15 Things You Didn't Know About Flip or Flop's Tarek and Christina

After seven successful seasons and seven years of marriage, the couple shocked fans last December when they announced plans to separate. While it looks like Tarek and Christina plan to finish filming season 8 of Flip or Flop, it's too early to tell whether a ninth season will ever happen. For fans who are eagerly awaiting the season eight premiere, here are some fascinating facts about the hosts that you likely didn't know.
The World's Oldest Amusement Park Opened in 1583 - and You Can Visit Today!
Disneyland has been around since 1955, and we thought that was old. But Bakken, an amusement park located in Klampenborg, north of Copenhagen in Denmark, beats Disneyland in age by several hundreds of years. Bakken opened in 1583 and is recognized as the oldest amusement park still in operation in the world by Guinness World Records.
According to Bakken's site, the park is located in the woods of Dyrehaven and is a unique amusement park that offers "a historic and nostalgic venue combined with modern and fun amusements and thrill rides." Guinness World Records says that most major medieval European cities had "pleasure gardens" with live entertainment, games, and rides, which would one day become amusement parks as we know them. "Most closed down during the 1700s," says Guinnes World Records, "but Bakken is the only one to survive."
Best of all (and unlike Disneyland), entrance to the park is free! Because of its history and location, the park says that no big brands are allowed to set up stands at Bakken and neon signs are banned. "Instead a jumble of colorful wooden structures, small independent shop owners, and quirky stalls meets visitors," says the Bakken site. Guests will be able to spot the well-known "white-faced clown" who visits the park daily and can ride the park's 80+ year-old roller coaster as well. Read on to see images of the charming amusement park, which we imagine looks quite a bit different than it did in medieval times.
Game of Thrones: What Is Daenerys's Claim to the Throne?
Seven seasons ago, the War of the Five Kings kicked off on Game of Thrones after Robert Baratheon and Eddard Stark's deaths, with Joffrey, Stannis and Renly Baratheon, Robb Stark, and Balon Greyjoy all vying for control of the Seven Kingdoms. Fast-forward several years and Game of Thrones has now turned into the War of Two Queens (and Jon Snow Fighting Wights).
The two women currently vying for control of Westeros are Cersei Lannister in King's Landing and Daenerys Targaryen in Dragonstone. Cersei's claim to the Iron Throne is pretty clear - she's the last person standing in the family of the most recent line of monarchs. But what is Dany's claim to the Seven Kingdoms?
To start with, she is the only surviving child of the last Targaryen ruler of Westeros, King Aerys II. Aerys wed Rhaella Targaryen (his sister), and they bore three children: Rhaegar, Viserys, and Daenerys. Before Dany's birth, Aerys's rule became increasingly erratic and dangerous, culminating in the murder of Rickard and Brandon Stark (Ned's father and grandfather). Their execution is in response to Rhaegar allegedly kidnapping Lyanna Stark against her will (which appears to be a false interpretation of what happened between Lyanna and Rhaegar) and Brandon and Rickard riding south to rescue her/demand justice for her.
Once Aerys executes Brandon and Rickard, the rebellion against the Targaryens is out in full force, with houses Arryn, Baratheon, Stark, and Tully rebelling against the throne, killing Rhaegar and his supporters - though the sacking of King's Landing and Aerys's death (along with the deaths of Rhaegar's wife, Elia, and their two children) lies solely at the feet of the Lannisters, who had previously stayed out of the rebellion, when they brutally invaded King's Landing and took control of the capital.
When all of this fighting broke out, Aerys sent his wife and young son, Viserys, to Dragonstone for safekeeping, which is where Rhaella gave birth to Daenerys (dying in childbirth in the process). With Aerys, Rhaegar, and Rhaella now dead, Viserys and Daenerys were smuggled out of Westeros by Targaryen loyalists, living in the Free Cities across the Narrow Sea until Dany just recently returns to Westeros to stake her royal claim.
One could argue that because Aerys was removed from the throne by a rebellion (and killed by his own Kingsguard), the Baratheons and Lannisters never had a rightful claim to the throne. As the last surviving Targaryen (that anyone knows about), Daenerys's claim to the Iron Throne is strong.
However, there is that messy detail about Jon Snow actually being the son of Dany's brother Rhaegar and Lyanna Stark, which gives him just as much of a claim on the throne as Daenerys.
All the Times We've Seen Chelsea Handler's Boobs - So Far
Chelsea Handler has basically been living in a topless version of Green Eggs and Ham - much like Sam I Am, she'll go topless on a house, with a mouse, in a box, or near a fox (and even at the top of the Twitter offices). The comic and former Chelsea Lately host has been challenging Instagram's nudity guidelines by posting photos and videos of herself sans shirt over the past two years, and though she has come under fire for the racy snaps (a few of them caused her account to be suspended), there's really nothing that will stop the notoriously outspoken star from baring her boobs on social media.
However you feel about Chelsea, her brand of comedy, or her breasts, you have to admit that her topless photos are way more funny than they are scandalous - seriously, standing on top of a snow-covered mountain with no shirt on? Is it really that much more outrageous than Kim Kardashian posing on a snow-covered mountain in a fur bikini? We've rounded up all the times that Chelsea has flashed boob at us - keep reading to see the NSFW photos now.
7 Things I Wish I Knew Before I Went Natural
Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Benjamin Stone
A few years ago, I decided to go natural because, like most people who made the switch, my hair was fried. Admittedly, my first foray into natural hair wasn't very successful. I didn't do a good job of learning how to take care of it. I didn't know what hair type I was. I didn't even know how to effectively moisturize my hair - let alone that it had to be done on a daily basis. So last year when I decided to go natural the proper way, I entered a world full of tips, tricks, amazing results, and some really surprising experiences only people with natural hair can relate to.
1. The Truth Is Hard to Find
There was a lot of information out there that left me with countless questions: Should I wash my hair in twists to prevent breakage or not in twists to get it 100 percent clean and prevent product buildup? Is my hair low-porosity or high-porosity? Why does everyone I know who's taken the porosity test have low-porosity? Is this test even accurate?
These are some of the most common inquiries a naturalista will find herself asking. Different natural-hair bloggers often have conflicting advice on the best way to take care of your hair, and sometimes you do hair tests with dubious results. A part of the haircare journey is that you have to try everything that sounds sensible and then see whether it works for you.
2. Unreliable YouTubers Are Everywhere
I'm not proud of how many times I've fallen for clickbait. It leads to traps like loading a 20-minute video on how to increase the rate at which your hair grows . . . only for the vlogger to tell you at the 19:55 mark that there's nothing you can do because hair growth rate is mostly genetic. Time wasted.

3. It Can Be Injurious
Forget relaxer burn! Have you ever gotten apple cider vinegar in your eyes? In my attempt to increase the porosity of my allegedly low-porosity hair, I have taken to regular hair rinses with raw, unfiltered ACV. Several times the rinse has gotten into my eyes, and it hurts more than my last heartbreak.
4. DIY Hair Products Are Messy - and Sometimes Smelly
See: the time my little sister put a banana and avocado hair mask in her hair and was walking around with a mushy fruit medley on her head. Or the time I tried onion juice for hair growth and had to explain my life story every time I was within a 20-inch radius of someone. Some DIY products can be messy, embarrassing, and just not worth it.
5. You Might Contract Something Gross
Ever heard of the baggy method? Well, if you haven't, it's a method where you wash or moisten your hair and apply a growth-stimulating moisturizer, wrap your hair in a plastic shower cap and your usual hair bonnet/scarf, and leave overnight. The idea is that the steam created from the heat your body naturally gives out helps open up your hair follicles to moisturize your hair more effectively and encourage growth.
Here's one great thing about the baggy method: it seems to work great! Here's one NOT great thing about the baggy method: if you do it too often, you will very likely develop a fungal infection because of all that moisture. I'm not kidding. Trust me.

6. It Takes Up a Lot of Time
Caring for natural hair can take a tremendous amount of time. Because I have VERY tightly coiled hair that tangles easily, my hair requires a lot of extra attention. For example, I cannot afford to fall asleep on it overnight without putting it in twists, moisturizing, and tying it in a silk scarf - and that's just my simple daily routine. Factor in detangling time, hair rinses, pre-poo, wash, conditioning, and hair masks, and you get a significant amount of your life spent on hair care. I haven't seen my family or fed my dog in weeks.
7. It Can Be Very Pricey
Did you know sulfates found in almost all shampoos strip your hair of its natural moisture? Now, you need to invest in sulfate-free shampoo, which is also considerably more expensive than the one you were probably using before. There are also a lot of products out there to test, and the highly recommended products for natural hair tend to be pricier than your previous options.
Furthermore, because I am committed to buying products from black-woman-owned companies, that can carry a pretty high premium (although it's worth it). I'm thinking of taking a second job at this point.
Princess Beatrice of York Hangs With Kate Middleton, but Her Style's on Another Level
You might have heard Princess Beatrice's name with ties to Uber executive Dave Clark. The longtime couple made headlines recently with news of their split, but we're here to prove the Royal Highness of York can hold her own. Not only does the princess regularly attend family events alongside her younger sister, Eugenie; her grandmother Queen Elizabeth II; and Kate Middleton, but she also participates in charity work and is developing a career in business.
From a fashion perspective, Beatrice is a natural. Her wardrobe consists of key pieces that turn heads on the red carpet, at fashion shows, and on the street, but it's the way she wears them that counts. While the princess favors Peter Pan collars, avant-garde fascinators, and all sorts of embellishments, every outfit includes an element of surprise. Read on for 73 lessons you can learn just by studying her style.
The Game of Thrones Cast Has Come a Long Way on the Red Carpet
Are you feeling Game of Thrones fever yet? The seventh season premieres on HBO this Sunday, and to celebrate, the cast hit the red carpet in LA for a fun-filled outing. While the group - which includes Kit Harington, Rose Leslie, Sophie Turner, and Maisie Williams - has a lot of experience doing high-profile events now, many of them were total red carpet newbies when the show first premiered back in April 2011. Look back at their Hollywood evolution now, then check out where to follow the cast on social media.
The Simple Thing I Started Doing on Sundays That Changed the Rest of My Mornings
Every morning sort of went down like this: I'd already be stressed out the second I woke up, and my entire shower time would be spent frantically thinking of my to-dos and errands for the week. The panic would continue as I got ready, as well as on my office commute. I was already setting myself up for a hectic start to my day, as you could imagine it didn't stop once I got to my desk. But once I began doing one very simple thing on my Sundays, the rest of my workweek changed drastically. At the end of every weekend, I sit down and plan my week out on paper, so that I'm ready to hit the ground running come Monday.
It probably sounds like the obvious thing to do, right? Totally, but once I actually committed to making it a habit, everything changed. I'm a huge advocate of using a physical planner to stay organized, but I've always filled things in day to day. Now, I take about 20 minutes on Sunday afternoon or evening to brainstorm story ideas for the week, fill in my calendar with plans and scheduled workout classes, and list out everything else I need to take care of (bills, errands, reminders, etc.). I always argue that writing things down versus adding to your online calendar (I do both) helps you remember them better. Seeing assignments, meetings, and plans spaced out in front of you also gives you a better sense temporally. For example, knowing that something's due on Wednesday doesn't give you the same urgency as seeing it due the day after tomorrow.
When Monday rolls around, my mornings are free to calmly get ready for my day now that a matrix-looking list isn't running through my head. My showers have also turned into a relaxing morning ritual with feel-good music, since I already have everything planned out. Overall, I feel so much more at ease before heading into the office. The key is really to force yourself to prep on that Sunday (and every Sunday!) to make your life significantly easier on the days to follow. Trust me, it's seriously life changing.

How Being a First-Generation American Latina Challenges the Way I Define Myself
I notice my shared cultures the most when I'm sitting at the kitchen table. I'm surrounded by women who put their families first, in a way that I genuinely do hope to channel one day, but I also have very little interest in cooking, cleaning, running errands, and more for a big family.
I'm in a relationship with a guy I love and would do anything for, who also happens to be as much of a feminist as I am. I'm building a career inside the walls of an apartment in a very different way than the women in my family have. I see the value in all they've done and that they've enjoyed every moment of it, but walking that line between two cultures (my family is from Ecuador, but I was born in the US) means that while I can understand and sympathize, it'd be close to impossible for them to do the same. Because to them, bucking tradition and doing what feels right to me as a person (versus what would make my entire family feel right) is wrong.
I am consistently teetering between wanting things in my personal life and reminding myself that I don't need to apologize just because it's different than what other women in my family have wanted. I'm different, and different isn't synonymous with wrong.
Growing up as a first-generation Ecuadorian-American means that I was an adult before I was of legal age. I had to take my grandmother to doctor's appointments because I needed to translate. I had to get myself through school applications because there was no point of reference. I'm a hodgepodge of firsts, and sometimes those firsts are an act of resistance.
I love the traditions I was raised in, that I can tell you which saint can help you find your keys, and that food is the pillar of any household. I know my way around how family is a loose term for anyone you love and feel protective over, not just actual blood relatives. But the truth is that I don't fit into the molds that are set before me - being first-generation American-Latina means learning to be OK with the fact that I'm creating my own path.
It's revolutionary and anxiety-inducing. It's knowing that I'm doing what's right and understanding that it may not be a popular opinion, sometimes with my family, sometimes with those around me. It's wanting my boyfriend to learn Spanish so he can appreciate songs that played as intros of novelas and it's also knowing that I'm going to live with him way before we get married.
Living between two cultures means that I know the nooks and crannies of traditions that I deeply appreciate, and it also means that I'm in this to create some new ones of my own.
Make-A-Wish's Campaign Encourages Travelers to Donate Miles to Help Grant a Kid's Dream
When Make-A-Wish was started in 1980, its very first wish was from a kid who wanted to be a policeman, the second a fireman, according to the foundation's CEO, David Williams. "As you might imagine over the years, kids are much more interested in an experience, and a lot of times those experiences involve travel," he told us. "Now, we're at the point where three-quarters of all our wishes involve travel. So, that's where our need for points, vouchers, miles is so much greater now than before."
Instead of (or in addition to) making a cash contribution, you can choose to donate your miles toward helping make a child's dream come true. Make-A-Wish teamed up with frequent-flyer site The Points Guy to promote awareness about Wishes in Flight. Although the campaign is only running through August in honor of the organization's Airline Appreciation Month, travelers can continue to donate any unused miles and points for as long as they'd like. Those who are part of the mileage rewards programs of American Airlines, Delta, United, Southwest, and JetBlue can donate directly from the airline's website or through Make-A-Wish's online form. Other carriers, including Alaska Airlines, Sun Country, and Hawaiian Airlines, also accept miles.
Many people don't realize that their miles will go to waste if unused. You can pay it forward rather than allowing them to expire, because every mile counts toward granting a child's wish! In 2016 alone, Make-A-Wish was able to fulfill 15,328 wishes - 75 percent of which required travel accommodations. Every year the foundation needs 2 billion miles to carry out the requests.
"Frequent-flyer miles aren't just for a vacation; you can actually change people's lives," said Brian Kelly, founder and CEO of The Points Guy. "And, actually, donating your miles will even keep your account active. If you donate even a couple thousand miles, it'll reset the clock. A lot of frequent-flyer accounts, you'll lose your miles if it goes dormant for too long, so it's a great way to not only give back but also to keep your accounts active."
The other great thing is that none of the points and miles expire once they are donated, giving the foundation enough time to allocate them.
Each carrier varies on minimum donations, but it's a doable amount from 500 to 2,000 miles. If you're feeling extra charitable, anyone who donates 5,000 or more miles is eligible to win a personal consultation with The Points Guy himself, who will help you earn your miles back by maximizing your strategy. Simply email donatemiles@thepointsguy.com and you could be one of five winners.
"These are for kids who didn't do anything wrong; they just happened to draw the short end of the stick in terms of receiving a terrible diagnosis," said David. "They're battling their illness, and we come along and ask a very simple question, and it really doesn't only benefit the child but it benefits the entire family. It's something that's immediate - it's local, it's tangible - and I think people are looking for a way to make a difference, and this is a very easy way to do it."

The vast world of Game of Thrones is still expanding in season seven. Now that Daenerys is finally back in Westeros, Dragonstone is a major location, but it's far from the only new locale featured this year. While Daenerys and her small council plot to take the Iron Throne from Cersei, the show is busy taking fans to long-talked about (but little seen) places like Oldtown, Highgarden, and Casterly Rock. As always, Northern Ireland remains a center for the show's production, but fans planning a themed vacation should be prepared to visit stunning real-world locations all across Europe to get the full Westeros experience. Read on to discover the wide array of locations used to make Game of Thrones season seven come to life.

Process Before You Respond - How to Keep Your Cool at Work
Several years ago, while working in publicity for a book publisher, we had a client traveling via private plane to New York City for a few days of media interviews. As the plane was in route, bad weather rolled in. The pilot decided to make an unscheduled landing a few hours outside of the city to refuel, knowing he would likely run out if things got held up for any reason.
My assistant received a call that night from the client and he quickly called me to let me know what was going on. We sat on the phone for the next several hours, trying to calm the client, who by that point had arrived safely into the city and would get plenty of sleep in preparation for interviews starting the next morning.
However, between our efforts to calm her and discuss the situation with the pilot, another call was placed from the client to our boss. When our boss arrived at the office the next morning, we were all questioned about the flight pattern and how we could allow this to happen. We found ourselves justifying our actions, explaining that we simply couldn't control the weather and that we agreed the pilot had done the right thing. The client had reacted as opposed to thinking things through, which in turn caused unnecessary stress for our entire team.
When you react as opposed to processing, you don't allow yourself the opportunity to see the bigger picture - in our case, our client was unable to see that bad weather had prevented her flight from landing on time and the pilot had enough sense to see what could have happened had he not stopped to refuel. We all could have lost sight of the bigger picture in the situation, but our team remained calm and stayed the course, defending what we believed was the right decision.
Sometimes it can be a challenge to step back and stay calm in the heat of the moment, but it's a skill that will serve your career well. Here are some strategies to help you keep your cool under pressure.
1. Think First
A quick reaction based on emotional charge will almost always result in more work, more conflict, and a mess to clean up. It's one of the most damaging causes of stress in the workplace.
I used to tell my team that reacting before thinking is like taking a boulder and dropping it in the middle of a pond, simply to see the ripple effect it causes. Nothing gets accomplished in those moments.
If you tend to react emotionally, take a moment the next time you feel yourself going there and pause. Force yourself to go on a walk and think about the perspectives of everyone else involved. Reflecting on where your colleagues are coming from will allow you to come back ready to collaborate and work toward a solution. Particularly if you're a manager, it's essential to help your employees feel heard, respected, and valued. The worst environment you can create is one where your team is waiting in fear for the next boulder to drop.
If you're dealing with a colleague who tends to be reactionary, learn to rise above his or her outbursts. The best thing you can do is stay calm and listen while brainstorming a solution. When you maintain your cool, you allow yourself to see the big picture and offer a helpful response which not only diffuses the tension, but also demonstrates your strength and leadership.
2. Focus on the Solution
Have you ever been in a meeting where everyone is speaking over one another, trying to interject his or her voice and accomplishing nothing? Everyone is stuck on the problem and nobody's talking about the answer.
In these situations, don't engage. Instead, remove yourself from the whirlwind of conflict and direct your attention toward the solution.
My trick: Find a "concentration point." In my previous role, our boardroom had windows with a view of a new building being constructed. When I found myself getting pulled into an argument in a meeting, I looked out the window and focused on the builders at work. It was the only way I could block out the noise and hear my own thoughts. Once you're confident you've found a solution, join the conversation. You'll walk away knowing you stayed above the fray and your colleagues will recognize your contribution.
3. Carve Out Time
If you're constantly feeling behind on deadlines or under the gun at work, you're much more likely to respond emotionally to conflict or mistakes. At the beginning of each week, block off time every day in your calendar - it can be the same time each day or a variety of times, as long as you save it completely for yourself.
Use 30 minutes to recharge: schedule lunch with a friend, go for a walk in the park, run a personal errand. If you don't have time to leave the office, commit to at least closing your door (or if you don't have an office, popping on some noise-canceling headphones) and unplugging for a few moments. You'll be refreshed and ready to focus on the task at hand.
Block off another hour designated as "task time." Let your colleagues know you're not available for calls, meetings, or chit chat. Use this time to respond to emails, complete any to-dos that have arisen during the day, and address anything else that stands between you and your commute home. You'll be amazed how much you can accomplish in a small amount of time when you don't have all the distractions. Allowing yourself this dedicated time helps open the rest of your day and ensures that when it's time to head home, you can leave work at work.
4. Be Prepared
There will be times when you feel emotional, particularly when the stakes are high for your career.
If you believe in something strongly - that you're the right person to take on a new contract or that you deserve a promotion - don't go to battle without your armor. Preparation can help you stay focused while fighting for something you really want. Think about the result you want from the conversation. Have your strongest points noted on a piece of paper and stick to them. Don't get personal and stray off topic - you risk letting your emotions lead you as opposed to approaching negotiations with facts.
Removing the emotion from work is possible, but it takes practice and intention. When we find ourselves off-center, we tend to react and later regret the behavior. By following some of these simple tips and putting them into practice, you will see a shift take place and realize that by doing so, you are creating a career that works for you.

7 Secrets Real Estate Agents Know About Bathroom Renovations
Bathrooms are often a top priority for a home renovation, and with good reason. According to Brown Harris Stevens real estate agent Katharine Tuckerman, when it comes time to resell, a "bathroom can make or break a deal." In an older building especially, a new bathroom can be a sign of the property's overall condition and is "a load off for buyers psychologically." Conversely, she explains, "a bathroom that needs renovation tells a buyer that perhaps the plumbing needs updating as well," and may trigger money-pit anxiety. Katharine shares her tips for a bathroom renovation that will see a resale return and might even prompt a bidding war!

50+ Photos That Show the Outpouring of Love at Princess Diana's Public Funeral
When Princess Diana was tragically killed in a car crash in August 1997, it seemed as though the world was mourning just as deeply as her own family. Diana, dubbed "The People's Princess," made an indelible mark on those in the UK as well as around the globe; her funeral, which was held on Sept. 6, was watched or listened to by an estimated 2.5 billion people worldwide - making it one of the most watched events in history. In London, a crowd of nearly one million people gathered to trace Diana's coffin from Kensington Palace to Westminster Abbey to her final resting place at the Spencer family's home in Althorp.
Diana's sons, Harry and William, followed their mother's coffin alongside their father, Prince Charles, and their uncle Charles, the Earl Spencer. The visibly moved onlookers blanketed the streets with heartfelt notes, bouquets, and teddy bears, and flower petals rained down from bystanders along the procession route. People also gathered in Hyde Park, where the ceremony was being aired on a giant screen, while celebrities like Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Hillary Clinton, and Elton John attended the official ceremony inside Westminster Abbey. We're looking back on the outpouring of love from the public at Diana's funeral. Scroll through to see all the tearjerking photos.
The Meaning Behind Lady Olenna's Final Speech Makes Her the Ultimate Badass
At the end of the latest episode of Game of Thrones, titled "The Queen's Justice," Lady Olenna Tyrell serves up a rather glorious mic drop when staring down imminent death at the hands, er, hand of Jaime Lannister.
After being assured her death will be painless, Lady Olenna downs her poisoned wine in one gulp and then says to Jaime, "I'd hate to die like your son: clawing at my neck, foam and bile spilling from my mouth, eyes blood-red, skin purple. Must have been horrible for you, as a King's Guard and a father. It was horrible enough for me. A shocking scene, not at all what I intended. You see, I'd never seen the poison work before. Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me."
At this news, a stricken Jaime strides out of the room as Lady Olenna presumably succumbs shortly thereafter to the poison. But what is that epic speech all about?
Back in season four, Lady Olenna's granddaughter Margaery is betrothed to King Joffrey. The marriage will form a good alliance between the two houses but also means Margaery is forever tied to a psychotic monster. So Olenna conspires with Petyr Baelish (aka Littlefinger, who is now Sansa Stark's right-hand man) to kill Joffrey. They stage the death at the wedding, poisoning Joffrey's cup with a jewel from Sansa's necklace. As Joffrey chokes, vomits, and dies right there at the banquet . . .
. . . Petyr has Sansa spirited away to a ship and Cersei blames the absent Stark and her husband, Joffrey's uncle, Tyrion, for the death. But neither Tyrion nor Sansa have anything to do with it. It's Lady Olenna all along, which she reveals to Jaime in what is perhaps the best predeath speech Game of Thrones has ever seen.
Lady Olenna FTW. We will miss you terribly, Tyrell matriarch (and actress Diana Rigg). You fought well, and now your watch is ended.
The Lannisters (and Samwell Tarly's father, Lord Tarly) now control Highgarden and all its riches. After taking out what had remained of the Martells from Dorne and the Greyjoy fleet in season seven's second episode, this is another blow to Daenerys's bid for the Iron Throne. Maybe aligning with Jon Snow isn't looking too shabby anymore.
A Game of Thrones Bath Bomb Exists, and It Brought Out My Inner Khaleesi
During Game of Thrones season, I have a Sunday evening ritual: I light a Winterfell-scented candle, pour myself a glass of wine, silence my phone, and sit down to watch the new episode of the HBO series. I just discovered a new step that I might need to add to my Sunday night agenda . . . taking a hot bath with the Pearl Bath Bombs "Mother of Dragons" fizzy ($25 each or $55 for three).
I may or may not have drawn the hottest bath possible and whispered, "Fire cannot kill a dragon!" under my breath.
The bomb, which is shaped like earth and includes refreshing ingredients like rosewood, bergamot, and lemongrass, is a good buy for more than just novelty purposes. I cracked mine open after a long day of helping my in-laws move, and its calming scents helped reinvigorate my body and mind in time to fangirl over the latest Game of Thrones episode! What's more, the fizzy eventually dissolved to reveal a ring inside. It wasn't just any ring, either, but a replica of the silver and double-pearl ring like Daenerys Targaryen wears on the show.
Of course, if you grab one of these bath bombs for yourself, you don't have to be as extra as I am about the whole situation. (I may or may not have drawn the hottest bath possible and whispered, "Fire cannot kill a dragon!" under my breath while I basically scalded my skin. This is not a requirement, nor is it advisable.)
You can use the bath bomb any time, even if you're not a huge fan of the series. Like the brand's unicorn bath fizzy, it's just a plain, good product that happens to include a bit of extra fun.
Don't believe me? Check out these photos and GIFs of the Mother of Dragons bath bomb, and you'll definitely want one for yourself.
You Should Think Twice Before Saying These Things to Someone With Depression
The only thing harder than watching a loved one struggling and not knowing how to help is actually being the one dealing with depression. With 40 million adults battling this mental illness across the United States, there are countless friends and family members who don't know what to say or try to "cheer up" the person they want support. Instead, they can end up saying something insensitive.
Many don't realize that certain "motivating" statements or suggestions can not only be hurtful for someone battling depression, but also unintentionally highlight your lack of understanding about this condition. To raise awareness and make people think before addressing anyone else with mental illness, Reddit users shared the most frustrating things people have said to make them feel better. Check the worst thing to say to a person with depression according to these 23 anonymous people.
If you or a loved one are in need of any help, the Anxiety and Depression Association of America has several resources here.
How Southwest Airlines Is Helping You See That Once-in-a-Lifetime Solar Eclipse
On Aug. 21, a total solar eclipse will darken the skies across the entire United States for about three minutes. The celestial occurrence is extremely rare. In fact, the last coast-to-coast solar eclipse occurred in 1918. To honor this exciting moment, Southwest Airlines is offering travelers a front-row seat with plenty of perks.
In a press statement, the airline company identified the flights that will have the best trajectory for viewing the solar eclipse. Travelers who buy tickets for those flights will then receive special viewing glasses and thematic cosmic cocktails. At press time, the flights included in the promotion range in price from $200 to $500. The flights are as follows:
- Southwest 1375 from Seattle-Tacoma to St. Louis
- Southwest 1368 from Portland to St. Louis
- Southwest 1577 from Denver to St. Louis
- Southwest 301 from Denver to Nashville
- Southwest 1969 from Denver to Atlanta
Of the unique travel opportunity, Southwest's manager of meteorology, Warren Qualley, said, "We plan to showcase the glow of our everyday hospitality in a different light on these celebratory flights in our Summer flight schedule," adding, "Our team of meteorologists is working hard to provide clear viewing of this solar spectacle from our flights."
The Sunglasses You Should Invest in Based on Your Face Shape
A good accessory like a pair of trendy shades can instantly pull your outfit together and add an air of mystery - just look at Anna Wintour. Finding the right pair, however, is a hard task because it all comes down to your face shape. The four common facial structures are oval, heart, square, and round. Chances are you will fall into one of these categories.
To get you started, ahead we provided a general guideline of four different face shapes and tailored the frame selections accordingly. That's not to say, though, that an oval face can't sport the same pair of shades as a heart face. If you find one particular style works for you, go for it. After all, some style rules are meant to be broken.

21 Ways to Declare Yourself an Avocado-Lover Through Ink
Everyone enjoys a great scoop of guacamole on their burrito or a few ripe pieces of avocado on top of crunchy toast, but some love the green little fruit a little more than the rest. Case in point: Miley Cyrus, who declared her appreciation for avos by giving one a prime spot on her body with a tiny and adorable tattoo. If your love for the green wonder runs as deep as hers, why not follow her lead and honor your beloved with ink? It can be done tastefully - abstractly, realistically, and even sweetly - just like these 21 people did. Get inspiration here, then check out these Spanish quote tattoos.

Jennifer Lopez's Monokini Is So Sexy, We Don't Even Know Where to Begin
Jennifer Lopez has been vacationing with her new beau, Alex Rodriguez, in France, and the pair made time for a yachting adventure in Antibes. Suffice it to say, J Lo couldn't have packed a sexier swimsuit. The star opted for a crochet monokini by Mer Culture, which features plenty of cutouts and tasseled ties on each side.

Gold hoop earrings and aviator sunglasses were all she needed to make a statement. But really, with Jennifer's finesse and ability to pull off striking silhouettes, we can't say we're entirely blown away by her look. J Lo looks comfortable enough in her one-piece that it seems just right for a gal with daring style. If you're on board, you can shop the exact suit and similar designs ahead.
How to Be Sure Your Avocado's Ripe
If you purchase avocados, you probably know the proper technique for checking for ripeness. Give the flesh a soft squeeze, and it should yield to moderate pressure. However, sometimes a soft avocado is actually bruised. Since there's nothing more disappointing than slicing into a browned avocado, I've got another way of testing for ripeness. Flick the small brown stem off the top of the avocado. If it comes off easily and you can see green underneath it, the avocado is ripe! If the stem doesn't come off or if you see brown, the avocado is not ripe.

See the Places Barack and Michelle Called Home Before the White House
Until very recently, Barack and Michelle Obama have proudly called 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue "home." For almost a decade, not only has this monumental White House served as their living quarters and "office space," but it has been where they have raised two cute little girls into poised and well-rounded young women. And while they have already selected their new home post-White House, we were curious to know where Barack and Michelle lived before they both became staples of American history. Read on for an inside look at their digs long before we referred to this power couple as president and first lady.
36 Stylish Items You Won't Regret Wearing on the Plane
Planning your travel outfit is often just as hard as packing. If you're smart, you'll layer the most essential pieces you've got, the ones that will keep you cozy on the plane but will also come in handy on your trip. Keeping style in mind, we searched for the type of ribbed jumpsuits and jersey sweatshirts that are live-in but standout stylish. Accessorize with flat shoes that you can slip on and off, a cap to secure your hair in place, and a carry-on tote to pack the little things. In an outfit this comfortable, you'll forget how good you look and wonder why everyone's staring while you go through security.
Hong Kong's It Girl Wore a Wedding Gown That Has the Entire Internet Buzzing
Destination weddings take on a life of their own, and Feiping Chang's was out of this world. The fashion influencer said her "I do's" to Lincoln Li in Capri, where she walked down the aisle in a strapless Giambattista Valli dress. She worked with the designer to create the dramatic gown and it featured layer upon layers of tulle. The poufy dress, which resembled a giant cloud, was only one of the extravagant parts of this It girl's wedding.
For the reception, Fei switched into a floral high-low dress that was similar to her welcome dinner look. The couple entered into a space filled with dangling wisteria and guests were treated to a sunset view during their meal. As far as destination weddings go (people are still talking about it), Hong Kong's socialite nailed it with her Italian location and fabulous outfits.
George and Charlotte Have Already Visited More Countries Than Most People Do in Their Lifetime
Prince George and Princess Charlotte have only been on this planet for a short amount of time, but they've already traveled to more places than most people have in their lifetime. At just 6 months old, George enjoyed a sunny vacation on the island of Mustique in the Caribbean with parents Kate Middleton and Prince William, and at 16 months old, Charlotte reportedly wrapped up her Summer at Queen Elizabeth II's home in Scotland with the rest of her family. And not to mention, they are already little pros at royal tours. Take a look at all the countries George and Charlotte have visited - so far.
7 Ways to Make $50 in a Day
If you're thinking of adding some money to your rainy-day fund, then there are a few ways to make a quick buck. But making money isn't always easy, and some of these tasks are time-consuming, so be sure to pick ones that you don't mind doing. Here are some suggestions:
- Plan a vacation: There are people looking for help with vacation planning on TaskRabbit, an website that matches up task-doers with task-givers. One of the tasks that you can do from home is help out with vacation planning, which can mean hours of research. Some of the listings charge anywhere from $13 for help with finding plane tickets to about $62 for help with planning a two-week trip to Europe.
- Clean someone's home: Cleaning a home is another way to make a quick buck, and there are a number of cleaning tasks available on TaskRabbit that can go for over $100, depending on how extensive the chore is.
- Deliver items: Have a car? Maybe you can earn $50 or more by helping someone move items. My friend recently paid a TaskRabbiter $50 to collect a cabinet for her. Check out the delivery tasks that are doable on the site. You can even earn money by helping people unpack their stuff.
- Sell used items: If there are items you need to get rid of, then try selling them on sites such as Craigslist, eBay, or Amazon. You can also bring them to thrift stores to see if you can get anything for them.
- Do 10 Fiverr tasks: Fiverr is a website where people can buy and sell services for $5. You can offer to do services like draw pictures, give advice, or perform silly acts on video.
- Rent out your couch: I've seen people renting out their couches on Airbnb, and for $50 a night in some cities.
- Participate in surveys: Participate in surveys to make extra money. Sometimes all you have to do is answer a few questions. There are plenty of legitimate opportunities that you can find through Craigslist. Of course, there are plenty of scams, as well, so be careful when responding to these listings.
Why You Actually Do Not Want to Wear BB Cream - Ever Again!
Do you even know what you are asking for? Have you actually taken a second to look in the mirror recently to look at your skin with this so-called "beauty balm" on it? If you had, you would notice that the skin on your face looks like the Sahara desert and you would not be back here asking for more of this hellish product.
As a working makeup artist, at least once a day, a client will say to me "I don't want a foundation - I just want a BB cream." Without fail, the same conversation will follow this announcement:
"Oh, OK, so you would like something oil-free?" I answer while I look at this poor woman's dry, flaky skin.
"Absolutely not! I have dry skin!" she will exclaim in horror.
"OK, so you like something with a heavy coverage." I try again.
"No! I don't like anything heavy," she will explain.
"OK, so you just want something that is matte?" I will ask calmly.
"No. I think I like to look a little dewy," she will answer.
A BB cream is in fact a foundation.
And we are back to square one. I will then explain to her that a BB cream is in fact a foundation. It can be used as a primer under a foundation or as an actual foundation. Either way, it serves to provide moderate to heavy coverage and is meant to be applied all over the face to even out skin tone and hide imperfections, as most traditional foundations do.
It is all quite confusing because "BB" stands for "beauty balm" in the Western world, when in fact this product very rarely helps anyone to look beautiful. Instead, everyone wearing it generally walks around with pale skin that looks like sandpaper.
Whoever came up with the marketing scheme that is the BB cream is a genius. He or she has convinced women across the globe that this is the product for them. Hidden behind the promise of a high level of SPF, there lies a product that is meant to provide heavy matte coverage leaving skin lifeless, dull, and without an ounce of color.
This is not a look or feel that suits most women's skin. Yet, many of you - even after you look in the mirror and see a lackluster face staring back at you and touch your skin and notice that it feels like an alligator - you actually come back to the store and ask again for a BB cream!
It is at this point that I break the news. A BB cream is not for you. It is not for any person, really, unless they are extremely oily and acne-prone.
A big reason American women have been so enticed by this product is that it promises to be an "all-in-one." It provides high levels of SPF, moisturizer, serum, primer, and foundation all in one swipe. To Americans, who are generally rushing in the morning and have very limited time for proper skin care, this sounds delightful.
Alas, like everything else in life, slow and steady wins the race. It is to our benefit to find the time to moisturize and prime our skin before our makeup.
For those of us that claim to "not have enough time" for skin care and primer in the morning, perhaps we can take a closer look at what we do "have time" for. I, for one, have time to watch the weather at least three times on the Today show while I sip my coffee. I also usually find time to check my email and look at Facebook. I often engage in several witty and entertaining text conversations with my girlfriends about nothing.
If we really examine our morning routines, most of us will find that we do in fact have the two extra minutes required to apply a serum, a moisturizer, and a proper primer. These extra minutes that we are applying products with our fingers to our face will make a world of difference in how our skin looks when our makeup is applied. It also ensures that our skin is being properly cared for and hydrated.
Everyone wearing it generally walks around with pale skin that looks like sandpaper.
Those who seek natural coverage should follow those steps with a tinted moisturizer. This step evens out skin tone and provides a light coverage and sunscreen. My two favorite brands of tinted moisturizer are Laura Mercier and Trish McEvoy. Both products will help your skin to look like a better version of itself.
If it is more coverage that you need, then a CC cream is the way to go. CC stands for "color correction," and these products are better suited for most skin types as they are dewy and hydrating and cover imperfections impeccably. My personal favorite is the IT Cosmetics CC Cream. It is a miraculous product that will change your life. This product also claims to provide serum, moisturizer, and primer, but I think it best to do those steps separately to be sure that your skin is treated and primed perfectly.
When all is said and done, do what is best for your lifestyle and your skin! Take five minutes and sit down with a makeup artist or skin care expert to determine what is best for you and stick with it . . . no matter what the latest trendy foundation is to come down the pike.
After applying your foundation, you should always look in the mirror and ask, "Does my skin look like skin? Do I look like a better version of myself?"
If the answer is no, then throw it out and try again.

It's impossible to ignore what is arguably the best hot breakfast of all: the tradition of Chinese dim sum. 53 Moments From Obama's Presidency We'll Never Forget
It seemed much of the nation started missing President Obama before he was even out of office.
As our nation's first black president, he's already a hero to many. But he also passed historic health care reform with the Affordable Care Act, attempted to curtail our nation's troubles with gun violence through executive action, and was instrumental in making America energy independent. (Of course, his presidency faces plenty of criticism, too, like not closing Guantanamo Bay, failing to pass comprehensive immigration reform, and prematurely pulling out of Iraq.)
Perhaps his most admirable qualities, however, are his humanity: he comes across as relatable, authentic, funny, and down-to-earth. To appreciate his undeniable influence over the past two terms, check out the best photos of him through the years.
Selena Gomez Calls This Town in Texas Home
While Selena Gomez's presence looms large over Los Angeles, the singer is not actually from the Golden State. Gomez, who shares both Mexican and Italian roots, was actually born in Grand Prairie, Texas, where she lived together with her mom, Mandy Teefey, and her dad Ricardo Gomez until they divorced when she was 5 years old.
On multiple occasions (including at the Houston Rodeo way back when!), Gomez has shared how special Texas is for her, because it's where both her parents were born and where most of her extended family still lives. Fun fact: it's also the birthplace the singer-songwriter Selena is named after - Selena Quintanilla.
Despite moving to LA as a teen for her Disney debut, Selena has always considered Texas home. Until recently, she even owned a house in North Texas, which became the setting for many of her (and her family's) Instagram pictures, including cute snaps of her godson!
A Travel Expert Shares a Genius Hack to Save Money on Flights From This Low-Cost Carrier
Booking through low-cost carriers like WOW Air and Primera Air can already save you loads on flights to Europe, but there's one more way to cut costs that you probably never thought of. While speaking with travel expert Brian Kelly (aka The Points Guy) about his mileage donation campaign with Make-A-Wish, he shared a genius hack for booking flights with low-fare airline Norwegian Air.
If you book in Norwegian kroner (NOK) through the Norwegian site (https://www.norwegian.no instead of http://ift.tt/1zSm95bus), you can save an extra 15 percent or more based on the currency conversion. The US dollar is stronger compared to the Norwegian krone ($1 USD = 7.89 NOK).
"That's just a fun tip people don't usually realize," Brian told us. "You actually have to check out in Norwegian, but it's cool, you just use Google Translate and you can save by paying in kroner. Who knew?"

This Indonesian Bride Wore the Most "Liked" Wedding Dress on Instagram
Indonesian bride Intan Azzahra and her groom, Zendhy Zaen, had a wedding fit for a prince and princess. The couple aren't technically royals, but that didn't stop them from throwing an extravagant wedding where the bride had not one but two Cinderella-esque wedding gowns. The bride's Cinderella gown caused a major social media frenzy, garnering over 200,000 "likes" on Instagram - that makes it the most "liked" wedding dress ever.
For her first dress, Intan wore a custom creation by Indonesian designer Ivan Gunawan, featuring delicate beading on the sleeves and bodice and a train made of soft cascading tulle and more beads. Like a royal, Intan even wore a bejeweled pearl crown to complete her look. But she didn't stop there.
Later on, she changed into a fiery-red gown that - if possible - was pouffier than her first. The design flared out at the shoulders, and layers of feathers trailed all the way down her dress. She, of course, accessorized with a second gold crown, and her guests were in red and gold, too. Read on to see all of the bride's looks from every angle.
