7 Highly Probable Plot Details From Game of Thrones' Penultimate Season

We've still got quite a few painful months until Game of Thrones returns. In the meantime, all we can do is obsess over every tiny detail about the next installment. Luckily for you, we've actually gotten quite a lot of information from all the cast quotes, exciting set pictures, and even behind-the-scenes snaps. Wondering what's in store when the new episodes hit? Let's go over what we know.

1. Winter Will Descend on Westeros in Full Force

Kind of a no-brainer, but still well worth mentioning. By the end of the season six finale, Winter has arrived. This means things are about to get a lot chillier in each of the Seven Kingdoms.

2. The Night King Will Head Further South

Cocreator David Benioff put it plain and simple in a recent interview: the Night King is coming. "The Wall isn't just a physical structure keeping the army of the dead out," he said. "If the Wildlings managed to make it over, which they have, and the Night King has so much more in the way of both power and troops who'll do literally anything he says . . . we'll keep it at that for now."

3. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen Will Join Forces

In another batch of set pictures, Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen meet for the first time. This is especially crazy when you consider the fact that they're actually related! Plus, if they make some sort of alliance, it would mean the Iron Islands, the Unsullied, the Dothraki, and the North have all come together to form one massive army. Throw in the Knights of Vail and the Wildlings too, since they both played such pivotal roles in the Battle of the Bastards! All we're saying is, the Lannisters should be worried.

4. Theon Greyjoy Will Be in Grave Danger

Last year, an influx of telling set pictures showed Theon getting beat up. His assailant appears to be his Uncle Euron, which would have grave consequences in the context of the Iron Islands. But even if it's not Euron, Theon could still be seriously injured, maybe even dead.

5. Arya Will Do a Lot More Murdering

Arya may have exacted her revenge on Walder Frey at the end of season six, but there are still a few names left on her kill list. Seeing as Walder officially put her back on track, we will absolutely see her attempts to kill more people in future episodes. It's about to get real bloody up in here, folks.

6. Cersei Might Just Descend Into Madness

In the wake of that shocking season six finale, Cersei has officially lost all three of her children. Cocreator D.B. Weiss explained in a recent interview how this might affect Cersei going forward. "That's what so much of next season is going to be about; finding out what Cersei's mindset is. Who is she? While Cersei has certainly done a lot of horrible things in her life and she could be a very cruel person, the one thing that was redemptive about her was that she genuinely loved her children. Now they're all gone, and I think that is very interesting for us. Who is she without her children? The answer is something you'll find out next season." If you subscribe to the theory that Cersei will become the Mad Queen, it all lines up.

7. Jon Snow Will Likely Learn the Truth About His Parents

In season six, Bran discovered the truth about Jon Snow's parents. Seeing as they're both in the North, it's reasonable to assume Bran will track Jon down and tell him the truth. And even if he doesn't, there's always the chance that Jon Snow will find out on his own. This could cause a huge ripple in the landscape, and it could lead to a shocking realization: that Jon Snow is destined to take the Iron Throne for himself.

The seventh season of Game of Thrones will begin sometime in the Summer.

10 Fun Facts About Ed Sheeran That You Can Use as Talking Points at Parties

Ed Sheeran is having a major moment right now, and we really can't think of anyone who deserves it more. After his new album, Divide, was released in early March, the singer has been all over the map. In addition to delivering one killer performance after the next, he's also opened up about his romance with girlfriend Cherry Seaborn, touched on his friendship with Taylor Swift, and inspired some pretty unbelievable dance videos. But do you ever say to yourself, "I would really love to know more about him"? Us too. Keep reading for 10 fun facts you might not have known about the "Supermarket Flowers" singer.

  1. In 2009, he played in more than 300 live shows and gigs while trying to get noticed. When Ed was just 18, he played a show almost every single day of the year in order to try to build his career from the ground up. "I gigged pretty much every day," he told the Daily Mail in 2012 about his dedication. "My dad cut this article out about James Morrison. He said, 'Look, this dude did 200 gigs in a year. He got the experience and then he got signed.' My dad's attitude is to take someone you admire and not so much copy them as take their work ethic and do it twice as much."
  2. He names all of his guitars. The singer revealed that he names his guitars after people in his working crew. Past guitars have been named Chris, Trev, James I, and James II.
  3. He sees his songs in color. Being the true artist that he is, Ed's songs aren't just lyrics to him. "All my songs have colors," he's said. "'You Need Me I Don't Need You' for example is aubergine. It's a sad song about struggling."
  4. He gave Harry Styles a tattoo. Ed actually tattooed a padlock on the One Direction singer's wrist. Harry later revealed that he's come to regret the ink, saying, "I regret this one on my wrist here [pointing to the padlock]. I mean, these are just crap. There are some that my friends have done and some that are just awful."
  5. Ed estimates that he has between 60 and 100 tattoos himself. His collection of ink includes three boxing gloves, a shamrock filled in with the Irish flag, a giant family tree, a teacup, the Heinz Tomato Ketchup logo, a Canadian maple leaf, and "Red" after Taylor Swift's album.
  6. He also has one in honor of his favorite TV show, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Ed has the word "Prince" tattooed in green letters on his bicep. When asked about the meaning behind it, Ed said, "I played in Philadelphia and I was on tour with my friends, the Rizzle Kicks, who were my opening act. And I got 'Prince,' Jordan got 'Fresh' on his leg, and Harley got on his arm 'on the playground where I spent most of my days.'"
  7. He's relatable when it comes to food. During a 2012 radio interview, Ed got hilariously honest about his outlook on having a chiseled body, saying, "I have never had a six-pack and will never have a six-pack, so I might as well stuff my face." Same, Ed. Same.
  8. Taylor Swift actually contacted him first. We've all come to know and love Ed and Taylor's close friendship, and it turns out that the "Style" singer was the one to make the first move. After one of her managers saw him performing at a show in Nashville back in the day, Taylor contacted him because she instantly fell in love with his music. "['Lego House'] just cut through everything else," Taylor told Rolling Stone.
  9. He has a refreshing outlook on fame. Ed, who has given fans glimpses of his normal and happy childhood through his music videos, still seems to be that same down-to-earth kid from the English countryside. "I've always said that I wanna be known as the nicest and hardest working guy in the industry, so if I could be known as that that would be brilliant," he said in 2012.
  10. He can speak German and Greek. Not a lot, but it's still something!

My Mom Was Latina, My Dad Isn't - 10 Annoying Comments I'm Tired of Hearing

As a multiracial woman with a Peruvian-born mom and a white American dad, I can say life can be a little bit complicated. Growing up, it definitely wasn't the "cool" thing to be multiracial, especially in small-town Oregon where I spent my high school years, so I didn't really start to embrace the Peruvian part of my identity until I got to college. And while I have always taken pride in being Latina - it certainly has come with some built-in perks, like being fluent in Spanish by preschool - the whole thing comes with its fair share of eye-roll-worthy moments. Cue that time customers at my high-school waitressing job assumed I didn't speak English because of the way I looked.

If this story sounds familiar, chances are this roundup of other annoying comments and struggles will be too. Keep scrolling for the most frustrating moments I've faced.

Recess Is Not a Privilege - Stop Taking It Away to Punish Kids

We're happy to present this article by Laura Hudgens from one of our favorite sites, YourTango.

As written by a fed up teacher.

I am a high school teacher, and if there is one thing I know about education it is that modern education is steeped in research and data. Teachers collect and examine data in formative assessments (checking to see if students are learning as we go) and summative assessments (checking to see if student learning is complete).

We look at data from last year's test scores and this year's test scores. We look at what the research says about effective and ineffective teaching methods. We are even expected to collect and use data to determine and communicate how we can improve professionally.

Research-based and data-driven are big, big buzz words in education. We are reminded time and again that our instruction must be research-based and data-driven.

Except when it isn't.

When it comes to recess and the importance of play and physical activity, too many schools ignore the current research. Instead of treating recess as an important, crucial, part of a student's day, some schools still act as if recess is a privilege bestowed on well-behaved, compliant students.

They use recess as a bargaining tool and withhold it as a form of punishment. As parents we tend to accept this. After all, most of us remember losing a recess now and then due to too much talking or an incomplete assignment.

I remember staying in Mr. Lovelady's fourth grade class during more than a few recesses, writing, "I will not talk in class" until my hand ached. I hated to miss recess, but I survived it. So why should it bother me if my son or other kids lose recess from time to time?

The difference is that we had three recesses. In total, we had over an hour every day to play, run, talk, and be with our friends. Many kids today are lucky to get twenty minutes.

The research is clear. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, recess plays a vital role in child development, benefiting children emotionally, socially, physically, and academically. The AAP believes that recess is a crucial and necessary component of a child's development and, as such, it should not be withheld for punitive or academic reasons.

In other words, kids need recess, and recess should not be taken away from children to punish them for misbehavior or as punishment for not completing or incorrectly completing with their work.

Again, this cannot be stressed enough. Recess is not a privilege. It is not a reward. Children should not have to earn recess, and they should not miss recess as a punishment. Because recess is such a vital part of students' development, taking it away from children makes as much sense as taking away math, reading, or spelling.

It does not help them to become better students or better people. So, why are so many schools still using this form of punishment?

Perhaps it's because it seems like a simple solution to unwanted behavior. The problem is that punishment is often less effective in correcting behavior than other forms of discipline. In the case of recess, this punishment is less effective because kids need recess in order to decompress, socialize, and get the wiggles out so that they can focus and behave better in class.

Another possible reason schools take away recess is that teachers are operating with limited time and options. Creative discipline can take time away from instruction and time away from other students.

So, how do teachers change or improve student behavior without taking away recess?

There are no simple solutions, but one key is the support of administrators and parents. Administrators must work with teachers to come up with alternative forms of discipline and ways to improve student behavior (perhaps even offering more recess time).

Schools must also keep the lines of communication with parents open. When parents know what teachers expect and how their children might be falling short of these expectations, they can help by taking action at home. It's unlikely that taking a child's recess away will result in a positive change in behavior. Taking away his television or electronics might.

Childhood is fleeting, and the amount of time children have to play during their day has decreased dramatically in recent years. Current trends in education have forced many schools to severely limit or in some cases eliminate recess.

This isn't right, and it isn't in the best interest of children.

It might take years to restore recess to its rightful place in the curriculum, but the first step toward restoring recess is to acknowledge that it is not a privilege reserved only for the well behaved.

"Halo Eye" Makeup Is Trending on Instagram - and It's Mesmerizing!

First, it was pink eye. Then the red eye. Now, it's rare to get through a day of Instagram scrolling without coming across "halo eye".

More and more beauty-lovers, and especially artists and bloggers, are ditching multidimensional smoky eyes in favor of a cleaner and often brighter (peach and orange are huge right now!) wash of one shadow shade on the lid and along the lower lash line, connected at the sides to create an entrancing "halo" around the eye.

Makeup artist Ashlee Glazer says the key to mastering the look is to go big. "Apply a primer (such as Urban Decay Primer Potion) to help set the shadow and ensure it doesn't wear throughout the day. Then, use an eye shadow brush (like MAC #239) to apply the desired color to the entire lid, stopping just short of or going slightly over the crease line. Finally, using the same brush, sweep the same shade along the lower lash line, connecting the color at each corner," Glazer advised.

If you really want to amplify your look, Glazer suggests adding a touch of highlighter just below the brow line and in the inner corner of the eye. "Complete your look with two coats of volumizing mascara (like Smith & Cult Lash Dance Mascara in Radio Silence). Bonus points if you add false lashes!" she said.

Now that you have the basics down, read through and be inspired by some of our favorite Instagram "halo eye" looks. We suggest you go with a lighter shade for day, then ramp things up with a darker or brighter shade come evening.

Dad Is Beyond Proud That His Son's Football Team Lost to a Group of Girls

When an anonymous dad showed up at his son's football game, he noticed something "odd." There appeared to be an all-girls team on the field, and at first, this dad couldn't wrap his head around the idea that his 10-year-old boy was going to be playing against girls . . . in a football game.

Despite the surprised looks between parents on the sidelines, the game went on and something became very clear: the girls were good. "It was a slaughter. My dad and others on our side were annoyed," the dad shared on Reddit.

As he watched the boys' team walk off in disappointment, he also noticed something in the parents of the little girls who had just dominated on the field. "I watched them and saw this deep, deep pride. I saw it in the coach of the girl's team. They were so damn happy that their girls were able to kick some ass," he wrote. "I honestly wanted to give them all hugs because the parents heard the underhanded comments of the NFL dads on the sidelines. They heard the jokes. But they just wanted to watch some football and cheer on their kids."

Despite admitting to feeling torn about girls beating his boy and worrying that his child would get teased because of it, this dad decided to casually bring up the game the next day. While he and his child were eating dinner, he explained his thoughts on the teams but was shocked by his child's response.

"[I told] him how I felt a mix of pride in the girls team, that girls around the world have never been able to do certain things because people didn't let them, and that men and even women will say girls can't do things," he wrote. "He shrugged and said, 'Ya they were good. Our team sucks. No big deal.'"

That's when it hit this man - because of how he's tried to raise his son and the generation in which he's growing up, the child already knows all of the things about how amazing women are that his dad was trying to teach.

"To him it was just a better team beating his team because they had a better coach and had a better game," he wrote. "He saw the ugliness of the world (the parents, the societal feeling that men are ALWAYS stronger than girls) and at the same time he saw the beauty; that you should wait to judge people based on their actions, girls and boys aren't monolithic creatures, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, and being better means playing better."

4 Simple Lessons I Learned From My Dad That Have Made Me a Stronger Woman

There's no denying the power and influence moms have on their daughters' upbringing and transformation into young women. My younger sister and I were raised in a two-parent household with a very authoritative, strong mom to whom I attribute many of the lifelong lessons I've learned. But, luckily for us, my dad was there alongside my mother to coach and mentor us during our most crucial teen and adult years.

While maternal figures are commonly associated with enforcing certain values in young girls, dads do it, too. I know because I've experienced this firsthand. I believe that the support received from dads is equally important in the upbringing of strong, independent women.

My dad and I may not share the same gender, but many of the unexpected little things I've learned specifically from him have impacted my continuous growth into a woman. Here are a few of them.

1. The drive to go after what you want.

Although my father has the least aggressive personality in my household, it doesn't mean that he doesn't enforce the importance of being aggressive when it comes to achieving my educational and career goals. I am a first-generation college graduate, and my dad has opened his mind up to learning the American college system to coach me through the application process. He's scoped out internships and companies of interest and always assures me that I am completely capable of achieving my goals. My father has always been a supportive voice of reason for all of my career and educational decisions and still remains so to this day.

2. The importance of taking care of yourself.

Being the only male in a house full of women will also make you no stranger to women's health and feminine care, but these topics have never been too taboo to bring up around my dad. My dad has never tiptoed around talking to me and my sister about our physical or mental health. Feeling depressed? I can tell my dad. Stomach cramps got me down? I can talk to him. Being able to remain open with my father on things that would make most men uncomfortable has molded how I view my male counterpart's views and reactions to women's health.

3. Traditional gender roles are a thing of the past.

At a glance, my dad is your "average macho man." I typically associate all handiwork with him, and although he is a great handyman, he has never been opposed to doing things or teaching my sister and me things that aren't typical for our gender. My dad has (terribly) styled my hair, gone for pedicures with my mom, cooked dinner after work, cleaned, and done laundry . . . just like my mom. He has also held a job in a female-dominant company for more than 15 years, and he has formed respectable professional relationships with his female superiors - and has never questioned their intelligence or power. There has also never been a such thing as a "woman's job" in my household. Except for when there's been a really tight jar of pasta sauce to uncap . . . he's a pro at that.

4. To be who you are at all times.

My mom and dad are quite the opposites: my father is more reserved and my mom is more outspoken. Watching my father interact with my mom and genuinely let her be who she is for 20-plus years of marriage has set a great example for me. This has shown me that women do not need to be timid or silenced in their everyday lives. In fact, my dad has embraced that he lives with three very unique (and sometimes overwhelming) ladies, but he encourages us to fearlessly express ourselves because we are human and it is totally OK to be who you are.

Cheetos Is Launching a Fashion Line - Because Nothing Is Off Limits These Days

After dipping their cheese-powder-covered toes into the waters of the beauty world with a bright orange bronzer product, the innovative team at Cheetos is foraying into the fashion world. Because what do they have to lose at this point? People will always be in love with the puffy, crunchy treats, even if they do leave their fingers (and clothes) caked in particles of artificial cheese dust for days on end.

The childhood (and, let's be real, adulthood) snack brand recently launched a new "snackwear line" on Betabrand, a retail clothing company and crowdfunding platform. The products in the collection could not be any cheesier (pun only semi-intended), but some of them actually seem pretty useful for Cheetos addicts. In line with the tried-and-true "form follows function" principle, these items are designed to solve common problems that snackers come across will munching on the cheesy bites (i.e. the "Snacking Gloves" aim to prevent the Cheetos fingers epidemic, while the "Snackspenders" have tiny pockets to store the snack when you get a sudden craving on the go).

These products aren't officially on the market yet, and Cheetos needs your input to make them a reality. You can check out conceptual illustrations of these potential fashion items on the Betabrand website and vote for your favorites. The winners will go on to become crowdfunding projects that could eventually be produced in the future. Our fingers are crossed for those Snacking Gloves!

Read on to catch a glimpse of the hilarious yet useful ideas that Cheetos has up its sleeves.

According to a Starbucks rep, the Mercato menu will "meet a variety of dietary lifestyles, including vegan, vegetarian, and high-protein." It's like Starbucks really knows us, am I right?

Currently, the menu will only be available at 100 downtown Chicago locations, and Starbucks says leftover items will be donated nightly to local food banks through Starbucks FoodShare program. Though we will have to wait a while for this menu to venture across the States, at least we can try the new Spring breakfast items like the sprouted bagel and avocado spread.

Stop, Sit, and Watch a 17-Year-Old Shakira in a Telenovela!

We are throwing it all the way back to 1994 when an unknown 17-year-old named Shakira played Luisa María in El Oasis. The telenovela was a classic spin off of Romeo and Juliet with Shakira falling in love with the son of her father's enemy.

In the clip above, Shakira's telenovela dad is not having it after discovering her secret relationship. He not only grounds her, but arranges her marriage to another man (because that's what happens in telenovelas). The best part is all of the dramatic reactions Shakira has to literally everything that happens in the clip. Watch the video above and you will totally get what we mean.

3 Printable Workouts For Brides (or Anyone Who Wants Strong Abs and Arms)

The vast majority of brides I have trained, as they prepped for their wedding day, wanted to work their arms and abs exclusively. These requests were definitely inspired by the fashions - sleeveless dresses and tight bodices - they would be wearing down the aisle. Here are three workouts that target those areas while giving you a decent full-body workout too (since you also just want to be strong all over). Best of all, these three workouts are all printable. Check them out! They're great for shaping up for the big day and beyond.

I Swore I'd Never Complain About Anything If I Could Just Have a Baby

The following story, "I Swore I'd Never Complain" by Alyssa Shelasky, was originally published on Boomdash.

When I decided to have a baby on my own, about three years ago, I swore I'd never complain. I'd never take it for granted. I'd never b*tch about the thing I wanted so, so, so, so badly.

And for a while, I didn't.

I did a lot without complaining. Emergency C-section, six months without sleep, solo travel with a screaming baby, a milk-duct in my left breast that grew to the size of a Granny Smith, etc. Nothing we all haven't (barely) survived.

Anyway, I wasn't a huge complainer to begin with.

Becoming a Single Mother by Choice is not for wimps. If you can't handle hustle, stress, and a nonstop schlep than it's probably not for you. But like most New Yorkers, hustle, stress, and a nonstop schlep was my chosen way of life. New York badassery prepared me for motherhood more than any book ever could.

Okay, maybe I was a little spoiled in the sense that as a freelancer, I woke up whenever my body wanted to. (Can you imagine that now?) And it was never before 9 am. Also, I had endless afternoons to, I don't know, like, live life. I enjoyed indie matinees with carefully curated coffee from La Colombe and brie sandwiches from Breads Bakery. I'd sometimes spend all day Saturday sourcing the best, cheapest, messiest Japanese haircut. And then go. Or not.

But giving up all of that superficial (aka: absolutely f*cking spectacular lifestyle) was a small price to pay for motherhood. I get that. I really do!

I was even totally prepared to give up romance . . . for a while.

And then, when Hazel was six months old, I met someone. And, among other beautiful things about him - that he's kind, generous, and sexy - I now had someone to share the ride with, even if temporarily. And I finally had someone to complain to.

At first I bit my tongue. I wore tough 'n tender well. But slowly, I got comfortable. Too comfortable. I let it all out. Isn't that what partners do? Commiserate? Granted, my daughter doesn't give me much to complain about. She is perfect.

I'm just . . . really tired. (I know, how unoriginal, who isn't??) And I miss tending vigorously to my first baby, my work. Those are the only things that sometimes hurt. And only a little. Oh, and that I cook her really gorgeous produce and proteins and she'll eat only pasta and pastries. And that she loves cats and motel rooms, which I just can't get behind.

Anyway, after only a few weeks of dating, the now "boyfriend" took me home to Maine. To love me, means loving Hazel; to love him, means loving Maine. I'm originally from Massachusetts, so I was game. But that's where my relationship with complaining got even more complicated.

Because newsflash: Mainers don't complain. His amazing, attractive, overflowing family, with farms and gardens and dogs and flowers and meals to make Martha Stewart cry, never complains. It's not in their blood; it's not in their blueberries. They wake up very early, they work very hard, they eat very well, and they do not complain.

I loved them from the start. They embraced Hazel with open hearts. They made me feel empowered for walking a different path. Strong women and Maine go together like Neurotics and New York. Maybe Hazel would be a hybrid?

Not for the first time, I recently asked my boyfriend's mom, "Where do the complaints go?" Does she simply not say them out loud? Do they not even exist in her head? She just smiled, warmly. And then I probably told her I was freezing and asked to borrow a fleece.

It's been a year together now. Hazel is 17-months old. And did I mention, she's perfect? The three of us are leaving for Bermuda on Tuesday so that I can write about pink sand and sailboats. I am lucky.

I am also writing this from my one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn, where Hazel has the bedroom and I sleep on a daybed in the living room. My boyfriend sometimes sleeps on a fold-up mattress on the floor. My apartment, which was once so chic and writerly that it was photographed in magazines, is now a sticky squalor, accessorized with non-organic muffin crumbs, shitty plastic tambourines and random, dirty socks of all sizes. My daughter - hand to God - has her hand in the toilet bowl and I'm totally allowing it because writing without interruption is my last luxury. I honestly haven't showered since . . .

But I swore I'd never complain.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Flee to Morocco For a Vacation With Baby Luna

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend first gave us relationship goals, and now they're serving up vacation goals. The couple is currently enjoying a family vacation with daughter Luna and pals Jen Atkin and Mike Rosenthal in Morocco, and the photos are as cute as you'd expect. John kicked things off by sharing a precious snap of him and Luna looking like twins, and Chrissy followed suit, uploading a shot of her and Luna in matching pink outfits. On Monday, the stylish model posted a snap of Luna wearing her first bow, but that wasn't even the best part. As Luna munches on a snack, Chrissy captures her saying "cat" for the first time as they spot a furry pet outside. John is set to go on tour later this Summer, so he's likely squeezing in some family time before all of the madness.

Mom's Thoughts on the Child Who Punched Her Girl: "Sometimes Kids Get it Wrong"

When Olivia Wilson's little girl came home from school "with a bruise the size and shape of a 10-year-old boy's fist" on her chest, this mom-of-two understandably went through a range of emotions.

"[I was] shocked, flabbergasted, upset, concerned, angry; no livid, enraged, outraged, beside myself, sweaty, dizzy, pacing up and down the kitchen . . . how could anyone do this?" Olivia wrote on her blog, The Wilsons of O. But after a Friday night spent thinking about the incident over a glass of wine, Olivia tried to consider the other child's perspective.

"Saturday morning arrived, I was regretting the wine, and also regretting how horribly I had handled my emotions," she wrote. She realized that she has also been in this situation before, but on the other side of things with her older child, Monty.

"He is loud, brave, a little punchy, energetic beyond belief, and will always, without fail, step in if he thinks someone is being wronged," she wrote. "He can often be seen pushing his big sister out of the way, so as he can confront the big kid who's being mean to her. He always runs to the aid of his friends."

However, Olivia admits that sometimes Monty's "protective nature" gets the better of him and he takes things a bit too far. "Honestly, he has been known to make much bigger kids cry and run to their moms when he has been standing up for someone," she wrote.

A time when Monty was 2-years-old and pinched another toddler came to her mind. When Olivia found out that her kid had hurt another child, she felt awful and was torn on what part of the situation upset her more. "I couldn't make out whether my heart was breaking because I was upset that my child would hurt someone else on purpose, or whether I was sad for the other mother who was now being told her precious child was going home with an injury," she wrote.

After recalling how difficult it was for her to be in that position, Olivia began to empathize for the mother of the child who hurt her girl. "How would I feel if I'd had a phone call to say he had punched someone so hard they had to go and have an x-ray?" she wrote. "Honestly . . . I think that feeling would far outweigh my frenzied lioness feelings."

Thanks to Olivia's unique perspective having been the parent on both sides of this difficult situation, she is encouraging other moms and dads not to be too hard on themselves if their kid acts out.

To learn that your child has shown such aggression toward another student has to be heartbreaking to say the least. When we send our children out into the big wide world, we hope that we have taught them enough to cope in certain situations, how to stand up for themselves in the right way, how to use their manners all of the time.

What we don't really consider as parents is, sometimes they will forget these rules, accidentally let loose and lash out, forget to wash their hands or say please may I. This in no way is a reflection on the school or the teachers, nor is it a reflection on how we have parented our children. Sometimes kids just get it wrong, very wrong.

Ina Garten Nails Her Photoshop Skills With This Hilarious Spoof of a Cookbook

Stephen Colbert recently tweeted at Ina Garten, joking that a "quiet night in" for the Barefoot Contessa is a dinner for six. It didn't take long for the acclaimed Food Network star to work up a clever comeback (and Photoshop her latest cookbook cover). Though we're fans of Cooking For Jeffrey, is it wrong to want the follow-up Cooking For Stephen? Though it's unlikely to ever come into fruition, thanks to folks on the internet, recipes for french-toasted Twinkies and copycat Waffle House sausage gravy do exist, so not all hopes are dashed!

31 Photos of Men Holding Their Tots That'll Make Your Ovaries Explode

What's cuter than a man holding a baby? Well, not a whole lot. For some reason, seeing a tiny tot wrapped in a gorgeous guy's arms makes women weak in the knees. We're not sure if it's purely biological or because men and babies are both beautiful in their own right, but putting these two creatures together produces an amount of cuteness that the world may not be ready for. Don't believe it? Take a look at these photos and try not to swoon.

I Love My Kid - That's Why I Send Him Away For the Summer

"I could never," the stranger in line in front of me at Target exclaimed with her hand clenched against her chest.

Moments earlier, she overheard me on the phone asking my 10-year-old son how many tubes of sunscreen he went through last Summer and if he needed a new fan this year. She asked where we were headed, which, based on the overflowing nature of my shopping cart, I understood. I laughed, telling her it wasn't "we" - it was "he." He was going to sleepaway camp for the Summer and I was trying to get a head start on packing. That, of course, led to questions about how long and where and why. To which I answered, seven weeks, five hours away, and because we love him and want him to experience all that camp has to offer.

That's when she made her comment. I decided it wasn't worth any more discussion - I had my reasons and didn't need to explain them to a stranger - but it did get me thinking. Why do we ship our children away for the Summer?

Both my husband and I went away to camp when we were kids, me for four weeks each Summer and him for eight. Ask us, or really any other kid who did so, and they'll probably tell you those were the happiest days of their childhoods. We can still sing the songs, tell color war stories until your ears fall off, recall first crushes . . . and first kisses, and remember the distinct smell of the dining hall and the slimy bottoms of the lakes.

What we didn't realize at the time was everything else we learned. We learned independence. We learned to care for ourselves. Yes, there were counselors there overseeing everything, but we really did learn how to handle so much on our own. Without parents there, we learned to make new friends. We put ourselves out there and tried new activities and new foods. We learned a bit about ourselves without even realizing it.

These are the lessons I want my sons to learn - once both are old enough to go (my youngest is still too young). Being away from home is a time to learn about yourself outside of the comforts and security of home. It's a time to learn to bask in the uncertainty of what comes next or who will be sleeping in the bed next to you. In this age of connectivity, where there's always a phone, computer, or tablet in sight, it's a forced break from that. My son's camp does not allow any electronics and I couldn't be more grateful. Camp is a time to re-create the carefree days of childhood that my kids' grandparents - and even their great-grandparents - experienced all those years ago. As city dwellers, it's also a chance for my kids to experience nature - not at a museum or a park surrounded by buildings, but nature in its natural state.

And, let's be frank here: it's always a great break for us, the parents. The hustle and bustle of the school year is exhausting. And by the time the Summer rolls around, we could all use a break from each other. Yes, I spend half my day scrolling through the photos the camp posts for any sign that my child is happy, sad, or really just clean! But the time apart proves that absence does make the heart grow fonder.

Last year, my oldest went off to camp for the first time. He didn't know a soul. He sat on the bus with a boy he had met a few minutes earlier and a few days later I got a letter from him that he was loving it. He had already gone camping, canoeing, and water skiing - three things he'd never done in his life. He was playing street hockey and tennis and eating s'mores each night. And the kid I had to drag out of bed each morning for school had joined a Polar Bear club where they jump in the lake first thing every morning. In the matter of three days, he was already making memories. Five weeks later, he was begging us to extend his Summer to the full seven weeks away. We told him we thought he'd had enough for his first Summer, but would gladly do it for the next. Right now, he's counting down the days on his calendar.

In shipping my kid away for the Summer, I'm giving him something special, whether he knows it or not right now. Just a few weeks ago, we were having one of our frequent arguments about something trivial. He suddenly blurted out that the reason I send him to camp is to "get rid of him for the Summer." And while in that moment it may have rung true, I told him that wasn't the case at all - that camp is hardly punishment; it's a privilege and he's very lucky to be able to go, that I would never spend the money I do on a camp if it was punishment.

So while the woman in line at Target may never understand why we send our kid to camp, I can think of a thousand reasons. But the best reason is that we're doing it for him. There's a saying the campers like to say: "We live 10 months for two." I can't think of a better sentiment.

Rupert Grint Says He Made Ed Sheeran Up to Create "Real Magic" After Harry Potter

The resemblance between Rupert Grint and Ed Sheeran is nothing new (personally, we don't see it, besides the red hair). While we've loved each of them individually for their amazing careers and talents (one blessed us with Harry Potter, the other with Divide), Rupert decided to come clean about what's really going on during a recent stop at MTV. In a hilarious skit with Josh Horowitz, the Snatched actor revealed that Ed actually isn't a real person. He explained that he made Ed up after Harry Potter ended because he wanted to create "real magic," but it's now become too hard to lead a double life. "I created a character," he said. "He had the voice of an angel, impossibly wispy facial hair . . . so I bought a guitar and a bunch of flannel. I called him Ed, Ed Sheeran. Such a weird name, right?" Before ultimately deciding to still keep Ed around, Rupert also made a hilarious confession about Taylor Swift's cats. Watch the whole thing above.

Mom's Message About Her Body Is What Every Little Girl Needs to Hear

"Why is your tummy big, Mama?" is a question that many moms would never want to hear. But when Allison Kimmey's daughter asked this well-meaning question, this mom handled it like a champion.

When the mother-daughter duo were at the pool, the little girl noticed her mom's stretch marks and was curious what they were from. Allison remained neutral and explained that she got them when she "grew really fast" as a kid and when her little one was "growing in her tummy." When the child continued to inquisitively look at the lines on her mom's stomach, Allison realized that in this moment, she had the opportunity to teach her girl that it's OK to love your body and talk about it without shame.

"They are shiny and sparkly, aren't they pretty?" she said to her daughter about the stretch marks. "Yes, I like this one the best, it's so glittery. When can I get some?" the child asked. Her mom sweetly responded that she might get her "glitter stripes" when she gets older, and her girl was left in awe of her mom's body.

"It matters how we talk to our daughters about our bodies! They are listening. They are asking. And it is up to YOU to help them shape how they will feel about these things!" she wrote on Facebook. "Will you continue the shame that society has placed on you? Or will you teach her a new way of love?"

The mom of two shared her story in the hope that it would remind other parents how critical their words can be in shaping their child's body image and perception of self-love. She added on Instagram:

The limiting beliefs we have now as adults were formed as children. Even if you aren't directly telling a child that they are fat or unworthy, by saying those things about yourself you have indirectly led them to believe it about themselves.

It will never ever be wrong to encourage a young person to love their body, even when that body doesn't match society standards, even when you think that body might yield some bullying, self hate is never the answer.

Teaching them to see the good in themselves and equipping them with strong beliefs that every body is a good body will speak volumes as they grow older and will create a new fierce loving generation with humility and that is the best gift we can all give.

The Tedious Adoption Process Is Absolutely Worth It, and This Video Is Proof

In 2012 (yes, you read that correctly...2012), we started the adoption process to bring home our two precious sons from the Democratic Republic of Congo. March 1, 2016 11:45pm...

Posted by Jennifer Murrow Grover on Thursday, March 3, 2016

Deciding to adopt might just be the easiest part of the entire process, as bringing a new member into your family comes with many obstacles. Jennifer Murrow Grover and her husband, James, who know the difficulties of adoption all too well, were finally able to unite with their two sons at the airport, three years later. In the touching video above, the four embrace with tears as if they've always known each other.

International adoption was completely foreign to the couple prior to adopting their first child 15 years ago. After already having three young children of her own, Jennifer began to experience a sense of yearning for a baby girl. "I just started feeling very much that there was a little girl that was supposed to be in our family that was not going to come through us biologically and we needed to go find her," said Jennifer in a West Sands Adoptions video. Jennifer and James have also had to deal with the tragedy of five miscarriages over the years.

Growing up in the military, Jennifer was exposed to various parts and cultures of the world, and she wanted to bring that diversity into her own family. Three adopted children later, Jennifer felt that yearning once again - this time, for two sons.

Without hesitation, she knew 7-year-old Bronson and 14-year-old Joseph were perfect. "When I saw Bronson's picture, I knew instantly that he was ours." Then a day or two later, Jennifer saw more agency photos that included Joseph, and the rest was history. Although the boys have legally been their children for about two-and-a-half years, bringing them from the Democratic Republic of the Congo was not an easy feat like their previous adoptions. While waiting for the US to approve their visas, the DRC placed a suspension on adopted children, forcing Bronson and Joseph to wait to come home.

"One thing that is very common with adoption in general, but specifically an international adoption, is you need to expect the unexpected. We have not had an adoption yet where there has not been something unexpected take place."

While it was easy to get discouraged by the tedious process, Jennifer and James have remained persistent, and there's no stronger proof than the video above that every obstacle along the way was worth it. Seeing Bronson run into Jennifer's arms alone is enough for us to start tearing. Watch the heartwarming clip of the family yourself.
