Brienne of Tarth and Arya Stark's Friendship Is Even Sweeter in Real Life

Game of Thrones fans completely lost it when Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) reunited in the seventh season's fourth episode, but as much as we're loving their reignited bond, Gwendoline and Maisie's friendship is even sweeter in real life. The two always seem to have the best time at red carpet events, and in August, they couldn't stop gushing about how much fun they had filming their Game of Thrones scene. "Working with Gwen was great fun," Maisie told EW. "She's been fighting people around the same height as her, and I've been used to fighting people who were close to my height, so we both had a lot to get used to." Gwendoline added, "Oh, it was really fantastic. We worked really hard on it. It's exciting when you learn skills on a job . . . it was exciting to see that development in somebody else too, in Maisie." We can't wait to see where Brienne and Arya end up in the rest of the season.

You've Never Seen Anything as Beautiful as Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber's Malibu Home

Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her handsome husband, Rande Gerber, have created a one-of-a-kind residence as breathtakingly beautiful as they are. The couple recently renovated their spectacular 5,254-square-foot waterfront Malibu beach compound and put it on the market this Fall for a whopping $60 million. The very private property boasts a main room with floor-to-ceiling glass doors and panoramic Malibu views.

The master suite has a fireplace, its own sitting area, dressing closets, and not one but two luxurious bathrooms. Two additional bedrooms are situated around an interior courtyard, and a large fourth room with ocean views is currently being used as media room but could easily be transitioned to an office or fourth bedroom. The gourmet kitchen has a breakfast bar and a large deck wraps around the outside of the house. A tennis court and pool occupy part of the three-acre property's verdant grounds, which can be accessed via a long, winding driveway.

As for where Cindy and Rande will move to, they just spent millions on an apartment in the same luxury building in New York City as best pals George and Amal Clooney. They also used to have neighboring vacation homes in Los Cabos, Mexico.

The Bambi Pose Is Real, and Bella Hadid's Not the First to Do It

If you ever find yourself sitting upright in child's position during yoga, you're essentially doing the Bambi pose. Coined by Elle, this move is defined by having your thighs over your calves. (For reference, we included a photo of Disney's Bambi in this position below). Meanwhile, your hands can rest on top of your legs, to the side, or you can hold a drink (our preferable choice). You can also arch your back a little, preferably doing so in a swimsuit to maximize this pose's Instagram potential.

The Bambi pose phenomenon - it's real, guys! - has been perfected by the likes of Bella Hadid, Kylie Jenner, and a handful of fashion influencers. Olivia Culpo even did it in denim shorts and a tee while packing, proving you can strike a Bambi pose anywhere, anytime. This Instagram trend might last longer than the thighbrow.

President Trump, a 70-Year-Old Man, Still Hasn't Figured Out How to Shake Someone's Hand

Now that we're firmly into Donald Trump's presidency, it's becoming increasingly clear that the president has one huge problem (and it's not the size of his hands). Donald Trump, who is 70-years-old, has not mastered the art of a handshake.

During a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, as one example, Trump proved once again that he has absolutely no idea how to shake someone's hand. The bizarre interaction - which could be more accurately described as handholding, since it lasted nearly 20 seconds - is not the first time Trump has exhibited his odd technique. He also tortured Kanye, then-Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, and Peter Thiel. We've got the receipts ahead.

If You're Doing This, You're Making Your House Look Cluttered

The other day I had some friends over, and while I was pouring drinks, one of them commented about how clean my house always looks. Now, considering that the last time my floor saw a mop, there was a different president in office, I know that "clean" isn't really what she meant. Still, I'm happy that when people walk into my house, they think it looks put-together and maintained, even if there may or may not be a pile of clothes that need to be folded on the side of my bed. The reason for my home's tidy aesthetic isn't that I've hired a maid; it's that I've avoided some painful decor choices that make homes look cluttered and consequently dirty. Keep reading to learn what they are.

66 Tried-and-Tested Tips For a Frugal Life

It's easy to say that you want to save more money. It's harder to actually implement that. Living a frugal life calls for a lifestyle change and a conscious awareness of how you're spending and saving. It also requires a certain know-how. Learn these tried-and-tested frugal tips from fellow scrimpers cited in Reddit's subsection for frugal people.

How to Talk Your Way Into Flying First Class

Flying first class is the ultimate indulgence in travel, but first-class tickets are usually exorbitantly expensive. When you board a flight, airlines love tempting you with empty first-class seats as you walk past to squeeze into your middle seat in coach. But there are ways to get into the hallowed grounds of first-class seating without paying first-class prices.

If you're the type of person who always finds a way to talk your way into a room upgrade in a hotel, use some of those similar skills to score better seats on your next flight. Know how the system works and make the most of any opportunity you get to justifiably request an upgrade.

There's no guaranteed method of getting a free first-class upgrade, but here are some tricks you can use to boost your chances next time you fly.

1. Take Advantage of a Full Flight

As headlines about recent unsavory events have clearly demonstrated, airlines often overbook flights in order to maximize the number of seats filled when passengers miss their flights. If coach seats on a flight are overbooked, the airline will be much more likely to upgrade passengers to empty first-class seats so that there is room to accommodate everybody with a coach ticket.

2. Offer Up Your Seat

If your flight is overbooked and you're not in a rush to get to your destination, offer to give up your seat in exchange for a first-class ticket on the next flight. You'll save the airline a headache, and they may treat you to a more luxurious trip for your troubles. Usually, you'll just be offered a voucher for a flight in the future, but it's worthwhile to try your luck at a first-class seat.

3. Know When to Complain

You settle into your seat in coach and try to turn on your TV. It doesn't work. In this situation, a rookie traveler might despair about their bad luck, but a pro uses the situation to their advantage. If there is something wrong with your seat, maybe a broken tray table or a busted window shade, try asking to be moved. Play the game a little bit and flex your acting chops when you complain about how excited you were to watch Minions. If all other coach seats are full, you may be given a seat in first class.

4. Dress the Part

Dress for the airplane seat you want, not the one you have. Sure, there's no good reason first-class passengers and coach passengers should dress any differently, but it couldn't hurt to dress nicely when requesting an upgrade. If you usually dress for flights the same way you dress when you're watching Netflix in bed, try sprucing up your look. And as always, be courteous and polite.

With more and more of the seat-filling process becoming automated, it's becoming increasingly rare to speak person to person with someone at the airline who can grant you a seat upgrade. Even if you're unable to get an upgrade, remember: if Kanye West and Kim Kardashian can fly coach, so can we!

No matter where she's headed, from court to the red carpet, Amal's outfits always stand out in the crowd. It's not so much that what she wears is so different or out-there; it's that she doesn't overdo it, knows how to accessorize, and always keeps things classy (no revealing dresses here).

18 Selena Gomez Bikinigrams That Prove She's Definitely a 10

If there's one thing we love about Selena Gomez, it's that she's always game to show off her stylish swimsuits. After all, she's hot and she knows it. In fact, when the star called the TJ Show and was asked to rate her hotness on a scale from one to 10, she said, "On a good day, I would say - like a premiere day - I would be a good nine. And then, on my every day, I feel like a six. Gosh, that sounds so bad! I feel like a six or a seven."

But from the look of Selena's sun-kissed bikinigrams, for which she changes her style based on the prints, colors, and cuts of her suit, we'd say she's a definite 10 - even when she's on the beach with no makeup on. Scroll to find 18 times Selena proved she can work a swimsuit like it's nobody's business.

"Chaos Is a Ladder" Is a Callback to Littlefinger's Previous Speech

Before Daenerys and Drogon take everyone by surprise and dragon-nuke the entire Lannister army during the last 10 minutes of Sunday's Game of Thrones episode, a way less heated (pun intended) exchange takes place during a scene with Bran and Littlefinger back at Winterfell. As Littlefinger makes an attempt to get on Bran's good side by consoling him with a small speech about all of the "chaos" he's seen, his spiel is cut short by Bran, who flatly responds with "chaos is a ladder." The line startles Littlefinger, as it's actually a nod to something he says during a speech in a previous season.

It comes from a short speech Littlefinger gives to Varys back in season three during his attempt to explain to the Master of Whispers that the realm is a lie. Varys responds to his quip, stating that once we abandon the lie, all we have left is a "gaping pit" of chaos. And that's when Littlefinger sprinkles down on him these words of wisdom:

"Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, never to try again. The fall breaks them. And some given a chance to climb, they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love, the illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is."

Littlefinger basically uses the speech to inform Varys that he is aware of the fact that Varys had used Ros to spy and passes off information to him. We find out at the end of the episode that Littlefinger passes Ros off to Joffrey, who ends up playing target practice with her.

Cut to the present, and it seems as though Bran is letting Littlefinger know that he can see right through him, despite the fact that Littlefinger has made it through multiple seasons pulling the wool over the eyes of nearly everyone in Westeros. And seeing how confused Littlefinger is when Bran uses that line on him, it's likely that he's not fully aware of Bran's new abilities. It's possible that Bran's newfound knowledge could spell some trouble for Littlefinger in the future.

6 Things Models Always Do to Achieve Flawless Skin

If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing a model up close and personal, take our word for it: nearly every single one has flawless skin that looks like it's been photoshopped. But when we've asked these catwalkers what products they use in order to achieve complexion perfection, the answers have been impossibly simplistic. No peels or retinoids here - we've found that most models stick to the holy trinity of rosewater, Bioderma, and coconut oil.

Turns out, we were asking the wrong question - it's not what they use on their skin but what they do that keeps their faces fabulous. And who better to get the scoop from than a model-approved facialist? We asked Ildi Pekar, the esthetician of Lindsay Ellingson, Miranda Kerr, and Irina Shayk (just to name a glamorous few) what her clients do on the regular for glowing skin.

After 20 Years, 1997's Top Fashion Trends Are Back in Style

The cycle of a trend is sort of a funny one: first something's really in, then it's really out, then it makes a triumphant return, cooler, modernized, and ready to be worn again. That's kind of what happened when it came to '90s staples. A few years ago, rocking a tracksuit out and about might have been perceived as outdated and lazy. Now? It's near impossible to find an It girl who doesn't have one in her closet.

We've recently discovered an easy hack for predicting the hottest styles, and it has to do with going back in time rather than looking forward. Read on for some 1997 styles you'll likely see everywhere in 2017. If you could just promise to stay away from that frosted white lip gloss, we'll be forever grateful.

16 Irresistible Empanada Recipes You Should Try Making at Home

We could write long, winded love letters to empanadas. We could wax poetic about their delicious dough, either fried or baked, and the delightfulness of taking that first bite only to find the yummiest filling - sometimes meaty, sometimes cheesy, sometimes neither. Whoa: This Harry Potter Theory Could've Changed the Series Completely

Get ready to breathe in and breathe out, Harry Potter fans - a recent theory is sparking up a conversation on the Internet on how the entire series could've changed. The single theory is based on one passage in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, involving the most underrated Hogwarts house - Slytherin.

The speculation, outlined by Tumblr user crazybutperfectlysane, discusses the idea of Cassius Warrington of Slytherin being chosen to compete in the Triwizard Tournament instead of Cedric Diggory. Both characters would still continue to help each other throughout the book up until the very end, when Voldermort still decides to kill Warrington. The user discusses the possibility that this might've united the Slytherins against Voldemort so they could have fought against him in the Battle of Hogwarts. Pretty crazy right? The entire post is below.

http://ift.tt/1HsD04B

However, the theory train didn't stop here. Another user, aplatonicjacuzzi, took it upon themselves to delve deeper into what Warrington's death would mean to Slytherin, Hogwarts, and Harry. This would include Slytherins realizing that pure bloods aren't safe from Voldemort, joining Dumbledore's Army, and eventually facing off against He Who Must Not Be Named at last. The rest of the imagined storyline is below.

http://ift.tt/1euLKun

These two posts are currently circling the Internet, even though both are two months old. It makes sense - it's serving up the right amount of fresh "what if?" options we always need every few months. We can't imagine how different the stories of all our favorite characters would be like or how Harry Potter could have had different kinds of support at Hogwarts. Guess that's all we can do now: wonder how and what could change the story we love and treasure so much.

This Japanese Manga Makeup Artist Paints Your Worst Nightmares on Her Face

Remember that creepy demon child who haunted your dreams after you watched The Ring or The Grudge? The one famous for crawling out of TV sets, the schoolgirl-ish student who was simultaneously the creepiest thing you've ever seen and also hair goals?

Like, EEEK! But also, what supplements is she taking? That hair is thick as hell, and we're into it.

Anyway, the nightmare woman in question is Yurei, and according to Japanese folklore, she's an undead spirit who haunts Earth and wreaks havoc on manga characters and our peace of mind. And a supertalented makeup artist named Mamakiteru has begun painting these scenes on her face, because who needs sleep anyway?

Luckily for Mamakiteru (and unluckily for the faint of heart), she's a pretty good actress, too. Not only do we get her spine-tingling makeup looks, but we also see her embody these ghoulish ghosts in terrifying fashion.

Hardcore horror fans, consider your Halloween sorted. Read on for our favorite looks, but be sure to grab a friend for moral support first.

From a Size 22 to a Size 12: This Woman Changed Her Habits and Her Life

Meet Brooke, an empowered, strong, and inspiring woman from San Francisco, who is taking her health into her own hands and turning her entire life around with her conscious choices and habits. So far, Brooke has lost over 100 pounds.

Multiple factors have contributed to Brooke's awe-inspiring success - she does the Kayla Itsines BBG workouts and Pilates, goes hiking, and preps her meal. But what she most wanted to share about her journey - in which she went from a size 22 to a size 12 - is that "changing behavior through healthy habits and real food are imperative for sustainable weight loss."

A Lifelong Journey: From Obese to Healthy

Her journey started at an early age. When she lost her grandmother to cancer, she turned to food as a source of comfort . . . at the age of five. "One of my earliest memories is hiding under a table and eating at my grandmother's wake," said Brooke. "I don't ever remember a time in my life when I wasn't losing weight, gaining weight, or desperately trying to maintain my weight."

The lifelong battle had begun. She turned to food, then turned to diets. "I have done every diet out there, probably twice, each with varying degrees of success," Brooke told us. Each time she'd stop the diet, she'd gain even more weight back.

Hitting a Low Point

She started trying more extreme methods, like fasting, juice cleanses, and purging - and her struggle only worsened as she battled bulimia and food addiction. "Those periods of control would inevitably be followed by periods of being out of control. I was trapped in the cycle of restricting and binge-eating."

It wasn't until she hit a breaking point that she realized she needed to change something fundamentally. At nearly 300 pounds, Brooke said, "I realized I was slowly killing myself. . . . I finally took a step back and realized how insane my behavior was." At that point, she turned to others for support and realized she wasn't the only one going through this struggle.

"I carried around a tremendous amount of shame about my weight," said Brooke. "It was liberating to let go of that and realize that I wasn't alone."

Alone she is not. Through this awakening and "peeling back the layers of shame," as she puts it, Brooke discovered the thriving BBG community on Instagram. Scrolling through hashtags like #BBG and #KaylasArmy, she wondered "who is this Kayla person and why does she have an army?"

Brooke's use of social media as a support system ended up being a pivotal move in her journey and opened her up to a community that would change her life. After losing some significant weight, Brooke started through the BBG programs with millions of women around the world and turned to the community for strength. "It's empowering to be vulnerable about our flaws, share our goals, and cheer each other on."

A Fitness Journey Begins

Brooke weighed nearly 300 pounds just four years ago. She had debilitating plantar fasciitis and said she could hardly walk a few blocks. Her first goal? Get a FitBit and go for 10,000 steps per day. "It was a way to start moving," she said.

This positive step (10,000 steps, actually) snowballed into greater choices. "It was more about becoming active rather than calories burned." And her consistency has been key. She committed to this goal every day for four years, and her four-year average is now 11,000!

When Brooke wanted to push herself further, she got into hiking. "I really started noticing the mental benefits of exercise and fell in love," said Brooke.

Her new love for movement was taken to another level with the BBG program, which has only intensified her overall love for fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Today, Brooke combines hiking, BBG, and Pilates.

Lifestyle Changes

In the past four years, Brooke has made huge fundamental behavioral changes. She knows from research that permanent lifestyle changes - not diets - are what works for sustainable weight loss and has since learned that extreme physical exertion and starvation aren't going to work.

Brooke's approach to food has completely 180-ed. Her golden formula? Mindful eating, meal prep, and greens at every meal.

"Being obese, the priority was changing my eating habits and beliefs about food," she said. "For so long I viewed food as a moral issue, like certain foods were 'good' or 'bad' and if I ate them I was 'good' or 'bad.' . . . But that's warped" (seriously). "Food is food and it can be used for fuel or pleasure, but it doesn't define my character."

This honesty helped her focus on the bigger picture and identify which foods triggered overeating - this led to mindful eating. She cut out the trigger foods, "not because they made me fat or I wanted to lose weight, but because I wanted to feel good."

And that's what the big picture is about: feeling your best and living your best life.

Brooke also shared some relatable advice: don't try to cook supercomplicated recipes based on a restrictive diet - you might crash and burn (like she did) and end up at a drive-through because you're so frustrated (and hungry)! Instead, turn to meal prep.

"Preparing meals at home is one of the most effective ways to manage weight, but it has to be easy and enjoyable or it won't happen consistently."

She also loves adding greens to every meal, because "it's universal and can be applied to any diet."

Looking Ahead

Brooke tells us that it's much easier to create a new positive habit than to break a negative habit. One positive choice (like adding in vegetables) can have a snowball or ripple effect, leading to healthier, better choices in other areas. It's helping her stay on a healthy track and meet new goals.

What are those goals? What does a goal look like for someone who has already lost so much weight? "More love and acceptance of my body." Her journey will never end, and she challenges herself to be a little bit better every single day.

Brooke's advice for someone just beginning their weight loss:

"Just start. Then don't stop. Everything else is just details. It's a lifelong journey and it won't be linear, but it will be worth it. Get brutally honest with yourself, and if you can, with another person. Question the excuses that are holding you back, and never, ever give up."

She noted that if you too are "in the thick of it," she would love to hear from you. You can reach out on her blog, or send her a comment on Instagram.

Trump and Obama Couldn't Be More Different - Except For This 1 Trait They Share

This article was originally published on The Conversation. Read the original article.

Six months have passed since Donald Trump entered the Oval Office.

His administration remains deeply understaffed. His legislative agenda is stymied. He has been active in issuing executive orders, but many are toothless, others are only in the early stages of undoing Obama policies and some are tied up in the courts. So far, Trump's leadership has mostly been defined by his rhetoric.

And his rhetoric, the conventional wisdom holds, could not be more different from his predecessor's.

Barack Obama was, as president, eloquent. His language was sophisticated. He spoke in measured tones and advanced informed, reasoned dialogue.

Donald Trump is inarticulate and brusque. His language is simplistic. He dishes out invective. He shows so little regard for the facts that some say he's the exemplar of a "bullshit artist." And he promotes a dialogue of the deaf.

The differences between Trump's and Obama's rhetorical styles seem stark. Yet, when we set aside the presidents' speaking styles and looked more carefully at the specific words Trump employed in his first months in office, we were surprised to discover that, in certain ways, these two presidents are remarkably like each other and unlike their predecessors. Here's what we found – and why Obama and Trump have more in common than you would think.

How we did our research

Our analysis is based on Trump's more substantial speeches – which we somewhat arbitrarily define as those longer than 500 words – which were directed primarily at domestic audiences. We scraped from the website of the American Presidency Project all of Trump's campaign speeches and presidential addresses through July 1 that met these criteria. We ended up with 74 campaign speeches, representing more than 230,000 words, and 56 presidential addresses, which included more than 122,000 words. We compared these bodies of speech to each other and to a separate database of postwar presidential speech that one of us had collected, using these same criteria, for a recently published book.

We ran these speeches through a specialized computerized content analysis program called Diction. Diction contains 33 separate dictionaries tailored to political speech. It searches texts for the words contained in the designated dictionaries and then calculates the number of words from each dictionary that would be present in a typical 500-word sample.

Obama and Trump vs. everyone else

On two key dimensions, Obama and Trump look similar – and stand in marked contrast to all other presidents.

First, their rhetoric is much more self-referential, meaning it uses more first-person pronouns. Obama's rhetoric is 69 percent more self-referential than the presidential average, and Trump exceeds Obama by another 20 percent.

Trump employs almost 50 percent more first-person pronouns than the second most heavily self-referential president after Obama, Gerald Ford. Trump's rhetoric is twice as self-referential as the postwar presidential average.

Second, both Trump and Obama rank very high on measures of "tenacity." This dictionary includes a series of words such as "must" and "need" that call for action and that "connote confidence and totality." Obama's rhetoric is around 45 percent more tenacious than the presidential average. Trump's rhetoric is a bit more tenacious than even Obama's. They are the only two presidents who substantially exceed the average.

Obama and Trump's rhetoric suggests that the prime mover of government is not separation of powers, political parties or the bureaucracy – but the will of the president. Its self-referentialism projects an image of strong leadership and of the president as the central pivot of action. Its tenacity expresses confidence that the president will triumph over the many obstacles in his way.

For all their differences, both Obama and Trump consistently presented themselves as the solution to the nation's problems. Accepting the nomination at the Republican National Convention, Trump assured Americans, "Nobody knows the system better than me, which is why I alone can fix it." He regularly cited his own biography as the reason that Americans should "trust" him. The irony is that the predecessor who, on this dimension, most resembles Trump is the very one whom Trump cast as an utter failure and weak leader and as his chief foil. Obama too regularly invoked his unique personal story as the reason that Americans should place their faith in him. Minus Trump's boastfulness, Obama too portrayed himself as the key agent of national transformation: "I'm the one who brings change. It is my vision. It is my agenda," he told The Washington Post in January 2009. He saw other government officials as just "good mechanics."

Yearning for a strong leader

The computerized content analysis of presidential rhetoric sets out a pattern, it does not explain it. However, we believe it likely that Obama and Trump adopted the same rhetorical tack for the same reason: Audiences across the political spectrum have craved a strong leader who will overcome Washington's paralysis and address the nation's challenges.

Especially since 9/11, American politics has grown more partisan and polarized, even as Americans' values have converged. That partisan divide has produced gridlock in the halls of power, and Congress has become a site of minority party obstruction. As a result, Americans have become frustrated with Congress, and their trust in government has plummeted. They have increasingly looked to the president to seize the initiative, conquer Washington's dysfunction and persuade Congress to act.

In 2007, "honesty" mattered most to Americans in selecting the nation's next president, with "leadership/strength" a distant second. In 2012, American voters said that "shares my values" was their top consideration in electing a president. By 2016, having a president who was a "strong leader" had easily taken the top spot, across voters of all parties, and was twice as important to them as it had been four years before.

Obama and Trump's self-referential and tenacious rhetoric – one might even call it authoritarian – seems designed to satisfy that demand for strong leadership centered in the presidency. It is not accidental that their rhetoric, as the linked charts show, also reflects a continued, long-term decline in "cooperative" and "accomplishment" language, as collaboration across party lines has been rare and as there have been few achievements. Ironically, "satisfaction" rhetoric has experienced a corresponding rise – perhaps because there has been less to celebrate and therefore more reason for presidents to proclaim that all is well.

Of course, some of this may be Donald Trump's inimitable rhetorical style. The figures above reveal that Trump the candidate was somewhat less self-referential and less tenacious than Trump the president has been. Perhaps he was simply restraining himself during the campaign. Once ensconced in the White House, he could become more himself. Trump the president may be Trump unleashed.

But the data suggest that Trump is also a manifestation – albeit an extreme manifestation – of our political age. Obama's self-centered, self-confident but soaring speeches gave way to his successor's self-centered, overconfident and vain tweets. Karl Marx knew what he was talking about: History repeats itself, the first time as tragedy, the second time as farce.

Nevertheless, we'd better get used to authoritarian rhetoric. It appears to be here to stay.

On Being Called "Brown Sugar" and "Oprah" in Morocco

It's a truth universally acknowledged that when you complain to an ignorant man about being catcalled, they'll say you should take it as a compliment. And when you further explain that being catcalled abroad is even worse, they'll mansplain to you that it's just the way the culture is and you should just suck it up and expect it if you're going to travel.

I don't recall being whistled at or spoken to like a sexual object much in my youth. I wasn't exactly the ideal standard of beauty in my small town, so it wasn't until I moved away to bigger cities that I realized that this unfortunate act of catcalling was something that could happen to me. And sadly, as I've gotten older and lived in cities such as Los Angeles, London, and New York, it's only gotten worse. I'll never enjoy being on the receiving end of it and certainly do not consider it flattering.

My adventurous nature took me on a trip to Morocco after finding extremely inexpensive flights. It was a country I had heard so much about and just had to figure out if all the hype was justified. Thankfully, I was overjoyed to find out that it exceeded my expectations. Morocco is an intense blend of old and new. The vibrant colors, smells of spices, and old ruins were fulfilling my Indiana Jones fantasies.

In my research, before I arrived, it was made clear that the men of Morocco tended more toward the aggressive side when it came to interactions with women. I had faced many sexual remarks toward me in my travels to other locations but didn't want to go in with a bad attitude about this and have it ruin the trip. From the moment I landed in the North African country, a barrage of physical remarks rained down upon me. My inner angry feminist was enraged.

It's a complicated feeling to want to change the world and how women are treated, but then to try and respect the culture of a country and not go in with a stubborn mind on how things are done. I wanted so badly to stand up for myself, but I also didn't want to cause a scene. I just let it be because I wanted to enjoy my time there, even if it meant feeling tremendously uncomfortable.

I do have to give it to Moroccan catcallers, though, for their creativity. When I'm walking around New York City, I just get a honk and suggestive look from a car as it passes by, or told that I should be smiling by a stranger who thinks he should get to dictate what my face looks like for him. Or I might be trying to innocently enjoy a museum when a security guard comes up to me and whispers right up in my ear in a creepy voice that he thinks I'm pretty. At least in Morocco, I received the borderline sexual harassment compliments with a bit of flair.

Morocco is insanely gorgeous and I don't want to miss out on seeing more of it just because some random guy called me Brown Sugar.

As a curvy black woman, some of my favorite names I've been called in Morocco are Beyoncé, Brown Sugar, Oprah, Bob Marley, and Whoopi Goldberg. I guess in a way I certainly do feel flattered. Beyoncé, Oprah, and Whoopi's careers are literally my life goals, so being compared to them could be considered a bit nice. Brown Sugar feels a little obvious, but at least it's sweet. And traveling with long, thick braids, I guess I was just asking for the Bob Marley comparisons.

I realize that a lot of it has to do with being a marketing tactic to make people pay attention to them and possibly come over to buy their products. The culture is that of hustling as hard as possible to make enough money to support themselves or their families, so I understand that it's all about how to gain new customers. And I'm sure I didn't notice if they were also saying things to men as well since I was in my own head a lot with each new name they called me.

Despite being treated this way, I went back to Morocco a year later and still have plans to go again in the near future. The thing is, it definitely may suck for a woman to have to endure these sexist moments while seeing the world, but the fact of the matter is that Morocco is insanely gorgeous and I don't want to miss out on seeing more of it just because some random guy called me Brown Sugar.

Morocco is still one of my favorite countries I've been to, and the first location I mention when people ask me for suggestions of places to go. The culture may not be the most attractive thing for a Westernized feminist to have to digest, but it's good to get outside of your comfort zone and face those that haven't been brought fully up to speed on how many women don't like to be spoken to. My inner Oprah gives me the serenity to face anything, including being called Oprah by someone who needs to back away five steps and not touch me, please.

Rachel and Ross may seem destined to be together on Friends, but is Rachel's lobster actually Joey? We're sharing some key excerpts here, but you can check out the entire thread starting with her first tweet.

Everything You Need to Know About Queen Letizia of Spain's Incredible Wedding Gown

Queen Letizia of Spain walked down the aisle of the Cathedral Santa María la Real de la Almudena in Madrid to marry King Felipe VI 13 years ago, and we still can't get her dress out of our heads. The long-sleeved gown was so intricate; we're probably still trying to process every detail.

The designer behind the queen's impressive dress was couturier Manuel Pertegaz, who embroidered the structured open collar, cuffs, and hem of Letizia's ivory dress with real gold and a floral pattern. But the real gold wasn't even the best part - file that under things we never thought we would write - it was all about the 14-foot train (which, for the record, also featured gold) and the lace veil laid over her updo, delicate diamond tiara, and dress. The stylish royal, who constantly shocks us with her fashion choices, paired the unbelievable and certainly princess-worthy dress with delicate diamond drop earrings and pointy heels. You'll Never Sleep Again After Seeing This Incredibly Creepy Game of Thrones Detail

Buckle up, you guys, because I'm about to dive into what might be Game of Thrones season seven's craziest theory so far (other than ice dragons, obviously . . . and also Bran being the Night King . . . maybe it's not so crazy after all?!). In "The Spoils of War," episode four of the seventh season, the sparring session between Arya (Maisie Williams) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) at Winterfell ends up being one of the most touching scenes of the episode. Not only is there a heartbreaking connection to Arya's father, Ned Stark, but it turns out there might be a link to Arya's mother, Catelyn Stark, as well.

One fan, Redditor GrennsGal, thinks the legit ghost of Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley) can be seen casually strolling around Winterfell in the background of this scene. Right after Arya brings up the vow Brienne made to Catelyn ("You swore to serve both my mother's daughters"), GrennsGal noticed "a woman in a long green dress w/ long auburn wavy hair with her head down walking past the background gate, resembling Cat." The woman appears right as Arya says the word "mother."

Not gonna lie, that GIF sends more than a few chills down my spine. But is it really Catelyn? Thanks to Game of Thrones' penchant for dark colors, I can barely make out any distinguishing features on that woman. Let's zoom in, shall we?

ALL RIGHT, all right . . . I can kind of see it! Now, this is likely just a coincidence, something GrennsGal also noted in their post, but the resemblance (the long red hair and dress) is interesting, to say the least. Remember that this is a show that once featured an entire storyline about a sorceress giving birth to a demon baby made of black smog, so a ghost would actually be far, far down on the list of bizarre occurrences in Westeros.

It's also worth pointing out that the idea that Catelyn is using the afterlife to keep tabs on her daughters would be a not-so-subtle reference to the character's arc in George R.R. Martin's novels. In the books, Catelyn is revived after the Red Wedding as Lady Stoneheart (a zombie, basically), who takes over Beric Dondarrion's Brotherhood Without Banners and seeks revenge for what the Freys did to her family. Since Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have already said that they won't be adapting that aspect of the books for the show, and Arya has been taking over Lady Stoneheart's revenge plot as it is anyway, a cameo from Catelyn's literal ghost (wow) might be as close as we get.

Watch the whole scene below to decide for yourself ("Catelyn" first appears at the 0:53 mark, and then again at 2:00).

Zara Tindall Is the 1 Royal With a Wardrobe Bolder Than Kate Middleton's

Zara Tindall (formerly Zara Phillips) is a British equestrian, so you might have spotted her in uniform at various events. But when she's not competing, the 36-year-old, who's the daughter of Princess Anne and granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, is dazzling alongside the royal family. While she doesn't have an official title, Zara hangs with Kate Middleton, attending the same weddings as the duchess along with the Royal Ascot. Her 2011 nuptials to rugby player Mike Tindall were highly publicized (she wore a considerably classic Stewart Parvin gown).

While Zara's an athlete through and through, you'll find that when she practices dressing for the occasion, her eye for style is pertinent. Zara can easily pull off printed coats and fabulous sundresses with avant-garde fascinators some might consider wacky. But that's just Zara's notable appeal when it comes to fashion - there is no tricky trend she won't embrace. Team that up with a collection of luxe designer bags and shoes and the result is a signature look that turns heads. Read on to see what we mean.

Why Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Is Better With The Nightmare Before Christmas Theme

The countdown to Halloween at Disneyland has officially begun (35 days, if you're wondering), and one of the best parts about the park's holiday kickoff on Sept. 15 is the major transformation of the Haunted Mansion ride into its Nightmare Before Christmas theme. This may be a controversial opinion, but, personally, I love how festive and fun the Haunted Mansion becomes for the Halloween and holiday season, much more than when it's just a standard spooky ride.

It's vibrantly and creatively decorated (seriously, Disney doesn't miss a single detail), puts you in a happy Halloween and holiday mood, and has you humming the catchy songs from The Nightmare Before Christmas for the rest of the day. How could you choose the classic over that? Once you've been on Haunted Mansion holiday, the original ride just feels . . . boring. To prove my point, here are the best things about the themed version!

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady's Apartment Might Be Even More Beautiful Than They Are

Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady seem to be over their $13.4 million condo in New York's Flatiron district. A year after they purchased it in 2013, they started renting it for a cool $40,000 a month. Page Six reported that the supermodel and quarterback upgraded to a $20 million apartment on a desirable high floor in 70 Vestry, a new luxury building in Tribeca. The A-listers' new French-limestone-covered building is understatedly elegant and boasts breathtaking views of the Hudson River. Building amenities are fitting of a five-star hotel and include an ultraprivate entrance to keep the prying eyes of the paparazzi at bay, extensive athletic facilities so Tom can stay in NFL shape (think an 82-foot-long indoor lap pool, squash court, and yoga studio, just to name a few), a posh lounge, a cafe, and a children's playroom. Take a look at the family's Tribeca digs in the pictures ahead.

Why You Need to Start Watching Jessica Biel's The Sinner Immediately

The Sinner is the newest TV murder mystery on the block. Much like Big Little Lies, this year's other critically acclaimed mini series, The Sinner is a limited series on USA and will tell a gripping tale over the course of just eight episodes. Unlike its HBO sister, though, The Sinner gives us much more information right out of the gate. In the first half of the first episode, we see everything: the crime, the blood, the victim, and the perpetrator. But as the show itself says, this story isn't about who the killer is or who the unlucky victim is - it's all about the why. Curious to see whether The Sinner is the new Summer show you need to get your eyeballs on? We're giving you a sense of what it's about so you can decide for yourself.

The Premise

The story starts with Cora (Jessica Biel), a young mom who lives a quiet, small-town life with her husband, Mason (Christopher Abbott), and her son, Laine. Cora appears to be your average adult: a little overrun, a little exhausted, but making it work and doing her best to keep it together. She also seems like she needs some breathing room. It's clear, based on a couple small hints before the murder, that she's kind of at the end of her rope. Then, one day at the beach, she completely snaps.

The Crime

One sunny Summer day, Cora is at a local lake with her whole family. She goes out for a long, far-off swim by herself. When she gets back to her spot on the shore, she seems especially fixated on a young couple. They're playing their music too loud, and they're all over each other. Cora watches them intently as she skins a piece of fruit. Suddenly, she's running toward them, screaming for the guy to get off his girlfriend. She stabs him almost a dozen times with her fruit knife before her husband pulls her off him and tackles her to the ground. Then, the guy Cora stabbed completely bleeds out.

As I mentioned above, there is a solid list of clear facts about what happens. Cora kills this seemingly innocent man for what appears to be no reason. Plenty of witnesses see her do it. Everyone at the police station seems keen on closing the case, until Detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) steps in. He wants to prove Cora experienced some kind of psychotic episode that was triggered by something deep down inside her.

The Intriguing Hints

There are a few aspects of the story that have already drawn us further into the mystery. For one, the opening sequence shows a blond woman in silhouette, presumably in a hotel hallway or something along those lines. "Are you coming?" she asks. At other points in the episode, we see an intricate, unmistakable wallpaper pattern. Cora seems to see this pattern as well at multiple points. Whenever she's lost in thought or dreaming deeply, the pattern materializes.

We also get a few hints that Cora has endured some sort of emotional trauma, either recently or at some point deep in her past. I sensed it during Cora and Mason's sex scene, during which Cora appears kind of unwilling and hesitant. There's also the fact that she needs pills to help her sleep, and another subtle moment that happens when Mason finally visits her in prison. She alludes that she could never have had a normal life, but Mason gave her the best life he possibly could. It begs the question: what has Cora gone through?!

On top of all that, at one point, near the end of the episode, a friend of the victim suggests that maybe he and Cora knew each other. Up until this point, everyone thinks they're complete strangers. But this friend suggests that Frankie (the victim) recognizes her and surrenders to the murder. Now that is pretty crazy.

With just that one episode under our belts and only seven more coming up, it's clear that we've got an incredible mystery on our hands. Did Cora just need some personal space? Did she get triggered based on a past experience? Did she know Frankie and a secret dark side he might have been hiding? We'll have to wait to find out.

The Definitive Ranking of Your Favorite Fast-Food French Fries

Fast-food places can be completely polarizing. There were many times when I was a child where my brothers would demand one fast-food place for dinner but I would not settle for anything other than what I wanted. My poor, gracious, amazing dad would then have to go to three different places for food to appease us all. My strong opinions on fast food are still firmly in place, and when it comes to french fries, one of the greatest foods to exist in this world, I have a lot of opinions about them. While I don't think I would necessarily turn down fries from anywhere, I definitely have my favorites - and least favorites - that I ranked in the gallery ahead.

Jennifer Lopez Just Showed Off Her Most Casual Fall Look While Out in NYC

Jennifer Lopez knows how to add a touch of sexy to every outfit, even her most casual ones. The 48-year-old was spotted out in New York City (without boyfriend Alex Rodriguez) looking superchill with no makeup on and her hair in a bun. But the best part of her weekend-ready look is her Summer-to-Fall outfit, made of versatile items we all need to have in our closets.

The star wore a striped long-sleeved cotton minidress, a ripped cardigan, white Gucci sneakers, and a classic crème Hermès Birkin bag, finishing it all off with a favorite pair of Quay sunglasses. Jennifer might be pretty covered up, but the touches of sexy come thanks to the peek-a-boo holes on her cardigan and the length of her dress, which perfectly shows off her toned legs. While we want to have every single piece of this outfit, we will settle for similar options to let our inner J Lo fly.

9 Outfits That Never Go Out of Style

With every runway and every new trend, I'm less enthused with what's in my own closet. It's more than an occupational hazard, and a common sentiment many women share: how to make our wardrobes functional and stylish each day so that we're never the victims of "I have nothing to wear" syndrome again.

The answer I'm finding isn't always in stocking MY closet with new stuff but in remembering the value of great essentials - and how to work them time and time again. So I'm going back to basics with nine timeless outfits you can rework and rewear any way you like. It starts here with a few easy formulas; just add and subtract to make them your own.

The beginning of the millennium was a big year for Latinx - we were in the height of the Latin explosion, after all. That is not only a moment that we will never forget, but one that changed history - did you know it's the reason Google Images exists today?

But J Lo wasn't alone in the spotlight. There were so many other stars carving out their place in Hollywood. Do you remember what they all looked like back then, 17 years ago? Well, we are about to show you. Prepare to be shocked (particularly by Enrique Iglesias's baby face)!

If Mary-Kate Olsen Makes These Summer Shoes Cool Again, She'll Be Everyone's Hero

Mary-Kate Olsen stepped out in New York wearing her signature look: oversize neutral separates, a leather hobo bag, and simple sunglasses. We immediately looked down to her pooling trousers, equipped with an ankle flap at the back. Rather than hiding her footwear, the roomy pants brought attention to Mary-Kate's familiar shoe silhouette. She was wearing The Row's Egon sandal, a design with a flat sole and elastic straps that wrap around the foot just like a classic Teva would.

If Mary-Kate and Ashley's sleek, city-chic version of the comfortable shoe brings it back in style, we certainly won't be complaining. In fact, there are quite a few versions on the market that are reminiscent of a Teva, all of which we can get behind for the season ahead. Scroll for another glimpse at Mary-Kate's effortless outfit, then shop her exact sandals along with similar versions we love. (Teva included.)
