Selena Gomez's Dress Is Rock Party on 1 Side, Ethereal Angel on the Other
Selena Gomez's fashion game just keeps getting better and better. The singer is currently in New York City promoting her new single "Bad Liar," and her style has been a sight for sore eyes.
She recently wore four outfits in less than 24 hours. Stepping out in a structured wrap dress in the morning, a Christopher Kane tight maxi dress for lunch, a '90s-inspired slip dress look in the early afternoon, and this two-faced rocker look in the evening.
Thee 24-year-old's Shiana Mote dress had everyone doing a double take with its double personality, featuring a pinstriped black and white pattern on one side and a more ethereal cream skirt on the other. If you look closely, you'll also notice a twist detail at the waist that accentuates Selena's waist even more. She paired the $515 dress with a leather jacket and simple black sandals with clear heels. Keep scrolling to see her fabulous look and shop similar dresses.
Mom's Toilet Seat "Love Notes" Will Make Anyone Who's Lived With a Boy LOL
If you've ever lived with a boy age 2 and up, you know what it's like to walk into your bathroom and see pee droplets basically everywhere but the inside the toilet. Kristina Kuzmic is at a loss at this point over what to do about her ongoing bathroom battle with the boys in her life, so in a post to Facebook, the mom shared her latest attempt at getting her kids to pee inside the actual toilet: she wrote them "love notes" and taped them to the bowl.
When it comes to making your point as a mother, there's no method too petty.
Why Parents Are Obsessed With This "Milksicle" Teething Hack
When you stumble upon a handy hack, the best thing to do is share it with friends who will appreciate it as much as you do. But when you become a mom, these gems can feel more like true lifesavers among mom friends. Luckily for everyone, one mom posted about her recent breastfeeding trick, and people are obsessed with it because it's just that good: teething "milksicles."
This idea first took off after Tasia Blackwell shared a video of her baby "devouring his milksicle" that she made from frozen breast milk. She explained that this DIY (and free!) treat not only soothes his teething pain but also fills him up in a nutritious way. So basically this trick helps with teething, keeps little ones cool, doesn't cost anything, and is healthy - it's no wonder the idea is going viral just in time for Summer!

The Swatches of Lime Crime's New Mermaid Highlighters Are Brilliant
You already love Lime Crime's original Hi-Lite and Blossoms iteration, and now we've learned there's a truly (and we hate to overuse this word, but in this case it's accurate) magical version coming inspired by mermaids.
The Hi-Lite Mermaids palette ($38) is not out yet nor is the official date revealed, but you can sign up for a notification for when it will be available. And here's why you should: the colors are stunning! It contains three opalescent highlighter shades: Seashell (lavender), Pearl (ivory), and Mermaid (sea foam blue-green). Like its sister formulas, the silky powder blends easily into skin and adds a bold, brilliant shine.
We've reached out to the brand to find out any news on when these will drop, but until then, keep reading to see images of the palette and swatches of the colors!
How My Unlikely TV Habit Gives Me Newfound Hope For Democracy
2017 has been a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year for democracy.
Amidst a flurry of rollbacks, repeals, and pull-outs from the Trump administration, I've found myself searching for signs of the checks and balances I was taught to expect - hell, demand! - from our government. At the very least, some semblance of the (mostly) rational thinking that has traditionally been put forth by from the people in charge would be nice. Our legislative, executive and judicial branches feel exceedingly broken; it's as though the very ideals they were founded on are on the chopping block. Amidst all the chaos, however, there's one clear, shining beacon of hope. And despite how insanely boring it may sound, it comes in the form of congressional hearings.
Before your eyes glaze over, hear me out.
I've never been one of those people who actively seeks out the inner workings of government for entertainment. That is to say, you'll never catch me cross-checking the expected budget against realistic targets, or angrily shaking my fist at clauses in the full text of the AHCA, or hosting watching parties for bill votes. I'm more of a cable-news-and-internet gal, and the simple act of trying to watch hearings on CSPAN nearly put me off entirely. I don't get the channel in HD, and the pixelating images and distorted audio tends to make me feel like I've gone back in time. But once I discovered that I could stream the channel on my phone, the game instantly changed.
Almost overnight, I found myself becoming the kind of person who calls up friends and family and rants about how crazy and tunnel-visioned one senator was, or how one tiny detail that was maybe said offhandedly might actually be the truth we'd all been searching for. Congressional hearings were like the real-life version of Law & Order, except instead of being ripped from the headlines, they were making the headlines. As I said to my boyfriend a couple weeks ago, the congressional hearings were giving me life. They were a reminder of how things are supposed to work - and how two sides of the aisle can coexist in a way that feels like there's an end to all these means.
The Senate and House Select Committees on Intelligence have held several open, televised hearings on the Russia investigation over the last few months. And it's here that members of both chambers - and both parties - call witnesses to the stand and interrogate them on the things that we, the public, deserve to know the truth about. The witnesses can't reveal everything in open testimony, but the things that we're allowed to hear outside of the closed doors of briefing rooms have been some of the most incredible television I've ever watched. From Sally Yates telling the world that there was a "compromised situation" in the White House with Michael Flynn, to James Clapper's sassy clapback on the definition of leaks, to John Brennan's uncertainty about whether there was collusion - it was all pure, unadulterated infotainment.
Ultimately, it's the products of the quest for truth - and often, the direct acknowledgement of things that feel like they can't be right or just - that I've found solace in. To be clear, it's not a perfect process. The politics of both sides shows through in ways that are often cringeworthy. The leading questions, direct jabs across the aisle, and blatant disrespect to certain individuals almost always lead to an awkward silence thereafter, which is both completely intolerable and totally gripping. But at the same time, the fact that I ams watching something that feels like a defense against a broader insanity sweeping the country makes me feel like maybe, somehow, there is a reason to believe we'll get through these insanely dark times.
In just a few days, former FBI Director James Comey will give testimony in front of members of the Senate for the second time this year. It's a big deal: since he first took the stand back in May, he's been fired by the president and has been the center of wide-ranging questions about what's gone down - not just since Trump took office but in the lead-up to the election itself. And Comey is no stranger to the theatrics inherent to these hearings.
It was almost exactly 10 years ago that Comey testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on NSA surveillance. It was there that he dropped the bombshell that then-President George W. Bush had attempted to get Attorney General John Ashcroft to sign off on a wiretapping program from his hospital bed - and the only reason that they weren't able to pull it off was that Comey himself had run to the hospital and interceded in the nick of time. Not only was this "improper conduct" something that would stain the Bush administration for years thereafter, it also established Comey's reputation as a top-notch storyteller, buttressed by the fact that all of his stories were 100 percent verified truths.
Comey's testimony in early May was somewhat of a show-stopper in and of itself, with his now-infamous revelation that the fact that he may have influenced the election in any way made him "mildly nauseous." And while many of us may still question the motivation behind the timing and presentation of his announcements on the Clinton email scandal, it only adds to the dramatic tension that will play out when he takes the stand on Thursday to finally tell the story that's been years in the making. (Plus, as we now know, Comey is a meticulous note taker, and the man has receipts.)
Ultimately, we have no idea what will come of Thursday's hearings, or if any charges will be brought as a result of the investigations which the special prosecutor and the congressional committees are undertaking. But what I can definitively say, without a doubt, that in a year full of unexpected and disappointing developments, congressional hearings have given me hope for democracy. And for now, that's enough for me.

Why the Claim That "Britain Is Reeling" Is Just Wrong, According to an Actual Brit
In the aftermath of the terror attack that took place in London on June 3, various outlets fumbled in the way they referred to the UK's reaction to the violence. After The New York Times ran a headline that framed the nation as "still reeling," many outlets and anchors began to use the same phrase - which many Brits took issue with. On Twitter, a defiant hashtag emerged: #ThingsThatLeaveBritainReeling. On the latest episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver also weighed in on the American media's clumsy coverage.
At the top of the segment, Oliver took a few minutes to address the terror attack and say a few words to those affected. "As a British person living in America, I feel compelled to address a certain theme that emerged through American coverage of this tragedy," he said. The show then played a few clips that exemplified the doomsday mentality many major outlets perpetuated.
Oliver wasn't having it. "In no way is Britain under siege," he insisted. "Is it upset? Yes. Is it pissed off? Oh, you f*cking bet it's pissed off. But to say it's under siege and that its people are reeling is to imply that it's somehow weak enough to be brought to its knees by three monumental assh*les. That, as an idea, is insulting."

10 Tarte Products You Need to Add to Your Stash
Over the years, I've watched with great interest as Tarte Cosmetics evolved from a one-product powerhouse brand to a dominating force in the beauty industry. Founder Maureen Kelly debuted the iconic Cheek Stain blush in 1999 on counters of the New York City department store Henri Bendel. Now, Tarte sells dozens of products around the world through retailers like Sephora, QVC, and Ulta.
While Tarte has expanded dramatically, one feature has remained the same throughout the company's history: dedication to good-for-you ingredients. Kelly calls the line "eco-chic" and has ensured that each product is paraben-, phthalate-, gluten-, and cruelty-free. The formulas also boast maracuja oil, Amazonian clay, and other naturally derived ingredients that make each item potent with skin care benefits as well as pigmented. Read on to shop some of my favorites.

Mom Breastfeeding at Comic Con Proves That Even Superheroes Need to Refuel
If the fact that breastfeeding is an everyday superpower has ever been up for debate, any arguments against it can now be solidly put to rest. Sara Campbell-Hernandez, a mom who attended Comic-Con dressed as Black Widow with her son dressed as Captain America, single-handedly proved that even superheroes need to refuel - and sometimes that means sitting on a conference center floor and nursing.
Her husband shared a photo of the two to the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page, and Sara - who knew her son would get hungry during the convention - commented, "I made sure my catsuit was a zip-front for this very reason!" Sara's photo has inspired other moms to post their own nursing photos featuring both mama and baby dressed as superheroes, which you can scroll through below.

3 Surprising Realities of Visiting Magnolia Market in Real Life
If you've ever dreamed about heading to Waco, TX, to check out Magnolia Market for yourself - and what Fixer Upper fan hasn't?! - then you're going to be interested in what blogger Rachel Teodoro has to say. She's a Chip and Joanna Gaines expert, having interviewed Fixer Upper cast members and visited the Silos several times. She recently shared 11 little-known facts about visiting Waco and was kind enough to let us share some of the most surprising revelations about Magnolia Market below. Whether you're planning a visit yourself or just curious about what it would be like to pose beneath the #milestomagnolia sign and play bean-bag toss on the Silos lawn, we encourage you to check them out below. Then, head to Rachel's blog for the full story.
Joanna's Mom Welcomes Guests
You're probably not going to run into Chip and Joanna while visiting Magnolia Market, but if you visit on a Friday or Saturday, you're likely to see Joanna's mom, who greets guests those days. She's as gracious and lovely as her daughter - and willing to pose for a picture with you, Rachel says.
They Have Their Own Prayer Team
It's no secret that faith is a huge part of Chip and Joanna's life, but what few fans know, Rachel says, is that Magnolia Market has its own prayer team. They take the prayer requests they receive seriously, praying over all of them. The prayer leader seems to be Joanna's mom, who is often spotted with her hand outstretched in prayer over the land the Gaines build and work on.
There Are Some Shopping Deals to Be Had
The experience of visiting the store in Waco is undeniably more exciting than browsing the website, but the goods and prices are identical. While you'll return home with the memories of visiting Magnolia Market in person, Rachel says you won't return with any special goods that you couldn't also buy online.
Update March 15, 2017: Magnolia Market reached out to POPSUGAR to clarify that while about 40 percent of the goods in their Magnolia Market store are available in their online shop, the other 60 percent can only be purchased at the physical location. "Joanna wants to make sure that our guests that are traveling to Waco are able to purchase unique items that are not found online," a rep told us.

All Eyes Are Glued on Kendall Jenner's Ginormous Diamond Ring
Kendall Jenner stepped out with rumored beau ASAP Rocky while in New York wearing a simple gray sweatshirt, oversize blazer, and high-waisted jeans. She finished off her look with the same pair of stark white boots and mini Dolce & Gabbana bag she accessorized with at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic.
At first glance, it might seem like the supermodel's outfit is totally casual - until you spot that sparkly diamond band on a certain finger. Kendall upped the hype with this massive sparkler, and while we're not sure if it's an engagement ring, promise ring, or just some extra shine, it definitely makes her entire outfit. More Men Need to Stand With Planned Parenthood
The following story, "More Men Need to Stand With Planned Parenthood" by Doyin Richards, was originally published on Daddy Doin' Work.
Lately you may have noticed that I've been a lot more political lately. And whenever someone talks about politics on the Internet, some people absolutely love it, others absolutely hate it.
I've been doing this for long enough that I don't really give a sh*t about the hate anymore (and I'm sure I'll get a bunch from this post). I'm here to use my platform to share how I feel I can make the world a better place. And with that, I'm going to talk about something more men should talk about - Planned Parenthood (PP).
I have two young daughters. There is so much about the state of America that scares me to death when it comes to being their dad that I can't list them here for fear of slipping into a deep depression - and access to quality healthcare is definitely one of them.
The narrative that PP is an "abortion mill for those disgusting baby-killing liberals" is just plain dumb. Pro-choice does not equal pro-abortion - and whatever your thoughts are about abortion don't change the fact that it is legal here in 'murica. Secondly, a 2014 report shows that only 3 percent of the care PP provided were abortions. It also provides other health services such as cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, family planning, and many other vital services to families who may be unable to afford it otherwise.
From Planned Parenthood's 2013-2014 annual report
In other words, if PP is taken away, thousands of people will suffer and/or die. If you call yourself "pro-life," you can't be OK with that unless you're OK with outing yourself as simply being "pro-birth" (or outing yourself as a damn hypocrite . . . either one works). And just a heads up - if we really want to reduce the abortion rate, we need to provide as much access to family planning services as possible (including education and access to birth control). Nobody in America does that better than PP.
Not to mention, the proposed American Health Care Act (AHCA) is awful - and that's probably due to the fact that all of the people who helped to design the bill are dudes, but that's another story. If passed, this bill will leave 23 million Americans uninsured. That includes liberals, conservatives, Christians, Muslims, etc. Bottom line - it's just a terrible plan, and a solid amount of Republicans feel that way.
But let's get back to PP for a minute. Defunding this program by no means "makes America great again." America is great when even its lowest income citizens can have access to great healthcare. Mr. Sanders says it best.
Get the facts and understand that PP is far from the big, bad monster that some want you to believe. If you love and care for women and girls, you should want to fight to ensure PP stays alive. I'll be damned if I'm a guy who sits around while a bunch of out-of-touch men decide how women should handle their healthcare needs. Hell, the fact that it's 2017 and I'm actually writing about this is just one of many examples of why the rest of the world continues to laugh at us.
Enough is enough. We need to pressure the Senate to vote against the AHCA and the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
This post is made possible by support from The Mission List. All opinions are my own. Find out how you can put the heat on to help oppose the bill.

Sex and the City has been off the air for 13 years, but we remain as obsessed with Sarah Jessica Parker's portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw and the show in general as ever. She's not the only one; all the ladies of the show have some of the greatest one-liners - and some of the funniest, if NSFW, gestures. In here are some of the most hilarious moments ever on Sex and the City.

Sex and the City has been off the air for 13 years, but we remain as obsessed with Sarah Jessica Parker's portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw and the show in general as ever. The character has the best quotes and the best style, but one of the reasons we fell for her is how funny she is. She's not the only one; all the ladies of the show have some of the greatest one-liners - and some of the funniest, if NSFW, gestures. In here are some of the most hilarious moments ever on Sex and the City.
Queen Letizia Isn't Afraid to Wear a Good Outfit More Than Once - or Twice
When it comes to fashion, no one can call Queen Letizia of Spain wasteful. The royal wears and rewears the same pieces with total confidence - sometimes in the same month - getting photographed at official events and meetings with dignitaries in recycled outfits like it's no big deal.
Whether it's a classic white dress with black leather trimming, a trendy statement jacket, or even a white shirt and A-line skirt combo, the queen knows what styles work for her, reaching for the same outfit from head to toe often. We don't blame her! The classic items in her closet could really carry her through her entire reign. Keep scrolling to see just 30 of the many outfits the queen has grown fond of, then check out her style evolution through the years.
Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne's Sci-Fi Thriller Looks Incredible
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, not to be confused in any way with the fictional substance "Valyrian steel" from Game of Thrones, is a new sci-fi adventure from director Luc Besson. Known for 1997's The Fifth Element and 2014's Lucy, Besson has placed Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne at the center of this new film about time travelers who are sent to report on a galactic empire. Even if it doesn't sound like your jam, you have to see the trailers. One is set to a trippy version of The Beatles' "Because," which elevates all the space imagery to the next level, while the latest peek (above) is a technicolor explosion. Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, and John Goodman are also starring in movie, out July 21.

How the 13 Reasons Why Cast Reacted to the Show's Suicide Scene Controversy
It's been a while since 13 Reasons Why premiered on Netflix, but people just can't seem to stop discussing one of the drama's most graphic, controversial scenes. The show follows quiet high school student Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) after he receives a box of 13 cassette tapes from Hannah (Katherine Langford), his classmate and crush who killed herself a few weeks earlier. The writers and production team specifically didn't want to shy away from showing how Hannah kills herself, and a later scene in the series depicts the moment she graphically slits her wrists in a bathtub. Writer Nic Sheff wrote an op-ed defending the scene back in April, and on June 2, a few other important people from the show discussed their reactions to the controversy surrounding it at Netflix's 13 Reasons Why FYSee event.
"You always want to make a show that connects and I think we knew we were making a show we felt we were onto something with the show we were creating," executive producer and director Tom McCarthy explained to E! News. "You can never anticipate a response, especially with the young adult viewers . . . I don't know if controversy is the right word . . . it's a debate, it's a conversation and there are [people] on both sides who have very strong reactions to it, and I think that's exciting." He further added that the decision to show Hannah's death in that way was the result of a lot of back and forth, and they didn't approach it lightly. "You know they're going to live on, as this one has, but I feel as a company we felt this was the best way to go at it," he said. "To not shy away, and to really present it as it is. That came through a lot of discussion and serious thought and I think we all stand by it."
Langford, the 21-year-old Australian actress and Hollywood newcomer who knocked it out of the park with her first role, approached playing her character very seriously. On top of working with a psychiatrist, she also met with Rebecca Kaplan, the director of It's On Us, an organization dedicated to ending sexual assault. "I think by that point I had been playing Hannah for six months," she said of filming the contentious scene. "It was definitely something that we had precursors to . . . throughout the course of the season. I think part of it was just kind of having a backstory for Hannah and kind of having vicariously living through the events she's been through."
Minnette, her costar, admitted that he expected the controversy, but thought it would erupt far sooner than it did. "I thought it was going to come even quicker because I don't think people are used for this being addressed to their faces like this, so full on," he told E! News. "I knew it was going to come, and I think a lot of it has been for the better because it's only started more conversations."
Regardless of how you feel about the scene personally, there's no denying that its inclusion in 13 Reasons Why has sparked an important dialogue and touched many fans of the show. With a second season of the Netflix hit on the way, hopefully we can all look forward to similarly nuanced storytelling and honest depictions of the struggles teenagers face daily.

Why the "Worst" Job I Had Was Actually the Best
When I was a junior in high school, I decided I wanted to be a journalist. I had only a vague idea of what working in journalism was really like, but I suspected I was good at it. As editor in chief of my high school literary magazine, I continued our first-place winning streak at Florida's state HS journalism competition (yep, that's a thing). I loved the thrill of working on deadline, editing stories, and coordinating all of the moving pieces to get a publication to print. I neglected my math homework and enjoyed diagramming sentences in my spare time.
Sh*t got real when I was accepted into the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, which is essentially an expensive version of trade school, in that it prepares you for one career path. Before I continued down this very specific path, I figured I should sample my chosen field, which led to one of the weirdest and most valuable jobs I've ever had. I started at the absolute bottom, and the experience was valuable in ways I never could have imagined. Here is why no one should ever be afraid to take the crappiest job they can find in their chosen career.
1. It's Not Just a Job
As my senior year of high school wound down, I needed a Summer job, and while there's nothing wrong with working in restaurants and retail, an entry-level job in the career you think you want to pursue can help you decide if that career is right for you. And if it is, you get a head start on your résumé and on making connections in your industry. I started by asking anyone I knew how to get my foot in the door at the local newspaper, the Pensacola News Journal. Surely they had some entry-level job they'd give to an 18-year-old, right? Eventually, I hit an unlikely jackpot. The girlfriend of the mom of a kid I babysat had just been promoted from her job at the paper, and they needed to fill her position: part-time evening newsroom clerk.
Newsroom clerk was barely a journalism job, and it definitely wasn't prestigious. As the night clerk, I worked from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (admittedly, ideal hours for my 18-year-old self). I shared the job and a very dirty desk with the daytime clerk, whom I'm pretty sure lived in his car (no judgment; just providing context here). My random assortment of responsibilities included writing obituaries, compiling lottery numbers and front-page indexes, and listening to people complain on the "reader feedback line" voicemail. But I was thrilled: I had a paying gig in journalism already at age 18.
2. You Gain Relevant Skills
At major newspapers, writing obituaries is a prestigious job, since it involves crafting postmortem tributes to dignitaries and public figures. These were not the obits I was writing. I "wrote" the kind that people paid to publish in the paper, after filling out a form with all the pertinent info and some preferred wording. I had very little creative freedom, but I still wanted to be the best damn obit writer this town had ever seen, even if no one but me could tell the difference. I learned that I enjoyed the journalistic aspects: making sure the style was consistent across all the obits, calling funeral homes and sometimes grieving family members to fact-check details. I learned to be a professional interviewer and an accurate reporter, and I got over my fear of picking up the phone and calling strangers (in front of other people, no less).
Even weirder was my job listening to the "reader feedback line" voicemail, where citizens could call in with their opinions and might be quoted on the opinion pages. Not only was this highly entertaining, but it also taught me very early on that the most vocal readers are usually the angry, grumpy, and outraged ones. The reader feedback line didn't get a lot of warm compliments. Working in online journalism now, I'm fortunate to have learned early on that you can't take feedback too personally and it's best to ignore the haters.
3. You Can Observe the Culture
Even in the sh*ttiest job in the newsroom, I was still in a newsroom, and I very quickly realized that this work environment suited me. For the most part, it seemed people moved up the ladder because they were talented, not because of office politics. I was surrounded by funny, smart, irreverent people who weren't at all stuffy and, at times, downright outrageous: I once witnessed our grumpy, 60-something female copy chief shout (loud enough for the entire newsroom to hear): "How many c*cks do I have to suck to get this page proofed?!" These were my people!
I also got used to working in a fast-paced, loud office environment, and I grew accustomed to unpredictable workdays, where the plan could change at any moment if there was breaking news. Turns out, that was all great training for online journalism, where I ultimately ended up. I watched talented people who were willing to work untraditional hours and who stayed at the office until the work was done, which inspired me to do the same at future jobs.
4. You Get a Clearer Picture of What You Want to Do
At any entry-level job, you have to do stuff that sucks. But the parts of it you hate are valuable for two reasons: you're motivated to ask for extra (more rewarding) work, and you gain a clearer idea of what you like and what you don't like.
The task I hated most as a clerk was inputting new business licenses, which had to be published in the money section every month or so. I had to walk a few blocks to the courthouse with a laptop the size of a butcher block, request the newly filed business licenses, and manually input all of the information. Not only was it very boring, but it also made me sad to see how many pitiful people wanted to start businesses that were clearly awful ideas; think at-home Beanie Babies businesses with names like "Barb's Beanie Babies." But spending two hours doing that made me yearn for more rewarding work, so I asked for it. I pitched stories to the features desk and wrote them in my spare time; working all those extra hours was totally worth it when I got my byline in the paper. Plus, I got my foot in the door, which led to freelance work and a paid internship on the features desk during college.
I also got to witness the different roles at the paper - copy editors, feature writers, hard-news reporters - and talk to people about their jobs and observe their day-to-day lifestyles. In the break room or the "smoking hut," I asked writers and editors about their career paths, what stories they were working on, whatever. I realized that the idea of being a hard-news reporter sort of terrified me, and the features desk seemed more creative and fun. As a direct result of those observations, I decided to major in magazine journalism instead of newspapers. It was definitely the right decision, and one I couldn't have made without that first "crappy" job.
5. You Learn to Pay Your Dues
Perhaps the most valuable part of that clerk job was that it gave me perspective. I realized I should never be too proud to take on the most menial tasks. At every internship and entry-level job I had over the next five years, I never minded doing boring, often thankless tasks, like transcribing interviews or fact-checking, because I knew I could gain valuable knowledge and skills along the way. So far it's working out for me.
See The First Photos of the Official Beauty and the Beast Makeup Collection
Update: at this time, the lipstick set is sold out.
Wondering why there wasn't an official makeup collection centered around the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast? Us too. Disney caters to every detail when it comes to its theatrical releases, so we expected an announcement around the time the film was released, only to learn there wasn't anything in the works.
Sure, there was a limited-edition serum, a (unverified) full-range collection overseas, and even Beauty and the Beast-inspired brushes that weren't affiliated with the film. We even got nail polish. But the lack of authentic Belle-inspired makeup left something to be desired. Alice Through the Looking Glass had an official collaboration, as did the live-action Cinderella remake. This is arguably the most anticipated film of the year - so where is our Beauty and the Beast collection?
Perhaps Disney was testing our patience, much like the Beast's? It doesn't matter, because Lorac Los Angeles partnered with the House of Mouse on a limited-edition makeup collection, launching today! There's a 16-shade eye shadow palette, a cheek palette, and a lip gloss and lipstick collection. And you might shed a tear at how gorgeous everything is.

Apple's HomePod Is Like the Amazon Echo but Sleeker
Though it was rumored for months, Apple finally announced the HomePod at this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The HomePod is Apple's answer to the Amazon Echo and Google Home. It will have:
- Exceptional sound quality: The HomePod will come with "spatial awareness." This will allow the device to "detect" the space it's in and adjust the volume and sound to work in that environment.
- Six microphones to hear your commands: Just say "Hey Siri" and ask it to tell you the weather and sports scores and, of course, play your music.
- Siri will become a "perfect musicologist": Combined with the power of Apple Music, Siri will learn what songs, genres, playlists, and moods you like. You can also ask Siri in-depth questions about the music playing like, "Hey Siri, who's the drummer in this?"
- The HomePod cares about your privacy: Unlike the Amazon Echo that's "always listening," HomePod doesn't turn on or send any information to Apple until you say "Hey Siri." When you do say something, it sends the information to Apple with an anonymous encrypted Siri ID.
- Zero-stress setup: Like the AirPods, just hold up your iPhone next to HomePod to connect and start using it.
- You'll know when Siri is on: The "Siri waveform" is located at the top of the HomePod and will light up when Siri is activated.
- Two colors: The device will come in white and space gray.
The HomePod will cost $349 and ship out in December. See photos of the device ahead.
Why I Quit My Job in New York City to Backpack Across Europe
I can still remember the look on my husband's face when I asked him the question. It was a thought that had been brewing in my mind for quite some time, and suddenly, as we squeezed into the already-crammed F train, the words spilled out of my mouth.
"Do you want to quit our jobs and backpack across Europe?"
While I was expecting a hysterical are-you-serious laugh in return, he looked around at the sardine can we were currently packed into, smiled, and said, "Let's do it."
And so, the planning began. It took 15 months of shoving every cent we had into savings, but before we knew it, we were buying backpacks, selling what belongings we had in our 400-square-foot Brooklyn apartment, and giving our two-week notices at work. The time had come to pop the comfort bubble we had formed in a city we were head over heels in love with to embark on a new adventure.
While we were fortunate to have the encouragement from our family and friends, not everyone understood our decision. For some people, they digested our plan like this: here we were, in our mid-20s, living in the "city of dreams" with well-paying jobs, about to willingly throw it all away. Crazy, right? Yet what they may not have realized was how we had long contemplated this decision. It was a decision that felt right and one we were confident in making.
As I reflect on the 71 days spent backpacking across Europe, I smile knowing I have no regrets. While quitting a job to travel isn't for everyone, it was right for us. Those 10 weeks were by no means glamorous, but they were filled to the brim with inspiration, which made any obstacle encountered well worth it.
For those of you with thoughts of taking a big leap on a similar adventure but still clinging onto fear and hesitation, I am here to shine a light on why you should take the jump, why you will become a better person because of it, and tips on how your dream can be affordable. Here are four lessons I learned from stepping outside my comfort zone and giving up stability.
What You May Not Have Known About Grace Kelly's Untimely Death
Grace Kelly passed away on Sept. 14, 1982, and the details surrounding her death are still just as tragic. The Princess of Monaco was 52 when a stroke caused her to lose control of the wheel and crash her 1971 Rover P6 3500. On a Monday morning, Grace and her daughter Stéphanie, who was 17 at the time, prepared to leave for the palace after spending time at their country home in Roc Agel. They had tickets for a train to Paris, where Stéphanie would start school that Wednesday. After filling the rear seat with dresses and large hat boxes, Grace told her chauffeur that it would be easier if she drove. Even though he tried to persuade her to let him drive, saying that he could come back for the clothes, she insisted the two make the journey without him.
At about 10 a.m., Grace, with her daughter in the passenger seat, pulled away from Roc Agel and headed down the hill and into La Turbie, a commune in southeastern France. Approximately two miles from La Turbie, Grace missed an especially steep turn, causing the car to crash into a retaining wall and drop more than 100 feet over a cliff. When paramedics arrived, Grace was alive but unconscious and in critical condition. She and Stéphanie were transported to the Monaco Hospital, which has since been renamed the Princess Grace Hospital Centre. A day later, she suffered a second hemorrhage and never regained consciousness. While it has been widely thought that she succumbed to her injuries from the crash, Grace actually died on Tuesday night after her husband, Prince Rainier, chose to take her off life support.

On the following Saturday, over 400 people, including Cary Grant, Nancy Reagan, and Princess Diana, said farewell to the Hollywood icon, while close to 100 million viewers tuned in on TV. The funeral was held at Saint Nicholas Cathedral in Monaco, where Grace had her fairy-tale wedding to Prince Rainier in 1956. Stéphanie, the youngest of Grace and Rainier's three children, was not present at the funeral as she was still being hospitalized for minor injuries from the accident. After a requiem mass, Grace was laid to rest in the Grimaldi family vault.
4 Intriguing Theories You Should Dive Into After Finishing The Keepers
It's hard to walk away from Netflix's The Keepers without some theory formed in the back of your mind; after watching interviews with suspects and hearing testimony from victims, most viewers developed suspicions even though the documentary series ended unresolved. And as we've learned from other cult-favorite true crime shows like Making a Murderer, nobody plays the theory game better than Reddit.
Several subreddits, including /r/The_Keepers and /r/UnresolvedMysteries, have become hotspots for speculation about the seemingly intertwined fates of Sister Cathy Cesnik and 20-year-old Joyce Malecki. In the aftermath of the hit docuseries, theories have arisen based on new developments in the case and an Ask Me Anything with the show's director. While it's possible to spend all day digging for possible explanations for the murders, there are a few particularly gripping theories that are worth reading once you finish binging the show.
Read on for four of the most compelling Reddit theories so far; they'll help fill the Netflix-addiction-size void in your heart.

Carrie Underwood Says Husband Mike Fisher Is the "Only Fish in the C" For Her
Carrie Underwood just can't stop singing Mike Fisher's praises. After showing her unwavering support for her husband's hockey team, the country singer wished him a happy 37th birthday complete with a ridiculously corny joke. "Happy birthday to this handsome hunk! I'll never forget the day he told me he was asked to wear the 'C.'" she wrote alongside a photo of Mike, holding up his captain's jersey for the Nashville Predators.
