A 1-Year-Old Boy Towers Over the US-Mexico Border in This Moving Art Installation

Just as the Trump administration decided to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, a massive art installation appeared on the border in Tecate, Mexico. The 70-foot artwork depicts a 1-year-old boy peering over the edge at the other side.

JR, a French photographer and artist, created the installation based on a picture he took of Enrique Achondo, a boy who lives in Tecate with his family. In an interview with The New York Times, JR noted that the piece is not specifically targeted at Donald Trump; instead, it's a reflection on border walls and those who live alongside them. "Some people dream about fantasy worlds, I dream about walls," he said.

The artist did a lot of reflecting on how children perceive walls in relation to his newest piece. "I wonder, is this kid worrying about what will happen? What does he think?" JR said. "At one year old, you don't see the frontier or which side is better." The installation will be on display at the border for a month.

Why You Shouldn't Trust Ivy on American Horror Story: Cult

What do you know, we only lasted through one episode of American Horror Story: Cult before the internet began exploding with crazy theories. In the wake of the premiere, we're already asking ourselves if the clowns are even real, what the deal is with the very Manson-adjacent Winter, and what's behind that mysterious door in Kai's apartment. If you ask me, though, I don't even think you have to reach that far to find evil. After all, the the scary new season is all about paranoia, disillusion, and mistrust. That's why I'm taking aim at the Mayfair-Richards household.

I think Ivy is already a member of Kai's cult, possibly since before the election. The first tip-off is that she seems to be diminishing Ally's fears and experiences from the very start. She's quick to say Ally is imagining things. And when they're alone in their empty restaurant, it's almost easy to see how she may have played a part in pulling it off. She's also quick to tell Ally that she doesn't know how much longer she can deal with all of her nonsense. After, what, like one month? Some marriage, am I right?

One other perplexing plot point is that the cult seems to know about Ally's deep fears. But if they had someone on the inside, someone close to her, it would be easy to know how to push her buttons. It's possible Ivy is behind the whole situation with clowns terrifying Ally. I mean, one of the clowns even has tiny holes all over it! How could they know about Ally's trypophobia unless they were clued in?

Isn't it strange that Ivy is never around when Ally is experiencing all this trauma? Isn't it bizarre that one of the cult members, Winter, just so happens to snag the nanny gig that Ally posts a listing for online? Perhaps the most logical conclusion is that none of it is by accident. It's all been orchestrated from the inside.

Then we have the final nail in the coffin: the season preview. Not only do we see Ivy slapping her wife across the face and driving a wedge even further into their marriage, but there's one especially bloody scene we only see for a split second. Ivy and Winter are presumably in The Butchery on Main together (based on the hanging meat carcasses behind them). They're cutting up something using a piece of machinery. Ivy looks absolutely invigorated by whatever she's doing, while Winter looks on with a smug grin.

Considering this would be a pretty unsanitary way to prepare edible meat, we can safely assume this isn't step one in an elaborate steak dinner. Given the amount of blood and the looks on the characters' faces, this is the scene after a pretty satisfying murder. Perhaps The Butchery is just the best way to get rid of the body. And if Winter and Ivy are hanging out beyond the confines of Winter's nanny gig, and if they're getting into some dark sh*t together, you can see how Ivy isn't the person we think she is at all.

Stay on guard, AHS fans. This lesbian liberal is up to no good.

What No One Tells You About the KonMari Method

I'm an evangelist for Marie Kondo, the Japanese organizational guru whose unique tidying techniques have become a worldwide sensation. I've read both of her books and completed the full decluttering/reorganizing program in six months. In the last year, it has been my favorite thing to bring up to my friends, co-workers, heck, even distant cousins. I am obsessed, because it really has transformed my living space and shattered many of my bad habits related to tidying. Some people aren't convinced and steadfastly refuse to KonMari their home. Me, on the other hand, I'm a fervent believer, because I learned so much. Here are my greatest takeaways based on my experience.

Lesson 1: Getting rid of everything that doesn't "spark joy" is really liberating.

I know this sounds extreme, and I know some people claim there is room for regret with all the purging that happens, but not me. It was a chance to get rid of that set of lamps I always loathed, the antler candelabras and other ridiculous items I never used and somehow casually inherited, and the piles of unread books that bubbled up anxiety and regret every time I looked at them. Getting rid of all the extra junk felt so empowering and liberating, and it paved the way to celebrating and cherishing the few items I really love.

Lesson 2: Scaling back on my possessions made it easy to move.

I completed the KonMari Method while I was living in a dark studio apartment with views of white concrete walls. I had been there five years and felt the itch to move, but I didn't know how I was going to do it in crazy-expensive San Francisco. That same week, I ran into my landlord. She was trying to fill an empty unit, and on a whim, I asked to see it. One week later, I signed the lease and moved in to a beautiful, spacious, sunny apartment overlooking a courtyard and five-story-tall avocado tree. This was a month ago. Never in my wildest imagination could I have done such a thing had I not purged myself of all the extra stuff I had accumulated in my 10 years of adult living.

Lesson 3: I became confident about my sense of design (for the first time!).

My mom is an interior designer (her San Francisco apartment was even featured on POPSUGAR!). She's a pro at organizing spaces, filling them with bold colors, fabulous pieces of furniture, and thought-provoking accessories. Before Kondo, I felt completely reliant on my mom for anything and everything related to interior design and would avoid moving or getting rid of anything, even silly junk. But afterward, I realize I actually have a distinct design style, separate from my mom's. I love sparkly metallics against whites and light browns. I like my cookbooks to be color-coded like a rainbow. I carefully potted my own succulent arrangements to perch on sunny spots around the house. I prefer my kitchen and bathroom to be stark clean and shine brilliantly white.

Lesson 4: I feel relaxed and joyful in my home.

In her first title, The Life‑Changing Magic of Tidying Up, Kondo says, "When you put your house in order, you put your affairs and your past in order, too." It's true. The hardest part of the KonMari Method is purging keepsakes that hold a lot of emotional significance like old love letters and, for me, hundreds of pages of notes from my favorite professor's classes in college and all my ballet clothes, including my first set of point shoes. It's painful to say goodbye to these things, yes, but something sort of woo-woo happens when they become out of sight. Before, my house was a dark, heavy place filled to the brim with stuff from my past. After, it became a light, bright place with no history and no regrets. As Kondo puts it, it's a space that's "A detachment from the past. Not fearing the future." And now, every time I walk into my apartment, I'm filled with relaxation and joy. Imagine that!

The Definitive Ranking of the Top 10 Pizza Chains

OK, I feel like this could spark some debate here, because people are very passionate about their pizza. As a current New Yorker, I feel very passionately about eating pizza not from a chain restaurant, but as a native Midwesterner who doesn't come from Chicago, I ate a whole lot of Pizza Hut throughout the years. Taking into account the cost of a pizza and how it actually tastes, these are the 10 chain restaurants around the US that I believe rank the highest. Do you agree?

May We All One Day Be as Happy as Leo Blissfully Running to Catch a Cab in NYC

Leonardo DiCaprio is having what I like to call "the Summer of Me," which basically means he's putting himself first to indulge and enjoy the hell out of life. So far this Summer we've seen him invent a fun new way to carry a bag, creatively wrap a towel around his lovely body, vacation with BFF Kate Winslet, and vape in the sunshine, but his latest outing is honestly our favorite of them all. The actor was spotted having a boys' day out in New York City on Thursday with his friend Lukas Haas. Not only did the pair have an actual race to see who could catch a cab first, but Leo also had Lukas take photos of him outside a yogurt shop (maybe Leo has a secret street style Instagram account we don't know about?). These pictures will make you way too happy, so do yourself a favor and look at them multiple times.

29 Photos That Prove Hunter McGrady Is One Bodacious Lady

Hunter McGrady was named the "curviest" model to grace the pages of Sports Illustrated's annual Swimsuit Issue when she appeared in nothing but body paint for her photo shoot in the 2017 installment. It's a huge feat for the 23-year-old, who spent much of her teenage years in the gym and starving herself, trying to whittle away her 5-foot, 11-inch frame for modeling jobs. Since then, Hunter has made a name for herself in the world of curve modeling, becoming a part of Wilhelmina International's Curve division and appearing in campaigns for Lane Bryant, though the industry comes with its fair share of misconceptions.

"I think people think that we can get away with looking however we want," Hunter told POPSUGAR. "They're like, 'Whatever, she's a curve model. She doesn't have to work out; she doesn't have to eat well.' Which isn't true. I have a personal trainer, I eat clean. But on the other spectrum, there is a pressure to have the Coke bottle body, to be really tight. Someone's always going to want you to be thicker." In our humble opinion, Hunter's "thickness" is just perfect. In celebration of her bodacious body and killer curves, we've rounded up her sexiest pictures.

As a lover of all things chocolate, I've slowly eaten my way through pretty much everything Whole Foods has to offer, and these are the 12 candies you should be grabbing from the candy aisle on your next trip to the store. Trust me.

Ah! Cheesecake Kit Kats Are a Very Real Thing - but Only in the UK

This Guy Invented Kids' Clothes That Grow 7 Whole Sizes - but Would You Buy Them?

When Ryan Mario Yasin's sister had a baby, he sent the infant some clothes as a gift. By the time the garments got to him, the baby had already outgrown them. It was then that Ryan - an aeronautical engineer specializing in deployable structures - had a light-bulb moment.

"They grow so quickly," he said in a BBC News interview. "I thought that their clothes should adapt to that growth."

He created the company Petit Pli, which has crafted kids' clothes with a unique pleated structure that allows them to stretch and retract in size exponentially - so much so that they fit children from 6 months to 3 years of age. That's a range of seven whole sizes.

The synthetic fabric is machine-washable, waterproof, and windproof, and although it's winning awards for its ability to reduce waste and save families hundreds of dollars per child, the look has definitely raised eyebrows. Ryan admits that "some of the market might not be ready" for the futuristic style, but he maintains these are still final-stage prototypes. He's now working with pattern and textile designers to start focusing on aesthetics.

"We're going to focus on gender-neutral styles particularly so you can pass these clothes on between siblings who are of different genders," he said. "So that's another interesting, sustainable aspect of this."

It's an ingenious solution for kids, but Ryan doesn't plan to stop there. He's also looking at the adult market and maternitywear in particular for pregnant women who "obviously change sizes very quickly."

Why the F*ck Aren't You Watching The Bold Type Yet?

At first glance, Freeform's The Bold Type might come across as a series of cliches doomed for cancellation. The feel-good Summer dramedy produced by former Cosmopolitan editor in chief Joanna Coles follows 20-somethings Jane Sloan (Katie Stevens), Kat Edison (Aisha Dee), and Sutton Brady (Meghann Fahy) as they attempt to navigate their blossoming careers at Scarlet (a Cosmo-esque magazine) while also dealing with the pitfalls of dating in NYC. We've heard that song and dance before, right? Yes. But we've also never seen it done like this.

While The Bold Type does go down a path that's been well-trodden by other stilettoed feet, the show remains fresh, smart, and completely charming. With each episode, it admirably bucks the tired tropes we've seen in stories like this before with ease: the dragon-like HBIC, backstabbing female coworkers, worn-out love triangles. In their place is a relatable story about three women who are doing their damn best, despite making one monumental mistake after another. Season one, which just concluded with its Summer finale on Sept. 5, has its own fair share of mistakes, but it's Jane, Sutton, and Kat's "we're in this together" mentality that buoys some of the weaker plotlines. Actually, it's the friendship between them that made me fall so hard for The Bold Type in the first place.

"Do you really think realist Miranda would put up with self-obsessed Carrie for that long? And . . . who in their right mind could ever willingly keep a relationship with Hannah Horvath going?

There are few times in life as tumultuous as your early 20s; you're trying to find success in both your love life and your career as you inevitably make a few mind-numbingly bad decisions. It's an essential part of growing up, and it's a painful struggle we've seen portrayed in everything from Girls to Sex and the City. None of the female friendships in those shows, however, have ever struck me as particularly realistic. I loved, and still love, a lot of those characters, but I couldn't help wondering why any of those women were even friends with each other to begin with. Do you really think realist Miranda would put up with self-obsessed Carrie for that long? And while we're on the topic of narcissism, who in their right mind could ever willingly keep a relationship with Hannah Horvath going? Fortunately, this is not the case when it comes to The Bold Type's trio.

No matter how many ups and downs Jane (a writer), Kat (a social media editor), and Sutton (a fashion assistant) face, I never once find myself doubting how genuine the bond between them really is. Some of the dialogue on the show can get clunky while tackling each episode's Big Issue (which ranges from immigration reform to Donald Trump), but the conversations between the main characters are so spot-on, so familiar, that it truly feels as if I'm gossiping to my own friends on the phone about a bad Tinder date rather than watching fictional characters discuss their latest dating misstep.

A lot of the time, female-led TV shows are hailed as feminist achievements as long as they don't feature women who aren't actively ripping each other to shreds, even if they don't take the time to really flesh out the characters. And while, yes, Sutton, Kat, and Jane aren't stabbing each other in the back, they aren't sugarcoating anything either.

In the eighth episode, "The End of the Beginning," Kat finds out from the magazine's CEO that layoffs are imminent but is sworn to secrecy. She's forced to watch her two best friends lose their minds with worry over the rumors as she pretends to be just as in the dark as they are. When they find out she's been keeping the secret all along one night, though, a blow-out fight in their tiny apartment ensues.

That might have been the end of their friendship or kicked off a multiple-episode-long arc about the resulting feud in any other show, but the three BFFs make up the next morning like regular, IRL adults who share an authentic affection for each other. The moment, though not even a major plot point, struck me with its subtlety.

Like Jane the Virgin, Younger, and Insecure, The Bold Type is a fantastic step forward for female storytelling on television. It might not be a "prestige" series, but that doesn't make the work it's doing or the conversations it's starting any less important. For instance, in season one alone, Sutton finds the courage to ask for a raise, Kat learns to be unashamed of her sexuality, and Jane faces a major health issue head on.

"The Bold Type is a fantastic step forward for female storytelling on television."

The deft way the show tackles these themes has never been more evident than in the finale, "Carry the Weight." Jane decides to write her last story at Scarlet about Mia (Ana Kayne), a performance artist and rape survivor modeled after Columbia student Emma Sulkowicz.

Jane's boss and Scarlet's editor in chief, Jacqueline - the wonderful Melora Hardin, who flips the Miranda Priestly stereotype on its head with her compassionate take on the character - pushes Jane go deeper with the story, pressuring her to get it right. In the episode's emotional conclusion, we find out that Jacqueline is a rape survivor herself when she joins Jane, Kat, and Sutton at Mia's performance in Central Park and holds Mia's weights herself. It's not the first time I've cried while watching The Bold Type, and I hope it's not the last (please renew this beautiful show, Freeform!). In fact, I welled up again a few scenes later as Jacqueline recounts the night she was raped to Jane. The Bold Type has no shortage of soaring pop songs to help do the emotional lifting in some of the show's heavier scenes, but this moment is quiet in its power. Few shows have ever handled talking about an issue like this so deftly.

Given the current political climate, pop culture consumers have come to labeling progressive movies and TV shows as necessary "now, more than ever." The Bold Type, with all its fluff and deliciously dramatic romantic entanglements fitting in just fine alongside its meatier storylines, is just as worthy of that distinction. At the end of the pilot, Jacqueline delivers a powerful speech about how "Scarlet will always be that older sister, and we will always be there for the girls who need her." She goes on to tell Scarlet's employees to have adventures, to make mistakes, to have sex with the wrong people (and the right people), and to "unleash holy hell."

Those words, which are echoed by Sutton, Kat, and Jane in the finale, are the perfect summation of the show in general. At a time when so many young women (and young people in general) are scared, conflicted, and wondering what step to take next in life, The Bold Type is here to inspire them to be, well, bold.

The Heartbreaking Thing JAY-Z Said to His Mom When She Came Out to Him

JAY-Z is incredibly open and honest about his personal life on his latest album, 4:44, but one of his most heartfelt tracks has to be "Smile," in which he reveals that his mother, Gloria Carter, is a lesbian. While the song acts as her public coming out to the world, her revelation to her son was a bit more private. "Me and my son, we share a lot of information," she explained on the D'USSE Friday podcast. "I was sitting there and I was telling him one day, I just finally started telling him who I was. Besides your mother, this is the person that I am. This is the life that I live. My son started actually tearing 'cause he's like, 'That had to be a horrible life, Ma.' I was like, 'My life was never horrible. It was just different.' So that made him want to do a song about it."

Even though the track is easily one of the most powerful on the album, it almost didn't happen. "The first time I heard the song, I was like, 'Eh, I don't know, dude. I ain't feeling that,'" Gloria explained. "When it first happened, I was sharing myself [with JAY-Z], not to share myself with the world." But after a few conversations with her son, she gave him the OK and decided to appear on the song. "I was never ashamed of me," she said. "But in my family, it was something that was never discussed. I'm tired of all the mystery. I'm gonna give it to 'em . . . Now it's time for me to live my life and be happy, be free."

Garth Brooks Stopped His Concert to Celebrate a Fan and Her Cancer-Free Son

Garth Brooks Gives RMH Family His Guitar

Warning: This video will make you cry happy tears.

Yesterday, Mason's mom received the news she'd been waiting for: Mason is officially cancer-free!! She didn't think the day could get any better, but then this happened at the Garth Brooks concert at Scotiabank Saddledome!

A huge thank you to Karyn who surprised Gale with tickets after reading her family's story on Facebook last weekend (http://bit.ly/2vU9P6I).

A few hours before attending a Garth Brooks concert, Gale Granrude-Gariepy learned that her young son was officially cancer-free. Though Gale had won tickets through a charity organization, her son Mason was unable to attend because his immune system was still so weak. She decided to share the good news with everyone at the concert by taking a big poster that read, "Today my son is cancer-free." Then something amazing happened.

During the concert, the country artist stopped the show to ask Gale about her message. After she explained Mason's story, Garth said, "As hard as that child has fought, I know that you have fought 100 times harder." Motioning for a marker so that he could sign a guitar, Garth said, "I'll tell you what, I need you to take something to Mason for me." Everyone in the stadium cheered as Gale was overcome with emotion. Garth finally added, "May you never have to work with the freaking c-word again . . . You have all of my strength and all of my joy. Congrats!"

Following the touching moment, Gale expressed her gratitude in a Facebook post, which included a picture of Mason holding the signed guitar, which he has been very "protective" of. Gale added, "My heart was overflowing with happiness. It has been overwhelming the love and support that we have received from day one. Your kindness and the love I felt from the dome was the best way to end this chapter."

This Family's Brutally Honest Back-to-School Photo Is the Definition of a Kodak Moment

PsBattle: Back to school family picture from photoshopbattles

In the last week, scrolling through your Instagram page has yielded pretty much one thing: adorable back-to-school photos of kids big and small toting backpacks and holding "First Day of [Blank] Grade" signs. But one family put a hysterical spin on the sign craze by including every member of the squad in the shot - regardless of whether they were headed back to school or not.

The now-viral photo shows a father and his three kids each holding their own sign, and what's written on them will make you wonder why you didn't think of the idea yourself.

The two kids in the middle are sporting your typical signs that read "First Day of Fifth Grade" and "First Day of Second Grade," but if you look at the sign the dad's holding, you'll see it says "My 6,287th Day of Work." The youngest daughter, who isn't enrolled in school yet, also has a hilarious message scribbled on her paper: "If I don't hold a sign too, I'm going to scream."

Sounds about right.

We Need Someone to Turn Zayn's "Dusk Till Dawn" Video Into a Full-Length Movie ASAP

I'm not entirely sure what's happening in Zayn Malik's "Dusk Till Dawn" music video, but I do know that it has all the makings of an epic crime-romance-thriller: a mysterious briefcase, Jemima Kirke wearing a bad wig, Jemima Kirke wearing an amazing fur coat, a gruff cop, a very blond Zayn, and a pair of yin and yang tattoos that mean . . . something. The "It's You" singer teamed up with Sia for the track, and the results (like the music video) are stunning.

14 People Who Couldn't Handle Evan Peters in the AHS: Cult Premiere

American Horror Story: Cult came back into our lives on Tuesday night with a bang (or should I say a scream). Between reliving the horrors of election night and dealing with terrifying clowns left and right, season seven is already shaping up to be one of the strongest. Fan favorite Evan Peters has already proven himself to be one of the worst (but best) characters in the first episode. Fans of the show have seen him take on numerous psychotic and murderous characters, but his role as a dangerous and unstable Donald Trump supporter has people more upset and nervous than any other season. Don't worry, though, because his dedicated fans are still extremely attracted to him (it's just hard not to be). Check out social media's best reactions to Peters's triumphant return to AHS below.

It's OK to Want to Copy Jessica Alba's Maternity Style - Even If You're Not Pregnant

We were excited to hear that Jessica Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, are expecting their third child together - in part because we're happy for the couple, of course, but selfishly because of the amazing maternity style we knew she'd be bringing.

Jessica's proved us right! In just the few short weeks since the actress and entrepreneur announced her pregnancy, she has worn stylish looks we're dying to copy, even if we're not pregnant. She's rocking jean overalls that couldn't look more comfortable and flowy floral dresses that we could live in every weekend of the year. With a few months to go until her due date, we can't wait to see what else she has in her closet.

You've Been Making Your Bed All Wrong! Here's What You Should Be Doing

There's nothing better than getting into a freshly made bed at the end of a long day. Our beds are where we relax, wind down, and get a good night's sleep so we can be our best selves. While some of us are guilty of not making our beds everyday, it's a great habit to get into and soon becomes second-nature. And getting into productive habits like making your bed can actually make you more productive in other areas of your life. Plus, making your bed doesn't have to be difficult or time-consuming. So next time you get out of bed and feel the urge to throw back the covers and leave them in a messy heap, try some of these easy hacks for making your bed instead.

1. Hospital Corners

Also known as military corners, this is probably the best-known trick for making your bed - and for good reason. Hospital corners are a tried and tested way to get a tidy-looking bed every time. It involves tucking a fitted sheet under the bottom of the mattress in a way that will keep it secured and super tidy, kind of like wrapping a present. Check out this tutorial and try it for yourself.

2. Housekeeper Pillows

If you've ever worked in a hotel as a housekeeper, you'll probably know this trick. Housekeepers will "karate chop" the pillow lengthwise down the middle, then fold it in half at one end. Holding the two corners together, it's much easier to slide the pillowcase on. When you let go of the corners, just make some adjustments so they find the corners of the pillowcase. If you're still not sure how it's done, watch this video. It will save you struggling with your pillowcases ever again!

3. The Inside-Out Duvet Cover

Next to folding a fitted sheet properly, putting a duvet cover on your duvet is probably the most tedious part of making your bed. But not anymore! Try the inside-out duvet cover trick, which is bound to save you tons of time. First, flip your duvet cover inside out and grab the two top corners. Next, grab the two top corners of your duvet, and flip the duvet cover over top. See the video for a visual!

4. Don't Dry Your Sheets Completely

You've probably heard that you should iron your sheets after they've been washed and before making your bed. And while that's a great tip, most of us just don't have the time. To avoid ironing, try taking your sheets out of the dryer just before they're completely dry. This way, you'll be able to stretch and flatten them out in the process of making your bed to avoid any wrinkles. It's best to do this in the mornings so your bed is dry by the time you go to sleep.

5. Finish With Decorative Pillows

Decorating your newly made bed with accent pillows is a fine art. It's easy to go overboard, but you want to have enough pillows to make your bed look and feel luxurious. For a really put-together look, experts recommend starting off with a pair of pillow shams before putting your actual sleeping pillows in front. From there, you can layer with more decorative pillows to create depth. Just remember to have an odd number of pillows, as this is more interesting to the eye.

These Photos Prove Nobody Should Ever Mess With Gwendoline Christie (or Brienne)

When Gwendoline Christie isn't kicking some serious ass as Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, she's ditching her heavy armor in favor or her more glamorous real-life self. The actress, whose supermodel height comes in at 6'3", stepped out in New York City on Thursday to promote her other hit show, Top of the Lake: China Girl. In addition to looking stunning in a flowy blue dress, Gwendoline also hilariously towered over everyone around her. From her excited fans to her close friend escorting her to her car, she was basically looking down on everyone and everything (but not in a snobby way). We know Jason Momoa isn't on Game of Thrones anymore, but can you imagine a fight scene between Khal Drogo and Brienne? Epic.

8 Places in the Home Even Clean People Forget to Wash

Your bed is always made, toilet bowl polished, and coffee table styled just so, but is your house really clean? Filth can quietly build up in unexpected places, from the decor to the appliances. Read on to discover the most overlooked spots to clean - and to learn how you can get them back in tip-top shape.

  • Coffeemaker
  • If your morning java is starting to taste funky, it's probably because your coffeemaker is in need of a cleaning. Hard-water deposits and brewing residue can take over your machine if you don't wash it every month or so by running a 50-50 mix of white vinegar and water through the brew cycle. Turn off the machine halfway through brewing, and let it sit for an hour before turning it back on to complete the cycle. Then run fresh water through it a few times until the vinegar smell is gone. The carafe and filter can be cleaned in the dishwasher.

  • Throw Pillows
  • You know it's important to clean your bedroom pillows, but what about those stylish throw pillows on your sofa? Whether you're using them to prop up your feet after a long day or rest your head during a Netflix binge, they're collecting the same (if not more) dead skin, dust mites, and filth. Be sure to run the vacuum's upholstery attachment over pillows when cleaning the living room, and remove pillow covers for periodic laundering according to the care instructions.

  • Kitchen Trash Can
  • Is that foul odor lingering even after you take the trash out? It could be leftover food debris and bacteria that have made their way into the trash can. Get it clean by hosing out any gunk before spraying with a disinfectant and an odor-eliminating product and giving it a thorough scrub down.

  • Curtains and Upholstery
  • They might look clean to the naked eye, but curtains and upholstery trap everything from pollen and dust mites to bacteria and mold. Take the vacuum to them regularly, and for especially dirty fabrics, check the label to see if washing or professional cleaning is an option.

  • Dishwasher
  • This one might seem counterintuitive, but even dish-cleaning machines require cleaning. Dishwashers get clogged with food debris, soap scum, hard-water deposits, and even mold. Start by cleaning out the filter of the dishwasher - yes, your dishwasher has a filter, and if this is the first time you're learning of it, odds are yours is clogged with old food particles - and then run a heavy-duty cleaning agent through the wash cycle. We're partial to baking soda bombs.

  • Bathroom Decor
  • From the cup you hold your toothbrush in to the glass jars atop the toilet, you would be surprised how bacteria spreads around the bathroom. Give all your bathroom accessories a good antiseptic rubdown when you're cleaning the bathroom.

  • Washing Machine
  • If you've ever noticed that your clothes smell less than fresh after being washed, then it's probably time to clean your washing machine. With all the water and damp clothes that go through them, these machines are especially susceptible to mold and mildew. You can clean your washing machine by running a mix of white vinegar and baking soda through the hottest cycle available.

  • Knobs, Handles, and Switches
  • Based on the number of dirty hands grabbing at them, knobs, handles, and light switches seem like an obvious place to disinfect, but they're frequently overlooked. Don't forget to address these bacteria hot spots when wiping down places like the kitchen and bathroom.

Without a Doubt, Kelly Ripa Is the Queen of Pop Culture Halloween Costumes

Kelly Ripa does not hold back when it comes to Halloween. In addition to nailing her pop culture outfits, the TV host often sports more than one costume on Live With Kelly, making for twice the fun. In 2011, Kelly brought on the laughs when she and Nick Lachey dressed up as Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries on air, and two years later, she and her former cohost, Michael Strahan, recreated that now-infamous Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke VMAs moment. In 2016, the TV host completely outdid herself by sporting not one, but eight amazing costumes.

Bad Moms Christmas Trailer: Booze, Nudity, and a Child Saying "Oh My F*cking God"

Rejoice, because Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn are back as Amy, Kiki, and Carla, aka the world's best bad moms. "You know what makes Christmas so special? Moms," Kunis says in a (very accurate) voice-over for the first Bad Moms Christmas trailer. "Moms working their asses off, cooking, wrapping, decorating, and shopping." That's right - the moms are still boozing it up (in a mall food court, no less) and venting about their families, only this time it's during the holidays, and they're all about to get a stressful visit from their own mothers (played by Susan Sarandon and Christine Baranski, god bless). The raunchy comedy doesn't come out until Nov. 3, so in the meantime, check out the trailer above!

Rihanna Lets Her Boobs Fly Free After Vowing to Embrace Them "Before They Go South"

Because Rihanna is the bad and perfect bitch that she is, she doesn't wait until she gets home from a long day at work to fling her bra off and let her boobs hang free - she does it whenever the hell she wants. The "Wild Thoughts" singer stepped out in New York City on Thursday night to celebrate the launch of her beauty brand, Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, and proved once again why she's so damn relatable despite her massive star power. Dressed in a stunning yellow skirt and matching shirt, Rihanna ditched her bra and let her girls breathe and bounce while posing for photos.

Since this is definitely not the first time we've become acquainted with the singer's nipples, she opened up about her love of letting it all hang out in Elle's October issue. After Laverne Cox asked her about her infamous Swarovski crystal dress at the CFDA Awards in 2014 that was extremely sheer, Rihanna responded, "I took advantage of my titties before they go south. I saw my window, and I took it." Iconic.

Selena Gomez Says This 1 Person Helped Guide Her Through Her Career

Selena Gomez is gracing her first cover of Time for the magazine's special project edition dubbed "Firsts." The magazine features 46 different covers with women, like Serena Williams, Oprah Winfrey, and Shonda Rhimes, who are all changing the world by being the firsts to break records and accomplish goals. Selena was the first person to hit 100 million subscribers on Instagram and is being called "The Tastemaker" for the influential power her social media holds. Reportedly, Selena could makes upwards of $550,000 from an Instagram ad.

In the interview, the 25-year-old, who is currently dating The Weeknd, opens up about the one person that helped shape her and her love for performing."When I started working my mom was the person in my life that helped guide me through most of that. She was 16 so we kind of grew up together," she said. "Everything that I am is kind of become a little bit of what my mom's gone through. She had the ability of making me feel like I was still capable of doing everything I wanted."

When Selena first started in the industry, her mom, Mandy Teefey, and her stepdad, Brian Teefey, were her managers, but they famously decided to part ways back in 2014. Selena talked about that time to W in 2016: "I was like, 'Mom, I gotta figure it out on my own.' It was the kid-going-to-college in my mind." Selena and her mom continue to work closely as executive producers of the hit Netflix series 13 Reasons Why.

The singer also used the Time interview to reveal just how important her relationship with her fans is to her, saying, "It's already difficult to get up every day and just feel good about yourself without seeing the highlights of everyone else's life. That's why I like being vulnerable with my fans on social media. I like that they've seen my mistakes. I try to use that as a way to connect with them. That's all I can do. I hope that they know that strength doesn't mean that you have to put on a facade. Strength is being vulnerable."

Hand Salad, Anyone? The Internet Responds With a Resounding "Nah, We're Good"

In an earnest attempt to spruce up the notion of crudités and dip, Bon Appétit tried to make "hand salad" happen. In the recipe's accompanying article, the writer admitted, "We call this a hand salad because lettuce and dip just doesn't sound like nearly as much fun." Despite the honesty and lovely picture of the so-called hand salad, the internet nearly imploded.

Social media users were mostly amused by the creation of such an elaborate phrase to describe such a basic culinary concept. Many also pointed out that the lettuce would really just be used as a vehicle to eat more of the dressing dip, understandably. Other brave souls, however, admitted that the hand salad sounds and looks damn good.

Ahead, we've rounded up some of the most hilarious responses, as well as the tweet that started it all.

Exclusive: GLAAD Is Honoring CNN Anchor Don Lemon With a Powerful Award

CNN anchor and correspondent Don Lemon is set to be honored at this year's GLAAD Gala in San Francisco. The Emmy Award-winning anchor, who came out as gay in 2011, will receive the Davidson/Valentini Award at the GLAAD Gala San Francisco on Sept. 9. CNN commentator Van Jones will present the award.

The Davidson/Valentini award is named in honor after Craig Davidson, the organization's first executive director and his partner, Michael Valentini. The award is given to to the "LGBTQ media professional who has a made a significant difference in promoting equality and acceptance for the LGBTQ community." This year, Lemon is receiving it in light of his reporting from the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando, his response to the Charlottesville, VA, rally involving neo-Nazis and white supremacists, and for "holding public officials accountable to facts and highlighting underrepresented LGBTQ issues," according to a press release.

Lemon, who will join the ranks of previous winners like Adam Lambert, Hannah Hart, and Tyler Oakley, was praised by GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. "Don Lemon's honest reporting has been a beacon of clarity in the increasingly muddled world of today's news media," Ellis said in a press release. "He is never afraid to expose the truth and speaks his mind in a way that not only raises the bar for other news anchors, but showcases his heart and his passion for all Americans."

Sam Altman, president of silicon valley accelerator Y Combinator, will also be honored at the 2017 GLAAD San Francisco Gala alongside Lemon. Altman will receive the Ric Weiland Award for "advanc[ing] LGBTQ equality and acceptance through tech and new media."

A big congratulations to Lemon for his work in the LGBTQ+ space. It will hopefully only further embolden him to continue to address these issues in the media.

J.K. Rowling Said THIS Is Her Favorite Harry Potter Theory

The first Harry Potter book came out almost 20 years ago, but not a day goes by where new theories and plot coincidences don't shock us all (and make us want to reread the entire series). J.K. Rowling keeps up with them too and she recently answered a fan's question about which is her favorite.

That mind-blowing revelation comes from Tumblr user harryjxmespotter, who compares Dumbledore to death in "The Tale of the Three Brothers."

If you remember, the tale was about the Peverell brothers, each possessing one of the Deathly Hallows - the elder wand, the invisibility cloak, and the resurrection stone. The long-standing Internet theory is that Harry Potter, Snape, and Voldemort are modern-day representations of the three brothers.

Voldemort is associated with the older brother, who was obsessed with power. Snape is basically the middle brother, who can't let go of his past love, Lily, and dies a sad death still loving her. This leaves Harry to take on the role of the youngest brother, and Harry himself literally possessed the invisibility cloak.

The only piece of the puzzle that makes this theory even more plausible is that Dumbledore himself is death. "He greeted Harry at King's Cross and was the one behind Snape and Voldemort's death," harryjxmespotter wrote. See the entire post below:

There's a Haunted House Inspired by Stephen King's It, Because Nightmares Can Come True

Pennywise the killer clown has ruined many a night's sleep for anyone who has seen the 1990 movie or read the book It. The brainchild of horror master Stephen King is nightmarish, especially for anyone who hates clowns as much as I do (honestly, does anyone actually like clowns?). I also really love to have the sh*t scared out of me, so the new It Experience opening to celebrate the release of the 2017 remake sounds horrible - in the best possible way.

The It Experience: Neibolt House Hollywood is in Los Angeles, where guests will be taken at their own risk inside a two-story replica of where "It" lives. "Guests will be guided by 'Georgie' through the 5,000 square foot house and will venture room by room through immersive film inspired scenes complete with authentic set props," the site says. The terrifying experience runs Aug. 14-Sept. 10 leading up to the new film's release (it's out Sept. 8). Tickets are no longer available online, but horror buffs can still try the standby line, and the site says that even more times are being added. Read on (if you dare) to get a sneak peek at what brave souls who enter the experience will encounter.

What Goats (Yes, Goats) Can Teach Us About Personal Finance

While writing her hugely successful self-help book You Are a Badass, author and life coach Jen Sincero stayed in a California farmhouse - ostensibly for the peace and quiet, but what she found instead were inspiring financial lessons from an unlikely source: goats. She includes these lessons in her follow-up book, You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth, all about achieving financial abundance and security.

Keep reading for the laugh-out-loud hilarious excerpt and find out how we can live more like goats, become our "badassiest selves," and grow richer.

"I wrote the first You Are a Badass book while I was staying on a farm in northern California. The deal was I could have the entire 17-acre paradise, complete with beautiful sunny house and views in all directions, if I took care of their horse and two goats. I'm a little scared of horses (and don't you need a special license or degree or something to take care of an animal that large?) and knew nothing about goats other than that they can chew through cans, but I loved the place, and I love animals, and staying there ended up being one of my favorite chunks of time ever.

I'd spend my days sitting on the couch in front of the giant windows, typing on my laptop while gazing out at Diablo Mountain. The goats spent their days sitting on the porch in front of the sliding glass door, gazing at me, waiting in vain to be let inside. Sometimes they'd get up and chase the horse around the yard or run full speed into each other's heads, but for the most part they'd just glare at me with their weird goatly eyes, aggressively chewing their cud, insulted and unamused by their outdoor-only status. Every so often, when they just could not believe I still hadn't gotten up and invited them in, they'd take matters into their own hands and hurl themselves against the glass or get up on their hind legs and pound it with their hooves.

Image Source: StockSnap / Darius Anton
One day while I was off in town shopping, I returned home after about five hours to find the horse standing in the driveway by himself. Although he was truly one of the biggest horses I'd ever laid eyes on, he was also one of the neediest, and was rarely, if ever, more than 20 feet away from his goats.

"What are you doing out here all by yourself?" I asked him as I got out of the car, pausing to listen to the familiar sound of goat hooves banging against a glass door. My first thought was how strange it was that they'd be trying to get in when I wasn't home (they were equally as needy about me as the horse was about them). My second thought was Holy. F*cking. Sh*t.

I realized they weren't trying to get in. They were trying to get out.

In a slow-motion sprint, I ran up to the house, let myself in, shoved the goats out, and did my best to shut and barricade the newly compromised door. I then proceeded to stand frozen, with my hands over my mouth, uttering "Oh my God" over and over and over as I took in the sight before me.

It was like witnessing the aftermath of a particularly debauched fraternity party full of amateur drinkers - epic, shocking, and so staggeringly horrible you can't help but look even though you really don't want to.

The goats had finally made the impossible dream come true by knocking the sliding glass door off its track and bursting through the screen, which subsequently closed on its own, trapping them inside with nothing else to do but completely destroy the place for five delirious hours. Their handiwork involved knocking over every single potted plant, smashing the planters and kicking dirt, planter, and plant debris in an impressively wide radius. They pulled the dish towel off the counter that I had glasses drying on, thereby shattering glass all over the place. Then there was the pooping and pissing party, which took place on every single piece of furniture and in every imaginable corner. They excreted their excrement on my bed, the white couch, the coffee table, the dining-room table, the bench in the hallway, and inside my shower. There was such an incredible volume of urine, in fact, I imagined that they somehow must have waved the horse inside so he could get in on the fun too. For their grand finale, they hopped up and down and knocked nearly every single piece of artwork off the wall onto the floor. I mean, who thinks to do that?

My first reaction was shock, but I have to admit, after that I was pretty damn impressed. They really did a great, thorough job. We could all learn a thing or two from their tireless commitment to detail and the pride they so clearly took in their work.

Here are some secrets to success that the goats modeled beautifully:

  • Chewing, kicking, stampeding through any obstacles in their paths.
  • Pooh-poohing the rules.
  • Dreaming. Bigger than goats are told they can dream.
  • Never taking no for an answer.
  • Following their hearts no matter what.
  • Not stopping until they reached their goal.

It opened up a whole new world for them, literally and metaphorically. They transcended their Outdoor Farm Animals status and became Creatures Who've Experienced Thousand-Thread-Count Sheets. They were forever changed. What this meant was that they became colossal pains in the ass, and more destructive than any goat has ever been, which is saying something. Drunk with power on their victory and newfound mindset that anything they desire is possible, they broke through the gate and started terrorizing the neighborhood on a regular basis. They began jumping all over people's parked cars, tried to break and enter any sliding glass door they happened upon, tore down bird feeders, obliterated gardens, and chased after small dogs, all the while maniacally screaming, yelling, laughing, and pissing wherever they pleased, like a pair of carousing psychopaths. I quickly got the gate fixed, patched all the holes in the fence surrounding the property, and covered my car in giant slabs of plywood to keep them off it, but the horse and I never looked at the goats the same way again. We were both kinda in awe.

Doubts, fears, and other people's rules are no match for a heart on a mission.
In order to become rich, you must connect to your desire for money with the passion of a goat who wants in off the porch. And the key to doing this is by getting clear on the specifics around your Why: Why do you desire this money? What will you spend it on? How will it feel to make it, spend it, and bask in the manifestation of your ever so important Why? Just wanting to get rich isn't going to cut it - there has to be meaning behind the money or else the second it gets hard or expensive or someone tells you you're high if you think you can get rich by selling your homemade ice cream, you'll slink back to your goat pen of complacency instead of doing whatever it takes. Start by thinking about what inspired you to pick up this book. How is more money going to add value to your life? How will getting rich change who you're being in the world? Which of your gifts are you the most excited to share in exchange for money? Where do you feel you bring the most value to your fellow earthlings? How does it feel to share your biggest, badassiest self with others?

If you're going to make more money, you need to get in touch with the emotions surrounding your incentive for making it, because emotions are what drive you to action. And if you're going to make the kind of money you've never made before, you're going to have to do a whole lotta stuff you ain't never done before, which will scare and challenge (and excite) the crap out of you. So you're going to want to be real fired up about getting rich and very clear about why it's so important to you."

This Leaf-Clearing Hack Will Make You Throw Out Your Rakes - For Good

You might think raking leaves is a relatively simple - albeit tedious and annoying - Autumn task, but it turns out there's a way to make raking leaves even simpler and far more efficient.

And it doesn't even include a rake at all - just a piece of cardboard.

Using a large, flat, sturdy section of cardboard, simply push the leaves, snowplow-style, in lines across the yard until they form one big heap. It almost seems like there must be a catch, but check out the video below and you'll see that as long as the leaves are dry, it really is this straightforward (even Bob Vila recommends this tactic!). "Cardboarding" leaves may not become your favorite autumnal pastime ever, but at least this dreaded chore just got a little less, well, dreadful.

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Head Out in London, and Holy Kit, His Jeans Are Tight!

We've seen a surprising amount of Kit Harington's backside recently. Those infamous and long-awaited scenes in episode seven of season seven of Game of Thrones gave us a close-up look at Jon Snow's perky posterior, and it wasn't the first time he'd bared his butt on screen. Back in season three, Jon and Ygritte get steamy in a cave, and today Kit was back with his wildling lover, flashing that butt once again as he and his girlfriend and former costar, Rose Leslie, ran errands close to their London home. Nope, he didn't get naked, but he may as well have, given how tight his jeans were! Those skinnies left very little to the imagination and gave us serious GOT flashbacks. See for yourself now, for a little proof that though Winter is here, Kit's still hot.
