Will & Grace Strip All the Way Down For the Reboot's Sudsy Poster
We're all in for all-new episodes of #WillAndGrace, starting Thursday, September 28 at 9/8c on @NBC. http://pic.twitter.com/yTvqHrQtDC
- Will & Grace (@WillAndGrace) July 6, 2017
Is the Will & Grace reboot here yet? It feels like we've been waiting, oh, 11 years or so for this to happen. While the limited 10-episode revival of NBC's comedy classic won't hit TV screens until this Fall, there have been some pretty sweet teases of what's to come to hold us over until it finally returns. On top of the musical-inspired trailer and teasers, NBC has also blessed us with a sudsy new poster on Twitter featuring the OG quartet - Will (Eric McCormack), Grace (Debra Messing), Karen (Megan Mullally), and Jack (Sean Hayes) - drinking champagne in a bath tub together, captioned, "All in this together." Looks like they'll be literally (and figuratively) baring all in the revival!
Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid's Couture Week Looks Deserve a Runway of Their Own
Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid don't only know how to work the runway but also how to pick the most noteworthy street style outfits. The best friends, who have very similar taste when it comes to choosing bikinis, were spotted all over Paris Haute Couture Week in France.
While some of their looks have a sexy element to them, their Couture Week outfits had pertinent Parisian flair. From the addition of a chic bandana to a gingham tie-front blouse, Kendall and Bella hit all the right notes. Have a look at the duo's amazing ensembles, then buy similar inspired pieces.

What It's Really Like to Work at Lululemon, Straight From Former Employees
Are you obsessed with Lululemon? Maybe the leggings that somehow miraculously make your butt look glorious? As a company, Lululemon is pretty amazing. We spoke with two former employees of the brand and asked them to spill the secrets - and they had nothing but incredible things to say about the experience and fun facts you should know as a consumer. Check it out.
Its Return Policy Is Pretty Badass
It might be scary dropping $100+ on a pair of leggings, but if you've found your soulmate in pants form, you can rest assured that Lululemon really stands behind its products. What this means is that if anything goes wrong, you can bring your gear in for a replacement or repair. "Lulu will take almost anything back even if it's outside the return and exchange policy window," a source said. "Did the item stretch out? Snag? Maybe it just didn't fit right? No problem! They will take it back and swap it out for something new. They also offer free repairs if it's something irreplaceable." Lululemon also hems everything in store for free - tops and bottoms!
It Loves Random Acts of Kindness
Community is front and center of Lulu's priorities. One of the ways this manifests is with its surprise and delight policy. "Each store is gifted the opportunity to surprise and delight any customer that is in the store for any reason," one source said. "This doesn't happen every day, but when presented with the chance of helping someone going through cancer or someone who conquered a huge goal, they stop at nothing to make sure people know that they are a company with a heart." It's true, too - we've witnessed this first-hand!
It Hosts Free Yoga in Stores and Free Events in the Community
"Lululemon is all about helping the community," said one source. "[The brand] never charges for any local events that happen in the city. From yoga classes to mastermind groups, they are all about inclusion and bringing together like-minded people." This includes weekly Vinyasa classes and run clubs. You can get in shape for free and make friends in the process, courtesy of Lulu.
Employees Are Treated *Really* Well
Thinking of a career change? Lululemon might be for you. From free fitness classes ("We had a prepaid debit card that we could use at any studio, class, gym, etc., that we wanted") to holiday challenges ("Whoever attended the most workout and yoga classes in one week in December won manicures and clothes") and "staff meetings that are filled with healthy treats, dance parties, and staff shout-outs and rewards," the culture is pretty awesome.
The brand really empowers employees. "Lululemon spends a lot of time developing each individual in the stores and in corporate - it goes right in line with their mission to elevate the world from mediocrity to greatness," said one source. This takes shape in dream and goal workshops, even if the employee's dreams and goals have nothing to do with the Lululemon brand. "Once I found out I got my new job [at a different company], they threw me a party and couldn't have been happier for my success and next step!"
Employees also have the ability to make their own decisions - and they're rewarded for it. "Each store gets the opportunity to operate as its own entity, and every decision is made by the store manager and her/his team," said one source. "No one is told what to do, but coaching is given when faced with the real struggles of owning your own business. I like to think that they are an entrepreneur training camp." Our other source said when they (and their colleague) did a great job, they were both rewarded with tickets to the Wanderlust yoga festival in Aspen, CO.
This Russian Bride Wore Her Fairy-Tale Wedding Dress to Her $10 Million Wedding
If you ever wondered what a $10 million wedding looks like, just take a peek at the nuptials of Lolita Osmanova and Gaspar Avdolyan. The bride walked down the aisle in an off-the-shoulder Zuhair Murad gown complete with a long veil and intricate beading. The stunning dress suited Lolita's Hollywood-themed wedding - the reception was at the Dolby Theatre (where the Oscars are held!).
Guests were greeted with a light-up sign that read "Lolita and Gaspar" as they entered the building. Inside, hundreds of chandeliers and floral arrangements surrounded the room and, obviously, there was 10-tier wedding cake. The bride changed into a simpler white dress for the reception, perhaps to dance in as Lady Gaga performed on stage. Scroll on to see every lavish detail of Lolita's wedding.

This Is the Mascara Kourtney Kardashian Has Been Wearing Since College
Image Source: Getty / Anthony Harvey
If watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians for nearly a decade has taught us anything, it's that Kourtney Kardashian doesn't take any bullsh*t from anyone, and she knows what she likes. Kourtney's decisive nature is also evident in her makeup choices. In a recent blog post detailing her vacation beauty essentials, the eldest sister said she's stuck to the same mascara since college.
On her subscription-based website and app, Kourtney explained, "I don't wear much makeup when I'm on vacation and usually go for a more natural vibe," adding, "When it comes to mascara, I have used Lancôme ever since college." Kourtney's preferred mascara is Lancome's Hypnose Buildable Volume Mascara, also known as the Custom Volume Mascara. While vacationing, Kourtney will use both the regular mascara in black and its waterproof iteration.
In an interview with POPSUGAR in 2016, Kourtney also name-dropped the beauty brand when she said, "I love Lancome . . . I've always used Lancome mascara." In addition to the mascara, she also uses the Cils Booster XL Mascara Primer ($26) and Charlotte Tilbury's Life Changing Lashes Eyelash Curler ($22).
If Kourtney has stuck with this mascara through 13 seasons, three children, and much more, then we'd definitely consider this a foolproof recommendation.
Samuel L. Jackson Is Bringing Nick Fury to Brie Larson's Captain Marvel
Move over, Wonder Woman - there's a new kickass female superhero in town. It was officially announced at Comic-Con in 2016 that Brie Larson had been cast as the lead in Captain Marvel, a new stand-alone film from the titular studio and their first foray into a female-led superhero project. While we don't know a ton about the upcoming film just yet, we do have a few details. Here's what you need to know!
Why Drinking This Kind of Tea Could Help Shed Those Last Few Pounds
The health benefits of tea are vast, including soothing an upset stomach or helping to ease congestion. And while we've heard that matcha or peppermint tea are good teas to try if you're looking to lose weight, there's another tea out there that can help as well: white tea. While chatting with Bernadine Tay, global tea curator for Wedgwood, she shared this lesser-known benefit of sipping white tea.
"White tea actually stops new fat cells from forming," Tay told me while showing off Wedgwood's new Wonderlust Tea collection. The weight-loss benefits of white tea have been studied many times, including this study published in the journal Nutrition & Metabolism, and Tay pointed out that while it's been heavily studied, not many people realize that just drinking a few cups of white tea a day can help with losing weight.
White tea shares a lot of health benefits with black tea and green tea, but it goes through the least amount of processing, which makes it the most beneficial overall. It comes from the camellia sinensis plant and appears pale yellow when brewed. Besides stopping new fat cells from forming, white tea is also rich in antioxidants.
Tay noted, however, that while white tea boosts the breakdown of fat and slows down the growth of new fat, it is not a miracle worker. "It can help with weight loss, but it works best if you're healthy otherwise," she said. In other words, you can't eat whatever you want and think the white tea cancels it out. Livestrong recommends pairing the white tea with each meal and keeping up a regular fitness regimen.
This Woman Asked For "Round Nails" From the Salon and the Result Is Horrifying!
Manicures are supposed to be a relaxing ritual. There's nothing better than leaving the salon with fresh new nails. But a woman in Britain may have had the craziest mani since Elle Woods made Paulette steal her dog back from her evil ex-husband.
Angela Blemmings is a nail technician in Dukinfield, UK. She counts her niece, Emma Jones, as a loyal customer - except for one recent manicure, when, as Blemmings put it, Jones went to a new salon "without doing her research." At £35 (about $45), it wasn't exactly an inexpensive appointment. Jones made a (pretty simple) request for round tips and ended up leaving the salon sporting an extremely literal interpretation of that style.
Blemmings posted a picture of Jones's nails to Facebook, writing that she "couldn't believe [her] eyes." Since this is what manicure nightmares are made of, people were quick to respond with total disbelief. The post was shared over 10,000 times, with one user commenting, "This is shocking, no words!"
Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. Blemmings came to the rescue for her niece, taking the time to fix the nails herself. Jones now rocks a red and metallic silver mani with floral accents on her pinkies. Her tips are notably square now. That's right, Jones still doesn't have the rounded nails she wanted. But after that experience, we can hardly blame her.
Shay Mitchell's Suitcase Is Full of These Amazing Vacation Outfits
Shay Mitchell loves a good vacation, and lucky for us, she's game for posting all her travel outfits. No matter what country she's in - be it Morocco or Indonesia - she always packs a handful of printed maxi dresses, rompers, and skirts. The colorful choices are no accident. They match the scenic destinations, and often Shay blends in with her surroundings.
The star loves to travel so much, she's even started a #shaycation tag (so we can all follow along). Currently she's in Greece, where she posted this amazing swimsuit shot. Aside from swimsuits, however, the star is armed with outfits that'll inspire you to step it up for your own travels. Read on to see what's in Shay's suitcase and then shop for similar pieces.

We Can't Tear Our Eyes Away From Tobey Maguire's Insane Spider-Man Screen Test
Sam Raimi's beloved 2002 version of Spider-Man (that's right, we said beloved) starring Tobey Maguire is a PG-13, sometimes-goofy take on the web-slinging superhero. But could it have been something much, much darker? The screen test Maguire originally did for the role has surfaced, which features him looking significantly more ripped than he eventually is in movie (like, SUPER ripped) and fighting bad guys who can't stop dropping f-bombs. The clip is only a minute and change, but the tone is more, um, Roadhouse than what we were expecting. Now that Spider-Man: Homecoming has come out, it's crazy to see just how far the character has evolved.
21 Bold Kate Middleton Outfits That Probably Weren't Queen Approved
Based on her track record, it may be hard to believe Kate ever donned something that could raise eyebrows, but every once in a while we've caught her ditching her sophisticated brand of dressing for something a little more casual. From outings in lazy-day hoodies to laid-back blue jeans, we love seeing proof that sometimes Kate can mix it up.
While we may love Kate's foray into casualwear, we have a feeling the Queen wouldn't approve of these not-so-princessy pieces. Just try to imagine Queen Elizabeth donning the same sporty separates, sneakers, or funky hats - we all know, it just wouldn't happen. So while we're under the impression that it's basically impossible for Kate to wear a bad outfit, it's fun to imagine how the royals really felt when they saw these, ahem, nontraditional styles.
Tom Holland Gives a Mini Spider-Man Advice on Asking Out Zendaya
We are eating up every moment from Zendaya and Tom Holland's press trip for Spider-Man: Homecoming, but their latest interview definitely takes the cake. During a junket for the Marvel superhero film, the costars sat down with a precious mini Spider-Man, and it's just too much for us to handle. Not only does the little boy, whose name is Liam, look so cute in his costume, but we can't get over how sweet the actors are as they interact with him. Plus, Tom gives Liam some excellent advice on how to ask out Zendaya on a date. Swoon! See the overwhelmingly adorable video above.

How Long Can an Opened Bottle of Wine Really Last?
How long can an opened bottle of wine really last? To answer this question, I spoke with wine educator Collin Lilly during a recent trip to Andretti Winery in Napa Valley, CA. Although he claims that his response is completely subjective, here are his thoughts on a wine's life span. "I believe that when you are grabbing a bottle of wine, you're making a personal investment and you need to drink that entire bottle that night," said Collin. "Because one thing that is happening with wine when you've consumed half the bottle or more, there's now a gap of air that's filling the bottle. Over time, when it's exposed to too much air, the phenols (or components that affect the wine's taste) will dissipate and become negative flavors."
So should you let a bottle sit out for a day or two? "No, it won't be worth your money. The wine is continuing to age at an accelerated rate." When you open a bottle, it's best to drink it within four to six hours of opening without compromising taste. The wine will change slightly during that time of oxidation but in a positive way. After 24 hours, he doesn't believe it to be good. Although leaving a bottle out for a couple days won't cause it to spoil and make you sick, you will taste a perceivable difference even after just a day. The flavors will die out and eventually turn into an unpleasant taste after two to three days. But again, what you find acceptable will differ from what others can handle.
To slow down the aging process, be sure to recork the bottle and refrigerate it. The rate of oxidation will also depend on the type and age of wine. But to avoid any disappointment, drink it within the same day if possible. And when it comes to cooking with wine, the same rules apply, according to Collin.
Game of Thrones: The 1 Thing That Could Tear Jon and Sansa Apart in Season 7
The struggle is going to be very, very real for Sansa and Jon Snow in season seven of Game of Thrones. Although the pair shared a happy reunion last season, it was clear by the finale that tensions between the two were on the rise. After Sansa (Sophie Turner) saved Jon (Kit Harington) and the rest of their army from Ramsay Bolton's forces in the Battle of the Bastards, she icily watched her half-brother be crowned king of the North. It certainly seems like Littlefinger's (Aidan Gillen) poisonous suggestions that she should be queen instead are going to come into play. Will Jon and Sansa's alliance survive?
"There is definite tension between them right from the first scene," Harington recently revealed while sitting down with Entertainment Weekly. "There are the same problems - she questions his decisions and command; he doesn't listen to her. But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we'll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling." Adding to the possibility of major issues between the Starks is the fact Jon will not be backing down. "It's a nice change for me this season, he talks more, he's more sure of himself," Harington noted. "He doesn't just know what he's got to do but he's more sure of what he's saying - whereas before there was always some fear and doubt. I've gotten to enjoy not just grunting."
While it seems Sansa's thirst for power might lead her straight into Littlefinger's trap, we're still willing to bet on the theory that the creepy manipulator will die by her hand. Perhaps once she crosses Jon, she'll finally realize just how insidious Littlefinger's effect on her life has been and do us all a favor by getting rid of him for good.
LCD Soundsystem's Gavin Russom Comes Out as Transgender
LCD Soundsystem's Gavin Russom is transgender. During an interview with Grindr's online publication, Into, the 43-year-old opened up about her identity and her decision to come out. "This is my fifth decade being alive, and in each of those decades, there's been a time where I've tried to say, 'Hey, I think I'm transgender!'" she explained. "This was even before that word existed." The synth player, who is keeping her name the same, added that her bandmates have been incredibly supportive during this transition in her life. "The general feeling in the group is that will make the band better," she said. "I'm the happiest I've ever been. But I have my good days and my bad days. On my bad days, it really sucks and I wait until I get home to go to the bathroom - which is such a basic thing," she said, referring to controversial state laws that restrict trans people from using public restrooms that most closely correspond with their gender identity.
While she understands that she will face struggles in her new journey, she ultimately hopes to inspire others along the way. "For anybody who is struggling with their gender identity or who wants to come out and is afraid to, what would be better than giving someone permission to do that through my performance?" she said. "That's the ultimate. It's what other people gave to me, so I'd love to pass that along to other people, too."
The USPS Is Releasing These Insanely Cool Stamps You'll Actually Want to Collect
Get yourself a pen pal because you're going to want to snatch up these collectible stamps from the US Postal Service. The USPS is releasing a commemorative stamp that changes into the upcoming solar eclipse on Aug. 21 simply by pressing your finger on it.
The stamp, which you can buy now, uses thermochromic ink to change the image of the solar eclipse into the moon. Both the photo of the moon and the solar eclipse was taken by astrophysicist Fred Espenak, from a previous solar eclipse seen on March 29, 2006 from Jalu, Libya.
If you want to save the stamp as part of a collection, the USPS will also sell a special envelope to hold it. Using the stamps for normal mail? You don't need the envelope, but you should keep the stamp out of direct sunlight, advises the USPS.
The Era of Trump Saying "I Never Met Putin" Is Over - and There Are Photos to Prove It
After months - years! - of President Donald Trump going back and forth on whether or not he had met, had spoken to, or knew Russian President Vladimir Putin, the two men met officially on July 7.
The meeting comes as the world's leaders gather in Hamburg, Germany, for the G20 summit, where topics such as climate change, Syria, and international trade are set to be key talking points. It's also the first time that Trump will be representing the country on a global stage and comes after a fraught couple of months where tensions have run high between the United States and its allies.
Protests took place across Hamburg in the lead-up to the event, but the first day of the summit saw the protests spiral into mass chaos and violence as more than 10,000 anti-Trump and anti-capitalist demonstrators gathered to protest the American president's arrival in the city. Things even got so bad that First Lady Melania Trump was forced to skip a scheduled meeting on global warming as the police couldn't clear the streets enough for her to get through.
Trump, for his part, has remained uncharacteristically positive. "I look forward to all meetings today with world leaders, including my meeting with Vladimir Putin," he tweeted as he headed to the event, adding the hashtag "USA" for good measure. If the initial photos are any indication, it does look like his first encounter with Putin went well. But as we all know, the president will be very quick to make it known to the twitterverse if anything goes sour - so we'll be keeping a very close eye on the situation as things progress.
For now, though, please enjoy a second picture of our president enjoying a plate of cookies and the company of Russia's highest leader, who appears to be using one of Trump's signature hand moves.
Camilla Can't Stop Laughing During a Performance of Canadian Throat Singers
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Prince Charles enjoyed an official visit to Canada last month to celebrate the country's 150th birthday. While the pair are usually all business when it comes to their public outings, they broke royal protocol in a major way while attending a welcome ceremony in Iqaluit, a town on the edge of the Arctic Circle in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, on June 29. While watching a performance of Inuit throat singers, Camilla couldn't keep it together. In addition to trying to cover her face while she lost it in a fit of giggles, her reaction appeared to be contagious as Prince Charles also burst out laughing.
While some were quick to criticize the royal duo for not being culturally sensitive, it turns out that Inuit throat singers often laugh during performances themselves. The traditional ceremony, called Katajjaq, consists of two women facing each other while they try to sustain unique rhythmic patterns to see who can outlast the other. This often ends with one running out of breath or laughing. Watch the video above to see the couple's hilarious giggle fit.

The Internet Lost Any and All Chill After Hearing Blue Ivy's Rap on JAY-Z's 4:44
Blue Ivy Carter has accomplished more things in her five years on earth than I will in my entire lifetime, a fact that I, a mere mortal, dutifully accepted the minute she was born. Beyoncé and JAY-Z's oldest has walked red carpets, has gone on wildly lavish vacations, has clearly inherited her mom's dance moves, and will likely one day, as Parks and Recreation once predicted, own an airline called Jet Blue Ivy. On top of all that, Blue is also coming for her father's hip-hop crown, which she proves on one of the three bonus tracks for his latest album, 4:44.
JAY-Z included the bonus tracks in honor of 4:44 being released on iTunes and Apple Music on Thursday night, including "Blue's Freestyle/We Family." While a lot of the lines are gibberish (or possibly just in another language that only people with at least a million dollars in their bank accounts can understand), there's one that comes across crystal clear: "Never seen a ceiling in my whole life." Naturally, the internet lost it.

This Actress's Wedding Gown Is Dreamy, But Her Cutout Party Dress Is a Whole Different Story
Actress and co-founder of We the Women Nathalie Love tapped three of our dream wedding dress designers: Rodarte for her gown, Proenza Schouler for her party look, and Edun for her rehearsal dinner jumpsuit. Of course, all of the outfits were stunning. Nathalie wed Daniel Pappas in Islesboro, Maine, where she walked down the aisle in a tulle number embroidered with beads that came complete with a floor sweeping veil.
Later, the bride showed off her Proenza cutout midi, which reminds us of a similar dress from the label that Selena Gomez wore down the street. It might have been a touch sexy, but Nathalie styled it with ease, tying up her hair and completing it with simple white heels. With guests like Harley Viera-Newton in attendance, you can imagine the ceremony was quite a stylish affair. Just read on to see all the snaps.

If you, too, have an Oreo obsession, we suggest taking it to the next level with these creative spins on the cookie.
If You're Eating Protein to Lose Weight, This Is How Much You Need Per Meal
Experts are pushing the protein when it comes to weight loss, and for good reason, because it regulates your appetite and satiates hunger. But if loading up on tons of protein is your main focus at mealtimes, you might be getting more than you need.
Certified dietitian Leslie Langevin, MS, RD, CD, of Whole Health Nutrition says to aim for "no more than 20 to 30 grams of protein at each meal." This is in line with the CDC's recommendation for women ages 19 to 70 to get an average of 46 grams of protein per day. But since everyone's weight and activity level matter, this handy chart should help you determine exactly how much protein you need in a day.
So why only 20 to 30 grams at each meal? If you've heard that eating more protein is better for weight loss, it's true, but Leslie says, "The body can only absorb 20 to 30 grams at one time. Eating this amount of protein is a good target per meal because that will help with satiety and be the max your body can absorb at the meal for muscle repair." This leaves room for the other nutrients your body needs. For the perfect weight-loss meal, you always want to combine your protein with carbs for sustained energy and both fiber and healthy fats to keep you feeling fuller longer.
So there's no need to eat scrambled eggs with your morning protein smoothie. And Leslie says you definitely don't want to focus on just animal protein. Plant-based protein like legumes, leafy greens, whole grains, nuts, and soy products offer fiber and are necessary for everyone to "help reduce heart disease, cancer, and can help with weight control."

These Photos of Brides Breastfeeding on Their Wedding Days Will Take Your Breath Away
Typically, a wedding is about more than just the actual couple getting married. It's also a time when two families are joined and everyone gathers in honor of their new beginning. But for some couples, their wedding day is also an opportunity to celebrate the life they have already created with their little one. And although a wedding is a monumental occasion, nothing will be more important than the child they already have. Without meaning to, some moms have proven this in a stunning way by stopping to breastfeed their little ones during their wedding day. From intimate moments captured as the bride is getting ready while also breastfeeding, to snapshots of mom and child nursing while surrounded by the layers of her wedding gown, these candid moments showcase an incredible connection and prove that nothing will ever interfere with their precious bond.

You Will Never Look at Bell Peppers the Same Way After Learning This Fact
Some bell peppers have four lobes (or bumps) while others have three. Have you ever noticed that? While some claim it reveals the gender of the bell pepper, Facebook user Mouthwatering Vegan wants to set the record straight. Bell peppers don't have a gender, but the number of lobes will help you determine the best use of the bell pepper. According to this Facebook user, bell peppers with four lobes are sweeter and best eaten raw. They also contain more seeds so they are better for harvesting seeds to plant in a garden. Bell peppers with three lobes are best cooked or grilled, and they also contain less seeds. I haven't experimented with this, so I can't know for sure if it's true. One thing's for certain, though: I'll never look at bell peppers the same way again!

Tommy Hilfiger Designed His Daughter a Wedding Dress - but Wait Until You See Her Bridal Cape
Tommy Hilfiger is a big-time designer, so you might expect his daughter's wedding to be an elaborate affair. (Maybe even take over social media.) But that wasn't the case for Ally Hilfiger, who married her longtime partner, Steve Hash, during an intimate ceremony. The wedding took place on a beach in Mustique, and for her big day, Ally wore a custom gown designed by her father. The silky v-neck slip dress clung to her figure and suited the casual beach environment.
The most eye-catching piece, however, had to be Ally's hooded cape. The lace cover-up featured blue embroidered details on the hem and blew in the wind as she walked across the sand. (She isn't the first bride to choose a cape in lieu of a veil - model Hanne Gaby Odiele did too.) Ally's ensemble felt even more complete when she stood by her husband in an all-white suit and her daughter Harley in a little white dress. The beachfront reception, simply put, was stunning.

After Running For 15 Years, I Made This Change and Finally Lost Weight
I started running after college to lose that freshman 40 I was holding onto. I learned a lot along the way, like what socks prevent blisters and how to shop for a sports bra so you don't have to wear two. But what I struggled with was losing weight, specifically belly fat. And after 15 years of running and experiencing two pregnancies, that still-pudgy pooch - although a sweet reminder that I was my kids' first home - was always the thing I pinched and poked when standing in front of a mirror.
So I signed up for a half marathon. I was convinced that all those training runs would surely slim my middle, but when I stepped on the scale, I was completely wrong. I was gaining weight because the hunger that came with those long workouts made me want to eat all the time. After the race, although I made some changes to my eating schedule to lose the weight I'd gained during training, my squishy belly wasn't budging, and it pissed me off. It wasn't like I was going to run more often or for longer distances. It was quite by accident that I figured out how running could help me ditch my mummy tummy.
One morning, I skipped the hour-long flat road run and turned into the woods near my house. I let my dog, Reuben, off leash, and we just started running. My pace was much slower because the terrain was so unpredictable. Rain had eroded away the path, creating holes, plus the slippery wooden bridges, the rocks and logs to leap over, and the hills - man, were there hills! I was huffing and puffing way more than on my previous runs, and my quads, calves, and butt were burning. I had to swing my arms more to get up those steep inclines, and trying to catch up to my dog added a little fire to my step. At the end of my 20-minute run, I felt like I did after running one hour.
After just two weeks of running those trails and those crazy hills, I felt an incredible sense of strength in my legs I hadn't experienced before in the 12 weeks I was training for the half. In the obstacle course that is the woods, my muscles were constantly guessing, since running in the woods is completely different than running on a sidewalk or a treadmill. It's like a dance because there's no monotony of movement. Every step is a little different, a little shift to one side or the other, a little shorter or longer than the one before.
Interval training had always seemed so forced when running through my neighborhood: I felt a little weird sprinting past my neighbor's house, so I skipped them and just stuck to my 9:00/9:30 minute-per-mile pace. But the hills forced me to switch up my pace, and I knew this type of training would be the key to ditching my tummy. Running this way was also really challenging to my mind. I felt a complete sense of calm afterward that I wasn't able to get to unless I did a long training run. Instant runner's high in just 20 minutes? I was floored.
And the added perk? My belly looked slimmer. I could see definition in my obliques - I had obliques! By no means am I saying I have a six-pack after a month of running in the woods, but I see now that I was pushing myself in the wrong way. I was working harder, not smarter. If you're struggling with a weight-loss plateau from running, the answer for you, too, might be found in the woods.
The 10 Most Stylish First Ladies to Walk Through the White House
We could never ignore the POTUS, it's just with such a stylish first lady by his side, we might briefly overlook him, admiring his wife's lovely ensemble right off the bat. In the case of the 10 women here - Michelle Obama, Jackie Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and Eleanor Roosevelt all included - we were completely smitten.
These women redefined power dressing during their time in the White House, proving their confidence through fashion-forward outfits. Whether they were slipping into a gown for the inaugural ball or just giving a speech in a colorful suit, there was one common thread: these first ladies knew (or know) how to get noticed and make a memorable, sophisticated statement - now isn't that what politics is all about?
How Hot Is Too Hot to Be Outside With Your Kids?
Summer is the season every mom looks forward to for one simple reason. It's the time we get to use our three favorite, magical little words - that's "go play outside," of course - and our kids are actually happy to listen. Between backyard play sessions, sports practices and games, and days at the pool and the beach, kids spend so much of Summer outside, which is a wonderful reality on those perfect, humidity-free days where temperatures hover in the 70s and low 80s, but it's not so fantastic when the heat index rises to 90 and above.
Moms need to be aware of two major issues that can be incredibly dangerous for kids on the hottest days: dehydration and heat illnesses, including heat cramps, exhaustion, and stroke. Because of their body compositions, kids are at even greater risk for these scary side effects than adults. Here's what you need to know, what to watch for, and how to react if you're afraid your child might be suffering from from a heat-related sickness.
Dehydration
- How to prevent it: Make sure your kids drink cool water before and during the time they're outside. Send them to any outdoor practice or game hydrated, then make sure they take regular breaks to drink fluids, even if they say they aren't thirsty. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, a good-size drink for a child is five ounces of water for a child weighing 88 pounds and nine ounces for a teen weighing 132 pounds. Also, before your child is going to spend an extended amount of time outside in the heat - say for Summer camp or sports practice - get them acclimatized by spending time outdoors regularly beforehand.
- Risk factors: Extended exposure to high temperatures, direct sunlight, and high humidity without enough rest and fluids.
- Signs of dehydration: Early signs of dehydration include thirst, dry tongue and lips, fatigue, and feeling extremely hot. Tell your kids that if they wait to drink until they feel thirsty, they're already dehydrated.
- How to treat it: Rest and plenty of fluids are vital for preventing dehydration from escalating to a more serous heat-related illness.
Heat Illness
- Signs of heat cramps: Painful cramps of the stomach muscles, arms, or legs.
- Signs of heat exhaustion: Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, headaches, weakness, muscle pain, and occasionally unconsciousness.
- Signs of heat stroke: A temperature of 104 degrees or higher, nausea, vomiting, seizures, disorientation, lack of sweating, shortness of breath, unconsciousness, and coma.
- How to treat it: Get your child out of the sun into a cool, comfortable place. Have them drink plenty of cool fluids and take off any excess layers of clothing or bulky equipment. You can also put cool, wet cloths on overheated skin, and for heat cramps, try gentle stretching for the sore muscles. If your child has heat exhaustion, do not allow them back in the hot sun on the same day. Monitor your child, and if you don't see improvement, see a doctor. If you're concerned your child is suffering from heat stroke, immediate medical attention is a must.
If you are unsure as to whether your child is suffering from any of the above, please contact your pediatrician.

Celine Dion Wears These Off-the-Runway Looks Better Than the Models Do
Celine Dion has been walking around Paris in straight-off-the-runway ensembles. Normally, that wouldn't be a very big deal for a celebrity. Since she started working with stylist Law Roach, the famous singer has secured countless couture looks, colorful red carpet gowns, and statement pieces (like that Vetements Titanic hoodie that caused quite a stir on the internet).
But Celine's latest outfits have a different vibe. They're undeniably street-cool thanks to labels such as Balmain, Off White c/o Virgil Abloh, and Roberto Cavalli, all of which are favored by models like Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin. If you need proof that 49-year-old Celine's taking a page out of the 20-something style handbook, read on and see for yourself.
This Hack Will Forever Change the Way You Cut and Juice a Lime
If you're struggling to get a decent amount of liquid out of a lime, turns out you might be cutting it all wrong. Here's an easy hack to get almost triple the amount of juice. Instead of cutting the lime in half, you can make cuts on all four sides of the lime, leaving the center untouched, and you'll be able to squeeze so much more juice out of the sides, according to an image posted by Reddit user regularoldballoon. I wanted to see if it really worked, and spoiler: it 100 percent does. I'm never going back to the old way. Here's how to perfectly cut a lime to get the maximum amount of juice every time, because limes are expensive.
Stand the lime up vertically on a cutting board. You might want to carefully cut off the bottom tip to make this easier (and safer!). In a similar way that you would slice around the core of an apple, use a sharp knife to cut all four sides (or cheeks) of the lime, coming close to the stem. You'll be able to squeeze out all the juice from the cheeks with little effort, and you can even get a few more drops from the core.
You can clearly see the difference! When I sliced a lime in half, I got less than a tablespoon of juice, and the other lime yielded more than double that amount. Your guac and margaritas are about to be better than ever.

More Men Need to Stand With Planned Parenthood
The following story, "More Men Need to Stand With Planned Parenthood" by Doyin Richards, was originally published on Daddy Doin' Work.
Lately you may have noticed that I've been a lot more political lately. And whenever someone talks about politics on the Internet, some people absolutely love it, others absolutely hate it.
I've been doing this for long enough that I don't really give a sh*t about the hate anymore (and I'm sure I'll get a bunch from this post). I'm here to use my platform to share how I feel I can make the world a better place. And with that, I'm going to talk about something more men should talk about - Planned Parenthood (PP).
I have two young daughters. There is so much about the state of America that scares me to death when it comes to being their dad that I can't list them here for fear of slipping into a deep depression - and access to quality healthcare is definitely one of them.
The narrative that PP is an "abortion mill for those disgusting baby-killing liberals" is just plain dumb. Pro-choice does not equal pro-abortion - and whatever your thoughts are about abortion don't change the fact that it is legal here in 'murica. Secondly, a 2014 report shows that only 3 percent of the care PP provided were abortions. It also provides other health services such as cancer screenings, STD testing and treatment, family planning, and many other vital services to families who may be unable to afford it otherwise.
From Planned Parenthood's 2013-2014 annual report
In other words, if PP is taken away, thousands of people will suffer and/or die. If you call yourself "pro-life," you can't be OK with that unless you're OK with outing yourself as simply being "pro-birth" (or outing yourself as a damn hypocrite . . . either one works). And just a heads up - if we really want to reduce the abortion rate, we need to provide as much access to family planning services as possible (including education and access to birth control). Nobody in America does that better than PP.
Not to mention, the proposed American Health Care Act (AHCA) is awful - and that's probably due to the fact that all of the people who helped to design the bill are dudes, but that's another story. If passed, this bill will leave 23 million Americans uninsured. That includes liberals, conservatives, Christians, Muslims, etc. Bottom line - it's just a terrible plan, and a solid amount of Republicans feel that way.
But let's get back to PP for a minute. Defunding this program by no means "makes America great again." America is great when even its lowest income citizens can have access to great healthcare. Mr. Sanders says it best.
Get the facts and understand that PP is far from the big, bad monster that some want you to believe. If you love and care for women and girls, you should want to fight to ensure PP stays alive. I'll be damned if I'm a guy who sits around while a bunch of out-of-touch men decide how women should handle their healthcare needs. Hell, the fact that it's 2017 and I'm actually writing about this is just one of many examples of why the rest of the world continues to laugh at us.
Enough is enough. We need to pressure the Senate to vote against the AHCA and the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
This post is made possible by support from The Mission List. All opinions are my own. Find out how you can put the heat on to help oppose the bill.
Why I Gladly Spent $800 on the Most Perfect Hair Extensions
Something magical happened to me the month before my wedding, and it wasn't just the idea that I was going to marry my soul mate. I discovered hair extensions, and for better or worse, they changed my life forever. (Apologies if that sounds melodramatic, but it's true!)
To put it bluntly, hair extensions are the nose job my mane always needed. I was born with fine, flat locks that return to their natural state the second I leave Drybar. Until that glorious day at Bumble and Bumble, one month before my wedding, when a talented stylist painstakingly bonded Great Lengths extensions into my hair. Great Lengths extensions are made from gorgeous, human hair, and they are fused to small sections of one's real hair with pure keratin.
The process takes about three hours and costs around $1,200. At the time, I thought it was worth every penny. I left the salon with the hair I always wanted and never thought I could have. It was long, lustrous, and it held blowouts for multiple days. It was perfect. And as a lifestyle blogger and stylist, I quickly realized flawless hair was the one accessory I never knew I needed. Something about my new, cascading waves made everything brighter: my outfits looked better, I was more photogenic, and my extra hair seemed to give me extra confidence, too.
But unfortunately, some love stories must come to an end. (And luckily, in this case I'm not referring to my marriage!) In my opinion, Great Lengths has one major flaw: it can fall out. And it can fall out at inopportune times. Like that time I was meeting a co-worker at the Plaza Food Hall for lunch, and I had to discretely tuck a long strand of hair into my purse. How does that happen? Well, since everyone's hair naturally sheds, sometimes the extensions come along for the ride.
Taking out hair extensions is also time-consuming. A removal gel is applied to each of the bonds and rubbed into your hair until the bond breaks down and slides off. This process could take over an hour if you have a full head of extensions. But I was willing to look past these flaws until I decided to get pregnant and go au natural. (And by au natural, I mean I went to Ricky's, bought some clip-ins, and had a stylist cut and color them to match my hair to get me through nine salon-free months.)
I used the clip-ins throughout my pregnancy and for three more months after my beautiful baby girl was born. But I missed the ease of waking up with a full head of perfect hair that I could refresh with a quick spritz of dry shampoo. So back to Bumble I went, and my stylist, Carrie Hill, introduced me to a new tape extension that the salon launched last Fall. To be honest, I had my doubts about sticking tape onto my hair. But after several applications and removals, I'm officially hooked. Keep reading to learn more about this salon process and discover if it's right for you!
How to Clean Your Makeup Brushes With Household Ingredients
We all know that it's bad for us to use dirty makeup brushes on our skin - come on, you wash your face twice a day, but how often do you actually give your tools the same kind of love? If you've been skipping because you're worried about hurting your brushes, we've got an easy DIY way to clean them all up safely. And don't forget to find the makeup brush that's right for you too!
Ingredients:
Olive oil
Antibacterial soap
Steps:
Step 1: Mix two parts antibacterial dish soap to one part of the extra-virgin olive oil on a clean plate (don't use paper plate, as the oil will seep through).
Step 2: Grab your first brush and wet it slightly with lukewarm water. Make sure the brush stays bristle-side down throughout the entire process. If water gets into the ferrule (the middle tube part that holds everything together) of the brush, it can loosen the glue, causing the bristles to fall out.
Step 3: Dip the damp brush into the soap mixture and coat it thoroughly. Next, work the mixture into the bristles using the palm of your hand and fingers. Continue until the soapy residue is makeup free.
Step 4: Rinse the brushes under lukewarm water until no soap runs from the bristles.
Step 5: Roll a dish towel like you would a yoga mat, and drape a paper towel over it so that most of the paper towel hangs off. (The paper towel should look like a slide coming down from the dish towel). Next, arrange the brush so the top of the handle sits on top of the towel, pitching the rest of the brush down onto the paper towel. This will allow your brushes to dry on a slant, while keeping moisture away from the ferrule.
Repeat with remaining brushes. Some make take two washings to get completely clean, depending on the amount of residue left behind. Allow them to dry overnight, and repeat about once a month.
The 1 Thing This Fashion Editor Does to Every Pair of Jeans After She Buys Them
I have no background in fashion design and I certainly wouldn't consider myself crafty. But every time I buy a new pair of jeans I pull out my scissors and get to work. They're not even fabric shears, they just have blades sharp enough to get the job done. The job in question? Cutting three to five inches off the bottoms of my pants - all of them.
At 5'1", I'm definitely lacking in the height department. And even "cropped" denim hits me at an awkward length, like right below the ankle, instead of above. Since I like to show off my shoes from time to time and the distressed look is in, I've come up with a method for simply snipping away at all of my jeans.
But you don't have to be petite to get in on my hobby. In fact, with all the ragged cuts and rips featured on some of the trendiest styles these days, slicing even half an inch off your hem might just up the cool factor. This is also a great solution for updating old denim stowed away at the back of your closet. And the best news is, you don't have to be artistically talented to do it. Once you cut one pair, I promise you can cut them all. Just read on for my DIY instructions. Oh, and don't run with scissors.
Step One
Try on your jeans in front of the mirror and mark the point you want to crop them to. Pay attention to the fit of the leg. If it's flared, you might want to go lower, so the triangle shape of the pant is still visible. If it's straight, you pretty much have free rein to cut where you like.
Step Two
Lay the jeans on a flat surface (preferably a hard floor) and make sure to flatten out the wrinkles and the pockets. Once everything is straight, cut across the line you marked for yourself.
Step Three
Rather than eye-balling the second pant leg, take the excess material you just cut off and line it along the bottom of the other pant. This ensures that your two legs will match up exactly, but once you distress your hem, perfection won't matter much.
Step Four
Now that your jeans have been slashed, loosen up the strings of the material by rubbing them against the jeans, shredding with your fingers, or treating with a razor. If you want to wear them right away, that's cool, but trust me that they'll look much better once . . .
Step Five
You wash them. Throw them in the laundry once and your jeans will come out looking like you just bought them off the rack. The hem will be noticeably stressed, but in the best possible way - and that's because you treated them yourself.
How to Keep Your Child Safe From Summertime Ticks
Nothing takes a Summer from terrific to terrible like a tick bite. Found in backyards, woods, and campgrounds across the country, these tiny critters carry a number of diseases, the most common being Lyme disease. The disease can lie dormant for months, even years, and if left untreated can cause damage to the joints, heart, and nervous system. To keep your child safe from this potentially deadly disease, it is important to take some precautions before they head outside. Here are several tips to stop ticks in their path and what to do if one latches on to your little one.
This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Meatloaf
Before you dis the idea of meatloaf, hear me out. When done right (like this Italian meatloaf with marinara sauce by Recipe Tin Eats), it's actually good. If your only mental image of the old-school dinnertime staple involves a dry log of ground beef covered in ketchup, you'll be surprised by how upscale and flavorful it can be. These recipes are proof! Here's how some of our favorite celebrity chefs and Food Network personalities make meatloaf; in other words, the only ways you'll ever prepare it again.
Giada De Laurentiis: Add Feta and Sun-Dried Tomatoes
Giada lightens up the classic with her recipe for turkey meatloaf with feta and sun-dried tomatoes. Turkey is drier than beef, so the recipe calls for plenty of Italian ingredients that add extra flavor, like garlic, parsley, sun-dried tomatoes with herbs, and feta.
Alton Brown: Mix Ground Chuck and Sirloin
By using a combination of ground chuck and sirloin in his Good Eats meatloaf recipe, Alton Brown ensures there's no lack of flavor or moisture. What makes this version even better is the sweet homemade glaze made of Worcestershire sauce, honey, cumin, and hot sauce.
Ina Garten: Go Classic
If you're looking for a totally classic meatloaf recipe that delivers, Ina Garten's meatloaf is for you. None of the ingredients are out of the ordinary (olive oil, onions, tomato paste, breadcrumbs, and, yes, ketchup), but when measured to a T - that's one of Ina's best cooking tips - they result in a no-fail meatloaf you're sure to love.
Chrissy Teigen: Use Half Spicy Italian Sausage
"Man, I love meatloaf," Chrissy Teigen wrote in the introduction of her recipe for Spicy Italian Sausage Meatloaf on page 202 of her cookbook, Cravings. She goes on to explain that she even loved the frozen TV dinner kind, but "Now, of course, I prefer my meatloaf made of actual, you know, meat. And not just any meat, the gift that is spicy Italian sausage." The expert home cook uses a combination of ground beef and hot Italian sausage for a guaranteed nonboring meal that lives up to the hype of her other brilliant recipes, like chicken pot pie soup.
Ree Drummond: Wrap It in Bacon
When in doubt, add bacon. Ree Drummond's meatloaf recipe, like all Pioneer Woman recipes, is simple and comforting. The Food Network host wraps the entire meatloaf in eight to 12 slices of bacon, allowing all the flavor to seep into the meat as it bakes.
Mario Batali: Stuff With Prosciutto and Spinach
Mario Batali always adds a little somethin' somethin' to his recipes (scrambled eggs with truffles, anyone?), so it's no surprise that his meatloaf is fit for a special occasion. His meatloaf stuffed with prosciutto and spinach is easy enough for anyone to master but elevated enough to impress guests. Freshly grated pecorino cheese and red wine take the flavors to the next level.
