Queen Elizabeth II's Royal Job Description and the Duties Being Passed On to Her Family Members
Queen Elizabeth II's full title is monarch of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the The Church of England, and Head of The Armed Forces - but what does she actually do day to day? And as the most recent addition to the royal family, what is the Duchess of Cambridge's job description? Now that the queen has recently marked her 90th birthday, will other members of her family be taking over any of her duties - and more specifically, will any of her workload be passed on to Kate? We break it all down here!
4 Most Common Causes of Belly Bloat (and 4 Cures!)
It's normal to feel bloated after a huge bowl of spicy chili or after eating three pieces of birthday cake, but if you're constantly feeling bloated every single day and are feeling extremely uncomfortable and depressed about it, we asked certified dietitian Leslie Langevin, MS, RD, CD, of Whole Health Nutrition to explain the most common causes of belly bloat so you can stop the cycle and feel better.
Guzzling
Eating too fast makes us swallow air, and since air that goes in has to come out, you'll end up feeling bloated. Slow down and focus on really chewing each bite thoroughly before swallowing. Also ditch carbonated beverages since these cause you to ingest air, and go for water instead since this can actually prevent bloating. Overeating falls into this category as well. If every meal involves you eating until you feel grossly stuffed, you're not only consuming extra calories that will lead to weight gain, but your digestive system can't handle the load, so it retaliates. Focus on eating until you're 80 percent full to avoid that sick, bloated feeling.
Surprising Foods
We know dairy products, beans, spicy or fried foods, broccoli, onions, cabbage, gluten for some, high-fat foods, and high-fiber fruits like apples and pears can cause that bloated feeling, but so can sugar and sugar alcohols. Try avoiding sugar substitutes, white and brown sugar, and even natural sugars like honey and maple syrup to see if you notice a difference. Sugar alcohols found in processed foods are also culprits so be a label reader so you can avoid xylitol, sorbitol, and mannitol. Companies also try to increase the fiber in their products, labeled on the list of ingredients as chicory root or inulin. They can cause digestive upset so you might want to ditch those foods as well.
Not Enough Roughage
Constipation is another cause of feeling bloated, so to keep things moving along, be sure to get 25 to 30 grams of fiber each day, including fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, and flaxmeal if you need a little extra help. Drink lots of water throughout the day and set aside 10 to 15 minutes to sit and do your business.
Bacteria Imbalance
Probiotics are good-for-you bacteria that live in our bodies, and if there is an increase of negative bacteria, that can cause digestive upset as well. Leslie recommends "adding a probiotic with good bacteria like bifidobacterium or lactobacillus to help reduce the gas your own gut produces." You can take supplements, drink probiotic beverages, eat fermented foods like kimchi, or down some yogurt (go for unsweetened), or there are even foods like granola or protein powder that contain probiotics.

Um, Kevin Bacon's Daughter Is in 13 Reasons Why
If you've already binge-watched Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, then chances are you've also probably been obsessing over the stellar cast. The heartbreaking, honest, and beautiful adaptation of Jay Asher's bestselling novel features mostly unknown faces, but there are still a few surprises. While you probably recognize Dylan Minnette (Clay Jensen), there's also a Hollywood legacy who is a student at Liberty High School: Skye. Yep, the tattooed barista at Monet's is played by Sosie Bacon, aka the 25-year-old daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick. Her character is definitely one of our favorites, and since the show's ending was basically set up for a second season, we're hoping we get to see a lot more of Sosie on the small screen.

The 1 Makeup Tip That Totally Changed My Beauty Routine
Listen, I don't want to sound too over-the-top about this, but I'm honestly not sure how I lived before I embraced makeup-setting spray. A refreshing mist? A full face of makeup that actually lasts? The product's promises seemed too good to be true. (Spoiler alert: they weren't.)
It all started when I learned that I'd be doing my own makeup as a bridesmaid in my best friend's wedding. I've cried during literally every wedding ceremony I've ever attended, so I panicked at the thought of standing at the sunny altar beside my best friend, mascara and concealer dripping down my face, all runny makeup and bloodshot raccoon eyes. Not helping matters at all? I was also pregnant, which meant I was perpetually hot (see: red, sweaty forehead) and even more emotional than usual. Yikes.
Enter our beauty editors, who recommended a few waterproof eyeliners and suggested that I try a setting spray. Until then, I'd only used setting sprays on a handful of occasions, once when I had my makeup done plus a few times in college when a friend shared her spray before going out. I'd thought of it as a product for "real" beauty girls - people who used foundation and highlighter and who knew how to apply liquid eyeliner. I am not one of those people, and with my simpler routine, setting spray didn't feel worth it.
My turn as a pregnant bridesmaid felt like the right time to try it, though - I was going to need all the help I could get - so I combed through our list of the best setting sprays to find one that might suit me. I have incredibly sensitive skin that became even more sensitive during pregnancy, so after reading some reviews and checking ingredient lists, I purchased Urban Decay's All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($31), which is free of oils and parabens.
Here's where I tell you that I don't typically get makeup-related compliments. I'm a concealer, mascara, and simple eyeliner kind of girl, and by the end of the day, my eyeliner is slightly smudged and the concealer has usually faded.
But damn if my makeup didn't stay put (and somehow look brighter?) during that wedding. It gave me a glowy look that usually escapes me thanks to my powder bronzer, and I didn't need to reapply mascara or eyeliner like I typically do. Even after hours in the sun and on the dance floor, plus a handful of tears during the ceremony, my drugstore makeup held up. It felt like a true pregnancy miracle.
The real miracle worker at play, of course, was the setting spray, which I now use nearly every weekend. A daytime BBQ? Sweat isn't a problem. All-night dance party? I leave looking almost the same as when I arrived.
So, OK, it may not change your life, but it will definitely up your makeup game.

Pierce Brosnan and Wife Keely Flaunt Their 23-Year Romance on the Red Carpet
Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith have been together for 23 years (and married for 16), but the longtime couple could still pass as a pair of love-struck teenagers. While walking the red carpet on Monday for Pierce's upcoming show, AMC's The Son, they only had eyes for each other. Photographers snapped away as they giggled, shared a few cheek kisses, and basically looked like they were in their own little world.
In a 2013 interview, Pierce credited meeting Keely after the loss of his first wife, Cassandra Harris, as a life-changing moment for him. "She is the most beautiful woman and someone who has been my North Star for many a day and a year now," he said. "We met when I was like Philip, adrift. I'd lost my wife and been a widower for three years. Keely is the backbone of our family, of my life, and I tell her that I love her every day. I tell her that she's beautiful and I couldn't have done it without her." Pierce, 63, and Keely, 53, met all the way back in 1994 and have two sons together, Dylan and Paris.
An HGTV Star Reveals the 6 Upgrades That Will Make Your Bathroom Feel Like a Spa
If pampering yourself is high on your list of priorities (and if it isn't, it should be), a luxurious bathroom is exactly what you need. In Scott McGillivray's latest Reno to Reveal project - follow along on social media using #Reno2Reveal - he turns a small basement bathroom into a spa-like retreat fit for a king or queen. Read exactly how he did it below.
And if you want even more inspiration, check out our Snapchat story today to see how we transformed our bath into a sanctuary!
Curbless Glass Shower Enclosure
"If you want your bathroom to feel more open, there's one sure-fire way to do it. Install a glass shower enclosure. It's way more luxurious than a shower curtain, and it removes the visual obstruction," said Scott. "In addition, I also designed the shower to be curbless, which has a significant impact. It opens up the sight lines and, when combined with the frameless glass, makes this small room feel huge."
Makeshift Steam Shower
"Within the glass shower enclosure, I added a special feature. The glass goes all the way to the ceiling and has a vent at the top that can be opened and closed. So if you feel like indulging in a steam shower, you can close the vent and allow steam to gather, and when you want a regular shower, you can open it up and allow the steam to escape," Scott explained. "Steam generators can be very pricey, but this solution allows you to get a similar experience at a fraction of the price." And don't forget that if you're creating a steam shower, you'll want to tile the ceiling so it's properly waterproofed.
Shower Bench
"No decent steam shower can be without a bench," said Scott. "To up the luxury factor, I installed a custom bench directly in the shower and tiled it to match the rest of the space. While you can bring in another type of waterproof bench, nothing looks as good as a custom built-in unit." Scott also added a built-in tile niche to hold toiletries, such as shampoo and soap.
Handheld and Rain Shower Head Options
"This bathroom is all about indulgence so I added both rain and handheld shower options. Rain showers provide full coverage when you stand underneath, so every inch of you gets to enjoy the sensation. It would be silly to have a spa bathroom and not include one. But that said, sometimes you need to wash and go so I included the handheld option for the ultimate in convenience," said Scott.
Heated Floors
No luxurious space is complete without heated floors! Scott explained, "the worst thing would be to step out of a great steam shower only to put your feet down on an icy floor. While heated floors can be expensive to install in an existing room, it's well worth considering when you're going through a renovation."
Vanity Storage
"Nothing kills serenity like clutter," declared Scott. "To avoid the problem of bottles, jars, and toothbrush holders taking over the space, I installed a large vanity with plenty of storage. Above it I hung a nice big mirror that reflects light along with two hanging pendants." As a pro tip, Scott added that you should never install lights over a mirror in a bathroom because it will cast unflattering shadows on the face.

Kate Hudson Makes a Splash With Her Boys During a Beach Day in Hawaii
Kate Hudson showed off her toned figure while hitting the beach in Hawaii on Tuesday. The actress sported a printed bikini for her day in the sun with sons Ryder Robinson and Bingham Bellamy on the island of Oahu and wasn't afraid to splash around and play catch with her boys in the water. Here's How The Walking Dead Brings Shiva to Life
When it comes to the season finale of The Walking Dead, there was one scene that almost certainly had every fan cheering wildly. At a pivotal point, Negan is just about to beat Carl to death with Lucille, when King Ezekiel's tiger companion Shiva shows up out of nowhere and mauls a Savior in broad daylight. It only gets more badass from there as she makes her way around Alexandria, dispatching enemies. With such a triumphant moment, we couldn't help but wonder what went into creating the big feline lifesaver. As luck would have it, AMC has shared a few behind-the-scenes glimpses at the magic. Needless to say, it's a little funny.
There's a stuntman in a blue morphsuit who the visual effects team turns into Shiva in postproduction. At least, that's exactly what happened for the finale. A person wore a blue suit and leaped around attacking actors. But what's the point of describing it to you when we could just show you these revelatory pictures?
At this point, you might be wondering how this gentleman got so much air for that initial lunge. After all, Shiva appears to soar into frame like some sort of tiger superhero that has decided to do away with the whole supersuit thing. Well, we have an answer for that too: a springboard. If you look to the right side of the GIF, you can even see the stand-in for Carl kneeling in the grass and the stand-in for Negan pretending to swing a bat.
So, there you have it. It's unclear if we're seeing a man in a morphsuit every single time we see Shiva, mostly because it seemed especially appropriate for this specific situation. It's possible the same effect is created with blue tennis balls and such in the tiger's more docile and stagnant scenes. We'll just go ahead and leave that up to your imagination.
1 Female Legislator's "White Male" Comment Sent These White Males Spinning
When Minnesota House members met to discuss a bill regarding harsh penalties for protesters that block major roads, Melissa Hortman, the Democratic-Farmer-Labor minority leader, noticed that some of her colleagues were missing. During the meeting, Democratic state Rep. Ilhan Omar gave a speech about the bill. She explained that if these harsh penalties were in order, movements like Black Lives Matter would not exist, but Hortman wasn't satisfied with lack of legislators on the floor.
Hortman pointed out that not only were her male colleagues not present to hear Omar's speech, but they also missed other amazing speeches made by women opposing the bill because they were in the retiring room . . . and she did not hold back with these thoughts. "I hate to break up the 100 percent white male card game in the retiring room, but I think this is an important debate," Hortman said.
As expected, her comment did not sit well with some of the male legislators, especially Republican Rep. Bob Dettmer. "I'm a white male," he said. "I respect everybody. But I really believe the comments that were made by the minority leader were really not appropriate. Minority leader, would you apologize to the body?" Hortman refused to back down.
"I have no intention of apologizing," Hortman said. "I am so tired of watching Rep. Susan Allen give an amazing speech, Rep. Peggy Flanagan give an amazing speech; watching Rep. Jamie Becker-Finn give an amazing speech, Rep. Rena Moran give the most heartfelt, incredible speech I've heard on this House floor as long as I can remember; watching Rep. Ilhan Omar give an amazing speech, and looking around to see where are my colleagues?"
She added: "And I went in the retiring room and I saw where a bunch of my colleagues were, and I'm really tired of watching women of color, in particular, being ignored. So, I'm not sorry." If we were there, this would be the moment we burst out into applause.
But Dettmer was not alone in feeling offended by Hortman's statement during the meeting. Republican Rep. Greg Davids told a local Minnesota publication that he believes she should resign for her "racist" comment. "I was greatly offended by Hortman's racist statement about white males," he told the Post-Bulletin. "I believe her comments have created a very hostile working environment."
Watch the video above to see how the House members handled Hortman's comment about sexism in the courtroom.
Kerry Washington Reveals the 1 Way Playing Olivia Pope Has Made Her Life Worse
Kerry Washington is one of Hollywood's most private celebrities, but that's never stopped her from speaking out on important issues. While chatting with Paola Mendoza, the artistic director of the Women's March, for Glamour's May cover story, the actress was forthright about how Americans need to "stay awake" amid a government hell-bent on banning Muslims and taking away a woman's right to choose (the ever-growing list of offenses goes on, and on, and on . . . ). The Scandal star and mother of two also touches on how playing Olivia Pope has irrevocably changed her life, and not entirely for the better.

Wentworth Miller's Mental Health Struggles Made Him "Stronger as an Artist"
There are plenty of questions surrounding the return of Prison Break more than seven years later, so when Wentworth Miller sat down with POPSUGAR and other press outlets at WonderCon, the conversation naturally started at the reboot's plot. But when talk turned to how Miller's character, Michael Scofield, has changed as a man, things circled back to the actor's personal experiences.
Miller, who came out as gay in 2013, has publicly addressed his struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts in recent years, combating critics of physical appearance by discussing how mental health struggles affected his weight. When asked whether his advocacy for mental health has affected his approach to his Prison Break character, Miller told reporters:
"It informs my everyday experience and informs me as a performer for sure. I've walked a long road, and I've seen and experienced a lot of things. One of the gifts of being where I am now, where I can talk openly about being queer, about having mental health issues . . . it means that I can walk on set and instead of playing multiple parts, like 'the guy who has it all together' while I'm playing Michael Scofield, I can just focus on Michael Scofield, and it's made me stronger as an artist."
According to Miller, there's no denying that his own experiences and personal growth have affected his Prison Break counterpart, and he's happy about it. "Michael Scofield is in me; he's never going to go away," Miller said. "But I have changed as a man, 10 years older than when we started the original series. So when I put those shoes on, the shoes may be the same, but the man standing in them is different."
His openness is an inspiration, and we can't wait to see the new depth brought to the show through Miller's positive personal growth and newfound happiness in his own skin.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux Look Damn Good Together on the Red Carpet
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux made a striking pair when they attended HBO's season three premiere of The Leftovers in LA on Tuesday night. The couple - who recently rang in Jennifer's 48th birthday in Mexico - held hands and flashed sweet smiles as they walked down the red carpet in their matching black ensembles. Justin's show returns to HBO on April 16, though for some, it's bittersweet as it is also the final season. The third season finds the Garvey family relocating again, this time to Australia, but some of it will also take place in Texas.
Just last week, Justin attended CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where he not only promoted his latest project, The Lego Ninjago Movie, but he also dished on Jennifer's special birthday celebration in Cabo. "We do special things. I did a little night for her birthday where we went to a special dinner and had a piñata," he revealed.
9 Little-Known Facts About Beyoncé and Jay Z's Wedding
Beyoncé and Jay Z are celebrating their ninth wedding anniversary! Before Blue Ivy, Tidal, and Lemonade came along, the music power couple tied the knot in an intimate surprise ceremony on April 4, 2008. While details were initially scarce, both Bey and Jay have since shared bits and pieces about their big day in interviews and on social media. Here are nine things you probably didn't know about their nuptials.
- They kept things close to home. The couple were married at Jay Z's 13,500-square-foot penthouse in the NYC neighborhood of Tribeca. Before the big day, they picked up their marriage licenses in Scarsdale, NY.
- It was a supersmall affair. Only 40 guests were invited to the wedding, including family members and close friends.
- There was no wedding party. Both stars ditched a maid of honor and best man in favor of saying their vows at the altar alone.
- Beyoncé didn't like her dress. Even though it was designed by her mom, Tina Lawson, Beyoncé wasn't crazy in love with her strapless ivory wedding gown. During an interview on the Today show in 2016, Tina called her daughter "so sweet" for letting her spearhead the design and revealed that Beyoncé "came back later one day and she said, 'You know, when my daughter gets married, I'm going to let her pick out her own dress.' Maybe she wasn't so excited about it at the time, but she's a sweetheart."
- There were no phones allowed. Long before celebrity couples instituted a "no social media" rule at their weddings, Beyoncé and Jay Z told their guests to leave their BlackBerrys at home.
- It was a tearjerker. A guest told People that it was "a very emotional wedding - lots of crying - and really very spiritual."
- They spared no expense on the floral arrangements. Beyoncé had 70,000 white dendrobium orchids, her favorite flower, flown in from Thailand.
- They didn't perform. Instead of singing any of their joint hits, Beyoncé and Jay Z got their guests grooving on the dance floor to upbeat songs from Jackson 5 and Whitney Houston.
- "We be all night!" The newlyweds' reception reportedly lasted until 5 a.m. the following day.
11 Things You Didn't Know About Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip's Royal Relationship

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary this year, which is a pretty amazing feat regardless of the fact that they're royalty. Whether you think you know a lot about the couple or are hankering for more details about their decades-long marriage, we've got a handful of facts about the royal couple that might surprise you.
- For starters, they're related. That's right: Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are actually second cousins once removed through King Christian IX of Denmark, and third cousins through their great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. Interestingly enough, Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, in 1840.
- They met when Elizabeth was just a little girl. The future couple were first introduced in 1934, at the wedding of Philip's cousin Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark to Prince George, Duke of Kent (Elizabeth's uncle). At the time, she was just 8 years old. They saw each other again three years later, but it was during a meeting at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth in July 1939 - Elizabeth was 13 and Philip was 18 - that they fell in love and began to exchange letters.
- Elizabeth's dad gave his blessing for their marriage (on one condition). Philip asked King George VI for his daughter's hand in marriage in 1946, and the king granted his permission under the condition that a formal engagement was delayed until Elizabeth turned 21 the following April; both he and his wife, Queen Elizabeth, felt that their daughter was "too young," and were disappointed that she wanted to marry the first man she met.

- Their betrothal came with a bit of controversy. Philip and Elizabeth's engagement was officially announced in July 1947. The British public largely dismissed him as "a German" and the queen mother reportedly referred to him as "the Hun." Many of the king's advisors "did not think him good enough" for Elizabeth; he was foreign-born, didn't have money, and his three sisters all married German princes (some with Nazi ties).
- Philip abandoned his royal titles before marrying Elizabeth. Born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark, Philip renounced those titles in 1957 in an attempt to gain favorable media coverage and blend a bit more seamlessly into his fiancée's family. He took on the style of Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten, adopting the surname of his mother's British family. He also converted from Greek Orthodoxy to Anglicanism.
- Some of their family members were not allowed at the wedding. Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II tied the knot at Westminster Abbey on Nov. 20, 1947. Being that it was just two years after World War II ended, it was not cool for Philip's German family members (including his sisters) to be invited to the wedding. Also not invited was Elizabeth's uncle, the former King Edward VIII, who abdicated the throne in December 1936.
- Elizabeth originally took her husband's name. On the morning of their wedding, Philip was made the Duke of Edinburgh. Upon tying the knot, Elizabeth took Philip's title and became Princess Elizabeth, Duchess of Edinburgh.
- They started a family pretty quickly. Elizabeth gave birth to the couple's first child, Prince Charles, on Nov. 14, 1948, almost a year to the day of their wedding. Their welcomed a daughter, Princess Anne, two years later.

- They didn't always live with their kids. Between 1949 and 1951, Philip was stationed in Malta while serving as a Royal Navy officer. He and Elizabeth lived at Villa Guardamangia, the rented home of his uncle Lord Mountbatten, for several months at a time. Their two young children, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, stayed in Britain.
- Philip was the bearer of bad news upon King George VI's death. When Elizabeth's father passed away after a long illness in 1952, she and Philip had just embarked on a royal tour of Australia and New Zealand with a stop in Kenya. They were at their Kenyan home, Sagana Lodge, when the news of George's death reached them. It was Philip who told Elizabeth that her father had died - and that she was now queen.
- Philip didn't deal well with Elizabeth's rise to power. After King George's death, Philip gave up his career as a naval officer to support his wife's new royal duties and was known to butt heads with the Buckingham Palace staff. There were arguments about whether or not Elizabeth would keep his surname after she took the throne, but both the British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Elizabeth's grandmother, Queen Mary, voted in favor to keep the family name as House of Windsor (rather than House of Mountbatten). This was also likely due to the fact that in the days after George's death, Philip's uncle, Louis "Dickie" Mountbatten, was overheard triumphantly declaring that "the House of Mountbatten now reigned," which understandably angered Queen Mary.
In April 1952, the queen mother issued a declaration that Windsor would continue to be the royal name. Philip, meanwhile, was pissed: he privately complained of being "nothing but a bloody amoeba," and railed against being "the only man in the country not allowed to give his name to his own children." But after both Queen Mary's death in 1953 and Churchill's resignation in 1955, the queen mother reversed the decision, aware of both Philip's frustration and the impending birth of their second son. In 1960, she issued an Order of Council stating that Elizabeth and Philip had adopted the surname Mountbatten-Windsor for their male-line descendants, saying, "The Queen has had this in mind for a long time and it is close to her heart." Their baby boy, Prince Andrew, was born just a week later. Today, it acts as a sort of optional last name for those in the family.
Jared Padalecki's Wife Was in Her Underwear When They First Met
Jared Padalecki and Genevieve Cortese have been married since February 2010 and recently expanded their family of four to include daughter Odette, who was born on St. Patrick's Day. As any Supernatural fan knows, the couple - who are also parents to sons Shepherd and Thomas - first met on the set of the hit show. Genevieve joined the cast as a demon named Ruby in 2009, and Jared was instantly attracted to her. "I was a single dude, and she was a pretty girl in her underwear on her first day on set," he explained during a Supernatural panel back in 2012. "I was very excited to meet her. Meanwhile, I think she was like, 'Who is this long-haired A-hole who thinks he can come talk to me while I'm reading a book?' . . . I interrupted her while she was reading a book and I think she got kind of fussy about it."
After getting to know each other, Jared finally made his move. "I was very attracted to her, and as I got to know her, I was very excited to take her out to lunch." As for why their relationship worked, Jared explained, "What made it work is that we got to know each other for about four months before we went on a date." By 2010, the couple had taken their love off screen, and they "never looked back."

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Netflix Just Announced Some Shocking News
A Series of Unfortunate Events has already been renewed for a second season, but now the UNTHINKABLE has happened: Netflix has ordered a third season. It's not a surprise that the show would come back for season three, but it is very unusual for Netflix to announce its plans so early. The streaming site is working its way through Lemony Snicket's series, devoting two episodes to each individual book. The first season covers The Bad Beginning, The Reptile Room, The Wide Window, and The Miserable Mill, so season two will begin with The Austere Academy, then The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, and The Hostile Hospital. The now-confirmed third season would tell the stories contained in The Carnivorous Carnival, The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril, and, unless this would become its own season or movie, The End (Too Dreadful to Picture).
Ellen DeGeneres Uses a Clown to Scare Eric Stonestreet 1 Week After That It Trailer
Eric Stonestreet just can't catch a break when it comes to stopping by The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The Modern Family actor, who has been scared so many times by the host that she even made a montage of all the best moments, decided to trust Ellen one more time and went for an interview on Tuesday. While his time on stage was safe and calm, Ellen managed to scare him while he was getting ready backstage before the show. After Eric walked into his dressing room, a clown popped out from a coffee table, causing him to clench his fist and say, "F*cker!" Ellen then opened the door to let out a mischievous laugh. While clowns are scary any day of the week, the fact that this happened just one week after that terrifying trailer for It was released just makes it so much worse.
6 Ways to Protect Your Internet Data - Now That Companies Can Sell It
It's official: internet service providers (ISP) can now sell any data collected from what you do on the internet, like your browsing history. On April 3, President Donald Trump signed a new bill that overturns former President Barack Obama's internet privacy rules, but there are some simple ways consumers can try to protect themselves.
Under Obama, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) came up with new regulations, requiring ISPs to ask consumers if they could sell their data. It was supposed to go into effect this December. Instead, a bill overturning this regulation passed both the House and Senate and was signed by President Trump.
This means that no matter who you are and what you do, your browsing history and anything you do on the internet can be sold by ISPs (such as Comcast and Verizon). While some ISPs have promised to offer an opt-out option, chances are they'll do it in a way that's so subtle you might miss it. So, if you're serious about protecting your data, here are six things you can do right now.
- Visit websites that only use HTTPs: An HTTPs connection ensures that everything you're seeing and doing on the internet is encrypted. It also means your ISP can only know the domain you're on. For example, if you visit Facebook, your ISP will only know you're on Facebook.com and not what profile, page, or group you're seeing. So the next time you're visiting a website, look at the URL and check to see if it says HTTP or HTTPS. If it's HTTP, you might want to consider never visiting the site again.
- Download Chrome extensions or other tools to protect yourself: With Micro Snitch, a Mac app, you'll see whether any other app is using your Mac's microphone or camera. Snoopie is a Chrome extension that alerts you if a website uses a "popular tracking service."
- Use a Virtual Private Network (VPN): A VPN works similarly to a HTTPS connection; it encrypts everything you visit online and doesn't let anyone or any company track it back to your IP address. However, it's not guaranteed that a VPN service won't actually keep your data. If you're concerned and want to get into specifics, That One Privacy Site has a massive list of VPNs with information such as whether they log traffic, IP addresses, and more. If you want to know what to look for in a VPN, Lifehacker has some key details to look out for.
- Download Tor: Tor is another web browser that's open source and hides your IP address. However, it does tend to run slower and has had its own issues with spying on users.
- Invest in a password manager: If you're the type to use the same password for everything or write down all your passwords on your computer, please stop. Instead, get a password manager app like 1Password or LastPass. 1Password offers a monthly plan of $3 or a family plan for $5. LastPass has a free option, but you're better off getting the yearly plan for $12. A password manager won't protect your data from ISPs, but it will protect you if hackers steal information your ISP collects.
- Set up two-factor authentication (2FA): Don't let hackers get into your accounts so easily with 2FA. With 2FA, anytime you download an app to your phone or sign into your email on a new computer, you'll enter your password and usually a code that's sent to you via text or email. You can check to see what apps and services offer 2FA here.
If all of this sounds too complicated, the least you can do is visit websites that use HTTPs, use a password manager, and set up two-factor authentication. And of course, keep calling your representatives to protect your data and privacy.

How This 1 Natural Luxury Hair Care Line Is Empowering Global Women
The making of Kérastase's new natural range took blood, sweat, tears, and countless trials, but when you boil down the science of the formula, it all started with just two nuts: coconut and argan. (OK, technically a coconut is a stone fruit, but it's pretty similar.) Individually, these delicious ingredients produce outstanding oils that have been used in hair care for centuries. What's new in 2017? The Kérastase pros have brought them together in the perfect balance and blend, creating what is personally my dream hair care line. Meet Aura Botanica, a recently launched four-part range from Kérastase that's 96 percent natural.
This is unheard of for luxury hair care. Last year, we struggled to write a story about natural hair brands to recommend for readers. While there are countless skin, makeup, and even nail ranges made of organic, sustainable ingredients, the same can't be said for hair products. There is a big hole in the market but a high demand for it. People are getting smarter about what they put in and on their body, with "clean beauty" being a buzzword.
So the fact that a giant, upscale brand like Kérastase (which is owned by L'Oréal) took on the challenge of creating natural beauty products that actually work is a BFD. The range includes a shampoo, conditioner, treatment serum, and oil spray. The mission of these products is to make hair healthier, glossier, and frizz-free. Now you may be wondering: Is it actually natural? Is it really better for the environment? And does it work?
I have answers. Not only did I travel to Agadir, Morocco (where the ingredients are sourced), and Paris (where the packaging is done), but I've also been testing the formulas in diverse climates (both air-drying and using in tandem with hot tools). I can confirm Aura Botanica delivers the results it promises and has found a home in my stash.
Follow me on this journey across the globe and back to my shower to see why Aura Botanica is worth all the hype.
It's Official: Melania Trump Is Redecorating the White House
After seeing how beautifully the Obamas decorated the private White House living quarters with interior designer Michael Smith, it's hard to imagine the space looking any better - but the new residents of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue have just shared their plans to overhaul the space to their personal taste. Melania Trump has hired interior designer Tham Kannalikham, a Laotian-American designer known for having a classical aesthetic and keeping a low profile. A surprising choice considering the Trumps are not known for their subdued taste or their discretion.
In a statement to WWD, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, senior adviser to the first lady said, "Mrs. Trump has a deep appreciation for the historical aspects of the White House and with Tham's traditional design and expertise, they are focusing on a seamless integration of elegance and comfort into where the president, the first lady, and Barron will be spending their family time and calling their home."
While the Trump's New York residence, where Melania and 10-year-old Barron are currently living during the week, is notoriously sheathed in gold, we think the Trumps' presidential quarters will be more toned down. Before heading up her own interior-design company, Tham worked at Ralph Lauren Home, which fits with her reputation as having a traditional and historically influenced style. "I am honored by the opportunity to be working with the first lady to make the White House feel like home," Tham said in a statement.
While Tham's designs are kept tightly under wraps - her website can only be accessed by a client login and her Instagram account is private - we can still hold out hope that Melania will open her doors to the media when the redesign is complete so we can see the changes for ourselves.

13 Reasons Why: This Is the Only Reason Justin Would Look Familiar to You
If you're as obsessed with 13 Reasons Why as we are, you've probably already binge-Googled the entire cast. We've learned that breakout star Katherine Langford is Australian (you can totally hear her accent at times), the guy who plays Jeff is a regular on another Netflix show, and the girl who plays Skye is Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick's daughter. We've also learned that unlike Dylan Minnette, Brandon Flynn (aka Justin Foley) is a relative newcomer to Hollywood. Literally the only reason he would look familiar to you is if you watched the short-lived CBS zombie comedy BrainDead. He appeared on the seventh episode, "The Power of Euphemism: How Torture Became a Matter of Debate in American Politics" as an intern:

While he plays a morally questionable character in 13 Reasons Why, you shouldn't feel guilty about wanting to stalk Flynn on social media. He has an active Instagram account (@flynnagin11) and he has posted a lot of pictures with the cast - particularly Miles Heizer. We'll let you know if he signs on for any new roles in the wake of the hit Netflix series!
Jimmy Fallon and Shaquille O'Neal's Lip Sync Battle Might Be the Most Epic One Yet
To celebrate his special week of shows out of Universal Orlando Resort, Jimmy Fallon decided to bring out the big guns for his latest Lip Sync Battle. Shaquille O'Neal stepped up to the challenge, and the pair's face-off might be the most epic competition yet (only Channing Tatum and Beyoncé have them beat, honestly). Jimmy kicked things off with "Jump Around," but when Shaq started performing Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative," none other than Pitbull appeared. "That's not fair, that's not fair," the late-night host joked. "I got to up my game." Upping his game apparently meant singing John Legend and Ariana Grande's cover of "Beauty and the Beast" (complete with wardrobe changes), before he and Shaq both joined in on a duet of Elton John's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." We told you it was epic!

The 1 Thing You Should Always Bring to the Nail Salon
It's amazing what a great manicure can do for your mood - and what a not-so-great one can do. As someone who's been routinely visiting the nail salon for the better half of my life, there are a few tips and tricks that I've come up with. The best advice I can give anyone (and that I do tell people all the time) is: bring your own topcoat, and make it a good one.
Nail salons don't typically invest in great topcoats. They have so many clients that the business generally can't afford to buy top-notch top layers, given that it's one of the most frequently used products in the place. So even if you've brought in your special-edition Butter London polish, it's not going to last with a dull coat of sub-par top layer slapped on.
As for what to look for when selecting a topcoat, NYC-based nail artist Miss Pop Nails says that it's really a matter of preference. "As a nail artist, I prefer a topcoat that's thick or 'gel'-like because then it is easier to float, which means keeping the brush hairs away from directly stroking and potentially dragging any wet polish," she told us. "But some topcoats, no matter how much you try to float them or let your polish dry, will still cause streaking because of the solvents. It can be such a bummer to paint detailed line work only to have your topcoat muddy the design."
However, there are cases in which solvents (aka acetone or a similar ingredient that aids in dissolving polish) are beneficial. "If you're using an unforgivingly thick old bottle of color, matte polish, or you just plain aren't Picasso when it comes to painting your nails, then solvents can help you smooth your stroke and make your mani look like it was applied by a pro," Miss Pop shared.
Not only is the quality important, you have to make sure it's spread over your entire nail, especially the sides (seriously, be sure the sides are covered) and the tips, to avoid chipping - and yes, according to Miss Pop, quick-dry formulas DO chip faster.
For years, I depended on Sally Hansen's Mega Shine Extended Wear Top Coat ($7). You can pick it up at any drugstore, and it'll give your nails a gel-like finish without the price tag. It really does deliver on the "extended wear" promise, too.
Recently though, our beauty editor suggested I try a cult favorite, Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat ($10). This stuff is heavy duty! I've been doing more at-home manicures lately - I've been in a "I can do my own nails better than anyone else" phase - and by the time I started painting my nails on my right hand, my left hand was almost dry. It's thick and you have to make sure not to put too much on (otherwise it will pool and dry much more slowly), but it's fabulous.
Investing in an outstanding topcoat is a small price to pay for having a manicure that looks shinier and lasts days longer. If you're looking to step up your manicure further, however, Miss Pop recommends starting from the bottom. "I'd argue that base coat is the coat that is really makes your mani last a couple of days longer," she revealed. "You need a strong foundation to build a house, you need a solid base coat layer to start your mani."

Why a Flight Attendant Asked a Mom With a Screaming Baby to Move
One mom was pretty much living the fear of every parent who has ever traveled alone with kids on a recent Southwest flight. She was with her two young girls when according to a neighbor sitting nearby, her baby burst into a major meltdown. No matter what the mom did, she just couldn't console her baby or put an end to the "very loud" crying fit.
Carrie Jaboor was seated behind the mom and watched as an airline employee walked up to the mom and asked calmly asked her to come to the back of the plane. However when she turned around, the exchange was the complete opposite of what she expected. "I looked back and saw him blowing bubbles for the little girl until she stopped crying as he was also giving tissues to the mother and consoling her as she was crying too," Carrie shared with the Love What Matters Facebook page. "There are some seriously kind people in this world."
Although some could have been more than a bit annoyed by the child's crying, this kind flight attendant didn't blame the mom and instead showed compassion to both the parent and her child.

You've Never Seen Anything Like This Italian Villa Where Old Hollywood Used to Let Loose
When it was first constructed in the 1500s, the Villa d'Este on Lake Como served as a resort for ecclesiastical leaders and local politicians. A few renovations and centuries later, the palatial complex hosted glamorous celebrities and was even the site of an infamous murder.
Though the villa started out as a sort of spiritual resort center, it became a private residence in 1815 when Caroline of Brunswick moved in shortly after separating from King George IV. Decades after her death, the villa became a proper hotel open to the public . . . the very wealthy public, that is. During the Golden Age of Hollywood, celebrities like Bette Davis and Clark Gable vacationed there. Alfred Hitchcock was particularly fond of the villa and visited many times throughout his lifetime.
Around this same time, a notorious murder took place inside of the villa. In 1948, Pia Bellentani shot her lover Carlo Sacchi after he had continued to see other women. The murder took place right after a fashion show that was being held at the villa that evening. Despite the grisly incident, the Villa d'Este continued being an aspirational travel destination and still hosts many celebrities and fashion insiders.
A night's stay does not come cheap: a room can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000. According to many reviews on Trip Advisor, however, tourists can still stop by the villa for a lakeside lunch or a walk through the gardens.
Ahead, you'll find pictures of the timeless and over-the-top estate.
