This Is Us: What Do You Think Happens to Toby?

We've come to expect tears from pretty much every episode of This Is Us, but nothing could emotionally prepare us for the Winter finale's big twist. December's episode left us reeling, as the final minutes show Toby having a heart attack and fighting for his life. Not surprisingly, the cast and crew behind the series have mum about Toby's fate, but all will be revealed (hopefully) when the show returns with new episodes on Tuesday night. The promo shows that we're getting another flashback, but nothing about Toby's fate.

Zoom In on Jennifer Aniston's Necklace, and You'll Definitely Get the Message

While some might count evil-eye jewelry as a trend, it probably means a lot to the wearer. And while there are plenty of stylish designs - Jennifer Aniston's necklace included - many cultures view the symbol as protection or a curse. Of course, we don't know exactly what message Jen is sending with hers. From a style perspective, the Jennifer Meyer piece just looks plain cool with a pair of boyfriend jeans, Gucci loafers, and a ribbed tank. But perhaps Jen didn't just choose her pendant because it brings out the blue shade of her denim.

With all the talk in the media about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce, many are looking to Jen, Brad's famous ex. If we didn't know any better, we'd guess Jen's jewels say, "I'm just living my life." Simple and smart, just like the rest of her outfit. Read on to see it from all angles, then shop for an evil eye of your own. Whether you put it on for armor or just because you like it, it's clearly an eye-catching touch.

These Tiny Swatch "Tattoos" Prove Chanel's New Lip Crayons Work on All Skin Tones

At a time when every brand seems to be launching supermatte lipsticks, Chanel did something unexpected: the French luxury brand released a line of glossy lipstick pencils.

Though the formula is highly pigmented like other popular lip crayons (Nars, Nudestix), it is unique in that is has more satiny texture than its predecessors. This is not your lipstick stamp, but rather a comfortable wash of color that can be blotted off into a stain or intensified with extra layers. It's so easy to wear that celebrities - such as Sienna Miller here - have already opted to rock it on the red carpet.

To get more info on why this product is so special, we consulted with Chanel makeup artist Cyndle Komarovski. "These crayons have the most beautiful moisturizing texture," she said. "Other moisturizing lip pencils I've used in the past, though hydrating, do not have full color coverage. This pencil has both!"

When it comes to applying the pencils, she advises to outline your lips with the tip and then fill it in. No extra products required!

But since they are a bit slippery - which is also what makes them so moisturizing - she offered a savvy hack for making them stay all day. "For extreme long wear, try this makeup artist trick," she said. "Start by gently exfoliating your lips with a warm washcloth to remove any dead skin. Apply lip color, then hold a tissue over your lips and use a fluffy powder brush to dust a coat of translucent powder over the tissue. This is setting the lipstick in place. Remove tissue and apply one more coat of lipstick."

The 11-shade range just launched at chanel.com, and to help you find your perfect color, Cyndle tested six of the hues on three POPSUGAR staffers of diverse skin tones. We chose hues ranging from neutrals to bold berries on pale, medium, and dark complexions.

Plus, since we love swatches, tiny tattoos, and Chanel so much; Cyndle drew mini swatch "tattoos" themed as Chanel motifs (like flowers, stars, and double "C"s)! If you're a Chanel fangirl, get ready for some serious Parisian-inspired chicness.

With 2 Raw Photos, Mom Gets Real About Feeling Disconnected After Giving Birth

When Lacey Barratt posed for photos with her newborn baby less than a day after delivering her baby, it was originally to document her postpartum body. However, the photographer and mom-of-five quickly noticed that these first photos captured something even more important: the struggle and emotional disconnect she was experiencing after giving birth.

The Australian mom decided to post the photos online with the caption, "Twenty hours in and we are making it…" along with an equally powerful explanation after realizing exactly what the confronting image showed.

I saw a woman who felt like after 4 biological births in 5 years and 5 children total, that this was her job. Like she was good for nothing else other than birthing babies. Like she is just going through the process. Pregnant, birth, postpartum, baby cries, boob baby, baby poops, change baby, raise baby.... just going through the motions. There was no attachment. It looks like someone just dumped a baby in my arms. I feel no warmth when I look at this. Then, I felt guilty. I felt vulnerable.

Looking at these photos brought tears to her eyes and Lacey debated whether she should go public with her experience. Despite feeling unconditional support and having a positive birth experience, she needed to know that she wasn't wrong for feeling the way she did. "I knew it was normal, but I wasn't ready to spill my weaknesses until I *knew* it was normal," she wrote. "Feeling disconnected after a birth whether it be positive, supported and empowering OR traumatic, disempowered, or poorly supported is NORMAL. Our emotions are EVERYWHERE."

Since posting the intimate images, Lacey has been inundated with stories reminding her that she is not alone and she's hoping to do the same for others. "For my [postpartum] mama's out there, don't be discouraged. You are not alone and you are doing fucking fabulous," she wrote.

Relive That Time Chris Pratt Hilariously Corrected a Fan About Getting a Picture With Him

Chris Pratt is one of Hollywood's biggest stars, but he's also a good sport when it comes to his fans. Back in April 2016, the webseries Game Grumps - who are avid fans of Chris - poked a little fun at the actor when they posted a photo of themselves with a watermelon with his name written on it in Sharpie. "Holy crap we got this TOTALLY REAL picture with Chris Pratt today!" they tweeted. "THIS IS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED!!!" Of course Chris, being the amazing person that he is, couldn't leave them hanging and crafted the perfect response, which is once again making the rounds online. "I can confirm. That is 100% me," he wrote. Whether he's posting funny childhood pictures on social media or giving a shout-out to his fans, Chris always knows how to make us laugh. Check out the funny throwback exchange below.

14 Grocery Staples I Always Have as a 20-Something on a Budget

As a 24-year-old who has just started out in the professional world, I know how hard it can be to get your life together. You're supposed to find a job, live on your own, cook for yourself, and find the time to exercise, which, unfortunately, I don't think includes walking to the kitchen for snack breaks in between TV episodes. When you have so much going on - especially when you're on a budget - one thing that some people dread is grocery shopping. I personally love it, but it took a little practice to figure out a routine and a grocery list that worked for me. As someone who loves to cook, there are certain things I like to have on hand all the time. These are 14 budget-approved staples I always have stocked in my kitchen.

This Proud Mom Isn't Taking For Granted Being Able to Breastfeed on Her Wedding Day

Anecia Wright's wedding was never just about the bride. Even when she was picking out her wedding gown, this mom had her newborn baby in mind and wouldn't say yes to the dress until she was able to make sure that her breast was easily accessible.

That dedication to breastfeeding her 4-month-old didn't waver on her wedding day, and despite her gown's intricate beading, Anecia lovingly nursed her little boy throughout the night. As a way to inspire other breastfeeding moms, Anecia shared her new husband's favorite snapshot of the glowing bride feeding her child. "I love nursing and nobody can ever make me feel embarrassed or ashamed about feeding our child in the most natural way," she captioned the photo on Facebook.

Hidden Fences, the Biggest Golden Globes Blunder in Years, Now Has a Movie Trailer

It was the recurring Golden Globes joke that never should have happened: Hidden Fences. Jenna Bush first combined the two nominated films, Hidden Figures and Fences, on the red carpet. Then, in an even more embarrassing display, Michael Keaton made the same mistake while presenting the award for best supporting actress in a motion picture. Understandably, people freaked out about the blunder because both films have primarily black casts, implying that white people literally cannot tell the difference between the movies that black actors star in. On Monday, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert premiered the trailer for this fictional movie, Hidden Fences, and it's about as ridiculous as you would expect. Enjoy.

Study Shows Preschoolers Follow Their Parents' Every Move, So Get Off the Couch!

Staying active has never been as important as it is right now. When we think of preschoolers, we think of an endless source of energy, but we're learning that a child's physical activity level is heavily dependent on their parents.

According to a new study done by researchers at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center, children will follow their parents' behavior, whether they're exercising or sitting down. The study, which was recently published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine, followed over 1,000 parent-child pairs with activity trackers for 12 hours a day for one week.

The Daily Mail reports that they found a strong correlation between parent and child sedentary behavior and mild physical activity. "They also found that up to 40 minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) by a parent correlated with their preschool-age child's level of MVPA. For every minute that a parent spent in sedentary behavior, the child's sedentary behavior increased by 0.10 minutes."

The study was completed in part of an ongoing effort to decrease childhood obesity in the United States. Many parents don't realize how much their activity levels influence their children's, and hopefully further developments in this study will change that.

"The good news is that increasing physical activity is not only good for parents' health, it also helps set these behaviors in their young children as well," said lead investigator Dr. Shari Barkin, director of Pediatric Obesity Research at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. "It's doubly good for family health. Setting this habit early could impact good health not only in childhood but in adulthood as well."

It's important to point out that national guidelines recommend preschoolers have about three hours of physical activity each day - light, moderate, and vigorous - but less than half of preschoolers get the suggested one hour of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity each day.

Women of All Skin Tones Need to Try NYX Cosmetics's Incredible New Foundation

By now, most makeup-lovers know that they can rely on NYX Cosmetics as a resource for testing the latest trends on a budget. The beauty-blogger favorite has just announced another big launch: the Total Control Drop Foundation ($14).

The formula is silky to the touch and dries matte on the skin.

The product is designed to be applied with the Total Control Drop Foundation Brush ($14), which features ultrasoft synthetic bristles with contoured edges for seamless blending.

17 Universal Red Lipsticks, No Matter Your Skin's Undertone

Wearing red lipstick can be terrifying (for me, it's exhilarating!). But before I got comfortable rocking ruby, I was intimidated by it. When you have a bold pout, it demands attention.

It can also be difficult to find your perfect shade of red. The makeup aisles and counters are packed with different iterations of red. Some are more pink, while others have more blue and purple undertones. And if you don't have the time, energy, or interest to work with a pro to find your ideal pick, then just go with a universally flattering red.

Dr. Victoria Fraser, the director of scientific communications in consumer beauty at COTY (formerly at Procter & Gamble) works with CoverGirl. The drugstore brand just launched a red shade that fits into this category. She explains the theory behind why these red work for everyone.

"A universal red is a share that hits the sweet spot between cool tones and warm tones in what we call the color space," she told me at a recent beauty event. "So the hue is in between the two. What this means is if your skin has cool undertones or warm undertones, you can still wear it, and it's going to look great. Because that's often the challenge women have when finding something that works with their skin tones."

I also wanted to know what the shade actually looks like. "If you were to look at it, there would be no obvious pink undertones or blue undertones," she explained. "And there is no obvious sort of yellow. It's not a post box sort of red." (The post box is a reference to mailboxes in London.)

When I looked into it, I discovered that many brands at a multitude of price points have created universal reds. Keep reading to discover a rouge you can pull off, no matter your complexion!

He Did It Again! See 1 Man Transform Into Mariah Carey With Makeup

Mariah Carey has earned the adoration of millions for her incredible singing voice, her passion for the holiday season, and (of course), the way she throws shade. Recently, one fan in particular paid homage to the legendary artist using his own talent: drag makeup.

Paolo Ballesteros, the host of Filipino TV show Eat Bulaga! is internationally recognized for his uncanny ability to transform into celebrities with cosmetics. On Jan. 9, he flawlessly mimicked Mariah Carey's style in a new post to his Instagram feed.

Take a close look: Ballesteros has chiseled his cheeks like hers, exaggerated his eye shape to achieve Mimi's large peepers, and is rocking the star's signature nude lip. However, this isn't the first time he's copied the elusive chanteuse. Read on to see one of his first transformation posts to Instagram (from three and a half years ago!) in Mariah's likeness.

Zoe Saldana's Husband Couldn't Keep His Eyes Off Her - and Neither Will You After Seeing Her Dress

The way Zoe Saldana's husband, artist Marco Perego, couldn't peel his eyes off his beautiful wife at the premiere of her new movie Live by Night is the way you want your SO to look at you every day. The Dominican and Puerto Rican actress, wearing a gorgeous sequined white dress from J. Mendel's Fall 2016 couture collection and stunning red lipstick (Votre Vu French Kiss Moisture Riche Lipstick in Claudia, $23), had her partner by her side as she celebrated her starring role in the Ben Affleck-directed film. Marco - did you notice his shirt sort of matches Zoe's dress? - stared at his beautiful wife as they made their way into the theater, giving us all the feels a day after showing their love on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet. Scroll ahead to check out more photos of the cute couple and their palpable love.

Meryl Streep Was the Only Star to Wear This Designer on Golden Globes Night

We can sum up Meryl Streep's red carpet style in one word: elegant. She's been attending award shows since the '70s, which means she's been honing her signature look for quite some time. You won't ever see the actress in a flamboyant dress or barely-there midi; instead, she keeps her outfits modest and timeless.

Just what types of dresses does Meryl gravitate toward? In particular, she has a preference for draping and sleeves, going with designer Lanvin time and time again. In addition, Meryl has long belted her gowns to show off her waistline - a trick no doubt she learned from the pros over the years.

But just because she sticks to modest choices doesn't mean she won't take a fashion risk here and there. She's done the plunging neckline look and worn off-the-shoulder pieces on several occasions. She hired Lupita Nyong'o's stylist Micaela Erlanger to step up her outfit game for the 2017 Golden Globe Awards, where she wore a custom-made Givenchy gown.

In fact, since Givenchy has a standing tradition of dressing only one star for an awards show, Meryl was the only one to wear the fashion house on the red carpet. In true Meryl fashion, she pulled the look off gracefully.

We Didn't Get That Heathers Reunion We Wanted, but Winona Ryder Still Looked Stunning at the Globes

Winona Ryder may have been so busy ducking her ex-boyfriend Matt Damon at the Golden Globes on Sunday that she forgot to reunite with her Heathers costar Christian Slater, too. The actress was on hand for the big show on Sunday night and though she didn't take home the best actress in a TV drama series for her role in Stranger Things, she did look absolutely stunning on the red carpet in a black Viktor & Rolf gown. For the record, it's her first time attending the Globes since 2000 (with Matt Damon!), and somehow she's managed to look the same.

She and Christian didn't come together during the event, but Winona still made time to gush about her former costar with E!'s Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet. "I have not seen him in a long time, but I adore him," she said. "I'm so happy for him. I could not be more happy for him. I love him so much . . . he's the best." She also revealed that she reached out to the Mr. Robot star after his Golden Globe win in 2016: "When he won, I just imagined he was getting flooded with emails, and so I was like, 'You don't have to write me back, but congratulations.'" She went on: "And then he wrote me back. And I was like, 'Oh . . . friends forever.'" While we are very, very sad that our dream Heathers reunion didn't come to fruition, we're still thrilled to see Winona at big Hollywood events again - including her recent meetup with Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands director Tim Burton.

Norman Reedus Pals Around With Kevin Bacon and His Daughter at the Knicks Game

Exactly four years ago, Norman Reedus tweeted about seeing one of his idols, Kevin Bacon, on a plane and being too embarrassed to say hi. Thankfully he got a second chance at the Knicks game on Monday night. With The Walking Dead on Winter hiatus, Norman took a break from fending off hordes of zombies to share a few laughs with Kevin and Kevin's 24-year-old daughter, Sosie, while they watched the home team take on the New Orleans Pelicans at Madison Square Garden. He also chatted with a mystery companion, who unfortunately wasn't BFF Andrew Lincoln. Now excuse us while we humbly petition Hollywood to make a buddy cop movie starring these two . . .

1 Badass Mom Just Delivered Her Own Baby Via C-Section

Sarah Toyer is no stranger to Cesarian births, as all four of her children were delivered via C-section. However, she didn't necessarily plan her births this way and after her first child's emergency C-section birth she felt very emotional over the experience.

"I felt like my body failed at giving birth and felt so robbed after going through so much just to end up having a C-section," Toyer told Babble. Desiring to be more involved in the birth of her fourth child, Spencer, she was determined to have a maternal assisted C-section, something that she was told would almost entirely depend on the surgeon on call the day she had her procedure.

"So, when the day came along we waited eight hours at the hospital, then I was standing there next to the surgeon scrubbing up just as she was," Toyer wrote in a post shared to the Birth Without Fear Facebook page. "Maybe half an hour later I was lying on the operating table watching my son's head being pulled from my womb. I reached down and put my hands under his arms and lifted the rest of him out of my own body. It was the most incredible thing I have ever done."

Sarah is sharing her Spencer's delivery story to encourage other moms to be passionate about their birth plans, and says, "I highly recommend you stick to your guns about what birth you want!"

Neil Patrick Harris Licks James Corden's Face During Their Intense Broadway Riff-Off

If you're obsessed with all things musical theater, then you better sit down for this one. On Monday night, Tony award-winner Neil Patrick Harris stopped by The Late Late Show to challenge host James Corden in a special edition of "Broadway Riff-Off." While the A Series of Unfortunate Events actor lit up the stage with his sparkling personality, we have to admit, James really blew us away with his rendition of "On My Own" from Les Misérables. Of course, the best part of the whole segment had to be when they busted out some rhymes from the Broadway hit Hamilton. Watch the whole thing above to see if you can decide on a winner.

There's Something Very Special About Queen Letizia of Spain's Navy Blue Coat

After the holidays and her first official appearance at the Pascua Militar earlier in January, Queen Letizia of Spain is back at work, attending a meeting at the Spanish Association Against Cancer. And what do you do when you're going back to "the office" after a few days away? You pull out your newest and most professional outfit, of course. Letizia did just that, wearing navy blue from head to toe in flared slacks, cobalt pumps and matching earrings. But the pièce de résistance was her navy blue coat, featuring a detail we don't often see on the royal's outerwear: a cinched waist.

The queen, who normally prefers bright shades for her outerwear and a more boxy and loose silhouette, showed off her figure in the classic jacket you should add to your own collection. Scroll ahead to see more photos of her look and find a few links to shop her style.

Look Closely and You'll See Amal Clooney Expertly Mixed 2 Prints in 1 Outfit

Even when dressed down, Amal Clooney still manages to look polished. For a Netflix documentary screening in London, Amal traded her power suit for a classic floral shift dress. Though the colorful print initially drew our attention to the Dolce & Gabbana dress, her tights are pretty special, too. When you zoom in, you can see intricate leaf-like designs. The subtle print didn't detract from the bolder florals of her dress, which is why we almost missed it.

Leave it to Amal to once again prove she's a true fashion innovator. She managed expertly to mix two different prints in one outfit for a night out. Scroll on to see the full details of her outfit, then take a cue from the star and shop similar picks for your own pattern-mixing look.

Robert De Niro Thanks Meryl Streep For Her Speech Slamming Trump: "It Needed to Be Said, You Said It Beautifully"

The Golden Globe Awards were full of amazing (and awkward) moments, but the biggest by far was Meryl Streep's passionate acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award. In it, she touched on the importance of diversity in Hollywood and America and called out President-elect Donald Trump for his obnoxious, disrespectful behavior. It didn't take long for the bitter reality star to come out swinging against the legendary actress via Twitter, but luckily she has more than a few people in her corner. In addition to messages of support from George Clooney, Ron Howard, and Stephen Colbert, her Marvin's Room costar Robert De Niro wrote a heartfelt letter thanking her for her speech.

"Meryl –

What you said was great. It needed to be said, and you said it beautifully. I have so much respect for you that you did it while the world was celebrating your achievements. I share your sentiments about punks and bullies. Enough is enough. You, with your elegance and intelligence, have a powerful voice – one that inspires others to speak up as they should so their voices will be heard too. It is so important that we ALL speak up.

We love you.

Bob"

We can add him to the long, long list of celebrities who aren't afraid to speak their minds when it comes to the future of our country.

Ben Affleck Says "the John Mayer Thing" When Asked to Name a Taylor Swift Song

Ben Affleck stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday to talk about his family, his new movie, Live by Night, and, well, Taylor Swift. After the dad of Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel admitted that he listens to a lot of Radio Disney, he was forced to put his knowledge to the test during a heated game of "5 Second Rule." After the actor was asked to name three Taylor songs in under five seconds, he made a hilarious (and very dad-like) mistake. "'1989,' I Still Love You, the John Mayer thing," he said while obviously flustered, getting only one right. "Come on. I can't. She's amazing. I love Taylor Swift; I'm blanking, though." In addition to his Swift mistake (get it?), he also revealed that you can find his longtime friend Matt Damon in his bed at any given moment. Watch all of Ben's cute answers above.

These Makeup-Free Celebrity Selfies Will Inspire You to Bare It All

You know what they say: celebrities are just like us. And though that might not apply to their lavish houses and larger-than-life red carpet wardrobes, we can relate to the pressure they feel to wear makeup even when they step out just for a few to pick up juice at the grocery store.

And before you jump in saying they have the best skincare at their fingertips, consider this: when some of us have a hard time leaving the comfort of the couch without mascara or at least a little tinted moisturizer, these celebs, whose looks are scrutinized by the world daily, broke the mold to join the fresh-faced movement by sharing their own makeup-free photos on social media. See their gorgeous snaps and get inspired to let loose, too.

Matt Damon Steps Out With His Lovely Wife For a Red Carpet Date in LA

After hitting up the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, Matt Damon attended the LA premiere of Live by Night with his wife, Luciana Barroso, on Monday. The two were all smiles as they supported the actor's longtime friend Ben Affleck, who wrote and directed the film. While Matt looked sharp in a black suit, his wife gave her dark ensemble a little flair with a leather jacket. The pair even mingled with another one of our favorite Hollywood couples, Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet, before heading inside the TCL Chinese Theatre. Of course, nothing compares to Matt's appearance with Ben. The longtime pals just couldn't contain their giggles as they shared a few inside jokes on the red carpet.

8 Things You Never Knew About Trader Joe's, Straight From a Former Employee

I spoke to a former employee who worked at Trader Joe's for a year, and he gave me the inside scoop on how the company is run, the little-known details of the return policy, and what the point of those somewhat-annoying bells is. Spoiler alert: there's no real dirt (I tried!), but what I got was interesting, behind-the-scenes intel that made me an even bigger fan of the store.

There's a reason the customer service is so good.

Trader Joe's strategy in providing a quality customer-service experience is simple: overstaff. "They totally overstaff so that you don't feel like your stocking duties or your register duties trump interacting with customers - they encourage you to be nice to customers." That's why you can almost always find someone in a Hawaiian t-shirt or crew-member uniform walking around and waiting to help you find anything.

The employees try all the new products so they know what to tell customers.

"Each Trader Joe's has a break room, and they have one person who's in charge of cooking new stuff that the store gets and making it available for the entire staff who comes through the store that day to try it. They want you to try all the products so you can have an opinion so that when you recommend stuff to people, it's not baseless."

The pay is REALLY good.

This guy started out at Trader Joe's making $12/hour, which was above the state's minimum wage. You not only start out making a good amount, but it gets even better quickly. After three months of working more than 30 hours a week, you get health insurance and a 401K. You'll also likely get a raise once or twice a year. A friend of this employee worked at Trader Joe's for over five years and made $21/hour - that's an annual salary of $42K.

They donate all unsold food.

"Trader Joe's donates a ton of food. It's called 'spoils,' which just means it's not in perfect shape. There's nothing wrong with eating a lime with a couple brown spots, but if you wouldn't buy it and be excited about buying it, then it gets put with spoils and typically gets donated. They donate flowers, produce - everything - to local organizations."

There's a method behind the bell ringing.

You've sometimes noticed employees ringing bells while you're checking out, right? There's a method to the madness, and it's sort of like the store's secret language for various customer-service needs. "One bell means everyone to your register, which means the lines are getting too long and they need everyone at a register. Two bells means you need an employee to come over and help with something. For example, let's say the bag of spinach you bought is partially opened or looks bad; you ring two bells and an employee will come over and grab a new one for you. Three bells means a manager needs to come over."

Every store has an in-house artist.

"Literally all of the signage around the store is custom-made by two or three artists who hang out in the back and almost exclusively do that, and register work every once in a while." That's why every store has location-based art throughout the store - pretty cool, right?

You can return ANYTHING.

Seriously, you could open a bag of popcorn, try it, and bring it back if you didn't like it - for a full refund. "You see that a lot. You get people who come back and say, 'Hey, I tried it, but I didn't really like it.'" Excuse me while I go try every single thing in the snack aisle.

They strive to create an experience that's beyond grocery shopping.

"They really push this whole, 'we don't want you to feel like you're just grocery shopping' thing. They want it to be an experience - something that pulls you out of the monotony of your everyday life."

Ben Affleck Calls Jennifer Garner the "World's Greatest Mom" to Their 3 Children

Ben Affleck sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday morning to discuss everything from brother Casey Affleck's Golden Globe win to his adorable family. The Live by Night actor described how excited his 4-year-old son, Samuel, was about seeing his uncle take home a trophy and also reflected on the incredible moment 20 years ago when he himself was the award season darling for his work on Good Will Hunting with BFF Matt Damon. The proud brother also revealed that he took his kids, as well as Casey and Matt's kids, for a fun skiing trip over the holidays. The only problem? His kids - Seraphina, Violet, and Samuel - are a little bit of a handful. "[They] have the world's greatest mom," he said of estranged wife Jennifer Garner. "But even she cannot conquer the obstacles there."

What It's Really Like to Put a Child to Bed (in 15 Easy Steps)

Our bedtime routine is exhausting. What started out as a 20-minute process has turned into a full hour-and-a-half affair, usually culminating in everyone (adults included) eventually falling asleep in one of my kids' beds. I'm not quite sure how we got here, but getting out is proving harder than I thought. The funny thing is, we (the adults) know it is a game, and we are consistently falling into our kids' traps. I can only imagine what they are thinking as we go through the motions every night.

Here, a look at our bedtime routine - through both my and my kids' eyes. Sweet dreams!

This Moving Harry Potter Theory Will Make You Love Neville Longbottom Even More

Neville Longbottom could have been The Chosen One, but he wasn't. Instead, Harry took on the weight of the wizarding world, and his acts of bravery proved countless times that he was a true Gryffindor at heart. While Harry's bravery was brash, bold, and apparent to everyone around him, Neville's went more or less unnoticed throughout their years at Hogwarts. But his quiet courage was something else entirely. I've seen this fan theory throughout the years, and I can't help but agree that while Harry, Ron, and Hermione were undeniably brave, Neville Longbottom's particular type of bravery was perhaps the most remarkable of all. Here's the theory.

http://ift.tt/1SCIkmg

Basically, Neville stood before his greatest fear and faced it daily. What's more, he stood up not to his enemies, but to his friends in The Sorcerer's Stone - because he believed it was right. "And then led a resistance against a Snape-led Hogwarts in year seven. He led a group of children (and friends) in a mini-war against his biggest fear," added Redditor TheKyleBaxter.

Then, in what is arguably one of the bravest deeds in the entire Harry Potter series, Neville stood up to Voldemort himself. "This is the moment when Voldemort appears to have won. Harry appears to be dead. There's almost no hope left to win the war for them. And still, Neville continues to defy Voldemort, despite Voldemort's offer to let him join the Death Eaters," SchroedingersKneazle pointed out in a Reddit thread on the subject. It may not be the same kind of bravery Harry had when he knowingly walked into the Forbidden Forest to face Voldemort and to his inevitable death. And it's not the same as the bravery it took Harry to come back to the warring wizarding world and finish it all when he could have gone on to be with those he'd loved and lost.

But Neville's is a different kind of courage that perseveres. Harry's bravery resulted from facing a responsibility that was thrust upon him at birth; Neville's bravery was something he chose to have daily, even if wasn't something that came as naturally to him. Some fans have even said Neville's experience facing Snape is a metaphor for dealing with anxiety and fear of failure, and even more understandably, dealing with fears of facing bullies at school - which many Muggle children deal with everyday as well.

Either way, there's no doubt that the Sorting Hat made the right decision when he sorted Neville Longbottom. The hat placed him in Gryffindor, where dwell the brave at heart, their daring, nerve, and chivalry truly setting them apart.

This Stunning Rainbow Baby Maternity Shoot Was Made More Special by an Actual Rainbow

When photographer Abbie Fox saw a triple rainbow during a maternity shoot with 34-year-old Edit Hansen, she knew she had to capture it. But what Edit told Abbie about her current and past pregnancies would turn out to make this rainbow all the more special. Edit is currently pregnant for the fourth time with her second rainbow baby.

After suffering a miscarriage with her first child, Edit gave birth to her first rainbow baby, her now-2-year-old son, Leonardo. Eight months after his birth, she became pregnant again, but sadly lost the baby a week later. Now pregnant with her fourth child and second rainbow baby, a little girl to be named Chiara Julianna, she decided to capture the experience of this pregnancy with a maternity shoot.

The shoot with Abbie was set up outside in the mountains and Edit wore a number of stunning gowns that looked brilliant against the landscape. "I really loved the idea of taking pictures against the backdrop of a beautiful and majestic landscape, since I felt at once so small against the mountains and the whole of this universe, while partaking in an incredibly universal experience," Edit told Babble.

Abbie said that being able to do this type of shoot meant the world to her. "Edit mentioned that her babies were both rainbow babies while we were doing the sessions, so I knew it would be the perfect shoot for her, but I had no idea how much rainbows meant to her really until after the session," Abbie told POPSUGAR Moms. "It is my job to make my images mean something to my clients and I'm blessed every day that families hire me to do so, especially when there is a deeper meaning like this one."

Look through to see more of the beautiful photos Abbie took of Edit during their rainbow baby maternity shoot.

These Dove Vintage Ads From the 1950s Will Make You Want to Call Your Mom

As skin and body care continues to innovate with crazy formulas (like snake venom!) or unique textures (such as gels), one thing remains the same: people will always love their simple Dove soap bars. Now that the iconic drugstore product is turning 60 (it launched in 1957!), the brand is celebrating its heritage by releasing vintage ads. And POPSUGAR has a first look!

Ahead you'll see how much advertising has changed since the 1950s, when most ads ran in print. Now campaigns can appear anywhere from social to digital media to TV and of course on printed paper, as well.

"Dove has been providing the same superior care and championing real beauty for generations of women since the Beauty Bar launched 60 years ago," Kathy O'Brien, the vice president of skin and marketing services, told POPSUGAR. "It is incredible to see this demonstrated through our Dove Beauty Bar ads featuring real women, which date back to 1957 when the Beauty Bar debuted as a revolution in personal care."

But since you can't go back in time, Dove is giving you something new to covet. The brand is releasing a collector's edition soap bar engraved with the word "care." Snag it this month for $7 at a drugstore near you.

Enjoy the nostalgic ads here and then call your mom. She'll tell you all about women in the '50s!

Remembering These Heart Attack Symptoms Could Mean the Difference Between Life and Death

Spotting heart attack symptoms early can potentially save a life. How do you spot them? Our friends at YourTango share their story.

Pay attention.

The recent deaths of Carrie Fisher (due to a heart attack) and George Michael (due to heart failure) bring this year to a close with even more significant grief and loss.

Now, more than ever, it's important to remember that heart disease is the number one cause of death not just for African-American and white women in the United States, but for people of most ethnicities when statistics by genders are combined.

While we tend to think of heart disease as an issue affecting only older adults, some forms - such as Cardiovascular disease (CVD) - may begin during childhood.

Evidence of fatty deposits in heart valves - a sign of CVD that can develop into multiple serious problems later in life - has been found in children as young as in infancy. When we are still young the build of these deposits typically develops without any obvious symptoms, so identifying and managing the known risk factors from the very start of life is crucial. In addition to possible hereditary factors, hormonal changes, fatty foods, alcohol, smoking, and variables such as anemia, a sedentary lifestyle, and traditional American dietary habits today subject our hearts to stress at an increasingly unprecedented level.

The wide variety of heart and cardiovascular diseases causes a good deal of confusion.

For example, while many of us think the terms 'cardiac arrest' and 'heart attack' are one and the same, they are actually quite different from one another.

According to The American Heart Association:

"A heart attack occurs when a blocked artery prevents oxygen-rich blood from reaching a section of the heart. If the blocked artery is not reopened quickly, the part of the heart normally nourished by that artery begins to die. The longer a person goes without treatment, the greater the damage. Symptoms of a heart attack may be immediate and intense. More often, though, symptoms start slowly and persist for hours, days or weeks before a heart attack. Unlike with sudden cardiac arrest, the heart usually does not stop beating during a heart attack...

Sudden cardiac arrest occurs suddenly and often without warning. It is triggered by an electrical malfunction in the heart that causes an irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). With its pumping action disrupted, the heart cannot pump blood to the brain, lungs and other organs. Seconds later, a person loses consciousness and has no pulse. Death occurs within minutes if the victim does not receive treatment."

People commonly think of heart attack symptoms as pain radiating down the left arm and tightening of the chest. However, the symptoms and causes of heart attack in women are can be quite different than those experienced by men. Because of this, women sometimes ignore their flu-like heart attack symptoms when they first arise.

When symptoms are caught early, heart attacks CAN be stopped before they happen, as the signs typically develop over time before the heart attack occurs.

Heart attack symptoms in men may include:

  • Chest pain
  • Chest discomfort
  • Chest pressure
  • Discomfort or pain in other areas, such as one or both arms, the neck, jaw, back, or stomach
  • Shortness of breath, lightheadedness, nausea, or sweating
  • Abdominal discomfort that may feel like heartburn

Heart attack symptoms in women may include:

  • Uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain in the center of your chest. It lasts more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back.
  • Pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
  • Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.
  • Other signs such as breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.
  • As with men, women's most common heart attack symptom is chest pain or discomfort.

The great new is that there are ways to prevent heart disease, reverse prior heart damage, and encourage healthy cardiovascular heath overall.

Here is a list of six actions you can take now to improve your heart health:

1. If you're a smoker, stop smoking.

2. Eat more fiber, veggies, and fruit.

3. Avoid processed and fried foods.

4. Exercise daily.

5. Lose weight if your waistline is greater than 35 inches.

6. Visit your doctor at least once a year and have your triglycerides and cholesterol checked.

If you have a family history of diabetes and heart disease, be aware that you become increasing more vulnerable once you reach the age of 40. Make sure your physician is aware of this and any other known risk factors.

The bottom line is that we need to take our heart health seriously and prevent heart attacks before they start.

Tune into your body signals when they happen, because every moment counts.
