Who Is the Night King? The White Walkers' Leader Could Be One of These 4 People

The biggest threat in the world of Game of Thrones is the Night King, and his power is only growing. Now that he has his very own dragon and an ever-expanding army of the dead, the leader of the White Walkers is poised to devastate Westeros if Jon, Daenerys, Cersei, and the rest of the disparate cast of human characters refuse to band together. Despite only knowing who their common enemy is in the vaguest sense, Jon and his allies understand the danger their world is in. However, the identity of the Night King remains a mystery. Season six does show the First Man whom the Children of the Forest weaponized to become the first White Walker, but is he the same guy who is so hellbent on conquering Westeros now? Probably, but that shouldn't stop fans from theorizing about who exactly the Night King is and whether or not he could be someone that we already know.

The Surprising Thing That Really Helped Reduce My Anxiety and Stress Levels

I've always been prone to worrying and overthinking things, but during the first half of 2017, I began suffering the worst anxiety I've ever experienced. Unlike previous episodes (which usually involved stuff like making people let me out of the car on a road trip so I could get the train home to check I hadn't left the iron on), this time the anxiety was far more personal. I would lie awake for hours dissecting the day, worrying about tiny things I'd done or said, finding myself in a spiral of shame for no real reason. This wasn't just normal self-awareness (I know I'm not perfect); it was uncontrollable navel-gazing. And it definitely wasn't doing my any good.

Then two things happened. Firstly, I went on holiday, and I'm sure that did something to temporarily calm my overactive grey matter. But there was something else that I think has had an incredible effect on my anxiety levels, and that happened two months ago when a very sassy tortoiseshell cat called Mina moved in. Gratuitous photo, because the internet is for cats.

I didn't know until I'd spent a few weeks with Mina how much the presence of a feline friend can help with anxiety and stress. There's a reason animals sometimes get prescribed for emotional support, and I'm not alone in noticing the benefits. Aside from the obvious - having something cute and cuddly to play with is awesome and keeps your mind off other stuff - spending time with a cat boosts serotonin levels in the body. Battersea Cats Home should have put that on the adoption page: "Mina: scientifically proven to increase your happiness!"

There's also research to suggest cats can stimulate the release of oxytocin (a chemical that's perhaps best known for its role during and after childbirth, bonding new mothers and their babies). No wonder I was smitten within hours. I was also blown away with how sensitive Mina seems to be to the moods and needs of her human companions. She's not a lap cat (trust me, I've tried), but she will seek me out and sit next to me if I'm in the house alone, almost as if she knows I need the companionship. The soothing sound of her contented purr as I stroke her relaxes me instantly. Thinking about her (and trust me, I do so constantly) stops me from (over)thinking about myself too much, but thankfully she's also fairly independent and self-sufficient so I don't flick over to "worry" mode the moment she waddles out the cat flap.

All this came as a huge surprise to me. I didn't consider myself a pet person at all. I didn't get what all the fuss was about when my friends posted dozens of photos of their kittens on Facebook or colleagues brought their dogs into work. I cringed when people signed Christmas cards "Love Bob, Jane, and Fluffy". I've never been responsible for anything larger than a hamster before. My husband was the one who wanted a cat and I went along with it mostly because I knew how much it meant to him. But within hours of bringing her home, I realized what a wonderful addition to the family she was going to be, and how much she was going to help me to calm down. I give all the cat fans in my life full authority to say "I told you so".

Since Mina's been in my life, my anxiety levels have dropped to almost nothing. I am back to my "normal" levels of self-obsession and worry: probably more than most people, but at least I'm able to sleep at night.

That is, until the dawn chorus of hungry meowing begins!

We Got a Trainer to Share Her Weekly Grocery List and Clean-Eating Tips

Eating clean can be daunting at first. Not only are there big changes to your lifestyle and habits, but it can take a toll on your budget - especially if you don't know what you're doing. Don't worry, we called on an expert to help you navigate.

Australian trainer Emily Skye has been eating clean for years, and knows exactly how to shop when you're a little more strapped for cash. She's here to share her top six money-saving, clean-eating tips and her grocery list.

"There is a misconception that healthy food is expensive, but if you shop smart and in the right places, a shopping list full of healthy foods won't break the bank."

"When doing your weekly shop, it's important to try to plan as best you can what meals you are going to eat for the week," said Emily. "Personally there are probably about half a dozen 'staple' meals that I like to rotate during the week. I've been living a healthy lifestyle long enough to know the types of meals I like to eat are not only good for me, but they are also providing me with all the daily nutrition my body requires."

It can take a while to figure out what your staple meals are, but to get you started, Emily has some budgeting advice that'll keep your body and wallet happy - from there, you can try new recipes and figure out what works for you. It starts with strategic grocery shopping. "There are some simple strategies you can put into place that will make your weekly shop easy to do as well as being very affordable," she said.

And trust us, you're not alone if you're worried about your budget. "This is probably the biggest concern I hear from ladies when they decide to change their diet to a healthy one," said Emily. "There is a misconception that healthy food is expensive, but if you shop smart and in the right places, a shopping list full of healthy foods won't break the bank."

The Tips

  1. Try to shop local. "Shopping in the big supermarket chains can be a very expensive experience. I live in Australia and the healthy food wave has really taken off here. Big business is really taking advantage of this trend and they are charging their customers accordingly. I find that when I shop at the local green grocer or the local farmers market, I can find some real bargains. Another thing I also find is the produce is more often than not fresher as it's sourced and grown locally."
  2. Look for items on special or sale. "This is something that I do all the time! Particularly when it comes to food that is approaching its 'best by' date. Supermarkets will often put items on sale that are approaching this date. As long as you plan on eating whatever it is on sale soon, you can really save on your total shopping bill."
  3. Shop with a plan to avoid waste. "This may sound like a simple tip, but you'd be amazed at how many people throw away perfectly good food that has gone bad because they didn't plan their weekly shop well enough. Certain foods are only going to last a few days, so try to use those foods quickly. I'm not suggesting you need to go absolutely crazy and have everything planned to the smallest detail, but try to have some sort of idea what meals you're going to have, when you're going to have them, and what ingredients you need. For example, if I were to plan my weekly shopping list and I wanted to include two chicken dinners, I would buy 400 grams of chicken breast or thigh and just enough salad and sweet potato to go with those two meals. If I need a bit more, I can just pop into the shop and buy some extra. Better to have to go out and buy more than to throw out food that has gone bad."
  4. Buy generic-brand foods. "You would be surprised at how many generic-brand food companies are making foods as good as, if not better than, their big brand competitors. The great benefit of buying generic brands will be apparent when you pay for your shopping at the checkout. Generic brands are a great deal cheaper than their big brand counterparts. I would honestly say half of my weekly shop is generic-brand foods."
  5. Never shop when you're hungry. "This might sound like common sense, but I can tell you from experience that shopping when hungry can be the worst if you're trying to stick to a budget or healthy eating. Things that you wouldn't otherwise buy will almost always find their way into your shopping cart if you're shopping with a grumbly tummy."
  6. Buy fresh fruit and vegetables that are in season. "A lot of the time if a particular recipe calls for a specific vegetable, you can usually substitute it for another vegetable that is cheaper due to it being in season. Or, just plan your meals around the food that is in season."

The Grocery List

"Here's what my weekly shop looks like," said Emily. She eats a well-rounded diet and has a lot of staples at home, but these are the foods she tends to replace weekly - and go through a lot of! She also included some money-saving and nutrition tips to keep you healthy and on budget.

Meat

  • Chicken Thigh. "I'm a big fan of chicken thigh. It's a cheaper cut of meat, but in my opinion it's a lot tastier."
  • White fish. "Although salmon is great for you, it can get pretty expensive. Fish is one of those particular things that, depending on the country you live in, the availability of it can change greatly. In Australia, whiting or dory is a good choice. In the USA, halibut is a good choice."

Nuts

  • Almonds. "I like to buy a 500g bag of almonds to snack on during the week."
  • Pine Nuts. "I'll buy a small bag of pine nuts that I'll put into the spinach salads I make with my main meals."
  • Pumpkin Seeds. "I also love adding these to salads along with pine nuts."

Berries

  • Frozen Strawberries and Blueberries. "I buy a bag of generic-brand frozen strawberries and blueberries that I put into a blender with my protein powder each day. A bag of each will generally last me for the week."

Vegetables

  • Sweet Potato or Pumpkin
  • Zucchini
  • Baby Spinach
  • Watercress
  • Tomato
  • Asparagus
  • Carrot
  • Garlic

Sauces and Spices

  • Coconut Amino Seasoning. "This sauce is an absolute lifesaver. I'll generally include coconut amino seasoning with a chicken meal I make to add flavor to the meal. Chicken by itself can sometimes be hard to eat and rather flavorless and coconut amino seasoning changes that!"
  • Pink Himalayan Salt. "This salt is great because it goes with pretty much everything and is a much better choice than regular table salt. Himalayan salt contains the same 84 trace minerals and elements that are found in our body. When you consume Himalayan salt, you're actually consuming less salt than table salt because the pieces are larger and it's less refined."

Other Items

  • Rice Cakes. "These are great for a snack. Sliced tomato and ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, or avocado go perfectly on a rice cake and really hit the spot if you're feeling a little hungry."

MORE Lisa Frank Makeup Is Coming - and It's All Under $8!

Heads up: you can now make your eighth-grade self very, very jealous. Just take a look at this Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls Collaboration that's here to make your vanity '90s fabulous again. Back in July, the affordable brand released $5 makeup brushes in collaboration with Ms. Frank.

The brand just announced that it's rolling out two more products, and the great news is you can use the existing brushes to apply these new products. And you can still afford the Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls collection on your preteen budget, because both releases cost less than $10.

Read on to see what rainbow-cheetah-printed gifts Glamour Dolls will release on Nov. 11. But be sure to set a calendar alert, preferably to a Spice Girls song, because back in July, those makeup brushes sold out in less than 24 hours! (The brand did eventually restock the tools.)

Halloween: Jamie Lee Curtis Is Back, and More Bloody Good Details About the Reboot

Halloween 2018 just got kicked up a notch.

It was recently announced that Jamie Lee Curtis will be reprising the iconic role of Laurie Strode in Halloween, another reboot of the beloved horror franchise due out on Oct. 19, 2018. It's an exciting reveal for one of the first-ever scream queens because truly nothing is scarier than watching her fend off her psychotic, murderous, William Shatner-mask-wearing younger brother with only a wire hanger in the 1978 original. Then again, doesn't Laurie get stabbed by her deranged sibling and thrown to her death in the franchise's eighth movie, Halloween: Resurrection?

According to John Carpenter, who's on board as an executive producer and creative consultant, the reboot will ignore everything after the original film. "It's kind of a . . . I don't know how to describe it. It's almost an alternative reality," he explained to Stereo Gum. "It picks up after the first one and it pretends that none of the others were made. It's gonna be fun. There's a really talented director and it was well-written. I'm impressed."

Regardless of how they handle the storyline, the horror film sees Laurie facing down Michael in one final, bloody confrontation. Curtis is definitely attached as Laurie, and Judy Greer is reportedly in talks to play her daughter, Karen Strode. Jason Blum, of Get Out and Paranormal Activity fame, is also on board as a producer, while David Gordon Green and Danny McBride are in charge of the script (Green is also directing).

In other words? Best. Halloween. EVER.

Your BFF Will Lose It Over These 18 Rose Gold Beauty Gifts

At first we thought rose gold was just a passing trend, but now we realize that it's here to stay. Beauty girls know that it's a flattering color for a variety of skin tones, plus the color is totally Instagram-worthy. The metallic blush hue is pretty both as makeup and on packaging, so we rounded up our favorite products in one place. These items make for great gifts, so treat your BFF (or yourself) to a few picks for the holidays. They deserve a coveted spot atop anyone's vanity.

This Rose Quartz Highlighter Is the Prettiest Shade We've Ever Seen

A moment of silence, please, for all the other highlighter shades because we've found our now-favorite hue of all time: rose quartz. The shade, a cooler-toned cousin of rose gold, comes by way of Kora Organics, the beauty line created by model Miranda Kerr.

When we first spotted the Rose Quartz Luminizer ($28) on Instagram, the cream highlighter reminded us of everyone's favorite trendy shade, millennial pink. Upon closer inspection, we saw the soft hue is more multidimensional with silvery, frosty layers of color. Plus, it's packaged in the prettiest, gold-capped pot.

Beyond being aesthetically pleasing, the highlighter also stands out because it might as well double as skin care - it contains shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba seed oil, and sunflower seed oil. Skin gets both an immediate glow on the surface from makeup and a glow from the inside-out with organic ingredients.

While Kora is best known for its skincare products, this launch marks the brand's first venture into makeup. The rose quartz highlighter is the only product listed in the new "Natural Beauty" section on Kora's site, so there's likely more cosmetics to come. If they're anything like this highlighter beauty, we can't wait.

Ahead, see more photos of the rose quartz highlighter because it's so gosh darn pretty.

Here's What - and When - to Eat Before Working Out

When it comes to working out, it's important to feel energized, but it's not always as simple as grabbing a snack on your way out the door. Eating too close to exercise is a recipe for discomfort, but heading to the gym hungry isn't ideal either.

To learn how to maximize the potential of a workout, I spoke with nutritionist Heidi Skolnik, MS, CDN, FACSM, and author of Nutrient Timing for Peak Performance ($20) to find out what to eat and when before heading to the gym.

No one would blame you if you never wanted to create a gift basket on your own. DIY gift baskets are pretty intimidating, since you have to find the right pieces that fit perfectly together. But the truth is, the process is much simpler than you think, and we have the proof.

In a special collaboration, Abby Larson, the editor and founder of Style Me Pretty, worked with HomeGoods to curate gorgeous gift baskets that you can easily re-create. There's one for the entertainer in your life, one for the baker, and one for the cocktail-lover, and they're equally as impressive. 6- and 7-Year-Olds Couldn't Solve This Math Test Question, and We're Not Surprised

The internet is having a field day figuring out what the real answer is to a simple math problem. A Twitter user named Louise Bloxham shared a math problem from a Year 2 (equivalent to the first grade in the US) workbook. The tweet and account are now gone but the problem asked, "There were some people on a train. 19 people get off the train at the first stop. 17 people get on the train. Now there are 63 people on the train. How many people were on the train to begin with?"

If you try solving it yourself, you'll probably get this setup: X - 19 + 17 = 63. All you have to do is solve for x, which gives you 65 as the answer:

But if you look further into the comments, users start arguing that the answer is 46, not 65.

Other commentators became philosophical and said that the math problem fails to factor in the train driver and inspector:

The situation apparently became too much for one person, who said that everyone was "looking at it algebraically for proof purposes," when it was really just a simple equation.

Although the math question has stumped some parents and young children, the main concern here is not whether or not it can be solved, but if 6- and 7-year-olds should've been asked it. That answer to that question is simple: if there's this much debate about it with adults, then it's not suitable for children.

Clear Your Calendars, Because the Season 2 Premiere Date For American Crime Story Is Here

Image Source: Getty / Michel Arnaud, Dimitrios Kambouris

Season two of American Crime Story, titled The Assassination of Gianni Versace, finally has a premiere date. The new episodes, which will focus on the tragic murder of the iconic fashion designer, were originally slated for season three, preceded by a season focusing on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina starring Dennis Quaid and Annette Bening. Due to production schedules, the two were soon swapped, and many expected season two not to arrive on FX until 2019. Fortunately, for American Crime Story fans, the premiere date is much sooner than we thought: Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018, at 10 p.m. ET.

The story centers on Versace's 1997 murder, and will feature a number of people from his personal life, including sister Donatella Versace. After returning from a morning walk, the 50-year-old was shot twice on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion by serial killer Andrew Cunanan and died from his wounds. Cunanan wasn't caught by police but killed himself nine days later (with the same gun, no less) while on a houseboat in Miami. Edgar Ramirez is on board to play Gianni, while Penélope Cruz will appear as Donatella, Glee's Darren Criss as Andrew Cunanan, and Ricky Martin as Gianni's partner, Antonio D'Amico. Watch the first teaser for season two ahead.

After Waving to the Same Kids Every Week, 2 Garbage Men Received a Heartbreaking Note

Thursdays were a very special day for the Evenson family because it was the day the garbage men came, but once their 3-year-old daughter Rosie was diagnosed with cancer, their schedules inevitably changed. Over the last year or so, Angie Evenson's three daughters gathered by the window every Thursday and waited for the garbage men to come by to wave hello, and Brandon Olsen and Taylor Fritz eagerly waved back to the girls.

But in November of last year, the men received a note from the family that broke their hearts. The note explained that Rosie had been diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer, and though some of her treatments had been scheduled on Thursdays, the family hadn't forgotten about them.

Olsen was so upset when he read the letter that he knew he had to do something to help. With three children of his own, he couldn't help but sympathize with the Evenson family. "This family forever changed my life - I read the note and was in tears," Olsen told Today. "Being a father, it's scary to think, 'What if it were me in that situation?'"

Olsen and Fritz approached their boss at Hometown Sanitation and asked if they could offer the family one of the employee benefits they receive - free trash pick-up service for a year - and the company delivered a letter to the Evenson family, seen below.

"Please accept our gift of free garbage service for you through the end of 2017," the note read. "We know that expenses will add up as you make trips for this needed treatment, and hope that not having this one bill to deal with helps, even if just a little. As parents ourselves, we can only imagine what this is like for you. We want to wish you the best of luck as you fight on and battle through. Best wishes for a successful treatment and recovery. Stay strong, fight hard, stick together."

The letter and kind gift are helping the Evenson family smile and be thankful during such a hard time. The family has started a GoFundMe page to further help with Rosie's treatment expenses.

Mindhunter Doesn't Even Show the Tip of the Iceberg When It Comes to the Co-Ed Killer

One of the most interesting relationships on Mindhunter, Netflix's new psychological thriller, is the one between FBI special agent Holden Ford and incarcerated serial killer Edmund Kemper III (or "sequence killer," as Ford calls him before the term "serial killer" came to be the common vernacular). Interviewing Kemper is the driving force behind Ford's and, later, his partner Bill Tench's push to have the FBI study known serial killers to try to "figure out how crazy thinks."

While Ford and Tench are fictional characters based on real-life FBI agents, Kemper is 100 percent a real historical figure. The famed murderer, known as "the Co-Ed Killer," was close with his father and took his parents' divorce extremely hard, as it forced him to be raised by his alcoholic, abusive mother. It was a year later that his killing fetish began, when he killed the family cat at age 10. He would later kill another family cat and then graduated to killing his paternal grandparents at age 15.

When he turned himself in, he told authorities that he just wanted to see what it felt like to kill Grandma, then killed his grandfather so that he wouldn't have to see his wife dead. After six years in the mental ward of a state hospital, Kemper was released. He would go on to kill six young women (five of them college students; hence, his nickname "the Co-Ed Killer") and then his mother and his mother's best friend. Kemper also committed necrophilia with the dead bodies before dismembering them and disposing of the remains.

After the murder of his mother and her friend, Kemper confessed to local law enforcement and was arrested, when he then confessed to the other murders. He was sentenced to eight life sentences, since capital punishment was temporarily suspended in California at the time of his trial. He's still being held at the California Medical Facility in Vacaville, CA.

John E. Douglas, the real-life profiler whom Jonathan Groff's Mindhunter character is based on, interviewed Kemper many times, calling him one of the "brightest" inmates he had ever spoken with and providing a rare insight into violent crimes and the people who perpetrate them. Kemper has said the reason he participated in the interviews is because he hoped they would help someone who has the kind of rage he had but who hasn't resorted to murder yet . . . because the rage and the murder are hard to stop once they start.

On Mindhunter, Kemper is portrayed by actor Cameron Britton, who does an outstanding job of conveying how intelligent, high-functioning, and yet also psychotic Kemper was. And if you think his presence is imposing on the show, keep in mind that Britton is "only" 6'5". The real Kemper stands 6'9" and weighed over 250 pounds.

Of playing Kemper, Britton wrote in a Facebook post: "Due to the intensive nature of the project, I learned more about acting this year than any other in my life." He also calls his role in the show a story that is stranger than fiction.

How I Kicked My 20-Year-Long Nail-Biting Habit For Good

"I feel sorry for your fingers." Those were the six words that came out of the woman's mouth when she took my hands to try and bless them with a manicure for my wedding. Can I get an ouch?

As painful as that sentence was to take in - especially so close to my big day - truth be told, it was just what I needed to hear to recognize how out of control my nail-biting habit had become. See, I've been a nail-biter for 20-some long years. Looking back, I can't recall how this grotesque, compulsive habit even started, but it's one that has followed me well into adulthood.

It's embarrassing, to say the least - and honestly, I don't think many people realized how much the constant urge to pick, pull, or bite at my fingernails consumed me. But really, that was my goal, because every time I'd shred my cuticles to the point where they'd be dripping with blood - gross, I know - I'd hide each wounded finger so no one would notice. Because what sane person nips at their nail (and the skin around it) until red liquid oozes out, right? To make matters worse, I would feel strangely satisfied each time this happened.

If you are also a chronic nail-biter, I'm hoping you can relate. (By hoping, what I really mean is: please tell me you've experienced similar scenarios so I don't feel too crazy.) And if by chance you are nodding your head in agreement, please know that I, too, feel your pain. What's more? I've got good news for you.

After years of searching high and low for an effective nail-biting solution - and literally trying every single program under the sun - I finally found a method that actually worked. Although it was one of the hardest challenges I've endured, I'm confident that if I can nip this nasty habit in the bud, anyone can.

So if you're ready to quit biting your nails once and for all - and, let's be real, who isn't? - your guide to beautiful hands awaits ahead!

22 Gifts That Are Perfect For an INFJ Personality Type

INFJs are complicated, creative, and caring. This Myers Briggs personality has many conflicting attributes, which can make getting them the perfect gift tough. As an INFJ myself, I can vouch for these 22 gifts that target specific qualities of the rare type, from our love of alone time to our desire to pursue passions and help others. We also need reminders to practice self-care on a regular basis, since we tend to get a little bit wrapped up in our grand plans. Check out these hand-picked items that will inspire you to get the INFJ in your life a present they won't forget.

What You Need to Know About the Notorious INFJ "Door Slam"

For INFJ's, it's all or nothing. If pushed to our limits, there's no coming back, and there's no "happy medium" we can return to. Luckily for everyone else, it takes a lot for us to get to that point, but when you've let us down or hurt us one too many times, you can expect to feel the full wrath of the INFJ "door slam."

Every Myers Briggs personality type has their own way of cutting toxic people out of their lives, but no method is quite as final (and drastic) as an INFJ's. The INFJ door slam is a defense mechanism they use to protect themselves against harmful people and relationships. INFJs are naturally good at getting people to open up to them; they skip the small talk and get to the heart of the matter with the people they meet and connect to. Gaining an INFJ's trust is a major accomplishment, and breaking that trust is seen as the ultimate betrayal. INFJs usually don't door slam because of hurt pride or a superficial slight; they eliminate narcissists, people who are selfish, abusive, those who lie or create unnecessary drama, manipulators, or who don't bring positivity and happiness to the INFJ's life.

"When we (hypothetically) slam the door on a person, it's normally the last thing on our list. We know how terrible slamming the door is, but if we feel like we are vulnerable or severally hurt, which is very hard to reach this stage, the door slam is our ultimate weapon," says Quora user and INFJ Sarah Lane.

Because INFJs let so few people in (and they hate feeling vulnerable!), and because they care so deeply about the ones they do allow themselves to get close to, feeling hurt can cause them to reveal a side they seldom let people see.

Is the INFJ Door Slam Really a Bad Thing?

"Slamming the door" is the last thing an INFJ wants to do, but it can actually be a healthy way of dealing with a toxic relationship, because it means protecting themselves from the potential for any future hurt or conflict by cutting out the person entirely. INFJs will do everything they can to salvage a relationship, to help a person out, and to give them a second chance. This caring nature can mean that they are taken advantage of, so the door slam can be a crucial action that allows an INFJ to truly and finally move on for good.

It's not necessarily dramatic the way they do it either; sometimes a door slam just means the INFJ disappears from someone's life quietly. There isn't always a final confrontation or fall out. The person being shut out will get plenty of warnings before it actually happens, too - though because INFJs are extremely intuitive and can read people easily, they sometimes forget that others can't always do the same, and may not take their hints. Their final door slam may be subtle, but it's nevertheless a strong gesture. Try as they may, it's unlikely that a person will be let back in and trusted once the door is slammed, at least not in the same way they were before.

From the perspective of other personality types, the door slam can seem very extreme, but for the INFJ, it gives them a sense of peace and finality that they are unable to achieve otherwise, which can be essential to their mental health and happiness. This personality type doesn't cut people off casually; it's done after much effort, time, and attempts at alternative solutions.

To avoid the dreaded door slam, it's pretty simple: be kind, honest, respectful, and loyal (if that loyalty is well-deserved, of course). A self-aware and logical INFJ will not slam the door prematurely, so know that if you get door slammed by an INFJ, chances are you may have really deserved it.

11 Images That Only True Introverts Will Relate To

If you can't deal with crowds, prefer time with your pet over time with actual people, and find peace in the quiet of a familiar space (alone), then you might be an introvert. I Found the Perfect Mascara For Anyone Scared to Use an Eyelash Curler

I am incapable of using an eyelash curler. Believe me, I've tried: I curled my eyelashes every day for an entire year to try to master the skill, and I still never got it right. I know my lashes can be curled. I've seen other people do it, and I know what a difference it makes. But ultimately, my lack of fine motor skills overcame my desire for perfect lashes, and I gave up.

I am lucky to have long lashes that show a lot of promise. Because they are fairly straight, the length isn't as noticeable when my lashes are sticking straight out. But coax them upward and suddenly they are the kind of lashes people notice.

However, without an eyelash curler, I need my mascara to do all of the curling, lengthening, and separating for me while also not looking clumpy - which is a tall order. Over the years, I have tried mascara after mascara that friends and POPSUGAR editors have raved about, only to be disappointed. I ask near-strangers what magical mascara they are wearing, but the magic never works on me.

Then I tried Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara ($23) and I knew immediately that my search was over. Read on to learn why I'm obsessed with Stila Huge.

30 Tiny, Chic Wrist Tattoos That Are Better Than a Bracelet

If you truly want to wear your heart on your sleeve, then the wrist should be the canvas for your next tattoo. A flat plane fairly easy to tattoo, the wrist is popular for first-timers and small designs or sayings. While the wrist is generally a more visible tattoo spot than, say, the ribs or back, this placement allows for easy coverage with foundations or bracelets - making it an ideal choice for those who might be slightly tentative to get inked in a more prominent location. Conversely, we're also partial to the wrist because of its visibility: the conspicuousness of this spot is perfect for tattoos meant to serve as a source of inspiration, support, or reminder.

But don't just take our word for it - check out these gorgeous pieces of wrist ink to get some serious tattoo inspiration.

Ashley Fought Stress-Induced Weight Gain and Lost 95 Pounds in 11 Months

Stress caused Ashley Witter's weight to reach an unhealthy range, and it wasn't until she got a tip from a family member that she realized she needed to get help.

Ashley: Before

After enduring some difficult life changes and dealing with a high-stress job, she turned to food as a comfort. Her aunt told her about a weight-loss treatment center called Structure House, where Ashley was able to lose almost 100 pounds in less than a year. But to her, it was less about pounds lost and more about how she felt - she wanted the "old Ashley" back. She got what she hoped for, and then some. It took a lot of work, but Ashley quit her job, took matters into her own hands, and found happiness and health in the process.

POPSUGAR: What made you decide to start your weight-loss journey?

Ashley Witter: I hit my breaking point in my high-level corporate job working numerous hours, not eating throughout the day, and not sleeping at night. I was turning to food, wine, cheese, and whatever I could find late at night. My energy level had depleted, and I had gained close to 40 pounds in a year and couldn't do it anymore. I was sick, so I finally decided enough was enough and put in my resignation at my job. I had to find my old self again and get better. That's when my family suggested I go to Structure House.

PS: What do you think contributed to your weight gain?

AW: STRESS! The first thing I was taught when I went to Structure House was why we overeat as humans. The three reasons are stress, boredom, and habit. I was stressed all the time. My cortisol levels were off the grid, and my metabolism was suffering. I was skipping meals and not eating the "right" foods. I was tired, had low energy, and wasn't getting the physical activity that I used to. Gradually, over the course of probably four years, I continued to gain more and more. The more stressed out I got, the more weight I packed on.

PS: What drew you to Structure House specifically?

AW: I chose Structure House because my aunt had been twice and told me about what a wonderful and safe place it was. I didn't think I had a problem - denial at its best - but I knew I needed help. My family tried to kindly tell me I had a weight problem and that they were worried, but I didn't want to listen. I felt like, "This was my life and these are the cards I was dealt." Once I hit my breaking point, I knew that I needed to go to Structure House and get help. My family was fully supportive of my decision and helped me along the way.

PS: Had you tried other methods of weight loss before Structure House?

AW: Unlike others, I never really struggled with my weight until the past four or five years. Bad breakups, high-level corporate jobs, and simply life itself began to take a toll on me. I was always very active, played sports, and loved the outdoors, but yes, I tried some weight-loss methods such as powdered shakes, staying away from gluten, quick-fix type of things. Besides losing some immediate water weight, none of these diets ever worked or were something that could be maintained. Plus, when I cut my portions too much, I would hardly have the energy to work out. I was doing it all wrong.

"The more stressed out I got, the more weight I packed on."

PS: What's your favorite way to work out?

AW: Again, I have always loved sports my entire life and even when I was heavier I kept pushing to be active. I love backpacking, hiking, kayaking, snow skiing - pretty much anything outdoors. I have found in the past year that I really love boot camps and circuit training.

Ashley: After

PS: What's your weekly exercise schedule?

AW: I was taught by Structure House to get at least 150 minutes of cardiovascular exercise a week. I do just that. I mix my workouts between cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises. I hit the gym maybe three times a week as well as doing a group bootcamp class, running on the treadmill, or hitting the weights doing arm/leg workouts and repetitions. I love yoga, so I try to do a class or so a week of hot yoga. I wear a Fitbit and try every day to get at least 10,000 steps a day. That means when I am at work, I get up and move - this is key. On the weekends I am hiking, kayaking, or running. I also allow my body to recover, so I believe in letting your body have rest days as well.

PS: How do you keep workouts exciting?

AW: I am all about changing it up and keeping it exciting. I love to exercise in general, so I find hiking and backpacking are my favorite activities. You can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors and not even realize sometimes that you are getting a great workout. I have also had fun running 5Ks with my boyfriend. He is active as well so we help keep each other accountable, while having fun at the same time.

PS: How much weight have you lost?

AW: Since my stay at Structure House in October 2015, I have lost 95 pounds in 11 months and have maintained that weight. My weight has plateaued, so now I am more focused on building lean body mass.

PS: What was the first big difference, other than the number on the scale, that really made you feel proud and excited?

AW: For me, honestly, it wasn't really about the pounds lost, but more that I felt so much better. I came back to life again, and my energy was back. I found the old "Ashley" again, and that is what made me so proud. I didn't ever think that would be possible.

PS: How do you track your weight loss?

AW: Structure House gave us a diary to record our food. When I left the facility, I continued to use my diary and maintain my 1,400-calorie intake. Every time I finished a book, I would call Structure House and have them send me a new one. I don't use my diary much anymore because I have a pretty good hold on what I am taking in terms of calories, but if I ever feel like I am slipping, I start recording again. It was a great way to hold me accountable for what I was eating.

PS: What's a typical day of meals and snacks?

AW: I follow myplate.com pretty much for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I make sure at every meal that I have a protein, plenty of veggies, fruit, a dairy, and carbs. I eat nutrient-dense food that keeps me full. I have eliminated as much salt as possible and make healthy choices. I am pretty consistent on what I eat - lots of veggies (I love roasted brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes), lean meat, berries, Greek yogurt, and 100-percent whole-wheat options. I stay away from processed foods as much as possible. I read labels to make sure foods are low in trans and saturated fat and low in sugar and sodium. When I snack, I usually have a Kind bar or something simple made with whole ingredients.

Ashley: Before and After

PS: Do you count calories?

AW: Even though I have lost 95 pounds, I am still mindful of the calories that I am taking in. I am mindful and aware, and that is what has helped me be successful in my journey. Most people do not even realize the amount of calories they are taking in. So yes, I do keep track. I stick between 1,400-1,500 calories per day of nutrient-dense foods. If I eat something that is not as healthy, I am aware and only eat a little. Moderation is key in weight loss. Making change takes time, so having a treat every now and then is not a bad thing.

PS: What are the healthy staples that are always in your fridge?

AW: I eat egg-white omelets almost every morning, so I stock my fridge with good veggies and fruit. I buy a lot of chicken and lean meats so I have a protein. I buy a lot of 100-percent whole-wheat sandwich thins and wraps. I love avocados and salsa. I pretty much mirror my food choices based off of what was cooked for me at Structure House.

PS: How do you strategize for meals out?

AW: Again, I am pretty boring, so I eat the same thing a lot. I am pretty consistent with my meals, so it hardly seems like work anymore. When I go out to eat, I research the restaurant first to figure out the healthy options I can choose from. I love Longhorns because they have a calorie counter for all the food. I can have an incredible meal for 430 calories.

"It wasn't really about the pounds lost . . . I came back to life again and my energy was back. I found the old Ashley."

PS: Do you use a fitness tracker? Which one, and how do you think it helped you?

AW: I use a Fitbit. I have bought one for all my family members as well. It has helped me a lot, plus it is a great thing for everyone. I love that Fitbit allows you to compete against each other. My dad is now super competitive with my brother and me. It's a win for everyone. Also, I know when my steps are down that it is time to move.

PS: What role did Structure House play in your journey? Would you recommend it?

AW: Structure House changed my life! I have told this to all the staff: I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. They gave me the tools to regain my life back. Not only am I back to my old self, but I have never felt better. I now work at a job I love, and I got asked to teach the Health Coaching certificate program at an accredited university in Georgia. My work lets me run weight-loss challenges, and I am creating my own health coaching website to help others. I met an incredible man, and I just couldn't be happier. I have realized that you have to love yourself before you can love others. I can't thank Structure House enough.

PS: What advice do you have for anyone starting out on a weight-loss journey?

AW: Take a leap of faith and make yourself happy. You have one life to live, and make it the best it can be. There is no reason to go through life unhappy and unhealthy. We are all in charge of our own destiny, so why not make this life the best it can be? Also, you are not alone. So many people struggle with weight issues, but there is hope - I promise.

20 Ways to Feel Happy (Almost) Instantly

Being happy may just be the single most important thing you can do for your health, making it just as necessary as diet and physical activity. If you aren't feeling like yourself lately, not to worry. Knowing that times are stressful and the unexpected often occurs, here are ways to help you get back to happiness almost instantly.

  1. Play a game (not on your phone): Get your family together, invite some friends over, and have a game night. Not only will you be surrounded by good company, but friendly competition usually guarantees a good time and a good laugh.
  2. Smile: When in doubt, smile! Not only is it contagious, but smiling also helps relieve stress, boost your mood, and release endorphins.
  3. Go for a walk: If something isn't going well at work or home, step outside and take a walk. It doesn't have to be long, but a quick stroll will help you get fresh air and clear your mind.
  4. Call a friend: Don't text; dial! Calling a close friend is a great way to talk over your worries and get advice from someone you trust.
  5. Try something new: Stop your rut by switching things up. Try a new gym class or restaurant, or take a new route to work in the morning.
  6. Unplug: Calm your mind by turning off your tech and escaping social media for a minute or two.
  7. Sing (out loud!): We give you permission to sing in the shower, car, anywhere. We promise you'll feel better - with or without a record deal.
  8. Volunteer: Nothing beats the feeling of helping others. Make a difference and meet a few friends in the process by checking out VolunteerMatch.
  9. Make a gratitude list: It's often easy to focus on the negative or those things you don't have. Quickly boost your mood by jotting down the things you are grateful for, both big and small.
  10. Eat up: Start cooking those fava beans; they make you happy! Since this bean contains high concentrations of an amino acid known as L-dopa (dopamine), it will boost your mood and decrease depression.
  11. Practice yoga: Yoga has many health benefits - see for yourself by watching this 10-minute yoga series for happiness or finding a studio to begin your own practice.
  12. Take time off: Maybe you just need a break. Rather than planning a vacation, take the time to adventure around your local neighborhood. Visiting new spots may be just what you need to reset and appreciate what's around you.
  13. Take charge: Go for it! Instead of getting bogged down by the big picture, take a small step in the right direction, now. Just knowing that you're heading in the direction of your dreams will make you happy.
  14. Have fun in the kitchen: Even if you're not a cook, take your mind off things by exploring new ingredients or trying a new recipe. If you don't know where to start, browse our healthy recipes.
  15. Meditate: Meditation is a great way to unwind and strengthen the relationship between your mind and body. It's free, too! And it comes with so many benefits.
  16. Give a compliment: Kick-start a smile with another person and a few genuine words.
  17. Declutter: For a clean slate, get organized. Getting rid of the clutter and rearranging your space will make it feel new. It is also a great starting point to move forward with future projects.
  18. Stay in the moment: Rather than trying to micromanage the future or worrying about the past, live in the moment and just be.
  19. Rest up: If you're having a hard time getting your mind off things, reset with a power nap. A short break will give your mind and body a rest and will help you approach things differently when you wake.
  20. Know it's going to be OK: Just remember, it's always going to be OK.

39 Powerful Quotes That Will Change the Way You Live and Think

Words have power - and these inspiring quotes are guaranteed to challenge the way you think and perhaps even change the way you live.

10 Aluminum-Free Deodorants That Actually Keep You Stink Free

You can't talk about natural deodorants without a quick lesson in B.O. 101. First you need to know the difference between a deodorant and an antiperspirant. An antiperspirant has chemicals like aluminum to stop sweating altogether. The aluminum salts plug the sweat glands, preventing perspiration. On the other hand, a deodorant masks and neutralizes odor. But where does the stink come from in the first place? When the glands in your armpits emit sweat, the liquid interacts with the bacteria in the area to emit unsavory smells.

Natural deodorants use essential oils like tea tree and witch hazel to curb the bacteria. Some also have other less harmful minerals like zinc ricinoleate and sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to keep the underarm area dry without stopping sweat altogether. In addition to getting rid of aluminum, most are also paraben free and safe for sensitive skin. If you're thinking about giving up antiperspirant, start with these 10 formulas that actually keep the stink at bay.
