This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Chicken Breasts
It's no secret that boneless, skinless chicken breasts aren't the most exciting ingredient, but they're certainly one of the most popular among home cooks. If you're feeling totally uninspired by your usual chicken recipes, allow these chef-approved tips to get you out of your rut. Here's how some of the best Food Network personalities and more of our favorite celebrity cooks transform their chicken breasts.
Alton Brown: Pounded Thin
Alton Brown's recipe is for chicken kiev, a popular dish that involves pounding the chicken breasts thin before stuffing them with herbed butter, coating them in breadcrumbs, and frying them. Alton's pro tip is to refrigerate the rolled-up, stuffed chicken breasts for at least an hour so they stay intact while being fried, so you don't have to worry about pesky butcher's twine.
Ina Garten: Lemon on Lemon
Ina's lemon chicken breasts recipe has a five-star rating out of more than 600 reviews, and it's easy to see why. She makes sure there's maximum lemon flavor by baking the chicken breasts with plenty of zest, juice, and wedges.
Chrissy Teigen: With a Brick
Yes, an actual brick. Once you try the technique in Chrissy Teigen's brick chicken recipe, you might never go back.
Rachael Ray: Spinach and Mushroom Stuffed
Rachael Ray's spinach- and mushroom-stuffed chicken is further proof that stuffing your food is always a good idea. A filling made of spinach, mushrooms, ricotta, parmesan, and garlic results in chicken that's anything but bland.
Giada De Laurentiis: Piccata
Giada's foolproof chicken piccata is the ultimate Italian-style chicken dinner. With a short list of impactful ingredients (butter, lemon juice, chicken stock, and capers), you can make your own restaurant-worthy chicken.
Ted Allen: Parmesan-Crusted
When in doubt, add parmesan cheese. Chopped host Ted Allen recommends baking the chicken in a crunchy crust of panko breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese.

If You Prefer Emily Ratajkowski's Bikinis, You Obviously Haven't Seen Her Baywatch Suit
Don't get us wrong, Emily Ratajkowski looks good in a two-piece. In fact, the supermodel's come up with so many ideas for mixing and matching her bikinis, we can barely keep up. But while vacationing with her friends Bella Hadid, Elsa Hosk, Hannah Ferguson, Lais Ribeiro, Hailey Baldwin, and Rose Bertram in the Bahamas, Emily pulled a style switch-up.
Her red Solid & Striped design was fitted and sleek, with not a cutout in sight, and the plunging neckline was a touch sexy - very simple, very effortless, very Baywatch. Emily completed her look with a dainty chain necklace, allowing us full focus on her one-piece. While clearly, most of her pals prefer classic tops and bottoms, Emily is making a case for coverage at the beach. Read on for a look, then shop similar silhouettes for yourself.
11 DIY Beauty Remedies Your Grandma Always Talked About That Actually Work
Every abuela has one: that wild concoction she whips up from ingredients in her kitchen and swears by every time you have a pimple, dry skin, unruly hair - you name it. As kids, most of us rolled our eyes and went along with it, but we've done a little digging, and it turns out maybe Grandma wasn't so crazy after all. Many of those beauty recipes actually work! Warning: do try these 11 practices at home for smooth skin and silky hair - or get these beauty buys that are also grandma-approved.
1. Using mayonnaise as a deep conditioner for healthy hair.
According to hairstylist Nathaniel Hawkins, this old-school method works because of the fat to protein ratio. "The oil softens the hair, making it shinier - and the protein in the eggs will make strands stronger." He recommends applying the treatment to dry hair, and leaving it on as a mask for 15-20 minutes. Shampoo twice, and condition afterwards. But, Hawkins notes, this treatment works best for hair that isn't fine or limp.
2. Dabbing nails in olive oil for a healthier look.
Nail expert Stephanie Stone debunked the myth (common in Dominican culture) that rubbing garlic on nails will make them strong (according to studies, it has no benefit). But, she says, applying olive oil (a popular DIY beauty ingredient in Puerto Rico) on nails and cuticles throughout the day is a great way to improve their health. "Keeping your hands and nails moisturized is key, especially if you're trying to repair damaged nail beds. I'd also recommend applying it lightly throughout the day instead of a full on soak. But consistency is key!"
3. Coconut oil as a body moisturizer.
"This one 100% works," says dermatologist (and Sofia Vergara's derm!) Dendy Engelman, M.D., of coconut oil for soft skin, a popular technique in many Latin American countries. "Coconut oil is mostly made up of saturated fats and medium-chain fatty acids, which help repair the skin barrier, trap water to hydrate skin, and also reduce inflammation. And recent studies show it's also a great treatment for eczema."
4. Adding honey to hair conditioner for softer tresses.
A custom common in Caribbean Latin America, honey is a natural moisturizer, which Hawkins says does work to help rehydrate your locks. And using unprocessed honey will give you an extra bonus: it's full of enzymes that will help create a healthy scalp and prevent dandruff.
5. Agua maravilla to fight blemishes.
Also known as witch hazel, this is common in many Latino families, especially from Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds. Engelman says it works because the mixture contains anti-inflammatory, astringent, and antibacterial properties. Engelman also recommends Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Refreshingly Clean Towelettes ($6) to control blemishes and calm bug bites.
6. Washing hair with Coca-Cola for shine.
This is a long-time favorite technique among not just Latino families, but celebrities like Suki Waterhouse. Hairstylist Nunzio Saviano gives this traditional trick the thumbs up: "The acidity closes the hair cuticle, which makes it look healthy and shiny. But be careful: the sugar can leave your hair sticky, so you might need to rinse it out quickly. Apple cider vinegar is an alternative that might not be as messy!"
7. Beach sand as a skin exfoliant.
"Sand is essentially finely granulated rocks, so it's perfect to remove excess dry skin cells," Engelman says. "But because it's so abrasive, I'd only recommend you use it to exfoliate feet. It might be too harsh for other parts of your body."
8. Manzanilla grisi shampoo to lighten hair.
Saviano says that this traditionally Mexican and South American product - which contains Flor de Manzanilla and claims to both wash and lighten hair - does work, but he would use it sparingly. "This will maintain your tone and even lighten it at times, but if you use it too much, your color might become dull or even fade."
9. Grape skin paste for glowing skin.
Grapes are a gold mine, says Engelman. "They'll have a brightening effect over time because they contain vitamins B6, C, and A, and minerals like potassium, magnesium, selenium, and flavonoids, which act as antioxidants and remove toxins from the skin."
10. Sugar and lemon juice as an antiaging exfoliant.
According to Engelman, the sugar crystals act as an exfoliator, sloughing away dead skin, while the lemon juice helps peel away dead skin cells because of their content of alpha hydroxy acid (which is found in many antiaging treatments). Exfoliating is important, Engelman says, "because as we age, our skin doesn't shed as effectively. Plus, getting rid of dead cells helps your moisturizers penetrate better."
11. Avocado for healthy cuticles.
"Actually, rubbing avocado oil on cuticles is more effective than actual avocado," says Stone. But good news for avocado lovers: "Avocados in a healthy, balanced diet will help you see overall improvement in your hair, skin, and nails, too." Bring on the guacamole!
This Is What Date Night Looked Like at the Oscars in 1997
As we prepare to celebrate films like La La Land and Hidden Figures at the Oscars in late February, it's important to remember the historic award show's roots (and let me tell you - those roots are covered in a hell of a lot of satin). Two decades earlier at the 1997 Academy Awards, the red carpet was crawling with celebrity couples. From enduring Hollywood duos like Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn to some short-lived flings (Vivica A. Fox and Dennis Rodman, anyone?), the Oscars that year were a hotbed of PDA, hand-holding, and some very . . . um . . . interesting fashion choices. Bask in the glory of all of these late-'90s couples ahead!
There's 1 Clear Difference in Jennifer Lopez's Style This Year
Jennifer Lopez isn't wasting any time - she's hitting every red carpet and stepping out to run errands in outfits worthy of your attention.
We're only a few days into the year, and she's already giving us plenty to think about. For example, has her style gotten more demure? No, seriously, is this the year J Lo chooses high necklines and classic items like pussy-bow blouses instead of lots of cleavage? Only time will tell, but it looks like so far the singer, actress, and producer is switching things up and keeping us on our toes. Scroll ahead to see her best outfits this year so far.

5 Reasons Working Out at Night Will Change Your Life
I don't like to work out in the morning. I'm not a morning person. The aroma of coffee isn't something that wakes me with a smile. The light shining through the blinds at the crack of dawn is something I avoid as much as possible. The heaviest thing I want to be lifting in the morning before work is my pillow. As I said, I'm not a morning person. But wait, we're supposed to work out in the morning, right? Actually, no. You don't have to. In fact, there are a bunch of reasons you should train at night. I do and it changed my life from the first time I tried it.
First things first: Let's put the elephant in the room to bed. You won't be kept awake by training in the evening. That's an old lie that morning people cooked up with their elaborate breakfasts while we were hitting the snooze button and getting a well-deserved rest. In fact, a National Sleep Foundation study found that there was no difference in the quality of sleep for those who exercised vigorously in the evening.
1. You'll sleep better!
Numerous studies like this one have shown that people who lift weights in the evening have better sleep quality and duration than those who lift in the morning or afternoon hours. So, it will actually help you sleep better at night. Not only is a good rest imperative for muscle growth and recovery, but sleeping deeper and longer will enable you to feel better and fully rested by morning. You should definitely be more perky and ready to face the day ahead.
2. You'll have better workouts!
In addition to helping you sleep better, several studies found that training in the evening was the path to significant greater muscular gains and improved endurance. What does that mean for you? You can get more out of your workout if you train at night!
3. You'll have lower blood pressure!
A Journal of Strength Conditioning Research study found that people who trained at night lowered their blood pressure by 15 percent more than those who worked out in the morning.
4. You'll have better results, sooner!
A study from The New England University of Birmingham found that those who work out in the evening can go 20 percent longer and at a higher intensity. That means even more burned calories at night and the residual benefits of better workouts: tighter arms, stronger legs, leaner abs, and an overall healthier life!
5. Your body will be primed to work out!
Not just because you will be getting more recovery sleep and burning more calories either. According to research, our cortisol levels are higher in the mornings, which can inhibit muscle growth. But, testosterone levels are higher in the evening, which will boost muscle growth. So this is a great way to get those results even quicker.
With all these amazing benefits of working out at night, are you ready to give it a try? Go ahead, mix up your routine and see how much better you sleep, feel, and advance in your fitness goals. It just might change your life!

9 Things You Never Knew About Whole Foods, Straight From an Insider Employee
I spoke to Whole Foods food editor Molly Siegler, who's based at the company's headquarters in Austin, TX, and learned a variety of interesting facts that made me an even bigger fan of the store. What's the return policy? Who makes all the food in the hot bar? Can you really try something before you buy it? If you've always wanted to know this - plus more - about one of the highest-quality grocery stores, read on for all the insider secrets.
1. You can taste anything before you buy it.
Seriously - anything! "The company has a Try Before You Buy policy," Molly said, and you can use it for packaged foods (like snacks), fresh produce, and even cheese. "If there's a new apple that comes out, you can ask someone in the produce section to cut you a slice."
2. You can return anything.
The return policy "is very Nordstrom-like - bring it back; we want you to be happy." Depending on your location's policy, you'll either get your money back or get store credit - you don't even need your receipt. "It's nice if you have it, but not really [necessary]." You can even return Whole Foods beauty and body-care products, but make sure you have the receipt for those.
3. The best day to shop for sales is Wednesday.
"Wednesday is the day that our sale cycle turns over, so it actually ends up being a day where there are twice as many sales, so that's sort of a fun, magic day to come in. In addition to those in-store sales, we have mobile coupons that are part of our app. These coupons are updated regularly, and you just have the cashier scan the barcode that's exclusive to you."
4. Everything in the hot bar, salad bar, and bakery area is homemade.
"There's a new team that's been formed around culinary and hospitality: the company brought in a top chef, Tien Ho, who's been working in the restaurant world for years. He is leading the charge for elevating our prepared foods - he's going to focus a lot more on that hot bar experience and salad bar experience. To say it's made fresh and by trained chefs is definitely accurate."
5. The butchers can debone, season, and/or steam any cut of fish for you.
At no extra charge. "A lot of people do that in our offices for lunch, or it's a really easy thing to do right before you head home for dinner. And it's not just salt and pepper - there's interesting rubs and spice mixes."
6. Employees get a really good discount.
Is your local Whole Foods hiring? Every employee gets a 20 percent discount to start out with, and there's a health-focused incentive that leads to a higher discount. The company does an optional annual screening that records factors like BMI and blood pressure that employees can use as a regular health check-in, in addition to getting an increased discount.
7. The best-selling seafood item is the responsibly farmed salmon.
Look for this in the seafood section - it's the number-one selling seafood item companywide. The salmon is free of antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides, and GMOs.
8. Each Whole Foods location donates leftover food to local organizations.
Ever wonder what happens to all that leftover hot food at the end of the night? The exact policy varies by location, but all food is donated. "All of our stores have partnerships with local food banks and other local organizations that they can help donate the food to at the end of the day."
9. The company really does take ingredients seriously.
"Whole Foods Market has really high quality standards, but it's not an arbitrary thing. We have a whole team that's dedicated to using science and really heavy research to figure out what can and can't be in our stores. At a minimum, we have no artificial colors, no artificial preservatives, no artificial sweeteners, and no hydrogenated fats. Every single thing in our stores meets those standards, and often poeple don't realize that."
9 Moments From the 2016 Oscars That People Are Still Talking About
That's a wrap on the Oscars - the 2016 ones, anyway. While we're waiting for this year's show to delight and entertain us, we're remembering how last year's show was filled with great burns, surprising wins, and fantastic speeches. So many questions were swirling leading up to the big day: Would Leo finally win? Could Lady Gaga top her performance from 2015? Would Chris Rock address #OscarsSoWhite? Just kidding - there's no way he wouldn't. Before you watch this year's show, take a walk down memory lane with all the best moments from last year!
The Best Dresses Emma Stone's Ever Worn During Award Season
Emma Stone has not so quietly solidified her superstar status in the fashion world along with her A-list reputation in Hollywood. To that point, every time the actress is honored at an award show is another opportunity to see her glamorous style in full effect. The proof of that is inside, as we look back at Emma's jaw-dropping appearances at the Critics' Choice Awards, Golden Globes, SAGs, and Oscars of years past, when she was honored for her roles in The Help and Birdman, respectively.
Now, as we gear up for the Oscars on Sunday, we're anticipating another stunning look from the La La Land star. We're predicting the gown will generate almost as much buzz as the movie. Read on to get a glimpse of Emma's award-worthy red carpet history.
3-Year-Olds Are Kinda the Worst and Here's Why
You always hear about the "terrible twos" phase when it comes to your little ones. But no one has ever told you about when your child turns the doomed age of three. YourTango tells us exactly why three-year-olds are the new two-year-olds, and worse.
This is a worldwide epidemic.
I have two children. Before I had kids, everyone warned me about the terrible twos.
"Watch out, when your kid turns two they become wild and uncontrollable. All they say is 'no' to everything and good luck, because that year is going to suck big time."
Well, I'm here to tell you that "everyone" was wrong. Two-year olds are challenging but they're nowhere near as hard to deal with as three-year olds. After dealing with two three-year-olds in my house, they're undeniably the hardest humans on the face of the planet to negotiate with. The reason? They don't give a f*ck!
My daughter is three. No matter what I tell her to do, she doesn't f*cking care. For example, I could tell her to put her pants on. She will insist that she's absolutely not, under any circumstances, wearing those pants because they're blue.
"I want pink pants!" she will shout.
I explain to her that there are no clean pink pants. I open the drawers and show her that they don't contain pink pants. She doesn't f*cking care. She still wants the pink pants that don't exist.
This morning, she got out of bed, took a cup from the kitchen - one of those expensive, Preserve recycled cups - and threw it in the toilet. I gritted my teeth and explained to her that she wasn't to do that again. She just smiled. So I sheepishly put her in time out.
And it's not just her. My other child, Ari, acted the same way at three. He was oppositional, didn't care what I told him to do and wanted to do the opposite. In fact, I blocked out a lot of his defiant behavior because I think I was traumatized over the fact that I had absolutely no control over him.
I thought that maybe my kids were just challenging me. Maybe I'm a sh*tty parent. But no, it's not just me; this is a worldwide epidemic. All three-year olds do this to their parents. Something happens to children when they turn three. They become assh*les.
There's no other way to put it. They do whatever they want to do and they don't care if you tell them not to do it.
In fact, if you tell them to stop throwing M&Ms at the cat, they will throw more M&Ms at the cat with increasing velocity and greater intention to hit the cat in the face.
Thankfully, they don't stay assh*les for a long time. Their assh*le behavior only lasts for one year. When they turn four, they become slightly easier to negotiate with and gradually begin to respond to bribery. So there's hope.
If you're dealing with a three-year-old assh*le now, just take a deep breath and realize that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. This too shall pass ... in 12 months.

My 6-Month CrossFit Transformation Isn't What I Thought It'd Be
I wasn't going to write this post. I didn't want to share these photos. I felt too embarrassed. But it was for that reason that I felt compelled to. You see, when I started my CrossFit journey to getting completely ripped, I was convinced that after six months, I'd have amazing transformation photos to share. But as you can see, I don't.
I could have chosen to not share them, to wait a year, or however long it took to get the six-pack abs I'm working so hard toward, but I feel like these transformation photos are even more important to share than ones that are jaw-droppingly impressive. Because they show that losing weight and getting toned takes time, and probably more time than you want it to.
Losing weight and getting toned takes time, and probably more time than you want it to.When progress doesn't go as quickly as expected, it can be so damn frustrating. I actually quit CrossFit for a few days after three months. I was pissed that I was getting up at 4:50 a.m. five days a week to go to class, eating clean, and my body wasn't getting close to where I wanted it to be. I still had my baby belly, and I actually gained weight and my muscles grew. I was thicker all around, and even my sports bras were feeling tighter. WTH!
But my husband talked me down off my "I hate CrossFit" ledge and said, "First of all, you look amazing. And I can totally tell you're getting stronger. But CrossFit isn't just about what it's doing to your body, it's how you feel." And that's true. I loved how badass I felt snatching bars over my head and slamming medicine balls to the floor, and how my heart thumped in my chest and sweat dripped off my nose while doing a bazillion burpees. I loved how energetic and confident I felt when I came home from class, and how that set the tone for my entire day. I'm happier when I work out regularly, and that spreads out into my life, my work, and my relationships.
I also talked to a ton of women about how I was feeling. I told them, "I've gained weight, everything has gotten bigger, including my butt, and my jeans are tighter." They felt the same way, that they didn't love their huge muscles at first, but now they do because it means they're strong. Some of the women even said they wished their muscles were bigger, and now they just care about what their bodies can do, and what their goals are like to squat more weight, or do higher box jumps.
Doing CrossFit for six months has taught me one unexpected lesson that I feel like I've been trying to learn my entire life. To love my body. To genuinely feel proud of what it can do, and to not poke and prod at it for what society tells me it's supposed to look like.
I just turned 40 years old, and it's taken me a lifetime and two pregnancies to get my body to this point, so how could I expect everything to change in just six months? Even though I don't see the physical progress I thought I would in half a year of intense workouts, five days a week, the progress I see in what my body can do is what's become my focus.
I've hit some pretty monumental goals like climbing a 15-foot rope, doing my first strict pull-up, and a handstand push-up, and that feeling of pride has overcome my feelings of insecurity about my flabby, wrinkly baby belly. It's given me this newfound confidence and inspiration to become even stronger. It feels like for most of my life, I've been in a constant battle with myself, to do everything possible to shrink down and take up less space, but I actually like the feeling of taking up more.
So what if I'm not where I want to be? I'm getting there, right? And I'll continue to take progress photos each month so that one day I'll look back on these six-month pictures and see how this was just one step in my journey to becoming the strongest, best version of me.
And even though sharing these photos of me not quite reaching my goals is a little mortifying, the one thing that makes it easy is to think that someone on their own weight-loss or fitness journey relates to my story, and finds inspiration to keep pushing themselves and celebrate every moment of progress, no matter how small they think it is.

An Expert Debunks This Myth About Your Pores
When it comes to my complexion, I'm kind of a control freak. I need my dark circles to be invisible, any breakouts to be tamed, and hyperpigmentation faded, stat. But even when I'm feeling stellar about my skin, I seem to always be plagued by one stubborn concern: enlarged pores.
To my frustration, I heard through the grapevine that they couldn't be treated. "You know, once your pores are stretched out, they're stretched for good," a colleague claimed. I refused to accept this as fact, so I reached out to Dr. Craig Austin, New York City dermatologist and founder of Cane + Austin. Luckily, he dispelled those rumors and assuaged my concerns.
"You absolutely can shrink your pores," he told me. As it turns out, knowing what pores actually are is essential to making them smaller.
The little openings are the home of all the hair follicles and sebaceous (oil-producing) glands in your skin. Buildup of that oil often leads to pore-enlarging blackheads, a mild form of acne. "Blackheads are caused by accumulation of bacteria in the pore," explained Dr. Austin. So when that bacteria mixes with oil and dead skin cells, the small opening gets congested and gets larger.
The analogy that makes sense to me is comparing pores to a garden hose. If you block the end of the hose, then turn it on, water can't get out. Similarly, when the hardened oil of a blackhead clogs a pore, the sebum struggles (and ultimately fails) to flow through freely. The blackhead then grows larger and larger, stretching out your pores.
It makes sense, then, that clearing out your pores is essential to making them smaller. After all, removing the gunk inside will allow them to shrink back to their original size. But instead of squeezing out the offending blemish (don't pick your skin!), Dr. Austin advises treating them with a combination of glycolic and salicylic acids.
Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid, a powerful exfoliant that removes the dull, dead top layer of the skin. "Additionally, it helps exfoliate the hair follicle," explained Dr. Austin. That means the ingredient goes within the pore and scrubs it out.
To really tackle your pores, you want to partner an alpha hydroxy acid with a beta hydroxy acid, which will cut through oil. Salicylic acid is a particularly popular choice in the antiblemish category, as it has kerolytic properties.
"A keratolytic gets rid of keratin and sebum, which both block pores," he shared. (Keratin is the protein that binds skin cells together and causes dead cells to remain on your complexion's surface.) "By removing sebum, keratin, and bacteria, your pores will shrink."
The doctor is partial to Cane + Austin Acne Retexture Pads ($60), and I've also seen success using BeautyRx Dermstick for Pores ($29) and Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Night Serum ($90), all of which contain both glycolic and salicylic acids. However, I recommend you visit a dermatologist to see what's best for you. "Your dermatologist might prescribe prescription Retin-A, which functions to open up hair follicles to remove sebum and keratin," Dr. Austin added.
Because of their exfoliating superpowers, glycolic and salicylic acids are often found in at-home chemical peels, which are recommended to treat enlarged pores. (I like Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peels ($16) - they contain a bunch of effective acids including glycolic and salicylic.) However, while facial scrubs and chemical peels both slough the complexion's surface, they do not function in the same way. Acids are actually working to break down the bonds holding dead cells onto your skin. Facial scrubs use microbeads, crushed walnut shells, salt, or other materials to physically scour your face. It is essential that you don't substitute one of these for an acid-based treatment. "The friction [of a face scrub could result in] potential thickening of the skin, which may cause a blockage of the pores," warned Dr. Austin.
If your pores aren't congested but you're still dissatisfied with their appearance, it could be one of two other major suspects: aging and sun damage. Both affect elastic tissue, which surrounds each of the tiny openings. "Elastic tissue is part of the connective tissue, which holds the skin together," Dr. Austin explained. Aging and sun damage lead to the degeneration of elastic tissue, and when this occurs, the pore loses its support, causing it to dilate.
Unfortunately, fighting these causes of stretched-out pores is more challenging than those that are larger from being congested. Because aging and sun damage occur slowly over a long period of time, reversing the process will be time consuming. (Sadly, my enlarged pores are another reminder that I'm getting older.) But it's not all bad news. Glycolic acid does stimulate production of new collagen and elastic tissues, which helps firm skin and close the pores.
However, if you're as impatient I am , there are two options to consider during your next visit to the dermatologist. "An in-office glycolic chemical peel - a stronger upgrade from over-the-counter peels - is super effective," Dr. Austin told us. "An even deeper option is a nonablative Fraxel treatment, which requires a few days of skin recovery." Learn more about how resurfacing Fraxel lasers work here.
Above all, it's essential to remember that consistency is the key when it comes to skin care. If you're really passionate about shrinking your pores, use your favorite chemical exfoliant religiously! With time, you should see results - and by that, I mean you'll see fewer and fewer of those pesky enlarged pores.

I Made These 3 Changes at Breakfast and Finally Started Losing Weight
Despite eating (what I thought was) a wholesome breakfast every morning, the pounds weren't dropping. So why was I not losing weight? All the experts say breakfast is key to boosting metabolism, after all. I didn't realize I was making three huge mistakes, but once I changed them, I could see the difference in how my body looked.
Bye-Bye Granola
Cereal was my go-to breakfast all the way from elementary school through college. Although sweet, delicious, and easy, it was the worst breakfast for me. It's full of sugary carbs and not much fiber or protein. I even went for the healthy stuff like Kashi's GoLean Crunch, granola, and Raisin Bran, but cereal is cereal, and it's not the most nutritious choice on the menu. I started focusing on getting 13 to 20 grams of protein, at least six grams of fiber, and 10 to 15 grams of healthy fats. So I ditched the boxes for a blender and started sipping on smoothies. I also do overnight oats because it reminds me of cereal - I'm huge fan of the brownie batter and banana cashew.
What Time Is It?
Not sure where I heard that you're supposed to eat first thing in the morning and to never skip breakfast, but I followed that advice diligently. I ate within a half hour after waking up, around 7:30, even if I wasn't hungry (99 percent of the time I wasn't). I'm convinced it turned on my hunger because by 9 a.m., I was starving, which translated to eating two breakfasts, and that meant twice the calories. No wonder I wasn't slimming down! Now I wake up, get in a workout, and usually don't feel hungry until 9 or 10. Listening to my body's cues when it comes to breakfast has carried through to other parts of my day. I eat when I'm hungry, not when the clock tells me to.
Tablespoons Aren't Just For Baking
Another huge mistake? I never measured anything. When I was eating cereal, I grabbed a huge bowl - way bigger than your typical soup or salad bowl - and poured with abandon. I usually mixed three different cereals; added raisins, nuts, and blueberries or banana; and used Very Vanilla soy milk. Holy calories! No joke - my bowl was easily pushing 600. Same went for oatmeal, yogurt with fruit and granola, toast, or smoothies. I got out my cups and spoons and measured everything, making sure it was around 400 calories. To this day, I still measure everything to avoid accidentally eyeballing higher amounts.

6 Places Kate Middleton Lived Before Becoming a Princess
Kate Middleton hasn't always resided in a 10-bedroom country estate or 21-room apartment at Kensington Palace. Long before meeting and marrying Prince William, Kate was just a regular girl who moved around with her family, studied abroad, lived in college dorms, and even shared a flat with her little sister. Here are all the places Kate lived before her life became a royal one.
- Berkshire, England: Kate was born to parents Michael and Carole Middleton at the ironically named Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The upper-middle-class family lived in a modest, brick Victorian "with a cramped kitchen" in Bradfield Southend. They later purchased at Oak Acre, a five-bedroom Tudor-style country house in nearby Bucklebury, Berkshire.
- Amman, Jordan: While working as a flight dispatcher for British Airways, Michael and his family were relocated to Jordan. Kate lived there from 1984 to 1987.
- Wiltshire, England: Kate studied at Marlborough College, a coed boarding school, in 1996.
- Florence, Italy: After finishing her studies at Marlborough, 18-year-old Kate headed to Florence to study Italian and art history. She completed a three-month course at the British Institute of Florence in Palazzo dello Strozzino.
- Fife, Scotland: In 2001, Kate moved to Scotland to study at the University of St. Andrews and lived in three areas of on-campus student housing. It was at one of them, St Salvator's Hall, that she met Prince William. She went on to graduate with a master's degree in art history.
- London, England: Postcollege, Kate accepted a position as an accessory buyer with British retailer Jigsaw and moved into a flat in London's exclusive Chelsea neighborhood with her sister Pippa; Carole and Michael Middleton purchased the apartment in 2002 for all three of their children to live in. Pippa continued to reside there with their brother James well after Kate married Will and moved to a four-bedroom farmhouse on the Welsh island of Anglesey.

These Pictures of Kate and Leo Holding Hands Will Melt Your Iceberg of a Heart
Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio may not have ever been a couple in real life, but they will forever be one of our favorite duos. Their special bond started when they starred in Titanic together in 1997, and their friendship has only grown from there. In addition to sharing the screen again in 2008's Revolutionary Road, Kate and Leo also hit red carpets together, share backstage embraces, and gush about their love for each other in interviews. Oh, and Leo also gave Kate away at her 2012 wedding to Ned Rocknroll. One thing the duo does on a regular basis that perfectly reflects this closeness is hold hands. Keep reading to see what we mean (while listening to "My Heart Will Go On," obviously).

How to Get Away With Murder: Who Killed Wes?
How to Get Away With Murder has gone out of its way to prove to us that Wes Gibbons is completely, without question, super dead, showing us very graphic images of his burned corpse - and now we know who killed him. We found out about his fate on the Winter finale episode, and the second half of the season has been all about exposing how he dies. Of course, this is a Shonda Rhimes show, so there are a number of red herrings thrown in along the way.
After the midseason premiere, we were convinced that the killer is Frank, then in the penultimate episode of the season, we momentarily think it's Connor. But nope, none of the above. The real killer is . . . a hitman named Dominic! (Kind of a letdown, eh?) But wait, he's a hitman who is employed by . . . Laurel's dad, Jorge Castillo! And Dominic is a family friend of Laurel's!
"There might be a reveal," actress Karla Souza teased to Entertainment Weekly, speaking about what's to come next season. "I think they're going to humanize my father, so we're going to find out a real reason why he decided to kill Wes, but I do think it has to be rooted in something rather than just for the sake of it."
Shocking, and yet the real twist is that we're supposed to believe that Charles Mahoney (played by 32-year-old Wilson Bethel) fathered Wes (played by 28-year-old Alfred Enoch)? OK.
Meet the 3 Performers Who Play Moonlight's Dynamic Main Character
Image Source: Getty / Steven A Henry
It's time to get out of the house and go see Moonlight. The movie, inspired by the screenwriter's real experiences growing up in Miami, is all over award season right now. It took home the Golden Globe for best drama and is primed to take home a number of awards at the Oscars. While Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris have scored a majority of the acting nods, he plays a supporting part. The main character is Chiron, who is beautifully acted by three performers; each plays Chiron at a different stage in his life. Here's a primer on each of these talented men!
Alex R. Hibbert as "Little"
Twelve-year-old Hibbert plays the first version of Chiron, who is nicknamed "Little" because of his small stature. So far, Moonlight is Hibbert's first and only role. Hibbert had a personal connection to the role, as he grew up in Miami in a neighborhood similar to the one where the movie is set. "In my community, there's people there that care for you, even though they do bad stuff, like, they sell drugs and stuff," he told NPR. "But, inside they care and they have a heart."
Ashton Sanders as Chiron

Sanders was slightly more experienced when he earned his part of teenage Chiron in Moonlight. He first starred in an indie film called The Retrieval in 2013, then had a small part in 2015's Straight Outta Compton. Like Hibbert, Sanders also related to elements of the movie: "I was bullied from elementary to middle school," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I wasn't as tormented as Chiron was, but taking those experiences and heightening them up was definitely key for me, and allowed me to fully understand the character and drop into the lifestyle of Chiron."
Trevante Rhodes as "Black"
Rhodes, who plays Chiron in his adulthood (now going by the moniker "Black"), is the most seasoned performer. He's one of the stars of If Loving You Is Wrong, Tyler Perry's drama on the OWN network. He's also been in a number of small films and an episode of Westworld. While he's not yet a household name, Rhodes said that people have been recognizing him more even since the trailer came out, telling People: "It's a two minute trailer, and I didn't really expect people to come up to me, but in the gym I had people come up to me teary-eyed and express their love and gratitude for the work. It's just the most insane thing."
Connie Britton Opens Up About Rayna's Devastating Twist on Nashville
Warning: Massive spoiler alert!
Rayna's reign over Nashville came to an end this week, when she dies from complications related to her car accident. The death is devastating for Deacon and her kids, and actress Connie Britton opened up about the twist in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. While she admits she probably won't watch the show anymore (she barely does now), she did say that she was willing to appear on the second half of the season, but the showrunners had already determined an end for Rayna's storyline. Britton confirmed that she'll appear on "at least a couple" more episodes, and she'll "absolutely" return for the series finale. Here are some other highlights from the interview:
- She had mind of her mind to leave the show" "It was my decision. It was something that, for various reasons, had been percolating for me. What was really important to me was that it felt like the right time. This summer, when the show went to CMT, it felt solid and stable. When [producer] Marshall [Herskovitz] came in, we had a conversation and he came up with the way this story would lay out. We both agreed - and I said to him that what was most important to me was that we really do justice and honor the character and all of these characters and the world that we've been living in for these last five years."
- Her choice didn't have anything to do with the show's move to CMT: "There were a lot of different factors that played into it; it was a cumulative thing. I don't need to go into great detail about what that was but for me, it felt like the timing was important and my No. 1 priority was the show and making sure that it was done in the right way."
- Leaving the cast was harder than she anticipated: "It was incredibly emotional. It was very difficult for me and it still is. It's hard for me to talk about without getting a little choked up [pauses] . . . because I love this character so much and the people I've been fortunate to act with for the last five years and our crew. This has become an essential part of my life. It was really tough doing those last couple weeks especially. Those scenes were so emotional. Toward the last couple days, which is when we shot the really intense scenes in the ICU and the one where Rayna actually dies, nobody could get through them without crying. Saying goodbye is really hard."
- She would have chosen to end her run differently: "I actually said, 'Is there a way to do this where she doesn't die?' But we thought about it and [creator] Callie [Khouri], too, and we realized that Rayna would never leave her children or Deacon. So there really wasn't any other alternative. Trust me, if there had been that would have been my preference!"
Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross Are Adorably Smitten During a Day Date in LA
Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross stepped out in LA on Thursday looking all sorts of cute. The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, were photographed taking a walk after leaving Fred Segal. The pair held hands, shared a sweet kiss, and laughed as they made their way to their car. The cute outing comes less than two months after they only had eyes for each other at a pre-Golden Globes party. We love seeing their PDA and all, but we also need just a bit more of their adorable family in our lives. Ashlee and Evan are parents to daughter Jagger, and Ashlee is also mom to son Bronx, whom she shares with ex Pete Wentz.
