Watch the Best Oscars Acceptance Speech Ever, Courtesy of Rita Moreno in 1962

Rita Moreno paved the way for Latinas in entertainment 55 years ago. The Puerto Rican-born Hollywood trailblazer won best supporting actress at the Oscars in 1962 for her powerful (and frequently emulated) role as Anita in West Side Story, and as one of five Oscar-winning Latino actors - seriously, only five - she's still a huge influencer in both our community and the industry. (Maybe you've seen her as Rogelio De La Vega's mom, Liliana, on Jane the Virgin or as Lydia in Netflix's One Day at a Time?)

But perhaps the most endearing thing about her Oscars win was her acceptance speech - or lack thereof. In preparation for the 89th Academy Awards on Feb. 26, we unearthed the black-and-white clip of the groundbreaking moment in history, and it's a must see.

Watch Rita, wearing an adorable updo and structured dress, fast-walk up to the stage, smile wide, and say, "I can't believe it! Good lord . . . I'll leave you with that!"

Mic drop.

Who Is Isabelle Huppert? Get to Know the "Meryl Streep of France"

Call it the battle of two Meryls. In one corner, there's the record-breaking queen of American cinema, Meryl Streep. Her opponent? The so-called "Meryl Streep of France," Isabelle Huppert. And on Feb. 26, the two will battle it out for the Best Actress honor at the 89th annual Academy Awards.

But who is Isabelle Huppert, and how did she seemingly become an overnight film sensation in her 60s? (Spoiler alert: there was nothing "overnight" about it.) Here are eight things you need to know about the actress.

  1. She's been in the acting game for a long time. Although the current buzz around Huppert is regarding her Oscar nominated turn in Elle as a businesswoman on the hunt for her rapist, the 63-year old made her silver screen debut 40 years ago, starring in the French film, La Dentellière.
  2. You might be saying her name wrong. Fight the urge to rely on American English phonetics. It's pronounced: "EE-zah-bell EU-pair."
  3. She works. A lot. Since getting her start, Huppert has appeared in more than 100 films, and has worked with industry legends including Claude Chabrol and Curtis Hanson. Elle wasn't her only movie last year - she also appeared in Things to Come from French director Mia Hansen-Love.
  4. She's no stranger to awards. This may be her first Academy Award nomination, but she's been nominated for France's equivalent award, the César, 16 times (with one win for 1995's La Cérémonie). She also has the distinct honor of being the actress who has had the most films (18 as of last year) compete in the Cannes Film Festival, and she's won that festival's prestigious Best Interpretation Award twice - something only four actresses have ever done.
  5. She's repping France hard. Huppert is one of 13 French actresses to ever receive an Oscar nomination, and she's one of just seven to be nominated for a French-language performance.

  6. She's famous for her work on stage and screen. Not only does Huppert have a fruitful career on screen; she's also a veteran stage actress, earning six nominations for the Molière Award, France's equivalent of the Tony. Makes sense: she studied theater at the Versailles Conservatoire, and later spent time at the Rue Blanche theater school and the Conservatoire National d'Art Dramatique.
  7. She has a busy family life, too. Huppert has been married to writer, director, and producer Ronald-Ariel Chammah since 1982, and he directed her in the 1987 film, Le Milan Noir (Black Milan). The cinematic duo have three children together: Lolita, Lorenzo, and Angelo. At least one of them caught the acting bug (or gene): Lolita has appeared in three films with her mom.
  8. She's busier than ever. She's currently filming the Benoît Jacquot film, Eva, and has six other films set to premiere this year (including Madame Hyde, which is loosely based on The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Parents Share Heartbreaking Warning After Their 11-Year-Old's Deadly Allergic Reaction

When 11-year-old Oakley Debbs ate a piece of cake over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend last November, his family had no idea that it had the potential to kill him.

Oakley had a peanut allergy and when he realized his mistake, his family was alarmed but gave him Benadryl, which seemed to do the trick. His mom, Merrill, explained to WMTW that the allergy medicine had always worked in the past after an accidental consumption of nuts. She also shared that he felt "great" for the rest of the evening after taking the medicine. However, his condition took a drastic turn later that night and he went from playing with cousins and his twin sister to vomiting. Within minutes the child could no longer breathe.

"He was blue," Merrill said. "He was unconscious. My husband was holding him. He basically was gone." Four days later, Oakley died in the hospital and his parents are now speaking out to hopefully prevent other families from enduring the same tragedy.

The family shared their remorse for not knowing how dangerous their son's allergy really was and explained that if they had known, they would have taken immediate action. According to the family, they always thought Oakley's asthma was a much bigger threat and focused on that condition because they weren't aware of the severity of his allergy. "There was always an asthma plan. We didn't really have a defined nut plan which we're finding out needs to be really defined," Oakley's dad Robert said.

On the day of their son's death, Oakley's family started the Red Sneakers Foundation in honor of his favorite shoes. This organization was created to help raise awareness for food allergies as well as change labels on food packaging. "If someone wrote, 'Contains nuts, may kill you,' like cigarettes or something, people would understand it," Robert said.

Bill Paxton's 9 Most Memorable Roles

This week, the entertainment industry lost another shining star when we learned that Bill Paxton died at the age of 61. Paxton was a well-known actor who's played big and small roles for the last few decades, but no matter the size of the role, his presence was indelibly memorable. From roles in huge movies like Titanic to leading shows like HBO's Big Love, Paxton starred in so many things that you loved, and that made him one of those recognizable film faces. And, tragically, he was nowhere near slowing down - he was one of the stars of CBS's new midseason drama Training Day, and he has a 2017 film coming up, The Circle, that has yet to be released. But for now, we're looking back at the past roles we'll never forget.

You Won't Have to Look at Shay Mitchell's Swimsuit Long to Notice This Detail

Once the temperature dips below a certain degree, we get the urge to travel - preferably to a warm, sunny location, where we can rock a swimsuit instead of a puffed-up parka. Shay Mitchell is likely feeling the same, as the star 'grammed a throwback pic of herself in a Positino, Italy, shower, showing off white shades and a stylish green one-piece. The photo made us feel a tad emotional - oh, how we miss those beach-ready days! - but we still "oohed" and "ahhed" over Shay's sexy swimwear, which included fun cutout details on the back and side.

Yet while the weather (especially on the East Coast) isn't exactly appropriate for this type of get-up, the color choice couldn't be more perfect. Considering the recent holiday season, green pieces are a definite must, and Shay's little snap is a great reminder to start scooping 'em up. Scroll through to see Shay's suit once more, then shop something inspired by it - both for vacation and not - ahead.

Audi's Super Bowl Ad With a Dad Contemplating His Daughter's Worth Will Give You Chills

"What do I tell my daughter?" begins the voice-over in a touching Super Bowl commercial that Audi just debuted. The ad, titled "Daughter," features a fearless young girl competing in a downhill cart race while her father contemplates her future as he narrates. The cinematic spot, which aired during the big game's third quarter, is going to give you major chills.

"Do I tell her that her grandpa is worth more than her grandma?" asks the father as he watches his daughter race. "That her dad is worth more than her mom? Do I tell her that despite her education, her drive, her skills, her intelligence, she will automatically be valued as less than every man she ever meets?"

After these provocative questions, the dad's somber narration takes a different direction as his girl crosses the finish line victorious and he says, "Or maybe, I'll be able to tell her something different."

Audi, which has publicly pledged to support women's pay equality in the workplace and is committed to fostering an equal work environment for all employees, ends its powerful ad with an equally powerful message: "Progress is for everyone."

To Those Who Loved La La Land but Hated the Ending, Read This

La La Land is taking award season by storm, racking up tons of Oscar nominations, in addition to being the most romantic movie in years. But there seems to be a general consensus from even the most fervent of fans: the ending. (Obviously, spoilers ahead.)

At the end of the movie, Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone's characters don't end up together, a fact that, anecdotally, has caused pretty much everyone I know who's seen it to say something along the lines of: "I saw La La Land. I loved it. But the ending: WTF?!" It's a seemingly universal sentiment, and while there will probably never be a sequel to show the two leads getting back together, director Damien Chazelle's explanation might make you feel better - or at least might make you understand it more.

Speaking at TIFF back when the movie first premiered in September 2016, Chazelle was asked why Stone and Gosling's characters don't end up together. Here's what he had to say:

"Real life doesn't always live up to the dreams in the movies, but that, in a way, is a great subject for a movie. And that's kind of what drove me with this: making a movie that was definitely informed by these idealized visions that you get from the old Hollywood musicals, but one in which hopefully you have to question a little bit whether real life lives up and what the give and take has to be.

"I find movies where the lovers wind up not together more romantic."
These are characters who - and every character in the movie to a certain extent - has to negotiate the balance between dreams and reality, as we all do. To me, it's trying to say something about that. I find movies where the lovers wind up not together more romantic. When they wind up together, it's like you don't know what's going to happen after the movie . . . but these two will always be a perfect pair for me."

14 Things You Probably Didn't Know About La La Land

La La Land is causing a fan frenzy this award season. Not only does it feature a star-studded cast, but it is also bringing back musicals in a big way. Even if you're already familiar with the enchanting music and the romantic story, there are quite a few interesting tidbits about the film you probably didn't know. Was Ryan Gosling really playing the piano during the movie? And why is Emma Stone's dress yellow? Find out below.

No End in Sight: AMC Confirms That The Walking Dead Will "Have a Long Life"

We're nearing the end of season seven on The Walking Dead, which means it's more or less time to take stock. With the prolific and long-running comic-book series serving as the source material for the TV show, it's been harder and harder not to succumb to temptation and look ahead at what's to come. How long will we get to spend with the extravagant King Ezekiel? What's in store for Jesus, the rebel with a heart of gold? With many more comic issues to burn through yet, it's hard not to wonder how much more of the show is left for us to see. If that question's been on your mind, we've uncovered a pretty interesting answer.

As you may or may not know, Negan's brutal arrival at the beginning of this season meant we had officially reached the game-changing 100th issue of the comics. With Issue 161's Dec. 7 release, it's clear we've only burned through about 2/3 of the comic books. More plainly, if it took us six seasons to get through 100 issues, we've still got a solid handful of seasons to go before we're all caught up. But wait, that's not all! To help clarify what the future may hold, creator Robert Kirkman recently stopped by Kevin Smith's late-night talk show Geeking Out. Check out the clip below.

In February 2017, AMC Networks confirmed that the show isn't going anywhere. CEO Josh Sapan stated that "the show continues to have creative strength and command a large and loyal audience, which has in turn attracted ad revenue to our great benefit." He continued, noting that "The Walking Dead remains the number one show on television among younger viewers by a very wide margin . . . we believe it will have a long life that accrues to our strategic position and financial benefit."

The biggest takeaway here is that there's no end in sight for the comic books. If they make it to Issue 200, that would logically mean we could get up to 12 seasons of the TV show. Furthermore, if you consider Kirkman's sentiment about the comics outliving the show, the sky's really the limit. Basically, as long as AMC continues to renew the show - and it seems like they will - there will be plenty of new material to burn through. Seeing as we've already received news of an eighth season renewal, new episodes will air, at the very least, until mid-2018. Buckle up, TWD fans. We've got a long way to go.

4 Theories About Kylo Ren and Rey's "Strange Connection" in Star Wars

If you think the Force has awakened in the Star Wars universe, just wait until you catch wind of this. Recently, it seems the official Star Wars website made two seemingly tiny changes to the bios of Kylo Ren and Rey. On Kylo's side, it says, "A mysterious connection seemed to link the two." Meanwhile, on Rey's side, it says she was "captured by the dark side warrior Kylo Ren, with whom she shared a strange connection." Hold up. Strange? Mysterious? It's true, we had an inkling that there was more to their relationship than meets the eye, but maybe we're not going deep enough. So we came up with some theories.

1. They're Related

One of the most common theories about Rey's parents is that she's a Skywalker. Sure, it's obvious. But Rey does find Luke's lightsaber by sheer power of the Force. She shows obvious Force sensitivity and enhanced abilities out the gate. Then there's the fact that Kylo Ren sees the island Luke's on while reading Rey's mind! Kylo Ren is obviously a Skywalker: he's the son of Leia Organa. If the two are related, it's a crazy showdown of brother and sister, of Luke and Leia, and of the dark side and the light.

2. They're Destined For the Classic Skywalker/Palpatine Model

Another popular theory out there is that Rey is a descendant of Emperor Palpatine. This would set her and Kylo Ren up for a Star Wars face-off that occurs in every single trilogy: a Palpatine vs. a Skywalker. In the first trilogy (numerically), Anakin Skywalker faces off against Emperor Palpatine. In the second, Luke goes up against the same villain, who has since become even more evil. This would create a sort of destiny between the two names. Rey, a Palpatine, going against Kylo Ren, a Skywalker. What's more, the Palpatine bloodline has shifted to the light side, while a Skywalker has gone dark. Who knows how it could turn out?

3. They Mark the End of the Jedi and the Sith

In this new trilogy, there are no Jedi or Sith . . . yet. On the good side, we have Force-sensitive individuals like Maz Kanata and Lor San Tekka and Rey and even Finn. They all demonstrate Force skills in varying degrees, but none of them are Jedi knights. Kylo Ren, of course, is a member of the First Order, but neither he nor Snoke identifies as a Sith lord. Now that we know Episode VIII is called The Last Jedi, it seems we're coming to a real turning point. Regardless of who the last Jedi is, what if Rey and Kylo Ren represent the future of the galaxy? What if everything changes once they both harness their power? It's hard to say what this would mean, but it's certainly interesting to consider.

4. Their Connection Will Result in Insane Consequences

We know Kylo Ren is very troubled. It's clear his journey to the dark side has been tumultuous, and Han Solo very nearly draws him out of it. Rey, on the other hand, seems to have a darkness in her. There's that moment during her lightsaber duel with Kylo Ren, where she very nearly delivers a deadly blow and kills him. Furthermore, Kylo recognizes this darkness in her as well. He offers to train her! What if they switch spots? What if Kylo pulls Rey to the dark side just as he finds himself drawn to the light? What if all the heroes are actually villains and vice versa? It could change the whole trilogy as we know it.

The Last Jedi hits theaters on Dec. 15.

What You Should Know About the Disturbing Allegations of Sexual Harassment Against Casey Affleck

Image Source: Getty / Laura Cavanaugh

Casey Affleck is currently riding high on the Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win for his latest film, Manchester by the Sea, but his skyrocketing career isn't the only part of the 41-year-old's life that's been pulled into the spotlight. Amid all of the rave reviews for his dark, emotional performance, serious allegations of sexual harassment made against him by two women in 2010 have come back to haunt him.

In October 2016, Variety ran a cover story on Affleck, and squeezed in between stories about his childhood and glowing praise for his acting abilities was a brief blip about the lawsuits, which were brought against him by the female producer and the cinematographer of his 2010 mockumentary I'm Still Here. "People say whatever they want," he told Variety when asked about the charges, which were later settled out of court. "Sometimes it doesn't matter how you respond . . . I guess people think if you're well-known, it's perfectly fine to say anything you want. I don't know why that is. But it shouldn't be, because everybody has families and lives." Despite his family-centric brushoff of the claims, what allegedly happened between him and the women working on the set of his film deserves far more than a blip.

Affleck and other male crew members allegedly almost immediately made comments about having sex with her and suggested she have sex with the film's camera assistant.
The harassment occurred multiple times on the set of the ill-received mockumentary Affleck made with his then-brother-in-law Joaquin Phoenix, according to the film's producer Amanda White and its cinematographer Magdalena Gorka. In December 2008, White signed on to be a producer of the doc after having worked with Affleck a few times in the past. In her formal complaint (which you can read in full here), she claimed that the younger Affleck brother repeatedly called women "cows" on set, obnoxiously discussed his sexual encounters, and at one point ordered a crew member to flash his penis at her despite her objections. She also made note of an incident where Affleck asked "Isn't it about time you get pregnant?" after hearing how old she was and made comments about how she should have sex with one of the male crew members so she could have a baby.

On top of White's accusations about his lewd behavior, she claimed that Affleck physically threatened her more than once. She said that after rebuffing his request to share a hotel room with him one night, he grabbed her in "a hostile manner" to try to manipulate her into submitting to his demands. She alleged that when she still said no, he called her a variety of "profane names" via text message. White further alleged that while shooting the documentary in Costa Rica one night, she wasn't able to return to her bedroom because Affleck and Phoenix - the brother of Affleck's wife, Summer, whom he split from after 10 years of marriage in March 2016 - had locked the door so they could have sex with two women they'd invited inside. On July 23, 2010, White filed a $2 million lawsuit against the actor in Los Angeles Superior Court.

While still working as a producer, White was instructed to renegotiate a contract with Magdalena Gorka, the film's director of photography, who'd left production early on because of her own alleged negative experiences with Affleck. Gorka described her time working with him in her formal complaint (which you can read in full here) as "the most traumatizing of her career" due to "routine instances of sexual harassment." When she first started working, Affleck and other male crew members allegedly almost immediately made comments about having sex with her and suggested she have sex with the film's camera assistant (Affleck's close friend). Gorka hoped that things would get better as production wore on, but she alleged that Affleck's behavior only escalated.

In mid-December 2008, she traveled to NYC with other crew members to shoot scenes involving Phoenix. Instead of putting the crew up in a hotel, Affleck and Phoenix decided to have them stay overnight in their apartment. Gorka claimed that Phoenix told her she could take his bedroom while he slept in the living room, only for her to wake up in the middle of the night and discover Affleck was lying in bed with her. In her complaint, she described him as "curled up next to her in the bed wearing only his underwear and a T-shirt. He had his arm around her, was caressing her back, his face was within inches of hers and his breath reeked of alcohol." Feeling "shocked and repulsed" since she wasn't sure of how long he'd been there or if he'd touched her while she slept, she said she told him to get out. He allegedly asked her why he had to leave, to which she replied, "Because you are married and you are my boss." She said he "left and slammed the door in anger." The next morning, Gorka flew back to LA, told her agent what allegedly happened, and quit I'm Still Here.

After going a few weeks without work, White convinced Gorka to continue working on the film, which she agreed to in hopes that the presence of both women on set would deter further harassment. Unfortunately, Gorka alleges that she was once again subjected to "a nearly daily barrage of sexual comments, innuendo, and unwelcome advances by crew members, within the presence and with the active encouragement of Affleck." She resigned once again, which she said resulted in Affleck refusing to give her the "director of photography" credit on the film as retaliation. One week after White filed her lawsuit in 2010, Gorka filed a $2.25 million suit of her own against Affleck in LA Superior Court, citing the "humiliation, embarrassment, and emotional distress as a direct result of the harassment and abuse she endured during production." White also claimed she was denied the payment of her producer's fee ($50,000) after complaining about Affleck's behavior and that she had yet to be paid at all for the three months she worked on the film at the time she filed her official complaint. Affleck initially denied the allegations and briefly threatened to countersue but eventually settled both suits out of court through mediation.

The Golden Globe Awards aired in January, kicking off a long line of award season appearances from the actor thanks to the multiple award shows and ceremonies scheduled through February. Unlike Nate Parker and Bill Cosby before him (both of whose alleged crimes are different and legally more serious, it's important to note), Affleck has been raking in accolade after accolade rather than career-ending blows to his reputation. So far he's won a BAFTA, a Golden Globe, a Gotham award, and more for his work in Manchester by the Sea. Much like a former reality star who was elected into the highest office our country has after bragging about his preferred methods of sexual assault and a high-profile actor who's scored plenty of roles after being involved in a domestic violence dispute, it doesn't look like Affleck is going to be tried in the court of public opinion for his alleged actions. In fact, it's quite the opposite. It's pretty clear that Hollywood is not only standing by him, but celebrating him.

The Bags of Milan Fashion Week: It's the Little Things

Milan radiates an inimitable style all its own, cool and confident and effortlessly chic. As the world converges upon this style mecca for the Fall '17 shows, we're reminded of its original brand of creative luxury. So if you, like us, have a taste for the finer things, then you're in the right place. We're zeroing in on the bags that just hit the runways - and they're a treat sweeter than gelato. Stay tuned for what's ahead in bags.

Dolce & Gabbana Delivers a Collection For Modern-Day Royals

There are runways and there are fashion shows, of which Dolce & Gabbana's Fall '17 production is certainly the latter. The design house turned to influencers, Instagram celebrities, friends of the brand, and Hollywood legacies to cast its latest catwalk. You'll spot bloggers like Aimee Song, fashion girls like, Harley Viera-Newton, and an actual princess, Princess Olympia of Greece walking the runway. Our modern-day royals, if you will.

Likewise, the clothes were made to suit the kings and queens of social media and of the fashion world. Armed with attention-getting cat print robes, patchwork jeans, sheer dresses, embroidered tuxedos, and (naturally) crowns, this collection is crafted for the girls and guys who either have a following to wow - or, perhaps, are looking for it.

Allow Us to Introduce You to the New Gucci Bags

If the Fall 2017 Gucci models weren't carrying ornate-looking canes or umbrellas, stitched with graffiti artist Coco Capitán's writing, then they were toting bags. How else do you expect them to introduce us to the new It accessories? These snakeskin cases and work totes will soon be on the arms of men and women alike. But the new connector straps, which string together a trio of handbags, were surely the most covetable design on the runway, speaking to the fact that three bags really are better than one.

Rest assured there's a style for every occasion, even a fanny pack affixed with the brand's signature hardware is perfect for going hands-free. Here, you'll find a detailed description of where the bags are headed for the new season, so scroll to get ahead of the game.

Viola Davis Prayed For a Husband and Was Blessed With a Real Winner

Viola Davis took home the SAG Award for best supporting actress on Sunday night, and the phenomenal Fences and How to Get Away With Murder star had her biggest fan by her side: her husband, Julius Tennon. Viola and Julius, a theater veteran and TV actor, met on the set of City of Angels in 1999, just weeks after Viola prayed for a husband. "I was the loneliest woman in the world, and someone said, 'You should just pray for a husband,'" she told Page Six. "I said I wanted a big black man from the South who looked like a football player, who already had children, who maybe had been married before. Three and a half weeks later, I met my husband." The couple tied the knot in 2003 and recently renewed their vows with a star-studded second wedding ceremony; they share a daughter, Genesis, who they adopted as a newborn in 2011, as well as Julius's two sons from a previous relationship.

They have quickly become one of our favorite Hollywood couples to watch. The way Julius looks at Viola warms our hearts, and they seem to not just love each other to pieces, but really respect and value each other, too. They also dial their red carpet appearances up a notch by color-coordinating their outfits, which is just adorable. So far in 2017, Viola has made history by becoming the first black actress to be nominated for three Oscars and the first black actress to win five SAG Awards. But Julius, while obviously thrilled for his wife, is no slouch; he was admitted to the University of Tulsa on a full football scholarship and the first African American to graduate from its theater department. He's also starred on the small screen in Criminal Minds and ER and works with Viola as a copartner on their production company, JuVee Productions. We're taking a look at the cutest photos from Julius and Viola's 16-year relationship - look through to see them all now (seriously, how cute are their matching outfits?).

Get Your Wallet Ready Because Apple's AirPods Aren't Optional - They're Necessary

When Apple first announced the AirPods, I, like everyone else, was completely confused by them. Why did they look like Q-Tips? Why did they cost so much money? More importantly, Apple, how could you take away my headphone jack?! But after testing out a pair of AirPods for the past few weeks, I can see why they're worth it and why you might consider buying them for yourself.

Setting Them Up Is So Easy

Unlike several tech products out there, setting up AirPods is so easy. Open up the AirPod case near your iPhone and a pop-up screen should appear. Tap "Connect" and you're done. Once this step is done, just pop the AirPods into your ears. You'll hear a ding that lets you know it's connected to your iPhone. Press play on your music and you're set! I opened up Spotify on my first try and my iPhone already recognized my AirPods and started to play music through them, no additional setup required. Need to talk to someone or order your morning coffee? Take out one of the AirPods and the music automatically stops playing.

The AirPods Don't Fall Out

I'm someone who's barely on time for anything, which means I'm usually running to catch the bus to all sorts of events. The first time I ran, I clung onto my AirPods for dear life and probably looked like a complete weirdo running with my hands to my ears. I decided to test them the next day and didn't hold onto to them as I ran - and they stayed perfectly snug in my ear. If I ran with Apple's previous headphones or any other ones, they fell out or got tangled in my hair. Speaking of which . . .

Say Goodbye to Earphone Tangling

As someone with a lot of piercings, long hair, bracelets, and complicated jackets, I've always had a struggle with regular headphones. They get tangled in my hair or get caught in a button, which then sends the headphones and, sometimes, my iPhone into the air. Or they end up in a tangled mess by themselves. But with the AirPods, that never happens, and it becomes one less thing to worry about. Sometimes, the AirPods do get caught in my hair when I'm putting them on, but that's more a messy-hair-day problem than the AirPods' fault.

They Don't Look That Weird

OK, yes, the AirPods look like bizarre Q-Tips hanging from your ears, but they aren't the weirdest headphones out there. Personally, I hate the insanely large look of some over-ear headphones, and then there are trendy metallic headphones that will sometimes shine the sun into my eye on the bus. So really, earphones and headphones come in all shapes and sizes depending on your needs, so you shouldn't feel weird about the look of the AirPods. You get used to them, and if you have long hair, you can hide them.

Talking on the Phone Has Never Been Better

I know that as a millennial, I'm supposed to despise talking on the phone. But sometimes, you can't avoid it (looking at you, Mom). And unlike Apple's EarPods with a microphone, I don't need to hold the AirPods mere inches from my mouth for anyone to hear me. The sound is clear and more personal; no need to shout on the phone so the other person on the line can hear me.

The Battery Life Is Actually Great

Apple currently advertises the AirPods as having five hours of battery life on a single charge. But, in reality, the AirPods hold out for much longer than that. Since I only use them when I'm commuting, they can last me as long as five days. And if you own an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, you can charge your phone and listen to music without using the dongle. The one downside of the battery life is that you don't get much of a warning that the charging case needs a recharge, which has left me without earphones a few times.

The AirPods Are Worth the Investment

As someone on a budget, I find it insanely hard to make investments on longer lasting products. Yes, I know this $6 pair of tights will get a run on the second day I wear them, but they are cheaper than a $30 better pair of tights. The same logic applies to my headphones; is it annoying to constantly shell out $30 to $40 every few months for new earphones because the cable is frayed or only one ear works? Yes, but it's a cheaper option to the "fancier," high-end earphones. With the AirPods, however, the investment feels worth it. There's no chance of the cable fraying or listening out of one ear for a while. And if you lose one, you can replace one for $69. A hefty price, but that might make make you extra careful not to lose them.

But not everything is absolutely awesome about the AirPods. Siri works nicely on the AirPods, but it's not really something I see anyone using all the time. I'd rather listen to "Closer" by the Chainsmokers 10 times in a row than to say "Hey Siri, next song" in public. That's not the only downfall of AirPods either - the Bluetooth connection can also randomly get disconnected. Sometimes, I put my iPhone in my back pocket, and the music goes in and out because the Bluetooth connection isn't strong enough. Or I'll take out my AirPod out to order something and the music will stop for a second before resuming. Not the most ideal situation, but also not totally uncommon with Bluetooth devices.

Is this another pricey Apple product? Yes. Is it one that's worth your money? Yes, absolutely. You can buy AirPods online through the Apple Store for $159 and other retailers.

Why It's Important to Stop Drinking Shots of ACV

There's a lot to love about apple cider vinegar. Several studies support the claims that ACV helps the body lose weight and debloat. It also doesn't hurt that it's been shown to up energy levels either. And did we mention you can use it to wash your hair?! Before you start guzzling the bottle of ACV in your pantry, keep in mind that there's a right and a wrong way to drink the elixir.

First thing's first: while straight shots are a popular way to drink ACV - don't. Because its highly acidic, over time ACV has the potential to do real damage to both the esophagus and tooth enamel. Instead, dilute ACV into water. In general, one to two tablespoons mixed into eight ounces of water is the sweet spot (like you'll find in this delicious ACV honey drink).

Now that you have the formula down, you need to know exactly when to drink it if you're looking to reap any weight-loss benefits. Carol S. Johnston, PhD, directs Arizona State University's nutrition program and has been studying ACV for more than 10 years. Johnston recommends drinking an ACV drink once or twice a day and always right before you eat; you want the ACV to be in your stomach before any food makes it way there.

Johnston told the Washington Post that ACV helps to block some starch digestion whenever you eat. Since less starch (and less calories, essentially) are being digested by the body, the spike in blood sugar is lessened. Adding to this benefit is that the good-for-you bacteria in your gut happily feeds on this undigested starch, which can lead to less bloating and a healthier digestive system. If you drink ACV without food, there won't be anything for it to work off of, which probably defeats the whole purpose of drinking vinegar in the first place.

Why You Recognize the Star of the New Horror Film Get Out

In October, we got introduced to a terrifying new horror movie by Jordan Peele. It's called Get Out, and the creepy trailer is enough on its own to turn you off of white suburbia for good. But there's something else. The more time we spent watching the trailer and looking forward to the film, the more we began to feel like star Daniel Kaluuya looked very, very familiar. And then, it clicked!

Kaluuya actually appears in the first season of Black Mirror. He stars in the second episode, called "Fifteen Million Merits." The story tells of a futuristic dystopian society that revolves around 24-hour TV and the shallow entertainment of reality shows. In this world, civilians must cycle to power the society, earning a kind of currency known as Merits. We don't want to give too much away, but you might argue that it's a different kind of horror than Kaluuya experiences in his new film.

Additionally, you may recognize Kaluuya from his recurring roles on Skins, Psychoville, The Fades, and Babylon. On the movie side, he's been in Kick-Ass 2 and Sicario, and he recently joined the cast of Marvel's Black Panther! Now you know. And now you can get that much more excited to see Get Out when it hits theaters on Feb. 24.
