'll have arrived at the line that's truly right for you - are you a Prada lady or a Miu Miu girl at heart?
Catherine Cortez Masto Has Officially Been Sworn In as the Nation's First-Ever Latina Senator
While Hillary Clinton lost the presidential race to Donald Trump on the evening of Nov. 8, another woman made headlines for becoming the first Latina to be elected to the Senate. In a historic race, Catherine Cortez Masto defeated Congressman Joe Heck to become Nevada's newest senator.
Senator Cortez Masto, who was sworn in by Vice President Joe Biden on Jan. 3, filled now-retired Harry Reid's seat. The Mexican-American Democrat had previously been serving as Nevada's Attorney General since 2007. As Attorney General, she cracked down on drug trafficking in the state, as well as the manufacturing of methamphetamines. She also created the Mortgage Fraud Strike Force, which investigates fraudulent foreclosures and housing scams.
In a series of tweets after the election, Cortez Masto thanked voters for electing her and assured them that she would fight hard against President-elect Trump, ultimately adding that the good fight is yet to come.
Mañana la lucha sigue.

Kérastase Is Launching the First-Ever Smart Hair Brush
Brushing your hair will no longer be a boring task thanks to Kérastase. The L'Oreal-owned French haircare brand is launching a smart hairbrush, the first ever to market. The tool sounds totally rad, and may give you a reason to retire your Mason Pearson. Here's what we know so far about the product, called the Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings.
First of all, the brush has a microphone, which listens to the sound of strands being brushed and captures hair sound waves. It will use this data to identify patterns. Then, it can help you manage problems like frizz, dehydration, and split ends. Yeah, this brush is basically going to be your new best friend - the one who tells you the truth!
It also has sensors to detect if you're using it on wet or dry hair. This helps it give you a more accurate read. And by the way, the brush is splash proof, so don't worry too much if it gets a little wet.
There is a gyroscope technology to tell you if you're brushing too aggressively and an accelerometer to give insight on how many brush strokes you're doing. A vibrating handle further guides your brushing technique.
Once it collects all of this helpful feedback, it sends the information via WFfi or Bluetooth to a mobile app. Said app takes the data as well as environmental factors (humidity, wind, etc.) to give your hair quality a score. You'll receive data how how well you're doing brushing your hair, personalized tips about your routines, and customized Kérastase product picks.
The Kérastase Hair Coach Powered by Withings launch is mid 2017 for $200 kerastase-usa.com. Watch it in action in the video below!
This Incredible Girl Shut Down Her Little Sister's Bullies With 1 Epic Note

- daisy (@daisybhelm) April 23, 2016
When a 12-year-old girl learned that her sister was being bullied, this protective sibling used her hands to intervene: by writing them a powerful message.
On a piece of cheerful pink paper, Ava formally invited a group of girls to "stop being jerks to my sister!" To make things perfectly clear for the four kids who were bothering her sister, Ava provided specific details including:
When: Right Now!
Where: Everywhere!
What to Bring: Bring your nasty attitude and throw it right in the trash can.
Why: You guessed it folks, you're being jerks!
She also included cheeky RSVP details (Ava@KindlyFreakingStop.Gmail.com) as well as an option if they aren't able to attend. "If you can't make it, don't worry, you are welcome to come to my angry and emotional seventh grader wrath instead," she wrote.
But for the final punch, Ava wrote "stop" in 20 different languages on the back of the invitation. Ava's proud babysitter shared the handwritten card on Twitter, and many are still applauding the creative way this preteen had her sister's back.

Kate Middleton Has Something That No Other British Royal Bride Does
We've learned quite a bit about Kate Middleton since she officially joined the royal family in 2011, and getting to see her many milestones as the Duchess of Cambridge has been a real delight. Even though her new life as a duchess has afforded her the same opulent jewels, lavish living quarters, and frequent public appearances as everyone else, there's one thing Kate has that none of the other women in the family do: a college education.
When Kate and William met in 2001, they were both students at University of St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. They graduated in 2005, William with a master's in geography and Kate with a master's degree (with honors) in art history - making her the UK's first royal bride with a university degree. If Kate becomes queen, she will also be the first ever to have attended college.

Though she didn't attend college, current monarch Queen Elizabeth II's education is nothing to sneeze at. She was essentially homeschooled but had the cream of the crop when it came to teachers. After she became heir to the throne in 1936, she studied constitutional history and law with Eton College Vice Provost Henry Marten. She also learned French, music, and literature from a personal governess and took lessons in religion from the Archbishop of Canterbury. When she was 18, she joined the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service during World War II, training as a mechanic and driver.

Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone once went on a magical trip to Disneyland back in August 2012. The then-couple enjoyed some rides, including Splash Mountain and It's a Small World, with a group of Andrew's best friends to celebrate his 29th birthday. While the pictures from their trip looked innocent enough at the time, the actor recently opened up about what really went down that day. In a video for W magazine, Andrew admits that the group ate pot brownies before going to the park. "It was literally heaven," he said. "How about Space Mountain three times in a row? And I freaked out on It's a Small World. I was like, 'It is a f*cking small world.'" He also revealed that their group's tour guide was probably too innocent to realize they were all on drugs. Watch his whole rundown in the video above, and be prepared to laugh out loud.
Lena Dunham's High-Tech Acne Mask Is a Totally Affordable Drugstore Steal
If you deal with acne, you know that treatments - professional and over the counter alike - can get costly. This is especially true when you get technology involved. Laser therapy and other intensive remedies can set you back hundreds of dollars as well as hours of time. However, Lena Dunham recently took to Instagram to prove that achieving clear skin doesn't require a major commitment.
"Saw the ad for the light therapy acne mask and became obsessed so when we got home from our journey it was waiting on my side of the bed. Thank you @jackantonoff, even if you just did it to amuse yourself," she declared, holding a remote that controlled a futuristic piece of technology on her face.
The device is the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask, which uses a blend of blue and red LED lights to fight breakouts. (Blue specifically kills blemish-causing bacteria, while red diminishes inflammation.) Each daily treatment is only 10 minutes, which can be done during other activities, such as making breakfast or watching television . . . much simpler than heading to a dermatologist's clinic. And, because the product is from Neutrogena, it's available at drugstores. It's pricier than your typical drugstore spot treatment - it's $35 - but considering the cost of fancier creams or devices, this mask is a total steal.
Lena's not the only celebrity fan of the Light Therapy mask. Actress Olivia Holt counts herself as a huge fan, telling POPSUGAR, "it's bringing your own dermatologist back home. You use it for literally 10 minutes and then you're done."
Read on to see more shots of the mask in action, then shop it for yourself.

Diego Luna Just Perfectly Highlighted the Importance of Latino Representation in Hollywood With This Tweet
The fact that Diego Luna got to keep his Mexican accent for his part as Captain Cassian Andor in Rogue One (instead of having to hide it with help from a voice coach) is a big deal, and a tweet from the Mexican actor is summing up exactly why in the most perfect way.
On Jan. 4, Diego shared a screenshot of Tumblr user RiverAlwaysKnew's story where she talks about taking her Mexican dad to see the Star Wars movie featuring Diego in a leading role. "I wanted my Mexican father, with his thick Mexican accent, to experience what it was like to see a hero in a blockbuster film, speak the way he does," the fan says, before detailing her dad's reaction to hearing Diego's accent on a major blockbuster. This post has been updated with new information.
Fans were thrown for a loop when news broke in September 2016 that Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after 11 years of being together. Although the By the Sea actress has yet to personally speak out on the matter, her attorney, Robert Offer, said her decision to split was "for the health of the family." Brad released a statement of his own not long after, telling People, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids." While it's still unclear what led to their shocking breakup, keep reading to get all caught up on everything that has unfolded since then.
- Angelina files for divorce from Brad. The actress filed papers to end their marriage on Sept. 19, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting sole physical custody of their six children, Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, Zahara, and twins Vivienne and Knox. She also asked the judge to grant Brad visitation rights.
- Angelina's attorney, Robert Offer, releases a statement on her behalf. After their divorce news grabbed headlines on Sept. 20, Angelina's attorney said her decision to divorce was made "for the health of the family," but did not answer any further questions.
- Brad releases a statement. The actor spoke out about the split in a statement to People that same day, making it clear that he's putting their kids first. "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time," he said.
- More details about their divorce surface. In an exclusive report from Us Weekly, a source close to the pair revealed that "they fought a lot over the years and disagreed about many things. . . . The fighting got worse and they disagreed a lot about parenting." The insider also noted that they would also "fight over their schedules and politics."
- Angelina's manager, Geyer Kosinski, releases another statement on her behalf. Later that Tuesday, Angelina's manager told E! News, "Angelina will always do what's in the best interest of taking care of her family. She appreciates everyone's understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
- Celebrities react to Brad and Angelina's shocking split. Once the news broke on Sept. 20, it didn't take very long for GIFs and memes to flood the internet. Stars also quickly chimed in, and Chrissy Teigen tweeted, "Brad and Angelina. How am I supposed to go to work today?" Meanwhile, their friend George Clooney found out about the breakup while attending the Leaders' Summit on Refugees at the United Nations. During an interview with CNN, a reporter asked him to comment on their split, to which he shockingly responded, "What happened? . . . I didn't know that. I feel very sorry then. That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family. It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that." Adele also dedicated her NYC concert to the couple, telling the audience, "I need to address to elephant in the room . . . But it's the end of an era." More recently, Courteney Cox said the divorce is "not about" Jennifer Aniston, and Jen's husband, Justin Theroux, made a similar comment about her inclusion being "nonsense." Melissa Etheridge also chimed in, calling Angelina "nasty" and saying that the allegations of child abuse against Brad were "completely unfounded."
- The New York Post releases a cover featuring a laughing Jennifer Aniston. On Sept. 21, people were furious when The New York Post released its Brad and Angelina split cover, showing a massive photo of Jennifer laughing hysterically. Not long after, Jennifer's pal, Chelsea Handler, spoke out about the breakup, saying, "Brad and Angelina always said they wouldn't get married until everyone could get married and I always said I wouldn't get married until they got divorced, so I'm officially accepting proposals. I'm ready." She then continued, "There are rumors that part of the problem was that Brad was allegedly drinking and smoking too much weed. I wonder why he would need to self-medicate? Maybe because he could have been spending the last 12 years at Lake Como hanging out with George Clooney and Matt Damon instead of being stuck in a house with 85 kids, speaking 15 different languages. Oh yeah, and because he married a f*cking lunatic, that's why."
- Marion Cotillard breaks her silence on Brad and Angelina's split. On Sept. 21, Marion took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy with longtime partner Guillaume Canet and shut down rumors that she had an affair with Brad in a lengthy post. "This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into," she wrote, adding, "Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need . . . And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery. Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both of whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment."
- Brad is investigated for child abuse. On Sept. 22, People magazine reported that the actor was under investigation for child abuse by the Los Angeles Police Department and LA County Department of Children and Family Services after someone anonymously reported that he got "verbally abusive" and "physical" with one of his six children. The incident allegedly occurred on Sept. 14 on his and Angelina's private plane, where the rest of the kids, as well as Angelina, were also present. The report also suggests that he had been drinking at the time of the incident. Not long after the news broke, the LAPD denied the report with the statement: "We have no criminal investigation that we are actively pursuing. To my knowledge, [Pitt talking to police] never happened. And right now, that is where our office is. We are not investigating any case, nor do we have any allegations against Mr. Pitt. We understand how rumors get spun up and hopefully we can put a few of them to rest. We have no investigation involving Mr. Pitt." People later clarified that the DCFS is still investigating Brad for child abuse, but the LAPD has not been involved. TMZ has also further reported that the child abuse allegations have been transferred to the FBI.
- Brad gets a lawyer. On Sept. 22, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the actor enlisted help from Lance Spiegel, a family law attorney from Beverly Hills, for his upcoming divorce.
- The FBI releases an official statement. On Sept. 22, the FBI responded to Brad's child abuse investigation in a statement to Us Weekly saying, "In response to your inquiry regarding allegations within the special aircraft jurisdiction of the United States; specifically, an aircraft carrying Mr. Brad Pitt and his children, the FBI is continuing to gather facts and will evaluate whether an investigation at the federal level will be pursued."
- Brad Pitt backs out of an event and releases another statement. On Sept. 27, Brad revealed he wouldn't be attending a previously planned screening of Terrence Malick's Voyage of Time. "I'm currently focused on my family situation and don't want to distract attention away from this extraordinary film," he said.
- Brad offers to take a drug test. In an effort to prove he has nothing to hide, Brad agreed to a drug test, according to a report from Us Weekly on Sept. 28. A legal source confirmed that the test would not not be conducted against Brad's will, stating, "The DCFS [Department of Community & Family Services] wouldn't compel someone to provide the urine sample for the drug test; it would be voluntary."
- Angelina hires the real-life Olivia Pope for her divorce. On Sept. 29, People confirmed that the actress hired famous crisis manager Judy Smith, who inspired Kerry Washington's character in Scandal, to help with her divorce. "Judy has been asked to consult with those working with Angelina on divorce negotiations," a source told the magazine. "Judy and her firm have a long history of handling issues that have unfortunately garnered too much attention in the public eye, and she knows how to push towards resolutions that are swift and discreet."
- Brad and Angelina reach a temporary custody agreement. On Sept. 30, it was revealed that the former couple reached a temporary custody agreement, which will be in effect for three weeks before the LA County Department of Children and Family Services will draw up another arrangement or turn the jurisdiction over to the court. The agreement states that Angelina will get full physical custody of their children and Brad will have visitation rights, although hist first visit will be monitored by a therapist, who will determine if he is allowed to then have unsupervised time with the kids. Angelina and Brad also have to attend individual counseling as well as family counseling with the kids, and Brad has to take random drug and alcohol tests.
- Brad won't be prosecuted for alleged plane incident with Angelina and Maddox. On Oct. 8, it was reported that the FBI never opened an investigation against Brad because there was "no case," though TMZ says the FBI is still working on gathering all the facts from the incident.
- Brad sees his kids for the first time since announcing the split. E! News confirmed that Brad was able to visit some of his children on Oct. 8, with a therapist present to monitor his behavior. It's not clear which of the kids were present and which weren't, but a second source also told E! that the therapist would be present for all of Brad's visits through Oct. 20 and that the actor happily volunteered to complete drug and alcohol testing (even though it was not required).
- Maddox Jolie-Pitt refuses to attend the reunion with his dad. While Brad reportedly "wanted to make sure the meeting would be the most productive for the kids," Maddox refused to attend the family reunion and stay with Angelina. According to a source close to Angelina, "He chose not to go and stayed with Angie," adding, "It wasn't full of joy and happiness."
- Angelina and the children are reportedly interviewed by the FBI. In an attempt to get to the bottom of the alleged physical altercation that happened between Brad and Maddox on the plane, the FBI reportedly visited Angelina and the kids at their Malibu, CA, home on Oct. 19, according to TMZ. Law enforcement, who is taking the allegations of child abuse seriously, spent three hours interviewing everyone about the incident. Brad was not present for the interview.
- Brad and Maddox reunite. After a month-long standoff, E! News reports that the two met on Oct. 20 with a therapist present.
- Brad and Angelina are selling Chateau Miraval. According to Us Weekly, Brad and Angelina have put their estate and vineyard in the village of Correns, France up for sale. "The home has been valued and is going on the market any day now," an insider revealed, adding, "It currently says Jolie-Pitt on the Chateau Miraval bottles, and the next season's batch will have a new reprinted label with no names written on it."
- Angelina meets with the FBI. Angelina reportedly met with two FBI agents in her rented home for four hours on Oct. 18, answering questions about the claims made against Brad.
- The investigation into Brad is extended. On Oct. 25, Us Weekly reported that the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has extended their investigation into Brad Pitt. The investigators are looking into "whether there are additional incidents or a pattern that may suggest a history of abuse that involves more than one of Pitt and Angelina Jolie's six children." The investigation was initially scheduled to conclude on Oct. 20.
- Brad seeks joint custody. NBC News confirmed on Nov. 4 that the actor has filed for joint physical custody of the children. Angelina initially asked for sole custody when they first split, just allowing Brad visitation rights. Although that might have only been a part of the temporary custody agreement that was originally agreed to by a judge, the allegations made against Brad regarding child abuse certainly complicate things.
- Brad and Angelina reach another temporary custody agreement. On Nov. 7, Angelina's rep told ET in a statement that "childcare professionals have encouraged a legal agreement accepted and signed by both sides over a week ago." The agreement states that "the six children will stay in their mother's custody, and the children will continue therapeutic visits with their father . . . This has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest." Her rep continued, "We are not in a position to discuss the details. We hope, now that it is clear that the events which led to the dissolution filing involved minor children and their wellbeing, there will be understanding of the sensitivity of the family situation. We believe that all sides are committed to healing the family and ask for your consideration during this difficult time."
- Brad has been cleared in child abuse investigation. On Nov. 9, law enforcement sources confirmed to Us Weekly that Brad did not abuse his son Maddox during a plane incident back in September. TMZ also reported that the Department of Children and Family Services ruled out any reports of any patterns of misconduct on the actor's part. Later that day, Angelina's rep released a statement to TMZ, saying, "Angelina said from the beginning that she felt she had to take action for the health of the family and is relieved that after their eight-week involvement, the DCFS is now satisfied the safeguards are put in place that will allow the children to heal."
- The FBI closes Brad's child abuse investigation. On Nov. 22, the Allied actor was officially cleared by the FBI of any wrongdoing involving his kids, NBC News reported. FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller released a statement, saying, "The FBI has conducted a review of the circumstances and will not pursue further investigation. No charges have been filed in this matter."
- Brad's lawyers file a motion asking a judge to seal the childrens' records as it relates to the divorce. On Dec. 22, news of the files were released, alleging that Angelina's attorneys compromised their privacy in a bid to "undercut" Brad during the custody battle. They added that Angelina releasing "the names of [the children's] therapists and other mental health professionals" violated their initial agreement to protect the children's privacy. "[She] appears to be determined to ignore even agreed upon standards relating to the children's best interest," the filing reads.
- Brad spends Christmas with his kids. According to Us Weekly, Brad saw his children over the holiday weekend for a gift exchange that Angelina organized. An insider told the publication that "[Brad] gave them presents and it was cordial."
- Angelina's lawyer slams Brad. According to TMZ, Angelina agreed to seal court documents related to their six children. The site also reports that the actress's lawyer filed legal documents that claim Brad only wants to keep the details private because he's "terrified that the public will learn the truth." "[Brad is trying to] deflect from [his] own role in the media storm which has engulfed the parties' children," the document reads. "There is little doubt that [Brad] would prefer to keep the entire case private, particularly given the detailed investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dept. of Children and Family Services into allegation of abuse."

The More You Look at Emily Ratajkowski's Bikini, the More You'll Want it
Remember that time all the models packed their bikinis for a girl's trip to the Bahamas? We definitely do, and it seems Emily Ratajkowski was reminiscing about that week when she shared a throwback snap of herself. Wearing a white Solid & Striped two piece, Emily showed all the signs of a lady on vacay: bronzed, sun kissed, and of course surrounded by luscious greenery.
The white scoop-neck bikini was only one of the swimsuits Emily had packed for the getaway. It was simple (no prints or fancy details) and versatile - the type you never get tired of wearing. The suit is almost as classic as the triangle bikini, which is why we figure you best invest in one now. Shop Emily's exact piece or similar versions ahead.
Watch Jamie Foxx Prove He Could Be an Amazing Sports Illustrated Model
In addition to being a doting dad, a superstar actor, and a literal lifesaver, Jamie Foxx can also add "Potential Sports Illustrated Model" to his résumé. The Sleepless star stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, where he revealed he recently gained quite a bit of weight. "Next thing you know, my belly got wrong," he joked with Ellen, before showing off a photo of his stomach pre weight loss. We personally find him insanely hot at any size, but with the help of his trainer, he's back to his typically trim self. To prove it, he got down on the floor and busted out a few magazine-cover-worthy poses, which no doubt had the audience drooling just a bit. If that didn't do it, his hilariously accurate impression of Denzel Washington as an action movie hero (at the 3:15-minute mark, FYI) definitely did the trick.
Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell Make a Splash With Their Sunny Family Vacation
Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell kicked off 2017 by taking a relaxing vacation with their 8-year-old twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie. The couple, who have been married for nine years, shared a number of photos from their trip on social media, including one hilarious snap of Jerry and his daughters falling off their paddle board. "Feel free to zoom in on @mrjerryoc face," his wife captioned the shot. This isn't the first time the family of four have started the New Year with a tropical getaway. Last January, the pair had no qualms about showing off their equally impressive abs as they lounged by the water with their kids. These two certainly make one beautiful couple.
25 Times Kim Changed Her Outfit - and Kanye Wore His Sweatshirt
As a music icon, budding designer, and pop culture fixture, Kanye West has accomplished a lot in his career. But there may be no professional feat quite so noteworthy as his epic makeover of wife Kim Kardashian. We firmly believe that Kanye is the man behind each and every one of her high-fashion looks, and every time Kim steps out in Balmain, Lanvin, or Balenciaga to sit front row, stroll around Paris, or just snap a selfie, we have to give Kanye credit.
We're also starting to suspect that dressing Kim must be even more exhausting than keeping up with her outfits, because while she's all dolled up, it's come to our attention that Kanye is just the opposite. For every skintight pencil skirt or belly-baring crop top Kim gets zipped into, Kanye's chilling in a casual sweatshirt. Here, relive all the times that Kim changed her designer duds and Kanye happily wore his hoodie.
Boy in Wheelchair Got to Have an Ice Skating Experience His Dad Didn't Think Was Possible
When Doug De Luca and his family visited the Union Square ice skating rink in New York City, he was unsure if his son would be able to participate due to his disabilities. Doug watched his other kids skate by while he waited with Nicco, who doesn't walk or talk, until a woman named Janet approached the family and offered to take Nicco out on the ice.
After Doug graciously accepted the offer, Janet, with the help of a young man named Chris, brought Nicco to the edge of the ice in his stroller. Chris then pushed him around and around the rink along with the other kids.
"You can see the joy in our son's face and in his laughter," Doug shared on Frank Somerville's Facebook page. "It is not often we see this type of compassion towards our son, and it touched us very deeply. On behalf of my family and friends we would like to send a big THANK YOU to all of these amazing and kind individuals."

The Only Thing Cuter Than Jessica Biel's Dance Moves Is Justin Timberlake's Reaction to Them
Seeing as Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are almost unbearably cute, it should come as no surprise that their date night on Tuesday had everyone around them in stitches. The PDA-friendly pair hit the Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Memphis Grizzlies, where Jessica supported the home team by busting a move in the stands. Justin danced and laughed behind her, and also made sure to sneak in a few kisses. Naturally the people around them couldn't help but giggle along with him. Later on, the "Can't Stop the Feeling" singer showed off his own basketball prowess by making a few incredibly hard shots, which he documented on Instagram. Although it might not have been as romantic as their recent vacation to the Caribbean, it sure beats a boring night in playing Scrabble, right?
