This Secret Indian Hair-Growth Formula May Finally Give You a Mermaid Mane

Anyone who has unsuccessfully tried to get their hair to grow may roll their eyes at this video in which Prachi (the vlogger behind Super Wow Style) shares a family recipe for lengthier locks. Could a simple mix of natural ingredients really make hair grow up to 30-40 percent as Prachi claims? We were a bit skeptical, too, and while we have not tried this remedy, a look at Prachi's long shiny mane and reading the reviewers' testimonials is making us reconsider. Perhaps this is the holistic answer to getting the mermaid mane of your dreams. In fact, Prachi challenges viewers to take before and after images when they test the treatment.

"People ask, 'How does you hair grow?' and I give them the same answer," she says in the video. "I learned it from my mom, and she learned is from her mother. It's an old Indian secret."

To DIY it, you'll need: coconut oil, castor oil, vitamin E, aloe vera leaves, and two bowls (one small and one large). Start by cutting up the aloe vera leaves, and then scratch it with a knife or fork to scrape out more gel. Rub the leaf on your scalp and massage the aloe gel into your roots. Use your fingers to make sure it's all over your head.

Then, in a small bowl, combine one tablespoon of castor oil with 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Pierce the vitamin E capsule with needle, extract the oil, and add it to the formula. Place the small bowl with the three oils in a larger one containing hot water. Warning: do not place the oil directly on a fire (including a stove) or in microwaves, since it can catch fire immediately.

After five minutes, the hot oil should be ready. Use your fingertips to apply it onto your scalp. Lay down on a sofa or the like and gently massage it into your scalp for two to three minutes. "This is very important to increase blood circulation for hair growth," she explains.

Once you're done, weave your hair in tight braid and sleep on it. Wash you hair in the morning. According to Prachi, you will start seeing a difference in your hair length "very, very soon."

While she does not specify how often to do the treatment, reviewers offer their successful trials.

"I tried this method exactly as she explained to and it WORKED!" one commenter said. "My hair grew about 4 to 5 inches in about 3 months! I did it 2 x per week for a month. Then 1 x per week for the next 2 months. It made my hair so healthy and strong. Everyone kept commenting on how fast my hair grew and how long it is. Before I started my hair was bra strap length. Now it is to my hips! I don't have photos to post, because I seriously hate taking photos of myself since I have gained weight (next thing to work on) but I will consider it."

Another commenter said, "I watched your video and used these products! And it works like MAGIC. I don't know how but my hair grew in a week. I used it two times a week though aloe vera was not available! But castor oil is super! Hats off!"

A third remarked, "It's amazing . . . I've seen results in just 2 wash[es] . . . My hair [ha]s became more silky and the best part it made my hair 2.5 cm longer."

So, what do you think? Is this a hoax or the most genius hair hack ever?

Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag: A Detailed Account of What Went Wrong

Image Source: Getty / John Shearer
Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag were the best of friends when they starred together on MTV's The Hills back in 2006, but their friendship quickly dissolved when Heidi began dating her now-husband, Spencer Pratt. Lauren repeatedly tried to warn her friend about Spencer, calling him "a sucky person," and despite various failed attempts to repair their relationship, Heidi eventually chose Spencer over Lauren, ultimately ending their friendship.

Heidi is currently pregnant with her first child, while Lauren recently welcomed hers, but it's safe to say they won't be planning any play dates. When asked if she and Lauren will ever mend their friendship, Heidi told E! News it was unlikely back in May, adding, "I certainly wish the best for her and her life, and I'm thankful for that time period, but that friendship is long gone." Here's a detailed account of what went wrong.

  • 2006: Kristin Cavallari and Brody Jenner introduced Spencer to Heidi. "I had known Heidi when she was friends with Lauren when we were still filming Laguna Beach. Heidi was like, 'Hook me up with someone. I wanna meet a guy.' And Brody and I were kinda like, 'Well, maybe Spencer? We'll see what happens.' So we all went on a double date and they just hit it off right away and now they're married," Kristin told EW in May 2009.
  • 2007: After several arguments about Spencer, Heidi moved out of the apartment she shared with Lauren and into one with Spencer. Things quickly took a turn for the worse when Spencer leaked a story to the media about Lauren and ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler having a sex tape. Lauren almost immediately took to her website to clear up the entire thing, writing, "I am posting this note on my website regarding the reports that have circulated the internet this morning. Jason and I would like to make it clear that we did not make a tape with us having sex. Jason and I are both shocked and hurt that people would say such horrible things about us. I can't believe that somebody would go to such great lengths to try to damage my reputation." Lauren then ran into into Heidi and Spencer at Frankie Delgado's birthday party and confronted her Heidi on the show, saying, "You're a bad person . . . I feel bad for you . . . . You know what you did . . . . You're a sad, pathetic person."

  • 2009: Two years later, Lauren revealed that Spencer admitted to starting the rumor about her and Jason during a panel a PaleyFest in LA. "We actually have it on tape," Lauren told the audience. "[Spencer] takes responsibility and apologizes for it. Sorry! Spoiler!" Lauren reluctantly attended Spencer and Heidi's televised wedding days later. "They literally locked me in the basement with two security guards and wouldn't let me leave! And I was like, 'You can't keep me here!' I was throwing a fit!" she told Us Weekly in May 2016. Lauren and Heidi stopped talking after that.
  • 2015: Spencer finally admitted to spreading the sex tape rumors about Lauren in Complex's October 2015 issue and continued slamming the reality TV star. "Lauren is a cold-hearted killer. That's what people don't get. She will cut you in your sleep," he said. "She tried to destroy us. If you want to throw missiles, I'm throwing a nuke. This is how I operate." "Today, I would be like, 'B*tch, you know what you did,'" Heidi chimed in.
  • 2017: While Lauren seems to have no intention of reaching out to Heidi, Heidi did congratulate Lauren on her pregnancy back in January. "Congratulations @laurenconrad on your pregnancy! you're going to be a great mom!" she tweeted.

These Are the Targaryens Every Game of Thrones Fan Needs to Know

Before Jaime Lannister brought King Aerys II's reign to an end by stabbing him in the back with his sword, House Targaryen had been running the Seven Kingdoms for more than three centuries. The dragon-loving house is known for taking what is theirs with fire and blood (and more fire), and that is a tradition the last known surviving Targaryen, Daenerys Stormborn, is keeping alive and well. Now that the Dragon Queen is finally back in Westeros and settling in at her ancestral home of Dragonstone, it's the perfect time to take a closer look at the major players in the Targaryen family, including the ones who are still impacting the story despite being dead for quite some time.

The two most significant Targaryens on Game of Thrones are hands down Daenerys and Jon Snow, even though Jon still has no idea that his parents are Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. Even though they're two Targaryens alone in the world, the impact of their ancestors' legacy is still being felt all across the Seven Kingdoms. As season seven moves Daenerys into position to take her rightful place on the Iron Throne, it's time to refresh your memory on the complex history of her great but sometimes mad House.

Daenerys

via GIPHY

Born on Dragonstone during a raging storm, Daenerys holds the distinction of being the last Targaryen to be born in her family's ancestral castle. Shortly after her birth and the death of her mother, Rhaella, Daenerys and her older brother Viserys were taken across the Narrow Sea, out of Robert Baratheon's reach. When she comes of age, her brother trades her to Khal Drogo in exchange for his vast Dothraki army. Unfortunately for Viserys, Daenerys realizes her potential to be a great leader, and after Drogo murders her brother, she begins her ascent as a queen and the Mother of Dragons.

Seven seasons later and Daenerys has a vast army of her own, thanks to liberating most of the slave cities and gaining the loyalty of key Houses, like Greyjoy and Tyrell, and three dragons. She's ready to bring the Seven Kingdoms back under Targaryen rule, but first she's going to have to go through Cersei Lannister.

Viserys

via GIPHY

As terrible as he is, Viserys plays an important role in Daenerys's early life. Her big brother is her only family until he sells her into marriage with Khal Drogo. Unlike Daenerys, he never proves himself to have any skill as a leader. Instead, he's petulant and abusive toward his sister until Drogo gives him the golden crown he longs for. Despite their tumultuous relationship, Daenerys loved her brother, and she even names one of her dragons Viserion in his honor.

Jon Snow

via GIPHY

Jon believes he's Ned Stark's bastard son, but the King in the North is actually the product of an affair between Ned's sister Lyanna Stark and Daenerys's brother Rhaegar. In season six's Tower of Joy scenes, Bran Stark witnesses his father promising Lyanna that he will protect Jon, and he did by raising his nephew as his son. Even though Jon still doesn't have a legitimate claim to the crown, that may not matter to Daenerys if she ever finds out she's not truly the last Targaryen after all. It's unclear if she would be happy about this development or see Jon, who has so many followers of his own, as a threat to her power.

Rhaegar

Prince Rhaegar has never appeared on screen, but his presence is felt throughout the series. The oldest son of Mad King Aerys II, Rhaegar is his heir and by all accounts, he is nearly universally beloved in the Seven Kingdoms until Robert's Rebellion. A skilled fighter, Rhaegar plays a key role in upsetting Westeros's political stability when he wins the Tourney at Harrenhal and gives his favor to Lyanna instead of his wife, Elia Martell. Shortly after the tourney, Rhaegar either abducts Lyanna or she willingly runs away with him, which spurs her brothers and her betrothed, Robert, to begin the war known as Robert's Rebellion. Despite his abilities as a warrior, Rhaegar is said to have been killed during one-on-one combat with Robert.

Thanks to Rhaegar's affair with Lyanna and his father's madness, the Targaryens lost their three-centuries-long status as the Royal House of Westeros.

King Aerys II

Ah, the Mad King. Daenerys's father has a reputation for being fire-crazy, but before he went around ordering his enemies to be burned, Aerys was actually a good king. It's not until later in his reign that he begins to exhibit signs of madness and paranoia, leading Jaime to end his bloody rampage by murdering the king he swore an oath to protect. Of course, by this point, Aerys has already made Jaime watch as he orders the excessively violent executions of Ned Stark's father and older brother (among others).

Before he goes completely insane, the Mad King swears he hears whispers. Some fans believe those whispers are a product of Bran Stark's time-hopping, but his madness is just as likely to be the result of the Targaryen family's long-held belief that the only way to keep their bloodline pure is to marry one another.

Maester Aemon

via GIPHY

The second son of King Maekar I and Queen Dyanna (and uncle to Aerys), Aemon joins the Night's Watch after his eldest brother dies. It's an act of sacrifice on his part, because he joins to prevent people from pitting him against his younger brother, Aegon V. He becomes a maester and brother of the Night's Watch, relinquishing his last name and any claim he may have ever had to the Iron Throne, so that his younger brother can become the uncontested king. By the time his great-nephew Jon Snow joins the Night's Watch, most people no longer remember that Aemon is a Targaryen.

While he acts as a mentor to Jon, Aemon has no idea that the boy is his relative. He even confides in Samwell Tarly that he worries for Daenerys, because, "A Targaryen alone in the world is a terrible thing." Before his natural death of old age in season five, Maester Aemon casts the deciding vote to make Jon the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch.

Jaehaerys

Although he's only been mentioned in passing on the show, Jaehaerys is a name you should know. The fourth Targaryen king is known for being a kind and fair ruler. He even negotiates the end of the Faith Militant (the High Sparrow reassembles the group centuries later) and swears the Iron Throne will always protect the Faith, as long as they agree to stop condemning the incestuous actions of the Targaryens. Though he dies long before the events in Game of Thrones, this particular Targaryen may be significant as the story moves forward, or at least his name could be.

It's believed by many fans that Jaehaerys is the name Lyanna whispers to Ned before her death. If that turns out to be true, then Jon Snow's given name will be Jaehaerys Targaryen. His mother would surely be proud to know her son is already working hard to become a king as fair as his potential namesake.

Though there are only two Targaryens still alive, the impact of this one great House spans hundreds of years. As Daenerys and Jon wade further into the great game, the more you know about their family history, the better prepared you'll be for what comes next for these two powerful characters.

This Buttery Corn on the Cob Is Topped With Freaking Sweet Corn Soft Serve

Dominique Ansel continues to amaze us with his lineup of sweet treats this Summer. In addition to the bakery's visually captivating watermelon soft serve, the bakery's Tokyo locations currently offer an epic Crème de la Corn dessert.

So, what exactly is Crème de la Corn? The dessert consists of grilled corn on the cob that's been glazed with soy sauce and butter. The corn is then topped with a swirl of caramel sweet corn soft serve and little kernels of - you guessed it - even more corn. After you're done eating the soft serve, it's recommended that you do actually eat the corn on the cob, especially since it's been drizzled with soft serve and caramel at that point.

The dessert is available for a limited time every Summer for about 1,000 yen, or $9. To get an up-close look at the viral treat, check out pictures ahead.

Halle Berry's New Movie Is Basically Every Parent's Worst Freaking Nightmare

We've all been there, whether we want to admit it or not. We're at the park, and our kid beelines for the playground. We keep our eye on them, of course, but something distracts us. A friend says hello, a text message alert pops up on our phone, our baby in the stroller fusses. Then, when we look up to see our kid, we can't find him. For a few brief seconds – that feel like hours – we scan the slides and swings until we breathe a sigh of relief.

But what if those few seconds turn to a solid minute? Then two minutes? It's hard to imagine how we'd handle it.

That's the terrifying premise of Halle Berry's new movie, Kidnap, in theaters everywhere Friday, Aug. 4. But trust us, it gets even more heart-thumping and anxiety-inducing from there.

"When you lose your kid in a park, you just think, 'Oh, they're around here somewhere.' You never imagine they'd been taken," Halle told POPSUGAR in an exclusive video sneak peek at the making of the film. "[It] shows just how far we mothers are willing to go to protect our kids."

Check out the behind-the-scenes clip – you'll be surprised by how you instantly relate to Halle's character . . . and it'll make you realize how quickly those primal mama instincts would kick in if this were to happen to you.

Here's the Cast of American Horror Story: Cult So Far

Information about season seven of American Horror Story has been rolling in! While last season was (unfairly) shrouded in mystery until the premiere, we actually have more morsels about season seven since this year's Comic-Con, including the new title, premiere date, and details from Ryan Murphy himself. A few regular cast members have gotten on-board, but there are also some newbies we were really not expecting (Lena Dunham?!). We'll update you with more casting news as it's revealed, but for now, take a look at the returning alums and fresh faces.

This Is the $30 T-Shirt Justin Bieber Performs in, and Now Models Are Wearing It Too

When we think of Justin Bieber's style, we immediately think of "Purpose" tour merchandise and possibly some baggy sweats. But over the past few years, the one thing that has been consistent in the superstar's wardrobe is his love for classic t-shirts. Just as we've been on the hunt for the perfect white tee - preferably one that doesn't have a $300 price tag - Bieber has simultaneously been creating one.

Two years ago, Bieber called on celebrity stylist Karla Welch to help him construct the design, and now, seven varieties of a reworked Hanes t-shirt are available, so we can all enjoy the perfect white tee that Bieber has been rocking. "He was so fearless," Karla told Vogue. "[He said], 'I want t-shirts that are long,' and they literally didn't exist in the marketplace. It was a bit of a nightmare."

Karla has turned that nightmare into a dream come true, creating different silhouettes that are all $30 each on xKarla.com. With Bieber and models like Kaia Gerber and Joan Smalls fronting the campaign, we have a feeling they are going to sell out soon. Read on to shop the perfect white t-shirt styles.

Shine Bright Like a Diamond: Easy DIY Jewelry Cleaner

When your favorite bling just doesn't have the same sparkle, instead of purchasing expensive cleaning solutions or bucking out for a professional scrubbing, try this easy DIY jewelry cleaner. Using ingredients you already have in your pantry, this concoction costs pennies to make and doesn't use any harsh chemicals - just the power of science. And you can give your old toothbrush a new life by gently scrubbing jewels postsoak. Before you know it, your special gems will be dazzling.

What You'll Need:

  • Small bowl
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon dish detergent
  • 1 cup hot water
  • Aluminum foil
  • Paper towel
  • Old toothbrush

Directions:

  1. Gather what you need for making the jewelry cleaner. You can use your favorite dish detergent - or make your own - to add a serious grease-busting aspect to this concoction. The salt, baking soda, and aluminum foil create a chemical exchange called an ion transfer, which naturally cleans metals.
  1. Line the bowl with a square of aluminum foil, and then top with the salt, baking soda, and dish detergent. Now add the hot water and watch as the liquid fizzes. Drop in your jewelry and let sit in the cleaner for 10 minutes.
  1. Remove your jewelry and use the toothbrush to gently scrub around any prongs, groves in the jewelry, or gemstones. We tested this cleaner on gold, silver, sterling, diamonds, and other gems with glittering results. Rinse after cleaning, and pat dry.
  1. You'll love how your jewelry sparkles after the quick cleaning, which is safe to do over and over.

Things Got Awkward When 1 Girl Told Her Teacher Her Dad Has "Lots of Weed" at Home

When Skylar told her teacher that there's "lots of weed at home" and that her dad even grows it, she technically wasn't lying. However, as parents of little kids know, they often say the darnedest things, and even when they are speaking the truth, you can't always take what they say at face value. Although Skylar was correct in her innocent observations about the abundance of green plants at her home, it was her delivery that left her dad and teacher having an awkward conversation.

"Weed is not good for you and we have a lot of it," Skylar said in a video captured by her dad, Dax Holt, as they discussed the incident. Dax shared the video of their chat on Facebook with the perfect caption.

My child's teacher: "So Skylar tells me you guys have a ton of weed at home."
Me: "Umm."
Teacher: "She said you're growing it."
Me:

When Dax asked Skylar if she told the school that they have a lot of weed at their house, she very seriously replied, "Yeah, a lot of it. Weed is not good for you because weed is stuff that is grass, but it's not grass because it's weed."

To clear the air, Dax asked her to explain what she meant and to show the camera. With a simple nod of her head, she headed outside and began pointing out weeds in the garden and all around the lawn. Kids certainly have a knack for putting parents in awkward situations!

Wait Until You See Why This Student's Common Core Math Work Was Marked Wrong

View post on imgur.com

There's a Common Core math assignment that's confusing parents more than the kids it is testing. An image - posted in Oct. 2015 - of a worksheet asking students to "use the repeated addition method" to solve 5 x 3. The student wrote 5 + 5 + 5 = 15 and was marked wrong. The teacher corrected it, saying the answer is 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 15, meaning five groups of three. So even though the student came up with the correct answer, and showed his or her work, points are deducted.

A second question on the worksheet asks students to calculate 4 x 6 using an array. This time the student drew an array with six rows and four columns showing that the answer is 24. But the teacher marked it wrong, saying the array should have been drawn with four rows and six columns to come the answer of 24. Again, points were deducted.

So what's going on here? Parents of today's generation of elementary school students were raised on a different math. We memorized multiplication tables and didn't transform multiplication problems into addition. Common Core math is designed to help children do more math in their heads, breaking down problems into "friendly" numbers that will help them. But do semantics like this really matter? The child has arrived at the correct number and even showcased his or her work thoroughly. Should they really be marked wrong for such an answer?

I don't know about you, but I find myself throwing up my hands in frustration over such issues on a nightly basis. Do you think this answer should have been marked wrong?

This Kindergarten Shamed 1 Mom For Her "Unacceptable" Snack: Raisins

After packing her little one what she considered to be an appropriate snack, one mom is sharing the surprising note that her child came home from kindergarten with.

The mom from Australia first shared the note on a closed Facebook group, and it has since gone viral for its criticism of dried fruit. "Please help us to encourage nutritious eating habits in children. Our healthy eating policy asks you to provide healthy and nutritious snacks for your child to eat at kindy," the note read. "The sultanas (golden raisins) packed for your child today are unacceptable at kindy due to its high sugar content."

Many parents are shocked at this school's response to the lunch, but nobody is as surprised as the mom who received the note. "This must be a joke? Of course they are high in sugar, they are fruit," she wrote in her Facebook post's caption, according to Kidspot. "Today's lunch consisted of a sandwich roll, two boiled eggs, an orange, kiwi fruit, and a handful of sultanas. She never has packaged food in her lunchbox or anything with refined sugar."

Kathryn Hawkins, a dietitian and mom, came to the parent's defense over this lunch shaming, which so many other well-intentioned moms and dads have faced recently, because she wants it to stop. "If your child enjoys sultanas and feels happy when eating them, then that is a great choice for them. If you are a busy working household and grabbing a box of sultanas for the lunchbox makes it a bit easier for you, then it is a great choice for you," she wrote on Facebook. "You DO NOT have to feel one bit guilty for putting a box of sultanas in your child's lunch and you DO NOT have to 'explain' why."

President Obama's New DC Home Needed 1 Major Construction Change For Privacy

The Obama family moved out of the White House in January, but before they could move into their beautiful $5.3 million DC rental, construction crews had to make some last-minute upgrades. According to TMZ, a brick wall was built to fortify the property and the garage was turned into an office with a bathroom, presumably for the Secret Service to use.

The Obamas will be renting the nine-bedroom, eight-and-a-half-bathroom home until Sasha graduates, making former President Barack Obama the first president to stay in Washington DC after his term since Woodrow Wilson. The home, located in the upscale Kalorama neighborhood, is clearly being protected with all the necessary security measures. And in addition to a new brick wall, the Obamas also got a new neighbor - Ivanka Trump and her family moved in just two blocks away to be closer to President Donald Trump in the White House.

Party On! Kylie Jenner Is Restocking Her Birthday Collection

Update We have good news for anyone who missed their chance to shop Kylie's Birthday collection during its initial release. The full line will be restocked on Friday, Aug. 4, at 12 p.m. PST. Perhaps this will be the first of a few re-dos, since Kylie's actual birthday isn't until Aug. 10. But we don't know that for a fact, so be sure to set your calendar alerts accordingly!

Original post Kylie Jenner's 20th birthday is on Aug. 10, but at 3 p.m. PST on Aug. 1, we all get a present. After days of teases, Kylie will release her annual Birthday Collection. The all-pink-everything collection is chock-full of swag. Think of it as the party favor you've always wanted. Included in the bundle are brushes, a palette, new Ultra Glow highlighters, and - of course - lipsticks.

The new highlighters come in King, a regal gold, and Queen, a rosy pink. For lip sets, Kylie's giving us liquid lipsticks that come in mini matte and velvet finishes. The shades look like an eclectic mix of Jenner-approved peach and neutral tones.

Kylie fans will love that the mini matte set is all old favorites: Angel, August Bug, All Nighter, Baby Girl, Gorg, and One Wish, which all came in previous collections.

If we had to sum up this whole collection in one product, it would be the "I Want It All Palette" because we want everything in this line. Made up of two highlighters and nine eye shadows, this pretty pièce de résistance comes with a Kylie Cosmetics signature dripping-mouth mirror.
We've learned from past Kylie Birthday Collections that when Kylie gets another year older, we get another set of products to cram into our vanities. And we wouldn't want it any other way. Read on for more pictures, and don't forget to shop it all on Aug. 1 at 3 p.m.

With Just 2 Photos, This Mom Shows What It's Really Like to Have Postpartum Depression

You'd never know it by looking at her Facebook feed, but Kathy DiVincenzo has postpartum depression. Like many of us who hide our true selves behind highly curated photos and filters, this mom of two has suppressed a side of her that's just as real as the one she lets the rest of the world see.

"I work twice as hard to hide this reality from you because I'm afraid to make you uncomfortable," Kathy, who also suffers from anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder, wrote in a moving Facebook post. "I'm afraid you'll think I'm weak, crazy, a terrible mother, or the other million things my mind convinces me of and I know I'm not alone in those thoughts."

To better describe her dual realities, Kathy posted two photos of herself - one, the vision of motherly perfection, and the other, an honest look at what those first months of new motherhood often look like . . . exhausted, erratic, unhappy.

"I feel like it's time to show you what that can really look like, not just the side of me that's 'Facebook worthy," she continued. "The truth is, both of these pictures represent my life depending on the day. I would only ever comfortably share one of these realities though and that's the problem. The only thing more exhausting than having these conditions is pretending daily that I don't."

Her goal in sharing her true self - or selves, rather - with the world?

"We need to stop assuming that the postpartum period is always euphoric, because for one in seven it's not," she said. "We need to start asking new parents how they're doing in a deeper way than the normal, 'so how are you doing?' that triggers the knee jerk, 'everything's great!' response."

Trump Wanted NASA to Fly Past the Moon and They Just Said "No"

Not many people - and certainly not many government agencies - have the opportunity to say "no" to the president. However, NASA's acting director, Robert M. Lightfoot Jr., might be living your wildest fantasy: he just outright denied Donald Trump something he requested.

According to The New York Times, Lightfoot and his team at NASA recently rejected Trump's desire to add more crew to its Space Launch System's first flight. Citing cost and time, Lightfoot conceded that the White House's request was "technically feasible," but it would set the mission back considerably: additional crew members would cost an extra $600 to $900 million.

NASA's investigation into whether additional astronauts could be enlisted on the already-delayed flight proved that its initial plan was the best. "It really reaffirmed the baseline plan we have in place is the best way to go," Lightfoot told reporters on a May 12 conference call.

Given that the employees of NASA are actual rocket scientists, it makes sense that they would be the one agency immune from President Trump's flaring temper and inability to accept or speak the truth.

Flip or Flop's Tarek El Moussa Breaks Down the Hottest Kitchen Trends Right Now

Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Julia Sperling

Tarek and Christina El Moussa of HGTV's Flip or Flop have made an art out of transforming once-ramshackle homes into exactly what today's buyers are looking for, and one of the most important spaces to home shoppers is the kitchen. So when we recently had a chance to chat one-on-one with Tarek, we had to ask him about the hottest design trends he's seeing in the kitchen right now.

Tarek explained that the predominant style is transitional. "I think a lot of times people aren't going modern, but they're going transitional, which is a modern look, like modern colors, with a traditional feel and real stones." He said white is still the go-to kitchen color and quartz countertops continue to be highly desirable. And while Tarek admitted that white subway tile with dark grout isn't going anywhere, he said, "Right now, I'm leaning more towards getting away from the subway tile. I'm trying to add a little bit more pop into things, and I think buyers are really liking that right now. I think buyers are really into design."

So what does that design look like? In terms of colors, it means experimenting more with gray. Tarek continued, "We're seeing a lot more gray colored cabinets, which is really cool, like stained gray." In terms of backsplash, he said, "You're seeing a lot of clay tiles with patterns and things like that where it has a matte finish with a design in it. You're also seeing glass tiles." He added, "By doing simple things like a backsplash, since there's not much square footage, you can get nice material and really get a good bang for your buck." As for his personal favorite right now? Tarek didn't hesitate in saying it's "the clay tiles with that stone finish, where it's matte colored and it's black and white, which is really, really cool."

Tarek and Christina might not be romantically compatible anymore, but their design sense continues to be in sync. Christina shared her love of the same tile style in the Spring. Perhaps this is why Flip or Flop's ratings have never been better!

This Dad Recounts What Happened When Police Were Called After His Daughter's Public Meltdown

When 8-year-old Cerys Lily spotted a Finding Dory lunch box while out shopping with her dad, she immediately fell in love with the back-to-school product. However, her dad, Robert Davies, learned that the display wasn't going on sale until the following day and he was unable to purchase the lunch box for his daughter just yet. Cerys Lily, who has autism, became visibly upset at the news and her disappointment quickly escalated into a public meltdown.

Robert had to physically carry his aggressive daughter to the car and shared on Facebook what happened after he managed to drive the distraught little girl home. Twenty minutes after arriving at his South Wales home, the police showed up because Robert had been reported for putting a child in a car against her will. Once he explained the situation, the officers were satisfied and even cheered Cerys Lily up by playing with their lights and sirens.

Robert thought that was the end of things and was completely surprised when Steven Bowen and Leigh Francis showed up at his door again the following morning - this time with the Finding Dory lunch box in hand. "I was a bit overwhelmed when they come so didn't get to thank them properly," Robert wrote. "There really are some good people out there!"

Oh My Cher! Here's Everything We Know About the Will & Grace Reboot

Nearly 11 years after its final episode, Will & Grace is returning to TV for a limited 10-episode run on NBC. Try to suppress your skepticism; series creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick are returning, along with director James Burrows. Not only is the original production team on board for the reboot, but all your favorite characters will be back in action as well. And if their viral reunion in 2016 for the presidential election was any indication, it's sure to be filled with even more ridiculous Karen Walker quotes and hilarious moments between the whole cast.

The Cast

Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, and Megan Mullally are all returning! We have our fingers crossed for some exciting guest stars, but nothing has been announced yet.

The Time Jump

Instead of picking up right after the final episode of the original series, the producers have decided the flash-forward from the 2006 finale never happened. The reboot will take place in present day, and Will and Grace are both single again, neither has kids, and she's living in his apartment.

The Pictures

The main four cast members have shared tons of pictures on social media. They appear to be as happy as we are that they're back together!

The Premiere Date

The limited series will debut on Sept. 28 on NBC!

Justice Is Being Served in the Most Glorious Ways on Game of Thrones This Season

We're a little less than halfway through the shortened seventh season of Game of Thrones, but we've already seen quite a few shocking deaths. It's true, death is not a groundbreaking concept on the show. We've been seeing gruesome, graphic, and gratuitous demises since the show's first episodes. That said, there's something pretty special about the deaths we've seen so far in season seven: they're some of the most poetic and justice-infused moments of the series so far. Maybe it's because we've spent so long with these characters that the context adds that extra layer, or maybe it's just because we've reached peak Game of Thrones. Either way, we're examining the sweet, sweet vengeance that's prevailed in the last few weeks.

6 Things You Can't Miss at Tokyo Disneyland!

For Disney fans, visiting Tokyo Disney is a no-brainer. In addition to the attractions we know and love from Disneyland and Disney World, there are so many uniquely wonderful things about the Japanese parks, from the creative and delicious food to the stunning Disney hotels. And, of course, they also have their own twists on classic rides and attractions only available to them.

There are two parks that make up Tokyo Disney - Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea - and while this isn't the perfect comparison, Tokyo DisneySea is like Disney California Adventure while Tokyo Disneyland is more like Disneyland or Disney World's Magic Kingdom. Here, I'm going to share the six things I loved best about the Tokyo Disneyland park (not DisneySea). They are like nothing you'll see in the States!

Every Parent Should Use This Dad's "X-Plan" to Give Their Teens a Way Out of Pressure Situations

Being a teen can be difficult; you're learning to navigate a more adult world full of sometimes uncomfortable social situations, which may or may not include peer pressure, while also trying to "be cool." To alleviate some of the stress that comes with these instances, one dad is sharing an invaluable code he uses with his own kids, which acts as an out for them during any awkward social situation - and it's something you and your kids should adopt ASAP.

"As a teen, forcing down alcohol seemed a whole lot easier than offering myself up for punishment, endless nagging and interrogation, and the potential end of freedom as I knew it," Bert Fulks, a father and youth minister, shared on his blog. "For these reasons, we now have something called the 'X-plan' in our family. This simple, but powerful tool is a lifeline that our kids are free to use at any time."

Here's how it works:

"Let's say that my youngest, Danny, gets dropped off at a party. If anything about the situation makes him uncomfortable, all he has to do is text the letter 'X' to any of us (his mother, me, his older brother or sister). The one who receives the text has a very basic script to follow. Within a few minutes, they call Danny's phone. When he answers, the conversation goes like this:

'Hello?'

'Danny, something's come up and I have to come get you right now.'

'What happened?'

'I'll tell you when I get there. Be ready to leave in five minutes. I'm on my way.'

At that point, Danny tells his friends that something's happened at home, someone is coming to get him, and he has to leave. In short, Danny knows he has a way out; at the same time, there's no pressure on him to open himself to any social ridicule. He has the freedom to protect himself while continuing to grow and learn to navigate his world."

Pretty genius, right?

Bert continues his post, highlighting one important component to the plan. "Once he's been extracted from the trenches, Danny knows that he can tell us as much or as little as he wants . . . but it's completely up to him. The X-plan comes with the agreement that we will pass no judgments and ask no questions . . . This can be a hard thing for some parents (admit it, some of us are complete control freaks); but I promise it might not only save them, but it will go a long way in building trust between you and your kid."
