It Was Love at First Sight For Gisele, Even Though Tom Was Already Taken

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary in February, but their love story actually begun three years before their 2009 nuptials. The couple, who has three adorable kids between them (Jack, Benjamin, and Vivian), started dating while Tom was still in a relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan. "I knew right [a]way - the first time I saw him," Gisele told Vanity Fair in 2009. "We met through a friend. The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, that is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I've ever seen! We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn't want to leave. You know that feeling of, like, you can't get enough? From the first day we met, we've never spent one day without speaking to each other."

Gisele also confessed that she "wasn't looking for a relationship" at the time. "I'd always been in serious relationships, but you learn a lot about yourself when you're by yourself, and I was enjoying that process. But you don't choose." While both of Tom's relationships overlapped just a tiny bit, Tom ended up breaking things up with Bridget, who later announced she was pregnant with Tom's child and gave birth to son Jack in August 2007. "It was definitely a surprise for both of us," Gisele recalled. "In the beginning you're living this romantic fantasy; you're thinking, this can't be true, it's so good! And then, whoops - wake-up call! We were dating two and a half months when he found out, and it was a very challenging situation. Obviously, in the beginning, it's not the ideal thing." Fast-forward to present day, and Gisele has fully embraced being a stepmom to Jack and seems to have an amicable relationship with Bridget.

11 Things That Won't Make Sense If You Don't Come From a Latino Family

We're not saying every Latino family is the same, but, if we're being honest, there are a few customs that most of us share. For example, "la chancleta" has a meaning to you, and the idea of calling everyone tío and tía even if you just met them doesn't seem weird. Scroll ahead for 11 things that someone who doesn't come from a big Latino family just wouldn't understand at all.

10 Student-Teacher Relationships That Cross the Line

At what point does it become acceptable for a student to date a teacher? It's obviously a no-no if the student is underage, but some colleges have banned student-teacher sex completely, even between consenting adults. For years, the topic has fascinated filmmakers and viewers alike. Some are particularly racy takes on these scandals, like the film A Teacher, while other affairs are explained more easily - Drew Barrymore is an undercover reporter in Never Been Kissed, therefore technically fair game ( . . . still a little shady). Here are student-teacher liaisons that cross the line from cute to questionable.

Police Used Fitbit Data to Charge a Husband With His Wife's Murder

A man was arrested for the murder of Connie Dabate based on surprising evidence: Fitbit data. Richard Dabate is now the key suspect in the murder case of his wife Connie Debate, who died from a gunshot wound in December 2015.

Originally, Dabate told investigators that a "tall, obese man," shot and killed Connie. When police arrived at the scene, they found Dabate in the kitchen, tied to a chair, according to the New York Daily News. However, Fitbit data showed that Connie was still alive during the time Dabate said she was dead.

Other key details in Dabate's story came to light as well. He had a pregnant girlfriend at the time and had asked Connie for a divorce. Dabate also purchased the gun that killed Connie. According to the Hartford Courant, Dabate filed for a $475,000 life insurance claim on Connie a few days after the murder, as well as withdrawing $93,000 from an investment account of hers.

Dabate is currently out on bail, but will come back to court on April 28 to face the following charges: murder, tampering with evidence, and making a false statement.

An Open Letter to Everyone Who Asks Me When I'm (Finally) Getting Married

My boyfriend and I have been dating for almost six years. We've lived together for most of our relationship, we've traveled all over the world together, and we do annoying things like finish each other's sentences on accident. It's gross. But sweet. His family is my family, and my family is his. We're both in our late 20s, work our dream jobs, and share a home in a city we love with a sassy white cat who curls up at our feet (or on our faces) each night when we go to sleep. Our relationship has gotten stronger and stronger with each passing year and through each new challenge and triumph we've faced.

And we have absolutely no marriage plans. Get the f*ck over it.

I was born and raised in a part of the country where the traditional trajectory of adult life goes like so: graduate high school, go to college, meet significant other in college, graduate college, get married to college sweetheart. Live happily ever after?

This path was never part of my plans. It's a perfect option for some couples, just not for me. Still, as time has gone by, the empty space on my ring finger has gotten to be quite the talking point for people, and for some reason, they seem to care way more about my lack of impending nuptials than the actual people involved in my relationship (just me and boyfriend, last time I checked) do. At holidays, weddings, and even among friends, we constantly get variations of the (nosy and kind of awkward) question "When are you two getting married?"

Having a healthy relationship doesn't mean having a goal of marriage in mind - it means being on the same page with each other, whatever that page may be.

Trust me, I know there are significantly more offensive questions someone can ask. This one, however, can get pretty grating after the, say, 100th time you hear it. It (almost) always comes from people who just love us and want what's best for us, but the problem is, by asking the unwarranted question, you're implying that marriage is what's best for us. And it's not. We're not opposed to marriage (OK, well my partner isn't, at least), but we also have a great thing going doing exactly what we've been doing for years, and we see no reason to rock the boat.

Society forces many people to feel that at a certain point in a relationship, marriage is the necessary next step - and those who feel pressure sometimes take this step even if they are not financially (or worse, emotionally) ready to do so. There's also a common misconception that a relationship isn't truly "complete" until someone puts a ring on it, and that, I must say, is utter bullsh*t.

Ask us where we plan to travel next, ask us about our work lives, ask us about that time we accidentally got lost in a national park in Northern California for hours and almost didn't make it back before the sun went down and we were stuck there all night. Ask us if we're happy. Ask us about the damn cat - but please, don't ask us when we're getting married. In doing so, you're completely missing the point.

Having a healthy relationship doesn't mean having a goal of marriage in mind - it means being on the same page with each other, whatever that page may be. For us, it means trying new things, it means (over)sharing every bit of information about our lives with each other, it means getting our favorite meal at our favorite restaurant and basking in just how boring we can be, it means coming back to our apartment at the end of a terrible day and finding that home is wherever we both are together. We don't want to spend our money on a wedding and certainly not on a diamond ring I don't want and would never wear. For now, we want to spend our money on things that help us make memories we'll have forever. Am I saying we'll never get married? I don't know if we will or not, and I don't really care right now.

We spent almost the entirety of our 20s focused on our careers, on our travel adventures, on making mistakes and learning from them, on celebrating our successes and on supporting each other throughout our failures. On loving each other. Isn't that what married couples promise to do for each other, too? Love each other and support each other unconditionally? What difference does it make if there's a binding legal document telling us what we already know, which is that we are committed to each other 100 percent? If that's enough for us (and, spoiler alert, it is), then it should plenty for everyone else, too.

Scarlett Johansson Invites a Look-Alike Grandma to Come and Party With Her

Scarlett Johansson just found her long-lost twin (well, another one anyway), despite the fact that she's a grandma! After Reddit user Denverjoel posted a photo of his grandmother Geraldine from 1967 last week, he couldn't help but call out her uncanny resemblance to the Hollywood star. "My grandma looked like Scarlett Johansson when she was younger," he wrote alongside the photo. Joel also told his grandma about her famous twin, but she laughed it all off because she was "drunk as a skunk" in the photo with her husband (he sadly passed away last year).

My Grandma Looked Like Scarlett Johansson When She Was Younger

The photo has since gone viral, even catching the attention of Scarlett herself. The actress recorded a video message for Geraldine in response to all the attention, in which she invites the 72-year-old and her 25-year-old grandson to join her at the premiere of her new movie, Rough Night. "I would like to see your drunk face," she said. "I want to share a drunk face with you. Let's have a drink, Geraldine." We already can't wait to see if Scarlett and Geraldine walk the red carpet together!

How Ham, Burnt Paper, and Grass Stains Inspire This MAC Artist's Masterpieces

Thanks to Instagram, makeup artists have received more recognition for their talents in recent years than ever before. But while it's mostly YouTubers and new phenoms that get much of the credit, it's worth falling into the rabbit hole of beauty inspiration to find the OGs of the craft. One such maestro is MAC Cosmetics's Director of Artistry Terry Barber, who has been with the brand for 17 years. Allure recently pointed out that instead of just whipping up a classic smoky eye or red lip, Barber shares his unique muses for his makeup masterpieces . . . emphasis on unique.

The professional sees inspiration in his surroundings, which includes everything from a map for the London Underground and grass-stained linens to burnt paper and copper wire. A mere glance at one of these objects is a catalyst for truly breathtaking work that you'd want to get framed and hang on your wall. (He even collages the original source of inspiration with his finished look, so you can see the artistic evolution.)

But aside from the mesmerizing art, what we like most about his feed is his clever captions. For example, he points out that when applying bronzer, "there is a fine line between looking like a supermodel on the beach and a walnut cabinet." Too true but also too funny. Keep reading for some of our favorite examples from his Instagram feed, then be sure to follow him at @terrybarberonbeauty.

Val Kilmer Publicly Acknowledges His Cancer Battle For the First Time

After years of speculation that Val Kilmer has been dealing with health issues, the actor decided to finally open up about what exactly he's been going through during a recent Reddit AMA session. After one user asked Val about Michael Douglas publicly saying Val was battling throat cancer back in October, Val confirmed his illness for the first time. "He was probably trying to help me because the press probably asked where I was these days, and I did have a healing of cancer," he said. "But my tongue is still swollen although healing all the time. Because I don't sound my normal self yet people think I may still be under the weather."

Michael, who is also a throat cancer survivor, had previously said that his The Ghost and the Darkness costar was "dealing with exactly what I had" and that "things don't look too good for him," adding, "My prayers are with him. That's why you haven't heard too much from Val lately." While rumors of Val's health swirled over the past few years, he continued to deny frequent hospital stays and "exaggerated" media reports. Either way, we're so glad that he's on the mend!

5 Misconceptions About Strong Women

Strong and independent women can sometimes get a bad rap, which is bullsh*t. We're seen as intimidating or too assertive, while men who have the same qualities are often celebrated. Of course, not everyone has a negative view of this kind of woman, but there are a few things that need to be clarified. Just because we're self-sufficient and know what we want doesn't mean we're any less capable of compassion or love. In fact, I argue that we make the best kind of partners. So, before you make any inaccurate assumptions about strong women, see five common misconceptions.

1. They don't do relationships.

An independent woman knows how to love; she's just selective about who she allows into her life. It has nothing to do with ego, either. She doesn't want to waste her time with someone who doesn't see her worth or doesn't meet her standards. When the right partner comes along, she's open to exploring the possibilities.

2. They don't get insecure.

Just because she's very sure of herself doesn't mean she doesn't have moments of low self-esteem or self-doubt. She's just like everyone else and experiences the same kind of insecurities from time to time. She may not show it, but know that beneath the surface, her confidence can have cracks.

3. They're selfish.

Sorry, but when did focusing on your own passions and needs become a bad thing? People need to know the difference between selfishness and focus. She's not disregarding those around her; she knows when to make herself a priority and when to take a step back. She's assertive and goes after what she wants and isn't afraid to stand against those who get in the way of reaching her goals.

4. They're cocky.

Confidence and cockiness are different. She's proud of who she is but never does she think she's better than anyone else. She values herself and doesn't take sh*t from people who try to bring her down, but she's also aware of the importance of humility.

5. They're mean.

You might get the impression that she can be a bit intimidating, but that shouldn't equate to her being disrespectful or inconsiderate of others. And if she's serious in the workplace, it's called being professional. Women in general don't have to be all smiles and rainbows in order to be considered "nice." Strong and independent women don't care about being liked - they care about being taken seriously.

Yes, "Stealthing" Is Sexual Assault, and We Should Be Prosecuting the Men Who Practice It

A new study from the Columbia Journal of Gender and Law explores "stealthing," when a man purposefully removes a condom during sex without consent. It's a practice that's disturbing, violating, and incredibly common. The study, written by Alexandra Brodsky, thoroughly explores the online community of men who believe that they are entitled to have condomless sex without their partner's agreement.

Stealthing is discussed online by both straight and gay men - they consider it their "right." They go as far as to say it's every man's right to "spread his seed." Many victims of this practice walk away from the experience feeling utterly violated. Rebecca, a woman interviewed in the study, had her own experience with stealthing. She also worked for a rape crisis hotline. "Their stories often start the same way," Rebecca told Brodsky. "'I'm not sure if this is rape, but . . .'"

This is a part of the problem with stealthing - women walk away from the situation unsure if they experienced sexual assault, sexual abuse, or rape.
This is a part of the problem with stealthing - women walk away from the situation unsure if they experienced sexual assault, sexual abuse, or rape. "Some realized their partner had removed the condom at the moment of re-penetration; others did not realize until the partner ejaculated or, in one case, notified them the next morning," the study explains.

The practice is not addressed in the United States courts, so the lack of legal recognition results in victims feeling confused and violated. It puts people at risk for sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancies - victims feel like their trust and self-worth has been completely disrespected. "One victim turned to an online forum for people with HIV in the wake of her experience because she was so worried she may have contracted the virus from her assailant," Brodsky wrote.

This sexual and gender-based violence has entire websites dedicated to it. Men will give tips and advice on how to trick partners into condomless sex. "While one can imagine a range of motivations for 'stealthers' - increased physical pleasure, a thrill from degradation - online discussions suggest offenders and their defenders justify their actions as a natural male instinct - and natural male right," Brodsky explains. These men have no regard for the rights, health, and well-being of their sexual partners.

So how can we argue that stealthing falls under nonconsensual sex? Brodsky's first explanation is literal and straight-forward. "The victim consented to touch by a condom, not touch by the skin of a penis. The law is clear that one may consent to one form of sexual contact without providing blanket future consent to all sexual contact."

Brodsky's second argument makes perfect sense as well. She explains that when someone is consenting to sex with a condom, they are consenting to the risks and benefits that go along with that act. "Sex without a condom carries higher risks of pregnancy and STI transmission than sex with a condom," she wrote. "Because of the increased risk, the removal of the condom transforms the sexual act into a different act, such that consent to one is not carried over to consent to the other."

Providing proof is incredibly difficult and there is no law that specifically addresses this crime.
The fact that we have to explain or prove these facts to anyone is ridiculous. Men are forcing their victims into a sexual act that they did not agree to. Unfortunately, stealthing is difficult to prosecute if a victim chooses to take legal action. Providing proof is incredibly difficult and there is no law that specifically addresses this crime.

Brodsky ends her study by stating that the best way to take action on stealthing would be to create a new legal statute. "One of my goals with the article, and in proposing a new statute, is to provide a vocabulary and create ways for people to talk about what is a really common experience that just is too often dismissed as just 'bad sex' instead of 'violence.'" A statute would not only give victims a clearer opportunity to press charges if they wanted to, but it would also promote a discussion about different forms of sexual assault. Victims would then have more resources for help and recovery - something that could truly make a huge difference.

Jeffree Star Declares War on Too Faced Cosmetics, and It's All Over Unicorns

Last week, Jerrod Blandino, cofounder of Too Faced Cosmetics, posted an Instagram photo of the brand's Unicorn Tears lipstick, seen above. Though the post has since been deleted, beauty influencer Jeffree Star construed the image as shade, and he had a lot to say.

Jeffree went on a major Snapchat rant, explaining that "as someone that has been buying makeup for a really long time and someone that is a fan of the brand Too Faced," he was upset by Jerrod's caption. He interpreted Jerrod's "#ThereArentUnicornsInTheAmazon" hashtag as a dig toward Tarte Cosmetics and the brand's Amazonian Clay unicorn-themed collection. He then called out the Too Faced founder: "Who is that delusional and dumb to think that they invented unicorn makeup?" Yes, the drama involving some of our favorite brands and influencers is all over unicorns.

But Jeffree did not stop there. "So let's go back to the shade," he continues. "Then he has to of course announce that it [Too Faced Unicorn Tears] has the number one spot as the best-selling lipstick in all of Ulta. Ah, congrats. I'll tell you what the problem here is, who's that insecure that they have to post something that shady about another brand? If you had the f*cking balls to tweet that in your mansion, you should have the balls to keep it up on your mother f*cking Instagram. But, I'm over here scratching my head like, as a makeup lover and as a makeup fan you're shading another brand, so petty and gross, like it wasn't even creative. B*tch it sucked."

"I'm just saying y'all, I'm so disappointed as a fan of makeup and I'm just done supporting people who are gonna treat people like that," Jeffree continued. "I don't care who did unicorn what, when, where. I have a unicorn blood lipstick, should I start suing? Girl, spare me, it's makeup."

Jeffree even brought in Nikkie Tutorials and her collaboration with Too Faced, hinting at some shady business between the influencer and brand, but then he stopped himself. "If she wants to talk about that one day, I will let her," he said. "They probably had her sign so many contracts and agreements that she's not ever allowed to even speak of it. The difference between me and them, I'm not owned by a company, I'm not owned by a corporation. I own myself and I'm always going to keep it real with you guys and share my thoughts."

And that's exactly what he did, as he also went on a huge Twitter rant slamming the unicorn drama.

Check out Karina Kaboom's take on everything that went down, and let us know what you think about all of this! Did Jeffree really need to get involved? Should Jerrod have avoided the controversial hashtag? Should Jeffree have involved Nikkie Tutorials and other brands with unicorn products? Weigh in below.

This Girl Gave Her Sleeping Dad a Makeover and His Reaction Will Make You Cry Laughing

Playing pranks on sleeping family members is a time-honored tradition, but one beauty-lover took her practical joke skills to the next level. Twitter user @Breevnnv, also known as Breeanna, documented how she beat her father's face for the gods as he snoozed.

This was not a quick application of eye shadow and lipstick. No, Breeanna started playing some mood music on full blast (including Mariah Carey and Chris Brown) and got to work. She began with a dramatic "Instagram brow," then continued with a glitter cut crease, intensely luminous highlight, and lacquered lips. She even added brow tint to his beard and a bold set of falsies.

However, those lashes proved problematic once Breeanna woke up her dad: she had accidentally glued his eyes partially shut. If you hadn't already been cracking up throughout the makeover process, seeing her father struggle to open his eyes - and witnessing Breeanna's mother practically crying with laughter over it - will definitely push you over the edge. Here's hoping that this is just the first in a long series of Dad glam sessions! Watch the above video now for your daily dose of hysteria, and be sure to turn up the volume.

12 Destination Museums Worth Planning Your Next Trip Around

Frequent travelers - and anyone who visited foreign cities with their parents as a kid - know: it just wouldn't be a vacation without a trip to local museums.

With the emergence of mainstream street artists, design-focused hospitality brands, and social media branding, arts-focused tourism is on the rise; as with everything else, your parents were right: museums are cool. In many ways, this shift can be credited to the evolution of not only the way tourists view art, but of the museum itself; the modern art museum is more than a place to view paintings and sculptures, but a community hub highlighting a portion of the world's greatest artworks. Today, the museum is a destination worth not only planning a trip to, but worth planning a trip around.

Keeping the season in mind - perhaps your mom has a tropical vacation coming up? - we gathered a handful of beachside essentials along with seasonless must-have items that double as prized possessions. Ahead, see 46 standout picks for that very important holiday in May.

3 Sex Positions Virgos Will Love

The Virgo sign is most associated with being prude, conservative, and slightly vanilla. I mean, their zodiac symbol is the virgin. But let's go ahead and change that mindset to the fact that Virgos can get down. They might not wear their heart on their sleeve and they tend to shy away from PDA, but behind closed doors, they're very devoted lovers.

When it comes to the best sex positions for this sign, we do have to consider some of their downfalls. They can be overly analytical and they prefer routine over spontaneity. You might not want to surprise them with the wildest trysts at first, but once you've gained their trust and they becomes more comfortable, all bets are off. Overall, they're most compatible with Pisces and Cancer signs, but anyone who can stimulate them intellectually has a chance at their heart. Here are three sex positions Virgos would like.

1. Lap Dance

Sensual and direct, the lap dance can easily transition from foreplay to sex if you want to first ease into things. Both of your hands are free to wander and take the passion up a notch. Virgos like being in control, making this position especially fitting.

How it works: Have your partner sit with their legs together. Sit on their lap reversed with your legs behind you and outside of theirs and your head on their shoulder.

2. Downward Dog

As much as Virgos like being in charge of things, they also like to please their partner. They have an adventurous side, so downward dog (not the one you're thinking of) is a fun choice if you want to switch roles and have your partner in power.

How it works: Kneel face down with one arm behind you and one arm resting comfortably by your head. Keep your legs apart as your partner enters from behind, holding your bent wrist with their other hand on the back your neck.

3. Thirst

Virgos can easily get lost in their thoughts, but face-to-face positions will keep them present. Thirst is especially sensual and passionate, requiring a tight embrace.

How it works: Face each other lying on your sides. Have your partner's arm around you behind your neck with the other around your back or butt while you hug their neck. One of their legs will be in between yours, allowing you to wrap your top leg around them. This position makes kissing and caressing easy.

What Goats (Yes, Goats) Can Teach Us About Personal Finance

While writing her hugely successful self-help book You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth, all about achieving financial abundance and security.

Keep reading for the laugh-out-loud hilarious excerpt and find out how we can live more like goats, become our "badassiest selves," and grow richer.

"I wrote the first You Are a Badass book while I was staying on a farm in northern California. The deal was I could have the entire 17-acre paradise, complete with beautiful sunny house and views in all directions, if I took care of their horse and two goats. I'm a little scared of horses (and don't you need a special license or degree or something to take care of an animal that large?) and knew nothing about goats other than that they can chew through cans, but I loved the place, and I love animals, and staying there ended up being one of my favorite chunks of time ever.

I'd spend my days sitting on the couch in front of the giant windows, typing on my laptop while gazing out at Diablo Mountain. The goats spent their days sitting on the porch in front of the sliding glass door, gazing at me, waiting in vain to be let inside. Sometimes they'd get up and chase the horse around the yard or run full speed into each other's heads, but for the most part they'd just glare at me with their weird goatly eyes, aggressively chewing their cud, insulted and unamused by their outdoor-only status. Every so often, when they just could not believe I still hadn't gotten up and invited them in, they'd take matters into their own hands and hurl themselves against the glass or get up on their hind legs and pound it with their hooves.

One day while I was off in town shopping, I returned home after about five hours to find the horse standing in the driveway by himself. Although he was truly one of the biggest horses I'd ever laid eyes on, he was also one of the neediest, and was rarely, if ever, more than 20 feet away from his goats.

"What are you doing out here all by yourself?" I asked him as I got out of the car, pausing to listen to the familiar sound of goat hooves banging against a glass door. My first thought was how strange it was that they'd be trying to get in when I wasn't home (they were equally as needy about me as the horse was about them). My second thought was Holy. F*cking. Sh*t.

I realized they weren't trying to get in. They were trying to get out.

In a slow-motion sprint, I ran up to the house, let myself in, shoved the goats out, and did my best to shut and barricade the newly compromised door. I then proceeded to stand frozen, with my hands over my mouth, uttering "Oh my God" over and over and over as I took in the sight before me.

It was like witnessing the aftermath of a particularly debauched fraternity party full of amateur drinkers - epic, shocking, and so staggeringly horrible you can't help but look even though you really don't want to.

The goats had finally made the impossible dream come true by knocking the sliding glass door off its track and bursting through the screen, which subsequently closed on its own, trapping them inside with nothing else to do but completely destroy the place for five delirious hours. Their handiwork involved knocking over every single potted plant, smashing the planters and kicking dirt, planter, and plant debris in an impressively wide radius. They pulled the dish towel off the counter that I had glasses drying on, thereby shattering glass all over the place. Then there was the pooping and pissing party, which took place on every single piece of furniture and in every imaginable corner. They excreted their excrement on my bed, the white couch, the coffee table, the dining-room table, the bench in the hallway, and inside my shower. There was such an incredible volume of urine, in fact, I imagined that they somehow must have waved the horse inside so he could get in on the fun too. For their grand finale, they hopped up and down and knocked nearly every single piece of artwork off the wall onto the floor. I mean, who thinks to do that?

My first reaction was shock, but I have to admit, after that I was pretty damn impressed. They really did a great, thorough job. We could all learn a thing or two from their tireless commitment to detail and the pride they so clearly took in their work.

Here are some secrets to success that the goats modeled beautifully:

  • Chewing, kicking, stampeding through any obstacles in their paths.
  • Pooh-poohing the rules.
  • Dreaming. Bigger than goats are told they can dream.
  • Never taking no for an answer.
  • Following their hearts no matter what.
  • Not stopping until they reached their goal.

It opened up a whole new world for them, literally and metaphorically. They transcended their Outdoor Farm Animals status and became Creatures Who've Experienced Thousand-Thread-Count Sheets. They were forever changed. What this meant was that they became colossal pains in the ass, and more destructive than any goat has ever been, which is saying something. Drunk with power on their victory and newfound mindset that anything they desire is possible, they broke through the gate and started terrorizing the neighborhood on a regular basis. They began jumping all over people's parked cars, tried to break and enter any sliding glass door they happened upon, tore down bird feeders, obliterated gardens, and chased after small dogs, all the while maniacally screaming, yelling, laughing, and pissing wherever they pleased, like a pair of carousing psychopaths. I quickly got the gate fixed, patched all the holes in the fence surrounding the property, and covered my car in giant slabs of plywood to keep them off it, but the horse and I never looked at the goats the same way again. We were both kinda in awe.

Doubts, fears, and other people's rules are no match for a heart on a mission.
In order to become rich, you must connect to your desire for money with the passion of a goat who wants in off the porch. And the key to doing this is by getting clear on the specifics around your Why: Why do you desire this money? What will you spend it on? How will it feel to make it, spend it, and bask in the manifestation of your ever so important Why? Just wanting to get rich isn't going to cut it - there has to be meaning behind the money or else the second it gets hard or expensive or someone tells you you're high if you think you can get rich by selling your homemade ice cream, you'll slink back to your goat pen of complacency instead of doing whatever it takes. Start by thinking about what inspired you to pick up this book. How is more money going to add value to your life? How will getting rich change who you're being in the world? Which of your gifts are you the most excited to share in exchange for money? Where do you feel you bring the most value to your fellow earthlings? How does it feel to share your biggest, badassiest self with others?

If you're going to make more money, you need to get in touch with the emotions surrounding your incentive for making it, because emotions are what drive you to action. And if you're going to make the kind of money you've never made before, you're going to have to do a whole lotta stuff you ain't never done before, which will scare and challenge (and excite) the crap out of you. So you're going to want to be real fired up about getting rich and very clear about why it's so important to you."

This Is Why You Buy So Much Makeup - and It Has Nothing to Do With Loving Beauty Products

You don't need 50 shades of gray - eye shadow, that is.

We live in a world of instant gratification. Between the Kardashians, Instagram, and social media, we are constantly told that we need a new contour palette, eye shadow palette, or lip kit to be "perfect." But perfection is unattainable, and we need to stop this needless shopping.

I can remember the day that I tried Dior's Diorshow mascara for the first time. I remember where I was standing in the Macy's cosmetic department. I looked in the mirror and I had never seen my eyelashes look so amazing in my life. I remember my friend gasping in shock at how long and supple my eyelashes looked. I have been chasing that moment ever since.

I eventually got sick of Diorshow and moved on to Chanel, IT, Lancome and a million others, trying to re-create that moment when I could look in the mirror and sigh with happiness at how beautiful I was. It has never happened again - yet I continue to buy mascara like a crack addict. Many of you do the same.

Every day of my life, as a working makeup artist, women who are dissatisfied with their looks and their cosmetics ask me for a new lipstick or a new eyeshadow. Time and time again, I warn them that the best way to make ourselves feel better is by making better skin care choices and creating a flawless look to our skin. Yet women keep seeking that elusive lipstick or eyeshadow color to make them happy.

It doesn't matter that I have four open tubes of mascara right now or that I have tried millions. If someone tells me tomorrow that there's amazing new mascara that will change my lashes forever, I will buy three of them.

That is the underlying issue with this type of compulsive shopping. We go after a beauty high to make ourselves forget about our troubles. If we look and feel beautiful, we think that everything will be ok.

Eye shadow palettes and lipstick seem to be the top contenders in the category of "happiness-chasing cosmetics." In 2001, during a tough economic crisis, Estée Lauder reported that it had record-breaking lipstick sales and dubbed the phenomenon the "lipstick effect." Women needed a quick fix to feel better, and lipstick seemed to do the trick.

The sad truth is that no matter what we purchase, we won't ever really be happy. If I had to guess, those women who bought all of those lipsticks went home armed with their new red shade and found that once applied, they were still bummed out. That moment when you look in the mirror and see your supple lips outlined and filled with beautiful, juicy lip color gives you a dopamine rush. Dopamine is a chemical that gives us feelings of euphoria, often confusing us into thinking that our wants are actual needs.

Make no mistake about it - women often confuse their desire for a favorite lipstick color as a need. I cannot tell you how many women have gone to a cosmetic counter with a nearly empty lipstick tube with just trace amounts left. The remaining lipstick has fuzz in it and is clearly oxidized because it is at least 10 years old. Often, this color has been discontinued decades before, and this woman has gone from store to store buying a lifetime supply of said color. She is now going from store to store trying to find a match because her lifetime supply has run out.

To a fly on the wall, it might appear that this woman is on a desperate search for a cure to a fatal illness that will kill her in 24 hours. Her thought patterns and demands are irrational and erratic. She will use a cotton swab to rescue the tiniest amount out of the tube and run around asking if anyone can match this color as though her life depends on it.

In a way, she actually believes her life depends on it.

In her mind, the euphoria and happiness that this lipstick has brought her is irreplaceable. We need to shift our mindset. We need to realize that this one shade of lipstick is not the answer to all of our troubles and insecurities. If you can't find that one perfect shade, it might just be the universe telling you it's time to break up with your favorite lipstick.

Dr. Krista Wells, a psychologist and life coach in West Hartford, CT, explains that if we pay attention to our mood when we make purchases and when we have buyer's remorse, we can become more mindful shoppers and not fall into the trap of buying just to buy. Her advice: "Treat yourself to a new item as a reward for hard work versus mindlessly overspending on something you already own. That only leaves you with buyer's remorse."

I like her "less is more" way of thinking. We can feel good about a few purchases instead of an endless stream of mindless buys that clog our makeup drawer and never bring us pleasure.

Eye shadow palettes are the modern-day answer to lipstick. The younger generation of women runs into stores to buy the latest palettes the day they launch, frantic to get the newest slate of eyeshadows that they already have, as if they are winning the lottery.

As a makeup artist, I have quite possibly hundreds of eyeshadow colors in my possession. Like most women, I regularly use three. So what is this obsessive compulsion with buying palettes of 10 to 20 shadow colors?

I asked a friend who I know is guilty of acquiring needless eye shadow palettes, "Why do you keep buying eye shadow palettes? You actually don't need any more eye shadow."

"Yes, I know," she said. "But I like knowing that I have a lot of options. In my head, I am buying options."

I responded: "OK, well I have known you for 30 years and your eye makeup always looks the same."

Her answer was enlightening: "One day I might want to look different - and I know that I will be able to do that, since I have 10 eye shadow palettes. I am addicted to eye shadow and you are my dealer."

This conversation confirmed my theory that these purchases are fulfilling a need that has absolutely nothing to do with eye shadow.

We don't need or want 50 neutral eye shadows, or 10 lipsticks that are essentially the same color. What we really want is to be beautiful and perfect.

But perfection does not exist.

So throw out your 50 shades of gray eye shadow and rock a violet or pink that screams this is the "new me" and own it. Or create your perfect face using skin care. Just remember that you're going to find true happiness outside of the cosmetic department.

Check Your Passport! If It Expires in 3 or 6 Months, You Might Not Be Able to Travel

Just because you have a valid US passport does not mean you're ready to travel out of the country! Unless you recently renewed your passport, you will want to check the expiration date ASAP. We Can Barely Control Ourselves at the Sight of Selena Gomez's Gingham Set

We're hyperventilating a bit at how beautiful Selena Gomez's outfit is in these photos. The "It Ain't Me" singer managed to wear what is usually an overpowering print from head to toe, and there was one simple trick to how she did it.

The Brock Collection gingham off-the-shoulder top and matching wide pants (from the brand's Fall/Winter 2017 collection) Selena wore to We Day California features a soft baby blue shade that softens the look, so you can only see the print if you're paying close attention. She paired her matching set with creamy pastel pumps, tiny heart hoops from Jennifer Fisher, and a gorgeous honey bob. Keep scrolling to see more photos of Selena and to shop her look.

This Is the 1 Thing Kids Want From Their Parents

News flash: the superexpensive toy with all the buttons and flashing lights isn't the thing at the top of your kid's wish list. What your little one really wants is something that doesn't cost you a cent but is perhaps more difficult to provide than anything you can put on your credit card - it's your time.

Such quality time is the one thing all happy kids seem to have in common. It's actually been proven that children tend to be happier and more satisfied in life when they are able to interact with their parents - whether that's you talking to them, listening to them, or simply looking when they implore "watch this!" for the 17th time.

Sadly, as inexpensive as time is, we're often strapped for it. Between long hours at work, endless chores, and the allure of digital distractions, what should be the easiest thing to give is, these days, the most difficult.

Here are some practical suggestions to get you started in, well, no time.

  1. Get out of your comfort zone. It's easy to be distracted when hanging out at home, so relocate. Setting up a blanket at the local park is a perfect change of pace. Just make a point to leave your phone at home - or at least put it away.
  2. Include the kids in your chores. Prepping a grocery list may seem like a solitary task, but having your child help can make it a shared experience. Ask him to open the fridge and list off what he sees and what he thinks is missing. If they're able to do basic math, have them help you figure out how many apples you'll need for the week.
  3. Run errands during work hours. If you can manage it, schedule those odds and ends - doctor appointments, dry-cleaning drop-offs, and even grocery shopping - during your lunch break. This way, you can share quality time together instead of rushing them in and out of car seats all evening.
  4. Accept "good enough" when it comes to housework. You may have the urge to wipe the baseboards clean every Tuesday, but when that interferes with your kids' needs, do your best to accept less-than-spotless results.
  5. Do separate things in the same room. Even if your kids are happy to play independently, there's absolutely no disadvantage to you being in the same room as them. Read your magazine on the floor while they're building a Lego tower - you'll be surprised what your mere presence means.
  6. Get involved. It's a commitment, but instead of just dropping them off at their extracurricular activities, consider volunteering to be their Girl Scout troop leader or to help coach the kickball team. Such involvement will allow you to be present at some of their most memorable events.
  7. Schedule bonding time in the calendar. You book time for things as boring as dental cleanings and oil changes, so why not pencil in some uninterrupted family time? Whether it's a weekly board game night or a monthly day trip to a museum of their choosing, block off the time and make a point to never reschedule or cancel.

Fyre Festival Organizers Release an Official Apology: "We Weren't Ready"

Fyre Festival was billed as "a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience on the Islands of the Exumas." While attendees may agree that it's certainly a "once-in-a-lifetime" experience, it's certainly not one they'd hope to repeat. The brainchild of rapper Ja Rule and entrepreneur Billy McFarland, Fyre was supposed to be a luxury experience that would bring A-list music acts to a small island in the Bahamas. Blink-182 was set to perform for the audience, each of whom paid between $4,000 and $20,000 just for the privilege of being there (airfare not included). Within minutes of arriving on the scene, crowds realized that they'd been duped. The festival is a total mess, so much so that the organizers immediately canceled it, allegedly "due to circumstances out of our control."

An official statement claims that "the physical infrastructure was not in place on time and we are unable to fulfill on that vision safely and enjoyably for our guests." Fyre has been postponed to a later date, as live updates from guests continued to flood Twitter over the weekend. While no one has been hurt, attendees are drawing comparisons to Lord of the Flies and The Hunger Games. Here's a rundown of the situation, as it's happening.

Update: The festival's organizers released an official apology on their website on Sunday, saying in part, "Billy McFarland and Ja Rule started a partnership over a mutual interest in technology, the ocean, and rap music. This unique combination of interests led them to the idea that, through their combined passions, they could create a new type of music festival and experience on a remote island. They simply weren't ready for what happened next, or how big this thing would get." They also stated that everyone that attended this year's festival are being given full refunds and will receive VIP tickets to next year's festival.

Ja Rule also commented on the situation via Twitter on Sunday. "Relieved to share that all guest[s] are safe, and have been sent the form to apply for a refund. Our deepest apologies... #fyrefestival." And Bella Hadid, who helped promote the festival but wasn't directly associated with it and didn't attend, apologized to her fans via Twitter. "I initially trusted this would be an amazing & memorable experience for all of us . . . I feel so sorry and badly because this is something I couldn't stand by."

This "In Memoriam" to the Men of Fox News Will Make You Laugh and Fume

Samantha Bee presented an "in memoriam" to two still-living people at last night's Not the White House Correspondents Dinner: Fox News's departed, alleged serial sexual harassers Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly. In the segment, she bemoaned that both were "gone too late" from the conservative-leaning network.

Bee sarcastically credited Ailes for his two major contributions to TV news: the "gam cam" - a widely used camera angle that spotlights the legs of the women reporters and anchors on the network - and the news ticker. "Oh my god, it's so handy for keeping track of sexual harassment allegations at Fox," she quipped. The comedian went in on the network's male leadership both past and present in the segment, going on to refer to NewsCorp media titan Rupert Murdoch as a "sentient liver spot," and Bill O'Reilly a "Viagra aficianado" who was "400 pounds of sexual harassment allegations in a 200-pound bag."

Samantha Bee's TV special offered a pointed alternative to this year's official White House Correspondents' Dinner. Donald Trump chose not to attend this year, breaking with long-held presidential tradition. Instead, he traveled to Pennsylvania to deliver a speech celebrated by his supporters on site - and described as "divisive" and "disturbing" by former White House adviser David Gergen - at yet another post-election rally.

For skincare-lovers, the line includes three cleansing foams in different scents: iris, cherry blossom, and maylily.

Although the collection came out late in 2016 and was only available abroad, you can still find some of the products on eBay. With the rising popularity of Korean beauty in the US, we're hoping that brands will start to sell more of their products stateside soon. Keep reading to see the whole collection.

#fyrefestival."

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia Show Off Their This Is Us Steelers Pride in Pittsburgh

Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia left us heartbroken after the season one finale of This Is Us earlier this year, but on Saturday, the two couldn't have looked happier. Mandy and Milo, who play married couple Jack and Rebecca Pearson on the hit NBC show, visited the Pittsburgh Steelers' Heinz Field over the weekend to help announce their new NFL Draft picks (fans of the show know that the Pearson clan are dedicated Steelers fans). In addition to getting their very own jerseys with Jack and Rebecca's names on the back, Mandy also mentioned the possibility of the show coming back to film scenes at Heinz Field. Allow these cute pictures to distract you from the fact that Jack isn't alive in the present day (and all those awful death theories).

5 Reasons Beyoncé Has to Play Nala in the Upcoming Lion King Reboot

As a resident Beyoncé superfan here at POPSUGAR, it makes sense that I would be the one to have strong feelings about the possibility of Queen Bey playing Nala in the upcoming Lion King reboot. When I think of a powerful, seductive lioness, Beyoncé is the first person who pops into my mind. Her fierce dance moves and take-no-sh*t female anthems could make even the toughest lion cower. Bey also has a sweet and sensual side, which I believe makes her the perfect candidate to play a feline queen like Nala. Are you still not convinced? Read on to see five reasons Beyoncé (and only Beyoncé) has to play Nala in the reboot, then check out all the details we know so far.

What You Need to Know About Donald Trump's Disturbing Views on Climate Change

President Donald Trump is nowhere near an environmentalist. As soon as he hired climate change denier and former Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruit as the Environmental Protection Agency's director, it became quite clear that Trump's administration would not promote policies seriously aimed at preventing global warming. As he nears his 100th day in office, Trump's energy policies seem to be adhering to his infamous tweet claiming that global warming was a hoax orchestrated by the Chinese.

Let's take a gander at just how many anti-environmental policies he's managed to push.

  1. With one executive order, Trump lifted former President Obama's effort to limit the coal industry. Hoping to revitalize the struggling industry, Trump signed the order which would keep plants open which would have been shutdown by Obama's Clean Power Plan. The trouble is, the coal industry is already doomed; natural gas and alternative energies have eclipsed the once booming business.
  2. According to the New York Times, Trump is expected to sign an executive order that would expand offshore oil drilling, and release formerly protected federal land to be explored for private interest. Obama had attempted to ban offshore drilling permanently by citing a 1953 law, however Trump will likely try to reverse this despite the fact that the Obama administration believed the moratorium would withstand legal challenges.
  3. In his budget proposal Trump slashed the EPA's budget by a third from $8.1 billion to $5.7 billion. He's also reportedly refused to hire anyone at the EPA whose research or title includes the word "climate."
  4. On the campaign trail Trump promised to "cancel" the monumental Paris Climate agreement reached in 2015 and agreed upon by more than 195 countries. It's unclear whether he will proceed with this pledge; however three of his cabinet members, including former Exxon CEO and now Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, have encouraged the president to remain in the pact.
  5. Although a minute detail, Trump failed to mention climate change in his April 23 Earth Day statement. Instead, Trump has evidently prioritized expanding the economy over protecting the environment as he reiterated on Twitter.
  6. After months of protests, Trump cleared a path for the controversial North Dakota Access Pipeline to be completed. It's already started pumping.
  7. Targeting water restrictions, Trump also ordered the EPA to disassemble another Obama administration policy protecting waterways and wetlands. The Waters of the United States rule attempted to stipulate anti-pollution regulations; with the dismantling of the law, millions of Americans' safe drinking water is at risk.
