13 Undeniable Traits of an INFJ Personality Type
When I first read about my personality type, I felt like someone had written the description as a personal letter to me. Every word hit the nail on the head and actually helped me understand myself better than ever before. I'm an INFJ, the most rare Myers Briggs type, making up less than one percent of the population. INFJ stands for (I) Introverted, (N) Intuition, (F) Feeling, and (J) Judging. INFJs are "the advocates," with unique strengths and weaknesses that only others who share our type can truly understand. We're contradictory and compassionate, intuitive but also private and sometimes oversensitive. If you're an INFJ, you will be able to relate to these 13 traits the personality type has.
- You're a helper. INFJs are helpers who fight for what they believe in and who work to ensure the well-being and equality of others. They have strong convictions and an instinct for understanding people. However, INFJs need to remember to take of themselves, too. Their dedication to the causes they feel most passionate about is one of their greatest strengths, but it can also leave them exhausted and stressed if they forget to practice self-care.
- You are a private person. Trust doesn't always come that easily to INFJs, and they are generally very private about their personal lives. "A well-developed INFJ knows how to stay well emotionally, physically, and spiritually," says Rachel Green, director of The Emotional Intelligence Institute. "This means they know when they need to take private time to recharge their batteries but they don't stay there. They also know they have to have stimulation from the outer world and to socialize. So they develop a healthy balance between the two."
- You're extremely good at reading people. Don't try to get anything past an INFJ - they are like human lie detectors. "INFJs are known for their abilities to read people with uncanny accuracy," says Green.
- You're a perfectionist. INFJs tend to be overachievers, sometimes to a fault. They don't do anything halfway, but this perfectionism has its downsides. "INFJs too often drop or ignore healthy and productive situations and relationships, always believing there might be a better option down the road," says 16 Personalities. This perfectionism can also lead to burnouts if INFJs aren't careful.
- You're very creative. If someone has a problem, INFJs will find the solution. They are creative thinkers, which is one of their greatest strengths. "Combining a vivid imagination with a strong sense of compassion, INFJs use their creativity to resolve not technical challenges, but human ones," says 16 Personalities.
- You're compassionate. You tend to "catch" the feelings of others. INFJs are often empaths, meaning they have the ability to relate to and absorb the feelings of other people. They are extremely compassionate and are often caregivers. Not only do INFJs care deeply about the people they have allowed into their lives, but they care about the state of the world at large.
- You can be oversensitive. "When someone challenges or criticizes INFJs' principles or values, they are likely to receive an alarmingly strong response," says 16 Personalities. INFJs are vulnerable to criticism and do not like to be involved in conflict - though they will engage, if they feel strongly about the subject of the conflict.
- You're an idealist. INFJs see the world they think it should be, and they believe it's possible to improve it. They're idealists, but not "idle dreamers." INFJs don't just dream about a better world; their characteristic determination leads them to go out and make it so.
- You're both emotional and logical. INFJs are an interesting combination of traits. They are capable of being level-headed and logical, but allow their emotions to play a factor in their decision-making as well. This means that INFJs' actions reflect a unique combination of wisdom and gut feelings.
- It's all or nothing for you. INFJs don't waste their time on people or situations if they are not genuine. If they don't see a relationship going anywhere, or if something doesn't enrich their lives, they have no problems cutting it out completely. INFJs want authenticity in everything, and if it they aren't able to find it, they don't want any part of it.
- You hate small talk. Not only do INFJs have an aversion to inauthentic relationships, they also hate surface-level conversation. This personality type wants to get down to important stuff, and quickly, without wasting time on pointless details. That being said, INFJs are actually gifted with language. They are often creative writers and are able to put onto paper what they can't (or won't) put into words.
- You're determined. Strong-willed, opinionated, and determined - INFJs don't back down if they care about something, and the combination of passion and persistence is a strength that makes the personality type stand out and get things done.
- You're all about the big picture. INFJs are deep thinkers who often reflect both on themselves and the world around them. They are able to see an end goal and seek out the "meaning" behind everything.
Kate Middleton and Princess Diana Received This 1 Piece of Jewelry More Precious Than Diamonds
Just like the late Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton owns plenty of precious diamond jewels and tiaras. While many of them have been physically passed down from Queen Elizabeth II or Princess Diana, who wore her fair share of bling, there were times Kate and Diana forwent gemstones and pearls for a simple engraved pendant.
Diana's circle plate was etched with "William" and was a gift from Prince Charles after the birth of their son in 1982. Meanwhile, it's reported that Pippa bought Kate her own version from London boutique Merci Maman, confirmed on a company blog post:
"Family was one of the closest things to Diana's heart so it's no surprise that this shone through in her jewelery, featuring personalized pieces and meaningful charms . . . In 2013, Pippa Middleton continued this family tradition by giving her sister Kate, The Duchess of Cambridge, our Personalized Duchess Necklace to celebrate the birth of Prince George. Featuring a hand-engraved disc with the Prince's full name, a small boy charm and a heart engraved with a 'W' to represent Prince William."
Read on to get a closer look at both sentimental chains on Kate and Diana, then shop the exact design should you want to start the trend in your own family.
The Pioneer Woman's 5-Ingredient Corn Casserole Is Your New Go-To Side Dish
You may or may not have seen the Pioneer Woman episode with Ree Drummond's baked cream corn casserole, but after seeing the recipe, you're going to want to make it ASAP. Like all of Ree Drummond's best recipes, this summery side is fast, easy, made with only a few simple ingredients, and - most importantly - satisfying. The five key ingredients are fresh corn, red bell peppers, fresh jalapeños, butter, and heavy cream. Like an elevated version of the standard creamed corn you've probably made before, this corn casserole has the freshness of the bell peppers and the heat of the jalapeños to cut through the richness of the cream and butter.
First, you'll want to cut the corn kernels off the cob into a deep bowl with a sharp knife (as pictured above). That's the hardest part, and from there, all you have to do is combine the rest of the fresh ingredients in the bowl, add plenty of salt and pepper, and pour it into a baking dish. You'll know the corn is ready to serve when it's piping hot and bubbling, which takes less than an hour at 350°F. Reviewers' comments include "best corn I ever ate," "never any leftovers," and "my new go-to side Summer side dish." The only change you might want to make is doubling the recipe. See the full recipe for yourself ahead, and prepare to pair it with your favorite Summer potluck recipe all season long.

Without a Doubt, Kelly Ripa Is the Queen of Pop Culture Halloween Costumes
Kelly Ripa does not hold back when it comes to Halloween. In addition to nailing her pop culture outfits, the TV host often sports more than one costume on Live With Kelly, making for twice the fun. In 2011, Kelly brought on the laughs when she and Nick Lachey dressed up as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries on air, and two years later, she and her former cohost, Michael Strahan, recreated that now-infamous Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke VMAs moment. In 2016, the TV host completely outdid herself by sporting not one, but eight amazing costumes.
Channing Tatum Has an Impromptu Dance Party at a North Carolina Gas Station
Channing Tatum knows that sometimes you just have to dance it out . . . no matter where you are. While traveling across the country for his promotional tour for his upcoming film, Logan Lucky, the actor had an impromptu dance party when he stopped by a Sunoco gas station in North Carolina on Tuesday. And thankfully for us, he got the whole thing on tape. After purchasing a few items, he made himself comfortable by hanging out behind the counter, turning on some music, and yes, bumping and grinding with the store employee, Beatrice. It may not be full-on Magic Mike moves, but it will certainly make your day.
This Is How Old Elvis Presley Would Be Today
It's been almost 40 years since we lost Elvis Presley, and the upcoming anniversary of his death has sparked renewed interest in his life. One question that people always seem to ask is how old the rock and roll superstar would be now. Elvis was born on Jan. 8, 1935, in Tupelo, MS, to parents Gladys and Vernon Presley, and he was 42 years old when he tragically passed away from a heart attack on Aug. 16, 1977. This means Elvis would be 82 years old if he were alive.
Elvis usually celebrated his birthdays quietly with friends at his Graceland mansion in Memphis, TN, and since his passing, the Memphis and Shelby County Mayors have continued the tradition by holding an annual party called the Elvis Birthday Proclamation Ceremony on Jan. 8.
Charli XCX and Halsey's "Wannabe" Cover Is Basically Body Glitter in Song Form
What do you get when you mix Charli XCX, Halsey, and Lollapalooza? An incredible cover of Spice Girls' "Wannabe," that's what. We realize Halsey and Charli XCX are both busy with their solo careers, but this song is proof that we need the two of them to form a girl group, ASAP (maybe CupcakKe can be the final member?). Grab some body glitter and the nearest tube of Lip Smackers, and then check out their cover above.

You've Been Carrying Your Baby's Car Seat Wrong the Whole Time
One of the most universal pain points of parenting is carrying a baby car seat. There's just no way to do it that isn't awkward or uncomfortable.
Dr. Emily Puente of Bridge Family Chiropractic, however, just revealed a genius way to carry them, pain-free.
"It's not going to hurt your shoulder, it's not going to hurt your hip, and you're not going to have to use your knee to swing like I had to do with my two [kids]," she said of the technique before demonstrating it in a Facebook video. "Someone taught me this before, and it's been the greatest thing."
The traditional way people carry car seats puts undue strain on the body because it doesn't distribute the weight evenly across the body. Her go-to maneuver looks almost too good to be true: "I will guarantee you this is going to be easier for you to carry."
Still, in her post, the chiropractor recognizes that "due to so many different makes and models of car seats, it is likely that this method won't work for all seats."
Here's hoping it works with yours!

Not Many People Have a Coat Like Queen Rania's, but We Can All Do This Trick With Our Shoes
Queen Rania, the royal with more designer bags than we can count, clearly has a handle on the coat section of her wardrobe. Jordan's queen stepped out for the Sovereign's parade at Sandhurst Military Academy, where her son, Crown Prince Hussein, is graduating. Her cherry red jacquard design featured an asymmetrical hem, and Rania subtly played up its shape with a triangle pendant necklace.
Perhaps our favorite element of her look was the matching shoes - a pair of pumps in an identical shade. The style move is a no-brainer during the transitional season when you slip into a lightweight outfit that calls for a little more polish and less bohemian ease. Read on to close in on the details, then shop a few of these Summer-to-Fall essentials inspired by the trendy sophisticate.
Trump and Obama Couldn't Be More Different - Except For This 1 Trait They Share
This article was originally published on The Conversation. Read the original article.
Six months have passed since Donald Trump entered the Oval Office.
His administration remains deeply understaffed. His legislative agenda is stymied. He has been active in issuing executive orders, but many are toothless, others are only in the early stages of undoing Obama policies and some are tied up in the courts. So far, Trump's leadership has mostly been defined by his rhetoric.
And his rhetoric, the conventional wisdom holds, could not be more different from his predecessor's.
Barack Obama was, as president, eloquent. His language was sophisticated. He spoke in measured tones and advanced informed, reasoned dialogue.
Donald Trump is inarticulate and brusque. His language is simplistic. He dishes out invective. He shows so little regard for the facts that some say he's the exemplar of a "bullshit artist." And he promotes a dialogue of the deaf.
The differences between Trump's and Obama's rhetorical styles seem stark. Yet, when we set aside the presidents' speaking styles and looked more carefully at the specific words Trump employed in his first months in office, we were surprised to discover that, in certain ways, these two presidents are remarkably like each other and unlike their predecessors. Here's what we found – and why Obama and Trump have more in common than you would think.
How we did our research
Our analysis is based on Trump's more substantial speeches – which we somewhat arbitrarily define as those longer than 500 words – which were directed primarily at domestic audiences. We scraped from the website of the American Presidency Project all of Trump's campaign speeches and presidential addresses through July 1 that met these criteria. We ended up with 74 campaign speeches, representing more than 230,000 words, and 56 presidential addresses, which included more than 122,000 words. We compared these bodies of speech to each other and to a separate database of postwar presidential speech that one of us had collected, using these same criteria, for a recently published book.
We ran these speeches through a specialized computerized content analysis program called Diction. Diction contains 33 separate dictionaries tailored to political speech. It searches texts for the words contained in the designated dictionaries and then calculates the number of words from each dictionary that would be present in a typical 500-word sample.
Obama and Trump vs. everyone else
On two key dimensions, Obama and Trump look similar – and stand in marked contrast to all other presidents.
First, their rhetoric is much more self-referential, meaning it uses more first-person pronouns. Obama's rhetoric is 69 percent more self-referential than the presidential average, and Trump exceeds Obama by another 20 percent.
Trump employs almost 50 percent more first-person pronouns than the second most heavily self-referential president after Obama, Gerald Ford. Trump's rhetoric is twice as self-referential as the postwar presidential average.
Second, both Trump and Obama rank very high on measures of "tenacity." This dictionary includes a series of words such as "must" and "need" that call for action and that "connote confidence and totality." Obama's rhetoric is around 45 percent more tenacious than the presidential average. Trump's rhetoric is a bit more tenacious than even Obama's. They are the only two presidents who substantially exceed the average.
Obama and Trump's rhetoric suggests that the prime mover of government is not separation of powers, political parties or the bureaucracy – but the will of the president. Its self-referentialism projects an image of strong leadership and of the president as the central pivot of action. Its tenacity expresses confidence that the president will triumph over the many obstacles in his way.
For all their differences, both Obama and Trump consistently presented themselves as the solution to the nation's problems. Accepting the nomination at the Republican National Convention, Trump assured Americans, "Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it." He regularly cited his own biography as the reason that Americans should "trust" him. The irony is that the predecessor who, on this dimension, most resembles Trump is the very one whom Trump cast as an utter failure and weak leader and as his chief foil. Obama too regularly invoked his unique personal story as the reason that Americans should place their faith in him. Minus Trump's boastfulness, Obama too portrayed himself as the key agent of national transformation: "I'm the one who brings change. It is my vision. It is my agenda," he told The Washington Post in January 2009. He saw other government officials as just "good mechanics."
Yearning for a strong leader
The computerized content analysis of presidential rhetoric sets out a pattern, it does not explain it. However, we believe it likely that Obama and Trump adopted the same rhetorical tack for the same reason: Audiences across the political spectrum have craved a strong leader who will overcome Washington's paralysis and address the nation's challenges.
Especially since 9/11, American politics has grown more partisan and polarized, even as Americans' values have converged. That partisan divide has produced gridlock in the halls of power, and Congress has become a site of minority party obstruction. As a result, Americans have become frustrated with Congress, and their trust in government has plummeted. They have increasingly looked to the president to seize the initiative, conquer Washington's dysfunction and persuade Congress to act.
In 2007, "honesty" mattered most to Americans in selecting the nation's next president, with "leadership/strength" a distant second. In 2012, American voters said that "shares my values" was their top consideration in electing a president. By 2016, having a president who was a "strong leader" had easily taken the top spot, across voters of all parties, and was twice as important to them as it had been four years before.
Obama and Trump's self-referential and tenacious rhetoric – one might even call it authoritarian – seems designed to satisfy that demand for strong leadership centered in the presidency. It is not accidental that their rhetoric, as the linked charts show, also reflects a continued, long-term decline in "cooperative" and "accomplishment" language, as collaboration across party lines has been rare and as there have been few achievements. Ironically, "satisfaction" rhetoric has experienced a corresponding rise – perhaps because there has been less to celebrate and therefore more reason for presidents to proclaim that all is well.
Of course, some of this may be Donald Trump's inimitable rhetorical style. The figures above reveal that Trump the candidate was somewhat less self-referential and less tenacious than Trump the president has been. Perhaps he was simply restraining himself during the campaign. Once ensconced in the White House, he could become more himself. Trump the president may be Trump unleashed.
But the data suggest that Trump is also a manifestation – albeit an extreme manifestation – of our political age. Obama's self-centered, self-confident but soaring speeches gave way to his successor's self-centered, overconfident and vain tweets. Karl Marx knew what he was talking about: History repeats itself, the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.
Nevertheless, we'd better get used to authoritarian rhetoric. It appears to be here to stay.
Kate Middleton Makes These 12 Royal Updates to Her Wardrobe Every Fall

There's nothing wrong with that - she knows what feels comfortable and, of course, what actually looks good. But of course, there are little tricks and tips she picked up at Kensington Palace that she'll never forget.
The duchess knows just when to pull out her tights and what season it's appropriate to work tweed and plaid into her look. Of course, there's always room for a little experimentation. Gendry Is 100% Returning to Game of Thrones This Season!
It's been one of our burning questions for the last couple seasons of Game of Thrones: where the hell is Gendry? And, of course, the follow-up: is he ever coming back? Now we know the answer is yes! During the big Game of Thrones premiere red carpet in July, the actor who plays Gendry, Joe Dempsie, showed up and walked the red carpet (looking very handsome, I might add). It could have been a somewhat subtle confirmation of his return, but he gave solid confirmation when he told The LA Times he's definitely back this season. His reaction to fans figuring out that he'd be back was positive: "Very fortunately, from what I've seen it's been nothing but interest and excitement and some quite witty memes."
Image Source: Getty / Jason LaVeris
Now, not only do we know the answer to if he's coming back, but also when his reappearance will go down. Although the huge leak at HBO that went down after someone hacked their data resulted in a number of released scripts and upcoming episode footage (which included some major spoilers for season seven's action-packed fourth episode, "The Spoils of War"), the information about Gendry's big return actually comes from IMDB. The page for next week's episode, "Eastwatch," initially included Dempsie's name, signaling that Gendry will be in episode five.
HBO must have picked up on the slip-up, because the page now has no mention of Dempsie or Gendry. If he does come back, though, it will be a welcome return, since we haven't seen the character since he was rowing away in season three's "Mhysa."

GLOW Season 2 Is a Go!
If you haven't yet had time to watch Netflix's latest original TV series, you should take this weekend to familiarize yourself with GLOW, aka the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, especially since Netflix just renewed the series for season two!
This fictional account of forming the real-life 1980s all-female wrestling show stars Alison Brie, Marc Maron, Betty Gilpin, and about a dozen more quirky ladies who come together to film the pilot for what would go on to become a cultural phenomenon.
There are so many reasons we need the aforementioned season two. First off, there is still so much story to tell. The entire first season is about these ladies coming together with director Sam Sylvia (Maron) to film the GLOW pilot, which means the wrestling show is still in its infancy when season one ends. While GLOW has not been officially renewed, the buzz around the show is strong, plus the stars and creators are definitely in for more seasons if given the chance.
Executive producer Liz Flahive told Deadline that they really only scratch the surface of the characters in season one. "The first season we really take our time," said Flahive. "We're starting at the audition and we're going very slowly to when they get to find their characters, to how they get to the actual making of the pilot of GLOW. We're not quite at the moment where they are living their wrestling characters 24 hours a day. We're definitely starting to deal with the inner play of their selves and their wrestling personas and how those start to interact."
Meanwhile, Brie and Gilpin are already looking forward to when their characters are more seasoned wrestlers and therefore they get to do more impressive wrestling moves in the squared circle. "Betty and I sometimes fantasize about what would happen in season two, but I think most of it pertains to wrestling," Brie told Collider. "I can only imagine what we'll get into, as the ladies are shooting more episodes. I want to get in the ring and learn more big moves. I think that would be really fun."
Brie also told The A.V. Club that she and Betty watch WWE Raw and talk about using some of their most complicated moves. "Sometimes Betty and I will text each other videos of WWE wrestling and be like 'goals. Let's learn that one. Season two! Season four!'"
The original GLOW syndicated series ran four seasons, so four seasons on Netflix seems like a good place to start.

Stop Throwing Out Chickpea Water! Here's Proof That It's Magical

Aquafaba, aka the viscous cooking water from chickpeas, is the latest craze on Pinterest for its ability to mimic egg whites. Use a stand mixer or wire whisk to beat it into a fluffy, foamy meringue that can be used in vegan mayo, vegan marshmallow fluff, meringue cookies, or pie topping and even baked goods like cinnamon rolls. Allow these recipes to prove to you just how truly magical aquafaba is.
All Food From Chinese Restaurants Contains MSG and More Secrets Revealed by an Employee
If you've always wanted to know what really goes on inside a Chinese restaurant, you're in luck. A restaurant employee recently did a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) entitled Your Typical Chinese Restaurant Employee, and he answered a lot of users' questions that touched on everything except the exact recipes (some things have to remain a secret!). He wrote, "I am Chinese. Parents are Chinese. Parents own a typical take out Chinese food restaurant. I have worked there almost all my life and I know almost all the ins and outs." Curious about his insider secrets? Read on for some of the standout questions and answers, and then catch up on the whole AMA here.
1. The secret to authentic Chinese food is the sauce.
Someone mentioned that they try to make Chinese food at home but it's never nearly as good - not even "as good as the worst Chinese takeout." Turns out, the major difference is the sauce.
Chinese Take-In: Chicken Lo Mein
2. Using a wok makes a difference.
Another reason your homemade stir fries and lo mein might not taste authentic is that using a wok is far superior to a regular skillet. "The ability to flash cook in a wok makes a big difference believe it or not."
3. North American Chinese food is cheaper.
4. The secret to the chicken in dishes like General Tso's is the breading.
5. Yes, many restaurants really do use the same images for the menu.
6. Don't believe a restaurant if it says it doesn't have MSG . . . it's already in soy sauce and many other sauces.
7. The best thing to order is anything Mongolian style. At least, that's this guy's personal favorite.
8. The one thing you should NEVER order is . . . fries.
Guys, There Are Only 9 Episodes Left of Game of Thrones EVER
This season of Game of Thrones is already one of the best - with it being the second-to-last season, sh*t's been going down, but I think all of the exciting events are kind of distracting from us from something truly heartbreaking: the show is almost over FOREVER. Last year we learned that the final two seasons would consist of 13 episodes; seven for the current seventh season, and a paltry six for the final season.
So let me remind you how few episodes we actually have left: nine. Nine! Nine. That's right, this weekend's episode will be the fifth episode of season seven, then two more after it. Three total left until we're Game of Thrones-less for another entire year. But that's not even as sad as the fact that when season eight is finally back in 2018, there will be fewer episodes in the season than ever before, and on top of that, it will be the last season ever. I guess we still have those spinoffs to look forward to, but still: it's appropriate to start the despairing now.
This Is the Bloody History Between Jaime Lannister and Euron Greyjoy
In the Game of Thrones season premiere, we see Cersei and Jaime Lannister struggle with almost being completely surrounded by enemies. They know that they need a powerful ally in this war if they are going to keep the Iron Throne, so they turn to Euron Greyjoy. But who is he and how exactly does he know Jaime Lannister?
We get some of their backstory when Euron comes to King's Landing, and the two men reference a battle - the Greyjoy Rebellion, which happened nine years before the events of the show. According to the books, the Ironborn, or natives of the Iron Islands, not only wanted independence, but to revert to the "Old Way," or their traditional lifestyle of reaving and plundering in the name of the Drowned God. Balon Greyjoy, Euron's brother (and Theon and Yara's father), declared himself the King of the Iron Islands, rebelling against current King Robert Baratheon, who himself had usurped the throne from Aerys Targaryen. Next, Balon planned the Raid on Lannisport, and Euron Greyjoy sailed to Casterly Rock and burned the Lannister fleet.
The Ironborn were eventually overtaken by Robert and his allies (which was pretty much everyone in Westeros besides the Greyjoys), and Jaime Lannister was able to take part in Robert's massive victory at the Siege of Pyke, which he and Euron are reminiscing about (at the time, Jaime is part of the Kingsguard and the fleet of ships belonged to his family). Jaime and Euron were both personally in that battle, and Euron even praises Jaime's fighting ability in the season seven premiere, despite losing the battle. Euron lost two of his nephews, Balon's sons, in the rebellion.
Euron had to go into exile after the defeat, but his Iron Fleet grew stronger. Balon Greyjoy surrendered to King Baratheon and was accepted back into the kingdom in peace in exchange for his son, Theon, staying with the Starks as a hostage.
On top of all this dramatic history, Jaime could also inherit Casterly Rock, an area that was once promised as a reward to Balon Greyjoy once the war between the North and Lannisters is over, since Casterly Rock is technically under rule of House Lannister.
So the Greyjoys, Lannisters, and Baratheons certainly have a fraught relationship, given they've gone to battle before. But it looks like the betrayal of their relatives is what is going to bring them together as allies, despite their complicated history.

Diana's Age When She Married Prince Charles Will Make You Feel Uncomfortable
It's hard to forget the momentous occasion that was Princess Diana and Prince Charles's wedding. The two tied the knot in a ceremony only fit for royalty in July 1981 with an estimated 750 million people watching around the world. While there were hints leading up to their wedding that showed cracks in the fairy tale the public wanted to believe was coming true, everyone seemed genuinely happy and excited for the new addition to the royal family. During ABC's recent The Story of Diana: Part One special, historians and those closest to the royal family spoke about Charles's journey to find a wife.
While he spent a few years being a playboy, he knew he "needed to find a virgin" to marry, and that meant he had to look for someone young. The prince had already had a relationship with Camilla Parker Bowles (then Camilla Shand), which meant she basically ruled herself out as a possibility because they had already slept together. Charles then began dating Diana after breaking up with her older sister. While they seemed to enjoy each other's company, they had only gone on 12 dates before he proposed. The prince thought he had found the right virginal and impressionable woman to make his princess and told friends that he would learn to love Diana in time.
Charles was 32 years old when they tied the knot, while Diana was only 19. The age difference, as well as Charles's frequent questionable behavior, soon got in the way. They two went on to have an extremely tumultuous relationship before Queen Elizabeth II ordered them to get a divorce. While large age differences are nothing new in Hollywood (and are never a big deal), the fact that the prince wanted someone he could easily influence is a bit off-putting.

Mariah Carey: elusive chanteuse or supercool mom? According to her Instagram, it seems the iconic singer is more devoted to the latter role. But let's get one thing straight from the get-go: Mariah is not your average celebrity parent. She has ridiculously expensive taste, and as a result, her kids are treated to nothing but the best. This Is the Coolest Thing You Can Do With Your Baby's Old Onesies
Onesies get their name due to the fact that they're one piece, but because babies grow so fast - seriously, why so fast?! - there's almost a double meaning to the name, as it may feel like your child only wore each one once before promptly growing into the next size. Babies go through a ton of clothes super quickly, but there are inevitably a few items that will end up meaning more than the others because of how you remember your little one looking in it, or because something monumental happened while they were wearing the article.
But once your child grows out of that adorable pair of pajamas or seriously cute onesie, there isn't much you can do with them besides keep them in a box along with their baby books and old toys - until now. The Etsy shop ImaginationAcresLLC advertises adorable, handmade stuffed animals made from your child's old clothes, and they're the coolest keepsakes. Whatever your reason for having one or two special outfits of your child's saved, rather than relegate it to an old, dusty box, give it new life by getting it turned into something that your child can actually play with and love.

This Baby Is All of Us Getting Our Hair Washed, and Now She's an Internet Sensation
It's videos like this that remind us to take a step back from the pre-holiday chaos and appreciate the simple things in life, like getting your hair washed. A video of this adorable baby getting her hair washed has hit the internet and people just cannot handle her! Taveon Glenn posted the clip on Facebook of his newborn daughter, Amira, experiencing absolute euphoria the second the water hits her tiny head, and it's the sweetest thing we've seen all day.
The video has been viewed over 24 million times, probably because it's totally mesmerizing. Anyone who loves getting their hair washed at the salon can relate to the blissful feeling of having someone else wash your hair. We'll definitely be passing around this sweet video at our Thanksgiving dinner table!
Holy Sh*t - Halo Top Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Is Here and It's Unreal
Today, friends, we have a holiday miracle to bestow upon you, a cornucopia of blessings. We barely had a hot minute to recover from the emotional meltdown that ensued after seeing all seven of the new Halo Top flavors before freaking the f*ck out again when we realized that a pint of pumpkin freakin' pie was waiting for us to taste, too.
Because we care about you, we wanted to be the first to let you know that no, this is not a vivid hallucination, and yes, Halo Top Pumpkin Pie is in fact real and available this season until the end of November. At only 360 calories per pint, you could annihilate a carton in a single serving, and it's still about the same number of calories as a single slice of pumpkin pie. Let the pumpkin-spiced pandemonium begin.
Pumpkin Pie is a flawless flavor - it unanimously scored five out of five from all taste testers, as we were blown away by its beauty, its glory, its flavor, and its gift to our senses and our health. The taste is not too sweet, not too overpowering, and not even the slightest bit artificial - it's as if you blended an actual pie into a creamy pumpkin milkshake and served it in scoops. It's got a bit of a texture from the pie crust, which makes it not just pumpkin flavor, but pumpkin pie flavor, and we appreciate that attention to detail.
Here's what our (clearly overwhelmed and marveled) taste testers had to say.
- "Oh. My. F*cking. God."
- "Holy sh*t, man."
- "Yum! Love the pie bits!"
- "HALLOWEEN YUMMERZ."
- "OMG! Tastes like Thanksgiving!!"
- "I don't like pumpkin pie, but I LOVE THIS."
- "Lovin' the pie crusts!"
- "SO GOOD!"
- "Tastes just like pumpkin pie! Crazy!"
- "EXACTLY like pumpkin pie."
- "Delicious!"
- "I have never tried a better pumpkin-flavored anything."
- "Today I was reminded that God loves me and I think I saw the face of Jesus."
Now you know what to do: sprint to your local grocer and stock up as if the ice cream apocalypse is upon us. Buy an extra freezer for your garage, and load it with Halo Top Pumpkin Pie. Enjoy!
18 Selena Gomez Bikinigrams That Prove She's Definitely a 10
If there's one thing we love about Selena Gomez, it's that she's always game to show off her stylish swimsuits. After all, she's hot and she knows it. In fact, when the star called the TJ Show and was asked to rate her hotness on a scale from one to 10, she said, "On a good day, I would say - like a premiere day - I would be a good nine. And then, on my every day, I feel like a six. Gosh, that sounds so bad! I feel like a six or a seven."
But from the look of Selena's sun-kissed bikinigrams, for which she changes her style based on the prints, colors, and cuts of her suit, we'd say she's a definite 10 - even when she's on the beach with no makeup on. Scroll to find 18 times Selena proved she can work a swimsuit like it's nobody's business.

This Woman's Hair Colorist May Have Saved Her Life
We have a story for you to think about the next time you consider letting your ends grow out. Eileen Corey is the former Health Correspondent for WKYC in Cleveland, OH. Back in the 1980s, she was beloved not only for her helpful reports, but also for her fiery red hair, which was somewhat of a local media trademark.
Although she's moved on from the station, Corey still keeps her color fresh through monthly appointments with her stylist, Kari Phillips. Since Phillips has been doing Corey's hair for over 15 years, it's safe to say that she's an expert when it comes to her client's head. But at their last appointment, Phillips noticed a mole she hadn't seen before on Corey's hairline.
Luckily, Phillips's sister is a dermatologist who has educated her on the symptoms of skin cancer. Phillips went with her gut and urged Corey to get the mark checked out. It turned out to be melanoma.
Because Corey acted quickly, Phillips will only need surgery to remove the mole - no chemo or radiation is necessary. Now, she's urging all stylists to be on the lookout for their clients' health.
Phillips's dermatologist Dr. Pam Davis agrees, but says you don't need to wait until your next cut or color to look. According to Dr. Davis, the best time to check for suspicious spots is right after you shower, because its easier to see when you hair is wet.
If you think you may have a cancerous mole, talk to your doctor immediately.

Kesha Frees Herself From Her Past in the Stunning Music Video For "Rainbow"

On Friday, the same day Rainbow debuted, Kesha released the music video for the titular single. In an essay for Refinery29, Kesha explained the meaning behind her raw lyrics and how she hopes the song encourages self-love. "There's a line in 'Rainbow' that I really love: 'What's left of my heart is still made of gold,'" she wrote. "I truly believe that. It's true for me, and it can be true for others, too. I know giant pieces of my heart have been held captive in the past. But not anymore. And what's left is f*cking pure gold, and no one can touch that." Listen to it above.

Employees Say This Company's Perks Save Them "Countless Hours"
The following post was originally featured on Fairygodboss.
These days, having a full-time job often leaves you with very little free time - and when you do get to enjoy a few precious hours outside of work, you're probably trying to squeeze in as much QT with family and friends as possible. This means going to the doctor, getting to the gym, or just prioritizing your health in general sometimes seems nearly impossible.
It shouldn't be this way, though - and Time Inc. gets that. That's why they've developed some amazing health and wellness programs, as well as family-friendly benefits, that help employees save time and stay healthy when things get crazy. Moreover, Time Inc.'s programs enable employees to bring their best physical selves to work each day.
We spoke to Teri Lukin, who heads Time Inc.'s Wellbeing Program. She filled us in on some of the numerous perks that the company provides, including an onsite health center (which gives employees access to primary healthcare); community groups that help employees network; onsite yoga; short-term backup and emergency care options for both children and adults; annual flu shots, mammography, and biometric screenings; fitness challenges; Weight Watchers meetings; a meditation series; on-site massages; and spring and fall walking clubs at lunchtime.
"Our employees' health and well-being is one of our top priorities," Teri told us. "From wellness workshops to onsite health screenings and classes, we strive to create programs and opportunities that make it easy for our employees to stay healthy, when they're busy with work and everyday life."
Time Inc. will also hook you up with a personal health advocate who can help you and eligible family members resolve healthcare and insurance-related issues.
Cami, Time Inc.'s associate director of consumer marketing and revenue, explained to us how some of these benefits add value to her work experience. "Beyond the pride that comes from working for a company with such well-respected brands are the benefits that come with the programs and conveniences offered to staff members," she says.
While she's participated in many of Time Inc.'s programs over the years, she points to two that she's found particularly valuable: the Weight Watchers At-Work Program and the Working Parents' Support Group. "My success at losing 25 pounds on Weight Watchers was definitely helped by making it convenient to attend meetings and having colleagues that truly support and share at the meetings," she explains.
Cami adds that it was especially helpful to have a Working Parents' Support group at her office when she was a new parent. "It was really helpful to have other parents to lean on and get advice from when I became a parent and throughout the school years."
In addition, Cami loves that some of Time Inc.'s programs have made it easier to deal with dreaded errands, like going to the DMV. "I only recently found out that we offer DMV vision testing in our Health Center that allowed me to mail in my form and skip the lines at the DMV," she says. "That is a huge relief/time-saver!"
Speaking of time-savers, imagine what life would be like if you didn't have to worry about fitting visits to the doc or dentist into your schedule. How amazing would it be if you could avoid the stress that comes with spending an hour in the waiting room before even seeing your doctor . . . all while you're already an hour away from your office and in danger of missing your next meeting?!
Gil, a senior finance manager at Time Inc., explains: "The Health Center has saved me countless hours that I would have spent traveling to/from doctors and waiting when I've had ailments ranging from strep throat and conjunctivitis to orthopedic injuries. Our nurse practitioner has been able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issue."
"The flu shot given every fall has prevented me from getting the flu over the past 20+ years," Gil adds. "The health screenings are very helpful in that I can keep tabs on my blood work/results and make any needed changes in my lifestyle/eating choices to keep everything at a heart healthy level."
Beyond saving time and encouraging good health, Time Inc.'s perks help moms and dads make things work. "The Backup Dependent Care program has proven to be an invaluable benefit countless times when my son is sick or his school is closed," says Jenni, a compensation director at Time Inc. "Rather than be forced to miss work, I've been able to book quality care last minute at a low cost."
If reading about these incredible perks is making you jealous, we hear you. Good news, though - Time Inc. is hiring, so you can check out their open positions today . . . and perhaps one day soon you'll score an awesome job and an awesome work-life balance!
Cory Booker Has a Plan For Making Weed Legal in the US - Here's Why It Just Might Work
The United States has an incredibly complicated relationship with marijuana. More than half of all drug-related arrests in the US are related to cannabis, and we're not talking about a small number of people. Between 2001 and 2010, there were a staggering 8.2 million marijuana-related arrests, and almost all of them were for mere possession of the drug. This would be understandable if we took a common stand or had a national policy in place, but instead the rules and regulations vary from state to state, from full-on legalization to complete criminalization. As a result, we've got a patchwork of laws across the country that are often murky and always inconsistent. It's a recipe for disaster, and it should come as no surprise that there are millions who have suffered overzealous punishment in the hands of our nation's criminal justice system.
The Plan to Finally Fix Our Pot Problem
New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, however, has a strategy. On Aug. 1, he announced a long-teased piece of legislation: the Marijuana Justice Act.
"Our country's drug laws are badly broken and need to be fixed," Booker said in a statement. "They don't make our communities any safer - instead, they divert critical resources from fighting violent crimes, tear families apart, unfairly impact low-income communities and communities of color, and waste billions in taxpayer dollars each year." The best way to deal with this systemic pattern of damage, therefore, is to stop doing what we're currently doing - and try something else.
How This Law Could Fix Our Broken Drug Policies
What this new act proposes is to completely legalize marijuana on a federal level. This would enable the fair trade and regulation of the drug on the open market. It would also work retroactively, giving individuals who are currently serving prison terms for pot-related crimes the ability to petition a court for a resentencing. Booker emphasizes the particular strain current marijuana laws have put on minority communities. "Descheduling marijuana and applying that change retroactively to people currently serving time for marijuana offenses is a necessary step in correcting this unjust system," he says. "States have so far led the way in reforming our criminal justice system and it's about time the federal government catches up and begins to assert leadership."
The bill doesn't purport to be the answer to all the problems facing America right now. It does not address harder drugs like opiates - which are fueling a nationwide health crisis - but it does look to fix some things we have the ability to change. It also isn't blind to the fact that we need to invest not in the War on Drugs, but in rebuilding the communities most damaged by the failed policies of the past. The bill would hold back criminal justice funding from any state that failed to bring down its incarceration and arrest rate. That funding would then be funneled into a larger national program supporting job training, reentry programs, community center investment and other programs targeting minority communities hardest hit by an unprecedented rise in pot-related criminal arrests.
Why This Particular Bill Matters So Much
Booker isn't the first to concoct radical legislation aimed at turning drug statistics around, but he is certainly the most hopeful. In a Facebook Live video announcing the bill, he spoke to how well the states that have legalized weed are doing, which is a far cry from the current state of affairs on a national level. The senator is well aware that he will face skepticism, pushback, and legal hurdles from those who aren't as sold on the possibilities as he is - including from the extraordinarily marijuana-averse attorney general, Jeff Sessions. But that hasn't deterred Booker, who stated thoughtfully in his video announcement, "I believe the federal government should get out of the illegal marijuana business." And if anyone can do it, it's Cory Booker.
