Here's Everything You Need to Know About Pixar's Día de los Muertos Movie, Coco
After years (no exaggeration here, it's been years!) of anticipation, Disney and Pixar have finally revealed major details about their upcoming Day of the Dead animated film, Coco. Though the internet had a mini freak-out when Disney tried to copyright the phrase "Día de los Muertos" back in 2013 when the concept for the movie first came about, it sounds like the team recruited for the project is determined to honor the day's cultural roots. After seeing the all-Latino cast, which includes Gael García Bernal and Benjamin Bratt, and reading director Lee Unkrich's quotes on the plot of the movie, we have high hopes for Coco. Scroll ahead to find out everything you need to know and watch the first teaser trailer.
Well, It's Official: Reese Witherspoon and Ava Phillippe Can Now Pass For Sisters
Reese Witherspoon brought her 17-year-old daughter, Ava Phillippe, along for the LA launch of her Draper James collaboration with Net-a-Porter on Tuesday. The mother-daughter duo (who, let's be honest, can totally pass for sisters) posed for photos in sweet summery dresses at the chic Beverly Hills soiree, which brought out some of Reese's celebrity friends, including Jennifer Garner, Chelsea Handler, Rachel Zoe, and Camila Alves. We love getting to see Reese and Ava together; the last time they hit the red carpet was back in February at the premiere of Reese's hit HBO series Big Little Lies, but the actress also treated us to a few cute snaps of her look-alike daughter on Mother's Day in May and a family beach day in April.
7 Track Pants You Can Actually Wear to Work
Until recently, wearing track pants to work or out on a date night have been weird. But right now, not only is it acceptable but it's superstylish. This comfy trend is taking over, and we all should take advantage of it for as long as it lasts. The pants are superversatile - you can dress them up with heels or down with sneakers. So say bye to your jeans this Summer and fight the heat in these cool picks.
The Gut-Healing, Digestion-Aiding Elixir You Need to Add to Your Diet
Chances are, if you're into healthy eating and wellness, then you've heard of, seen, or tried bone broth. Do you know what it is? Why it works? Let's break down this powerful health elixir and find out what makes it so special.
What Is It?
Soup! Bone broth is chicken (or beef . . . or even fish!) soup, made old-school style, by simmering all the extra pieces of an animal into the soup (i.e., the bones) for hours before straining and serving. This allows the heat and time to break down things like cartilage for the benefits of gelatin and collagen, two things we don't often get in our diet. Hence, one of the reasons why it's good for you - and your gut!
What Are The Benefits?
- Digestion Aiding: Like collagen supplements, bone broth can aid in digestion and gut health thanks to collagen content and nourishing glutamine and glycine (two amino acids that "help repair cells and heal gut inflammation," according to clinical and holistic dietitian Esther Blum).
- Protein Packed: It's rich in protein and can help build healthy muscles and keep you full for a long period of time.
- Stress Relieving: It's consumed hot, and hot beverages are known to be soothing and may even relieve anxiety.
- Immune Boosting: Some sites claim bone broth can boost your immune system, citing research from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Where Can You Get It?
If a café near you isn't serving up a hot cup of broth, you can make your own or get some instant broth mix from Dr. Amy's or Vital Proteins. You can also pick up readymade broth from companies like Bru Broth, Kettle and Fire, and Bonafide Provisions in health-food grocery stores.
Power Your Next Disney Visit With This Glowing Lavender Lemonade
In celebration of Disney California Adventure's new Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, the park unveiled an epic menu for the Summer of Heroes celebration this Summer. One of the menu items that seems to be popping up all over Instagram - besides that adorable Baby Groot bread - is the glowing Infinity-Ade drink.
The refreshing, nonalcoholic beverage is really just lavender lemonade. At $8, the drink comes with a glow cube that you can later reuse. According to a Disney enthusiast who tried the Infinity-Ade, patrons are able to choose the "infinity stone," which is basically the color of the glow cube. Another Instagram user who tried the drink said, "You really taste the lavender and it's heavenly."
The Summer drink will be available at Schmoozies in Hollywood Land until Sept. 10. Look ahead to be mesmerized by this illuminated lemonade.

Can You Spot the Kid Drowning in This Public Pool Before the Lifeguard Does?
A day at the pool isn't all fun and games - and no one knows that better than the lifeguard.
Drowning can happen in the blink of an eye and even when people are within arm's reach of the victim. As much as we think we might notice someone struggling in the water, drowning is often a silent killer.
Thankfully, in this real-life video taken at a public wave pool, a boy is spotted drowning within seconds by a resourceful lifeguard - likely well before anyone watching this footage, even knowing what to search for, could spot him.
The lifeguard sounds her whistle, swims out to the boy who lost hold of his floating ring, and carries him to safety.
One important factor to note is that this video includes sound, but you never hear the boy's cries for help. That's because when someone is drowning, contrary to what many assume, they can't call out - there isn't time to inhale or exhale. Often, they aren't able to wave their arms, which was a lucky ability for the child at this particular pool.
So can you find him?

The Swedish Royal Family Celebrates National Day With New Photos of Estelle and Oscar
Tuesday marked National Day in Sweden, and the royal family celebrated by releasing two precious portraits of Princess Estelle, 5, and Prince Oscar, 1. The daughter of Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel is pictured wearing a traditional Swedish dress, while her little brother is shown in a striped shirt and light-colored pants. Both photos were taken on the grounds of Haga Palace, where the kids live with their parents. Back in April, we caught another adorable glimpse of Estelle and Oscar during King Carl XVI Gustaf's 71st birthday. Even though it was the king's big day, it was his grandchildren who stole the spotlight with their cute antics. Hopefully we'll get to see more of the royal family in the months to come.

The 1 Photo Going Viral to Help Women Detect Breast Cancer
Earlier this week, many Facebook users were posting red hearts in support of breast cancer awareness, but one woman is opening up about why a "cute heart" isn't going to help save lives. Erin Smith Chieze posted the photo above on Facebook, giving an explicit description of how breast cancer can look and feel, and it's going viral for all the right reasons. In response to all the red hearts Erin has seen on Facebook, she explained the importance of these lemons.
"In December of 2015 when I saw an indentation that looked like one of those pictures, I instantly knew I had breast cancer," she wrote. "I tried to feel for a tumor, but my tumor was non palpable. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 5 days later and with stage 4 the following month. A heart did nothing for awareness. I knew what breast cancer was. I knew all about self exams, but a picture of what to look for keyed me into knowing I had a terminal disease."
She continued, "We need to give REAL information, not cute hearts. Without having seen a picture randomly with real information, I wouldn't have known what to look for. Do us a favor, stop playing games with my life and start truly helping people. Metastatic breast cancer treatment research and real awareness."
After feeling frustrated by the red hearts on Facebook, Erin decided to take matters into her own hands and post her touching story in an effort to help save lives the way a similar photo helped her. This image is part of the Know Your Lemons campaign started by the Worldwide Breast Cancer organization. It's an incredibly informative graphic that both men and women should use for self-exams.
"PLEASE, stop playing games that do not actually promote awareness, they often cause people to tune out anything that might even mention the word awareness," Erin wrote. "So if you truly want to help people WITH cancer, or those who will GET cancer, share photos like this one."

"Sometimes a guy comes up next to you and sort of does a double take while you're taking a piss," he said. "And then he looks back forward, and then he looks at your dodger, and then he looks back at you and says, 'Are you Jon Snow?' That was Ed Sheeran." Kit added, "Now we're friends, which is great. He's a great guy." Now we're even more excited to see Ed Sheeran's Game of Thrones cameo!

This Ballerina's Romantic Farm Engagement Shoot Is on Pointe
Tiffany and Shane honored their engagement with a romantic photo session at Wild Oak Iris Farm in Redlands, CA. 17 Burning Questions We Have For Orange Is the New Black Season 5
Orange Is the New Black's fifth season will be here before you know it (sort of), and we have more than a few questions for it. Season four ends on a massive cliffhanger, with a riot about to break out and Daya wielding a weapon. Of course we're wondering how that story will wrap up, but there are a lot of other things going on in the prison that need resolution. While we're poring over all the season five details we have so far, let's review the questions we still have about season four.
Dad's Important Question For TSA After They Discarded His Wife's Breast Milk
One dad who recently went through airport security with his wife and 9-month-old child has an important question for TSA after they discarded his wife's breast milk: "Wondering why mother's milk was tossed by TSA and why they considered it 'dangerous' when we had passed though security several times with milk and had no problem before."
Although many breastfeeding mothers, whether they were traveling with their baby or not, have experienced this kind of treatment from TSA before, hearing a dad's perspective on the matter is unique. The dad, who goes by "Tamachan5" on Reddit, wrote a post in the breastfeeding subreddit explaining his family's experience and looking for answers.
"So, TSA decided that my daughter's lunch was dangerous and had to be discarded," he wrote. "Mind you, until that particular incident, we were pleasantly surprised by the good service and common sense by the agents in all our interactions with them during our trip."
The little family had made several stops on their trip already, passing through security just fine in Dallas, San Antonio, and New York City, but the dad says "things turned sour" on the last leg of the journey.
We were going through security when the female TSA agent checking the milk called the supervisor. I had noticed, that unlike previous times where they checked the milk for a bit and then gave it to us after a couple of minutes, this time it was taking longer. After a few more minutes, the supervisor decided "an alarm had gone off" and notified us that the milk we had for the trip was not allowed to go through, and he would have to discard it.
We asked if the baby could drink the milk in the offending bottle instead of being thrown away, but this was not acceptable. I got a pat down by an agent (very professional, mind you) and we were let trough after a while. I WANTED to ask a question to the officer but knew better than to argue or seem "argumentative" (we all know where that road goes, eh) so I kept my mouth shut.
So here is the question: why, if the same expressed milk from my wife was used, in the same bottle, in the same container and with the same ice packs, on different dates, and we did not have a problem before, did they throw [away] this particular milk?
Although clearly perturbed, the curious dad ends his post on a positive note: "At least we still had plenty of time left before our flight. They have a great nursing room in [Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport] (San Antonio Airport, your nursing room smells like poop, by the way - fix it) so baby did not go hungry."
This 2-Year-Old Survived After Being Knowingly Left in a Hot Car, but It's Not a Happy Ending
If you've seen one video of a baby being rescued after being left in a scorching hot car, you've seen one too many. So when a YouTube video from the scene of a similar rescue in New Jersey was posted last night, we almost didn't want to watch. But we did, and so should you. Why?
Because as long as it keeps happening, we - not just moms or dads or grandparents - need to be reminded about the very real consequences. Because although this video had a "good ending," as one commenter noted, we can't help but wonder if "good" is the best description. Yes, the 2-year-old boy left inside a minivan on a hot July day in a Costco parking lot survived. Police noted that he was drenched in sweat, and when the mother - who, judging by the vehicle's windows being rolled down an inch, knowingly left the toddler - returned to the car with another child and a full cart of groceries, all she said was "sorry."
Chaeyoung Lim-Kim was arrested and charged with child endangerment and released on her own recognizance. Her son was taken to the hospital and is now in the custody of his father. This family's life has been turned upside down.
So if any "good" can come from this, let it be that you will always remember your baby in the backseat and that you will always, always stop to help a child in danger.

What It's Like to Hike Colorado's Famous "Fourteener" Mountains
Colorado currently has 58 mountain peaks that are at least 14,000 feet in elevation or taller, also called "fourteeners." The state has a lot to offer people who love nature, and its numerous outdoor activity options like climbing, kayaking, biking, fishing or hiking want to make you go outside, explore, and seek adventure. Its countless national parks, monuments, and preserves will fill your trip with endless options to explore if you're into the outdoors.
During a recent trip to Colorado, I climbed Castle Peak, my very first fourteener. Being in nature and experiencing solitude to such degree gives me a sense of freedom and calmness. It provides me with quietness and space to think without being interrupted and sidetracked. It often feels like a soul-searching experience when being out in the wilderness. This time, I wasn't spared from getting sick due to the high altitude. The higher the altitude, the thinner the the air, the heavier and slower my steps. Being at such great heights, your body adjusts slowly to the lack of oxygen since your heart and lungs have to work a little harder than usual. If you plan on going on a hike at high elevation, hydrate plenty, add electrolytes, and eat carbs! This will make your goal of reaching the peak easier. Take a peek at the photos ahead to see what climbing one of Colorado's tallest mountains is like.
Ariana Grande and Mac Miller's Love Story Can Be Traced Back to 1 Tweet
Ariana Grande and Mac Miller are known for keeping their romance pretty private. Aside from a few Instagram pictures here and there, the two rarely talk about their relationship, though Ariana recently sparked engagement rumors when she wore a diamond sparkler on her ring finger. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, it's also worth pointing out that Ariana and Mac never actually confirmed their relationship, either (sensing a pattern?). Let's take a walk down memory lane and see how their love story really began.
We Can't Get Enough of Steph Curry's High Kick During Game 1 of the NBA Finals
During Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Finals, the Golden State Warriors made it clear that they're seeking revenge after losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers last year. While Kevin Durant was getting attention from Rihanna and the Warriors did beat the Cavs, Steph Curry is the one who really deserves an applause. After the point guard drilled a three-point shot, he celebrated in one of the most epic ways imaginable: with a set of high kicks.
Check out the celebration below.

Curry may be one of the best shooters the league has ever seen, but honestly, if the team loses the series, he's got a high kick that could land him a new career. We're thinking either a Rockette, a cheerleader, or even a punter for the NFL. The Warriors still remain undefeated in the playoffs this season, but we'll see if any of the Cavaliers players can beat Curry's high kick.
Keep reading to see some of the hilarious reactions to Curry's celebratory high kicks.

The 1 Thing to Always Say to Your Child After Disciplining Them
Parents spend so much time worrying about how to discipline their kids, that they are forgetting about a step that is just as crucial: what to do afterwards.
According to developmental psychologist Ashley Soderlund, we need to "empower them" to change their behavior.
"Children live in the here and now and young children, in particular, think in a 'fixed' mindset, meaning that they don't naturally assume things can or will change," Soderlund wrote in a blog post on Nurture and Thrive. "We have to teach them that they can change their behavior, that they can grow."
So, how to do it?
When your child does something wrong, she suggests a few simple steps to correct the behavior. If your kid grabbed a toy that another child was playing with, you should use your go-to disciplinary strategies - including correcting the behavior and offering alternative solutions.
But before you let them move on, you need to "empower them to change and diffuse their negative feelings" by saying the following four words:
"You'll remember next time."
Or, in this case, you could get more specific and say, "You'll remember next time to wait your turn." Soderlund maintains that the simple phrase communicates so much to children.
"It tells them that their failure today isn't a permanent failure that they can't change and it gives them something positive to focus on," she said. "'You'll remember next time to use your words.' It also helps them resolve their current feelings - I feel bad now, but next time I can do better - and gives them a sense of relief and a desire to try next time."
A mom herself, she uses the phrase all the time with her family and has found it is most effective with 2- and 3-year-olds.
"Little kids don't remember easily," she admitted. "Changing toddler behavior takes practice and opportunity and if you empower them along the way they will internalize those behaviors."

"'You'll remember next time to use your words.' It also helps them resolve their current feelings – I feel bad now, but next time I can do better – and gives them a sense of relief and a desire to try next time."
A mom herself, she uses the phrase all the time with her family and has found it is most effective with 2- and 3-year-olds.
"Little kids don't remember easily," she admitted. "Changing toddler behavior takes practice and opportunity and if you empower them along the way they will internalize those behaviors."
Does Your Dog Really Need to Eat Organic Food?
As health-conscious humans, we're constantly sifting through the research about whether organic food is better. And as pet parents, we always want to put the best in our pups' bowls. But does organic matter as much for dogs, or is it just another marketing ploy? After doing a lot of digging, I discovered that it's often not all it's cracked up to be for pups. Here's what you need to know before buying:
"Organic" dog food is not well regulated
One of the biggest issues with buying your pup organic is that, unlike for human food, there aren't great standards in place: the USDA has yet to define "organic" as it applies to pet foods, so the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) sets the standards for the National Organic Program (NOP), and the individual states are supposed to regulate them
An "organic dog food" label can be misleading
Technically, the NOP mandates that if companies want the coveted organic seal on the food, at least 95 percent of the food must be organic by weight. Labels can say they're "made with organic ingredients" if at least 70 percent of the ingredients are organic. Here's where it gets tricky: pet food companies can say they're organic even when their food doesn't contain organic ingredients because no agency requires proof of the pet food health claims.
It may be "organic," but still not healthy
Unfortunately, being "organic" does not guarantee that food is good for your pup: Even if what you buy does contain organic ingredients, they may have been heavily processed in order to make the food shelf stable (thus stripping them of their nutritional value.) Plus, according to Greg Aldrich, PhD, research associate professor and pet food program coordinator at Kansas State University, it's difficult to secure the raw ingredients to produce a truly organic pet food within the framework of the AAFCO guidelines. So the food may be organic, but not nutritionally complete.
You may be paying more unnecessarily
The word "organic" is often used to increase the seeming value of the food (and to charge you more!). But because the commercial dog food category is still lacking in strict regulations, there are some organic brands that are using chemicals and preservatives in their food. Others will slap on an organic label without being completely honest about their ingredients. So you might be paying more for food that isn't worth it.
Organic ingredients aren't necessarily better for dogs
"There is no documented positive, nutritional, health, or safety benefits to organic," Aldrich says. There have been studies about the pros and cons of grains, raw food, and specific ingredients, but research on organic ingredients in a dog's diet is surprisingly lacking. So we really don't know - they could be healthier for pups or they could be the same. What we do know? The most important thing is that your dog eat a healthy diet made with real, high-quality ingredients that are nutritionally balanced. Think about it: Would you rather eat organic gummi bears or a fresh salad with ingredients that aren't all organic? Exactly.
I Found the Love of My Life - and I've Never Taken It For Granted

Early in my sobriety I decided to go to Greece for potential modeling work. Don't get all excited. It's not like I was doing shoots for GQ. Instead I was modeling for the Sears catalog and did one Dentyne ad, which featured mostly my back and one-fourth of my face. When I got to Greece I was filled with the crazy sense of gratitude. I had always dreamed of going to Greece, but it never seemed like a possibility to me. It was way out of reach, but I thought I was newly sober and my world had been so small it was time to explore it.
It turns out that I wasn't the look that they were into that particular season so I didn't book any work. I had been in Athens for almost three weeks and I decided that maybe it was time to go home but not before I went to Mykonos. I had heard so much about it from friends so I was DYING to go. After an eight-hour ferry ride from Athens, I arrived and I felt like I had died and gone to heaven! The beaches, the white houses, the food, the dancing! I was having the time of my life.

On my last night there, a friend I had met while traveling stopped to talk to someone he had met on the beach. I stood waiting for him to finish when I heard, "Hi. Do you want to try some of my dessert?" It was Gary. I couldn't believe he was talking to me. He was so handsome, so tan, and super funny. He asked if we wanted to go the bar with them and I said yes of course. We ended up at Piero's. Drag queens, muscle boys, models, fashion designers (I met Alexander McQueen on the dance floor here) - it was a feast for the eyes. The evening turned into the morning and the morning into me extending my stay in Mykonos after Gary asked me to and we even tacked on a few days in Santorini. I honestly couldn't believe any of this was happening to me.
I went back to Athens to spend his last night in Greece with him and I was overwhelmed with emotions, to say the least. It had been a week unlike any I could've ever imagined and it was all coming to an end. It was a pretty magical time as no cell phones worked internationally so we were able to be present with one another and really enjoy the experience. I didn't really have any expectations. I thought if it was a Summer romance than I would have the amazing memories, but if it did turn into something more I would be ecstatic. We just fit so well together but there were so many roadblocks in our way. He lived in LA and I lived in Toronto, being the biggest one. He left and went back to LA and I stayed on in Athens. We talked every day on the phone and finally he said, "Come to LA and hang out. Let's see what this is." A day later I was on the plane to LA. Sometimes things just align perfectly and they work out. We have been together ever since. We still talk about how we met all these years later. In July we will celebrate 16 years together. It has been the best 16 years of my life.

Gary and I have been back to Greece many times since we met. It is a very special place to us. Almost three years ago, Gary and I were vacationing in Mykonos and he proposed to me while we were watching the sunset. I wasn't expecting it at all but it is a day I won't forget. We were both so excited to call our families and tell them. Both of our families love and support us.
I am so grateful that I have that luxury as I know not everybody does. We still have yet to set a date or a location or anything really but will soon. That Summer in Greece will always be one of the most special moments of my life. The moment I met Gary my life changed and it continues to get better and better with every passing year.
In Addition to Being a Great Dad, Jason Momoa Is (Literally) a Huge Mama's Boy
Jason Momoa has some serious love for his mom, Coni. The Aquaman actor was raised by his "strong, single mother" in Norwalk, IA, and has shared a number of sweet moments with her since making it big in Hollywood. Whether he's taking her out to various red carpets or posting selfies with her on Instagram, it's clear to tell they share a special bond. Not to mention, he always writes the sweetest messages for her birthday. During his short film, Canvas of My Life, in 2016, he even gave a special shout-out to his mom, who is a photographer and artist, crediting her for his love of skateboarding and his sense of adventure. While we love seeing him in dad mode with his and wife Lisa Bonet's two kids, his mother-son moments certainly hold a special place in our hearts.
Cue the Nostalgia! Mae Whitman Congratulates George Clooney on Welcoming Twins
Fans of the '90s romantic comedy One Fine Day will definitely appreciate the sweet shout out actress Mae Whitman gave to George Clooney this week. Back in 1996, Clooney melted hearts when he played Mae's charming dad in the movie, which also starred Michelle Pfeiffer. (Note: If you haven't seen this movie, you should, because it's a gem.) This week, following news that he and Amal welcomed twins on Tuesday, Mae took to Twitter to share her best wishes. Alongside an adorable picture, she wrote, "Hey congrats george on our new additions to the family love your OG babykid."

7 401(k) Mistakes All Millennials Should Avoid
Ah, retirement. More time to travel and spend time with loved ones. Sounds great - assuming you can afford it! While it might be decades away, you need to start planning for it now. But you already knew that, right? Still, once a year when your 401(k) rep stops by the office for a presentation, you may find yourself zoning out as they go on about "target-date funds." Hopefully, despite the dry nature of retirement planning, you've decided to set up a 401(k) anyway. That's a great first step! But now you should understand the common pitfalls and how to avoid them. Here are seven.
Mistake 1: Prioritize It Over All Other Financial Goals
Author and financial expert Nicole Lapin says contrary to what you've heard, maxing out a 401(k) isn't for everyone. She cites a few scenarios where you shouldn't prioritize it, like if you don't have a personal savings account that covers six to nine months of bills and expenses. "You need to have liquid, readily available cash to cover expenses if you lose your job or are in a pinch," Lapin says, suggesting young people contribute to their "rainy day" fund before a 401(k). Another case when you shouldn't rush to max out your 401(k): if you have a lot of debt. "If you have a substantial amount of debt, especially with crummy interest rates, then you're better off chiseling away at it early than investing it in the market."
Mistake 2: Fail to Sign Up For Automatic Escalation
You have the option to automatically increase your contributions to your 401(k) as you make more money - and it would be a mistake not to take advantage of it. "You're less likely to spend that money on something else if it never hits your checking account," Lapin says, "and more likely to put it to good use if the ramp up is on auto-drive." If you can't max out the $18,000 allowed annual contribution today, consider opting into a 2 percent increase each year until you get there.
Mistake 3: Invest in High-Fee Plans
A study from Nerdwallet found that just a 1 percent fee could cost you almost $600,000 by the time your retire. So when you are deciding where to direct the money in your 401(k), it pays to read the fine print. Your 401(k) will likely give you a few investment options to choose from. You want to choose a fund that has the lowest "expense ratio," which is charged as an annual percentage of your total investment in the fund. Typically, passively managed index funds have lower fees than mutual funds. When you leave your company, also consider rolling over your 401(k) into an IRA, which likely has lower management fees.
Mistake 4: Leave Money on the Table
If your company offers 401(k) matching, it's a shame to not take advantage of it. Do your best to understand their program, and even set up a one-on-one meeting with HR if you need help making sense of it. Then, do what you can to meet the matching requirement. If you're company doesn't offer matching, Lapin says you should still inquire about nonmatching contributions. "A match is usually best, but even if your employer doesn't match they might still offer nonmatching contributions based on a percentage of your pay or company profits, especially if your company had a banner year. You won't know until you ask."
Mistake 5: Invest Less Than 10 percent
A typical household needs to save 15 percent of their earnings for retirement, according to a study from The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College. And you don't want to put off hitting that target until you're older and have high out-of-pocket expenses like kids in college. Starting young also gives your money more time to compound in the market. In other words, you can reinvest the money you made off your initial investment and now make earnings on your earnings. It's how the rich get richer.
If you don't believe putting a little more money into your account today will have big returns later, check out this example offered by Nick Holeman, a certified financial planner and financial planning expert at online investing service Betterment. "Someone who puts $4,000 per year into retirement accounts starting at 22 years old can have $1 million by age 62, assuming 8 percent average annual returns. Wait 10 years to start contributing and you'd have to put in more than twice as much – $8,800 per year - to reach the same goal."
Mistake 6: Assume You Can Use It Penalty-Free For a Home
Typically, you can withdraw money early from your 401(k) for a down payment if you have not been previous homeowners in the last two years. But there's a catch, according to Lapin: you can only withdraw $10,000 penalty-free. "That means that you'll be paying an additional 10 percent tax on top of your additional income tax." In other words, if you typically pay 30 percent in income taxes, you will pay 40 percent on whatever you take out for a down payment after $10,000.
Mistake 7: Misunderstand the Implications of Taking a Loan
While you shouldn't take out a loan from your 401(k) if you can avoid it, if it does happen remember that you will owe the money back once you leave your company. "That's true whether or not you're leaving voluntarily," Lapin explains. "It's time to pay up and close out. Or else that loan amount will count as income, and you'll be hit with some hefty withdrawal fees."
Now that you know these common mistakes, log on to your 401(k) account and make sure you haven't made any of them!
4 Travel Mistakes You're Probably Making When Planning Your Vacation
The two most important things to consider when planning a trip are affordability and overall experience. While we usually have to sacrifice one for the other, there are ways to navigate the system to get both. We spoke to Orbitz travel expert Jeanenne Tornatore about the most common mistakes people make when booking, and we have to say we're guilty of them all.
1. Not Knowing the Right Times to Travel
As with anything else in life, timing is everything. Those who have the flexibility should avoid traveling during peak periods when people have time off or when school is out. "Adjusting your timing to save money is a big one," Jeanenne said. "Traveling during those shoulder seasons - late Spring or early Fall - you can get just as beautiful weather but better prices and less crowds at a lot of destinations."
2. Not Doing Your Research
Instead of selecting your accommodations based on what the hotel has to say about itself, read the reviews of travelers who've actually stayed. Their insight will more accurately reflect the experience since the hotel is only trying to convince you to book with them. And use specific reviews to make sure it's right for what you're looking for. Someone who's gone for business will have a different experience than someone who's stayed with family, for example.
17 Ways to Save Money at Hotels
3. Being Afraid of Packages
Don't ignore the grouped offers! There's a lot of flexibility with booking through packages these days that will save you more than you'd expect. "I always recommend to people if you're going to need airfare and hotel, and you're generally going to be staying in one city, book it as a package," she said. "Packages used to be this thing where you have to fly out of a certain airline and stay with a certain hotel, but now you can go on sites like Orbitz and it's just like booking a normal trip. You can pick whatever airfare you want, you can choose your hotel, and bundle it together."
Jeanenne shared that some of the best deals she's come across have actually been part of a package, which are also especially the better choice when booking last minute.
4. Not Flying Out of Alternative Airports
We all have our go-to airports, but they're also usually the most expensive. Oftentimes, nearby airports offer much cheaper flights because they're smaller or less traveled. Be sure to look into surrounding options at your destination airport in addition to the home airport you're departing from.
15 Hydrating Masks to Keep Your Hair Healthy All Summer Long
It's always important to keep your hair strong and healthy, but it especially matters in the Summertime. Sun rays, pool chlorine, high temperatures, and humidity can all damage your hair, so pay attention, people! One of the best ways to keep your strands in tip-top shape is by using a hair mask two or three times per week.
To use a mask, massage the product into your head while in the shower, put on a plastic hair cap, and turn up the heat so the steam will activate the conditioning ingredients. Rinse it out well and your hair will feel incredible. I use a mask regularly and have noticed a significant difference in the health of my strands. They are smoother and easier to style. Take a look at some of our favorite choices and grab one for yourself. It's the smartest beauty decision you could make this season.

Dad's Important Twofold Warning About Testicles to the Parents of Boys
After his 15-year-old son complained of testicle pain and throwing up at 3 a.m. one morning, a dad of four knew there could be something really wrong with his kid. Rather than telling him to sleep it off until a bit later, he drove his son to the hospital, where they were told his boy had testicular torsion.
Testicular torsion - which occurs when a testicle rotates, twisting the spermatic cord and causing decreased blood flow - is most common between the ages of 12 and 16 but can occur at any age due to vigorous activity, a minor injury to the testicles, or sleep.
"The condition requires emergency surgery. It's a pretty simple surgery and they work on the other testicle as well to prevent it from happening again in the future. The boy is doing alright. We're home now and he's relaxing. He can't play sports or do any strenuous activity for a few weeks, but his testicle is fine," the dad wrote in a post to Reddit under the apt alias "Bollocksave." He added, "The doctor told us that his last THREE cases of testicular torsion involved the testicle dying because the patient waited too long. It's best to get the surgery done within 4-6 hours of pain onset. If your son starts complaining of this kind of pain, DON'T tell him to sleep it off. The testicle could die."
Because of the typical age range for when testicular torsion can occur, the boy's dad is spreading his story to warn other parents to take their son's potential pain seriously but also to encourage keeping an open line of communication with their teen so that the child feels comfortable talking to their parent about their testicles should this ever happen.
Every Parent Should Use This Dad's "X-Plan" to Give Their Teens a Way Out of Pressure Situations
"Make sure you foster an open enough relationship to where your kids feel comfortable discussing this with you. Hiding it could also result in the death of the testicle and that's not what you want," he wrote. "This is most common in boys between the ages of 12 and 16. I understand those years can be a little tough, but it's not tougher than being down one ball."
Small-Apartment Dwellers, Rejoice! This Compact Washing Machine Just Fell From Heaven
A genius group of inventors have crafted a heaven-sent device that's here to save small-apartment dwellers and camping enthusiasts alike from their laundry dread. Yirego, a sustainable product design company, has officially released its Drumi, a miniature washing machine that requires zero electricity and takes up barely any space in your home.
A popular crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo got the Drumi off the ground, and designers have been working ever since then to perfect its features. The portable machine is powered manually by foot, so you won't be adding any additional costs to your electricity bill (plus, you'll be getting a great calf workout every time you do a load!).
The Drumi can wash up to seven articles of clothing at the same time - mostly delicates like undergarments and t-shirts, rather than heftier ones like bed sheets and towels. All you have to do is drop in your clothes, add water and detergent, and repeatedly step on the pedal with your foot to activate the washing cycle, which takes 10 minutes or less. Talk about a time-saver!
The Drumi is now available for pre-order for merely $239 (or customers can purchase two for $459), which is quite the steal, considering how much this compact invention is sure to save you through the years. Whether you're sick of walking five blocks to the local laundromat or can't stand going a week without clean underwear during your camping trips, the Drumi seems to be quite the life-saver. Watch the video above to see this the one-of-a-kind device in action.
1 Tiny Detail in This New Game of Thrones Clip Hints at a Reunion For Arya and Sansa
If you thought that just because the seventh season of Game of Thrones is almost here we'd quit discussing wild theories, think again. The latest possibility comes from Reddit user N355UN0, who noticed something pretty telling in a video interview with the show's costumer, Michele Clapton (which you can watch above). Interspersed with shots of her jaw-dropping creations for all of the characters are brief behind-the-scenes moments, including a shot of Arya (Maisie Williams) riding on a horse with the hilt of Needle clearly visible - similar to how she is in the season seven trailer - and one of Sansa (Sophie Turner) striding through a crypt at Winterfell. At first glance, no big deal. Upon second glance (and then a third, and possibly a fourth), it sure looks like a woman in Sansa's scene is also holding Needle. So, is a Stark family reunion in the works?
The idea that they might reunite lines up with a recent Entertainment Weekly photo spread that showed Arya on a horse in a location that looks a hell of a lot like Winterfell or Castle Black. If it's the former, it would be the first time she's returned to her family's home since departing in season one with her father, Ned. She's been out of town for a while, but word has to have spread about Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Sansa taking back Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton, and it stands to reason she'd want to make her way back there.
As always, it's difficult to believe anything other than misery could happen on Game of Thrones, but why else would Needle be in a behind-the-scenes shot at Winterfell? Even if it doesn't pan out, the chips for an Arya-Bran reunion are also in place. In October, Williams and costar Isaac Hempstead Wright (who plays Bran) were spotted on set together in Northern Ireland, where scenes featuring Winterfell and Castle Black are typically shot. The only problem with this theory is that we technically have no idea where she is, since last we saw she was at the Twins, killing Walder Frey and his sons.
On top of the interesting shot of Arya and Sansa, the video also includes a look at what some of the other characters are getting up to. Samwell Tarly (John Bradley-West) is seen hanging out in the Citadel library, while the Hound (Rory McCann) is dressed in heavy Winter gear (is he following Arya to the North?) and throwing some fake snow in front of a fan. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) pops up as well, going for a quick stroll down the beach where he'll eventually meet up with Jon, Daenerys, and Ser Davos. The short clip of Jon is probably from a similar scene, since he's standing on a cliff with the ocean behind him, and no snow in sight.
Are you convinced? As much as we hate to admit it, it does hold a little more water than the theory that Ser Davos is Azor Ahai.

Recall Alert! Frozen Tuna Tested Positive For Hepatitis A
On June 1, the Food and Drug Administration released a statement about its ongoing investigation into potentially contaminated frozen tuna distributed by Hilo Fish. According to the report, the Hawaii Department of Health first discovered the contagious hepatitis A virus in samples of frozen tuna on May 1. Shortly after, on May 18, Hilo Fish Company launched an official recall of tuna from Sustainable Seafood Company and Santa Cruz Seafood, Inc.
So far, there haven't been any illnesses reported in conjunction with the potential frozen tuna contamination, but the Center for Disease Control (CDC) is advising anyone from Texas, Oklahoma, and California who hasn't been vaccinated for the hepatitis A virus and ate raw or under-cooked tuna products in the past two weeks to get treated with post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
Keep reading to see a list of all of the frozen tuna products that have been recalled so far, and make sure to toss out anything that may be affected!

The Most Travel-Friendly Shoe's Been in Front of Your Face All Along
Most of us probably pack one too many shoes for vacation. And - dare we say this out loud - we hardly ever wear all the options we cram into our suitcases. We know this isn't the most convenient way to travel, especially when you go abroad and need room to bring back souvenirs. That's why we challenged ourselves: find one shoe that does the work of 10 pairs.
After browsing several blogger feeds (because these ladies are the ultimate jet-setters), we've concluded that all fashion girls really need is a cute, sturdy pair of ankle boots. We prefer a flat style for trekking hills or stomping down the road, but a tiny heel is comfortable too if you're city-bound. Scroll on to see all the outfits you can create with these boots alone, then shop some options before your next getaway.
