Michelle Obama Just Perfectly Summed Up the Hypocrisy of the GOP
If anyone is going to expertly shred the current administration without so much as a single mention of our president's name, you can bet that it's going to be Michelle Obama.
Speaking at a Sept. 22 tech conference in Utah, the former first lady answered questions in an hour-long moderated conversation that shed light on her true feelings about the current state of American politics. As initially reported by the Salt Lake City Tribune, Mrs. Obama took the opportunity to address the flaws she sees in the nationalist, "America-first" rhetoric that's played a central role in Donald Trump's rise to power. "We live in a big country and a big world," she said before noting that her husband's White House was one built on hope while the current administration is one built on fear.
Obama also expertly called out the hypocrisy that often surrounds the conservative discourse on health care. "You can't just want to help someone in a hurricane and not make sure they can go to the doctor when they're sick," she said to an audience over 1,000 people. But while it's refreshing to hear Michelle Obama's take on our current political climate, she also made it very clear that she's not interested in a run for office anytime soon. When a member of the crowd shouted out that Obama should run for president, she was quick to shut it down. "That's still shocking. Like, what?" Obama said, adding, "Are you kidding me? No."
Even if Michelle Obama isn't ready to run for president yet, we can only hope that she throws her wit and sass into helping to get one of these highly qualified women into office in 2020.

What's the Real Deal With Hydroquinone?
Hydroquinone has become pretty controversial in the beauty world. One minute, it's the miracle ingredient for clearing up dark spots, and the next, it's supposedly carcinogenic. It's hard for anything to be deemed trustworthy and effective once labeled as a cancer causer. Yet, through all the fuss, experts have maintained that hydroquinone remains the gold standard for erasing hyperpigmentation and age spots. So in all that toxic talk, what's the truth? We asked three experts to weigh in.
Why all the fuss?
"Much of this controversy stems from its ban in South Africa due to side effects," explained Sejal Shah, NYC cosmetic dermatologist and founder of SmarterSkin Dermatology. "Subsequently, other countries banned hydroquinone. It turns out that the questionable products in South Africa contained mercury and other contaminants, which more likely account for side effects being seen."
Dr. Shah further explained that there have been reports of hydroquinone causing cancer in mice when administered in high doses orally, but there are no studies to date showing that this happens in humans and with a topical application. "When properly formulated and used, hydroquinone can be extremely safe and effective, and we have numerous studies confirming this," Shah added.
Does it bleach skin?
Rachel Roff, a medical esthetician and founder of Urban Skin Rx, quickly squashed this myth. "When used within a safe strength, hydroquinone doesn't bleach someone's natural skin tone. It evens out the skin," Roff said. While it may not be proven to cause cancer, if used incorrectly, it can leave skin vulnerable to excessive sun exposure, which could mean a higher risk of skin cancer and sunburn.
"As a general known fact, side effects of skin bleaching, regardless of product or ingredient, include skin irritation and sun sensitivity," dermatologist Dendy Engelman said. There's also a condition called ochronosis, where the skin darkens. This reaction is mainly associated with high concentrations of hydroquinone that has been used for prolonged periods of time.
When do you need hydroquinone?
The main purpose of hydroquinone in skin care is as a lightening agent. "Skin lightening is performed for a variety of reasons, including sun damage. Melanin (aka pigment) is produced by skin cells called melanocytes, and various topical creams are used to reduce the amount of pigment that is produced to brighten the skin," Engelman said. These include hydroquinone, which is the most common, botanical extracts, and antioxidants.
How do you use it safely?
A hydroquinone regimen should be used for no more than three to four months at a time, followed by a minimum of two months off. After the two months, if hyperpigmentation is still an issue, you can return to using hydroquinone for another three- to four-month period.
What if you just can't get behind hydroquinone?
While the experts agree that nothing works on dark spots quite as fast as hydroquinone does, there are ingredients that are just as effective. It may take longer to see results, but natural solutions like kojic acid, alpha arbutin, niacinamide, and vitamin C can help even out your skin. Something like SkinMedica Lytera 2.0, a pigment-correcting serum that is retinol- and hydroquinone-free, balances the skin's melanin production and resists triggers that cause discoloration.

You Have to Watch This Family Feud Audition to the End to See How Mom Announces Her Pregnancy
Sabrina Clendenin is obsessed with Family Feud and has been trying for a while to get her husband Jordan to film an audition video for the show so they could hopefully be contestants. How 1 Couple Built the Dreamiest Tiny Cabin For Just $700 - Yes, You Read That Correctly
Our undying obsession with tiny homes has officially been taken to the next level, thanks to one crafty couple in Montana. Photographer Alla Ponomareva and her husband, Garret, recently constructed their own teeny-tiny cabin in the woods, and it only cost them about $700 and took three weeks, from start to finish. Yes, you read that correctly - we're just as impressed as you are!
Designed by tiny-home expert Derek Diedricksen, the A-frame dwelling only takes up 80 square feet and is packed with gorgeous features. Situated on top of a wooden deck with added room for chairs and plants, the triangular cabin has one wall that's both transparent (for ample natural light) and retractable (so it lifts up to open the indoor space a bit more). Plus, the roof has a solar panel attached, in case cabin visitors need to charge their phone at night.
The interior is decorated with a mint and coral motif and includes two beds that can be either separate or pushed together. By the window, there's shelf space for plenty of belongings like plates, utensils, and a portable burner. As the bite-size abode was only intended to be a guest house for Alla and Garret's actual home nearby, it doesn't have running water or a toilet, though those amenities are available in the woods nearby.
So how on earth did this dreamy masterpiece only cost $700 to put together? Alla explained on her blog that she and her husband had tons of leftover materials from past projects, such as nails, windows, and boards, which they upcycled when constructing the cabin. Sounds like it totally pays off to have a "junk" pile of old materials lying around if you're a DIY addict like this couple!
Ready to be mesmerized by the cutest tiny cabin ever? Read on for more pictures of this mini slice of secluded paradise, and be sure to visit Alla's blog for more details on how they got the impressive job done.

When You Find Out How Many People Watched Stranger Things Season 2, Your Jaw Will Drop
It doesn't take a genius to know that Stranger Things is popular; from Halloween costumes to social media meltdowns, the sci-fi drama has solidified itself as a pop-culture phenomenon. That being said, the exact facts and figures surrounding the show's success have never been shared with the public, until now.
Netflix, the home of Stranger Things, has been notoriously cagey about releasing the ratings of their original programs. The most we've ever gotten was the big reveal of their top 20 most binge-raced shows in early October. Now, two weeks after Nielsen announced that it will begin measuring Netflix viewership, the company dropped the details on just how many people watched season two of Stranger Things on their TVs after it debuted on Oct. 27 (mobile devices were excluded from tracking).
According to Deadline, within the first three days of the show's return, episode one averaged 15.8 million US viewers and almost 11 million in the demo "viewing on the TV." All nine episodes averaged around four million viewers each and three million in the demo. Nielsen also noted that 361,000 people binged the entire season in just one day, describing it as a "significant viewing event."
In other words, you probably aren't the only one with a big crush on Chief Jim Hopper.
I Found the Perfect Face Cleanser For When I'm Just Too Lazy to Deal
I've been reporting on beauty for a long time. Longer than I want to admit. So I know that properly cleansing your face, patting it dry, toning it, and applying serums and moisturizers (in the correct order) are critical steps in maintaining a healthy and balanced complexion. That said, I've never looked forward to these obligatory steps, let alone those that require me to add grainy exfoliators and globby masks to the already-long routine. I suppose you could write me off as lazy, but I just don't like beauty upkeep. I'm all about good hygiene - I'm not a monster - but I struggle to find the joy in spending my time at the sink. That said, I still do it. I still wash my face and switch out my cleansers depending on the season, and I still dab the creams and dot my eyes.
But I also skip it sometimes and head to bed with immense guilt, like I've neglected to feed my dog or lock the front door. To fix this, I've spent a lot of time searching for makeup wipes that I could store near my bed, but they've all failed me, leaving me ultradry with burning eyes and blotchy skin.
But two years ago, I received a bottle of Bioderma Micelle Solution Sensitive Skin, and everything changed. Micellar water has been touted as a miracle cleanser that doesn't need to be rinsed off, and while I typically use it as part of the aforementioned cleansing routine, I keep a second bottle on my bedside table for the nights when I'm just too darn lazy to do anything more than brush my teeth. On those nights, I grab the cotton rounds that I also store in my bedside table, lie down like the lethargic human I am, and wipe it all off. The makeup, the mascara, the gunk - it all comes off. And the best part is that because the solution is made for sensitive skin, it never burns my face or makes me red. It leaves me squeaky-clean.
Whether you're a proud lazy girl or an occasional loaf, I urge you to give this hack a try.

These Are the Best Beauty Products of 2017, According to Industry Experts
Growing your cosmetic collection is exciting, but it can also present a challenge when it's time to spend your cash. After all, a ton of innovative beauty products flood the market each year. So what do you buy? Is it right for you? What are other people saying about it? All of these questions go into picking out the "best" products.
Luckily, each year, the experts of the Cosmetic Executive Women organization gather for the CEW Beauty Insider Product Demonstration to declare the best of the best. At the demo, beauty experts sift through the year's most exciting launches (from over 500 brands). Following the exhibition, they narrow down the entries to finalists and then vote on which products deserve the top honor in their respective categories. "The winners of the CEW Beauty Insider Awards are selected by industry experts, giving consumers a 'seal of approval' they can trust for making purchase decisions," said Carlotta Jacobson, president of CEW.
Among the items that received this prestigious "seal of approval" are some of 2017's trendiest devices (we're looking at you, Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer), along with #InstaFamous foundations, viral palettes, designer fragrances, and more! Read on to see and shop the best swag of 2017.
Kids Were Banned From a Florida Restaurant For This 1 Reason - Do You Agree With It?
When Hampton Station, a restaurant in the Seminole Heights neighborhood of Tampa, FL, posted a decal on its door forbidding children on Oct. 24, local parents had questions about the reasoning behind the ban of minors. The discussion escalated further when the Tampa Bay Moms Group posted a photo of the restaurant's front door to its Facebook page, and judging by the comments section, it's safe to say locals are torn on the matter.
Although Troy Taylor, the owner of Hampton Station, didn't get into specifics about what lead to the ban on kids during an interview with the Today Show, he hinted that it was for their own safety. "It's basically about children's safety," he said. "We're a small, local place, and I couldn't stand to have someone get hurt, especially a kid, on our watch. And we really don't have the staff to monitor that kind of stuff."
Troy also alluded to the fact that the issues have arisen when people don't watch their own children while dining at the restaurant. He explained that although he knows drunk adults can be just as bad as kids, confronting someone else's child about their bad behavior is another story: "But it's okay for an adult to go over to another adult and say, 'Hey, I need you to stop. I need you to leave.' If an adult goes over to a child and does that, it's a whole different thing," he said. "It's a very touchy thing. And it's not our job to go out and tell kids what they should or shouldn't do."
Hearing his thoughts, it's no surprise that Troy's sign has sparked a heated debate over social media with people both for and against the ban.
"It's a bar with a clear safety issue and they had customers who weren't controlling their kids. Totally appropriate to make it an 18+ business. It's not discriminatory folks . . . it's a bar, after all. The people taking kids to a bar are, I perhaps, often the ones ignoring their kids. Take them to Chuck E Cheese," wrote one user.
Another parent agreed, saying:
"It's a privately owned business; they serve alcohol. If they don't want kids in there I think that is their business. I would prefer to go somewhere without kids, I have kids and I would not bring my kids to a place if they could not behave or keep an inside voice. Plus they serve alcohol, and many people feel parents should not drink when their kids are present, so good for them. If some parents don't like it they can go to some other place, I think many people might want to go without kids."
And of course, there was plenty of disappointment from parents who were used to bringing their kiddos along: "I do not have an issue with a bar excluding children; however, most bar and grills do allow family patrons. When we exclude children, we must remember we are also excluding parents and women from patroning local food spots. I loved visiting this place during lunch with my husband and child. We would order a pizza, enjoy the fun scenery and he often ordered one beer. I do not drink. We will no longer be patrons at this establishment."
Do you agree with this bar's ban? Or do you think it's a bit much? Tell us in the comments.
Mom Found Out She Was Pregnant 2 Months After Giving Birth – And Then She Did This
When Maya Vorderstrasse found out she was pregnant, it was a legit surprise - she had just given birth to a baby girl two months prior.
"When I found out, I took quite a few pregnancy tests because I was just in shock," she told POPSUGAR. "I needed some time to process it. Soon, I realized that this baby had a purpose in life and needed to be born. I felt so honored and excited to nurture her and bring her into the world!"
Maya soon found a renewed purpose herself - and it involved sharing the comical realities of both pregnancy and parenthood on her Instagram feed.
"I wanted my kids to have as much information and memories from my pregnancies and their childhood," she said, never thinking it'd garner her 21,000 followers and counting. "Something that was supposed to be a simple keepsake for my family is helping others . . . mothers are relating to my day-to-day issues and being OK with not having it together!"
So far, her hilariously relatable photos - with the help of a handy, on-trend letter board - describe the unparalleled joys of ice cream, the frustration of loose-lipped husbands, and the all-out bewilderment as to how the hell a baby the size of a watermelon can fit through something the size of a bagel hole.
Although having two daughters - 1-year-old Zoey and newborn Hazel - so close in age is a challenge, Maya still manages to be the embodiment of #momgoals:
"I wouldn't have it any other way," she told us. "It's extremely challenging to have two babies who need my attention and care full-time. They are on two different schedules and need different things, but I am adapting well. I even managed to get them to nap at the same time. Score!"

Video Hilariously Explains Why Grandparents Can't Be Trusted With Our Kids
When Bryar starts a fruit loop food fight and pop pop finishes it! Grand babies 👶🏼 are the greatest joy. Life is short! Have fun! It all washes off 😊
Posted by Andrea Burdette Acton on Wednesday, November 1, 2017
There are plenty of things grandparents do that make parenting 10 times harder (read: making you look like the bad guy, never asking permission to do certain things with your kids, and spoiling them to death), but one hilarious video just proved why grandma and grandpa totally can't be trusted with your kids.
In a video posted to Facebook, Andrea Burdette Acton - or "Maw Maw" - shows her grandson Bryar playing on the floor with what looks like half a box of loose Froot Loops during a visit to her house. Rather than let him play and be a kid for a minute then encourage him to clean up his mess (as mom would likely do), his grandfather comes in and proceeds to dump the entire rest of the box, sugary neon crumbs and all, on top of the little one's head.
Despite our aforementioned examples of why grandparents are the worst, however, we're having a hard time being the least bit mad at these grandparents' little bit of fun after reading Acton's video caption: "When Bryar starts a Froot Loop food fight and Pop Pop finishes it! Grand babies are the greatest joy. Life is short! Have fun! It all washes off." (True, but good luck to Bryar's parents when he decides to raid the pantry for cereal once he gets back home!)
I Finally Found the 1 Acne Spot Treatment That Works on My Problematic Skin
I've suffered from hormonal cystic acne since I hit puberty, and those huge, painful, and embarrassing blemishes have never stopped stressing me out. Finally, after 15 years and the help of a dermatologist, I have clear skin. But that doesn't mean I don't suffer from a breakout every now and then. I often feel those pesky, painful pimples under my skin before they're even noticeable, and I want to fight them before they get bigger. From the classic myth of using toothpaste as a spot treatment to rubbing a piece of aspirin on my skin (I know, but I was desperate at the time), these kooky hacks never did it for me. Then, a little over a year ago, I found a spot treatment product that finally does what it promises to: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17).
I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I discovered this amazing product by watching Kylie Jenner's Snapchat. (This was before the launch of her own cosmetic line, when she used to show more of her own skincare routine.) Little did I know that the small pink bottle was a total cult classic. I went and bought it immediately. That night before bed, I followed the instructions and used a cotton swab to dab the pink lotion on every little bump I could find. I woke up the next day and there was no trace of the lotion or of a blemish. At last, a product that I saw results with. I've been addicted ever since.
If you're wondering what makes this treatment so special, it's the pink substance itself: the calamine lotion. (Yes, that's the same lotion that you may have used if you've ever suffered from poison ivy or insect bites as a kid.) This soothing lotion is mixed with acne-fighting ingredients like salicylic acid and sulfur, which work together to dry out clogged pores, kill bacteria, and diminish your spots. If you've been searching for the right spot treatment for you, this one is definitely worth a try.

I'm One of Those Girls Who Plucked Off All My Eyebrows - Here's How I Got Them Back
Some of you might be able to sympathize with this horror story: when I was in high school, it was cool to pluck off all your eyebrows. I was pretty much left with one tiny straight line that looked like I drew it on with a gel pen. At that time I felt really cool and thought I looked like Kate Moss, but eventually I realized it was a mistake. For years after, I always struggled to grow them back, which was even harder because I have extremely thin and light blond hair that was already sparse and barely showed up on my skin. Throughout the last 10 years, I've used dozens of different powders, pens, gels, and pencils, but nothing ever really looked natural or made me feel confident.
About two years ago, a coworker who had insanely long lashes told me she used this product to make her eyelashes grow longer. RevitaLash is a cosmetic formula developed to help improve flexibility, moisture, and shine while increasing the lushness of your lashes. Once my friend told me about this, a light bulb immediately went off in my head that maybe I could use this to grow my eyebrows. In less than 30 seconds, I was back at my desk researching the product and discovered that the brand also has a formula for your eyebrows: RevitaBrow ($58). I instantly purchased the serum with two-day shipping. I was excited.
A few days later, I received my RevitaBrow in the mail, and I was initially hesitant because I get freaked out using new products, especially on my face or around my eyes. But in this case, I was desperate for fuller brows and gave it a go. Within just two months, I noticed my eyebrows had definitely started growing, and by the time I hit six months, they were at a place I never knew I could get them. I do have to say because my hair is so fair that I don't see the full thickness of my eyebrows until I dye them (which I do on a monthly basis), but once they are my preferable darker shade, I can't believe that full thickness is actually mine!
I often get compliments on my eyebrow fullness, and it really means the world to me after all the struggles it took to achieve them. I still use a pencil every day because, like most people, I still get bald spots and like to create a fuller but still natural look. I don't use the product every day anymore, maybe just a few times a week when I remember. When I use it, I still see a difference when it comes to keeping up the fullness. Overall, this product is a huge win for me. Eyebrows really frame your face, and I can't express enough how much this product changed my brows.
I'm Hopelessly Addicted to Magnetic False Lashes (and Never Turning Back)
Guys, we need to have a talk about magnetic lash extensions. And by "a talk," I mean that I need to tell you how they're a f*cking godsend. I use them most times I wear makeup; basically, if you see me post a selfie anywhere, I'm probably wearing a pair of my magnetic falsies. I keep a pack of the lashes at my desk at work, I care for mine religiously at home, and I estimate that I've convinced at least 15 friends to buy their own pair. Considering the fact that many salons charge between $100 and $200 for lash extension treatments that only last a month, I feel obligated to share my experience with these reusable, easy-to-wear lash boosters. I've become something of a magnetic lash disciple.
Basically, if you see me post a selfie anywhere, I'm probably wearing a pair of my magnetic falsies.
When the producer of my weekly POPSUGAR Snapchat series, First Impression Friday, told me that I'd be trying magnetic eyelash extensions, I was nervous; I'd never even heard of magnetic lashes, let alone whether they were safe to use! But to make a long story short, the magnetic lash extensions from One Two Cosmetics ended up being my favorite product ever tested on First Impression Friday in over a year of shooting the Snap series - and I refused to part with them after we wrapped. I brought home the package of magnetic lashes and proceeded to wear them every single day for two weeks.
Like any self-respecting millennial, I took to social media to spread the word about the magnetic lashes, posting a blurb about them on my Instagram story. I received TONS of questions from friends and followers about the lashes, so I figured this review might be a good place to answer them! Read on for images of the lashes in action and answers to all the questions I've been asked since I began wearing the magnetic lash extensions.
50 of Mariah Carey's Sexiest Outfits Since 1993
Mariah Carey might have been in the music business for the past 27 years, but don't you dare to think for a second that means she's not still showing off her curves and beautiful legs any chance she gets (on the red carpet, in one of her music videos, and even when out and about in New York City). The singer with the powerful voice - mom to twins Moroccan and Monroe - could really rewear something she slipped on during her "Vision of Love" 1990s days in her current "I Don't" and Las Vegas residency phase and, quite honestly, we wouldn't blink twice. If it wasn't Mariah, we would think she probably already is, but we know better . . . especially after taking a deep dive into 24 years of her sexiest fashion moments.

Are Your Weights Too Light? 3 Ways to Know When to Go Heavier
Going to the gym can sometimes seem as mystical as teleporting to Asgard (if you're a fan of the Marvel Universe, you'll know what we're talking about). We get that. There are just so many unanswered questions: When do I work out? What exercises? How many sets and reps? Cardio first or last? Why is that guy wearing jeans in the gym? Is she wearing Lululemons or that new Kate Hudson brand? Chances are high that there is one important question you've probably never asked and likely don't know how to answer. That question? When should you increase the weight that you lift? This isn't about getting bulky and building big muscles. Lifting weights helps you burn fat and tones your body while helping you get lean and healthy! Here are three ways to tell when you should up the ante with your fitness by lifting heavier weights.
You're swinging the weight around
If the weight you're lifting seems more like a child's toy than something that belongs in the gym, you need to up the weight! According to certified personal trainer Terry Asher, owner of GymJunkies.com, "Lifting a weight that is too light for you is counterproductive to your strength gains, fat loss, and overall health." In fact, Asher believes "you should not train with a weight that doesn't require your full concentration and strength to move safely before you even start your sets." If it's so light that you don't need to focus, chances are you'll miss out on the benefits in the big picture of your overall health and fitness. The moral of the story here? Lifting a weight that's light enough to play with is just that, play - not working out.

You aren't feeling it
Do you work out and not feel your muscles contracting through each rep? Well, if that burn is missing, it's time for you to up the weight you're lifting! According to certified trainer Kendall Wood, NASM and coauthor of Core Fitness Solution, "If you're not feeling each contraction on every rep of your workout, you're not doing everything you can to spark positive changes in your body shape, fat loss, or strength gains." The old adage "No pain, no gain" is more than just a catchphrase. "A real workout means putting in effort in the gym, and that means feeling the burn while you're training and subsequent soreness the next day," Wood said. "If you're not feeling it, that's why it isn't working."

You're not seeing results
Results in the gym come in many different forms. You could lose weight, shrink in dress sizes, gain muscle, or get stronger and healthier. The fact remains, however, that results don't happen overnight. But if you're not seeing results after a strong commitment of diligent training over the course of six weeks, it's very likely that you need to raise the weight you're lifting. According to Lauryn Evarts, owner of The Skinny Confidential, "A well-planned training regime that is followed without fail and accompanied by an equally on-point nutrition plan will always prevail. But if those results don't come after a six-week period, you've probably not been putting in the effort by progressively lifting more and more as your body gets stronger."
The bottom line is obvious: Lifting more weight is essential to progression in the gym. All the experts agree that if you're lifting the same weight for too long (more than six weeks) or you can get through three to four sets without even feeling a burn or actual muscular fatigue, you're not lifting enough weight. If you want to get leaner, be stronger, fit into that new pair of jeans, or just feel better about your health, you just can't coast through your workouts. You'll only see the results you want if you're always pushing yourself by gradually increasing the weight to reflect the improvements in your body that come from training hard. Don't just go to the gym and go through the motions. Push yourself, and you'll be thrilled with the results!
This Instant Iced Coffee Hack Only Takes 2 Minutes
I'm an iced-coffee addict, but my clock and wallet don't always support the habit. Homemade cold-brew coffee is great, but let's be real - no one has time for that, and buying one every day isn't the way to go either. So I set out to find the solution to my caffeine needs, and this iced-coffee hack is it. You can get strong, creamy iced coffee in less than two minutes thanks to one magical ingredient - instant coffee.
I used Colombian instant coffee from Trader Joe's because that's where I shop, but you can use any ground instant coffee you can find. The recipe is beyond easy. First, heat up a couple tablespoons of water (either in the microwave, stovetop, or electric kettle) until boiling. Pour into a glass cup, then mix in a heaping spoonful of the coffee granules.
Fill the cup halfway with your creamer of choice (I used unsweetened almond milk) and a little vanilla bean simple syrup for sweetness (vanilla almond milk would work great, too). Be sure to leave enough room to top with a couple handfuls of ice.
And voilà - you're ready to walk out the door with your homemade iced coffee! This is quick and easy enough to do on busy weekday mornings or a great way to start off the weekend without having to leave your place.

Stranger Things: This Sweet Nancy and Jonathan Moment Is a Season 1 Callback
Sexual tension-fueled spoilers for Stranger Things season two below!
With all of the otherworldly possessions, baby Demogorgons, and yet another brutal end for a fan-favorite character, you could say a lot of crazy sh*t goes down in season two of Stranger Things. But you know what? There are quite a few sweet moments squeezed in there, especially when it comes to Nancy and Jonathan's new romance.
The will-they-or-won't-they dynamic of their relationship has always been exciting for anyone on the #TeamJonathan side of the show's big love triangle (although support for #TeamSteve is still going strong, don't you worry), and season two's fifth episode kicks the tension between them into overdrive. In "Dig Dug," Nancy and Jonathan decide to team up to "burn Hawkins Lab to the ground." The night before they put their big plan into motion, the pair rent a motel room together and have a pretty cute conversation.
As they're about to go to sleep (in their separate beds, mind you), Jonathan asks his not-so-secret crush if she wants the lights "on or off," and she laughs. He asks her what's so funny, and she replies, "Nothing. Dejà vu."
For anyone who has season one still fresh in their minds, Nancy's line is a reference to the night she and Jonathan spent in her room a year earlier. They'd just discovered an entrance to the Upside Down and had the first of many traumatic experiences together, so Nancy asks him to spend the night with her (and the "on or off" question is asked).
"Don't you think it's weird?" Nancy goes on to ask Jonathan in the season two scene. "We only seem to hang out when the world's about to end."
End of the world or not, these two clearly just can't stay away from each other.
How Rude! 8 Times Celebrity Moms Got Shamed in 2017
When it comes to people putting their two cents in on parenting decisions, no one gets it worse than celebrity mamas, who live life in the spotlight. And while most of the feedback famous mothers get is nothing but positive and supportive, there are always a few bad apples in the bunch.
Like years past, 2017 was no exception when it came to keyboard warriors doling out hurtful comments. These are the celebs who were on the receiving end of mom-shaming this year, even though they definitely didn't ask for it.
How to Do Your Hair and Makeup to Land a 3rd Date According to Matchmakers
The first time I met my husband was on a blind date. We connected via a dating app, and I honestly wasn't excited for the meeting. He sounded fantastic on paper (tall, dark, and handsome with an MBA), but our texting chats were kind of . . . boring. So I went to an after-work Pilates class before our late-night drinks and didn't put too much effort into my hair and makeup.
And holy sh*t! I regretted that! The second my man walked into the crowded wine bar, I thought, "He's really cute!" Oops. Luckily, it didn't matter. We still connected and obviously went out again. But not feeling like my most put-together self did affect my confidence during that meeting.
First impressions matter. Whether your date actually notices your chipped nails - or you just get distracted by them - it's not worth worrying about if you can avoid it. Having feel-good hair and makeup allows you to focus on getting to know this new person.
To help make sense of exactly how to do your beauty look for online dating profile pictures, the first date, and the third date, I consulted with Greta Tufvesson and Nikki Lewis. These women are professional matchmakers for their company, The Bevy. They are connecting singles across the country from San Francisco to New York City.
If what you're doing now isn't working for you, then you may just need their tough love. Because according to this duo, you need to play it safe for the first few meetings, meaning save the bold cat eye for the third date. Here, we got their tips on exactly what to avoid, what to do, and the products to help you achieve it.
By the way, before my second date with my husband, I made an appointment at Drybar.
This 21-Year-Old Artist Turns Body "Flaws" Into Beautiful Rainbow Art
Cinta Tort Catró, who also goes by the name Zinteta, is a 21-year-old artist from Barcelona who is not only is taking the art world by storm, but is also using her talents to protest sexism. She highlights her inspiring artwork on her Instagram account, where she's leading a conversation about body "flaws." By filling in her subjects' stretch marks and painting rainbow period stains, Cinta is beautifying the things women are frequently told to change or feel embarrassed about.
"I have not always felt comfortable with my period and stretch marks. Overall, I have not always felt secure with my body," Cinta told POPSUGAR, sharing that her own past of feeling ashamed over her own figure heavily inspired her work. "Over the years, and after internal reflection, I saw that if I did not accept anything [about] my body - hair, stretch marks - I could never love or accept me."
Cinta's projects, which she calls "artivism" (art + activism), all explore topics like feminism and anti-racism. "I try to break these injustices," she said, "When I make my art it's for me, to show what's affecting me on the inside. I like that I can reach other people and they are reflecting, it's a precious process."
As for her most recent works focused on rainbow stretch marks and menstruation, she aims to show that "all bodies are equally valuable." She continued, "It's very important to me that people are conscious that we are all different, that our bodies are different, but everyone has beauty and their own essence. We need to fight against the aesthetic pressure and accept once and for all that we are different and in diversity, there is richness."
Read on to see some of Cinta's beautiful artwork, and let her beautiful work encourage you to love what makes you unique.

This Is the Best Way to Cook Chicken Breasts, According to a MasterChef Champ
As a frugal 20-something living on my own in the Big Apple, I'm practically the poster child for "ballin' on a budget" - especially when it comes to grocery shopping. While picking out my weekly staples, I usually just grab whichever meats are most affordable for the sake of giving my wallet a break, without really thinking twice about the quality (or lack thereof). But after a year of penny-pinching, I may officially be changing my ways to splurge a bit more on my most common expense: chicken.
So what's the source of said sudden change of heart (and budget allocation)? While recently browsing the internet, I came across the fact that chef Gary Maclean, a winner of MasterChef's UK series, did a Reddit AMA, and I couldn't resist diving in to hear his juicy tidbits about the show and all things food-related. During the "Ask Me Anything" conversation, one user asked the Scottish chef for advice on cooking "restaurant quality, moist" chicken breasts at home, and his answer was pretty eye opening.
First, he advised to "buy the best chicken possible" and avoid "cheap chicken," which is "full of water and will be poor even if cooked properly." Well, it looks like I've been scraping by with mediocre-at-best dinners since moving to New York . . . that's certainly enough to convince me to cut back on other food expenses so I can spend a tad more on higher-quality chicken for my meals.
But Maclean didn't stop there, as he went on to reveal a few additional tips for buying and cooking the best chicken ever. "Always buy chicken breasts with the skin on; this will help keep the moisture in," he wrote. "Pan fry in a very hot pan skin side down until golden, turn over on the non skin side for a few minutes. Finish in a hot oven 200 degrees Celsius (392 degrees Fahrenheit) and cook until it reaches 73-75 degrees Celsius (163-167 degrees Fahrenheit) allow to rest before cutting." Who knew the key to perfecting your chicken breasts was cooking them on both the stovetop and in the oven? Pure genius!
As for marinating, Maclean said doing so 24 hours in advance, rather than just one hour, makes a "huge difference." But if you're planning to start prepping your chicken that far ahead of cooking time, he suggested avoiding citrus and salt, instead opting for "spices, hard herbs, and a little good oil."

Cover Your Tree in Champagne Ornaments, Because That's What the Holidays Are All About
Maybe it's your annoying little cousin asking you to teach her how to do a cat eye or that inevitable political argument at the dinner table, but whether you're commiserating or celebrating, the holidays are about popping Champagne. Instead of decking the halls with festive Disney ornaments or sweet pom-pom decorations, this Sass & Belle Prosecco Bottle Holidays Bauble ($11) gets right to business . . . liquid business.
Unfortunately, there's no Champagne in the plastic ornaments, but pro tip: there's *probably* an extra bottle hidden in your family coat closet that reads "break in case of emergency." If your family is anything like mine, a holiday dinner definitely calls for that emergency. The package, which is sold online at ASOS, comes with two ornaments, and it's begging you to just pop it open.
String this alongside some adorable wine glass ornaments and you've got yourself a very merry Christmas! But if you're really trying to get in the creative liquid spirit, boozy ornaments from The Lakes Distillery in the UK are filled with actual vodka, gin, and whiskey (separately, of course), and they might even convince you to teach your cousin about said eyeliner style. Until then, you can find us covering our trees in Champagne bottle ornaments with one hand and holding a glass of the real stuff in the other!
