How 1 Dad Made His Girl's Disney Dreams Come True With an Epic Surprise
As a commercial photographer, Josh Rossi has been known to go a bit over the top when capturing special memories of his 3-year-old daughter, Nellee. For Halloween, he transformed Nellee into Wonder Woman, and for Valentine's Day, this dedicated dad created an equally magical surprise.
In honor of Nellee's current obsession with Beauty and the Beast and in anticipation of the upcoming movie, Josh decided to turn her into Belle - complete with a jaw-dropping yellow gown. Josh knows that Nellee's favorite scene from the movie is when the Beast comes out and they fall in love, so he photographed real castles during a trip to Europe to use as the background for this love-filled photo shoot.
Designer Ella Dynae donated three replica dresses for the little princess, and when she first saw her gowns, Josh said that his daughter's reaction was priceless. "She kept jumping up and down and smiling at me. She's only 3 years old so she couldn't express herself verbally as much as she would like but I understood how happy she was," Josh told POPSUGAR Moms. "It was like going to Disneyland or something."
After she changed into her enchanting costumes, the pair took photos in a studio, re-creating some of the child's favorite moments from the movie, including a father-daughter dance to "Tale as Old as Time." "Acting out some of the scenes was the most precious moment for me," Josh said. "She was so happy to dance with me and I got a little emotional."
After the memorable day together, Josh got to work photoshopping the images. On Valentine's Day morning, he surprised Nellee with a stunning portrait that he felt captured their love to show his little girl just how special she is to him. "It's important for me to give her things like this first to remember the relationship we have and second because it's not really about the final gift," Josh said. "It's about spending time with her doing something we both love. She loves acting and I love photographing her in these fun scenes."
Grey's Anatomy: This Season's Finale May Be 1 of the Worst Yet
We've still got a ways to go until the 13th season of Grey's Anatomy comes to a close. Even so, time is ticking, and any fan of Grey's knows the finale episodes are always a doozy. We've got to prepare ourselves. This week, the Grey's cast participated in a panel for this year's Paleyfest, and we were lucky enough to snag them for red carpet interviews. Naturally, we had to ask about the danger that lies ahead. Here's how the cast teased the upcoming season 13 finale.
It Will Be "Explosive"
Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins on the show, had quite an interesting word to tease the final season. "There's something that's going to happen that's quite explosive. But I can't tell you who it's about." The key word is of course "explosive," but what does it mean?! Does she mean literal explosions near or inside the hospital?! Or will we see some kind of crazy emotional altercation take place?
The Episode Is One For the History Books
There's more evidence to support an actual explosion, or at least some other kind of huge disaster. "Oh my gosh," Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) exclaimed. "I think this will be a bigger ending finale than some of our previous ones. I think we gotta go big and loud and strong. We haven't filmed the last episode yet, but I have a feeling it's going to be loud." Big and loud and strong?! Something seriously devastating is probably going down.
Even the Cast Was Shocked
If there was any lingering doubt that things are going off the rails, allow Caterina Scorsone (Amelia Shepherd) to get rid of it. Scorsone teased that the episode would leave fans with "dropped jaws. Like we had at the table read. There was a lot of 'WHAT?!' Throwing scripts . . . there were a lot of expletives. So, yeah, the last couple episodes are shocking. Even for Shondaland." If you ask us, it's the "even for Shondaland" part that really gives us palpitations. Because fans of Grey's, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder know showrunner Shonda Rhimes means business.
There Will Be Some "Hot" Romance
But hey, it seems like the finale won't be all bad. Even if the hospital blows up (knock on wood), looks like we're getting another kind of heat as well. Yep, we're talking romance. Debbie Allen, who plays Catherine Avery, dropped a small hint during the actual panel: "The end of this season is hot," she said. That could go in any sort of direction, considering all the "will they/won't they" couples we have right now. We could see a hookup between April and Jackson, Amelia and Owen, and even possibly Alex and Jo!
We Let Our Baby Cry It Out, and 10 Years Later, This Is What Happened
Three months into this parenting gig, I'd had enough. Our bedtime routine with our infant son had turned into a two-hour affair that left me and my husband eating dinner at 10 p.m., me up with indigestion for another few hours, and only a few hours of shut-eye before I had to wake up for the day. I was preparing to go back to work, and no amount of concealer, corrector, or eye masks could hide the dark purple circles that had become permanent fixtures under my eyes, never mind function like a thinking adult in an office job.
I needed a solution, and I needed one quick. My own parents swore by "Ferberizing" me, and I was willing to give it a try. Ferberizing, or "crying it out," is a sleep training method popularized by Dr. Richard Ferber to teach a baby to soothe him or herself to sleep. The practice involves putting your baby to bed while still awake and leaving her there even if she cries. After a predetermined amount of time, parents can go in and soothe their child (patting her back, talking to her, etc.), without picking her up. Dr. Ferber says that after a few days, the baby learns to soothe herself and fall asleep on her own.
But when I asked for some tips and tricks from the moms in my moms group at the local park, I was greeted with blank stares and astonishment. One suggested it was a form of torture and that my baby would never trust me again. Another clenched her chest, saying she "could never!" And the one sitting next to me pointedly scooted a few inches away from me.
After that reaction, could I really do it? You don't get much closer than me and my parents, so it doesn't seem to have affected our relationship. And I really needed to get into a routine before returning to work.
So on a Wednesday night when my son was 3 months old, I bathed him, lotioned him up, fed him, read him three books, and put him in his crib in a dreamy but still technically awake state. As soon as I closed his door, he was crying. My husband said we should wait another day and try it tomorrow, but I knew that if we put it off today, we'd put it off tomorrow, and we couldn't just do this the night before I went back to work.
The first stretch of crying was painful. I couldn't believe I was letting my baby cry so much. Five minutes later, after soothing him, it appeared that all was well, until two minutes after closing his door, the same thing happened. The next stretch was 10 minutes, and we barely made it through before the timer went off and I raced into his room to begin the routine again. I didn't think we'd make it through the next stretch (15 minutes), until my phone rang. My husband's cousin was calling to check on me and see how I was doing in general. I told her we were Ferberizing and just starting our 15-minute stretch. Before I knew it, my alarm rang that it was 15 minutes. She had talked my ear off for the entire time - mindless things that she probably didn't even care about but was throwing my way to keep me occupied. And I looked at our baby monitor, he was asleep - with a big smile on his face.
I'd never say that it was easy and that we never turned back - no one told me about the torture that is sleep regression or how cutting a tooth can mess up everything! - but we certainly crossed a hurdle that day. And our sleep routine became bearable.
Ten years later, I can tell you that my son has shown no adverse affects from his Ferberization. He still likes me to sit with him when he goes to sleep but can easily do so without me. He still hugs me and treats me as his confidante, but he is also independent and strong-willed. Like recent studies show, the Ferber method is safe, when done correctly.
Years after we'd trained both my boys, a friend reminded me of this Mad About You episode that showed Paul and Jamie trying to train their baby Mabel. It captures the experience perfectly!

We had a feeling things would go this way when Sarah Drew spoke about the episode back in January, but we still have questions. After all, this one-time hook up could just be the closure they need to move on. At this year's Grey's Anatomy panel at Paleyfest, we spoke to actress Sarah Drew about what lies ahead. Will Jackson and April pick things up where they left off, or will things fizzle out all over again? Here's what we learned from Drew.
- On that game-changing episode: "It solidifies how they have been, will always be each other's 'person.' And whether that means in a romantic way or a best friendship way is yet to be seen, but I think that, you know, they know each other better than anyone else in the world. And they know how to care for each other better than anyone else in the world. So, in many ways, they need each other, and they'll always need each other, and they'll always love each other. I don't know if that means they'll wind up back together romantically, but whatever it is, it's very hopeful."
- On why their standalone episode changed everything: "It was so neat to get to see kind of a different side of April and Jackson's relationship. It was neat to be able to watch April be his rock as opposed to the other way around, which has usually been the case. Seriously, she's usually the one spinning out of control and he's usually the one pulling her back down to Earth. And this was a really neat opportunity for her to be like, 'I don't need anything from you, but I'm going to show up for you.'"
- On whose decision it is to reconcile: "I think, at this point, they both have to decide."
- On living together and having Harriet: "They're still roommates! They're still living in the same house, they're still co-parenting under the same roof, you know? So, if they wound up dating other people it could get super sticky, because, what do they do in that scenario, what do they do? and [their daughter] is still a tremendous unifying force."

Beauty and the Beast: The Sad Story Behind the Beast's Parents
Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast came out on Friday, and there are quite a few adjustments from the animated version. Aside from making Belle a more "active princess" and delivering Disney's first "exclusively gay moment," the movie also fills in some plot holes missing from the original story. Not only does it reveal how Belle's mom died, but the filmmakers also give the Beast, aka Prince Adam, a heartbreaking backstory.
The first mention we get of the Beast's family is when he accuses Belle of being untrustworthy, just like her dad. After he scares Belle with his short temper, though, Mrs. Potts gives him a knowing look and says that not everyone is like their father. From there we know that the Beast had a strained relationship with his own dad, but it isn't until later, when Belle questions the household objects about why they are under the spell, that we learn how horrible he really was.
Just like Belle, the Beast's mother passed away when he was still very young. Although the film doesn't reveal the exact cause of her illness, it does reveal that his father was very cruel to him afterward. Growing up, it seems his father was a beast of his own and ended up making his son just like him. Not only does the backstory allow us to feel sympathy for the main character, but it also shows some similarities between the Beast and Belle as they mourn the loss of their mothers.

It's Impossible to Enjoy Every Single Parenting Moment, So I'm Not Going To
Taking four kids to the grocery store isn't my idea of a good time, especially when they're tired, hungry, and/or bickering - which at least one in the group always seems to be. Then one day in the checkout lane, my impatience came to a head. Two were elbowing one another, one was begging for gum for the thousandth time, and the baby was wailing furiously. "Just. Stop," I hissed at them with widened eyes and gritted teeth, visibly irritated.
The older woman checking out ahead of me gave me a knowing smile and eyed my children wistfully. "I know it's hard sometimes," she said, "but enjoy every moment, because they grow up so fast. My four are all out of the house now and I hardly get to see them anymore."
Just like that, my anger deflated, replaced by a sudden wave of mom-guilt delivering a walloping punch to my gut. "It's true," I thought. "This is all the time I'm going to have with them. Someday they'll have separate lives and families of their own, and I'll be secondary. They'll never need me again the way they do now."
I was slightly annoyed by the reminder - life was so much easier when I was just pissed off at them - but I couldn't ignore the sentiment behind the woman's statement. I knew it was true because that wasn't the first time I've heard it straight from the mouth of someone with experience, someone who has been there. And it was confirmed every time I looked at them and caught a brief, surprising glimpse of their maturity: how big they'd gotten, how gangly their limbs were becoming, how independent they are.
Time is, indeed, slipping through my fingers like water. And because of each "enjoy every moment" reminder or article I read, I'm perpetually afraid that I'm not enjoying it enough.

I try to stop and notice the little things, like the way they smell and the way their eyelashes curl against their cheeks while they sleep. I wonder endlessly if this is enough to sustain me.
I picture myself as an old lady alone in my childless, spotless living room, staring out the window, laboring to breathe under the crushing weight of grief that too many moments went by unnoticed, unacknowledged. Wishing I had a few more crumbs to clean up or a few more squabbles to mediate. I live my life under an umbrella of worry that I'm not soaking enough of it in - that someday I'm going to come to the horrible realization that I should have appreciated their childhood more, but by then it will be too late.
But when I stop to think about it, I realize that some degree of sadness - of mourning the loss of their childhood - is likely inevitable, no matter how much of it I actively enjoy. I mean, is there ever really a saturation point for that kind of thing? Can we quantify exactly how much we must savor before we've relished enough? Would we ever reach a point where we could look back someday and be perfectly satisfied that we hadn't missed a thing? Probably not. I'm sure, as sure as I am that they're growing up too fast, that I will always wish for one more bedtime story . . . one more handmade card . . . one more, "Mommy, I love you!" . . . no matter how many moments I take now to absorb it all.

"Enjoy every moment" is too lofty a goal. It's a lot of undue pressure to put on ourselves. There will never come a day when we don't reminisce and wish we had more time, so there's no point in putting ourselves under such an immense strain for an outcome we're never going to get anyway.
It's like this: I'm standing underneath an Autumn tree when a brisk wind blows dozens of leaves down, swirling around me like rain. Instead of frantically trying to catch them all, which is impossible, I'll just smile at the beauty of the overall chaos - and then catch a few of the best and brightest leaves to press into a book. And later, when I look at it, I'll look at those leaves and they'll remind me of the whole experience: wind in my eyes, leaves everywhere. I may not have caught each one, but I was there to see them as they whirled frenetically around me, all part of a bigger picture.
I hope that's enough. I have to think it will be.
The Amazing Way 1 Mom Honored Everyone Involved in Her Girl's Adoption Day
Although her daughter's adoption day was a big deal for Millie Holloman and her little girl, this new mom realized that the milestone wasn't just about the two of them.
"Sure, our lives are the most dramatically changed through this adoption but Wren's story is far reaching," Millie wrote on Facebook. Millie's friends and family have been with her throughout her entire foster care and adoption journey. "I've often said that when I signed up for foster care, I signed up for the heartache and pain that often come with it," she wrote. "But my family and friends didn't sign those papers, just me. I just dragged them all into it."
Although Millie was the only one to sign the papers, she knows that she and her little girl will never be alone thanks to their "village," who is celebrating alongside this new forever family.
They've been through the ups and downs with me. They've supported me when I called crying after court hearings or given me a shoulder to cry on when I've had to buckle kids in their car seat and send them off with another family to love. They have fallen in love with these kids and they have prayed big prayers for us all. They have stepped up and filled in the gaps for the roles I can't be to these kids.
As a way of recognizing everyone's contribution to her new family, Millie had Matthew Ray of Matt Ray Photography document on Wren's adoption day as a whole instead of focusing solely on the mother-daughter duo. "I'm so grateful for my friends and family . . . I would not be where I am today without my village, and words can't express how much you mean to us!" she wrote. "Thank you for bringing Vera Wren into our tribe and loving her like your own!"

Rogue One's Alternate Ending Was Much More Romantic

The ending of Rogue One made a real statement: sometimes sacrifices must be made for the greater good. The deaths of Jyn Erso, Cassian Andor, and their team of rebels are tragic, but logically necessary given the film's placement in the Star Wars timeline - but they almost survived. Even more new information has been revealed, so let's recap!
In a Decemeber 2016 podcast from Empire, director Gareth Edwards confirmed that the characters didn't die in the original screenplay. He and the writers assumed family-friendly Disney wouldn't let them create a movie in which the main characters perished, but the studio eventually agreed that letting them die made the most sense. "I kept waiting for someone to go, 'You know what? Could we just film an extra scene where we see Jyn and Cassian, they're OK and they're on another planet?' And it never came. No one ever gave us that note, so we got to do it."
Entertainment Weekly's March 2017 interview with screenwriter Gary Whitta revealed even more about their first plan: "The original instinct was that they should all die," he said. "It's worth it. If you're going to give your life for anything, give your life for this, to destroy a weapon that going to kill you all anyway. That's what we always wanted to do. But we never explored it because we were afraid that Disney might not let us do it, that Disney might think it's too dark for a Star Wars movie or for their brand."
Sensing that Disney wouldn't let them go forward with the "They All Die" plan, they came up with an alternate ending: Jyn and Cassian escape Scarif before the Death Star can get to it. "They got away in an escape pod just in time. The pod looked like just another piece of debris."
Given all the scenes from the trailers that were mysteriously absent from the movie, it makes sense that there may have been some story tweaks. Would you rather have seen them living happily ever after?

The Weeknd Takes Selena Gomez on a Romantic Aquarium Date in Toronto
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd touched down in his hometown of Toronto last week, and on Sunday, The Weeknd stole a page out of pal Drake's playbook and took Selena on a romantic date at Ripley's Aquarium. The "Reminder" singer shared a number of photos and videos from the outing on his Instagram story, including a Boomerang video of Selena twirling around and a shot of him gazing into a jellyfish tank. The aquarium just so happens to be the same one Drake and Rihanna visited back in 2016. No word on whether Selena and The Weeknd got matching shark tattoos.

Strangers Had Varying Reactions to 1 Girl Dining With Her "Daddy Doll"
When Brooke Hayes took her kids out to breakfast, her youngest daughter brought along her favorite toy. But instead of grabbing a Barbie or an electronic, this little girl grabbed her "Daddy doll."
The stuffed pillow features a picture of the child's father and allows her to hug him when she misses him during his deployment. According to Brooke, she likes to bring it on any family adventures. "She will pretend to feed it, talk to it, and act like he is with us until we are reunited as a family again," she shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page.
When strangers walked by their table while the child enjoyed her meal with her "daddy doll" by her side, they all had different reactions. An Open Letter to Anyone Considering a Unique Name For Their Baby
Dear parents considering a unique name for their child:
My name is Alessia, nice to meet you.
Chances are, you just saw my name and either stopped to read it again, you tried to sound it out but were definitely unsure of yourself, or maybe, because of the recent fame of pop star Alessia Cara, you knew exactly how to read and pronounce it (though I'm not too optimistic about that).
My name, which is actually fairly common in Italy, where my family is from, is not common at all in the US. I like having a name that reflects my cultural heritage and reinforces a sense of identity, as many others do, but parents who may be considering a complex name - especially one that's purely to be trendy or unique - should know that doing so could come with consequences they don't even realize.
I'm 26 years old and I can probably count on two hands the number of times a person has gotten the pronunciation of my name right on the first go - a surprising minority, considering it has the word "less" right in it. Whenever someone does get it right, my jaw drops, because these moments are few and very far between - I often consider hugging the person for making me feel so normal. But the other 99 percent of the time, people get my name wrong.
Your name goes hand in hand with your identity, and when it's consistently messed up, it makes you feel less validated.
Over the years, I've made it a habit to introduce myself to people by saying my name slowly - careful to enunciate all four syllables - only to have them repeat something totally incorrect back. After the initial correction, I usually get an "I'm so sorry!" or "That's such a beautiful name!" in response. But that doesn't help the situation much, especially when not long after that they make another unsuccessful attempt at my moniker.
I know what you're thinking . . . what's the big deal, right? The big deal is that your name goes hand in hand with your identity, and when it is consistently messed up, it makes you feel less and less validated as a person.
When I was younger, I'd dread the first day of school, knowing that I'd have to correct my teacher in front of the entire class when they inevitably mispronounced my name off the roster.
When I was a soccer player, I had to listen to my coach call me Alicia for years because eventually my correcting him became pointless.
When I graduated from college, my name was butchered - and thanks to bad acoustics, echoed several times - in front of thousands of people (including my parents who named me).
When interviewing for jobs, I worried about being dismissed in the first few seconds of the interview because I had to correct a potential employer after they read my name incorrectly off my résumé.
All of these incidents gave me social anxiety, made me feel like my feelings didn't matter, and put dampers on some of the most important moments of my life.
If someone mispronounces my name, can't remember it because it's less common than Emily or Nicole, or decides on the spot that instead of making an effort to get it right they'll come up with a nickname, that totally sucks. I don't want you to call me a variation of my first name that I didn't offer or refer to me by my last name - I want you to use my actual name, because that's what I introduce myself as.

As someone who often writes posts full of unique, differently spelled, and modern baby names, I totally understand the appeal of choosing a name for your child that isn't mainstream. Do I envy those with common names who have to go by Kate S. or "red-headed Sarah" because there are so many people sharing the same moniker? No - it's nice to have a name that isn't so ubiquitous.
One of my favorite bloggers wrote something about choosing her daughter's name a few years ago that really stood out to me:
My favorite girl's name over the past couple of years has been Soleil. I love the sound of it, I love the spelling of it, I love the meaning of it. But after running it by my friends and realizing not everyone immediately knew how to pronounce it, I decided it would be far better suited as a middle name. Luckily, John's favorite name, Briar, complemented Soleil perfectly. The name Briar was unique; it felt modern and classic at the same time. It was unlike anything we had ever heard before, but not so outlandish that it would haunt her forever.
I remember reading this post and thinking, "YES. She gets it! They get it! They're parents of the year!" They chose a name for their little girl that I've never come across in my own personal connections, but there is literally no question in my mind that anyone who reads it will be able to do so without fudging it up.
So please, when you're considering a unique name for your baby, think ahead. Is the name spelled phonetically and easy to read? Can people understand it after hearing you say it once? If you speak it out loud, would most people know how to write it out without asking you how?
These may seem like tiny, inconsequential details, but I cannot stress enough how these incidents build up and drive a person crazy over time. If you still choose to go unique with your baby's name, godspeed. Hopefully your child owns their name better than I have.

Selena Gomez and The Weeknd touched down in his hometown of Toronto last week, and on Sunday, The Weeknd stole a page out of pal Drake's playbook and took Selena on a romantic date at Ripley's Aquarium. But don't overdo it, she warns. "It's important to let other features find balance by sticking to neutrals on the lips (nudes look great!) and adding a touch of the orange you used on your eyes to your cheeks to coordinate the look without appearing too dramatic," Bartlett added.
You may still be feeling intimidated, especially if you don't think orange works with your complexion. Well, we have good news . . .
"Orange looks amazing on all skin tones and eye colors," Bartlett confirmed. "For deep skin and brown eyes, go for a rich tangerine that will pop. For fairer tones, choose a soft peach. Orange is especially complimentary on blue eyes."
OK, so now you're convinced and ready to DIY it. Try these tips from Bartlett: "For a fully saturated orange stare, the key is to be sure to blend it well. Apply the shadow on the lid and close to the lash line on the top only, using a small fluffy blending brush to bring a soft diffusion of color. The result is a subtle yet statement eye. Avoid rimming the entire eye in orange - it looks much better to splash it on the brow bone or lid for a flash of color!"

How Beauty and the Beast Is Connected to Another Classic Disney Film
Even some Disney diehards would have trouble picking up on the latest Easter egg: the live-action Beauty and the Beast contains a brief (but important) nod to 1996's animated film The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Before we get into the new hint, you should know that Hunchback includes a blink-and-you-missed-it shot of Belle, wandering through the streets of Paris with her nose buried in a book. Disney animators love to put existing characters into new films, but the latest nod is even more subtle.
The new Beauty and the Beast gives Belle a backstory, and as she and the Beast travel back to her childhood home in Paris, we get a glimpse at the skyline. And what do you know? Notre Dame is right there. To be fair, the stories take place in vastly different time periods; Hunchback is originally set in 1482, and Beauty doesn't take place until the 1800s. But still! The connection is there.

Hysterical Mom Gets Real About the "Ultimate Bullsh*t" That Is Dinnertime
Bunmi Laditan is known for getting real on Facebook about the trials of motherhood, but her most recent post about mealtimes once you become a parent might be her funniest yet.
"I'm not running for public office, but if I were, my entire platform would be that all children under ten be fed intravenously or until they learn to cook for themselves; whichever happens first," she wrote on Facebook. "I'd also introduce the idea of sleepaway preschool for 3-year-olds because there is no one who spends time around that particular demographic who doesn't lose a piece of their precious minds because 3-year-olds do.not.give.a.single.f&@$."
Bunmi is sick of trying to convince her kids to do the one thing they need to do to survive and is over cooking food that nobody will actually touch. "It is absolutely insane that every night, mothers and fathers are forced to waste their life trying to convince their seed to CONTINUE LIVING via the ingestion of essential nutrients," she wrote. "I'm sick of cooking food 1/3, 2/3, or 0/3 of them like and watching them look at their plates of pan-seared chicken thighs with roasted potatoes and baby corn like it's a pile of duck tongues served with on a bed of infant baby fingers garnished with dirty toenail clippings, backwash, and leprosy. It's not poison, kids, it's called FOOD; welcome to life."
Now that Bumni is able to freely express that mealtime is the "ultimate bullsh*t" that she's completely over, this mom has some thoughts for other parents.
To the people who suggest that Bunmi just wait it out:
GENIUS. I'll just sit at the table with one sobbing kid while the other two fend for themselves (i.e. fight to the death). Or better yet, I'll just put the meal away until they're hungry and keep reserving it to them like this is some kind of internment camp or KGB training exercise meant to break their wills so that I can rebuild them into robotic super spies.
To the parents who can't relate to this problem:
GOOD. Then go sit in the corner with your anomaly while the rest of us brainstorm. First rule of parenting: if you don't relate to a struggle, shut the (I love God) up. Just shut it right up. My kids sleep well, but you don't see me talking about it to parents at the park with the shaky hands and bloodshot eyes that scream, "I know what 2 a.m. looks like," do you?
And just to clarify, her ill will isn't toward her children; it's just toward the end-of-day torture known as dinnertime. "I don't hate my kids. I hate dinnertime," she added.
Let's Celebrate! Parents Reportedly Live Longer Than Nonparents
Although you may be "dead" tired from all that parenting begs of you, new research says that moms and dads live longer than childless individuals. In the Journal of Epidemiology & Community Health's latest issue, a study named "Payback Time?" reports that "having children is associated with increased longevity."
The study looked at all men and women born between 1911 and 1925 and residing in Sweden from the age of 60 or earlier, some with children and some without. The researchers set out with the goal to discover whether having a child affected the risk of death, especially as the parent aged and needed increased help from loved ones when their health naturally worsened.
They found that those who became parents to at least one child did live longer - by age 60, men lived an average of two years longer than childless men of the same age and women lived an average of one-and-a-half years longer than childless women. By age 80, dads were expected to live around eight months longer than non-dads, while moms lived about seven months longer.
So what does this mean for harried moms and dads? Well, it means we'll live to spoil our grandkids, hopefully, and watch our kids attempt to deal with the stresses of parenthood for a few extra years. "Payback Time," indeed.

British Prime Minister Theresa May is not reserved when it comes to style. As the second woman to hold the post in Parliament, her bold wardrobe helps her distinguish pride and confidence, and she doesn't shy away from statement heels or designer pieces that make her happy. "I like clothes and I like shoes. One of the challenges for women in the workplace is to be ourselves, and I say you can be clever and like clothes. You can have a career and like clothes," she said when she spoke at the Women in the World Summit last year.
Even so, her followers caused a stir when Theresa stepped out for the Pride of Britain Awards in a fit-and-flare that stopped above the knee. "Put your knees away," one Twitter user commented. Yes, it's only March, but are you ready for a holiday surprise? Mariah Carey has announced that Universal is making her hit song "All I Want For Christmas Is You" into an animated film. Carey wrote a children's book inspired by the tune in 2015, but the movie will be based on the song lyrics alone. The singer announced the news via Twitter on Tuesday and even teased a short trailer for the film. Yet then there are so many stories of loss, of sick children, of infertility. And it is sad and it is heart breaking and it is humbling."

"I completely champion sharing the grittier side of parenting, which is hard and exhausting and worrying. But I think it is also important to acknowledge that we are lucky, and gratitude can be shown without the pretense of perfection or of cherishing every moment. Yvette closed her note with one final thought: "Though I don't and never will have this whole thing sussed, tonight I need to say I truly appreciate my children. They are our biggest gift and I am so very thankful to have them in this world."
