Queen Elizabeth II Is the Only Female Royal to Have Ever Done This

Queen Elizabeth II may have a lot of royal duties as the monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but before becoming queen, she helped served her country in a different way. During World War II, the then-Princess Elizabeth joined the Women's Auxiliary Territorial Service in 1945. As "Second Subaltern Elizabeth Alexander Mary Windsor," she ditched her traditional garb while she trained as a mechanic and driver and was eventually promoted to honorary junior commander five months later. Not only does her previous position make her the only female member of the royal family to have entered the armed forces, but she also currently stands as the only living head of state to have served in World War II. Pretty impressive! It looks like military men Prince William and Prince Harry take after their grandmother.

How to Deal When Your Little One Is Obsessed With Your Makeup

It probably started with the YouTube tutorials she watches - little girls experimenting with eye shadow and lip gloss and grown women turning themselves into Disney princesses and villains. Then my 5-year-old daughter discovered that a couple of her slightly older friends (we're talking second graders) had their own makeup sets full of powders and creams in every color of the rainbow.

She was hooked and wanted more, and the only place to get it? My makeup drawer.

I realize that little girls being intrigued by makeup is not exactly a new thing. I remember aggressively pushing my mom's blue eye shadow into my own lids in the mid-80s and being scolded because I had forgotten to roll down her new tube of lipstick before putting the cap on, smashing the contents into an unusable mess. I remember loving Halloween, not for the candy but because it was the one day a year my mom would allow me to put on a full face of makeup, inspiring me to pick boring, totally cosmetics-driven costumes like bride and hippie.

What I did not realize as an underage makeup neophyte was that my mom's reluctance to let me wear her lipstick and eyeliner was only partially because I was in freaking grade school, but also because makeup is expensive, and my forays into her cosmetics bag usually meant the destruction of one of more products.

I recently learned that lesson the hard way, when my daughter and some of her little girlfriends, the daughters of one of my close friends from college, locked themselves in my bathroom and went to town on every eye shadow they could find. Realizing it was way too quiet, we went upstairs to survey the damage, which I expected to involve a lot of clothes (doll- and regular-girl-size) strewn all over my daughter's room. Instead, after we convinced the little terrors to open the door, we discovered my bathroom covered in shades of brown, black, silver, and purple, with broken palettes everywhere and three little girls who were in serious need of a make-under.

"I'm so sorry," my friend sighed. "They destroyed almost $1,000 of my makeup a few weeks ago." At first, I wondered why this friend, who at the time wasn't wearing anything more than what I could only assume was a pretty pricey moisturizer, had that much makeup. Then I started doing the math of replacing every shadow, mascara, beauty tool, and lip gloss in my makeup bag and vanity, and it didn't take long to get to a grand.

My daughter, after discovering the sweet taste of makeup, became a little lip gloss and blush-stealing ninja.

Luckily, they hadn't found my good stuff, instead destroying a few drugstore palettes I'd purchased to create those dramatic smoky eyes I now rarely had a reason to attempt. We cleaned up, talked to the girls about both respecting other people's things and their own faces, and moved on. But my daughter, after discovering the sweet taste of makeup (like, there's no way she didn't taste it; it was caked all over her mouth), became a little lip gloss and blush-stealing ninja. And sending her to kindergarten with hot pink lips just isn't an option. A set of rules had to be established.

Here's how I handled it. First, I let her have her own makeup stash in the form of a few of my long-retired, light pink lip glosses. She gets to keep them in her room and wear them whenever she wants, at home only. They've held a place of honor in a little cup right by her bed ever since.

Second, following the old "they'll want what they can't have even more" rule, I told her she's occasionally allowed to wear a little blush and neutral-colored eye shadow, but only when I apply it for her. If she breaks these rules, her makeup games are over. After all, she's only 5, and my cosmetics budget just isn't big enough for the both of us.

The 11 Backhanded Compliments That All Moms Are Seriously Sick of Hearing

One of the many valuable lessons of motherhood: just because it was said with a smile and a sweet delivery doesn't necessarily make it nice. On a daily basis, many moms endure oozing drool, crazy schedules, and sleepless nights. Yet despite all of the struggles, it's the "kind" words from strangers that do more damage than a blowout diaper ever could. These 11 backhanded compliments might be said with an angelic smile, but there's a deeper meaning that's just plain rude - and many mamas are sick of hearing them!

What This Devastated Mom Wishes She'd Known Before a Friendly Dog Attacked Her Son

On Christmas Eve, two dogs that seemed friendly mauled Tracy Dowdy's child. Since that viscous attack, this devoted mom is sharing their story in the hopes that other parents will learn from her family's tragedy as her son recovers from his full-body injuries.

In a blog post describing the harrowing ordeal, Tracy says that Ethan was simply playing in his grandma's yard before the incident. She explained that her 7-year-old grew up running through the grass, climbing from the old oak tree, and playing with the neighbor's dogs, but knowing these pit bulls wasn't enough to keep her child safe.

"I want to begin by saying I've always been a 'dog person.' It is not my intention to instill undue fear through the sharing of my family's story, as I'm very much aware of the joy pets can add to a home," Tracy wrote. "It is, however, my hope that our experience will inspire parents and dog owners to exercise great caution when kids and dogs mix - no matter how well you know the dog or how comfortable the child is around dogs."

On this night, Ethan was playing by hanging from his knees and swinging from a tree branch when the dogs he's known his entire life grabbed him by the jacket. "[They] dragged him over the fence, where they attacked him, biting his face, neck and body," Tracy wrote. "A mom knows that haunting sound; the kind of wail that clearly says 'this is not just a scrape,' and sends a chill up your spine."

By the time Tracy and her husband made it over to their child, they discovered that he was at the mercy of the dogs. "My husband says I didn't just climb the fence, I cleared it. My maternal instinct kicked in, and I had to get my boy back," she described. "Our sweet boy was bloodied, with one ear hanging off and the other gone. His body was covered in bite marks, and he was in and out of consciousness."

Ethan received more 300 stitches and surgeons were able to reattach his left ear. However, they had to sew his right ear into his belly with the hope that new tissue necessary for future reattachment will grow.

As her son continues to recover physically and mentally as he battles panic attacks, night terrors, and anxiety from this traumatic event, Tracy is asking that all parents learn from her child's experience. "I encourage you to read these tips, remember our story, and share this with the parents and dog owners in your life," she pleaded.

Here are some of Tracy's tips on preventing a dog attack:

  • Parents should supervise all interactions between children and dogs.
  • Babies, toddlers, and young children should never be left alone with a dog.
  • Parents should educate their children on how to behave around dogs. Never approach a dog you don't know, even if the dog is on a leash.
  • If you are attacked, give the dog an object, such as a jacket or tote to bite.
  • If you are knocked down, roll yourself into a ball and lie still. Cover your head and face with your hands.
  • Never scream at or run from a dog.
  • Do not disturb a dog that is eating, sleeping, or tending to puppies.
  • If a bite occurs, the child should be seen by a doctor, no matter how minor the injury.

Turns Out, the Queen Is Technically a Binge-Drinker

We've gotten to learn quite a lot about Queen Elizabeth II over the course of her 90 years, but this latest fact is especially fascinating to us. According to Esquire UK, the monarch is a pretty impressive day drinker, so much so that by UK government standards she's technically a binge-drinker (same, to be honest).

She gets started right before lunch, enjoying a gin and Dubonnet (a wine-based liqueur) with lemon and lots of ice, then a glass of wine with her meal. A few hours later, she has a dry martini, followed by a glass of Champagne in the evening (there are eight different Champagne producers at the palace including Bollinger, Krug, Lanson, and Pol Roger, which was also served at William and Kate's wedding).

Now, size-wise, Elizabeth's intake is the equivalent of six drinks per day and 42 drinks per week (assuming she doesn't go crazy on the weekends), though the Queen's government recommends 14 drinks a week as a healthy measure of alcohol consumption. What can she say? She has a monarchy to run.

This Donald Trump-Inspired Beauty DIY Will Make Your Face Great Again

Donald Trump is making headlines in the beauty world, but this time, it's not because of his hair. In case his presidency has caused you to cover your eyes and ears (and frankly, we don't blame you), you might not have observed Trump's signature look. He has heavily bronzed skin that's more tangelo than tan, with fair eyelids that make him look like he wears goggles when his glam squad applies makeup.

The nuances of his beauty routine did not go unnoticed by Tess Paras, who took to YouTube to invent a new makeup technique called "Trumping." Though we don't expect this trend to be as popular as color correcting, it's worth knowing about!

The first part of Trumping is finding a superpale foundation. Paras chose to use a concealer shade that she called "Veiled White Supremacy" and went on to spackle her eyes and lips for a dehydrated appearance. The star clarified that you'll know you got your makeup right when your mouth looks like a "chapped anus."

We love a good beauty hack at POPSUGAR - we've used glue to declog pores and tape to guide our contour - but Paras really got crafty in the name of Trumping. Turns out, the secret to this look is in your pantry. She aggressively crushed up a bag of Cheetos, reducing the snack to a finely milled powder, then generously patted it all over her bronzed complexion.

This isn't the most realistic makeup to rock every day (after all, could you imagine being attacked by pigeons every morning because of your Cheeto face?), but we definitely expect that people will give it a try in the name of satire. Watch and prepare to crack up as Paras breaks down every step of the president-elect's signature look.

Amal Clooney Grabs Dinner With Her Mom After Giving a Speech About War Crimes

Amal Clooney was all business when she arrived at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, in London on Wednesday. After delivering her speech, Amal met up with her mom, Baria Alamuddin, at Villandry restaurant for dinner.

Amal's meeting at Chatham House comes on the heels of husband George Clooney's appearance at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Tuesday. There is nothing I can do to help but make tea and stuff," he said. The only thing George should be worried about? Deciding on names for the twins, since Amal wasn't thrilled with the idea of naming them Casa and Amigos, though we can't say we blame her.

Chris Evans Calls Jenny Slate His "Favorite Human" After Their Breakup

Despite their recent split, Chris Evans and Jenny Slate have nothing but nice things to say about each other. Chris recently talked about his admiration for his Gifted costar in a new interview with People, calling Jenny "my favorite human." "She's the best. I've never ever ever met someone in my life who has a mastery of the English language the way she does. She'll give you one sentence and there's no fat to it. You're like, 'You just chose such an unbelievable collection of words that beautifully articulate what you say,'" he continued. "It's like an art form talking with her, because the visuals associated with her expression are just so colorful. She's so vulnerable, so honest, so interested in other people more than herself, she's incredibly compassionate, there's just nothing to not love about her."

Chris and Jenny first met during their audition for Gifted, and they instantly connected. They dated for almost a year but eventually called it quits in late January. During a recent interview with Vulture, the actress dished on their breakup, saying, "I'd love to be his friend one day, but we threw down pretty hard."

11 Things I Wish I'd Known Before I Got Invisalign

I'm 26 years old, and for years, every time I see a celebrity or a person crack open a mouth full of perfectly straight teeth, I can't help but feel envious and a little upset that my teeth don't look that way. Even after braces, my teeth have never been flawless. I'm plagued with an open bite. This means 20 out of 24 of my teeth have significant space between them, even when I bite down. A decade ago, orthodontists told me I would have to get a second round of braces and jaw surgery to fully correct the situation. I put it off for years, because worse than crooked teeth was the thought of having surgery and braces (again)!

However, this year, my orthodontist recommended an alternative treatment, Invisalign, that had a good chance of straightening my teeth and correcting my bite without surgery. Unlike braces, which use metal wires and brackets to straighten teeth, Invisalign moves teeth with a series of custom-made aligners (aka retainers) made from clear plastic, so they are far less noticeable than braces. I jumped on board right away, but I didn't do as much research as I probably should have. Though I'm only a month into my Invisalign program - and am really happy with the results so far! - here are some of the things I wish I'd known before I took the plunge.

  1. You might receive more attachments than you are expecting. Recent Invisalign procedures may include attachments, or enamel-colored ridges that stick to your teeth like braces brackets. These attachments click into the Invisalign aligners to help the teeth move more effectively. Without the aligners in, the attachment bumps are virtually invisible. But with the aligners in, it looks like you have clear braces. My orthodontist warned me that I would have two attachments, but I ended up with 20. So, most of the day, I look like I'm wearing braces.
  2. Recommended wear time is 22 hours. I don't know what I was thinking . . . I guess I figured I could leave the aligners at home when going to a party or out to dinner. But nope. I keep them in unless I'm eating, and I don't leave home without packing an aligner case along with a travel-size toothbrush.
  3. You may lose weight. Since the wear time is 22 hours, that leaves two hours to eat three meals a day. It's pretty ambitious, but I do my best to, because it really beats trying to pry the aligners off my teeth more than necessary. The aligners are supertight and especially hard to remove if teeth are sore. While you can always take the aligners out for snacks, I've found it's a pain to remove the aligners and rebrush the teeth more than three times a day. Despite my attempts to pack in the calories at each meal (I'll have a smoothie, omelet, and yogurt for breakfast, etc.), I still am hungry all the time. I lost a little weight my first month, but I've returned to my normal weight after introducing a protein smoothie to every meal.
  4. Kiss lipstick goodbye. Colored lip gloss and lipsticks are a thing of the past. They easily stick to the aligners and the attachments. Clear lip balm and gloss are OK, but they can sometimes leave a waxy residue on the aligners. These days, I'm all about applying dramatic eye makeup to draw attention away from my mouth.
  1. No more manicures. The aligners are nearly impossible to remove without the help of your nails, so unless you're OK with chipped nails, stick to buffing your digits over painting them.
  2. Kissing is awkward. Yep, there is no avoiding the giant plastic device all up and around your mouth, and it's definitely a mojo quencher. Some people on the Internet claim Invisalign killed their love life, but I think that's a little extreme. It helps to have a significant other who is cool with your retainer mouth. It also helps to try to factor in some of those freebie minutes with your lover.
  3. You'll brush your teeth a dozen times a day. All right, maybe more like six, but it feels like a dozen. Plaque and food particles can get in the way of the teeth moving plus can lead to some seriously stanky breath and cavities. As a result, it's best to brush your teeth after eating anything. I use three different types of toothpaste and toothbrushes, since I have to stash them at home, at work, and in my purse. At home, I use Nimbus, a supersoft toothbrush, with Tom's of Maine Whole Care Toothpaste. At work, I use more aggressive products to get the teeth superclean and minty: Oral-B Pro-Health All-in-One Toothbrush (it's like a massage chair for your teeth and gums) and Arm & Hammer Advance White Toothpaste. Lastly, for my purse, I have a crummy, generic travel-size toothbrush (it gets the job done) with a travel-size version of Colgate Optic White Toothpaste. I floss with Oral-B Glide. I don't use mouthwash - the sweet residue sticks inside the aligners, and if it's blue, it could potentially stain the teeth.
  4. The attachments stain really easily. I have seen it so many times - my coffee- and tea-drinking friends who didn't stick to a regimented tooth brushing habit ended up staining their attachments. The practically invisible composite begins to look like orange corn kernel pieces stuck all over their teeth. Yuck! As a result, every cup of coffee or tea must be immediately followed by a teethbrushing.
  1. Cold water only. That being said, while wearing Invisalign, you can only drink cold water and maybe some clear sparkling water. Hot tea will stain and warp the aligners. Sugary and alcoholic drinks will lead to plaque buildup. I even attempted to test the waters with a glass of white wine, and it stained the aligners immediately. Darn!
  2. Whitening is not an option. Especially if you have attachments in place, whitening is not an option until the Invisalign treatment is complete. However, brushing your teeth often and avoiding stain-causing beverages will perk up your enamel a bit.
  3. There's a "refinement period." I thought I'd be done after 40 trays, until my sister said, "Oh no, honey. After that, you'll have a set of refinement aligners to fix any stubborn teeth." So basically, after the initial set of aligners are complete, Invisalign will create another set of refinement aligners to correct any slightly off teeth. Ugh, so my treatment has no foreseeable end in sight.

Despite all the cons, I'm committed to seeing the treatment out, even if it takes a few years. I've already noticed a difference in my bite (I can chew with six molars now! Woo!), and my teeth have definitely started to straighten. I've gotten over being self-conscious about my Invisalign, and I smile bigger than ever, even with the aligners in. At the end of the day, I know I'm taking action toward having the perfect teeth I've always envied, and that feels like it's worth the sacrifices.

Here's What Rihanna Eats, According to Her Personal Chef

Have you ever wondered what pop stars eat and who actually cooks for them? Bon Appétit recently interviewed Debbie Solomon, personal chef of Rihanna, and asked her everything from how she landed the job to the diverse foods she makes for the pop star. The Jamaican-born chef cooks for the singer on tour, at home, for parties, and for everything in between. Chef Solomon said Rihanna is "a moody eater" and craves specific foods every day, so she doesn't plan weekly menus and cooks on the fly. Rihanna eats "every protein that you can think of" along with "vegetables, rice, and pasta." Though you'd think Rihanna might eat rabbit food, the dishes Solomon has prepared for her look otherwise! "There shouldn't be shame in eating food . . . I won't waste my calories on bullsh*t," Solomon told Bon Appétit. 15 Bags That Were on Every Early-'00s Girl's Wishlist

We love a good throwback, even more so if it makes us cringe a little and ask (sometimes out loud), "Did we really wear that?" Which is exactly how we feel looking back at the bags from the early 2000s in all their monogrammed, brightly colored, buckle-embellished glory.

Many ladies who lived through the aughts remember needing that heart-decorated Dooney & Bourke or lusting after a Dior Saddle bag. They were pretty much the Mansur Gavriels of their time.

But perhaps even better than the designs are the then-It girls who wore them: Lindsay Lohan, Mischa Barton, and even Paris Hilton were the ones who really sold them for us. Take a read through the gallery and see all the styles we had to have, some of which are actually pretty cute, but most of which are still so 2006.

The Reason This Woman Has "Decided" to Stay Pregnant For 260 Weeks

Lauren has been pregnant since 2012 . . . with the same baby, because she can't afford to take time off work from her job that doesn't have paid leave . . . so she's just decided to stay pregnant until she racks up enough vacation days to have a baby.

OK, so Lauren's case is impossible, but the message behind her it-would-be-funny-if-it-weren't-true situation is applicable to many moms (and dads) all over the US who don't receive paid leave. This video from the National Partnership For Women and Families seeks to bring light to this issue with a touch of humor and a whole load of truth bombs.

"It's absurd that most US workers - 86 percent - don't have paid family leave through their employers," the caption on the video reads. "And only some are lucky enough to live in the four states that have paid family and medical leave laws. But we can change this." The organization offered a course of action on its website: "Ask your members of Congress to watch the video and then stand up for a robust national paid family and medical leave program."

Do it for yourself. Do it for Lauren.

People Are Waiting in Line For Hours to Get Flamin' Hot Cheetos Elote

Whether you're a huge fan of Mexican food or you just occasionally like to indulge in some chips and guac, there's something about elote that makes regular corn just taste too *regular*. Between the delicious cream, cheesy flair, and unique spices, it's safe to say that once you go elote you never go back. Well, our favorite Mexican side just got an upgrade and we're not sure elote will ever be the same. Cobs have been covered in Flamin' Hot Cheetos dust, been topped with creamy sauce, and, most definitely, blown our minds.

Swirl Fiesta, located in Riverside, CA, is actually a frozen yogurt store, but its segue as a Mexican snack shop has instantly taken off thanks to this creative elote. In addition to the Flamin' Hot Cheetos flavor, the shop offers original elote, Dorielote (Doritos-flavored), Takielote (Takis-flavored), and Tostielote (Tostitos-flavored). If your taste buds are tingling like ours are, you better act fast! Swirl Fiesta has become so popular that reviews on Yelp claim that people are waiting up to two hours for this next-level corn. Keep reading to see photos of this flavored elote, that is, if you can handle the flame. `

Remember When Prince William Was a Superhot Teen Idol?

Want to feel old? If you were born in the '80s, you probably remember pining over Prince William, who's now 34, while you were growing up. Just like Justin Timberlake or Andrew Keegan, William dominated the covers of teenybopper magazines, frequently putting his blue eyes and full head of floppy blond hair on display. In fact, William usually stole the show during outings with his younger brother, Prince Harry (well, not every time). Since William has been in most of our lives for quite some time now, we will always have a soft spot for the prince. Being a doting dad and loving husband definitely looks good on him, but we'll never forget his heartthrob days. Let's look back on them now!

If This Is True, American Horror Story's New Season Is Going to Be Wild

The seventh season of American Horror Story is already shaping up to be the wildest season ever. Creator Ryan Murphy thrown us all for a loop by revealing an "election" theme for the installment, and now we have some crazy theories from the cast (plus a few theories of our own). At this year's AHS panel as part of the annual Paleyfest in LA, things got even weirder.

During the panel, AHS co-creator Tim Minear revealed how they came up with part of the plot for the season more than a year ago, during the preliminary planning stages of Roanoke. "At the beginning of every season, in order to secure the tax benefit, you have to give a synopsis of what you're doing," Minear explained. "That was not okay with Ryan [Murphy], but we had to give them something, so we made up this completely batsh*t thing for those two paragraphs. And the funny thing is, we're doing it this year."

So we've got a crazy "batsh*t" plot, tons of bonkers theories, and Sarah Paulson wants to play Donald Trump. Chances are we can't even begin preparing for what the season will hold.

Is Jessica Lange Ever Coming Back to American Horror Story? What We Know

American Horror Story has established its own little group of actors who keep appearing on various seasons of the anthology, but there's one original member of the group we haven't seen in a while: Jessica Lange. Lange anchored the first four seasons of American Horror Story, but after Freak Show, Lange said she was "done" with the series in 2015, and creator Ryan Murphy later explained that she took a year off of the show to do a play. Of course, it's now been two seasons and two years since Lange appeared, so what gives? With the next season, Election, in the works, we want to know more than ever whether Lange is ever coming back to the series.

Lange and Murphy have given conflicting interviews about Lange's possible return. In an interview with Charlie Rose in 2016, Lange seemed to close the door on American Horror Story. When asked if she'd ever come back, she replied, "No. I think, you know, I had four years with that, four seasons, and each year was a marvelous character. Everything changed from one year to another which made it very interesting for me. But no. I think sometimes you come to the end of something." Months earlier, Murphy had insisted that Lange would be back, saying, "She'll be back - she's not gone forever . . . She wants to come back, we just have to come up with something."

Lange is currently starring on another of Murphy's shows, Feud, so it's clear the two are still on good collaborating terms. And even if Lange doesn't want a role in the cast of the head-scratchingly-themed Election season, Lange has a lot of chances to come back - American Horror Story has been renewed until season nine.

This Walking Dead Theory Explains the 1 Thing You Never Realized Was a Problem

There have been a lot of devastating moments on The Walking Dead, and the fact that most of them are related to death shouldn't come as a surprise. What is a little perplexing, though, is how many of these deaths seem to be almost accidental. Have you ever wondered how the walkers manage to sneak up on so many unsuspecting victims? We've seen it tons of times: so-and-so is out in the forest when suddenly a walker is gnawing at their neck. Walkers are noisy and constantly making that awful raspy moaning sound. So how is this possible?

As luck would have it, one very ponderous Reddit user has offered a pretty plausible answer: all the characters are partially, if not completely, deaf. According to the theory that breaks it down, there's a pretty obvious cause.

In The Walking Dead, walkers can get so close unnoticed because the main characters are all suffering from a large amount of hearing loss from repeatedly firing off guns without hearing protection. Rick went mostly deaf in that tank in Atlanta, everyone else had a similar experience off camera. Now they don't even flinch when a gun goes off, they're all deafer than f*ck, stomping through the woods, yelling at each other constantly. That's why they keep attracting walkers; they have no clue how loud they're being.

Other Reddit users were quick to weigh in, noting how detrimental gunshots can be to the ears, especially in jail cells and other confined spaces. So there you have it!

The Walking Dead: What Happens After the War Is Even More Brutal

The Walking Dead is finally approaching a storyline known to fans of the comic books as "All Out War." It's been a long time coming; the entirety of season seven has been dedicated to setting up the battle between Negan's Saviors and Rick's scrappy army. We're more than ready to see the bloodshed . . . but what comes after? The Saviors are some of the biggest, baddest villains the series has ever seen, so how will season eight (and beyond) be able to top them? We can't know for sure what the future holds, but we can read ahead in the books to see what happens once - spoiler alert! - Rick defeats Negan.

"All Out War" is a huge deal. It takes up two whole volumes in the book series - that's 12 issues. The next volume is titled "A New Beginning," and it jumps ahead to two years after the war. Rick's people have completely rebuilt Alexandria, and Negan is living in the basement of one of the houses, still being held prisoner by Rick. Negan and Carl have forged an unusual friendship, but Carl still maintains that he hates Negan. Carl leaves Alexandria and heads to the Hilltop (where Maggie is the leader) to become a blacksmith's apprentice.

A new enemy emerges: The Whisperers. They're a savage people who wear the carcasses of zombies as a method of survival. Jesus manages to capture Lydia, a 16-year-old member of the group who eventually strikes up a friendship with Carl. Lydia takes Carl's virginity and licks his empty eye socket in a comic panel that will never cease to disgust me.

The leader of the Whisperers, Alpha, shows up at the Hilltop to collect Lydia (her daughter), and Carl goes with them. Days later, when Rick finally finds him, Carl refuses to go with him, telling his dad that he wants to stay and protect Lydia. Lydia breaks down about how she's been raped and Alpha is so offended by her weakness that she tells Lydia to go with Rick. When they return to camp, they see that the Whisperers have secretly beheaded several people, leaving their heads on spikes in Alexandria. Rosita and Ezekiel are among the dead.

Meanwhile, Gregory (still sh*tty) tries to poison Maggie. Jesus witnesses it, and they end up hanging Gregory in a tree.

And that's the next major storyline! Again, we have no idea if the show will follow the books, but given how closely they've stuck to the blueprint in the comics, it's very likely.

These Were the Top 5 Plastic Surgery Procedures of 2016 - Are You Surprised?

With the influx of Instagram filters and face-smoothing applications, it should come as no surprise that with all that pressure across social media, there were a LOT of plastic surgery procedures performed in 2016. According to data released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there were almost 1.8 million cosmetic surgeries performed last year, with a heavy focus on fillers and facelifts. There's also a growing trend of fat transfers for patients.

The top five most popular cosmetic surgical procedures included:

  1. Breast augmentation (290,467 procedures, up 4 percent from 2015)
  2. Liposuction (235,237 procedures, up 6 percent from 2015)
  3. Nose reshaping (223,018 procedures, up 2 percent from 2015)
  4. Eyelid surgery (209,020 procedures, up 2 percent from 2015)
  5. Facelifts (131,106 procedures, up 4 percent from 2015)

The report shows there were also 15.5 million cosmetic minimally invasive procedures in 2016, with the top five including:

  1. Botulinum Toxin Type A (i.e. Botox and Dysport) (7 million procedures, up 4 percent from 2015)
  2. Soft tissue fillers (2.6 million procedures, up 2 percent from 2015)
  3. Chemical peel (1.36 million procedures, up 4 percent since 2015)
  4. Laser hair removal (1.1 million procedures, down 1 percent from 2015)
  5. Microdermabrasion (775,000 procedures, down 3 percent from 2015)

In addition to the increase in fat transfer procedures, labiaplasty surgery has increased by 39 percent since the year before. Yup - that's when the surgeon "rejuvenates the labia by lifting and/or injecting fat or filler into the area."

Dr. Debra Johnson, President of the ASPS, explained that the areas of surgery have changed a lot over the years, including down under.

"As cosmetic procedures become more common we are seeing more diversity in the areas of the body that patients are choosing to address," she said. "A decade ago plastic surgeons might have seen a patient every seven to 10 years when they needed a major procedure like a facelift or tummy tuck. Now patients have ongoing relationships with their plastic surgeons and feel more comfortable discussing all areas of their body that they may be interested in rejuvenating."

Gordon Ramsay Reveals the 1 Place You Should Never Eat

Sure, Gordon Ramsay has high standards, but is there really anything he would never eat? Turns out it's more of a place where he would never eat rather than one specific food - and that's on a plane. In an interview with Refinery29, Gordon revealed his feelings about airplane food and why those feelings might be justified. "There's no f*cking way I eat on planes," he said. "I worked for airlines for 10 years, so I know where this food's been and where it goes, and how long it took before it got on board." Yikes. The man has a point - there's no denying that airplane food is not the best.

So what's a traveler to do to avoid midflight hunger, according to the world-renowned chef? If you're like him, you'll make time to stop at a nice Italian restaurant for a little meat and cheese. "A nice selection of Italian meats, a little glass of red wine, some sliced apples or pears with some parmesan cheese," Gordon says of his ideal airport snack.

Alternatively, of course, you could eat at Gordon Ramsay's very own Plane Food, a restaurant in Terminal 5 of the London Heathrow Airport. There, you'll find truffle mac and cheese, Szechuan squid, and spicy tuna tartare . . . certainly nothing that's reheated in convection ovens on an airplane.
