Why a Flight Attendant Asked a Mom With a Screaming Baby to Move
One mom was pretty much living the fear of every parent who has ever traveled alone with kids on a recent Southwest flight. She was with her two young girls when according to a neighbor sitting nearby, her baby burst into a major meltdown. No matter what the mom did, she just couldn't console her baby or put an end to the "very loud" crying fit.
Carrie Jaboor was seated behind the mom and watched as an airline employee walked up to the mom and asked calmly asked her to come to the back of the plane. However when she turned around, the exchange was the complete opposite of what she expected. "I looked back and saw him blowing bubbles for the little girl until she stopped crying as he was also giving tissues to the mother and consoling her as she was crying too," Carrie shared with the Love What Matters Facebook page. "There are some seriously kind people in this world."
Although some could have been more than a bit annoyed by the child's crying, this kind flight attendant didn't blame the mom and instead showed compassion to both the parent and her child.
Yes, Donald Trump Actually Just Blamed Obama For the Syrian Chemical Attack
Donald Trump exploited the latest human rights atrocity in Syria as an opportunity to take a jab at his predecessor, Barack Obama, in a statement that is likely to incense you.
On April 4, Syrian civilians were reportedly subjected to a brutal sarin chemical attack in the Idlib region of the country. According to reports from The Guardian, at least 60 people died after warplanes dropped the toxic chemical over the province; at least 100 more were injured. Though the Syrian government denied responsibility, human rights groups and politicians were quick to place blame with President Bashar al-Assad, who is reasonably suspected to be responsible. This would be a war crime of the most punishable degree, and it would not be the first time Assad has been accused of attacking his own people with chemical weapons.
After reports of the attack circulated in the international press and across the internet, the White House really had no choice but to respond - but the way in which it did is downright galling.
An incredible written statement from a sitting US president http://pic.twitter.com/lFDTANyDCT
- Jon Passantino (@passantino) April 4, 2017
Not only does Trump attempt to blame his predecessor, President Obama, for the chemical attack and the lives it cost, but he also demonstrates an utter lack of consciousness and responsibility for America's own role in civilian casualties in the Middle East.
"Today's chemical attack in Syria against innocent people, including women and children, is reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world," Trump's statement reads. "These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration's weakness and irresolution. President Obama said in 2012 that he wold establish a 'red line' against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing."
Since Trump took office - admittedly following Obama's blueprint for airstrikes in the region and recently heightening operations - America's military has reportedly been responsible for the killings of hundreds of people in Iraq, which borders Syria, in airstrikes. Just a few weeks ago, an American-led drone strike allegedly killed 200 civilians. Trump also authorized widely criticized raids in Yemen which resulted in civilian deaths. One assault of note killed 30 innocent Yemenis inside their homes and a Navy SEAL whose death has been described as "avoidable."
This all makes Trump's repudiation of Assad and blaming of Obama downright offensive. His statement on Assad's alleged attack appears less like a condemnation and more like an exploitation of innocent lives lost to attain the upper hand in a political feud.

The ABCs of Oil Pulling: What Is It and Should You Try It?
Over the last few days, we've been talking nonstop about the latest detox phenomenon called oil pulling, the act of swishing oil around your mouth. Now, gargling with oil may sound unappealing, but it has been an Ayurvedic practice since ancient times. It's said that oil pulling can do everything from whiten teeth to cure eczema. On the fence about trying it? Read the facts below to see if it's the right treatment for you!
What Is It?
The process is simple. Swish a spoonful of oil (coconut, sunflower, or sesame are most popular) in your mouth for 10 to 20 minutes. Then spit it out in the trash - not down the toilet or in the sink because that will only up your plumbing bill.
How It Works
"People swear by it - that it can fill cavities, relieve toothaches, whiten teeth, freshen breath, absorb harmful bacteria, and cure the common cold," said Dr. Jessica Emery, DMD of Sugar Fix Dental Loft Chicago. "From a dentist's perspective, tooth decay is caused by bacteria and studies suggest that coconut oil treated with enzymes seems to inhibit the growth of certain bacteria." Some would also claim that it fixes acne and brightens complexions.
So in layman's terms, the oil actually pulls germs and bacteria from your gums (and we found one study to back up this up claim). Overall the process is about removing the toxins from the mouth before they can travel to other parts of the body.
Should You Try It?
There is substantial evidence that oil pulling could improve your oral health, and it's a great DIY solution if you run out of mouthwash (be it a bit slimy). But as far as the claims that it's a cure-all, we're going to take our cue from Dr. Weil, who wrote, "Bottom line: Oil pulling won't hurt you, but I wouldn't depend on it to help you improve your overall health or treat significant medical problems."
This Is What Celeste's Monterey Apartment in Big Little Lies Would Cost IRL
If you tuned into the finale of Big Little Lies, you might've been surprised by how nice Celeste's secret two-bedroom apartment was. Sure, it paled in comparison to the multi-million dollar modern waterfront mansion she shared with husband Perry – but it was still way nicer than the average digs. We found ourselves coveting its light-filled rooms, stunning ocean views, beachfront location, and charming living room complete with fireplace. We even wondered if this Monterey hideaway was within reach of a normal person's budget, and to find out we found a strikingly similar apartment available for sale right now.
The charming property is located in a gated community directly on the sand (one of only two complexes in Monterey with this type of direct waterfront location) and offers two-bedrooms and two-baths spread out over 1,083 square-feet of space. It's currently being sold for - wait for it - $825,000. That's more than double the February 2017 average cost of a new home in the US. While it's a bargain compared to the seaside palaces characters like Renata and Madeline lived in, it's still very expensive.
Turns out, the Big Little Lies lifestyle is pricey no matter how you slice it. Keep reading to check out the beautiful property ahead.

Pregnant Mom Gets Real About Sex When You Feel "Beach Whaled AF"
Considering that she already has two kids, Mel Watt is familiar with "pregnant intimacy." However, that doesn't mean this expecting mom from Australia feels like a sexy mama ready for some action during her third trimester.
"You know there are some women who thrive when they're pregnant," she wrote on Facebook. "They love a bit of loving from the big D and then there's people like me."
Mel got real about the fact that even though she and her husband do try and she puts in an honest effort, she isn't able to embrace it and thrive in the bedroom during her pregnancy. "I'm going to be the best sex goddess ever when pregnant, I said. Well here I am. Beach whaled AF," she wrote.
Instead of keeping her struggle to herself, Mel decided to open up and list all of the reasons sex can be less than ideal when you have a baby on board, according to all the things she is now, during her pregnancy:
"Sweaty.
Wearing a liner - not because I'm that kind of wet.
I have a rash on my stomach from stretching skin.
My breasts are weapons; they'll knock anyone out.
Heavy breathing.
My last shaving job was a touch and feel job.
I'm filled with 10 fingers, 10 toes and all sorts of body parts that stick out."
And yet, despite all of these reasons that have Mel feeling less than enticing, her husband still happily calls her beautiful and sexy - which makes the situation that much more confusing for her. "Like what is wrong with this man? I'm at my worst. I'm leaking, I stink, I moan and groan, I'm hairy, and I reckon I'd have more sweat under my titties than he'd have in his gooch on the hottest Summer's day," she wrote. "And he still wants me."
Whether or not her husband is attracted to his wife because she's pregnant or is just an amazing, caring, and doting partner of an "overly emotional, stretched pregnant wife," Mel knows that at 30 weeks pregnant, she's lucky to have him by her side.

The 1 Makeup Tip That Totally Changed My Beauty Routine
Listen, I don't want to sound too over-the-top about this, but I'm honestly not sure how I lived before I embraced makeup-setting spray. A refreshing mist? A full face of makeup that actually lasts? The product's promises seemed too good to be true. (Spoiler alert: they weren't.)
It all started when I learned that I'd be doing my own makeup as a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding. I've cried during literally every wedding ceremony I've ever attended, so I panicked at the thought of standing at the sunny altar beside my best friend, mascara and concealer dripping down my face, all runny makeup and bloodshot raccoon eyes. Not helping matters at all? I was also pregnant, which meant I was perpetually hot (see: red, sweaty forehead) and even more emotional than usual. Yikes.
Enter our beauty editors, who recommended a few waterproof eyeliners and suggested that I try a setting spray. Until then, I'd only used setting sprays on a handful of occasions, once when I had my makeup done plus a few times in college when a friend shared her spray before going out. I'd thought of it as a product for "real" beauty girls - people who used foundation and highlighter and who knew how to apply liquid eyeliner. I am not one of those people, and with my simpler routine, setting spray didn't feel worth it.
My turn as a pregnant bridesmaid felt like the right time to try it, though - I was going to need all the help I could get - so I combed through our list of the best setting sprays to find one that might suit me. I have incredibly sensitive skin that became even more sensitive during pregnancy, so after reading some reviews and checking ingredient lists, I purchased Urban Decay's All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($31), which is free of oils and parabens.
Here's where I tell you that I don't typically get makeup-related compliments. I'm a concealer, mascara, and simple eyeliner kind of girl, and by the end of the day, my eyeliner is slightly smudged and the concealer has usually faded.
But damn if my makeup didn't stay put (and somehow look brighter?) during that wedding. It gave me a glowy look that usually escapes me thanks to my powder bronzer, and I didn't need to reapply mascara or eyeliner like I typically do. Even after hours in the sun and on the dance floor, plus a handful of tears during the ceremony, my drugstore makeup held up. It felt like a true pregnancy miracle.
The real miracle worker at play, of course, was the setting spray, which I now use nearly every weekend. A daytime BBQ? Sweat isn't a problem. All-night dance party? I leave looking almost the same as when I arrived.
So, OK, it may not change your life, but it will definitely up your makeup game.
This YouTuber Gave the Realest Response to a Fan About Her "Natural" Beauty
As much as we love scrolling through Instagram browsing all the product reveals, skin care shelfies, and beauty inspiration, we admit that it can get a little bit overwhelming sometimes. Seeing the absolutely flawless faces of influencers can get disheartening on days when you just don't feel or look your best. They seem to never suffer from breakouts or unmanageable hair, but instead are apparently genetically blessed (or masters of filters).
Beauty influencer Gina Shkeda recently showed off one such selfie of herself tucked in bed. She had no makeup on, but was positively stunning (see above). Fan and Twitter user @_Pajdelamah reacted to the gorgeous image by tweeting, "If I could wake up as beautiful as @GinaShkeda I'd be the happiest girl alive #naturalbeauty."
We - and much of Twitter - were blown away by Gina's funny and truthful response. "Girl I have micro bladed brows, lash extensions in and lip injections," she told @_Pajdelamah. "I don't even look like this." She added, "You're flawless."
It is so refreshing to see an influencer be honest about their cosmetic enhancements, especially in such a cavalier way. We applaud Gina for her sincerity and hope that more beauty stars follow suit.

Toddler Shuts Down a Cashier Who Told Her to Pick Out a "Different" Doll
After Sophia successfully pooped on the potty for an entire month, she was allowed to pick out a special prize. Not surprising to her parents, Brandi and Nick, Sophia wanted a new doll.
As her mom explained, "the obsession is real" when it comes to dolls for this little girl, but a cashier at the store threatened to ruin her excitement - simply because of the color of her new toy's skin. While Sophia and Brandi were checking out, the employee asked the toddler if she was going to a birthday party. Both the mom and daughter gave the woman a blank stare. She then asked if Sophia picked the doll out for a friend.
"Sophia continued to stare blankly and I let the cashier know that she was a prize for Sophia being fully potty trained," Brandi shared on the Love What Matters Facebook page. "The woman gave me a puzzled look and turned to Sophia and asked, 'Are you sure this is the doll you want, honey?'"
Sophia found her voice and replied, "Yes, please!" but the woman still didn't back down. "But she doesn't look like you. We have lots of other dolls that look more like you," the cashier said, according to Brandi.
Brandi immediately became angry, but before she could say anything, Sophia began explaining all of the ways she and her new doll are alike. "Yes, she does. She's a doctor like I'm a doctor. And I'm a pretty girl and she's a pretty girl. See her pretty hair? And see her stethoscope?" Sophia told the stranger.
The cashier finally dropped the conversation, but the unexpected exchange had a lasting impact on this mom. "This experience just confirmed my belief that we aren't born with the idea that color matters," she wrote. "Skin comes in different colors just like hair and eyes, and every shade is beautiful."
How This 1 Natural Luxury Hair Care Line Is Empowering Global Women
The making of Kérastase's new natural range took blood, sweat, tears, and countless trials, but when you boil down the science of the formula, it all started with just two nuts: coconut and argan. (OK, technically a coconut is a stone fruit, but it's pretty similar.) Individually, these delicious ingredients produce outstanding oils that have been used in hair care for centuries. What's new in 2017? The Kérastase pros have brought them together in the perfect balance and blend, creating what is personally my dream hair care line. Meet Aura Botanica, a recently launched four-part range from Kérastase that's 96 percent natural.
This is unheard of for luxury hair care. Last year, we struggled to write a story about natural hair brands to recommend for readers. While there are countless skin, makeup, and even nail ranges made of organic, sustainable ingredients, the same can't be said for hair products. There is a big hole in the market but a high demand for it. People are getting smarter about what they put in and on their body, with "clean beauty" being a buzzword.
So the fact that a giant, upscale brand like Kérastase (which is owned by L'Oréal) took on the challenge of creating natural beauty products that actually work is a BFD. The range includes a shampoo, conditioner, treatment serum, and oil spray. The mission of these products is to make hair healthier, glossier, and frizz-free. Now you may be wondering: Is it actually natural? Is it really better for the environment? And does it work?
I have answers. Not only did I travel to Agadir, Morocco (where the ingredients are sourced), and Paris (where the packaging is done), but I've also been testing the formulas in diverse climates (both air-drying and using in tandem with hot tools). I can confirm Aura Botanica delivers the results it promises and has found a home in my stash.
Follow me on this journey across the globe and back to my shower to see why Aura Botanica is worth all the hype.
13 Wedding-Worthy John Legend Songs That Aren't "All of Me"
When John Legend's international hit "All of Me" was released in 2015, it quickly became one of the most popular (read: overplayed) wedding songs of that year. There's no surprise as to why: the lyrics, which were inspired by and written for Legend's wife, Chrissy Teigen, are romantic without being sappy and would soften the blackest of hearts. Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" also topped the list of favorite reception songs, but much like Sheeran, Legend actually has a handful of other sweet, sentimental tunes that are perfect for playing during any part of your big day.

Yes, You Definitely Know Who Plays Alex in 13 Reasons Why
13 Reasons Why has slowly taken over our lives, and we've been trying to figure out where we've seen all the cast members before. Some actors, like Brandon Flynn (aka Justin Foley), are just breaking into the industry. Others, like Dylan Minnette (aka Clay Jensen), have been appearing in shows and movies for years. The guy who plays Alex falls into the latter category; his name is Miles Heizer, and he's been acting since 2005, when he appeared on CSI: Miami. That's (probably) not why you know him, though. Heizer starred for six years on NBC's ensemble drama Parenthood. He played Drew Holt, the shy son of Sarah Braverman (Lauren Graham).

If you didn't immediately recognize him, the blond dye job may have thrown you off! In addition to small TV roles, Heizer was in the 2016 film adaptation Nerve alongside Emma Roberts and Dave Franco.

3 Methods For Making Matcha
Land a Higher Salary by Pivoting This 1 Crucial Interview Question
"So, what's your current salary?"
This is a tricky interview question that might even make you blush. In theory, it's meant to get a sense for whether or not your salary expectations are aligned with the salary for the open role, but it almost feels somehow . . . intimate. And the problem with this kind of question is that it doesn't account for the fact that the new role might be more demanding or otherwise warrant a higher salary than the interviewee's current one. Also, it can sentence you to staying within your same old pay bracket - even if you deserve to make more. This is exactly how the wage gap is perpetuated.
In a recent Forbes piece, career coach Lelia Gowland revealed how one woman made a small adjustment to the salary discussion during her interview and succeeded in landing a salary that was 30 percent higher than her current one. How did she do it? By pivoting the question around to what she would like to earn in the new role, rather than revealing the meager amount she was making. In her article, Gowland continued:
"If the HR manager continued to push for her salary history, Sasha could act like a political candidate and pivot to the question she wish they'd asked. If it came up, she planned to say, 'Based on my experience, the city, size of company, and type of work, I'm seeking a salary range of XYZ.' . . . Sasha planned to reference being underpaid directly and say: 'I accepted my current salary in part because the company provides extensive other benefits like stipends for my car, cell phone, etc. At this point in my career, I'm only considering positions in the range of XYZ.' . . . Because Sasha recognized her nervousness and practiced (out loud!), she was able to successfully avoid the salary history question completely. Each time she was asked later in the interview process, she pivoted to the more relevant question: what salary she was seeking."
So, in summary:
- Do your research. Find out the average salary range for the new role so you'll know how to steer salary negotiations.
- Pivot the question. If the question of how much you make arises, gently redirect it so that you're discussing how much you'd like to make in the role - not how much you're making today.
- Practice! Face it, salary questions are going to be uncomfortable. Practicing your answers to these questions can make it more likely that you won't be overcome with jitters and back out of advocating for yourself.

All the Times We've Seen Chelsea Handler's Boobs - So Far
Chelsea Handler has basically been living in a topless version of Green Eggs and Ham - much like Sam I Am, she'll go topless on a house, with a mouse, in a box, or near a fox (and even at the top of the Twitter offices). The comic and former Chelsea Lately host has been challenging Instagram's nudity guidelines by posting photos and videos of herself sans shirt over the past two years, and though she has come under fire for the racy snaps (a few of them caused her account to be suspended), there's really nothing that will stop the notoriously outspoken star from baring her boobs on social media.
However you feel about Chelsea, her brand of comedy, or her breasts, you have to admit that her topless photos are way more funny than they are scandalous - seriously, standing on top of a snow-covered mountain with no shirt on? Is it really that much more outrageous than Kim Kardashian posing on a snow-covered mountain in a fur bikini? We've rounded up all the times that Chelsea has flashed boob at us - keep reading to see the NSFW photos now.

Starbucks Unveils the Cutest Matcha Snack We've Ever Seen - but There's a Catch
There's something about matcha that no matter what form it's in, it's always both aesthetically pleasing and delicious. Add in the magic of Starbucks, and that's when we start drooling. The adorable, pint-size packages come in three variations, each with a unique inspirational quote: "Each day is a gift," "It's time to start!," and "Make someone's day." It's unknown how long the matcha pudding will be available or if it will make its way to other countries, but for now, we'll just swoon at the adorable cups on Instagram and stick with the Starbucks Matcha Pink Drink in the United States.

Here's How The Walking Dead Brings Shiva to Life
When it comes to the season finale of The Walking Dead, there was one scene that almost certainly had every fan cheering wildly. At a pivotal point, Negan is just about to beat Carl to death with Lucille, when King Ezekiel's tiger companion Shiva shows up out of nowhere and mauls a Savior in broad daylight. It only gets more badass from there as she makes her way around Alexandria, dispatching enemies. With such a triumphant moment, we couldn't help but wonder what went into creating the big feline lifesaver. As luck would have it, AMC has shared a few behind-the-scenes glimpses at the magic. Needless to say, it's a little funny.
There's a stuntman in a blue morphsuit who the visual effects team turns into Shiva in postproduction. At least, that's exactly what happened for the finale. A person wore a blue suit and leaped around attacking actors. But what's the point of describing it to you when we could just show you these revelatory pictures?
At this point, you might be wondering how this gentleman got so much air for that initial lunge. After all, Shiva appears to soar into frame like some sort of tiger superhero that has decided to do away with the whole supersuit thing. Well, we have an answer for that too: a springboard. If you look to the right side of the GIF, you can even see the stand-in for Carl kneeling in the grass and the stand-in for Negan pretending to swing a bat.
So, there you have it. It's unclear if we're seeing a man in a morphsuit every single time we see Shiva, mostly because it seemed especially appropriate for this specific situation. It's possible the same effect is created with blue tennis balls and such in the tiger's more docile and stagnant scenes. We'll just go ahead and leave that up to your imagination.
5 Reasons the It Remake Will Be Even Scarier This Time Around
The It remake is coming. We might only have a handful of details about the film and it might months away, but somewhere off in the distance, Pennywise the Clown lurks. Between the literary masterpiece that Stephen King published in 1986 and the miniseries adaptation from 1990, the It remake has a lot stacked against it. Now that we've seen the first official trailer, though, our hopes are sky high. You might say they float. Given that the new iteration seems to hew closely to the original book, we're examining how will the newest iteration will stack against both predecessors. How will it compare to the novel and the indomitable Tim Curry?
- The updated Pennywise is creepier than ever. In August, Entertainment Weekly gave us a full look at the new Pennywise. He's obscured by shadow and looks like a darker, more sinister version of the demonic clown. There's a sense of foreboding that the original Pennywise lacks.
- It has potential to be much more loyal to the book. When you consider the fact that the adaptation is being split into two parts - one with our main group of heroes as kids and one with them as adults - it only means that there's more time to tell the story. The book itself has a lot of heft to it, so this decision allows the filmmakers to dig deeper into the the complexities of plot.
- The remake's director has some serious horror chops. Andrés Muschietti directed 2013's Mama, starring Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. If you've seen it, you'll know that film's central monster, the "Mama" herself, is the stuff of nightmares. If Muschietti can inject even half of that creepiness into Pennywise, we're in for a wild ride.
- That infamous haunted house lives up to its reputation. If you've read the It novel, you'll know the house at 29 Neibolt Street is the setting for one of the story's most horrifying sequences. Last year, Director Andrés Muschietti's Instagram post confirmed that the house had been built, and we even got a sneak in the first trailer. We don't want to give too much away, but know that some of your worst nightmares are about to come to life.
- Today's technology might make for more terrifying monsters. Computer-generated imagery (and even practical effects, for that matter) have achieved all-new highs in the 21st century. If you're not aware, the monster is some sort of ancient, shape-shifting demonic entity, meaning the demented clown is not his only form. You can't even begin to imagine the forms he might take. When you think about how many leaps and bounds the film industry has made in the last 25 years, it's not hard to see how Pennywise will be more blood-curdling than ever.
Are you excited now? The It remake hits theaters on Sept. 8, 2017.
Craving McDonald's Discontinued Szechuan Sauce? Here's How to Make Your Own
Following a condiment-centric episode of cult-favorite adult cartoon Rick and Morty, countless fans have been demanding that McDonald's bring back its discontinued Szechuan dipping sauce. Available for a limited time surrounding the release of Disney's Mulan in 1998, the sauce apparently has a massive following, and they want their sauce, dammit. So one YouTuber is giving the people what they're asking for: a DIY Szechuan sauce recipe.
After all, it's not just Rick and Morty fans who crave the sauce . . . some passionate nugget-lovers have been demanding its return for years.
HEY! @McDonalds IT'S BEEN 15 YEARS! PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK THE SZECHUAN SAUCE YOU INTRODUCED IN PROMOTION OF @DISNEY 'S #MULAN ! THANKS!

You'll Want to Get Your Hands on Reese's Entire New Easter Collection
This Spring has been an insane season for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Consumers chose Mini Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs as their favorite Easter candy this year (beating out Peeps!), and the world is in a frenzy to get its hands on Reese's Crunchy Cookie Cups (stuffed with Oreo-like cookies). And that's not all. Reese's has released the following new products for its Easter line: Gold Eggs (Target exclusive), Peanut Butter Crème Eggs (Walmart Exclusive), and White Crème Peanut Butter Eggs.
The Gold Eggs and Crème Eggs both contain milk chocolate and peanut butter crème; the difference lies in the size and the shape. The Gold Eggs are a half egg and bite-sized, whereas the Crème Eggs resemble a slightly larger Cadbury Creme Egg. The White Crème Peanut Butter Eggs are a similar size to the standard Reese's cup but rather oval, "egg-shaped" with a white-chocolate-esque shell around the coveted peanut butter cup filling. Yes, Reese's has given us plenty of reasons to dive headfirst into a bag of peanut buttery bliss.
So THIS Is Why Sir Ian McKellen Didn't Play Dumbledore in Harry Potter
In fan circles, it is often speculated why Sir Ian McKellen never took up the mantle - or, in this case, half-moon glasses - of Albus Dumbledore after the death of original actor Richard Harris. And while there have been answers to this age-old question circulating on Reddit and fan blogs for years, McKellen recently addressed the question in an interview with BBC.
In the interview, McKellen alluded to the fact that Harris once famously characterized several other British actors (including McKellen) as "technically brilliant, but passionless." So, when he was unofficially asked to take on the role of Dumbledore after Harris's passing, McKellen felt it would be inappropriate:
"When he died - he played Dumbledore of course, the wizard . . . But when they called me up and they said would I be interested in being in the Harry Potter films, they didn't say what part. I worked out what they were thinking and I couldn't. I couldn't take over the part from an actor who I'd known didn't approve of me."
While McKellen joked in the same interview that he played the "real wizard" as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, it certainly seems that this move was an act of artistic respect for Harris. Plus, it worked out for us all in the end; McKellen delivered a truly memorable role as Gandalf, and Michael Gambon won hearts as the replacement Dumbledore. No matter what he thought of McKellen in life, we're positive that Harris would approve of the actor's decision.

There's 1 Clear Difference in Jennifer Lopez's Style This Year
Jennifer Lopez isn't wasting any time - she's hitting every red carpet and stepping out to run errands in outfits worthy of your attention.
We're only a few days into the year, and she's already giving us plenty to think about. For example, has her style gotten more demure? No, seriously, is this the year J Lo chooses high necklines and classic items like pussy-bow blouses instead of lots of cleavage? Only time will tell, but it looks like so far the singer, actress, and producer is switching things up and keeping us on our toes. Scroll ahead to see her best outfits this year so far.
1 Upcoming Riverdale Moment Had the Cast "Sweating and Hyperventilating"
It's normal to have major reactions to Riverdale, whether it's squealing with delight over your favorite romantic pairing or, let's be honest, swooning over the attractive lead actor. But for the cast of the show, one moment from a future episode had them "sweating and hyperventilating," and it has nothing to do with romance.
POPSUGAR caught up with several cast members in the WonderCon pressroom, and after Cole Sprouse told us that we'll soon learn the identity of Jason Blossom's killer, we were dying (get it?) to know the cast's reaction to the murderer's big reveal.
"There are breadcrumbs that we're all seeing along the way"
Luckily, the actresses behind Riverdale's most dramatic moms - Mädchen Amick (who plays Alice Cooper) and Marisol Nichols (who plays Hermione Lodge) - were willing to spill about their colleagues' collective response to the shocking plot twist. When POPSUGAR asked them what their reactions were to discovering the killer, Amick and Nichols were quick to express their shock about the character's identity.
"I can tell you that when we - all of us - found out who the killer was, we had to go back and reread the script just to follow all the twists and turns," Nichols said about the big moment.
Nodding excitedly, Amick chimed in: "Because there are breadcrumbs that we're all seeing along the way that are very cleverly placed, so when it finally is revealed, you're like, 'OHHH, wow!'"
"It's me, it's me, they're killing me off the show!"
The pair also admits that, until shooting rolled around, the cast had their own theories about who dunnit. "We as the cast, when we would go through the table read, we would leave and immediately go: 'I know who killed Jason!'" shared Amick, adding: "And we would discuss it and say, 'No, there's no way because of this,' so we were just as engaged I think as the audience is as well."
So, what about their reaction to the actual killer? According to Amick, it was a dramatic scene at the cast's table read: "When we read the script that had the killer in it, we weren't given the script before; it was a cold read, so we were all like sweating and hyperventilating!" And that collective reaction wasn't solely sparked by the drama of the reveal, either . . . each actor was worried about their own employment on Riverdale! "We all thought: 'It's me, it's me, they're killing me off the show!'" spilled Nichols, Amick nodding in agreement.
Well, with that sort of visceral reaction from the cast, we can't wait to finally find out who the killer is. It's only a matter of time!
Whataburger Releases a Coffee Milkshake For Warm-Weather Caffeination
I have traveled far and wide and had milkshakes across both costs, and none rival those of Texas-based Whataburger, which just announced today that it is releasing a coffee milkshake for afternoon pick-me-ups. The superthick texture (you almost can't suck the milkshake through the straw), the sweet vanilla taste, and the salty finish make it impossible to deny yourself a Whataburger shake when it comes time to order. It's one of those menu items you definitely can't split and certainly can't waste a drop of. That's why I know the new coffee flavor is bound to be perfection.
Watching This Baby Experience Rain For the First Time Is Beyond Adorable
Seeing a baby react with ecstatic glee to otherwise banal things - bubbles, dandelions, even twins - often makes us appreciate them with a fresh perspective. Yes, bubbles are delicate little miracles! Dandelions are much more than just some annoying weeds! Twins are magic!
And after seeing this little one experience rainfall for the first time, we've got a newfound appreciation for stormy weather.
The toddler first watches it all unfold from inside the garage, but as his playful dad inches closer to the driveway, he gets giddier and giddier until he sprints, with him squealing in his arms, out into the elements. They do a little happy dance, run back in, and clearly never look at those rain drops the same way again. He actually gives nature a round of applause.
So, the next time a little scattered shower ruins your plans, just remember this little guy's face and give the rainy weather a slow clap in his honor.
