These Are the Jeans You'll Want to Spend All Summer In

If for you Summer just means pulling out your white jeans from the back of the closet, that's A-OK. We're here for it. But we're diving a little further into the denim pool this season and shopping for feel-good graphics, floral embroidery, and breezy, cropped silhouettes too.

They say denim's the fabric of our lives, so why not ensure you've got a handful of pants to keep on rotation as the temperatures rise? Trust us, even when it's 80 and up, you'll still find a tube top, bodysuit, or, hey, even a bikini to style with the 12 bottoms ahead.

Maybe It's Time to Stop Asking Goldie Hawn Why She Hasn't Married Kurt Russell

Image Source: Getty / Max Mumby / Indigo

Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell first met while starring in 1968's The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, but it wasn't until 1983 that they began dating while working on their second joint film, Swing Shift. The couple recently rang in their 34th anniversary, an incredible feat for any couple but especially one made up of Hollywood A-listers. But what is particularly unique about Kurt and Goldie's relationship is the fact that they aren't married. Over their three decades together, they haven't felt the need to "make it official," and it's something that still seems to both fascinate and perplex the public.

"A lasting relationship isn't about marriage. It's about compatibility and communication."

It feels like in nearly every interview Goldie does with a major publication, she is asked about her choice not to marry Kurt. Despite the fact that she has made her reasons painfully clear over the years, Goldie is still bombarded with questions about how she could so bravely stay in a relationship with a man and have the audacity not to enter into a legally recognized union that has a large chance of ending in divorce. Like, how dare she?! Goldie has answered these questions with aplomb because she's Goldie f*cking Hawn, but it might officially be time to maybe trust that she knows what she's doing in her own relationship and accept that maybe their arrangement isn't that hard to wrap a head around. Goldie certainly isn't the only celebrity to eschew marriage in favor of a more modern, independent romantic lifestyle, and we should stop acting like it's some wacky concept.

"There's something psychological about not being married because it gives you the freedom to make decisions one way or the other. For me, I chose to stay, Kurt chose to stay, and we like the choice."

Image Source: Getty / Steve Granitz

What's worth noting is that being a woman with 50 years in the entertainment business, a woman who scored a spot in The Nutcracker at 10 years old, opened her own ballet academy, and founded a charity dedicated to improving the academic lives of young kids, should warrant some more interesting, thought-provoking questions than why she hasn't felt the need to marry a man who she has been in a committed relationship with since many of us were in diapers, a man with whom she has built a beautiful family and a complete life full of love, understanding, respect, "fun, laughs, and sex."

"The question is, 'Why (get married)?' it's not, 'Why not?' We love each other. We fight the way people are supposed to fight. We love our lives together."

The societal pressure to get married is everywhere and usually focused on women. Getting hitched is touted as the ultimate goal for us ladies, which could explain why we rarely hear about Kurt Russell being asked these types of questions - for some reason it falls on Goldie to constantly explain their joint decision to enjoy life without a marriage license. But instead of putting the emphasis on Why haven't you guys gotten married? we should shift the conversation to include more questions about their commitment to keeping things fresh after 34 years, helping their children become Hollywood stars in their own right, and staying fly as hell on the red carpet. After all, not being married might actually be the biggest "secret" to Goldie and Kurt's relationship success - so can't we just celebrate it?

A young woman who also happens to be a girl scout is the new hero inspiring the internet. In the viral photo, a girl scout appears to be standing up to a neo-Nazi at a protest.

The photo was taken at a far-right rally on May 1, in Brno, Czech Republic, reports The Huffington Post, and was posted to Facebook by user Vladimír Cicmanec. The girl's pose and expression are calm and strong, unafraid of the neo-Nazi in her face. The image is certainly resonating with people across the internet, considering the original Facebook post has more than 5,000 reactions, 1,000 shares, and 46 comments.

It was also posted to the World Organization of the Scout Movement's (WOSM) Facebook page, where it has more than 4,000 reactions, 1,000 shares, and 74 comments. There, WOSM names the girl scout as Lucie and shares that scouts were protesting the far-right rally "to express their support for values of diversity, peace, and understanding." The photo has also found its way to Reddit and Imgur.

Perhaps this photo of Lucie and other protesters who continue to stand up for what they believe in might finally send the message to the far right: they won't go anywhere anytime soon and they aren't afraid.

Kurt Russell Forgot About Meeting Amy Schumer Shortly After It Happened

Amy Schumer was so excited to work with her idol Goldie Hawn on their new movie Snatched, but it turns out that her "first" encounter with Goldie's partner, Kurt Russell, didn't go exactly as planned. During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, the comedian talked about how overjoyed Kurt was to meet her when she visited their home, but the only problem was it wasn't their first interaction. They actually sat next to each other through the whole 2017 Golden Globe Awards. "He lives in the moment," Goldie added. "And then he forgets about it a moment later." Looks like Kurt is a real-life Dory.

Kate Middleton's Coat Carries a Secret Meaning You Won't See Right Away

If there's one color Kate Middleton doesn't lack in her wardrobe, it's blue. The Duchess of Cambridge wears shades from navy to cobalt so often that we've labeled it her power color. Kate gravitated towards this calming hue once again for a visit to Luxembourg, where she wore a pastel Emilia Wickstead coatdress. It was elegant and simple, a classic Kate look we've all come to appreciate.

Though coatdresses are part of Kate's everyday wardrobe, there's likely a special reason the royal wore a blue one. The outerwear coincidentally matched the colors of the Luxembourg flag (FYI it's red, white, and blue). This small nod to the country and its people did not go unnoticed and most importantly, Kate glowed in the outfit. Read on to see the coatdress from all angles, then shop similar outerwear options below.

This Dreamy Makeup Brush Looks Just Like the "Enchanted Rose" From Beauty and the Beast

Update: It's official! The gorgeous rose brushes are going on pre-sale on May 12 at 10 a.m. Central time. The bundle of four brushes and a floral-print travel pouch costs $55, which is a total steal. Dare we say it makes an excellent Mother's Day gift?

Original story: The live-action Beauty and the Beast movie comes out on March 17, and Disney aficionados are whipping themselves up into a frenzy by shopping all kinds of products inspired by the film. This includes Gap's new kids' collection, an adorable tea set, and now, Storybook Cosmetics is giving us the gift of makeup brushes that look just like the enchanted rose. (Are you squealing as much as we are?)

The brand announced its "What's in a Name" collection late last Winter. It was inspired by Shakespeare's classic play, Romeo & Juliet, but we still think they would make a perfect addition to any Belle cosplay. Storybook Cosmetics shared that the launch would be ready by early Spring, and after weeks of suspense, their team has given us another sneak peek on Instagram.

"One more round of changes and our 'What's in a Name' original rose brushes will be complete!" the caption announced. Though the tools seem positively perfect (the handles look like real stems!) Storybook Cosmetics explained that the team plans to lengthen and darken the bristles. This way, they'll look even more like the velvety petals of a red rose, and those faux "leaves" on the brush's ferrule won't accidentally scratch the face. The team also shared that they'd be changing the bristles to a dark red ombré, making the brush head look more velvety (like petals!).

And yes, though this brush looks like it was snatched from beneath a bell jar that was hidden in the west wing, it's actually part of a bouquet of brushes. We can't wait to see the final set. (A note to anyone looking for a gift for their significant other or best friend: flowers make a lovely present all year round, hint hint!) Keep reading for more shots of the collection.

Kate Middleton Charms the Heck Out of a Few Lucky Little Boys in Luxembourg

Prince William better watch his back, because a few pint-sized admirers of Kate Middleton caught her eye during her solo appearance in Luxembourg on Thursday. The Duchess of Cambridge, who practically floated through the afternoon in her dreamy blue coat, is in town to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the 1867 Treaty of London, which marked the nation's independence and neutrality. In addition to chatting with Crown Princess Stephanie at the Grand Duke Jean Museum of Modern Art, she also mingled with the gathered crowd.

While we love seeing Kate in any capacity, there's just something so charming about her interactions with kids. The mom of Princess Charlotte and Prince George couldn't help but smile and laugh as she chatted with a few small boys, who gifted her with a bouquet of flowers. Kate's other activities included meeting with young locals who work in education, culture, and business and attending a cycling-themed parade, where she met with children who are designing Tour de France jerseys.

13 Reasons Why's Brandon Flynn and Miles Heizer Share a Kiss in Emotional Short Film

Fans of 13 Reasons Why have been shipping a few couples from the show in the months since it premiered on Netflix. In addition to people wanting Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford to date in real life, they also can't get enough of Miles Heizer and Brandon Flynn. The two obviously share a very special and close bond, but Miles's rep shut down the dating rumors when he told Page Six that the two are just friends. But in a newly released short film, the actors hint that they might be something more.

In addition to appearing in 13 Reasons Why together, they also share the screen in Home Movies, a short film directed by Kevin Rios. The film created buzz at Outfest's Fusion Film Festival, which aims to promote work focused on LGBT issues and people of color. In the emotional clip, Miles and Brandon share a tender kiss as men talk about their coming-out experiences. Rios captioned the film, "In this home movie collection of gay men, memory serves as an act of hope, power, and above all, resilience." Whether or not Brandon and Miles are actually a couple, this is definitely worth a watch.

Next Vacation, Bring a Real Camera and Leave Your Phone the Hell Behind

Vacations are better when you leave your phone behind. There! I said it. But fellow millennials, hear me out, because I'm not a complete dinosaur. I'm certainly not suggesting flying to a different state or country without your phone entirely; I'm simply advocating for locking it in the hotel room safe and going down to dinner or the pool for a few unplugged hours, or at least turning it off and shoving it down into the depths of your purse. When I bring my phone along on vacation outings, I'm less likely to use it for those purposes and more likely to think, "Well, just one peek won't hurt!" and then get lost in hundreds of work emails, which is why I stopped bringing mine along and embraced phone-free travel.

I've discussed this same problem with several friends, all of whom admit that they've missed out on valuable relaxation (or exploration) time by getting sucked into their phones on vacation. And I'm not pretending that I'm somehow "above" social media or tech reliance; I still like to document my vacations, post occasional beach selfies on Instagram, and capture sweet moments with my family and friends. I just don't like doing it in the moment from my phone, which is why I am a huge fan of bringing real cameras on vacation.

I'm not as distracted by trying to frame the perfect Instagram of my poolside setup and am more intent on getting into the pool.

I used to lug my full DSLR camera, which takes stunning shots but proved to be a burden. Then, I went old school with an Instax Mini film camera but often found myself taking photos of the cute printed snaps because I wished they were shareable on social media. Since then, my hunt has ended after the Polaroid SnapTouch ($180) landed on my desk, because it gives me the sharability, simple editing tools, and pocket size of my cell phone's camera along with the instant printing abilities of my Instax. For now, at least, I'm done testing out cameras and ready to hit the road for Summer trips without a phone in hand.

But whatever camera works for you - or even no camera at all - I would highly recommend ditching that phone whenever you can. Sure, you might feel naked for a short while, but it forces you to fully experience your time away from home. When you're not glancing down at your iPhone for Yelp reviews or Facebook notifications, you're more likely to witness the small quirks of a new city or spot a dolphin out on the horizon.

In my experience, the feeling quickly fades from nakedness to liberation; putting away the phone takes my vacations that extra mile and connects me more deeply to the place I'm visiting. I'm not as distracted by trying to frame the perfect Instagram of my poolside setup and am more intent on getting into the pool. It's good practice in moderation for a modern world; and what better time to test your own technological reliance than while on a much-deserved break?

Exactly How to Make Big Money Selling Your Furniture Online

We love when the warmer weather comes around and we get that urge to purge all our extra stuff. Offloading furniture - to make room for new, fun pieces - can be a bit tricky, but it's totally doable. These days, with so much technology at our fingertips, more and more people are turning to the internet to sell everything, including furniture.

We asked Geoffrey De Sousa, chief curator for Previously Owned by a Gay Man, for a breakdown of how to sell your furniture, where to sell it, and how to make it appealing - including the one photo rule you should never break.

There is no bad time to sell

"Anytime of the year can be a terrific time to purge unwanted things from your life," according to Geoffrey. He said springtime and right before holidays tend to be when he feels there's an uptick in wanting to clean out, but any time you feel like clearing clutter, it can easily be sold to someone else.

The online furniture market is bustling

While it may seem a little wacky to sell something as cumbersome as furniture online, Geoffrey insists that it's the way to go. "You can reach so many more people," he said, especially if you use a site like Previously Owned by a Gay Man or even eBay.

Be realistic about pricing

Geoffrey said it's extremely important to not only do your research when pricing what you're selling but to also forget about what you paid for it originally. "I find that can be a stumbling block for some people. You'll need to be realistic - what will someone pay for this item?" You want to clear out your space, so sometimes going down on a price is what you have to do just to get rid of it.

Never put filters on sales photos

Filters distort what the piece of furniture truly looks like, so it's something Geoffrey said to always avoid. He recommends, however, taking the furniture outside to shoot in natural light, if you can. "It's great to show the piece head on, from all four sides, and from the top." He also noted that you should be sure to take detail shots, especially if your furniture has some wear and tear. You want to be honest with your potential buyers! He also suggested including photos of a label if it's a name that will attract more buyers.

Above all, make sure your furniture is clean

"Dust the entire piece, use some furniture polish on wood pieces, tighten any bolts that need to be tightened, fluff cushions - you know what I'm saying!" Put yourself in the buyer's shoes and think of it that way. Make sure your furniture is something you'd want to buy. Again. Since, you know, you did already buy it once.

7 Houseplants Even Trendier Than the Fiddle Leaf Fig

When it comes to trendy houseplants, the fiddle leaf fig tree has held a pretty strong monopoly for the last few years. You can't look at an interior designer's portfolio without seeing at least one fiddle leaf fig hanging out by a bright window. The problem is, we're kind of sick of them. They've become the superhero movie of the design world. In other words, we want something new. Plus, they're not the easiest plant to keep alive. Here are a few just-as-stylish alternatives to the fiddle leaf fig and how to care for them.

Mom's Message After Overhearing a Parent at Chick-Fil-A Talk About Her Boy With Disabilities

After a potentially painful and uncomfortable encounter, Leah Carroll has a message to the mom-of-three who was at Chick-fil-A with her three kids. Leah wants this fellow parent to know that she overheard the questions, saw the stares, and was blown away by her response.

"I sensed your panic when your 5-year-old son pointed at my son in his wheelchair and shouted, 'Mom look at THAT boy!'' Leah shared on Love What Matters Facebook page. "You leaned forward and quietly told him and his 3-year-old brother that we don't say things like that and they shouldn't point or stare."

Leah waited because she knew in most cases, telling a child not to stare or question her child's differences doesn't work because young, curious minds have questions that they want answered. "When you realized your whispers weren't working I saw the panic disappear and you took a deep breath and took a step of courage," she wrote. "You brought your boys over to Malachi and said 'I bet he would like to know your names!'"

Leah explained that as they said their names to Malachi, her child started grinning and chatting with the kids and that this interaction was more important than this amazing mom could've realized.

The joy on his face brought tears to my eyes- he loves kids his age but so many are fearful to come and speak to him. Your boys continued to ask questions about his foot braces, his wheelchair, why his legs don't work, why he holds his mouth open like that.

You took the time to educate your sons in that moment and help them understand that different is okay. Different is not something to fear. And that it was okay to ask questions! Thank you for giving my son a chance to meet your kids.

Thank you for being the type of mom who educates your children instead of frantically trying to silence them. Special needs moms have to develop tough skin - we get used to stares, comments, and whispers. Please know it takes a lot to offend us, particularly when the comments are coming from young children. Give your kids the same grace we give them and use the opportunity to teach them about differences.

So Chick-Fil-A mom, thank you for raising your children to embrace children like Malachi. And thank you for giving my son something to smile about."

The Touching Cartier Connection Between Princess Diana, Prince William, and Kate Middleton

Along with a laid-back lifestyle and charitable spirit, one of the things Princess Diana passed down to her son Prince William was a love for fine jewelry - especially beautiful Cartier watches. After her divorce from Prince Charles, Diana was frequently photographed wearing a gold Cartier Tank Francaise, a gift from her father, John Spencer. She bought William a similar timepiece from the famed French label, which she had engraved for one of his birthdays. After her death in August 1997, William chose to keep Diana's Cartier Tank as a memento - and in 2014, he gifted Kate Middleton with the Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch for their third wedding anniversary.

Not only was the watch on its own a beautiful way to connect his beloved mother and new wife, but William also went a step further by embedding a sapphire stone into the stainless-steel style to match Kate's engagement ring - which also belonged to Diana. William presented Kate with the Ballon Bleu de Cartier just before they embarked on their tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014, and she wore it nearly every day that they were there.

All-in-One Laundry Bombs

Laundry doesn't have to be a chore. Instead of lugging your detergent, stain stick, fabric softener, and your laundry to the washing machine, here's a homemade laundry bomb that does it all. You can pick up the basic ingredients at your local grocery store for a few dollars, making these little helpers seriously budget-friendly. Scent with your favorite essential oil for a personalized smell and you're ready to get washing.

What You'll Need:

  • Small mixing bowl
  • Grater
  • 1 1/2 cup washing soda
  • 1/2 cup Fels-Naptha
  • 2 tablespoons Epsom salts
  • 3 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 15-20 drops essential oil
  • Sheet pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Measuring spoons

Directions:

  1. Grate the Fels-Naptha into the mixing bowl and add the washing soda and Epsom salts. Fels-Naptha is a laundry bar soap that does a great job of attacking stains and cleaning your laundry. The boost of all-natural washing soda softens water while washing clothes. And the Epsom salts cut down on static cling and also soften fabrics once clothes hit the dryer.
  1. Now add the hydrogen peroxide and give things a stir. Hydrogen peroxide naturally whitens clothes and keeps your colors fresh. Stir in the vinegar, which busts through stains while leaving clothes soft. Then scent with several drops of your favorite essential oil.
  1. Once everything's incorporated, the mixture should resemble wet sand and clump together when pressed. Cover a sheet pan with parchment paper and then use a rounded 1 tablespoon measuring spoon to scoop up the mixture, press against the side of bowl, then tap out onto the pan. Finish with a quick spritz of equal parts vinegar and water. Let set for eight hours before using.
  1. Your laundry bombs are ready to toss in the washing machine! Use one round for small loads and two when washing lots of laundry. You'll love how they refresh your clothing without all the extra cleaners!

Makes around 28 laundry bombs. Want to try making more helpers for the home? Here's how to make 35 other cleaning supplies for pennies.

These LOL-Worthy Homework Assignments Fail So Badly They Win

After a long day in school, the idea of homework can drain the life out of both parents and children (but mostly parents, obviously). Kids will be kids though, so even in something as mundane as homework, children somehow find a way to make us laugh hysterically. Whether they were due to hilarious spelling errors, kid-drawings that could be interpreted as, um, other (inappropriate) things, or just the ol' Common Core blunder, these 22 homework assignments failed so hard that they win the internet and are cracking us up.

Deployed Dad Participates in Wife's Maternity Shoot in the Best Way

Since Nicole's husband Wesley is deployed, the expectant mom hired Traci of Traci Lynn Photography to capture maternity, birth, and hospital sessions during her pregnancy and delivery. Understanding what a bittersweet time this was for the couple, Traci came up with a way to include Wesley - despite the 7,000 mile distance - since he wasn't able to physically be there with his wife for the birth.

In order to achieve their military-inspired vision, Nicole utilized his photo and dog tags but Wesley also had someone take a photo of him overseas posing in the perfect position. Traci later photoshopped the photos together and created a breathtaking maternity portrait unlike any other. The final result left Nicole, Wesley, both of their families, and countless strangers who have since seen them overcome with emotion!

24 Fancy Things That Happen on the Most Luxurious Train in Europe

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is perhaps one of the most recognizable trains in Europe, and I was lucky enough to ride it. If you're not familiar, the original Orient Express was a staple of European travel, with nightly travel between Paris and Bucharest. Over the decades, it became a famous institution and a bucket list item for many avid travelers. In 2014, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express launched a once-in-a-life-time luxury experience. Recently, as part of a press trip to promote the upcoming adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express, I was invited to experience the iconic train in all its glory. And let me tell you, "fancy" doesn't even begin to describe those 24 hours. Curious to know what kind of crazy stuff happens on the tracks? I'm outlining the most extra of the extra things that went down.

Kate Hudson and Her Man Crash Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's Red Carpet Date Night

Goldie Hawn was surrounded by her loved ones at the LA premiere of her new film, Snatched, on Wednesday evening. Goldie - who was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame along with Kurt Russell - was her usual bubbly self as she practically floated down the red carpet with her longtime love and daughter Kate Hudson. The trio rocked coordinating outfits, and Goldie and Kate showed off their close bond as they hugged for the cameras. The premiere also brought out Goldie's costar, Amy Schumer, and Kate's boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa.

Goldie recently opened up about her 34-year-long romance with Kurt in an interview with People, saying she felt an instant connection with him on the set of their 1984 romantic war drama, Swing Shift. Even though the two have never officially tied the knot, they're still one of Hollywood's strongest couples, which Goldie credits to family, fun, laughs, and sex. "If you don't nurture that, and remember, you're done," she said.

Anderson Cooper's Eye Roll Perfectly Sums Up How We Feel About Comey's Firing

Following the breaking news that President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, Kellyanne Conway appeared on Anderson Cooper 360 to attempt some much-needed damage control. And she was met with quite the legendary eye roll from the show host - a pretty well-deserved one, if we do say so ourselves.

On May 9, the White House fired Comey for disclosing the bureau's investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails. This is despite the fact that Trump repeatedly praised the now-former director for said investigation throughout his presidential campaign. To prove just how contradictory his firing was, Cooper presented Conway with a series of clips demonstrating Trump's admiration for Comey.

Naturally, the counselor defended the POTUS' decision, but not before giving herself a hearty pat on the back, mentioning how she had previously appeared on Cooper's show and predicted they would win the state of Michigan. Cue the eye roll from Cooper (around the 10-minute mark in the video ahead of their exchange).

Let's get a better look at that purely candid reaction, shall we?

Though Cooper's eye roll seems a little sassy for cable news, we can't help but notice how it perfectly encapsulates how all of America feels right now about the whole situation. Thank you, Anderson, for gracing us with yet another gloriously fitting reaction meme that we'll probably be using for the next four years.

Yikes! 3 Popular Meats Have Been Recalled For Possible E. Coli Contamination

Today in scary food news, a ton of meat - about 5,620 pounds, to be exact - has been recalled for a pretty concerning reason. Marcho Farms, Inc. is recalling its veal, beef, and pork products due to concerns that they're tainted with non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli, which can cause fatigue, abdominal cramping, and dehydration. Yikes!

The meats were distributed to stores like Food Lion and Walmart in six states - New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Virginia - according to the official US Department of Agriculture news release.

Below is a list of the affected items, which were produced on April 11 and April 14:

  • 60-pound cases of "veal boneless trimmings halal" with case code "5398" and a manufacture date of "04/11/2017"
  • 60-pound cases of "veal trimmings USDA choice" with case code "98" and a manufacture date of "04/11/2017"
  • 9-pound cases of "veal, beef, pork ground for meatloaf" with case code "3122" and a sell-by date of "05/05/2017"
  • 10-pound cases of "veal, beef, pork ground for meatloaf bulk pack" with case code "3125"

If you recently stocked up on any of these meats for making those easy, breezy weeknight dinners, check the labels and toss anything that may be affected!

High School's Spin on 13 Reasons Why Should Be Implemented Nationally

The Netflix series 13 Reasons Why is still making waves nearly a month after its release due to its sensitive yet powerful nature. However, one high school is choosing not to glorify Hannah Baker's 13 reasons she took her own life and is instead having students make "tapes" for classmates that have been one of their "13 reasons why not."

Oxford High School in Oxford, MI, has unfortunately faced the aftermath of suicide before; in May 2013, 15-year-old Megan Abbott killed herself in a wooded area behind the school. In memory of Megan, the dean of the school, Pam Fine, came up with the "13 reasons why not" project after watching the Netflix show.

"I watched the series. I thought it accurately depicted the problems that teenagers in high school are facing now. But it was incredibly troubling to me that suicide was portrayed as being, almost, inevitable, like she had no other option," Fine told the Oakland Press. "The idea was to come up with 13 reasons why not, because that was not portrayed in the show. . . . Even though it can get very dark, there is always hope. Our message is that there are no 13 reasons why. Suicide is not an option."

Since May 1, recordings of students at Oxford have played after the morning announcements. On the "tapes," a student shares their struggles and issues they've faced, and rather than blaming someone at the end for doing wrong to them, they reveal a person that has helped them through it.

Senior Riley Juntti was the first student to go, and because no one knew about Fine's secret project, students were surprised but humbled by Riley's bravery and honesty. "Worthless. Self-centered. No morals. Easy. Grimy. Cake face. You would be better off dead. That's just the start of what you would label me as every day for two years," Juntti said in her recording. "This tape is for you, Elise Godfrey. You saw me when no one else did and continued to listen, share, and appreciate the small things with me. Thank you for your kindness I cannot repay. You are one of my 13 reasons why not."

By using the momentum the popular show created in highlighting mental illness, Fine has created a whirlwind in encouraging open communication - students have been writing out their stories for her in the hope that one of their 13 reasons why not could be featured over the morning announcements. "It was a risk, and it's paid off," she said. "I'm incredibly thankful for the response."

Megan Abbott's younger sister Morgan is now a junior at Oxford, and Fine says she created the project not only for Megan, but for Morgan as well. The girls' mom, Amy Hafeli, is fully supportive. "I thought it was a wonderful idea," she said. "It brought a positive spin on something so negative. . . . I'm proud of the school for getting involved and for putting that message out there - not just when it happens, but being proactive about it. Because, once it happens, what can you do? You can't bring the kid back."

Hafeli and Morgan both commented that they wished Megan could have been around to hear the messages. "I think if Megan had something like this going on in school when she was there, we would have had more time with her," Morgan said.

4 Lessons I Learned From Starting Over Professionally

I started my year of not knowing in May 2016. I was at a job I knew I wanted to leave for a while and, in fact, didn't realize how unchallenged I was until I left. Here's a tip - if you're eating more times a day than is necessary, have minimal desire to leave the house in the morning, and read about obscure Flemish designers on Vogue.com to pass the time, you probably don't like your job.

So, I found myself for the first time in my professional life not working - and I had never not worked. I knew it was time to start over from scratch which required lots of soul searching, meditating, and an amount of courage I have to summon hourly. My year is not over yet, but I've been getting so many questions about what I've learned in this extraordinary time-in-the-making, I put pen to paper and wrote it all down.

Lesson 1: Do Your Research and Don't Be Afraid to Reach Out

I made it my mission to find out everything that was happening in the digital entertainment industry. I felt like if I had a solid grasp on the landscape then I would know everything happening in my business and be able to make decisions. So, I called and emailed everyone. I LinkedIn messaged everyone. I never asked for a job; I just asked to have a meeting or a call and learn what was going on at their company. And guess what? When you're only asking to have a conversation with someone and learn (and you have a solid background to stand on) people are super nice! I had tons of meetings, excessively drank almond-milk lattes, and met a crazy number of people. I kept a spreadsheet tracking what everyone was doing and what they were looking for, so I would know where to take my various projects. I learned so much, it was awesome, and I quadrupled my network. Many people have asked me, "But how did you call people? You just called them?" Yes, I just called them. The worst they can do is say "no" or not answer your email. And guess what: they'll probably answer.

Lesson 2: Never Stop the Creative Cycle

I suppose this one is different in every industry, but I did not stop the creative cycle. I watched everything on the internet (since I'm in digital entertainment), and when I had no resources, I taught myself to shoot and edit a daily news show on Instagram. It was not glamorous (my poor host can attest to this), but it kept me busy, it kept my mind going, and it kept me being creative. Plus, it's a better use of time than sulking, which brings me to . . .

Lesson 3: Some Days Are Difficult (Like Really, Really Difficult)

Some days are really hard when you are in an extraordinary time of not knowing. Uncertainty is an inherently scary space. You have to rely on your resilience. You have to trust in the universe. You have to keep yourself from thinking you're a hack (you're not a hack!). Keep amazing friends and family around and they will remind you of how fantastic you are. Trust me, you've got this!

Lesson 4: Life Is an Adventure When You're Open to Everything

I find a lot of people seem stuck in a place where they don't know what they want to do and they don't know how to start. Just say "yes" and start. I started working again and creating work because I said "yes" to everything. Try it. And if you don't like it, don't do it again. But how will you know until you try? By saying "yes" enough times, you will find what makes your heart sing.

My year isn't over yet and I'm still navigating my path, but I'm so grateful for all the opportunities I've had, the people I've met, and the content I'm making that I'm overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement daily! Since I've embarked on my transformative year, every day is an adventure living out in the world. Life is fun. I'm doing what I love with awesome people. I would never have gotten here if I'd stayed where I was. What's more exciting than that? So say "yes" to everything, try everything, and take risks. And never forget to follow up on your invoices.

The Tragic Event in Meryl Streep's Life That Led to Her Happily Ever After With Don Gummer

Meryl Streep and Don Gummer have one of the most inspiring marriages in Hollywood, and the story of how they met is no different. Their meeting in 1978 was actually a result of a tragic event in Meryl's life - her partner, Godfather actor John Cazale, had just died of bone cancer. Don, who is a sculptor, was a friend of Meryl's brother and arrived in NYC with him to help her move out of the loft she shared with John. Although sparks didn't initially fly between them, Don invited her to move into his vacant apartment while he traveled and they corresponded through letters.

Meryl stayed in the apartment with Don even after he returned and began filming for Kramer vs. Kramer, the very role that led to her first Oscar. A romance blossomed between them, and they tied the knot in the garden of her parents' home six months after John's death. Meryl and Don later welcomed four children together - daughters Louisa, Grace, and Mamie and son Henry - and have been going strong ever since.

Watch a Blindfolded Eva Longoria Touch a Giant Lizard - You Know You Want To

When Eva Longoria appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden, things took an unexpected yet wildly entertaining turn. Eva joined James along with Paul Feig and Sam Richardson for a special edition of "Nuzzle Whaaa?," a game that required them to don blindfolds and nuzzle random objects with nothing but their faces to guess what those items were.

The first three mystery objects were pretty innocent - a wedding cake, disco ball, and ice sculpture - but the last one was pretty darn terrifying. Eva and James had to put their faces up against a giant live lizard . . . yes, really. Eva threw out a few hilariously random guesses while nuzzling (a possum, a squirrel, and a rat) before James successfully realized what the animal is.

Watch the entire clip above to see Eva go head to head with the lizard like the fearless boss lady she really is.

14 Stars Who Have Been In on the Braless Trend For a Long Time

When Kendall Jenner posted on her app about going braless, it caused a case of internet chatter. No one was exactly surprised, since she's been baring hints of her nipple ring through sheer tops for a while, but Kendall isn't the only one.

Stars throughout history have walked the red carpet in glamorous gowns without a bra, some making for buzzy moments (see Gwyneth Paltrow at the Academy Awards in 2002), while others, like Kate Moss and Jennifer Aniston, casually showed off the look on the street in nothing but a fitted tee. One scroll through the undeniably sexy looks here, and you'll definitely understand the allure, even if you're not ready to ditch your bra just yet.
