I Was Terrified of Masks and Peels, but This 1 Product Changed My Mind

To say my skin is reactive would be an understatement. Anything from temperature change to a quick rinse turns my face beet red without fail. For that reason, I steer clear of unfamiliar products and treatments, especially ones with acid. It's not that I don't want to take advantage of these beneficial solutions - I'm just too afraid of upsetting my sensitive skin.

When I received my January POPSUGAR Must Have box and saw Dr. Goldfaden's Fresh A Peel Multi Acid Resurfacing Peel, I was intrigued. The lactic acid peel is formulated to remove dead skin cells and reduce the appearance of imperfections. It's also meant to solve a problem that I face all year: uneven skin texture. It sounded too good to pass up.

The timing couldn't have been more perfect, because in the New Year I resolve to conquer my fear. It would be a shame to continue passing up the opportunity to improve my complexion and reveal brighter, healthier-looking skin. I've longed to find an all-encompassing product that I can tolerate, so I took a leap of faith and tried it.

After using the peel three times a week for two or so weeks, I loved so many things about it. Firstly, it didn't smell overpoweringly like chemicals. The gel formula was extremely lightweight and didn't make my skin feel tight while it worked its magic. I was also thrilled with the fact that it only needed to be left on for one to three minutes - that's it! I smoothed it over my face and neck, brushed my teeth, and by the time I was done, it was time to rinse it off.

The best part by far was that while my face did turn a bit red, it wasn't at all irritated. It was exfoliated and refreshed, which is exactly what my dry Winter skin was thirsty for. Using the peel has convinced me that I can broaden my horizons when it comes to caring for my skin - all it takes is the right product.

My advice to those who can identify with my struggle is to give things a chance. Know your ingredients, talk to a dermatologist, stay true to your skin, and when in doubt, try a patch test on your inner forearm. You'll never find the treatment that works unless you stay optimistic and open-minded and keep trying.

Girl Meets World Has Been Canceled: "We Gave It Our Best"

Girl Meets World has become the first TV casualty of 2017. The Twitter account for the show's writers announced the news on Wednesday, confirming that season three will be the show's final season. There are still three episodes left, which will air in January: "World Meets Girl" is a fan-focused episode, "Girl Meets Sweet Sixteen" will show Riley's 16th birthday, and the last episode, "Girl Meets Goodbye," sounds all the more poignant given the news. Here's the announcement in full.

Rider Strong (aka Shawn) unofficially broke the news via a Dec. 24 episode of his podcast. "We finished the third season of Girl Meets World," he said. "My brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple, and the show ended."

The series finale will include appearances by many of the original cast members, including Strong, William Daniels (Mr. Feeny), Will Friedle (Eric), William Russ (Alan), Betsy Randle (Amy), Anthony Tyler Quinn (Mr. Turner), Lee Norris (Minkus), Danny McNulty (Harley), and both Lily Nicksay (Morgan, 1993-1995) and Lindsay Ridgeway (Morgan, 1996-2000).

Here's What It Means When a Recipe Calls For Salted Boiling Water

In culinary school, the first rule a student learns is how to properly salt boiling water. First, boil the water (with a lid). Don't add the salt to the cold water! The reason for this is salt increases the boiling point of water, so it will take longer for it to come to a boil. That's minutes of your life you can't get back, y'all. Once big fat boiling bubbles appear in the water, remove the lid and toss the salt in. How much salt exactly? Enough so that the water should taste like the ocean, but if you're not really interested slurping a teaspoons of salty water to taste, here's the ratio to remember:

1 tablespoon salt to 1 quart (4 cups) water

As you can see from the photo, I usually use a heaping tablespoon, but I also like my pasta and boiled veggies on the saltier side. Once the water is salted, it's ready for the pasta or veggies you're looking to boil.

Remember When Eva Longoria and America Ferrera Said What Latinas in Hollywood Had Been Dying to Say?

We will never forget that time Eva Longoria and America Ferrera went there at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards. The actresses, who were promoting their shows Telenovela and Superstore, gave a hilarious follow-up to Ricky Gervais's sassy introduction to their presenting slot.

"Eva Longoria and America Ferrera aren't just beautiful, talented actresses. They are also two people who your future president, Donald Trump, can't wait to deport," Gervais said (seriously) before two of our TV favorites took center stage. And that's when they went in, poking fun at the fact that Latinas in Hollywood are so often mistaken for each other - remember that awkward America/Gina Rodriguez Golden Globes Twitter snafu? It. Got. Real. This is how their hilarious mini-speech went:

Eva: Yes, hi, I'm Eva Longoria, not Eva Mendes.

America: And hi, I'm America Ferrera, not Gina Rodriguez.

[Camera pans to Gina]

Eva (not Mendes): And neither of us are Rosario Dawson.

America: Nope. Well said, Salma.

Eva: Thank you, Charo.

Mic drop!

The Grisly Facts of the Menendez Brothers' Murder Case, Nearly 28 Years Later

This year marks 28 years since Erik and Lyle Menendez brutally murdered their mother and father in the family's Southern California home, putting the wheels in motion for one of the most infamous trials of the 20th century. ABC is drudging up the disturbing case for a primetime special, Truth and Lies: The Menéndez Brothers - American Sons, American Murderers, airing on Jan. 5. On the off-chance that you're not familiar with the case, here's a brief overview of the very complicated crime.

Who Are the Menendez Brothers?

Joseph Lyle and Erik Galen, born in 1968 and 1970 respectively, were children of privilege. Their father José worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the CEO of the (now defunct) film studio LIVE Entertainment. Their mother, Mary Louise "Kitty" Andersen, was a stay-at-home mother. The family lived in Chicago and New Jersey before relocating to the affluent suburb of Calabasas, CA, in 1987. Lyle got into Princeton, but was suspended after being accused of plagiarism. Both boys - who were unusually close - were bred to be tennis pros, and their father pushed them to be the best.

The Murders

On the night of Aug. 20, 1989, José and Kitty were relaxing in their den, watching the James Bond flick The Spy Who Loved Me. Lyle and Erik ambushed them from behind, shooting José in the back of the head and crippling Kitty with a gunshot wound to the leg when she tried to run. They shot her so many times that her face was unrecognizable by the time police arrived on the scene. Because of their father's alleged ties to organized crime, the brothers tried to make it look like a mob hit by shooting out their parents' kneecaps. After the deed was done, they went to the movies and met up with some friends to provide an alibi. Later that night, Lyle called the police, screaming that someone had killed his parents.

The Aftermath

While investigators initially had no reason to suspect Erik and Lyle, the brothers started exhibiting strange behavior for people whose parents had been recently murdered. Lyle went on a spending spree, buying a Porsche and a buffalo wings restaurant in New Jersey. Erik when to Israel to compete in tennis tournaments. They went on extravagant trips together, wracking up over half a million dollars in purchases in the months after their parents' deaths. Unable to take the guilt, Erik confessed to the murder in a session with his psychiatrist. The psychiatrist's girlfriend overheard the conversation, and went to the police when the relationship fell apart. The brothers were arrested in March of 1990.

The Trial

In the courtroom, Lyle and Erik showed little remorse for what they'd done. A damning piece from the LA Times detailed, "The brothers, appearing at a series of evidentiary hearings in recent weeks, have appeared at ease, smiling at their girlfriends and relatives who show up for support." However, as more and more evidence began to pile up, the unbelievable truth came out. They had gotten the idea to kill their parents from the movie The Billionaire Boys Club. Erik had even written a screenplay with his friend; the movie was about a rich kid who murders his parents to inherit their fortune. The brothers searched for a pitiable motive, alleging that their father molested them. The juries (one for Lyle and one for Erik) failed to agree on a verdict, resulting in a mistrial.

While the first trial was highly publicized thanks to the new channel CourtTV (aka TruTV), the second trial gained far less attention. Another reason the Menendez brothers fell out of the public eye? America had moved onto another high-profile murder case: that of O.J. Simpson, who had been accused of killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman. While the public had lost much of their initial interest in the brothers, Erik and Lyle were convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 1996. Their appeals have been denied, and they have no chance of parole.

Lyle Menendez is currently serving his time at the Mule Creek State Prison in California, while Erik is residing 200 miles away in a cell in the Pleasant Valley State Prison.

6 Places Kate Middleton Lived Before Becoming a Princess

Kate Middleton hasn't always resided in a 10-bedroom country estate or 21-room apartment at Kensington Palace. Long before meeting and marrying Prince William, Kate was just a regular girl who moved around with her family, studied abroad, lived in college dorms, and even shared a flat with her little sister. Here are all the places Kate lived before her life became a royal one.

  1. Berkshire, England: Kate was born to parents Michael and Carole Middleton at the ironically named Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The upper-middle-class family lived in a modest, brick Victorian "with a cramped kitchen" in Bradfield Southend. They later purchased at Oak Acre, a five-bedroom Tudor-style country house in nearby Bucklebury, Berkshire.
  2. Amman, Jordan: While working as a flight dispatcher for British Airways, Michael and his family were relocated to Jordan. Kate lived there from 1984 to 1987.
  1. Wiltshire, England: Kate studied at Marlborough College, a coed boarding school, in 1996.
  2. Florence, Italy: After finishing her studies at Marlborough, 18-year-old Kate headed to Florence to study Italian and art history. She completed a three-month course at the British Institute of Florence in Palazzo dello Strozzino.
  3. Fife, Scotland: In 2001, Kate moved to Scotland to study at the University of St. Andrews and lived in three areas of on-campus student housing. It was at one of them, St Salvator's Hall, that she met Prince William. She went on to graduate with a master's degree in art history.
  4. London, England: Postcollege, Kate accepted a position as an accessory buyer with British retailer Jigsaw and moved into a flat in London's exclusive Chelsea neighborhood with her sister Pippa; Carole and Michael Middleton purchased the apartment in 2002 for all three of their children to live in. Pippa continued to reside there with their brother James well after Kate married Will and moved to a four-bedroom farmhouse on the Welsh island of Anglesey.

A Not-So-Unfortunate Chat With the Young Breakout Stars of A Series of Unfortunate Events

For anyone who's read Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, the first character that probably comes to mind is Count Olaf. The outlandish, despicable villain might be what gives the novels its flash, but the plucky Baudelaire siblings whom he lives to terrorize are the ones who give it its heart. In light of Netflix's take on Snicket's wildly popular series debuting on the streaming giant on Friday, Jan. 13th (apt, no?), we sat down with Violet and Klaus Baudelaire's real-life alter-egos: the extremely talented Malina Weissman, 13, and Louis Hynes, 15. From what die-hard fans should expect from their beloved characters, to what it's really like to spend all day on set with Neil Patrick Harris, Weissman and Hynes were more than happy to discuss every single tragic, miserable, unfortunate bit.

POPSUGAR: When you're watching the show, it has a cartoonish feel in some ways, a little larger than life. Did you guys have to shoot a lot with green screen?

Malina Weissman: Sort of! They built a lot of amazing sets, but sometimes they used green screen. Lemony Snicket, played by Patrick Warburton, had a few green screens in the scenes that he did.

Louis Hynes: They designed these huge sets, one which had almost an entire town in it. I think there was a lot of green screen around, but at the same time, a lot of it was genuinely there, which was really helpful for us, of course.

PS: Yeah, that must've made it way easier to picture yourselves in that bizarre kind of world.

MW: Oh definitely.

PS: The show comes across as whimsical one minute, and the next Count Olaf's character is doing something truly awful, like slapping Klaus in the face, or forcing Violet to be a child bride. Do you think the show is aimed more at kids, or adults?

MW: I think it's for both. Adults, if they've read the books when they were little, it's awesome to see it become this TV show. For kids, they can relate to Klaus and Violet, and how they'd behave if they were in their situation.

LH: There are quite dark themes, as well, which will appeal to the adults. And the kids, as well. It's like a dark comedy. It's got some humorous bits, but it can get really dark.

MW: It has the kinds of jokes that only the adults are probably going to get, in some of it.

PS: Since Neil Patrick Harris is playing Count Olaf, this over-the-top villain, did he go method on set and keep his distance from the two of you?

LH: I think he was very focused, so in a way he did. He'd have to be, since he's playing somebody playing somebody . . . doing two characters at once. I think that made it really interesting to watch him work, to learn from him, and find out how he works.

MW: Definitely.

PS: You both are pretty young actors, so what was it like to be acting alongside Neil Patrick Harris, who's been in the business for so long?

MW: I think watching him work, talking to the director, and seeing how he feels the character should be. . .we've learned so much.

LH: He really teaches you to just go with your instinct, and to try things out. Try something, and if it doesn't work, do it again in a different way. It was interesting for me to learn that from him, in that sense.

PS: There are a lot of great scenes throughout the season that seem like they must've been so much fun to film. Do any stand out in your memory as your favorite? Or maybe the most challenging for you?

MW: The wedding scene is my favorite, for sure. The first day was my favorite, and then the second day the dress started to get a little annoying, but the first day of it was so fun. They took us to this theater, and Neil was dressed up in this crazy costume, and everyone else was in such cool costumes . . . it was really awesome.

LH: There's a scene with Justice Strauss, who's played by Joan Cusack, and Count Olaf, so it's these really good, really established actors, who know what they're doing, and know their art really well. It's fascinating to watch them play off each other. It was absolutely hilarious watching them.

PS: So when you aren't busy playing Violet and Klaus, what's your favorite way to kick back and forget about Count Olaf?

LH: I really love music, so back home I play a lot of bass guitar.

MW: Even just sitting in my room and watching TV, and being able to be by myself is nice.

PS: Do you have any favorite Netflix shows? Other than your own, of course.

MW: Ooh, that's hard.

LH: I really love Stranger Things! And Black Mirror is absolutely incredible.

MW: Fuller House, I do love Fuller House so much. A lot of Netflix shows are awesome.

LH: They're just so well done.

Watch the incredibly well done A Series of Unfortunate Events (if you dare) when it hits Netflix on Jan. 13!

6 Disturbing Bombshells From Leah Remini's Scientology Documentary Series

Image Source: Getty / Noam Galai

When you think of Scientology, a few people probably come to mind: Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and Leah Remini. While Cruise and Travolta are partly known for their unwavering devotion to the "church," Remini publicly split from Scientology in 2013. After having doubts about things the church was doing and questioning the church's leader, David Miscavige (which is apparently a big no-no) about the unknown whereabouts of his wife, the actress had had enough.

In addition to speaking out about her experiences with interviews and a book, Remini decided to dive even further into uncovering the church's corrupt reality with her A&E documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. On the show, she travels around the country with Mike Rinder, Scientology's former senior executive and one of David Miscavige's right-hand men, to talk to former church members about the horrors they allegedly endured over the years (the church denies all claims made in the show). See the biggest bombshells below, which include forced abortion and physical abuse.

  1. The church's leader, David Miscavige, reportedly beats his staff. Several former church members have spoken out on the show about the physical abuse they endured at the hands of Miscavige (he's 5'1", by the way). All of the situations they described include the church leader's attitude changing at the drop of a hat and him punching, shoving, and choking them in front of other Scientology staff members. Whenever someone even looked like they were about to fight back, a group of Miscavige's men would swoop in and immediately remove that person from the building. One former church member, Jeff Hawkins, recalled that Miscavige looked at him after physically assaulting him and said, "Do you know why I did that? To remind you who's boss."
  2. Women in the Sea Org are reportedly forced to have abortions if they get pregnant. In the show's fifth episode, Remini sits down with Marc Headley, a former event coordinator and video producer for Scientology, and his wife Claire, a former Sea Org member. While working in the Sea Org, a now-land-based organization of the church's most dedicated members that control management operations, and living at the church's international headquarters in Hemet, CA, Claire became pregnant with their first child. But since Claire alleges that Scientology thinks women in the Sea Org that get pregnant actively want to leave, she was forced to get an abortion. "If a woman got pregnant, she would instantly be scheduled to go and get an abortion," she said. "If she refused in any manner, she would be segregated, not allowed to speak with her husband, put under security watch, put on heavy manual labor, and interrogated for her crimes." Marc and Claire managed to narrowly escape the church (he says he was run off the road by church members in an SUV; she says she snuck out of Walmart and hopped on a bus), but that will never take away their pain. "I can go, 'Well, now I have three beautiful children who are my life,'" she continued. "But it doesn't make me feel better about not being strong enough to tell them to go f*ck themselves."

  1. Despite escaping the church, some people are reportedly still tracked down and brought back. Claire and Marc also went into detail about the heavy security that Sea Org members are reportedly under when they live at the base in Hemet. In addition to security cameras being everywhere, their outgoing mail is always read before being sent, they are on strict meal schedules, and the fence that surrounds the property has large spikes on both sides, which prevents anyone from entering or leaving. Claire revealed that when her friend tried to escape, she fell in a ditch outside the property and was brought right back in by church members and put on heavy labor duty. She also said she knew one member who fled all the way to South Africa, where he was tracked down and brought back.
  2. Private investigators reportedly hired by Scientology followed Remini during the filming of the show. In the fifth episode of the show, Remini and Rinder are driving when they notice a suspicious-looking car close by. After signaling to the car several times that he can pass, he refuses. When they pull up next to him and ask him who he is, he says he works for TMZ, but suspiciously doesn't have a camera and quickly drives away. When they then pull into their hotel, two men are sitting in the lobby with their phones pointed at Remini's car. The hotel manager asks if they are guests, and they both quickly get up to leave. Rinder confronts them, they act like they don't know anything, and Remini later reveals that one of the men is a private investigator (oh, and the TMZ guy was driving the PI's wife's car).
  3. Church members will spend thousands of dollars trying to reach the highest level of spirituality in Scientology. Scientology was founded by a man named L. Ron Hubbard, who believed that you need to clear yourself of your "reactive mind" in order to advance up "the Bridge of Total Freedom." People do this through auditing sessions, where a Scientology auditor asks the person a series of questions while they hold two metal cans attached to a machine. The machine tells the auditor if the person is telling the truth, and in order to continue to grow spiritually, church members have to pay for expensive courses in order to improve. It also should be noted that L. Ron Hubbard holds the Guinness World Record for most published works by one author (and they're mostly science fiction) . . .
  4. If you leave the church, you will most likely lose your entire family. If a member of the church speaks out against Scientology or decides to leave, they will be labeled a "suppressive person" (watch Tom Cruise talk about it at the 4:29 mark). If the rest of that person's family is still in the church, they will be pressured to disconnect from that person, which means cutting off all communication and essentially never seeing them again.

The season finale of Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath airs on A&E on Jan. 10.

The Foolproof Method to Getting Perfectly Medium-Rare Steak Every Time

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Anna Monette Roberts

Steak: delicious to eat, sometimes complicated to make. And if you, like most people, prefer yours cooked medium rare, you've undoubtedly struggled with getting that perfect pink and juicy center. Allow me to introduce you to your new favorite way to determine your steak's doneness: the visual method. If you have clear vision and a clock nearby, you can cook a perfect steak, no thermometer or guessing-games required.

The visual method means you look for something very specific as your steak is grilling: beads of juice that form on the sides and the top of the steak as it's cooking. This usually takes about six minutes on the first side and about five on the next, so that's why it's helpful to keep an eye on the time. I learned this cooking method from an expert at Omaha Steaks, and I can guarantee you it works.

Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Erin Cullum

First thing's first, though - make sure you oil your meat, not the grill. This ensures the steak is evenly coated and the seasoning (whether it's steak seasoning or a generous amount of salt and pepper) will stick to the meat. Then, once your grill is preheated to 500°F-600°F, place your steak on the grill and keep it closed. After six minutes, you'll want to open it up and look for those glistening beads of juice. If they haven't started forming, keep checking periodically over the next minute until it looks ready to flip, and repeat for about another five minutes. When the other side starts to sweat, that's when you know it's time to take it off the grill and - most important! - let it rest for five whole minutes before cutting into it to lock the juices inside.

Then your perfectly medium-rare steak is ready to be devoured. Happy grilling!

12 of the Best Free Products on the Internet

While you probably know about some of the free things on the Internet, we think you should know about the very best. All of these ideas come courtesy of Reddit and one of its most popular threads ever, titled "What free stuff on the internet should everyone be taking advantage of?" Ahead, we narrowed it down to the most useful products and services around. Be prepared to bookmark most, if not all, of these.

  1. Watch entertaining documentaries - While we have no problem binge-watching television on Netflix, Documentary Heaven is a good alternative when you're in the mood for something more serious. There are plenty to choose from, and the site also has a "Most Popular This Week" tab if you want to make a quick decision.
  2. Score ebooks - If you're any kind of bookworm, Project Gutenberg is about to become your new favorite site. Here you can find over 49,000 free ebooks to pick from, and the download process is seamless.
  3. Save money with coupons - No matter if you're a frequent shopper or not, RetailMeNot is a site to always check before making online purchases. There's almost always a coupon to choose that will help save you some cash, which, in our books, is never a bad thing.
  4. Become fluent in a new language - Say goodbye to Rosetta Stone and hello to Duolingo, an app that lets you learn a variety of languages like Spanish and Dutch. It's easy to use and actually feels like you're learning a language you could use in the real world.
  5. Take any class - There's never an end to learning and Coursera offers classes from many universities like Stanford and Duke. You don't have to follow a schedule and can choose any of the topics available. (There are other similar sites to check out as well.)
  6. Learn how to code - If computer science has ever interested you or you're wondering what it even is, Codecademy can teach you everything. Choose from a variety of topics, like how to create a website or improving your HTML skills. Best of all, it's easy to use.
  7. Edit photos without Photoshop - Whether you want to professionally edit photos or just touch up something, Pixlr is an awesome site. You can work in layers, with a paint bucket tool, and more - so you don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on Photoshop. (Check out all these other free photo-editing websites too.)
  8. Manage your money - Like a clean overview of what's going on with your finances and budget plans? Mint helps keep track of all your spending, sets budgets and savings goals, and is all around a great tool to use your money more wisely.
  9. Listen to audiobooks - Similar to Project Gutenberg, LibriVox uses volunteers to record audiobooks in the public domain. There are over 8,000 audiobooks to choose from and, of course, you can volunteer yourself.
  10. Recycle used items - Reduce, reuse, and recycle items with Freecycle, a website dedicated to connecting people locally to goods. It's like Craigslist, but more sustainable.
  11. Get advice from someone who cares - Sometimes, there are days when you just need to talk about your life and 7 Cups of Tea is there for you. You can speak to "trained active listeners" that keep your conversation totally anonymous while helping you out through any situation.
  12. Keep passwords in one spot - Instead of writing down your passwords on a piece of paper, keep them secure online with LastPass. You can store tons of passwords and never worry again about getting locked out of an account.

If for any reason these still aren't enough, you can check out another list full of more services to explore. Seriously, what did we do before the Internet was around?

5 Juicy Details Ross Butler Revealed About The CW's Archie Reboot, Riverdale

Image Source: Getty / JB Lacroix

Pumped about The CW's Archie reboot, Riverdale? So are we. The premiere is a few weeks away, and we already have a few exciting details about the highly anticipated new show. POPSUGAR recently had a chance to sit down with Ross Butler, who plays Archie's rival, Reggie Mantle, and he filled us in on the show's '80s connection, how he bonded with fellow Disney Channel alum Cole Sprouse, and whether or not fans of the comics will be satisfied with the adaptation. Here's what we learned!

1. You Don't Have to Be a Fan of the Comics to Enjoy the Show

While the characters will stay the same, the general theme is a lot darker than the original. "The older fans will appreciate it, but for the new fans, it's a completely different story," Butler said. "It plays on the old relationships, but it doesn't stick to them."

2. The Show Will Definitely Have Some '80s Vibes

Even though the series will be modernized, Butler admitted that it will remind you of John Hughes's films. "It's very coming-of-age," he added. "The characters and the relationships - that's pretty much what everyone loves about John Hughes movies - so that's what we'll be exploring." Fitting, seeing as '80s icon Molly Ringwald will be playing Archie's mom.

3. He Knew KJ Apa Before Filming

Apa, who plays Archie, actually screen-tested with Butler for the upcoming Power Rangers movie. "So, we instantly had a connection," Butler explained. "Our character relationship makes for a good real-life relationship, because I'm always ragging on him. He's young and he's doing so well, so I got to make sure that his head doesn't get too big."

4. He Bonded With Cole Sprouse Over Their Disney Roots

Butler said he had a few chats about Disney Channel with the Suite Life of Zack & Cody star, who is playing Jughead. "Being from Disney, we feel like we're from the same family," he said. "We were raised in the century with the same values. Even though he got into it much younger than I did, I saw a lot of characteristics that were similar. It was interesting to hear his perspective on things now that we're both on The CW. It's just much darker content now."

5. He Was Nervous About Taking On the Role of Reggie

Since the comics have such a widespread fan base, Butler admitted that he was a bit anxious about playing Reggie. "It's a lot to live up to," he said. "The older generation, obviously, there's a huge fan base, and then the newer generation, this is a bit of a new introduction to it. I guess I was more excited than nervous, just because it is such a reinvention of the story and characters."

4 Reasons Jon Snow Will Ultimately Win the Game of Thrones

Going into the final seasons of Game of Thrones, one big question seems to loom above all the rest: who will win the Iron Throne? There are plenty of hats to throw into the ring. Cersei Lannister and all of her delightful madness are currently hoarding the crown, and it may very well stay that way. Additionally, it would be remiss to leave out Daenerys Targaryen, who has seemingly been vying for the throne since episode one and may be more crucial than we realize. At this point, though, we're placing our bets on Jon Snow, and we've got plenty of evidence to explain why.

1. He Fits the Prophecy of Azor Ahai

Avid watchers are very familiar with "The Prince What Was Promised," a phrase often uttered by Melisandre. The Red Priestess has hawked this prophecy all over Westeros, and popular consensus seems to be that The Prince is the reincarnated Azor Ahai. Like the Prince, Jon Snow was technically born of salt (in his mother's tears) and smoke (the carnage from the battle at the Tower of Joy). If Jon Snow is the great hero who will bring about the end of the White Walkers, how could he not assume the throne thereafter?

2. He Literally Came Back From the Dead

If Jon Snow can actually cheat death (with a little help from Melisandre), it's almost as if he's under the protection of some higher power. If he can survive this, what can't he do? Perhaps he's destined to rise to power.

3. He Has Astounding Leadership Abilities

Jon Snow's decisions in the past few seasons prove he's got a good head on his shoulders. He is fair and always seems to act in accordance with the law of the land, something he very likely gleaned from the late Ned Stark. Plus, he will bravely fight for what he believes in; he goes headfirst into the Battle of the Bastards without a second of consideration. These are marks of a world leader. The fact that he's already assumed his role as King of the North proves it.

4. He's a Targaryen, Meaning He's Entitled to the Throne

Last year, HBO dropped confirmation that the late Rhaegar Targaryen is Jon Snow's real father. This means, technically, Jon Snow is an heir to the Targaryen name. Here's where it gets interesting: Robert Baratheon's grandmother was a Targaryen. The fact that Targaryen blood is part of the royal lineage explains why Daenerys seems so hellbent on claiming the Iron Throne for herself. However, that was when Daenerys was presumably the only Targaryen left. With Jon Snow alive and a technical male heir to the Targaryen name, the Throne should be his.

These Comments About How "Sad" Daycare Is Will Have You Crying Laughing

Another day, another parent sharing their child-rearing opinions on social media. Luckily, the popular Facebook page Sanctimommy routinely calls out these "morally superior" people for their unnecessary and often rude judgments about other people's parenting choices. Seriously, I had actual tears in my eyes as I scrolled through while both of my kids sat cold and alone in the corner of an overpriced and overstimulating childcare center where they feed them sugary fruit and force them to read books. The Crazy-Cool Reason This Bath Bomb Could Be Worth $5,000

They're not just about relaxation and hydration anymore - bath bombs are getting incredibly advanced. Recently, we learned of a Harry Potter-themed fizzy that acted as a substitute Sorting Hat, turning your bathwater the color of your chosen house. Now we've discovered treatments that have real, wearable rings tucked inside.

The genius range was founded by Tessa Medlock, whose boyfriend proposed to her via a ring within a homemade bath bomb (talk about #spousegoals!). Hoping others would experience the same magical experience, she developed her own company, Pearl Bath Bombs. Each fizzy, which ranges from $15 to $25, has a costume cocktail ring inside as well as a voucher with a code.

This code can be redeemed on the brand's site in a lottery-like system, through which you can win a ring valued up to a whopping $5,000 or points to earn more bombs and rings. The odds are pretty fabulous: one in 100 bathing beauties can win a $100 ring, while one in 1,000 can win one worth $1,000. Only one in 5,000 can win a $5,000 ring. Regardless, should you win, you'll be able to select your finger size, and then Pearl will send you your prize!

We're sure you are already itching to get your fingers on these bath bombs (as are we!), but only one thing can get you even more amped to shop: images of the possible rings inside. Read on - we hope you're feeling lucky.

9 Things Every Mom Should Know About Breastsleeping

As parents research the safest sleeping placements for their babies, many come across an unfamiliar term in the bed-sharing debate: breastsleeping.

Breastsleeping is simply cosleeping and breastfeeding throughout the night, and many find this is a less-disruptive nightly routine for both the mom and baby. Although the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies sleep in their parents' room for at least six months to decrease the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, they also warn against bed sharing as a dangerous practice. However, James McKenna, PhD, points out that there is a difference in safety between bottle-feeding and bed-sharing babies compared to those who breastsleep in safe environments.

"When a mother breastfeeds her baby and then bed shares, it's a much, much safer environment than if a mother were bottle-feeding and bed-sharing. We know that the breastsleeping mother/baby pair both sleep in lighter stages, which makes them more sensitive to the behavior of the other. When babies are bottle-fed, they move around a lot and have a much harder time waking up to breathe," wrote James, who is the director of the Mother-Baby Behavioral Sleep Laboratory at the University of Notre Dame.

Here's what parents need to know about the difference between cosleeping with a breastfed and bottle-fed baby.

The Easy Way to Block Contacts From Sending Messages or Calls

Whether it's a salesperson, frenemy, or someone you just need a digital break from for a bit, Apple lets you limit the communication received from the outside world. If you have people or unknown, annoying numbers that you'd prefer not to see messages or receive phone and Facetime calls from, follow the instructions below.

Add a Contact to the Blocked List

Block someone from calling or texting you one of two ways:

  • To block someone who has been added to your phone's Contacts, go to Settings > Phone > Call Blocking and Identification > Block Contact. The All Contacts window will appear where you can scroll through names to then tap the name of the contact you'd like to block. You'll be taken back to the Blocked window with the name added to the list of blocked contacts.

From Settings, contacts can also be blocked selecting either Messages or Facetime, and then following the above instructions.

  • In instances where you want to a block a number that isn't stored as a contact in your phone, go to the Phone app > Recents. Look for the number (or name) you'd like to block and tap the blue "i" with a circle around it to the right of the number. Scroll down to the bottom of the contact card that appears and select "Block This Caller." The message "You will not receive phone calls, messages, or FaceTime from people on the block list" will appear with two options: Block Contact or Cancel. Hit Block Contact to add the number to the big, bad blocked list.

Block from Messages by selecting the message thread with the contact and tapping the blue "i" in the upper right corner. Tap on their number and then proceed with the same instructions as in the Recents tab in Phone.

Unblock a Contact

Decide an acquaintance served their time on the blocked list and want to digitally revive them? Like adding someone to the blocked list, they can be removed two ways:

  • In Settings go to Phone > Call Blocking and Identification, where a list of blocked contacts and numbers will appear. Tap Edit in the top right hand corner. Then, tap the red delete button to the left of the name, which will cause a red unblock button appear. Select it, and the contact is restored to unblocked bucket, with all rights, privileges and honors appertaining thereto.

From Settings, contacts can be removed from a blocked list by selecting either Messages or Facetime, and then following the above instructions.

  • Find the contacts' name or the number you'd like to unblock in the Recents tab of the Phone app. Select the blue icon to the right of their name, then scroll down and tap "Unblock This Caller."

Unblock the contact via Messages by selecting the message thread with the contact, and tapping the little blue "i" in the upper right corner. Select the information icon, and proceed with the same instructions as in the Recents tab in Phone.

Will The Contact Know They're Blocked?

Short answer: no. But a perceptive friend might notice that they can never get a hold of you. When someone in your blocked list calls, they'll be immediately sent to voicemail. Any message left in voicemail will be put in a separate folder called "Blocked Messages," to which you can listen.

If the contact tries to send you a text or iMessage, from their end, it will look like the message was sent, though you - thanks to your craftiness - will not actually have to see the message.

Take note, blocking contacts goes one way, meaning you can still call, text, or FaceTime the numbers you've listed in Blocked. So if the blocking is also to limit yourself from communication with a certain person, better go ahead and delete their number completely from your phone.

Should you continue to get unwanted phone calls from spammers or marketing companies, consider adding your number to the National Do Not Call Registry.

Fisher-Price Is Releasing an Indoor Cycling Bike For Toddlers

As a parent in the modern day, encouraging your child to put down the tablet and spend some time outdoors can be a never-ending battle. Now, in an effort to encourage exercise and prevent childhood obesity, Fisher-Price has come up with a solution - the "Think & Learn Smart Cycle," which is an indoor cycling bike for kids. Just like we put peas in macaroni and cheese to get children to eat vegetables, putting a screen on top of a bike to encourage exercise seems like a suitable alternative.

Gizmodo reports that the Smart Cycle will cost $150 and can be connected to a tablet through Bluetooth or to a smart TV. Kids can control the games by the speed of their pedaling. Right now, there are four different educational games to help kids with reading, STEM, math, and social studies, and there are plans to introduce more applications in the future.

Although this does seem like a great way to keep kids learning while moving around, it brings up a bigger issue of putting pressure on kids to care about their weight and stay fit at such a young age, which could potentially have a negative effect on their body image as they grow. What do you think about the Smart Cycle?
