After Running For 15 Years, I Made This Change and Finally Lost My Belly
I started running after college to lose that freshman 40 I was holding onto. I learned a lot along the way, like what socks prevent blisters and how to shop for a sports bra so you don't have to wear two. But what I struggled with was losing weight, specifically belly fat. And after 15 years of running and experiencing two pregnancies, that still-pudgy pooch - although a sweet reminder that I was my kids' first home - was always the thing I pinched and poked when standing in front of a mirror.
So I signed up for a half marathon. I was convinced that all those training runs would surely slim my middle, but when I stepped on the scale, I was completely wrong. I was gaining weight because the hunger that came with those long workouts made me want to eat all the time. After the race, although I made some changes to my eating schedule to lose the weight I'd gained during training, my squishy belly wasn't budging, and it pissed me off. It wasn't like I was going to run more often or for longer distances. It was quite by accident that I figured out how running could help me ditch my mummy tummy.
One morning, I skipped the hour-long flat road run and turned into the woods near my house. I let my dog, Reuben, off leash, and we just started running. My pace was much slower because the terrain was so unpredictable. Rain had eroded away the path, creating holes, plus the slippery wooden bridges, the rocks and logs to leap over, and the hills - man, were there hills! I was huffing and puffing way more than on my previous runs, and my quads, calves, and butt were burning. I had to swing my arms more to get up those steep inclines, and trying to catch up to my dog added a little fire to my step. At the end of my 20-minute run, I felt like I did after running one hour.
After just two weeks of running those trails and those crazy hills, I felt an incredible sense of strength in my legs I hadn't experienced before in the 12 weeks I was training for the half. In the obstacle course that is the woods, my muscles were constantly guessing, since running in the woods is completely different than running on a sidewalk or a treadmill. It's like a dance because there's no monotony of movement. Every step is a little different, a little shift to one side or the other, a little shorter or longer than the one before.
Interval training had always seemed so forced when running through my neighborhood: I felt a little weird sprinting past my neighbor's house, so I skipped them and just stuck to my 9:00/9:30 minute-per-mile pace. But the hills forced me to switch up my pace, and I knew this type of training would be the key to ditching my tummy. Running this way was also really challenging to my mind. I felt a complete sense of calm afterward that I wasn't able to get to unless I did a long training run. Instant runner's high in just 20 minutes? I was floored.
And the added perk? My belly looked slimmer. I could see definition in my obliques - I had obliques! By no means am I saying I have a six-pack after a month of running in the woods, but I see now that I was pushing myself in the wrong way. I was working harder, not smarter. If you're struggling with a weight-loss plateau from running, the answer for you, too, might be found in the woods.

These New Smart Condoms Will Help Your Boyfriend Perform Better in the Bedroom
Just when you thought you'd seen it all, allow us to introduce you to i.Con, the "world's first smart condom." Created by British Condoms, the condom works as a wearable ring that men can attach over regular condoms during sex. The smart condom can then be used to measure and keep track of his thrust speed, how many calories he's burning (while thrusting), plus how long his romantic rendezvous lasts, and so much more.
According to the official website, the i.Con comes equipped with a micro USB port that you can plug into your computer for a quick, one-hour recharge. The condom can reportedly survive up to eight hours of "live" usage, which should be more than enough time to get the job done. The i.Con will also come with a one-year warranty for those of you who are left feeling, well, unsatisfied.
Fellas, if you're brave enough to review the stats of your sexual performance, all you have to do is use the i.Con app, which allows users to download their recent performance data. Once the data is downloaded, the smart condom automatically erases the previous stats to make room for your next session. Also, there's no need to be concerned about finding an i.Con in the right size. British Condoms says the smart condom ring comes with a band adjustment feature "to suit everyone's girth," big or small.
The i.Con is set to launch exclusively in the UK this year, but the company says it fully expects to expand the product worldwide due to high consumer interest. If this sounds like something you know someone in your life should try, sign up to be one of the first to know when the device is available here.
Katy Perry's Newest Hairstyle Is Giving Us Major Miley Vibes
We had to do a double take while looking at Katy Perry's most recent Instagram, because the singer is giving us major Miley Cyrus vibes. Before Miley shocked the world with her wardrobe and risqué performances, she shocked everyone by coloring her hair platinum and giving up her long locks for a supershort cut.
Katy, who recently has been changing up her look by sporting a number of wigs, has committed to baby blond by going shorter with her hair, which is giving us similar vibes to Miley's choppy sides and longer top. Coincidentally, celebrity stylist Chris McMillan, the same man who cut Miley's hair, also gave Katy her new cropped look. As for the color, Katy thanked celebrity colorist and dpHue Creative Director Justin Anderson and colorist Melinda Miller-Rider for taking her typically brunette locks to the lightest level possible.
Katy documented the process on her Instagram Story, showing her dog, Butters, grabbing a hold of pieces of chopped hair and finishing with a photo of Michelle Williams, who she said she was inspired by. Take a look at the posts of the process, and try to tell us you're not amazed at how much Katy and Miley resemble one another.

This Grammar Quiz Will Make You Feel Like a Genius - Until You Realize It's So Wrong
If you're looking to feel good about yourself, take this grammar quiz that's currently everywhere on Facebook. The Playbuzz quiz includes 25 questions "testing" your grammar skills. However, there's one glaring problem: the quiz will give you a passing score even if you answer plenty of the questions wrong.
The quiz, called "Can You Get a 25/25 on This Advanced Grammar Test?," was posted on Feb. 19 by Xander Maxwell. In it, you're given a question and need to choose the proper grammar to use. But if you answer most of the questions right, you'll be given a 25/25. Take it for yourself below.
Did you score a perfect score? You might be totally right - or you're just lucky enough to have answered a certain number of questions right. The quiz was posted to the Facebook page Teacher Problems, where people are congratulating themselves on getting a perfect score and feeling so smart. POPSUGAR's own copy chief took the quiz herself and figured out the trick to it: if you answer completely wrong or mostly wrong, you'll fail the rest. If you answer completely right or mostly right, you'll pass the quiz with a score of 25/25.
Infuriating? Yes. But if it gets people thinking about grammar, we're kinda into it.

10 of This Year's Oscar Winners You Can Watch Right Now
Listen, we all fall behind here and there. Whether or not you tuned in to all the madness at the Oscars on Sunday night, we recognize that it's pretty difficult to watch every single nominee before the big night. Now that we have a fresh list of winners, it's time to get cracking. Are there any films you want to see in the wake of the ceremony? We've compiled a list of feature-length movies, documentaries, and shorts you can watch right now.
This Is Us Season 2: Everything We Already Know
Your weekly cryfest, This Is Us, is also one of the hottest new TV shows. So hot, in fact, that it got renewed for not one but two seasons back in January, a feat basically unheard of in network TV. And the only thing sadder than the plot twists of this show is the fact that we only have a couple more weeks (!) of new episodes before the hiatus. Lucky for us, we already have a bit of info about what we can expect next Fall.
There Are More Family Dynamics to Explore
Like previous beloved family drama before it, Parenthood (which ran for six seasons), there are nearly endless stories you can tell about a family. Obviously we'll see more Pearson family dynamics explored in season two, and star Justin Hartley intimated to us that the show might explore Randall and Rebecca's relationship more in season two.
The Episode Count
There will be 18 episodes of season two, and the same number for season three. Creator Dan Fogelman said that the seasons will also be split into two arcs before and after the holidays, like season one.
William Will Still Be Part of the Show
In one of the saddest moments of a very sad season, William succumbs to his illness. That would seem like it would close the door on cast member Ron Cephas Jones being on the show anymore, but it didn't. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly right after William's death episode, Jones said that he would be back in season two in some way. He compared his resurfacing to the fact that Jack is dead in present day, but Milo Ventimiglia is a series regular. "I do know that he's going to carry over into season two in some way, just as well as Jack was in all of season one." He added that "there's a chunk of his life that we haven't explored" and that he's "very excited" about all the possibilities.
William's Death Will Inform Randall's Season 2 Storyline
After the episode about William's death aired, creator Fogelman told Entertainment Weekly that Randall's grief will be a big part of the next season. Fogelman said that Randall will ponder "'How do I honor his legacy? What do I do with what just happened in this year I've just spent with this man so that I just don't go back to the same old existence?' And he starts making a bunch of choices and decisions that will affect us going into season 2."
The This Is Us season finale airs March 14.

The Meaning Behind Chance the Rapper's Signature "3" Caps
Image Source: Getty / Tim Mosenfelder
Chance the Rapper's rise to fame has been exciting and inspiring to watch; in 2016, the 23-year-old Chicago native released Coloring Book, his third independent mixtape, which was streamed 57.3 million times on Apple Music in its first week. Just last month, Chance also took home three Grammy awards for best new artist, best rap album, and best rap performance. His time in the spotlight has brought about lots of interest in his life as well as a major question about his style. In addition to rocking skinny overalls and pastel-colored suits, Chance has become known for a signature accessory: baseball caps emblazoned with the number three. So, what's the meaning behind them?
Image Source: Getty / Michael Kovac
Chance has been vocal about his love for baseball caps, saying, "I used to always rock a cap when I was in high school and get them taken away. After they gave back a few caps to other kids, they would just give me the box because the rest were all my hats." When asked why he's been rocking the number three on his head, the answer was pretty simple. "I just thought that that made the most sense because it was [my] third project," he told GQ, adding, "Since then, I've rationalized it to myself that it stands for the third mixtape, the Holy Trinity, and the three-pronged family of myself, my daughter, and my girl."
In 2011, Chance recorded his first mixtape, 10 Day, while serving a ten-day suspension from Jones College Prep High School in Chicago. He released his second offering, Acid Rap, in April 2013 and caught the attention of label execs, music critics, and the BET Hip Hop Awards, where it was nominated for best mixtape. His third project, the soulful, celebratory Coloring Book, dropped in May 2016 to widespread acclaim - and Chance's star (and accessory) has been steadily on the rise ever since.
Now you know! And now you can buy your own "3" cap to wear while bouncing around to "No Problem."

This Is the Grocery Store That Americans Love More Than Trader Joe's
America has a new favorite grocery store that beat out Trader Joe's, and it's expanding to even more locations. According to Business Insider, Wegmans scored the highest in customer satisfaction in an annual survey by Market Force Information. That means Wegmans beat out both Publix and Trader Joe's, which came in second and third, respectively. "This is the first time in four years that Trader Joe's did not rank first," according to the survey results. Wegmans is based in upstate New York and has 90 total locations, all on the East Coast and mostly in New York and New Jersey. The next lucky state on the list is North Carolina, where there will reportedly be "multiple sites in the Raleigh-Durham area."
Although much of the country has never visited a Wegmans because of its limited locations, the shoppers who do get to go have created a loyal following that contributed to it snagging the No. 1 spot. One of the reasons people claim Wegmans is the best grocery store is the value: you get a whole lot for what you pay for. The store-brand staples like olive oil and pasta imported from Italy can't be beat, and the bakery's pastries and cakes are birthday-party worthy. Another reason to shop there is the sheer size: you could easily get lost for hours, and you wouldn't even mind. Here's to hoping that the level of customer satisfaction contributes to even more expansion across the US so that everyone can get a taste of the Wegmans experience.

This Puzzle Is Like Where’s Waldo? but So Much Harder
For some people, puzzles are a great way to distract their mind and zone out for a bit. For others like ourselves, they're a great reminder that nothing will drive you crazier than trying to find or solve something that's supposedly easy. Whichever type of person you are, we bring you a puzzle that's making the internet question its sanity.
The quiz, which was originally published on Jan. 4, 2016, shows a cute illustration of a bunch of pigs in a field. The catch? Try to spot the four-leaf clover among all the pigs. Try your best below. To see the answer, just click on the photo.
The illustration was created by Hungarian-based artist Gergely Dudás, or Dudolf, who regularly posts fun puzzles like these on his Facebook page. When Dudolf originally posted this image on his Facebook page, it received more than 9,000 reactions, 1,000 comments, and 4,000 shares. However, a recent Imgur post is bringing attention to this puzzle (and others) again.
Hopefully that didn't drive you too crazy!

8 Things You Don't Know About Aldi, Straight From an Insider Employee
We reached out to an Aldi spokeswoman, Liz Ruggles, to find out the answers to our burning questions. How is it possible that everything is so cheap?! Turns out, there's a good reason for that and for the mandatory quarter per cart . . . oh, and for the self-bagging, too. Curious about the behind the scenes of one of the most budget-friendly grocery stores in America, one that attracts 32 million customers each month? Read ahead to get the scoop.
There's a reason prices are so low.
"We're obsessed with value, and by taking a simple approach to grocery shopping, we're able to keep our costs down. We don't have hidden expenses because we choose to save shoppers money rather than have nonessential grocery store services like in-store banking, pharmacies, and check cashing. We also skip the fancy shelving and keep our products right in their display boxes, which saves us (and our shoppers) time and money. We are dedicated to reducing our impact on the environment. So we ask our shoppers to bring their own reusable grocery bags or buy a few at checkout to use for all their trips to Aldi. At our stores, shoppers also pack their own groceries to keep our checkout lines moving."
There's a strategy behind the mandatory purchase of a cart for a quarter.
"Shoppers deposit a quarter to use a cart at our stores, and when they return the cart to the corral, they get their quarter back. This saves everyone money because our staff can focus on serving shoppers inside the store instead of collecting the carts from outside of the store. For many people, this becomes an opportunity to pay it forward. Our shoppers will often just pass their cart onto the next shopper, instead of returning it to the corral."
Aldi has in-house test kitchen chefs.
"We have in-house taste testers, aka our Aldi Test Kitchen Chefs. Our chefs hit pause on developing recipes at least twice a year to taste the quality of our products before they hit the shelves - every single Aldi product. They want to make sure our brands are as good, if not better, than the national brands."
You can return any Aldi-exclusive product for a full refund.
"We're so confident in the quality of our products that we offer a double guarantee, which means if for any reason customers don't like an Aldi-exclusive brand product, we'll give them their money back and replace the item."
Aldi donates expired foods.
"Each of our divisions has the option to contribute to local charities, donate product to causes in their areas, and encourage employees to volunteer with local community organizations. In 2015, we also grew our partnership with Feeding America to make it easier for our stores to donate expired or lightly damaged product to food banks in our communities."
The best way to save money is to buy Aldi-exclusive brands.
"Smart shoppers have found that switching from national brands to Aldi-exclusive brands can save them up to 50 percent on their grocery bill. We also have Aldi Finds - these premium food and household products are only in stores for a limited time. Product variety depends on the season, and there's usually a theme for the week's Finds. For example, starting Dec. 7, we have some great gift options."
Fresh produce is among the bestselling products.
"In 2015, our top selling products included staple items such as eggs, milk, and butter, as well as our fresh produce items such as strawberries, bananas, grapes, and oranges. Additionally, with our Never Any! product line, we offer fresh meat that never contains added antibiotics, hormones, or animal byproducts."
There's no MSG, artificial coloring, or hydrogenated oil in Aldi's products.
"Aldi got rid of added MSG, certified synthetic colors, and partially hydrogenated oils from all of our exclusive brand food products. And more than 90 percent of the products on our shelves are under our exclusive brands."

Get Out Isn't the Only Place You've Seen Actor Lakeith Stanfield
If you're a scary-movie fan, chances are you're already (or soon to be) obsessed with Get Out. Directed by comedian Jordan Peele, it's not your average horror film. It's a terrifying, complex, and genre-bending debut for Peele and features stellar performances from all of its leads, including Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, and Bradley Whitford. One of the more minor but incredibly important characters falls on the shoulders of Lakeith Stanfield. The 25-year-old actor and rapper plays Andrew "Logan" King, a young black man (pictured above, left) who gets kidnapped within the film's first few minutes and pops up later at a party hosted by the parents of Rose (Williams), who brought her black boyfriend (Kaluuya) home for the first time. Stanfield's performance will not only leave you deeply unsettled but also probably wondering where you've seen him before.
Most recently, Stanfield appeared in the first season of Donald Glover's popular FX series Atlanta as stoned scene-stealer Darius. It seems like Stanfield has a habit of stealing scenes no matter what he's doing, though. In 2013, he made his feature-film debut in Short Term 12 (which earned him a nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards), and he later impressed everyone with his spot-on portrayal of Snoop Dogg in Straight Outta Compton and an inspiring role in Selma as Jimmie Lee Jackson. In December, he crashed the stage at the Critics' Choice Awards when Silicon Valley took home the best comedy series trophy instead of Atlanta, instantly launching him to award show infamy. You'll have to wait a few months before he stars in Izzy Gets the F*ck Across Town (due out later this year), so if you're jonesing for more Stanfield in your life, you'll just have to go see Get Out again.
Emily Ratajkowski Has Her Eyes Set on 1 Very Specific Item For Spring
Emily Ratajkowski's known for her sexy bikini 'grams, but don't be fooled; her fashion savvy goes beyond swimsuits. We caught up with the actress at an H&M event in NYC, where she was on hand to chat about the brand's first see now, buy now collection.
"It's amazing to see something you like and get it right there," Emily said.
As if to drive home the point, the star was dressed in pieces from H&M Studio's Spring '17 line, which had only debuted hours before in Paris. Wearing a silky, sheer tank and cotton trousers with a ruffled hem, Emily basically sold us on her entire outfit (I immediately purchased the same top). And with only five minutes to chat, I knew she would have plenty to say about style and shopping, so read on for some helpful tips.

4 Tips For 6-Pack Success From the Barefoot Blonde Blogger
Meet Amber Fillerup Clark. If you aren't one of the 1.3 million people who follow her on Instagram, you may not be as familiar with her famous abs and braids. But this mom of two hasn't always had the easiest time with exercise - in fact, her latest pregnancy was really hard on her midsection.
"After I had my second baby, I was so weak that I couldn't even do a single sit-up!" she told POPSUGAR. "My ab muscles had separated a lot with that second pregnancy and I knew I would have to work really hard on getting my core back." It's safe to say she definitely got that core back - and then some. What's her secret? There are actually four big factors that helped her get strong, and you can totally implement them yourself.
BBG Workouts
Amber told us that after she had her second child, she "waited a few months to start working out and then slowly eased into working out, starting with working out at home!" From there, she decided to take her health and fitness to the next level with a personal trainer, but she didn't want to lose momentum when she and her family moved to Hawaii - that's when she really fell in love with the BBG program. "When we got to Hawaii I started doing the Kayla's [Itsines] BBG program so I could maintain what my trainer helped me get to. The BBG workouts are great because I can do them at home if I can't get to the gym that day, and you can make them as hard as you want them to be."
A Solid Support System
She shared that this is actually her second time trying the program, as the first time she said she "kind of slowly phased out and didn't stick with it." The difference this time around? Her family. "This time it has helped me a lot to have my sisters as a support system. We all started it the same day and us four text our group chat once we did the work out that day. It holds me accountable knowing I will have to text them and let me know if I did it or not!"
Abs, Times 5
"One other tip is that I do an ab work out at least five times a week, even if it isn't a part of the BBG workout that day," so no matter what her schedule is, every day is ab day. And we can tell just by looking at her! "I have worked so hard to get my core at a good place, and I like to maintain it by doing at least 100 reps of any given ab workout each day. Sometimes its just when my husband and I are watching Netflix!" Pro tip: Netflix and reps > Netflix and chill.
Healthy Staples
You all know that "abs are made in the kitchen," and Amber is no exception to this. What's always in Amber's fridge? Staples for her favorite fresh and healthy meals, like wraps and smoothies bowls. "Fruit for acai bowls, turkey and sprouts for wraps, and ready-to-go salads."

Everything That's Happened Since the Shocking Best Picture Mistake at the Oscars
The 89th Academy Awards seemed to be going pretty smoothly (for the most part) on Sunday, until the final Oscar statue of the night was supposed to be handed out for best picture. Bonnie and Clyde costars Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway stepped on stage to present the big award, and as soon as Beatty opened the envelope and saw the name inside ("Emma Stone, La La Land"), it was clear that he was confused about something and looked at Dunaway for help. Annoyed that he wasn't announcing the winner, she took it upon herself to do it for him, telling the audience La La Land had won. The musical's production team took the stage and began their acceptance speeches, before La La Land producer Jordan Horowitz informed everyone that there had been a mistake with the envelopes; Moonlight was the true winner.
Since that shocking moment, no one has been able to stop talking about the mistake, which has resulted in major repercussions for the two people at the heart of the drama: Brian Cullinan and Martha Ruiz, two accountants for the PricewaterhouseCoopers firm, which has handled tallying up and protecting the top-secret list of winners for decades. PwC dispatches two of its trusted accountants to the big show each year, where they stand in opposite stage wings and are responsible for handing each set of presenters the appropriate winners envelopes before they walk out to the microphone. Let's review how this mistake even happened and what's gone down since.
- Feb. 26: The best picture nominees get mixed up. After Beatty and Dunaway crowned the wrong winner, it took Cullinan a solid minute and a half to inform them and the La La Land production team of the mistake (by which point they'd made two and a half acceptance speeches). That's when Horowitz stepped up to the mic to clear things up and call everyone involved with Moonlight to the stage.
- Feb. 26: PwC releases a statement apologizing for the snafu. A few hours after the original gaffe, PwC released an apologetic statement about what happened, saying that it was "investigating how this could have happened" and appreciated "the grace with which the nominees, the Academy, ABC, and Jimmy Kimmel handled the situation."
- Feb. 27: PwC's Tim Ryan further elaborates on the mistake and definitely blames Cullinan. The US chairman and senior partner chalked it up to "a human error" and called out Cullinan's role in the whole thing. "What happened was, our partner on the left side of the stage, Brian Cullinan, he handed the wrong envelope to Warren Beatty. And then the second we realized that, we notified the appropriate parties and corrected the mistake," he explained. "It was a little chaotic and just took time to get out on stage and let people know that the mistake was made."
- Feb. 27: Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs shares her shocked reaction. In a brief chat with The New Yorker, she said her first reaction to the flub was "horror." "I just thought, What? What? I looked out and I saw a member of Pricewaterhouse coming on the stage, and I was, like, Oh, no, what - what's happening? What what WHAT? What could possibly . . . ? And then I just thought, Oh, my God, how does this happen? How. Does. This. Happen. . . . And it was such a wonderful show."
- Feb. 27: Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel explains the scandal on his show. During his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the following night, he attempted to explain the drama, saying that things were going well before "it turned into one of those Maury Povich paternity test shows." He also joked that "it was the weirdest TV finale since Lost."
- Feb. 28: PwC releases yet another apology over the best picture mistake. The accounting firm said it takes full responsibility for the error and explained exactly how the mistake occurred. "PwC partner Brian Cullinan mistakenly handed the back-up envelope for Actress in a Leading Role instead of the envelope for Best Picture to presenters Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway," the firm said. "Once the error occurred, protocols for correcting it were not followed through quickly enough by Mr. Cullinan or his partner."
- Feb. 28: Warren Beatty makes an official statement. Many wrongly blamed Beatty for the mix-up since he was the one holding the actual envelope, which led him to make a statement to The Associated Press on the Tuesday after the Oscars: "I feel it would be more appropriate for the president of the Academy, Cheryl Boone Isaacs, to publicly clarify what happened as soon as possible."
- March 1: Photos show Cullinan was on his phone and tweeting backstage right before handing Beatty the wrong envelope. Variety surfaced a handful of photos that seemed to disprove PwC's official explanation that he'd picked up the wrong envelope from a "backup pile." The pictures clearly show that not only was Cullinan on his phone (he was tweeting backstage photos of the winners but quickly deleted them after the best picture mistake), but he's also seen holding two red envelopes backstage with Beatty and best actor winner Casey Affleck, who'd just walked backstage after his win. This means that Cullinan was holding both the best actress envelope (which he accidentally handed to Beatty) and the best picture envelope (both were the night's final awards).
- March 1: The Academy severs ties with Cullinan and Ruiz. Although the two accountants will retain their jobs at PwC, Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs has barred them from handing out envelopes at any future shows and said the Academy would be "reviewing its ties to PwC." Cullinan was the one to give Beatty the wrong envelope, so his punishment makes sense, but it's still unclear what Ruiz's mistake was, exactly.
- March 1: Rumors fly that Cullinan's social media use was originally approved. A source informed TMZ that not only was Cullinan's heavy use of social media throughout the night approved, but it was also encouraged.
- March 2: Bodyguards are hired for Cullinan and Ruiz. PwC was forced to hire a security service to ensure the protection of Cullinan and Ruiz due to the groups of people gathering outside of their respective homes (their addresses were shared on social media) and the serious death threats they and their families have received. "This isn't something we typically deal with," a representative from the firm said. "But the firm felt it was necessary based on the number of people outside their homes."
This Game-Changing Skin Care Brand Released a Setting Spray to Lock In Your Glow
Prepare yourself, because the brand behind some of the internet's most buzzed-about face masks just dropped a new launch - and it's probably not what you think. From charcoal face masks like the SuperMud Clearing Treatment ($69) to the peel-off mask that just got a Sonic Blue upgrade, GlamGlow continues to launch on-trend skin savers. Next up: a product that dips its toe in the makeup category, the GlowGetter Makeup Setting Spray ($32). Still, the formula offers skin-care benefits via caffeine to wake up dull cells and antioxidant-rich green, white, and red teas.
When I tested the product, it left me feeling like I was surrounded by a cotton candy halo. I first gave this a try after work and it instantly refreshed my skin and kept my look locked in for the rest of the evening, including a grocery run and trip to the gym. A quick mist at my desk after the next day's lunch break also left my makeup looking as fresh as it did when I walked out my apartment door.
But what really sets this spray apart is the sweet scent. It's been described as creamsicle-like (or the smell of Fun Dip candy, according to my boss), so those sensitive to scented products may want to stick with their go-to. While the smell doesn't linger, it's quite potent at first spray and loosely resembles a body mist.
Both the full-size and travel version ($16) are now available at Sephora and on the brand's website, so grab your wallet and say hello to the newest member of your setting-spray fam.
Gigi Hadid Is About to Make the Most Unlikely Leggings a Trend

The skinnies in question - Gigi's latest pair from Unravel Project, complete with lace-up detail - are not just shiny, but electrifying. And it seems, according to the model pack, the best way to style them is with a simple top, be it a tee, a cashmere jumper, or a vintage Gucci hoodie à la Kendall Jenner. Read on for a look at the flashy, skintight pants of the season, and add a pair to your wardrobe in whichever metallic shade you like.
The New Meme That Will Literally Leave You Asking the Question "What in Tarnation?"
What started as a simple post on Tumblr is now a glorious meme on the rise. In 2016, a Tumblr user made a joke about the Farmers Only dating app and used the colloquial phrase, "What in tarnation?" Then, in early January, another Tumblr user shared a meme of a dog wearing a cowboy hat with the same caption. Understandably, people found it to be pretty funny and the post ended up getting thousands of shares.
Now, people have applied the same caption to anything vaguely country or cowboy hat related. While the meme is especially effective when it involves household pets - as most memes are - it's since been taken to ridiculous lengths. Check out some examples ahead to find out what in tarnation we're talking about.
26 Crazy and Delicious Casserole Recipes That Are Definitely Not Your Grandma's

This Fun Easter Craft Is Perfect For the Whole Family
The following post was originally featured on The Real Thing With the Coake Family and was written by blogger KC Coake, who is part of POPSUGAR Select.
I'm going to guess that you are aware that Easter comes a bit early this year. I'm in the process of changing out my decor from Valentine's Day to Spring/Easter . . . and by being in the process, I mean my husband got the boxes out of the attic and they are sitting around waiting for me. Anyway, my girls and I had some fun with some Easter crafts for kids a week or so ago and I'm excited to share our fun ideas with you today.
Aren't these just the cutest? I've been having fun asking my girls about my crafty ideas and finding out if they are something they would like to do together. We had so much fun making the ornaments together at Christmas that I wanted to do something like that for Easter.
We always have fun dyeing Easter eggs together and usually want more eggs even though we dye about three dozen. That was how fun making the ornaments at Christmas turned out to be, so I looked on Amazon and found some papier-maché eggs for us to decorate. I ordered them back in January, planning ahead. Yay for me! What is funny is that I'm seeing papier-maché and wooden eggs everywhere now. I don't remember seeing this many in years past, but maybe I just wasn't looking for them . . . or maybe I'm onto genius idea that others had as well. Anyway, you can order them from Amazon or check Target's dollar spot because I saw some there and in their Easter section.
5 Exciting Details About Netflix's New Serial Killer Thriller, Mindhunter
If you were to mix the dark, menacing vibes of House of Cards with FBI procedural Criminal Minds, your result might be something similar to Netflix's latest original show, Mindhunter. HOC executive producer David Fincher is heading up the show, which is based on the 1995 book by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit. From the major players who have signed on to the series to when you'll officially be able to start obsessing over it (spoiler: we've got a ways to go), check out everything we know about Mindhunter below.
The Story
Although the Mind Hunter book follows the accounts of real life Special Agent John Douglas over the course of his twenty-five year career, the TV version of Mindhunter will focus on fictional FBI agents. Set in 1979, season one follows FBI Agents Bill Tench (Holt McCallanay) and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) as they interview convicted serial killers in order to help them solve current murders.
The Cast
Glee and Looking alum Groff will play one of the show's leads, FBI agent Holden Ford, opposite Sully actor McCallanay as Holden's superior. Rounding out the cast is Fringe's Anna Torv, The Americans actor Cotter Smith, and Unless star Hannah Gross.
The Production Team
If you were hoping the creative forces behind Mindhunter had resumés packed with dark and twisted projects, you're in luck. Episode directors include creator Fincher (who's responsible for films like Gone Girl and Zodiac, FYI), as well as Andrew Douglas (The Amityville Horror) and Asif Kapadia (Amy). Charlize Theron is also on board as an executive producer, making this her second show at the streaming giant behind Girlboss.
The Trailer
As an ominous, bloody inkblot bleeds out across the screen, short clips and random voice overs from the show cut in (ex: Groff saying, "You want truffles? You gotta get in the dirt with the pigs").
The Premiere Date
Prepare to get majorly creeped out when the show hits Netflix in October 2017.

The Embarrassing Side Effect of Peeps Oreos
Dear people of the internet,
We're genuinely sorry for what we're about to report. We don't WANT to cover this, but so many have discussed this issue that it must be addressed.
Peeps Oreos, pictured above, are seemingly innocent. Artificial, yes, but pretty tasty - we gave them a fair review! But some people are claiming there's an unpleasant (and rather embarrassing) side effect: Peeps Oreos are turning their poop pink.
I KNOW.
So gross, and how does that even happen? Well, for starters, let's discuss another claim people are making: that the Oreos turn your saliva pink, too. As people who have in fact eaten a couple of the cookies, we can vouch for this. Eating the bright-pink frosting does indeed coat your tongue in a vibrant pink hue. Now, to achieve pink poop, you'd have to eat nearly an entire package, right? It seems the people whose bowel experiences have turned to the dark (pink) side did actually eat a whole package.
My roommate ate a whole pack of oreo Peeps and left a pink stain in the toilet.
- ElleLeven (@Barbeydahl) February 23, 2017
Guys. I ate a whole package of Peep Oreos today...and my poop is pink.
- Zach Moree (@zach_moree) March 1, 2017
Consider yourself warned. Eat Peeps Oreos at your own risk, and if you can't stop at just two Oreos, may we suggest turning to regular Oreos instead?
Sincerely,
A fellow Oreo enthusiast looking out for your health
This Video May Prove Gordon Ramsay Is Actually the Original Salt Bae
The Salt Bae meme has been such an explosion that the Turkish chef is opening a restaurant in NYC. However, one Redditor claims Gordon Ramsay is the original Salt Bae and this video with Conan (from 2011) proves it. Chef Ramsay uses the iconic technique that sort of resembles throwing a basketball to which Conan brilliantly exaggerates. The truth is, almost every cook is taught to season from afar (at least a few feet) so the salt granules will evenly disperse on the food. So maybe, the OG Salt Bae is actually Escoffier?
Does This Rare Space Phenomenon Remind You of Anything in Nature?
In September 2016, the Hubble Space Telescope captured a gorgeous planetary nebula that had an uncanny resemblance to the shape of a butterfly. As it turns out, however, the formation isn't as delicate as a butterfly. In actuality, it's a massive "cauldron" of gas traveling at an insane speed.
According to the press release, the nebula resulted from a dying star. After its death, it became enveloped in gas and created those two clouds of glowing ultraviolet radiation. As for the unique butterfly shape, it's believed that the gas was ejected in a perpendicular manner at such a high speed that it formed those "wings."
Though the stunning image isn't entirely new, it's currently trending thanks in part to a Reddit post that slightly altered the shot. In a few hours, that post amassed hundreds of comments on the platform. Some users, however, noted that they liked the original Hubble shot even more!
Watch This Student Beat the World Record For Most Finger Snaps in 1 Minute
A Japanese college student just beat the Guinness World Record for most finger snaps in one minute. In a mesmerizing video, Satoyuki Fujimura is able to snap his fingers a whopping 296 times, beating the previous record of 278 times.
Satoyuki took the stage of a local show, Tantei! Knight Scoop, to perform his quirky and record-breaking talent. In the video, he closes his eyes and moves his fingers at such an insanely fast speed, so much so that his hand appears blurry pretty much for the entirety of that minute. According to Guinness World Records, Satoyuki's mother taught him the skill when he was a teenager.
Tyler Florence's Hack Will Forever Change the Way You Make Mashed Potatoes
Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Nicole Perry
Food Network chef Tyler Florence shared his mashed potatoes recipe with us, and I immediately had to try it. Traditionally, potatoes are cooked in water before being mashed together with butter and cream (or milk). However, Tyler suggests cooking the potatoes in the cream itself, so no potato-y flavor is lost. He explains, "Potatoes have a really delicate, beautiful minerality to their flavor profile, and when you cook potatoes in water and you pour that water down the drain, you've extracted all the flavor of the potato. So what I do with mashed potatoes - because you finish them with cream and butter anyway, right? - is I'll take that same cream and butter and add that to the potatoes and cook the potatoes in cream and butter." Would that actually work? Would it actually taste good? I had to find out.
Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Anna Monette Roberts
As Tyler instructed, I added "cold, peeled, chopped potatoes, cream, butter, and olive oil" to a pan. He also told us, "I like garlic. I like sage and rosemary flavor combinations, and a little bit of thyme." To my pot of 3 pounds of potatoes, I added enough half and half to just barely cover the potatoes. Frankly, I was scared about using straight cream, which is why I deviated slightly from his instruction. I then added about 3 tablespoons of salted butter and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. I added a few cloves of peeled garlic and half a bunch each of sage, rosemary, and thyme. I also included a significant amount of salt (at least a teaspoon) so the potatoes could absorb some of the flavor while cooking. I covered the pot and allowed it to simmer on medium until the potatoes became fork tender, about 20 minutes. The aroma in my kitchen was unbelievable.
Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Anna Monette Roberts
Here's what Tyler told us to do next: "When the potatoes are tender, I put a bowl on the counter and a colander inside that bowl. I pour the potatoes through the colander, and the cream will collect on the bottom. Then I'll put the potatoes back into the pot and take the potato-infused garlic cream and fold that back into the potatoes, and it's the most incredible flavor profile. It's the best mashed potato you'll ever taste in your entire life." And so, I did just that. I drained the potatoes, collecting the rich liquid while discarding the herb stems. I then mashed the potatoes, adding back in the liquid until I created velvety smooth mashed potatoes with little specks of garlic and herbs. I salted and peppered to taste and served up with my lemon-garlic-parsley roast turkey and gravy. These mashed potatoes are pure heaven. I can now agree with Tyler's affirmation; they really are the best mashed potatoes I've ever tasted in my entire life. And even though I was scared it would be a huge flop, I'm never going back to any other method again.
Holy Sh*t: Rey Could Be a Palpatine in the New Star Wars Trilogy
It's been well over a year since Star Wars: The Force Awakens blasted into our galaxy, and we're still processing. While there are some lingering questions about the latest trilogy, one glaring mystery seems to stick out among the rest: who the hell are Rey's parents? While there are plenty of plausible theories, one insane internet claim out there alleges the most unexpected lineage for Rey: she could be related to Emperor Palpatine. Is Rey the granddaughter of the evil Sith Lord? We're unpacking all the most prominent evidence so you can decide for yourself.
Her Fighting Style Is Similar
Rey's first move in her lightsaber duel with Kylo Ren is a forward stab. This also happens to be the exact same first move Emperor Palpatine executes in Revenge of the Sith. It's also worth noting that these are the only two Force-sensitive individuals to use this form of attack. They also share another move: swinging the lightsaber overhead and bringing it down, sledgehammer style. It can't just be coincidence . . . can it?
Rey Seems to Be Pulled Toward the Dark Side
There are a few passing moments in The Force Awakens that indicate a darkness within Rey. It's interesting to see how much she relishes telling Kylo Ren that he'll never be as great as Darth Vader. Later during their lightsaber battle, her bloodlust almost seems uncontrollable, and there's a moment near the end where she almost delivers a final deadly blow . . . until she lets him live. Could she be teetering on the edge of the dark side? Is it possible she has the power of the Sith running through her veins?
OK, Wait, Isn't Luke Rey's Father?
While Luke has been one of the most popular picks among the candidates for Rey's parents, there's a lot of evidence to suggest that it's just not so. First and foremost, it's simply just too obvious. The Force Awakens is filled with nods to a connection between Luke and Rey. There's the fact that Luke's lightsaber "calls out" to her. Then there's all of her Force-sensitivity and Jedi mind tricks, and that loaded scene with Luke himself at the end. It's so obvious! It's so heavy-handed! It would just be way too easy.
It stretches beyond that, of course. If Rey were Luke's daughter, could we really believe Han Solo and Leia Organa knew nothing of her existence? And why would Maz Kanata imply that Rey's parents were dead? If Luke is not the father, it leaves room for someone else.
The Skywalker vs. Palpatine Phenomenon
It's worth noting that this dichotomy appears in every Star Wars trilogy. In the original trilogy, Luke Skywalker faces off against Emperor Palpatine. In the next trilogy, Anakin Skywalker, still teetering on the edge of the dark side, also fights Palpatine before he becomes the deformed Sith Lord we recognize him as. In the new trilogy, Kylo Ren is a Skywalker. His mother is Leia Organa! Wouldn't it make the most sense to have another destined face-off? A Skywalker against Rey, a Palpatine? Furthermore, it would almost add a dash of poetic impact to the new movies. With a Skywalker as a Jedi and a Palpatine as a Sith in the preexisting films, this new entry is flipping everything on its head. Kylo Ren, the Skywalker, is a Sith. And Rey, possibly a Palpatine, is on the good side . . . for now.
There's so much more to unpack: the fact that Supreme Leader Snoke and Kylo Ren are obsessed with getting their hands on Rey, the fact that Rey is skewed toward the dark side on the poster for The Force Awakens, and even Luke's apparent apprehension in that haunting final scene. If you want to dig even deeper, this video does a pretty good job of covering everything:
OK, OK, we'll take off our tinfoil hats . . . for now.

One of the best things about Kate Middleton's royal walkabouts is getting to see her interacting with the people - both children and adults seem to soak up the duchess' sweet energy and don't hesitate to greet her arrival with cheers, homemade signs, stuffed animals, and flowers. If there's one thing you can expect from a Kate Middleton appearance (besides seeing her being supercute with kids) it's that you'll get to see her accept bouquet after bouquet from her well-wishers. Most recently, while wrapping up her royal tour in Canada, Kate even got her 1-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte in on the fun, letting the little one hold and sniff a bunch of roses from a young boy.
Kate has said that the rest of her family teases her for spending "far too long chatting," during her public appearances, but it's one of the things we've come to love most about the duchess. While she never turns down a pretty bunch of blooms, we do have to wonder: what does she do with all of them? Typically, she will hand them back to staff members walking through the crowd with her, and they often end up going to churches or charitable organizations - though we wouldn't be surprised if Kate keeps some florals for herself every once in a while.
