Why Game of Thrones Season 7 Will Be All About Jon Snow and Daenerys

If you're still upset about that melting-ice-block disaster and very delayed premiere date, we have some comfort to offer. While it's true that we have months to go until season seven, there's plenty of information out there to give us a sense of what's to come. After collecting data and perusing some wild theories, it seems pretty clear that season seven will heavily focus on two main characters: Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. How do we know? Let's cover all the hints we've noticed in the past year.

1. They're Finally Going to Meet in Person

Thanks to some exhilarating set pictures that hit the web at the end of last year, we found out some pretty huge season seven news: Jon Snow and Daenerys will finally meet in person. We don't know the circumstances of this moment, but both Tyrion Lannister and Ser Davos are there. This could be one of the biggest arcs of the season. Will the two team up to take down the Lannisters? Will Dany help fight the White Walkers?!

2. The New Poster Hints at A Song of Ice and Fire

In March we finally laid eyes on the first official poster for season seven. It's pretty simple, just a sheet of ice with flames layered on top. If you're familiar with the classic A Song of Ice and Fire theory, though, you'll know it carries a pretty heavy significance. The fact that the very first poster hints at this union means it will factor heavily into season seven.

3. Jon Is Likely About to Find Out He's a Targaryen

Jon Snow knows nothing (heh heh) about his parents by the end of season six, but that's definitely about to change. After all, Bran learns that Jon's mother is Lyanna Stark through one of his time-travel visions, and there are plenty of theories for how Jon could learn the truth. Once Jon learns he's the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, it'll make him that much more connected to Daenerys and all the more likely to seek her out. And with Daenerys aiming to take the Iron Throne from Cersei Lannister, this could get pretty crazy.

4. They Both Are About to Be Major Leaders

Speaking of Dany's bid for the Iron Throne, here's another reason Jon and the Mother of Dragons will be a big part of season seven. It's clear, at this point, that Dany is already a powerful ruler. Even without her seizure of King's Landing, she has clear power over the Dothraki Army, the Unsullied, Meereen, and the Iron Islands (granted, it's just an alliance with the Greyjoys, but still). Oh, and she has dragons. Jon Snow, on the other hand, has earned his keep as King of the North. These two are arguably the most formidable rulers in Westeros. That's a big deal.

5. Other Miscellaneous Hints From the Cast

Here's how we know sh*t is really hitting the fan because of Dany: cocreator D.B. Weiss confirmed it in a recent interview. "Once she gets on those ships and crosses West, that's when the clock on the end game starts ticking," Weiss told Entertainment Weekly. "When she gets back to Westeros, it's on. Her return is the first domino."

Good thing we've all got time to prepare ourselves; Game of Thrones will return on July 16.

Everything We Already Know About Game of Thrones Season 8

The seventh season of Game of Thrones might still be months away from premiering, but we're already setting our sights on what's going to happen in season eight. A little premature? Maybe. But the good folks at HBO have graciously been dropping hint after hint about how the final season is going to shape up, so we might as well start obsessing over it all now.

Angelina Jolie Gives Her First Lecture on Women's Rights in London

Angelina Jolie can now add professor to her résumé. On Tuesday, the 41-year-old actress gave her first lecture at the London School of Economics and Political Science's Centre For Women, Peace and Security, People confirms. Her lecture focused on women's rights while discussing subjects like refugee camps and how displacement and statelessness can lead to more sexual violence and other crimes against women and girls. "Miss Jolie spoke about her experience and what has motivated her work as UNHCR special envoy and as co-founder of the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, and took questions from the class," a spokesperson for LSE told the publication.

Angelina launched the initiative with England's First Secretary of State William Hague in 2015 with a "focus on the participation of women in conflict-related processes and on enhancing accountability and ending impunity for rape and sexual violence in war." She will teach a nine-month course on the matter beginning in September at the same university.

Kylie Cosmetics Is Mailing Empty Highlighters, and Everyone's Pissed

Imagine this scenario: you rush to your mailbox one afternoon and see that your highly anticipated Kylie Cosmetics package has finally arrived, after days of incessantly tracking the delivery online. But when you rip into the box and flip open the Kylighter container, there's no shimmery makeup in sight. Sounds like a horror film plot, am I right?

Well it looks like this has actually been a reality for some unlucky Kylie Cosmetics fans. Shortly after Kylie Cosmetics finally released its collection of six shimmery highlighters, the entire stock quickly sold out online, much to the dismay of die-hard fans who weren't able to punch in their credit card info quickly enough. Apparently the cosmetics brand decided to cope with the overwhelming demand by sending empty packages to its customers.

Rightfully so, many makeup mavens were pretty darn peeved about spending $22 for a Kylighter (or a whopping $130 for the whole bundle) and receiving nothing but an empty plastic container. So they used social media to share photos of their sad, desolate packaging, along with a few words about their frustration.

Age Investigation: How Old Are the This Is Us Characters and Actors?

We always knew NBC's new emotional roller coaster, This Is Us, would be playing around with time. In fact, it was imbued in that shocking twist at the end of the very first episode: two of the show's biggest storylines would continue to unfold, decades apart. Even in more recent episodes, the flashbacks keep coming, and with all this jumping, we couldn't help but wonder about a different aspect of time. With Mandy Moore playing the same character but older and with three very different actors playing three siblings of the exact same age, we can't help but wonder: how old are the show's main players?

10 Reasons Emma Watson Is Having a Magical 2017

Emma Watson has come back into the spotlight in a big way this year, and we couldn't be more excited. After saying goodbye to her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies back in 2011, the actress starred in a few low-key films while going back to school and slowing down her schedule. But she stepped into another beloved role this year when she joined Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast as Belle. And her role as the Disney princess isn't the only way she's inspired us this year. The self-declared feminist has continuously spoken up for gender equality both in Hollywood and politics, and seeing that it's only March, 2017 is shaping up to be a great year for the star.

Look Closely or You Might Miss the Details of the Latest Eyeliner Trend

Once again, we find ourselves doting on another form of eyeliner art (because let's be real, it's like looking at tiny eye paintings!). This time it isn't cheesy pizzas, magical mermaids, or neon liner, but dotted eyeliner instead.

Sound somewhat low-key? That's because it is! But that makes it no less pretty. Makeup artists, enthusiasts, and influencers have taken to Instagram to share their many versions of the dotted liner look. Some have used black liner to add a fun twist on the classic cat-eye while others relied on white, creating a beautiful variation of the white liner look we're currently crushing on.

The best thing about this look is that it's pretty easy to re-create. If you have a heavy hand and are a little scared of liquid liner, it may be easier to create small dots with a liner pencil, as these are faint and easier to remove if you mess up; you can then dot over them with the liquid liner. But if this still scares you, you can always use a nail dotting tool. Just make sure there isn't any nail polish residue left over!

Scroll on for more inspiration, then shop for the perfect liner to DIY your own version of this pretty eyeliner art.

The Harmful Effects of Instant Ramen Noodles

Yes, you know that instant ramen isn't good for you, but studies have confirmed just how harmful the prepackaged food can really be. A study in the Journal of Nutrition links instant noodle consumption with heart risk, particularly in women. The researchers conducted a study in South Korea, where consumption of instant noodles is the highest in the world, with more than 10,700 people ranging in age from 19 to 64. The results? "Women who consume instant noodles frequently were found to be more likely to have metabolic syndrome - the group of risk factors, including obesity and high blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar, that increase the risk of heart disease and diabetes."

The harmful effects were predominantly found in women and not men. Part of the study reads, "Women - though not men - who ate instant noodles at least twice a week showed a 68 percent higher risk of metabolic syndrome," which is a syndrome that can increase the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

The high sodium content in instant noodle products is obvious, but the main culprit is the noodles themselves. In another study by Dr. Braden Kuo, director of the gastrointestinal motility laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard University, the doctor found unsettling results after testing digestion of the noodles. He used a tiny camera to study the breakdown of instant ramen noodles in the stomach and found out just how difficult it is for your body to digest the preservative-filled noodles. Warning: the photos are graphic. A preservative called TBHQ, which is found in many processed foods including Reese's and Chicken McNuggets, extends shelf life of fatty foods and makes them harder to digest. It's one of the many ingredients in Maruchan Chicken Ramen.

If you're hopelessly devoted to instant ramen (and it's a budget-friendly staple in your life), all hope is not lost. Dr. Frank B. Hu, a professor of nutrition and epidemiology at Harvard, told The New York Times, "Once or twice a month is not a problem, but a few times a week really is."

Moral of the story: eating college-friendly instant ramen is OK, but moderation is key.

Who Voiced the Original Belle in Beauty and the Beast?

Disney's Beauty and the Beast is a tale as old as time, and soon it will reach a whole new generation of audiences with its live-action adaptation. While we can't wait to see Dan Stevens in beast form, we are most looking forward to seeing Emma Watson take on the iconic role of Belle. Even though we know she will do the character justice, she certainly has some big shoes to fill. The original character was a huge inspiration for young girls - and continues to be more than 25 years later.

So, who was the original Belle? That would be Paige O'Hara (pictured below). The self-proclaimed Disney enthusiast auditioned for the role when she was 30-years-old. After only the second audition, she just knew it was her part. Not only did she lend her voice for the character, but she also played a part in Belle's physical appearance as the animators mimicked her real-life expressions.

Following the release of the original animated film, O'Hara reprised her role in two direct-to-video follow-ups, Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas and Belle's Magical World. Even though she has since put her Belle days behind her, she certainly approves of Watson's iteration of the character. POPSUGAR had the chance to talk with O'Hara last year and she has nothing but kind words to say about her successor, adding that she thinks she was the "perfect casting."

Kendall Jenner Stole This 1 Styling Tip From Bella Hadid

When we think about what to wear on a flight, we think sweatpants and a hoodie, but when you're a supermodel, even the airport tarmac is your runway. Case in point: Kendall Jenner. Kendall was spotted walking out of LAX wearing a camel trench coat, a plain white tee tucked into ripped black jeans, and black stiletto boots. While her outfit was was on point (nothing new there), it was her white newsboy hat that stole the show.

It seems like Kendall took this styling tip from pal Bella Hadid. We couldn't help but notice that her white hat looked similar to the one Bella designed for her Chrome's Heart collection. Don't we all get inspired by our best friends?

Have a look at Kendall's outfit along with a couple of hats you can try out for yourself!

12 Things You Can Totally Blame on Your Kids

Raising kids ain't easy. From the first bout of morning sickness, parenting will test your limits in countless ways. But everyone knows that kids have a tendency to throw a wrench in things sometimes, and therefore, you can use that to your advantage - because children, and all the issues that can come along with them, make the ultimate excuse for just about everything. And nobody asks any questions.

It comes in handy for situations like . . .

  1. Gaining that extra 15 pounds. My kids are soooo wasteful. How can I just throw out all those half-eaten chicken nuggets?! (Also, I raid their candy haul at every holiday. And eat ice cream after they go to bed.)
  2. Lateness. Oh my gosh! Sorry I'm so behind, but I swear my kids move like they're trying to cross a peanut butter swamp wearing concrete boots. (It has nothing at all to do with the fact that I misplaced my keys and spilled coffee down my shirt.)
  3. Leaving early. As much as we would adore staying at your event for the entire duration, we need to get home in time for the afternoon nap. (Or doctor's appointment, or dance class, or anything else that will get us out of this thing I didn't want to come to in the first place.)
  4. Not buying anything at friends' parties. Gosh, I wish I could buy those overpriced clothes/body wraps/cooking utensils/weird supplements, but I just had to drop an obscene amount of cash on orthodontics and a basketball uniform. (I'll just look for similar stuff on Amazon. Big props for the yummy hors d'oeuvres, though!)
  5. Farts. Oh my! Somebody has a little gas today! (And that somebody happens to be me, but as long as this kid is in diapers, no one will ever know that.)
  6. Having a dirty house. Well, you know what they say: "Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling snow while it's still snowing." (That, and it's really hard to finish binge-watching the first season of This Is Us while you're cleaning.)
  7. Skipping out on an event. We'd love to come to your kid's birthday party, but my son was feeling a little warm earlier so I think I'd better keep him home. (Technically that's not a lie; I just won't mention that he only "felt a little warm" because he was wearing a sweatshirt he didn't need and ran around the living room 40 times.)
  8. Purchasing an excessive amount of cookies/candy. Sure, we'll buy a case of those Girl Scout cookies and a dozen of those huge candy bars! It's for a fundraiser, and we've got to support our kids! (And I'm going to need an emergency snack stash to hide in the closet with when they're driving me bonkers.)
  9. Playing with toys/watching kids' movies. Oh, my kids will just love this mega ultimate action playset! (I really want to play with it because it's super cool, but I'd look weird buying it for myself.)
  10. Exhaustion. Whew, these kids are just so tiring. Between rushing around to get things done after they go to bed, and getting up in the night and early in the morning with them, and taking care of all the things they need me to do, I just never feel rested. (Plus I may or may not scroll through my Facebook and Pinterest and Instagram feeds until four-hours-of-sleep o'clock.)
  11. Looking like complete and utter crap. I'm a mom. I'm tired. I'm harried. I don't have time to do my hair and makeup and have a fully styled, trendy outfit every day. (But seriously, these yoga pants are really comfy and I'm not feeling the whole "putting on a bra" thing at the moment, let alone any of the extras.)
  12. Slacking at . . . well, just about everything. Why haven't I started that garden yet? Oh, the kids have taken over that spot in the yard - they play out there all the time. Why did I skip the gym again? Oh, you know, the kids really needed my help with their homework. Why is the laundry still sitting in the basket three days after I removed it from the dryer? Because the kids just keep me so darn busy. (And, you know, other far less legitimate reasons. Such as "I didn't feel like it, yesterday or today or ever.")

OK, so my personal shortcomings may not exactly be my children's fault. But the way I see it, they do often throw the proverbial wrench into my best-laid plans, so I figure they owe me a couple of favors. And if that means, say, passing off my farts as theirs . . . it's not gonna hurt anyone.

Besides, I've got to have someone to blame for my flatulence when the dog isn't around.

Will Smith Has Basically Turned Into Uncle Phil From The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

In the words of Will Smith, the world has officially flipped and turned upside down. The actor recently shared a video of himself bungee jumping, and aside from having the time of his life, he basically channeled his former The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air costar James Avery (Uncle Phil). No, seriously. From the silver beard to the bald head, we can't get over how much he looks like the late actor, who sadly passed away in 2013, in this screenshot from his video. Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" has spawned some pretty crazy dance routines already (how could it not?!), but a young boy from the Philippines might have just outdone them all. Balang, an 8-year-old internet sensation who's danced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show a few times, recently shared a clip of himself breaking it down to Ed's hit in a tank top, a fedora, and a smile that will have you clutching your heart for dear life. We thought nothing would ever top his "Bang Bang" choreography, but we're happy to report we were wrong.

Kate and Pippa Middleton Prove That a Tiara Won't Come Between Their Sisterly Bond

Kate Middleton's top-secret squad may be extensive, but there's no question as to who the leader is: her younger sister, Pippa. Many of us were first introduced to the 33-year-old event planner at Kate and Will's royal wedding in 2011; Pippa made headlines for her stunning appearance, and it wasn't long before the public took interest in her and Kate's sweet relationship. And in the most considerate of sisterly moves, Kate doesn't want her royal status to take away any shine from Pippa's own wedding to financier James Matthews. The couple who runs the popular YouTube channel Hellthy Junk Food decided to compete for the better Oreo taco, and let's just say that all of our cookies-and-cream dreams have come true. While it's obvious who the winner is here (sorry, JP), we're definitely going to be trying out Julia's recipe ASAP.

She starts by mixing flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, and baking powder. In a bowl for the wet ingredients, Julie adds melted butter, a quarter of a cup of milk, and an egg. She combines the wet and the dry ingredients and adds black food dye to get the shell as dark as possible to fully resemble Oreo cookies. Julia pours the ingredients onto the griddle to create the round shells.

Once the shells are ready and the cream filling has been made, Julia fills the shell with cream (while it's in the taco holder), and then places another shell on top. As we carefully clean our drool off our computer screens, Julia fills the second shell with Oreo ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate drizzle. Not only have we found a way to incorporate tacos into our dessert, but it looks like this is about to be the best dessert we've ever made (that is, if we don't eat all the ingredients mid-recipe).

Out of Heavy Cream? Try This Kitchen Hack

Picture this: potato leek soup is on the menu for dinner tonight, and you're ready to get cooking when you realize that you forgot to pick up a pint of heavy cream. Don't admit defeat; all is not lost. We have a simple culinary substitution to ensure that your dish will still turn out.

To substitute 1 cup of heavy cream, mix 3/4 cup of milk and 1/3 cup of melted and cooled butter. Many people insist that this substitution will only work with whole milk (as opposed to skim or nonfat); however, in a pinch, give it a try, and see what you end up with. (Though, if it's for an important feast, you may just want to run to the store.)

Just don't try to use this substitution for whipped cream. Instead of a lofty mountain of dairy, you'll be left with a pool of disappointment.

This Is Us: If You Like the Show, You'll Love the Soundtrack

We've fallen deeply, truly, and madly in love with This Is Us. The characters are relatable, the acting is on point, and the twists just keep coming. One of the best things about NBC's show, however, is how seamlessly it integrates music from both eras in which it takes place. The first half of season one has included great songs, and we've compiled them here for you. Fair warning that just hearing the music might make you cry, but if you're willing to take your chances, it's worth it.

The Real-Talk Advice That Will Comfort New Moms

In the hard and hazy days of early motherhood, I turned to the mom friends I could count on to be candid. I needed advice. I wanted open, upfront conversations with people who had been in my shoes, because those first weeks with a newborn were challenging in ways that are impossible to expect and difficult to explain to anyone who hasn't lived through them.

During that difficult phase of round-the-clock nursing and sporadic sleep, I became a person I hardly recognized. I cried happy tears, I cried terrified tears, and I cried oh-my-god-this-is-what-they-meant-by-TIRED tears. My heart was bursting with joy at all the new and sparkling moments my husband and I were sharing with our son, but meanwhile, symptom after symptom piled up until I was buried within a body that didn't quite feel like mine anymore.

Enter two best friends who know when real talk is necessary.

When the first friend called, my son was about 2 weeks old, and it was a particularly tough day. Reflux issues left him screaming every time he ate and it broke my heart to watch him struggle. I felt like a failure and my voice cracked the moment my friend said, "Hi! How's it going?" I told her what was happening, and in the weakest little whisper I said, "I'm scared I'm not a good mom."

I expected to hear a sympathetic click of her tongue, but instead she started laughing. "Welcome to motherhood," she said, and then she dropped the phrase I've held onto ever since: "Some days you'll feel like Superwoman, and other days you'll feel like a piece of sh*t."

"Some days you'll feel like Superwoman, and other days you'll feel like a piece of sh*t."

With those words, something within me softened; the knot in my stomach unraveled. This was one of the strongest, most capable women I've ever met on the other end of the line, and it was as if she'd let me in on the ultimate secret.

The following week, another friend came by to visit and drop off dinner. She'd had a baby of her own a year earlier, and I already owed her about a million times over for all the tips she offered throughout my pregnancy. When she sat at the foot of my bed and asked how I was doing, I wanted to seem more put-together than I felt. She has the kind, friendly sort of face that you find yourself spilling everything to, though, so the truth came tumbling out: "This is so damn hard."

"Honestly," she said, thinking back to her time with a newborn, "sometimes people would ask me what I did that day, and literally all I'd done was feed my kid."

I cracked up. Yes! Exactly! In one sentence, she captured what had been so hard for me to put into words: that I was overwhelmed. That all I wanted was for him to be OK. That I was still in so much pain, and that I worried it would never go away. That I didn't know what I was doing, not really, but I was trying my best and sometimes that was exhilarating and other times that was exhausting. That I felt more thankful than I'd ever been, and more anxious too. That as I navigated this wild, unfamiliar world of parenthood, friendships made up a big part of the base that would keep me afloat, and I was as grateful as ever for mine.

The Easiest Way to Shred Chicken

While you can always shred chicken with your hands, this tends to give you chicken chunks rather than fluffy shreds. Instead, shred the chicken with a fork. It's easier to tear the meat with a metal utensil, plus it's a cleaner, more sanitary process.

  1. Start with poached chicken that is cooled slightly but still warm. What's pictured is a skinless, boneless chicken breast, poached in chicken broth for flavor and saltiness.
  2. Use one hand or a fork to hold the chicken steady. With the other hand, use another fork to scrap and tear the chicken flesh into small, shredded pieces. When the fork becomes full of chicken shreds, use your fingers or another fork to pull the pieces off the fork and onto the plate. Repeat the process until the chicken is completely shredded.
  3. Transfer the shredded chicken to an airtight container and refrigerate for two to four days. Use the shredded chicken in casseroles, salads, tacos, curries, and sandwiches. Here are a few of our favorite uses for shredded chicken breast.

Dog Reunites With Her Owner After 2 Years and Has the Most Adorable Reaction Ever

After living and working in Slovenia for two years, Rebecca Ehalt returned home to Pennsylvania in July 2014 and shared a touching video of her reunion with the family dog. In the clip, Rebecca is greeted by the schnauzer - named Casey - who lets out a lot of high-pitched whimpers before passing out, as Rebecca describes it, "from overwhelming joy." Not only is Casey's reaction insanely adorable, but it's also totally understandable since Rebecca's two-year absence has been over a decade in dog years. Even though the video isn't exactly new, it's easy to see why it continues to go viral. Watch the sweet reunion video now.

Note to My Wife: The Kids Do Like Me More, but It's Not Your Fault

The following article was written by Ben Stahl, the husband of POPSUGAR Moms contributor Kate Stahl, with a few loving edits from his grammatically superior wife.

This past Fall, my wife wrote a story about how our kids like me more. I hope you read it because she's an awesome mom and just as good of a writer, even when she's giving me backhanded compliments and claiming that I really don't deserve our kids' status as favorite. Here's the thing: I don't, and we both know it.

Here's what I'm great at in terms of parenting our kids: providing all the money they need to live, ordering them the best pizza within a three-mile delivery radius, and letting them use their iPads whenever they want. I'm also their go-to guy in the middle of the night (thanks for the dark circles and lack of acute focus, kids!), and I'm awesome at letting them destroy a room without really noticing until it's too late, or at least that's what my wife tells me.

What I'm not so great at? Everything else, mostly because I don't have to be. My wife takes care of it. But let's not undercut the role I play in our family. I absolutely love our children as much as my wife does, but we made a deal when they were born: because I worked in a field where I could make a substantially higher salary than she could in hers, and because we both felt strongly about wanting one parent at home, she became the go-to parent for diaper changes, school drop-off, kid activity organization, and most of those admittedly tedious tasks that help run our home.

What I don't think she realized she was getting as a side effect of that deal was that being the more available parent - the parent who had to do, as she called it, the "dirty work" - meant that she was also going to be the less popular one.

What I don't think she realized was that being the more available parent meant that she was also going to be the less popular one.

I mean, it's counterintuitive. You make them their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and wash their clothes (with a side of nagging them to brush their teeth, wash their hands, and step away from the screens), and what do you get? Labeled as the bad guy. Like, seriously, that's what our superhero-obsessed son calls her when he's not saluting her and saying, "Yes, sir" (a new trick of his that I think she secretly kind of loves).

You see, every night, around 6 p.m., I get to make a grand entrance, I round the corner into our kitchen, and bam, it's like I'm Obama, Jagger, and the Pope all at once. My wife rarely gets to make that big "Mommy's home" reveal. For her, there are no wardrobe changes, no refractory period in which she becomes mysterious and new. She's just always there cooking, cleaning, serving, driving, consoling, and coaching everyone, including me, all the time.

I read a long time ago that infants don't distinguish between themselves and their mothers; they literally believe they are one and the same. In that sense, I'm the only option to be the favorite. They love dad because I make funny voices, give them tiger rides, and pop in and out of the day like a favorite late-show host. But Mom? She is a part of their very beings.

In reality, I don't think my wife really needs to be the favorite parent. She gets validated by our kids in a million small ways all the time. She knows they love her, even when they team up, start chanting "We hate Mommy," and begin brainstorming the ways they'd like to murder her. By the way, that's something that actually happened yesterday, apparently because she refused to buy a Target headband for my daughter, who enlisted her brother on a hate campaign. Even then, my wife knew how much our kids love her and that they didn't really want to "hold her underwater forever until she dies." Not that that craziness is nice to hear.

She also doesn't need validation about how good of a mom she is. She owns her stuff, like her persistent potty mouth and occasional meltdowns, but overall, she puts our kids first in everything she does. There's a reason they come to her first when they need something; they know she's the one that gets things done for them. She is aware of their needs in a way that just isn't possible for me.

I spend most of their waking hours away from them. I only roughly know their school schedules. I couldn't tell you what weeks my daughter is going to Summer camp or what birthday parties she has coming up in the next few weeks. I've never even met my son's preschool teachers. I often tell my wife stories about something funny one of the kids said and watch her nod, humoring me because she's heard it 100 times before, directly from the source. So maybe it's not fair that I'm their favorite, but maybe I'm also the one who needs it more. Even if it is, as she put it, "bullsh*t."
