Season Finale Schedule: Find Out When Your Favorite Show Is Ending

Spring can mean an influx of new shows, but it also signals the end of some of our favorites - for a few months, anyway. The CW, Fox, NBC, and FX have already announced when a few of their series will be wrapping up before Summer. Some shows won't be returning at all; we've already had to say goodbye to The Vampire Diaries for good, and there will be others. Bones and Grimm are among the shows ending in 2017. Take a look to find out when their final episodes will air, plus see the season finales for a handful of other shows as well.

Read This If You Want Us to Spoil That Terrifying Alien Movie, Life

Spoiler Warning: This post basically ruins the entire movie!

This year, we're already expecting some brutal extraterrestrial horror in the form of Alien: Covenant, but Life (starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds) really took us by surprise. The marketing and the trailer seemed modest enough; it looked scary, sure, but it came across more as a "thinker" alien movie than a straight-up bloodbath. Let's just say we were very, very wrong. In fact, Life is so unsettling and nightmare inducing, we'd like to issue an advanced warning that it's really not for the faint of heart. If you feeling like you can't stomach its horrors or you're just curious about the ending, we're breaking down the shocking conclusion of the film.

Here's the basic premise: A group of astronauts has been living in the International Space Station for months. Their mission is to recover a sample from Mars and see if they can foster intelligent life from it. And they do! They nurture a small alien life form that earns the name Calvin, but they soon realize they were better off leaving well enough alone.

First things first, what does Calvin look like? In his smallest form, he's kind of just like a small, translucent starfish. Every time he kills someone, he grows bigger and scarier. The first murder turns him into a small octopus-looking creature. The next couple turn him into what looks like a big, scary stingray or manta ray. In his final form, he has a ton of tentacles, and even a skull-like head with eyes and face. It's horrifying.

Long story short, everyone dies. Sorry! It seems like it's going to go that way pretty early on. After all, Rory Adams (Ryan Reynolds) dies within in the first 30 minutes, and the subsequent deaths happen pretty shortly thereafter. Plus, the woman leading this expedition, Miranda (Rebecca Ferguson), makes it pretty clear that top priority is to not let Calvin reach Earth . . . even if it means ejecting themselves into deep space. Let's break everything down.

As we mentioned, Rory's the first to go. Remember that gut-wrenching moment from the trailer, when Calvin latches onto the hand of Hugh Derry (Ariyon Bakare)? This lasts an excruciating amount of time, and Calvin crushes his hand completely, leaving it a useless, bloody bag of bones. Hugh passes out from the pain, and while Calvin is distracted, Rory enters the quarantined space to retrieve Hugh. While he manages to get Hugh out of the room, he doesn't make it out in time before Calvin realizes what's going on and tries to escape. The other astronauts are forced to seal the room again, and Rory's trapped inside with Calvin.

What happens next is hard to watch. Rory tries to destroy Calvin with a flamethrower, and even though he gets in plenty of good hits, he's not able to get the job done. Calvin then attacks Rory and crawls inside his body through his mouth, and wrecks him from the inside. Rory starts gurgling gallons of blood and dies shortly thereafter. Rory's flamethrower sets off the sprinkler system in the room, and Calvin escapes into the vents.

From there, Calvin is on a rampage, but we're going to skip to the twist end, where sh*t really goes down. The astronauts get taken out one by one: Ekaterina (Olga Dihovichnaya) drowns in her spacesuit after Calvin causes it to fill with antifreeze, Hugh dies after Calvin drains him of blood, and Sho (Hiroyuki Sanada) gets massacred during a botched Earth-sent rescue that leaves the ship irreparably damaged. All the ship's systems are failing, and David (Jake Gyllenhaal) estimates it'll be about 30 minutes until the International Space Station enters the atmosphere and Calvin makes it to Earth. But then! He remembers the two escape pods!

The plan thus becomes this: David will lure Calvin into his escape pod, override the autopilot, and steer it into deep space. It's fine; he just broke the record for most consecutive days in space, and he admits that he's kind of tired of humans and doesn't want to go back to Earth. Miranda will take the other escape pod and land safely back on Earth.

Here's the twist: everything goes wrong. Miranda somehow gets thrown out into deep space, and David's pod (with Calvin included) crash lands into the ocean. Considering how rapidly Calvin grows and how viciously he kills everyone on the space ship: it's clear that his arrival on Earth will likely mean the end of human kind. Not only do all the characters die in Life, but it's implied that every other human dies too. How's that for a bleak conclusion?

The Incredible Way 1 Woman Managed to Breastfeed Her Newly Adopted Baby

After being told that she would never biologically be a mother, one woman was coming to terms with the news. "My eggs were no good and after 7 IUI, 2 IVF, and one donor FET all leading to two chemical pregnancies; the doctors, my husband, and I decided that pregnancy was just not something I was going to experience in the journey to parenthood," the anonymous woman shared on Breastfeeding Mama Talk's Facebook page.

Instead, the couple decided to move forward with their dreams of starting a family by perusing adoption. As they began the required training and home studies, this mom started the Newman Goldfarb protocol, which helps moms bring in "a substantial milk supply" without going through a pregnancy. "Nine months after starting the protocol I started pumping, and within four months I had donated 1700 ounces of milk to keep some room in our freezer for food and to help some locals mamas out," she shared.

A year after she first started the protocol, their family learned that they had been chosen to adopt a baby whose birth mom was excited to know that she would be able to breastfeed.

Though I couldn't create life I had learned that I could sustain it, and through all of the struggles of inducing lactation it was worth it. Breastfeeding is more than the milk, it's the connection, the quiet moments, the warmth and the bond. To the adoptive mamas out there waiting, keep going, it's so worth it, and if you never knew that adoptive breastfeeding was an option, it is, and it's incredible.

Kylie Cosmetics Is Mailing Empty Highlighters, and Everyone's Pissed

Imagine this scenario: you rush to your mailbox one afternoon and see that your highly anticipated Kylie Cosmetics package has finally arrived, after days of incessantly tracking the delivery online. But when you rip into the box and flip open the Kylighter container, there's no shimmery makeup in sight. Sounds like a horror film plot, am I right?

Well it looks like this has actually been a reality for some unlucky Kylie Cosmetics fans. Shortly after Kylie Cosmetics finally released its collection of six shimmery highlighters, the entire stock quickly sold out online, much to the dismay of die-hard fans who weren't able to punch in their credit card info quickly enough. Apparently the cosmetics brand decided to cope with the overwhelming demand by sending empty packages to its customers.

Rightfully so, many makeup mavens were pretty darn peeved about spending $22 for a Kylighter (or a whopping $130 for the whole bundle) and receiving nothing but an empty plastic container. So they used social media to share photos of their sad, desolate packaging, along with a few words about their frustration.

How to Get Nail Polish Off Just About Anything

Into every life, a little nail polish must fall. But just because you accidentally lacquered your skirt, desk, or couch, that doesn't mean the stuff has to stay there. The faster you act, the better off you'll be, and most materials respond well to solvents you already have lying around the house. See our easy polish stain fixes now.

Removing Polish From Wood
First rule: don't use nail polish remover on wood. It actually ruins finishes and leaves new, maybe even worse looking, stains. Don't panic, though, because there's actually a really easy way to fix the polish-on-wood problem. Just spritz your polish puddle down with plenty of hair spray (we use Aqua Net), let it sit for about 20 seconds, and then wipe it off. You might need to repeat the process a few times, but it's far, far preferable to having splotchy furniture.

Removing Polish From Cloth
Probably one of the most common polish problems, this is also a tricky one. Nail polish remover can interact with some dyes and fabrics (it'll actually melt acetate), so perform a spot test before you use it. If you use remover on your fabric, make sure to launder it directly afterward. And if remover isn't an option, you can always try hair spray. Dry cleaning solvent can also usually remove polish, so if you can't get it out at home, don't be afraid to run it down to your cleaners.

Removing Polish From Hair
If you were in a rush and ended up both ruining your nails and painting up your hair, the fix is pretty simple. If the polish is still wet, just grab some non-acetone polish remover and run it down the polished strands. If it's dry already, work some conditioner or oil gently through your hair until you can slide the polish bits out.

Removing Polish From Carpet
First of all, what color is your carpet? If it's light or white, using a non-acetone polish remover is probably your best bet. If it's dark and you're not sure about whether the dye might interact with it, try pouring on hair spray or rubbing alcohol and then blotting the polish up with a sponge or paper towels. Don't give up if the polish just seems to keep coming - you want to get every last bit out.

If You Prefer Emily Ratajkowski's Bikinis, You Obviously Haven't Seen Her Baywatch Suit

Don't get us wrong, Emily Ratajkowski looks good in a two-piece. In fact, the supermodel's come up with so many ideas for mixing and matching her bikinis, we can barely keep up. But while vacationing with her friends Bella Hadid, Elsa Hosk, Hannah Ferguson, Lais Ribeiro, Hailey Baldwin, and Rose Bertram in the Bahamas, Emily pulled a style switch-up.

Her red Solid & Striped design was fitted and sleek, with not a cutout in sight, and the plunging neckline was a touch sexy - very simple, very effortless, very Baywatch. Emily completed her look with a dainty chain necklace, allowing us full focus on her one-piece. While clearly, most of her pals prefer classic tops and bottoms, Emily is making a case for coverage at the beach. Read on for a look, then shop similar silhouettes for yourself.

You'll Be So Mad You Never Knew About the Sweet Freebie Target Gives to Families

Did you know that all SuperTarget stores give kids a free cookie to snack on while their parents shop? Yup, you read that right. You just need to visit your local store's bakery counter and ask, and a cookie will be provided! We're not sure how we never knew about what just may be the coolest perk in town (it's been going on for decades!).

Target also announced in May 2016 that it listened to parents' feedback and expanded the program to include fresh fruit. Now kids can choose between a piece of fruit or a cookie when they visit a SuperTarget bakery counter.

Although we don't envy the parents who are trying to convince their kids to choose the fruit while surrounded by tempting cookies in the bakery department, we applaud Target for at least making it an option!

This Is the Inspirational Experience Selena Gomez Says She "Will Never Forget"

In case you hadn't noticed yet, Selena Gomez has a newfound focus: the "It Ain't Me" singer is spreading a message of self-acceptance and self-love. After giving a touching acceptance speech at the 2016 American Music Awards, where she said, "If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken," Selena is using her new job as ambassador for Coach to spread her message.

On March 23, Selena surprised a Los Angeles school with the fashion brand's partner Step Up. There, she empowered girls to "love themselves," according to a report by Billboard, adding that she's taking some time off from making music to do things that she's passionate about.

"Step Up's mission to empower young women is personally important to me and something even more crucial in under-served communities. Working with the young women I met today was an inspirational experience I will never forget," Selena said in a statement. Scroll ahead to see more photos from her day of giving.

Get Excited! The "Bleeding" Vegan Burger Is Likely Coming to a Restaurant Near You

In 2015, Impossible Foods announced their determined plan to roll out an entirely plant-based, lab-grown, vegan burger that looks, cooks, tastes, and feels like the real thing. Now, they seem to have delivered on that promise.

The so-called Impossible Burger is already being served at David Chang's restaurant Momofuku Nishi on a first-come, first-serve basis, where it's not unusual to see lines out the door. Bareburger also started offering the burger in select New York locations. At press time, 10 different restaurants across the nation currently sell the "bleeding" vegan burger.

In a press release, the company said it recently opened its first large-scale production facility, which will allow them to make the plant-based meat at faster rate. Impossible Foods also announced a goal to supply up to 1,000 restaurants with the meat and create 4 million burgers per month. Founder and CEO Patrick O. Brown said, "Our mission to transform the global food system is urgent, and the opportunity is huge, so we are embarking on one of the most ambitious scale-ups of any startup in the food industry."

While the Impossible Burger may have originally sounded like a surreal science experiment to some, its growing availability proves that it's a viable menu item that is likely here to stay for the better.

Video of Boy Driving His 5 Puppies Around Is What You Need to See Today

Holy cuteness, Batman. This video of a little boy chauffeuring his five pug puppies around on his bike is just too much. Sitting atop his bike (complete with training wheels), the young boy starts pedaling away with one puppy in his front basket, three more bobbing around in a toy dump truck tied to the back of his bike, and a fifth in another toy truck tied to the back of the first one. It's quite the little puppy train, and the boy's ingenuity is completely adorable.

You may think, "no, not my son," but it's possible that love makes you blind to his bad behavior. So how can you tell if he is a bully? We rounded up seven classic signs that your son is the boy all his classmates fear.

I Tried Color-Correcting Toothpaste - Here's What Happened

Though it isn't a new technique, color-correcting makeup has surged in popularity over the past few years. The concept is simple: it plays upon the color wheel from your elementary school art class. Shades that are direct opposites cancel each other out. For example, if you use a green concealer formula on a red blemish or a peachy tone on blueish circles, those imperfections instantly become less glaringly obvious. Add a foundation on top and you'll appear like you have naturally flawless skin.

I've been pretty faithful to the concept for a while now, so I was immediately intrigued by the launch of Popwhite, a dental care system that relies on color correcting to make your teeth look brighter and whiter. Instead of traditional peroxide, which can be irritating and damaging, the products are formulated with gentle xylitol and coconut in a deep violet shade. Purple cancels out yellow tones, so the logic is pretty sound. The Popwhite team says that the results are cumulative, and teeth can be brightened up to four shades when the system is used twice daily for two weeks.

Because I was both impatient and excited to see the efficiency of dental color correcting, I tested the two products just once and I was pleasantly surprised. Keep reading for before and after photos (they have not been edited at all, so you can get a true look at the color-correcting results!) and to shop the Popwhite products.

What, Where, and When Is the Game of Thrones Concert Experience?

Game of Thrones is such a cultural touchstone that it simply cannot be limited to a book series, a TV show, and an endless amount of fan art. Instead, the show's composer has been touring the country with an orchestra, performing tracks from the series in the Game of Thrones Concert Experience. Announced last year, the tour has been delighting fans for months now, and your time is running out to go see it! If you're not sure what it is, here's some important info.

So, It's a Concert?

Yes, but it's about the visuals too. This will give you an idea of what it really looks like:

Is It Fun?

The tour began this week, and reviews have begun piling up. The Observer called it "extravagant," "lively," and "playful." Meanwhile, fans are calling it "extraordinary" and "amazing."

When Will It Be in My City?

The tour has already swept through most of the country, but here are the upcoming dates:

Couple's Breathtaking Maternity Photos Capture the Power of Love

Jillian Babbel Mendioro and her wife, Tara, are getting ready to welcome their second baby into their family, but the steps they are taking to prepare are different from most. Although Jillian and Tara are married, after Tara gave birth to their first baby and named Jillian on the birth certificate, Jillian still had to legally adopt the baby boy as a precaution. Now that Jillian is pregnant with their second child, Tara is preparing to do the same thing.

According to the National Center For Lesbian Rights, having your name on the birth certificate does not guarantee protections if your legal parentage is challenged in court. "Being married to a birth parent does not automatically mean your parental rights will be fully respected if they are ever challenged. There is no way to guarantee that your parental rights will be respected by a court unless you have an adoption or court judgment," they advise on their website. "Without this, you could lose any right to your child if something happens to the other parent or if you break up."

Instead of being deterred by the political climate during the last month of her pregnancy, this beautiful family is savoring their love and sharing it with everyone as they fight for their rights. "One of my favorite ways to resist is by being super out and showing how beautiful and normal queer families are," Jillian wrote on the Pantsuit Nation Facebook page. "Even when it feels like there's nothing I can do, I remember that by being out in everyday life, online, at work, I am resisting."

9 Simple Hacks to Make Straight Hair Hold a Curl

While I don't suffer from frizz and rainy days don't drive me to tears, I'm still frequently frustrated by my straight hair. It may have a reputation of being one of the easiest textures to manage, but styling is another test entirely. And that's a test I rarely pass. My arduous attempts to add glossy curls to my look always end with the same result: limp, flat locks.

Determined to master my own mane, I reached out to Herbal Essences celebrity stylist Charles Baker Strahan. Turns out, I've been blaming my strands when I'm the one with the terrible technique!

"Naturally straight hair textures can be more difficult to curl," he explained, "but usually the challenges are created in the approach to actually getting the hair to curl." Everything from how I wash my hair to where in my home I use hot tools makes a difference. If your curls unravel, too, read on! Strahan shared nine ways to ensure styling success.

43 Style Lessons We Learned From Carrie Bradshaw

If there's one woman who taught us everything we know about fashion, it's Carrie Bradshaw. The headstrong fashionista at the center of the Sex and the City franchise has broken more style rules than we can count and has inspired us to do the same.

From her tulle skirts to her masterful print-mixing, Carrie spent six seasons as the best dressed woman on television, and let's not forgot the epic movie looks too, all thanks to the show's stylist Patricia Field. Sure, years have passed and trends have come and gone in between, but there are plenty of reasons we'll look to Carrie as our style inspiration forever.

Read on for 43 lessons we learned from our style icon, because why wouldn't we take our fashion advice from the woman who said, "I like my money where I can see it - hanging in my closet."

Experts Reveal the 1 Fruit You Shouldn't Be Using in DIY Beauty Treatments

As great aficionados of both fresh produce and DIY spa treatments, we find there are few better ways to spend a Sunday afternoon than whipping up a natural beauty remedy. We've tried homemade coconut-oil-infused hair masks and body scrubs, brightened our smiles and our fingernails with baking soda, and even washed our faces with honey. However, there's one ingredient we won't be reaching for anytime soon, and it's the humble lemon.

Many women turn to the juice of this citrus fruit to lighten dark spots, dark strands, and chemically exfoliate, but that is ill advised. Lemon juice has an extremely low pH (meaning it's quite acidic), so it is typically more damaging than beneficial to the area you're trying to treat.

Joanna Vargas, celebrity facialist and founder of Joanna Vargas Salon and Skin Care Collection, admits that it can even out pigment to some degree, but she doesn't recommend using it as a cleanser or toner. "Used too frequently, you're running the risk of making your skin red because it's very acidic," she said. Not only can it be irritating to your complexion, it could cause an issue called phytophotodermatitis.

Lemons contain photosensitizing compounds that react when exposed to sunlight, making skin exceptionally sensitive to UV. This leads to hyperpigmentation - the very issue you might have been trying to treat! - or even oozing blisters and chemical burns, which would take months to heal.

In lieu of DIYing a brightening treatment and risking harm to your complexion, try something carefully developed for skin. Look for formulas that contain citric or ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C. We like Ole Henriksen Truth Serum ($72), a sweetly citrusy fragranced product that leaves skin radiant and hydrated.

We have more lemon-based bad news, unfortunately. If you've been mixing up your own hair-lightening spray with water and lemon juice, cut it out. According to Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi, founder and director of Capital Laser & Skin Care and assistant clinical professor of the Department of Dermatology at the George Washington University Medical Center, the acidic nature of lemon juice can weaken your hair.

"It's better to use products that are created specifically for hair lightening," Dr. Tanzi insisted. "Leave it to the professionals!" If you already have light hair, try using a treatment like John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo ($10), which will gently lift and brighten your blonde. (If you have darker strands, just book a salon appointment after looking at our guide to blond hair for inspiration. It's better to be safe than sorry!)

But feel free to keep adding lemon juice to your morning mug of hot water. Experts agree that this is a seriously beneficial way to use the fruit in your daily routine.

Every Magical, Mystifying Dress Emma Watson Wore on Her Press Tour

Emma Watson took on the green carpet challenge back in 2015, committing to wearing only ethically made clothing. Back then, she and her stylist Sarah Slutsky would break down each element of her outfit, from dainty jewels to pumps, detailing where every item came from on Instagram. But Emma took things one step further as she promoted Beauty and the Beast on the film's press tour, which started in Paris.

Emma created a new account called @the_press_tour, where she shared sketches of her looks, all-angle videos, and lengthy captions that credited the teams who crafted her pieces. Many of the designers she tapped, like Stella McCartney, have been on board with using recycled materials for years. Emma's dresses and jumpsuits were "verified green" by Eco-Age, a company that promotes sustainability through core principles that include matters of pollution, labor work, and fabric resourcing.

Scroll to get a look at everything Emma wore - including Oscar de la Renta trousers that took her from the premiere red carpet to The Ellen DeGeneres Show along with a vintage YSL suit - then see the way she transformed Princess Belle's iconic yellow gown for the big screen.

Maisie Williams's Joke About a Major Game of Thrones Death Has Fans on Edge

When it comes to killing off characters on Game of Thrones, truly anything goes. As we saw with Ned Stark's shocking exit in season one, even big characters aren't safe, which is why the show's devoted fans are a bit on edge following an off-the-cuff comment from Maisie Williams at the SXSW film festival. She and costar Sophie Turner, who play onscreen sisters Arya and Sansa Stark and are BFFs IRL, attended a Game of Thrones panel with showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss and were taking questions from audience members. Someone asked why Turner now has blond hair instead of Sansa's trademark red, to which Williams replied, "She's dead." Naturally the room was left to stir in an uncomfortable silence for a second about Sansa's potential death before Benioff lightened the mood with a joke.

Although it seemed like Williams's comment was clearly meant in jest, it didn't stop fans from theorizing that maybe, just maybe, Sansa Stark will actually bite the bullet in season seven. But would Williams really reveal a big spoiler like that? Of all the shows on TV right now, few have been plagued by spoilers the way Game of Thrones has. A number of the cast members have spoken out about their distaste for leaked secrets, and Williams is one of them. In January she told Radio Times that she found them "childish" and "annoying," which would make it pretty odd for her to suddenly turn around and spill a huge plot point to a crowd full of spoiler-hungry fans and journalists. Not to mention, HBO would likely penalize her into oblivion. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), we won't know for sure until the next season premieres on July 16.

A Better Way to Reheat Leftovers in the Microwave

LPT: When heating leftovers, space out a circle in the middle, it will heat up much more evenly. from LifeProTips

Have you ever wondered why reheating leftovers in the microwave always takes so dang long and there's always a cold spot in the middle? Reddit user Omgpolly shared a hack for microwaving food evenly and faster than ever before. When plating the food, shape it like a doughnut, i.e. leave a space in the middle, before microwaving. Though we have yet to try this hack out at home, we're apt to think it could definitely work!

14 Dirty Grey's Anatomy Secrets, Straight From the Cast

With 13 seasons under its belt, Grey's Anatomy has become a staple in ABC's primetime schedule. Even so, we still learn new things about our favorite doctors and Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital every day. Case in point: we stopped by the Grey's panel as part of this year's Paleyfest in LA, and we learned a whole bunch of new and fun facts about the drama. What's the weirdest prop on set? Who's got the best jokes? Check out all the fun Grey's Anatomy trivia we picked up below.

  1. "Calzona" is Jessica Capshaw's favorite couple name. Capshaw was asked about her favorite couple's "ship" name during the panel, and it's no surprise that she picked the love between Callie and Arizona. She might be a little biased, seeing as she said, "I think I have to go with Calzona, right?"
  2. Sex is Debbie Allen's favorite part of being on the show. Oh, and it's not just any sex. Allen revealed that she loves that her character gets to have "mad old sex with Dr. Webber."
  3. Jessica Capshaw's got the best jokes. Giacomo Gianniotti didn't even hesitate when asked who has the best on-set jokes. "Capshaw," he said.
  4. Chandra Wilson never thought this term would turn into such a big thing. "It turned into something really kind of incredible, the whole 'vajayjay' thing," Wilson said, when asked about the most memorable parts of filming the series.
  5. There's a prosthetic of Scott Foley's head hanging around on set. Actor Jason George (who plays Ben) was asked about the strangest prop on set, and he mentioned Scott Foley's prosthetic head. It turns out the prop was made back when Foley was on the show as Henry Burton, the husband of Teddy Altman (Kim Raver).
  6. Justin Chambers is team Jo and is not gunning for a Meredith hook-up. A hook-up between Alex and Meredith has been a recent hot topic of discussion, but Chambers is still holding out hope for Alex and Jo. "I'd like to see how it fleshes out, the relationship with him and Jo," he said. "He wants to marry her."
  1. That new "Japril" episode was shot on location . . . with some special guests. Sarah Drew and Jesse Williams actually escaped to Montana to film their recent episode together. Since they shot the hour concurrently as the other cast filmed a different episode, Grey's had to use a different crew. And guess who they called? The crew that works on Scandal! Now that's some tried and true Shondaland magic.
  2. The show has literally saved someone's life. At one point during the panel, Debbie Allen revealed that a friend of hers realized something was wrong after sharing a bunch of similar symptoms with a patient on the show. She went to the doctor for a proper diagnosis, and she never would have gone in were it not for Grey's Anatomy.
  3. Oh, and by the way, it was directed by Kevin McKidd. Yep. McKidd talked about the experience in the panel, saying, "I wanted the episode to feel like an independent film. I was happy to get the chance to tell one story."
  4. Chandra has also directed her fair share of episodes. McKidd's not the only actor getting in on the behind-the-scenes action. Wilson directed her first episode in 2009 and has racked up a whopping 15 since then.
  5. Ellen Pompeo's directorial debut is around the corner. And now Meredith Grey herself is in on it too! Pompeo directed "Be Still, My Soul," which will air on March 30.
  6. Chambers misses Derek Shepherd and Mark Sloan. During the panel, Chambers was asked who he'd save among the many lost characters throughout the show's run. "McDreamy, McSteamy," he said. "I love them, I miss 'em."
  7. The show is way more real than you might think. Debbie Allen also revealed that pretty much every medical case on the show comes from a real, documented patient. "Our writers look at journals for cutting edge medical stories," she explained. "Our show is saving lives every week."
  8. For such a dramatic show, it's actually a pretty fun set. The reassurance came from Jesse Williams: "It's lighthearted . . . We crack a lot of jokes and save the drama for what's on screen. We talk a lot of sh*t."

Time to Bust Out the Waffle Iron For These Incredible Oreo Wonuts

[I ate] an Oreo Wonut! It's donut batter in a waffle press with Oreos from food

One blessed Redditor shared a photo of Oreo wonuts, aka doughnut batter with Oreo pieces cooked in a waffle iron. Though this person did not share where you can pick up such a marvelous creation, we've figured out the hack for you. Start with our wonut recipe and simply crumble Oreo pieces in the batter before you cook it in the waffle iron. To get the true doughnut texture and flavor, our recipe calls for deep-frying the wonuts after they come out of the waffle iron. But even if you skip that step, these Oreo wonuts are bound to be delicious.

Keep Bread Fresh (Practically) Forever With This Trick

Few things are sadder than tossing out a stale half-loaf of beautiful artisanal (or homemade) bread. The problem: said beautiful bread lacks the stabilizers present in commercial presliced loaves, and so it goes from rocking your world to rock-hard ridiculously fast. The solution: eat more bread a simple trick involving your freezer.

Here's what you should do:

  1. Within 24 hours (maximum) of cutting into a loaf, slice up the remaining bread. (Don't wait until it's already turned the corner; at that point, your best bet is giving leftovers a second life as croutons, breadcrumbs, or bread pudding.) Don't just stick the bread in the freezer unsliced. Unless your kitchen is equipped with a buzz saw, there's no chance you're going to be able to slice it without thawing the entire loaf first (trust us, we've tried).
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment or wax paper, arrange the slices in one layer on top of that, and put it in the freezer, uncovered, until frozen solid. (The parchment will prevent the gorgeous, moist crumb of the bread from sticking to the pan, and the single layer will prevent the slices from freezing stuck to each other.)
  3. Once the bread slices are frozen, transfer them to a resealable freezer bag, removing as much air from the bag as possible.
  4. When a bread craving hits, take out just as many slices of bread as you'll eat then, and either let them thaw at room temperature, or put them directly in the toaster (they'll take about one extra minute to toast). The texture of the bread will be about 95 percent as good as fresh bread and far better than second-day, already-starting-to-go-stale bread. Stored frozen (in a resealable freezer bag), sliced bread will stay fresh and delicious for at least six months, if not longer.

I Tried 13 Mascaras to See Which One Works Best on Asian Lashes

When a quick Google search informed me that CoverGirl's Lashblast Length mascara had been discontinued (#RIP), I was devastated. Like most Asian women, I have naturally thin and short lashes, and that particular CoverGirl formula was the most effective at making them seem longer and fuller. An eyelash-extension expert once told me my lashes were about 8mm long (less than an inch!), and since then I have vowed to have lashes 10mm or longer. But getting lash extensions every two weeks for the rest of my life wasn't really practical.

The next best solution: finding a new mascara I can be 100 percent committed to. I sourced friends, co-workers, and the internet to research which mascaras work best, specifically for Asian lashes. I was on the hunt for a mascara that would deliver both volume and length in one easy-to-use tube, and I realized: isn't that what most people want? Just more so if you have fine eyelashes. After trying 13 different mascaras, I can safely say I found some formulas that make saying goodbye to my old CoverGirl standby a lot easier.
