Why Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's Relationship Almost Didn't Happen

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell may be one of Hollywood's most committed couples, but many fans will be shocked to know their relationship almost didn't happen! The two first met on the set of The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1968, but nothing ever developed because of their major age difference (she was 21 and he was just 16). Although Goldie later admitted there was a spark between them, she said she didn't pursue anything because he was too young.

Thankfully, fate was on their side, and their paths crossed once more when they costarred in the 1984 romantic war drama, Swing Shift. At the time, Kurt had just finalized his divorce from Season Hubley and was already a father to his son, Boston, while Goldie had two kids, Oliver and Kate, from her previous marriage to Bill Hudson. After playing love interests, it didn't take long for their friendship to develop into something more. And that wasn't the last time they shared the screen. After welcoming their son Wyatt in 1986, they went on to costar in the hit romantic comedy, Overboard. Hollywood hasn't been the same since.

I Had a Stylist I Never Met Pick Out Clothes For Me; Here's What I Learned

I'm picky. My mom hates buying me clothes (I always return them), and I'm horrible at receiving gifts; basically I don't trust other people when it comes to my style. But I'm also short on time to actually go shopping. So when I got an offer to try out a clothing delivery service, I decided to fight my aversion and give it a try.

The company I would be working with is Trunk Club, an online personal styling service that while once was only for men has now added women's clothing to its straight-to-your-door delivery. I was connected with my stylist, Chelsea Brown, and we hopped on a quick call. Yes, I was skeptical. "How could someone know what I like in just 10 minutes?" I wondered.

Chelsea got down to business, asking about my sizing, brands I like, and if I was shopping for anything in particular. This time around I focused on the basics: jeans and work-appropriate tops, along with a few party looks for the holidays. After we wrapped up, Chelsea emailed me a preview of what would be coming my way: 15 pieces all hand-selected to fit my personal style. Then, the wait began . . . and ended almost immediately (the package arrived within a few days).

Opening the box felt a little bit like Christmas came early: inside was a collection of goodies for me to choose from, only while gifts happen to cost the receiver nothing at all, whatever I picked would go on my credit card bill (terrifying, I know). As I pulled out each piece, I was genuinely surprised and pleased to find that everything was pretty much up my alley. Chelsea clearly had a great idea of what I was into . . . win! Along with the box was also a list of the pieces and their prices, which leads me to my one and only hang-up: the cost.

Prices ranged from $38 for a turtleneck tank all the way up to $498 for a DVF dress. Most items fell in the $150-$350 range, which for some may be totally workable, but for me proved a bit pricey. I could definitely afford to pick and choose an item or two, but with the whole box totaling $3,700, I would be giving up a few months' rent for all the items – not really an option. I know that other styling services like Stitch Fix offer affordable alternatives, but Trunk Club's request-as-you-need-it model (as opposed to other services' monthly subscriptions) matched what I was looking for. Also, I'll admit it, I have expensive taste, so I would rather pick one nice thing for myself anyways.

Just scroll for a look at what arrived at my doorstep, along with a few major takeaways to consider before trying something similar yourself.

The DIY Beauty Ingredient That Could Be Destroying Your Skin

As great aficionados of both fresh produce and DIY spa treatments, we find there are few better ways to spend a Sunday afternoon than whipping up a natural beauty remedy. We've tried homemade coconut-oil-infused hair masks and body scrubs, brightened our smiles and our fingernails with baking soda, and even washed our faces with honey. However, there's one ingredient we won't be reaching for anytime soon, and it's the humble lemon.

Many women turn to the juice of this citrus fruit to lighten dark spots, dark strands, and chemically exfoliate, but that is ill advised. Lemon juice has an extremely low pH (meaning it's quite acidic), so it is typically more damaging than beneficial to the area you're trying to treat.

Joanna Vargas, celebrity facialist and founder of Joanna Vargas Salon and Skin Care Collection, admits that it can even out pigment to some degree, but she doesn't recommend using it as a cleanser or toner. "Used too frequently, you're running the risk of making your skin red because it's very acidic," she said. Not only can it be irritating to your complexion, it could cause an issue called phytophotodermatitis.

Lemons contain photosensitizing compounds that react when exposed to sunlight, making skin exceptionally sensitive to UV. This leads to hyperpigmentation - the very issue you might have been trying to treat! - or even oozing blisters and chemical burns, which would take months to heal.

In lieu of DIYing a brightening treatment and risking harm to your complexion, try something carefully developed for skin. Look for formulas that contain citric or ascorbic acid, also known as vitamin C. We like Ole Henriksen Truth Serum ($72), a sweetly citrusy fragranced product that leaves skin radiant and hydrated.

We have more lemon-based bad news, unfortunately. If you've been mixing up your own hair-lightening spray with water and lemon juice, cut it out. According to Dr. Elizabeth Tanzi, founder and director of Capital Laser & Skin Care and assistant clinical professor of the Department of Dermatology at the George Washington University Medical Center, the acidic nature of lemon juice can weaken your hair.

"It's better to use products that are created specifically for hair lightening," Dr. Tanzi insisted. "Leave it to the professionals!" If you already have light hair, try using a treatment like John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo ($10), which will gently lift and brighten your blonde. (If you have darker strands, just book a salon appointment after looking at our guide to blond hair for inspiration. It's better to be safe than sorry!)

But feel free to keep adding lemon juice to your morning mug of hot water. Experts agree that this is a seriously beneficial way to use the fruit in your daily routine.

33 Bralettes For Every Type of Girl

Let's get one thing straight: a bralette is for showing off. It's not a push-up bra that gives you a boost, and it's not a crop top that bares just a hint of your midriff. A bralette hits you somewhere in the center of your torso. And while it should make you feel sexy - since you are showing skin - it should also speak to your own personal style.

If you thought bralettes were only for the bold style stars on your Instagram feed, think again. Whether you're feminine and somewhat modest or you consider yourself a total tomboy, there's a design that'll fit right into your wardrobe. Tomb Raider: The New Lara Croft Is Ready to Kick Some Ass

In 2001, Angelina Jolie brought video game royalty Lara Croft to life. 17 years later, Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander is donning the dirty tank top for a reboot. The film, out March 18, 2018, follows a 21-year-old Lara as she travels to a mythical tomb in search of the truth about her father's disappearance. Dominic West, Walton Goggins, and Daniel Wu are all costarring in the action-thriller, directed by Roar Uthaug (2015's The Wave). While we figure out how we feel about the franchise getting rebooted in the first place, take a look at the pictures that were released this week.

14 Dirty Grey's Anatomy Secrets, Straight From the Cast

With 13 seasons under its belt, Grey's Anatomy has become a staple in ABC's primetime schedule. Even so, we still learn new things about our favorite doctors and Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital every day. Case in point: we stopped by the Grey's panel as part of this year's Paleyfest in LA, and we learned a whole bunch of new and fun facts about the drama. What's the weirdest prop on set? Who's got the best jokes? Check out all the fun Grey's Anatomy trivia we picked up below.

  1. "Calzona" is Jessica Capshaw's favorite couple name. Capshaw was asked about her favorite couple's "ship" name during the panel, and it's no surprise that she picked the love between Callie and Arizona. She might be a little biased, seeing as she said, "I think I have to go with Calzona, right?"
  2. Sex is Debbie Allen's favorite part of being on the show. Oh, and it's not just any sex. Allen revealed that she loves that her character gets to have "mad old sex with Dr. Webber."
  3. Jessica Capshaw's got the best jokes. Giacomo Gianniotti didn't even hesitate when asked who has the best on-set jokes. "Capshaw," he said.
  4. Chandra Wilson never thought this term would turn into such a big thing. "It turned into something really kind of incredible, the whole 'vajayjay' thing," Wilson said, when asked about the most memorable parts of filming the series.
  5. There's a prosthetic of Scott Foley's head hanging around on set. Actor Jason George (who plays Ben) was asked about the strangest prop on set, and he mentioned Scott Foley's prosthetic head. It turns out the prop was made back when Foley was on the show as Henry Burton, the husband of Teddy Altman (Kim Raver).
  6. Justin Chambers is team Jo and is not gunning for a Meredith hook-up. A hook-up between Alex and Meredith has been a recent hot topic of discussion, but Chambers is still holding out hope for Alex and Jo. "I'd like to see how it fleshes out, the relationship with him and Jo," he said. "He wants to marry her."
  1. That new "Japril" episode was shot on location . . . with some special guests. Sarah Drew and Jesse Williams actually escaped to Montana to film their recent episode together. Since they shot the hour concurrently as the other cast filmed a different episode, Grey's had to use a different crew. And guess who they called? The crew that works on Scandal! Now that's some tried and true Shondaland magic.
  2. The show has literally saved someone's life. At one point during the panel, Debbie Allen revealed that a friend of hers realized something was wrong after sharing a bunch of similar symptoms with a patient on the show. She went to the doctor for a proper diagnosis, and she never would have gone in were it not for Grey's Anatomy.
  3. Oh, and by the way, it was directed by Kevin McKidd. Yep. McKidd talked about the experience in the panel, saying, "I wanted the episode to feel like an independent film. I was happy to get the chance to tell one story."
  4. Chandra has also directed her fair share of episodes. McKidd's not the only actor getting in on the behind-the-scenes action. Wilson directed her first episode in 2009 and has racked up a whopping 15 since then.
  5. Ellen Pompeo's directorial debut is around the corner. And now Meredith Grey herself is in on it too! Pompeo directed "Be Still, My Soul," which will air on March 30.
  6. Chambers misses Derek Shepherd and Mark Sloan. During the panel, Chambers was asked who he'd save among the many lost characters throughout the show's run. "McDreamy, McSteamy," he said. "I love them, I miss 'em."
  7. The show is way more real than you might think. Debbie Allen also revealed that pretty much every medical case on the show comes from a real, documented patient. "Our writers look at journals for cutting edge medical stories," she explained. "Our show is saving lives every week."
  8. For such a dramatic show, it's actually a pretty fun set. The reassurance came from Jesse Williams: "It's lighthearted . . . We crack a lot of jokes and save the drama for what's on screen. We talk a lot of sh*t."

Mel B Makes Her First Public Appearance Since Filing For Divorce From Stephen Belafonte

Despite her recent split from husband Stephen Belafonte, Mel B seems to be doing just fine. On Monday, the former Spice Girls singer was all smiles when she stepped out for the season 12 kickoff of America's Got Talent in Pasadena, CA. Mel dazzled in a gold jumpsuit and was joined by fellow judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Howie Mandel. The outing marks Mel's first public appearance since she filed for divorce from the film producer after 10 years of marriage. Mel is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old daughter, Madison Belafonte, and the date of their separation was listed as Dec. 28 in the court documents. She has also requested to terminate the court's ability to award spousal support.

It's been a difficult month for Mel; her father, Martin Brown, passed away on March 4 after a five-year battle with cancer. She announced the tragic news in an emotional Instagram post, writing, "It is with great sadness after a 5yr battle to multiple myeloma cancer our loving father Martin Brown passed away age 63 peacefully yesterday. Both of us his children were by his side and would like to say thank you to St Gemma's and all the doctors and nurses for there amazing care and support over the years." Mel is also mom to daughters Angel, 9, and Phoenix, 18, from previous relationships, and Stephen shares daughter Giselle, 12, with ex-girlfriend Nicole Contreras.

Holy Sh*t, These Girls Literally Bathed in Macaroni and Cheese

If you've ever thought to yourself, "Ugh, this food is so good, I could swim in it," well, these girls actually made that happen by making a bath full of macaroni and cheese. Yes, allow me to repeat that: a bath full of macaroni and cheese.

In a move straight out of both our dreams and our nightmares, three college roommates bought 56 boxes of macaroni and cheese, cooked the noodles, and mixed them in a bathtub. One of the women told BuzzFeed News that it took two hours to cook it all, and another tweeted pictures of the whole ordeal, joking, "My roommates got the coolest bath bomb!"

Equal parts amazing and horrifying, right?

Baby Stilettos Are Going Viral - and Some Parents Are Pissed Off

From tutus and knit accessories to oversized bows and suspenders, when it comes to baby photo shoots, there are endless options of adorable props for parents to pick from. However, one prop has parents divided.

Pee Wee Pumps is a children's shoe company that makes mini stilettos for babies up to 6 months old. Although the company isn't new, recent complaints on the Let Clothes Be Clothes Facebook page saying the product is "sexualizing" babies are now circulating.

On the company's website, babies model the controversial "stiletto" with leopard-print accents, pearls, and feathers, and the owner of the company, Michele Holbrook, is spreading the word about the real use for the shoes. "This isn't the first time that the U.K. has had a problem [with the shoes] - they turn it into something it's not; it's a photo prop," she told Footwear News. "That's their opinion if they want to take it, but [the shoes] are intended as a photo prop, and mothers want to use it as a fashion accessory."

Want to Live Longer? Start by Seeing the Glass Half Full, New Study Claims

Starting at a young age, we're constantly told to "look at the glass half full," and to "stay positive" even when things may be going wrong, and now we finally know why. The New York Times has looked at the effects of positive thinking on one's health and it turns out that optimism "may actually improve health and extend life." The health benefits include lower blood pressure, lower possibility of heart disease, better weight control, and healthier blood sugar levels.

While it's undeniably difficult to keep your head up and "look at the bright side" especially when sh*t might be hitting the fan, it turns out that staying positive can not only control your mental state, but there are direct benefits to your health. When you maintain a positive attitude and fill your mind with optimistic thoughts, you are manifesting your healthy future.

Judith T. Moskowitz, a professor of medical social sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, put together a list of eight skills proven to help encourage positive thinking.

Dr. Moskowitz had previously studied 159 people with new H.I.V. diagnoses and found that the people who used these skills in their daily lives "carried a lower load of the virus, were more likely to take their medication correctly and were less likely to need antidepressants to help them cope with their illness." During this scary time of a health crisis, the participants were taught to learn at least three of the eight skills and apply one or more skills in their daily routines. The eight skills are:

  1. Recognize a positive event each day.
  2. Savor that event and log it in a journal or tell someone about it.
  3. Start a daily gratitude journal.
  4. List a personal strength and note how you used it.
  5. Set an attainable goal and note your progress.
  6. Report a relatively minor stress and list ways to reappraise the event positively.
  7. Recognize and practice small acts of kindness daily.
  8. Practice mindfulness, focusing on the here and now rather than the past or future.

Dr. Moskowitz has also studied the effect of positive emotional thinking on patients with Type 2 diabetes and found that optimism was associated with "better control of blood sugar, an increase in physical activity and healthy eating, less use of tobacco, and a lower risk of dying."

It's no secret that thinking positively will help your mental state, but now the facts are in, and positive thinking will lead to a longer life. So, the next time your mom tells you to "see the glass half full," don't think of it as another pointless nag; think of it as health advice!

In honor of their beautiful romance, we're looking back at their cutest moments together outside the walls of Litchfield.

17 Beloved Shows That Are Ending in 2017

While it would be lovely if all our favorite shows lasted until the end of time (just kidding, remember the last season of Lost?), all good things must come to an end. In this case, some of our favorite TV shows are already scheduled to finish up in 2017. Not quite canceled but not quite renewed, these shows were given a gift from the network gods: a forewarning of their inevitable demise. So that you can plan out your emotions accordingly, here's a list of the shows that we know are airing their final episode in 2017. As you read, please hum the lyrics to Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)." Thank you.

The Walking Dead: Here's What Happens to Dwight in the Comics

Ever since the gruesome premiere, The Walking Dead has been playing a frustrating game of keep-away with many of the main characters. The second episode focused on Carol and Morgan finding sanctuary in King Ezekiel's care, and the third episode shone a spotlight on a character you may have discounted: Dwight. We've seen him in a handful of episodes since, and it appears that the show is echoing Dwight's an important storyline in the comics, but just where does it go? Let's explore what happens with Dwight in the books, because he plays a vital role in the war against Negan.

What We Already Know

We get some of Dwight's interesting and tragic backstory during the third episode. The reason for his attempted escape (when Daryl first encounters him in the woods) is grim: Dwight's wife, Sherry, has a sister, Tina, who needs medication, but she doesn't have enough to get it from the Saviors. Negan tells her that if she'll marry him, he'll put her on his medical plan, so to speak. Dwight, Sherry, and Tina flee the compound, but Tina dies without her meds. Dwight and Sherry return, and in exchange for sparing their lives, Negan marries Sherry (also "superhot," as he says) and puts an iron to Dwight's face. Dwight is now one of Negan's top men, but it's obvious he still despises Negan. In the season's penultimate episode, we learn that Dwight has surrendered himself to Rick's people, saying he wants to help them.

What Happens in the Comics

Dwight's animosity toward Negan reaches a fever pitch when Negan keeps pushing his sex life with Sherry in Dwight's face, and Dwight decides he's had enough. He becomes a double agent, going over to the Kingdom to share information about Negan and the Saviors with Rick and Ezekiel. At first, they don't trust him, then he reveals the story of how he got his scar. They agree to work with Dwight, and he lays low until war eventually breaks out between the Saviors and Ezekiel's people. He successfully sabotages Negan's efforts to shoot everyone with infected arrows. At one point, Dwight shoots Rick with an arrow, but it's not infected. Rick is able to recover and slash Negan's throat, but Negan survives and becomes Rick's prisoner.

Dwight becomes the de facto leader of the Saviors, who are now relatively tame without Negan at the helm. Later, he assists Rick in the battle against the Whisperers and eventually helps Negan fight the Whisperers as well. After the ordeal with Negan, his relationship with Sherry never recovers, and Dwight remains a tragic figure.

We'll find out how similar the show's storyline will be on the season finale.

This Indonesian Bride Will Give You Cinderella Vibes - Until You See Her Second Dress

Indonesian bride Intan Azzahra and her groom, Zendhy Zaen, had a wedding fit for a prince and princess. The couple aren't technically royals, but that didn't stop them from throwing an extravagant wedding where the bride had not one but two Cinderella-esque wedding gowns.

For her first dress, Intan wore a custom creation by Indonesian designer Ivan Gunawan, featuring delicate beading on the sleeves and bodice and a train made of soft cascading tulle and more beads. Like a royal, Intan even wore a bejeweled pearl crown to complete her look. But she didn't stop there.

Later on, she changed into a fiery-red gown that - if possible - was pouffier than her first. The design flared out at the shoulders, and layers of feathers trailed all the way down her dress. She, of course, accessorized with a second gold crown, and her guests were in red and gold, too. Read on to see all of the bride's looks from every angle.

7 Things Daughters Really Want From Their Dads

We're happy to present this article by Alex Alexander from one of our favorite sites, YourTango.

Dear Dad,

You're doing an awesome job. Thanks for the extra-cash that one night when I was waiting for my direct deposit to clear and thanks, too, for being as horrified as I am now by the tattoo that's forever etched on my lower back. (You were right; it's trashy.) Thanks for helping me pay for college and for editing my resume and for telling me that my make-up didn't match my skin-tone. (Yikes; I've deleted all photos from 2007.)

Keep on doing what you're doing because you mostly get it right, but I just wanted to write you to let you know that there's a few more things I need from you (I know, I'm greedy). These are the things I find a little bit harder to say to you in person, but they're important nonetheless as we continue this dad/daughter journey together:

  1. I want you tell me I'm beautiful.

It's not weird or creepy. You're setting the tone for how I expect future men in our life to treat me. I know you're the strong, silent type who acknowledges his feelings through actions, not words, but please try. I seek this validation and if I don't get it from you, I'll spend the rest of my life searching for it.

  2. I want to feel protected.

Even though I act mortified when you joke about not letting me date until I'm 40, the truth is, I want to feel like a special commodity to be cherished. Which leads me to...

  3. I want you to screen my potential boyfriends.

TSA-style, yo. It's not overbearing; it shows you care and that you demand perfection (or at least, an attempt at perfection) from any gentleman-caller who wants to take me out for a cocktail. But HARD PASS on showing him your gun collection; that's just ... no.

  4. I love when you act sweet around Mom.

As long as the PDA isn't overly-offensive, it makes me happy to see that you're still totally in love (and lust!) with the woman I look up to most. It makes me believe in the concept of marriage and the concept of forever, especially in a society that seems to devalue these things more and more everyday.

  5. I need you to lose the fanny-pack.

I'm not sure how you've managed to squirrel away that monstrosity away for so many years but I regret to inform you it will not be making the trip to Europe with us this year. Neither will your cell-phone holster or your Sea World t-shirt. Sorry. You gave birth to a woman who has style; trust me on this.

  6. I secretly love when you tell people about my accomplishments.

Again, I'll act embarrassed when you begin reciting our resume to the Starbucks barista/air-conditioning guy/anyone who will listen, but inside: I love that you're proud of me. Your validation means the world to me - and nothing makes me happier to know that I've done well in your eyes. That being said...

  7. I need you to give me a break sometimes.

I will inevitably fail, as one does, and in those moments, I need you to pick me back up, not with criticism or eyerolls or impatience, but with love. As I said in #6, I love when you're proud of me but if your love only gleams when I've accomplished something, I may start to become addicted to your validation, which is unhealthy. It's critical to let me know that you're proud of me, no matter - the job, the boyfriend, the salary, the lifestyle choice. I need your unconditional love most.

Love,
Your daughter

The Moving Story Behind This Lunchroom Photo Will Bring You to Tears

Leah Paske hasn't been in the "scary and hard" middle school grades for years, and understandably has forgotten most things about her experience aside from the one time she cried after a boy called her a name on the bus. But when her son who has autism started sixth grade, Paske started feeling a bit of anxiety about middle school all over again.

"Sometimes I'm grateful for his autism," Paske admitted in a post to Facebook. "That may sound like a terrible thing to say, but in some ways I think, I hope, it shields him. He doesn't seem to notice when people stare at him when he flaps his hands. He doesn't seem to notice that he doesn't get invited to birthday parties anymore. And he doesn't seem to mind if he eats lunch alone."

Paske feels worried for her son, and consistently asks him if anything about his day at school made him sad or if he ate lunch with someone. A few weeks into the school year, however, she got her answer to the latter question not from her son, but through a heartwarming photo of him eating lunch with a special new friend.

"Travis Rudolph, a wide receiver at Florida State, and several other FSU players visited my son's school today," she wrote. "I'm not sure what exactly made this incredibly kind man share a lunch table with my son, but I'm happy to say that it will not soon be forgotten. This is one day I didn't have to worry if my sweet boy ate lunch alone, because he sat across from someone who is a hero in many eyes."

Hand Salad, Anyone? The Internet Responds With a Resounding "Nah, We're Good"

In an earnest attempt to spruce up the notion of crudités and dip, Bon Appétit tried to make "hand salad" happen. In the recipe's accompanying article, the writer admitted, "We call this a hand salad because lettuce and dip just doesn't sound like nearly as much fun." Despite the honesty and lovely picture of the so-called hand salad, the internet nearly imploded.

Social media users were mostly amused by the creation of such an elaborate phrase to describe such a basic culinary concept. Many also pointed out that the lettuce would really just be used as a vehicle to eat more of the dressing dip, understandably. Other brave souls, however, admitted that the hand salad sounds and looks damn good.

Ahead, we've rounded up some of the most hilarious responses, as well as the tweet that started it all.

American Horror Story Season 7: The Confirmed Cast

Information about season seven of American Horror Story is beginning to roll in! While last season was (unfairly) shrouded in mystery until the premiere, we actually do have a few morsels about season seven, including a few hints from Ryan Murphy. The executive producer appeared at the Television Critics Association's Winter press tour in January and revealed something major about the upcoming season: the cast. Well, two members of it, anyway. In March, we got word about one more cast member, and we didn't see this one coming. We'll update you with more casting news as it's revealed, but for now take a look at the two returning alums.

Dad Is Pissed About This "Bullsh*t" Onesie That Makes Men Look Inept

This shirt is bullshit. from daddit

It's unfortunate that some people still believe a mother should be the sole caretaker for her child, but reality check, y'all: it's 2017 and men are perfectly capable of changing diapers, giving bottles, and generally being all-around awesome caregivers for their kids. This fact may have something to do with why one dad is so royally pissed over a "bullsh*t" baby onesie he saw hanging in a clothing store.

The onesie, which reads, "This shirt is Daddy-proof," has arrows labeling where a baby's arms and head should go, and alerts fathers as to what those pesky little round things at the bottom of the onesie are supposed to do ("Snap!" in case you were unsure . . . ).

Cue major eye roll.

Commenters are having a lighthearted field day with the dad's Reddit post, which was appropriately captioned, "This shirt is bullsh*t." One commenter joked, "Durr hurr, fathers are stupid!" while another used the post to throw a bit of playful shade at his partner: "Wife has put on the onesie backwards a few times. I have not (yet)."

How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes With Household Ingredients

We all know that it's bad for us to use dirty makeup brushes on our skin - come on, you wash your face twice a day, but how often do you actually give your tools the same kind of love? If you've been skipping because you're worried about hurting your brushes, we've got an easy DIY way to clean them all up safely. And don't forget to find the makeup brush that's right for you too!

Ingredients:

Olive oil
Antibacterial soap

Steps:

Step 1: Mix two parts antibacterial dish soap to one part of the extra-virgin olive oil on a clean plate (don't use paper plate, as the oil will seep through).

Step 2: Grab your first brush and wet it slightly with lukewarm water. Make sure the brush stays bristle-side down throughout the entire process. If water gets into the ferrule (the middle tube part that holds everything together) of the brush, it can loosen the glue, causing the bristles to fall out.

Step 3: Dip the damp brush into the soap mixture and coat it thoroughly. Next, work the mixture into the bristles using the palm of your hand and fingers. Continue until the soapy residue is makeup free.

Step 4: Rinse the brushes under lukewarm water until no soap runs from the bristles.

Step 5: Roll a dish towel like you would a yoga mat, and drape a paper towel over it so that most of the paper towel hangs off. (The paper towel should look like a slide coming down from the dish towel). Next, arrange the brush so the top of the handle sits on top of the towel, pitching the rest of the brush down onto the paper towel. This will allow your brushes to dry on a slant, while keeping moisture away from the ferrule.

Repeat with remaining brushes. Some make take two washings to get completely clean, depending on the amount of residue left behind. Allow them to dry overnight, and repeat about once a month.

This Look at How 3 Generations of Kids Had Fun Will Make You Concerned For the Future

Nature Valley asked three generations the same question: when you were a kid, what did you do for fun?

Blueberry picking, said an elderly woman. Turning an old sign into a toboggan, said an older man. Building massive forts, recalled a woman. Just going to a field and playing baseball, said a man.

When it came time for the youngest generation - kids barely over the age of 10 or 12 - to respond, their answers were disheartening at best. Playing video games. Texting. Sending email.

"Just last week, I watched 23 episodes of a TV series in just four days," said one boy.

These kids aren't the only ones to blame. Nature Valley has launched a new campaign urging parents and grandparents to do their part to reintroduce the youngest generation to the wonders of the outdoors. As one mom put it best, "That special connection with nature . . . it's innate in all children but needs to be nurtured."

Bates Motel Finally Did Psycho's Shower Scene - but With a Huge Twist!

Ever since it was announced that Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece, Psycho, would be turned into a TV series, we've been wondering how and when the show would feature that shower scene. Bates Motel finally pulled the trigger this week. After hiring Rihanna to play Marion Crane (Norman's infamous victim), the writers completely flipped the script. On Monday's episode, "Marion," Norman bonds with his guest before she heads into the shower. He watched her through a peep hole, but just as the music is swelling, she pulls back the curtain, muttering "Screw this sh*t." Here's the scene:

She goes to Norman, who tells her that Sam is actually married. She leaves, bashes in Sam's (her lover/Madeleine's husband) car, and when she gets back to get her things, Norman tells her to leave. After she's gone, Sam shows up at the motel to meet her . . . just in time to catch Norman with his Murder Face on. Sam gets in the shower and that's when we get the iconic murder scene.

Showrunners Kerry Ehrin and Cartlon Cuse spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the decision to change the story. Cuse explained that they didn't want to do the same thing that the movie did:

"We discussed this episode for a long time in the writers' room. It was a tall order to bring Psycho in, not let it take over, and deliver a story that was going to have meaning for the arc of our characters. We also wanted our story to be at a peak while doing the episode, so it was almost like a math equation. Eventually it felt like because the story we have been telling in Bates Motel is about how Norman got the way he is, and how a lot of it had to do with growing up in a violent household, that led us back to killing Sam. The idea was that he represented to Norman a version of his father. Norman is really going deep, deep down the rabbit hole of insanity; this makes sense in his head at this moment. It's both heartbreaking and horrific, which is sort of the cocktail that we like. We like heartbreak in our horror."

For comparison, here's the original scene from the 1960 film, starring Antony Perkins and Janet Leigh:

Seeing 3 Men Carry a Fatigued Runner Across the Finish Line Will Give You All the Feels

If you've ever run a half marathon, you know how much training, willpower, and effort goes into preparing for one. You also can relate to how heartbreaking it would be if you made it through most of the race, but then wasn't able to finish.

At the fourth annual Philadelphia Love Run Half Marathon, just before reaching the 13.1-mile mark, one woman became so exhausted, that she just about collapses. But two men came along, saw her struggling, pulled her up, and wrapped their arms around her to help her keep going. Then in the ultimate act of compassion, another man scooped her up Prince-Charming-style, and carried her just inches away from the finish line, and placed her down so she could cross it on her own.

Runners really are a unique kind of person, and even though this race was a competition, these three men proved that kindness is way more important than beating your PR.

7 Universal Styling Tricks I Didn't Learn Until I Was Pregnant

As a fashion editor, clothes make up a big chunk of my life. Not only do I wear them every day (you're welcome), but I've become something of an expert on them. So when I got pregnant, I didn't expect there'd be much I'd learn about clothes other than which type of onesie is better for a diaper change. (Hint: nothing will make a diaper change better.)

But then it happened: the day I no longer fit into the majority of my closet, when I was forced to rethink the simple task of getting dressed. And it's put a lot of my previous notions about what to wear and how to wear it into question.

From recycling dresses and trying out trends to solving one of my longest-running fashion frustrations, I wish I'd learned these tricks before, and I'm certainly going to remember them after I ditch this baby bump. In fact, thanks to my nine months of research, you won't have to get knocked up to reap the benefits. Here are seven universal lessons on style that you can learn from this pregnant lady.

This Dad's Reaction to His Rainbow Baby Being Born Is Beyond Moving

Every child's birth is full of emotion, but for parents expecting a rainbow baby, there's a unique set of overwhelming feelings that accompany the day of their baby's birth. Leilani Rogers is used to photographing all types of births, but this one in particular featuring the Madden family is giving us serious chills.

Hope and Hunter Madden may have just welcomed a baby girl, but the couple has been through a lot, having experienced loss due to miscarriage as well as infertility. Their rainbow baby's beautiful birth was photographed by Rogers, but more moving than the birth itself was Hunter's emotional reaction to holding his daughter.

"This is a story about a mom and a dad who went through loss and persistence to get their baby," Rogers captioned the stunning photo of Hunter holding his daughter. "That tattoo on his chest was done after their first miscarriage, and now his daughter lies her sweet head against it. Both of them a reminder of triumph."

The sweet dad's expression brought us to tears before we even learned of the couple's experiences leading up to that moment - it's a completely chill-inducing and gorgeous photo that we're sure the Maddens will cherish forever. Scroll through to see Rogers's other beautiful photos of the Maddens and their baby girl.

Too Faced Might Be Working on a New Peach Product

This 1 Hack Will Ensure You Always Find the Right Foundation at the Drugstore

For over a decade, I've had the honor of working as a makeup artist to some of today's leading supermodels, fashion houses, and entertainers. And throughout this time, I've definitely been put to the test to determine which foundations are best for my clients' skin type. Luckily, the methods that I've developed can also translate to choosing the right complexion product for your skin type - even when you're shopping at the drugstore!

Mass brands have made a huge splash this past year with some of the latest innovations in foundation formulations. They have really become comparable to high-end department store types - and for a fraction of the cost! From Neutrogena's skincare-infused options to L'Oréal's expansive shade range, drugstore foundations are, well, covering all bases.

There are various factors to consider when shopping for the right foundation, especially when you can't exactly try them on in-store. Perhaps you're used to working with a Sephora Pro for guidance, or maybe you shop for beauty in department stores, where testers are available. When you're on your own at a pharmacy (without those handy options), it's easy to end up accidentally choosing the wrong shade. You may select a shade that matches your hand or your arm or just the wrong color altogether, resulting in mask-face (you know, when your face is a completely different color than your neck). So let's get down to business; where do you start?
