This $96 Gold Razor Brings 24-Karat Magic to Your Legs

It's cold outside, I'm single, and as a perennially broke 20-something, I have no beach vacations on the horizon, so I'm pretty much done with shaving for the next five months. That is, I was done with shaving until I saw this Oui Shave Kit ($96) that includes a 24-karat gold razor. Now, I might have to amend my no-shave Winter rule.

This kit, although pricey, pretty much makes your hair removal collection complete. I'll break it down for you: along with the aforementioned, Bruno Mars-approved razor, you'll also get a pack of 10 blades and a bottle of Neroli shave oil. Plus, according to Oui, this blade is "engineered to be irritation-free" and "makes shaving a pleasure."

Oui, Imma let you finish, but Halo Top is a pleasure. A seat on the subway at rush hour is a pleasure. Steve's Stranger Things hair is a gosh darn pleasure. Shaving is not a pleasure.

But after reading the reviews of this razor, it looks like I'm going to have to eat my words (along with all that Halo Top). In fact, as far as most shoppers are concerned, Oui has come through on its promise - and more. "This razor is every woman's dream," one wrote. "It makes shaving feel like a luxury spa experience." What now?

According to another, "Shaving is no longer a mundane task to be accomplished in the shower, but a luxurious, rewarding, act of self-care." Are you shook right now, too? I didn't know a razor review could make me feel so empowered.

If you want to bring 24-karat magic to your legs, be sure to preorder this bad boy on Oui Shave's site. It will ship out the week of Nov. 27, so until then, let the hair grow proudly.

This Powerful Photo of a Baby Still Connected to His Placenta Shows How Mind-Blowing Birth Is

The first moments of a baby's life are a whirlwind - so much is happening that it's almost impossible to stop and simply appreciate what has just happened. One midwife-turned-photographer, Emma Jean Nolan, took the opportunity to capture the awe-inspiring power of birth with a startlingly beautiful image. In it, a newborn baby is still connected to his placenta by his umbilical cord that is adjusted to spell out the word "love."

Her intention with the image of baby Harper, which was shot just 90 minutes after he was born last week, was to draw attention to an ancient Maori tradition of burying a newborn's placenta after their birth. Nolan wrote on Facebook:

As a Maori baby his placenta will now be returned to the land. The word 'whenua' relates to the placenta and to the land. Whenua (placenta) is returned to the whenua (land) with the pito (umbilical cord) the link between the newborn and papatuanuku (mother earth). With this affinity established, each individual fulfils the role of curator, for papatuanuku (mother earth), which remains life long.

Interestingly, Nolan told us that she'd been planning to take a photo like this for a while but "was waiting for a baby with a long enough cord to spell" the word. She said, "Once I saw how long Harper's cord was, I knew he was the right baby!"

Although this method for honoring the placenta is rare in the US, the Australian photographer's black-and-white image has gotten more than 2,500 "likes" on Facebook in less than a week, probably because it shows readers - even moms - a sight they've likely never seen before: what is actually birthed when a newborn baby enters the world.

Crush Your November Health and Fitness Goals With These Must-Have Products

Cooler weather is blowing in this month and brings these cool health and fitness products with it. Here's a look at what we're loving this November.

Want a Tighter Butt? Then You Better Start Doing This

There was a lot of groaning happening during celebrity trainer Kit Rich's class; her mantra of the day seemed to be "just 10 more seconds, and get lower!" It didn't matter how pretty our location was - poolside at the W Los Angeles - every plea for 10 more seconds sounded like pure torture. That is until Kit explained the method behind her madness: "The lower you drop, the higher your butt." And who wouldn't want a natural butt lift?

It's a simple tip that Kit says women should apply to the basics of butt building - namely squats, lunges, and all their variations. Her advice is to do a set of squats or lunges as you normally would, but before you come out of that last rep, sink into the exercise a little deeper and hold there for five to 10 seconds, and then drop even lower, holding for another 10 seconds. But it doesn't end there - sink even lower, and now pulse for a count of 10. With every progression, Kit advises to maintain even breath and to check in with your form, especially being sure that your core and glutes are engaged and that your knees are behind your toes. "All of this will help you get through the progression easier," she says.

If you're ready for a little butt-lifting of your own, start with this how-to on doing a basic squat. Then, on the very last rep of each set, be sure to incorporate Kit's method for dropping it low!

MORE Lisa Frank Makeup Is Coming - and It's All Under $8!

Heads up: you can now make your eighth-grade self very, very jealous. Just take a look at this Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls Collaboration that's here to make your vanity '90s fabulous again. If this news sounds familiar, that's because this isn't the first time the cruelty-free and vegan brand has released a line inspired by the creator of those crazy, colorful, often unicorn-themed cartoons. Back in July, the affordable brand released $5 makeup brushes in collaboration with Ms. Frank.

The brand just announced that it's rolling out two more products, and the great news is you can use the existing brushes to apply these new products. And you can still afford the Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls collection on your preteen budget, because both releases cost less than $10.

Read on to see what rainbow-cheetah-printed gifts Glamour Dolls will release on Nov. 11. But be sure to set a calendar alert, preferably to a Spice Girls song, because back in July, those makeup brushes sold out in less than 24 hours! (The brand did eventually restock the tools.)

This Is How All Your Favorite Chefs Make Gravy

A perfectly cooked Thanksgiving turkey is nothing without gravy, but somehow the sauce is always the hardest to master. If you have suffered from runny or lumpy gravy far too long and are determined to make this your year of a standout gravy, look no further than these foolproof recipes. We've turned to some of your favorite celebrity chefs and Food Network personalities for their tried-and-true gravy recipes, and we promise they'll turn you into a total pro.

Alton Brown: With a Secret Ingredient

Alton Brown's best gravy ever doesn't just call for chicken stock; it calls for wine, too. You might think that white wine would go with turkey gravy, but Alton goes with red wine instead for the rich flavor that it adds to the hearty gravy. The stock and wine work together to pull the juicy bits of turkey from the bottom of the roasting pan, and the liquid reduces to form a deeply colored, gorgeous sauce. In the recipe, Alton reminds his readers, "Remember, your gravy should be slightly thin in the pan as it will thicken once you serve it."

Giada De Laurentiis: A Hint of Sophistication

Usually it's Mario Batali who adds truffle to everything, but when it comes to turkey gravy, Giada's on board. Giada's crispy truffled turkey is slathered in truffle butter, and the accompanying gravy gets a dash of truffle salt to enhance the earthy flavor even more.

Ina Garten: Booze Makes It Better

Don't forget to pick up a bottle of brandy or Cognac if you plan on making Ina Garten's homemade gravy. Ina sweats onions in a generous amount of butter before adding flour, salt, pepper, and chicken stock. Things take an interesting (and delicious) turn when Cognac or brandy and white wine join the party, and a tablespoon of heavy cream rounds it all out and delivers a smooth consistency.

Tyler Florence: Tons of Garlic and Herbs

Chef Tyler Florence is a huge fan of garlic and herbs (for good reason), and his roasted turkey gravy recipe makes a strong case for the flavor combination. The flavor-packed gravy calls for a whole head of garlic, the classic mirepoix (onion, carrot, and celery), and plenty of fresh herbs like sage, thyme, and parsley. For a truly memorable meal, pair it with Tyler Florence's epic mashed potatoes.

Gordon Ramsay: With a Touch of Crunch

You wouldn't expect Gordon Ramsay's gravy recipe to be basic, and it's anything but. Gordon's recipe calls for fresh tomatoes that simmer with onions, bacon, dry cider, and stock until all the tomatoes have softened and the flavors have married. Once the gravy has reduced and thickened, chopped walnuts get added to the mix for a crunchy contrast to the soft turkey pieces.

7 Shows to Watch If You're Having Serious Mindhunter Withdrawals

If you've made a nice, deep dent in your couch cushion from binging the entire first season of Mindhunter, you're definitely not alone. Learning about what exactly makes real-life serial killers like Ed Kemper, Richard Speck, and Dennis Rader (aka the BTK killer) tick is fascinating, and the 10-episode series left us wanting more. While our obsession with crime is hard to contain, we're definitely not up for a Holden Ford and Bill Tench-style visit to the nearest prison. So what's a Mindhunter fan to do? Get back on the couch and get ready to stream one of these addicting crime shows.

If You're Holding a Plank For More Than 30 Seconds, It's Too Long - Here's Why

According to Guinness World Records, Mao Weidong holds the title of "longest time in an abdominal plank position," clocking in at 08:01:00. Eight hours. Imagine that. Imagine holding a plank the entire time you're at work, with one-third of your entire day spent in this challenging core move.

Here down on earth, the majority of humans are not chasing dreams of making it into Guinness World Records. But before you even attempt to see how long you can hold the exercise, it's important to consider the sweet spot to really get the most out of this move. Turns out, it's not that long at all. The ideal time to hold plank, according to Austin Lopez, CSCS and owner of Ausome Fit, is somewhere in the range of 20-30 seconds.

In order to be an effective core exercise, it should be completed as a "high-tension move," Austin told POPSUGAR. "Your glutes should be squeezed, pelvis rotated upward with a slight pull forward toward your hands. These will all add to the overall tension and work."

While holding it for more than 30 seconds doesn't present any major downfalls, it's just a waste of your time, he said. "The only real benefit you're going to be getting from holding a plank longer is increased shoulder endurance, but the point of a plank is to strengthen the core." You also risk an increased chance of losing good form as your body begins to tire and overcompensate in other areas.

Don't fret - if you are looking to challenge yourself in this move, focus on weight, not time. Austin suggests having a friend put a light sandbag or weighted plate on your back. This will be a major challenge to your strength, he said. "It is exponentially harder and will be worth the time spent on your elbows." If you're without a workout buddy, he suggests putting your toes on a Bosu or stability ball, which will also work wonders in challenging your core stability. Whatever option you choose, allow yourself time to complete three to four sets of 20- to 30-second planks.

Mom's Note to Stranger at McDonald's Who Got Involved When Her Toddler Wouldn't "Go Potty"

A stranger in a McDonald's bathroom overheard a typical fight between a mom and her toddler: the Kansas parent was trying to reason with her 3-year-old to pee before they left to get back in the car.

The stranger listened in as Tiffany Miller tried to explain to her daughter that it was a long drive home and she had to use the potty before they left. She also heard the child explain that she was afraid the toilet was going to flush while she was sitting on it. Despite her mother promising to block the sensor and prevent it from flushing, the little girl wouldn't comply, and promised to make it through the drive home without having an accident.

In a heartfelt thank you to this stranger posted on her Facebook, Tiffany explained what happened when the woman decided to step in. "You told her you would give her a bracelet if she would go potty for Mommy. She perked up and agreed," Tiffany wrote. "I turned to quickly put her on the potty (before she changed her mind). You told her the bracelet would be waiting outside the stall for her. I turned to say thank you, but you were already gone."

When the child finished using the bathroom she found a bracelet and a candy bar waiting outside her stall. "Her eyes lit up as she put the bracelet on after using the bathroom," Tiffany wrote. "We made it home to Wichita safely and she is currently sleeping soundly next to me . . . still wearing the bracelet."

Although the woman was gone before Tiffany could catch her name, she's grateful for this stranger's act of kindness: "I wish I could have thanked you in person, but maybe you will see this. If not, hopefully it inspires someone else to be kind like you were."

Bésame's New Snow White Line Has Finally Arrived

The holidays just got even more magical thanks to Bésame Cosmetics. The vintage-inspired makeup brand teamed up with Disney to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' release with the launch of the Disney Snow White - The 1937 Collection.

The massive collection includes lipsticks, eye shadow palettes, and blushes inspired by the original colors used in the film. Bésame founder Gabriela Hernandez based the hues on the Disney Studio Ink and colors created for the film, instead of the more vivid hues we see in remastered editions of the animated film.

Disney fans will go gaga for the attention to detail that Bésame included in the collection. The standout product in the collection is The 1937 Storybook Palette ($68), which was previously available for presale at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA. The beautifully designed palette looks like a storybook and includes a cream and gold slip cover and green satin bookmark. When you remove the slip cover and open the palette, you unveil a large mirror and an illustration of the princess herself.

If that wasn't cute enough, the next page has written directions on how to achieve the princess's look and a peek behind the scenes of the palette's production. As you flip to the next page, a table of contents is revealed. This tells you exactly which colors in the palette were used on Snow White in the film and where the shades are seen in the movie.

The shadows themselves are beautifully muted hues, and the collection includes enough neutrals to utilize the palette every day. There are 20 shades total, making this palette well worth the price tag. Keep reading to see all the products in the massive collection, and head to Bésame's website to shop the makeup and get the perfect gift for the Disney fan in your life.

Not only do the bite-size balms look adorable, but they also come in two delectable flavors. Mrs. Potts contains pink strawberry, while opening Chip reveals a purple grape version. The duo is small enough to keep in your purse, and the sweet packaging will make you want to take it everywhere with you. Just be prepared to hear a collective "Ooooooh - where did you get that?" each time you use it.

This Is the No. 1 Reason You're Not Losing Weight

Working out, eating right, and still not seeing the results you're after? Nothing can be more frustrating. But CrossFit competitor Christmas Abbott, author of The Badass Body Diet ($28), knows what could be the issue.

"The biggest mistake people make when trying to lose weight is they restrict themselves too much," says Christmas. And this means not only the food choices people are making but also the amount they're eating. Christmas adds that when you deprive the body of food, it will go into starvation mode and store what food it does get as fat. But if the foods you are eating are all foods that you hate, Christmas warns that you "won't stick with the program, and the bigger picture of a lifestyle change is lost."

Your best bet is to try and find a happy medium between eating enough calories to keep you satiated, but enough to also create a calorie deficit to result in a pound or two lost a week. You can't live on kale alone, so be sure to include foods you love, and if they're not the healthiest, either find healthier ways to enjoy them - check out these lightened-up versions of your favorite comfort foods - or allow yourself just a small taste each day, say of chocolate, to satisfy your cravings. This way of eating will be much easier to maintain for a period of time, so you'll be more apt to stick with it and reach your goal.

Can Sweet Potatoes Help You Lose Weight?

If your exposure to sweet potatoes is limited to the Thanksgiving table or your favorite diner's healthier french fry option, now's the time to open your eyes to the weight-loss wonders of the tuber. Here are three reasons sweet potatoes help you drop pounds.

They're naturally sweet: No refined sugar overload here - sweet potatoes make for a healthy, lower-calorie treat. Satisfy any morning sweet/salty cravings with these sweet potato apple pancakes, and get your healthy dessert fill with these sweet potato desserts.

They regulate blood sugar: Sweet potatoes may have their fair share of carbs (about 33 grams per cup), but they contain a compound that increases levels of adiponectin, the blood-sugar regulating hormone, in the body. Sweet potatoes have a relatively low glycemic index rating (50), which can also help prevent blood sugar spikes after you eat. Regulated blood sugar levels can help get rid of those sugary cravings you get when your levels dip. And while studies have been conflicting, some research has shown that low-glycemic foods stay in your digestive tract longer, helping you control your appetite. To maintain sweet potatoes' low-glycemic properties, boil or steam them instead of roasting them (which destroys some of these properties).

They contain fiber: High-fiber foods are another foolproof way to control hunger. Fiber helps you feel fuller for longer, and one medium sweet potato (about one cup) contains four grams of the nutrient.

Sweet potatoes don't just help you trim your waistline, however. They're powerful sources of vitamin A, which helps boost immunity and promotes good eye, skin, and bone health, as well as high levels of anti-inflammatory antioxidants. Regardless of whether you're trying to lose weight or not, sweet potatoes' seemingly superfood status isn't a license to order all the sweet potato fries you want - a 2011 study found that those deep-fried sweet potato fries may not be as healthy as you think!

Here's What - and When - to Eat Before Working Out

When it comes to working out, it's important to feel energized, but it's not always as simple as grabbing a snack on your way out the door. Eating too close to exercise is a recipe for discomfort, but heading to the gym hungry isn't ideal either.

To learn how to maximize the potential of a workout, I spoke with nutritionist Heidi Skolnik, MS, CDN, FACSM, and author of Nutrient Timing for Peak Performance ($20) to find out what to eat and when before heading to the gym.

5 Ways to a Better, More Abtastic Plank

The plank is one of the best moves for targeting your core. In fact, it's a total-body exercise that helps sculpt toned arms, shoulders, and legs as well. Want to get crazy-toned abs faster? Challenge yourself on your next plank by adding one of these modifications you can do in a basic plank position.

  1. Stop praying: Clasping your hands in elbow plank makes the exercise easier on your abs (and can cause your shoulders to round) so unclasp your hands and focus on creating a long line with your body, shoulders and back, instead.
  2. Flip your hands: A simple flip of your hands so they are palms up when you are in elbow plank will challenge underused arm muscles and also force your core to work more.
  3. Stay up: The straight-arm plank is more difficult than the elbow plank, so if you're finding that you need more of a challenge as you hang out on your forearms, focus on perfecting a plank just on your hands.
  4. Plank on a BOSU: Get unstable by resting your forearms or palms on a BOSU or exercise ball. This challenges your balance to work your core even more.
  5. Add a variation: If you're ready for even more of a challenge, there are many different ways to make your basic plank that much harder. Here are eight plank variations you need to try.

This Powerful PSA Shuts Down the Stigma Around Down Syndrome Once and For All

In an effort to shed some much-needed light on what it's like to have a child with Down syndrome, the Canadian Down Syndrome Society released a powerful video on Nov. 2 to YouTube explaining why you should never say "sorry" to the parents of kiddos with Down syndrome. The powerful PSA clocks in at one minute and 26 seconds and tackles what should be common knowledge: having a baby is a reason to celebrate - regardless if said child has Down syndrome or not.

The video is called "The S-Word" and is part of a larger campaign called Anything But Sorry, which seeks to remind people that having a child with Down syndrome is nothing to be sorry about, with a bunch of hilarious one-liners straight from the mouths of the people they're apologizing for. The best part? How they get the point across with a little bit of humor and a whole lot of profanity, proving that the only bad word when it comes to talking about kiddos with Down syndrome is "sorry." And if you ask us, the mission was accomplished.

How I Kicked My 20-Year-Long Nail-Biting Habit For Good

"I feel sorry for your fingers." Those were the six words that came out of the woman's mouth when she took my hands to try and bless them with a manicure for my wedding. Can I get an ouch?

As painful as that sentence was to take in - especially so close to my big day - truth be told, it was just what I needed to hear to recognize how out of control my nail-biting habit had become. See, I've been a nail-biter for 20-some long years. Looking back, I can't recall how this grotesque, compulsive habit even started, but it's one that has followed me well into adulthood.

It's embarrassing, to say the least - and honestly, I don't think many people realized how much the constant urge to pick, pull, or bite at my fingernails consumed me. But really, that was my goal, because every time I'd shred my cuticles to the point where they'd be dripping with blood - gross, I know - I'd hide each wounded finger so no one would notice. Because what sane person nips at their nail (and the skin around it) until red liquid oozes out, right? To make matters worse, I would feel strangely satisfied each time this happened.

If you are also a chronic nail-biter, I'm hoping you can relate. (By hoping, what I really mean is: please tell me you've experienced similar scenarios so I don't feel too crazy.) And if by chance you are nodding your head in agreement, please know that I, too, feel your pain. What's more? I've got good news for you.

After years of searching high and low for an effective nail-biting solution - and literally trying every single program under the sun - I finally found a method that actually worked. Although it was one of the hardest challenges I've endured, I'm confident that if I can nip this nasty habit in the bud, anyone can.

So if you're ready to quit biting your nails once and for all - and, let's be real, who isn't? - your guide to beautiful hands awaits ahead!

Jaw-Dropping Then-and-Now Photos of the Twin Sisters Who Gave Birth 15 Minutes Apart

Twin sisters Corey Struve Talbott and Katie Struve Morgan knew they were expecting their babies 10 days apart, but when they unexpectedly gave birth on the same day and within just 15 minutes of each other, they couldn't have been more shocked. Before giving birth to Indie Mae and Ryatt Rae, Corey and Katie took stunning maternity photos in blue gowns to commemorate going through pregnancy at the same time. A year later, the sisters slipped on the same dresses and grabbed their 1-year-old girls to re-create their maternity shoot.

"I photographed Corey and Katie's maternity photos last year. I thought it was so sweet that two sisters got to experience such a special time together," Brenden Boggs of So Cute Photo told POPSUGAR. "Even though their due dates were a few weeks apart, they ended up giving birth on the same day only 15 minutes apart! We all joke that they are twin-cousins!"

With Indie and Ryatt celebrating their first birthdays, Brenden thought it would be fun to re-create Corey and Katie's maternity shoot with the girls, and the twins loved the idea. "We were cracking up at how loose the dresses were," Corey told POPSUGAR of the now-iconic blue dresses.

"It was so much fun to see how much life can change in a year," Brenden said. "Now Corey and Katie have two beautiful baby girls full of personality, and they all can't wait to see what adventures the next year of toddlerhood brings!"

Ahead, see the gorgeous photos Brenden took of the moms and their little ones plus a YouTube video of the twins' birth stories, and follow Indie and Ryatt on Instagram for daily doses of cuteness.

This Kindergarten Shamed 1 Mom For Her "Unacceptable" Snack: Raisins

After packing her little one what she considered to be an appropriate snack, one mom is sharing the surprising note that her child came home from kindergarten with.

The mom from Australia first shared the note on a closed Facebook group, and it has since gone viral for its criticism of dried fruit. "Please help us to encourage nutritious eating habits in children. Our healthy eating policy asks you to provide healthy and nutritious snacks for your child to eat at kindy," the note read. "The sultanas (golden raisins) packed for your child today are unacceptable at kindy due to its high sugar content."

Many parents are shocked at this school's response to the lunch, but nobody is as surprised as the mom who received the note. "This must be a joke? Of course they are high in sugar, they are fruit," she wrote in her Facebook post's caption, according to Kidspot. "Today's lunch consisted of a sandwich roll, two boiled eggs, an orange, kiwi fruit, and a handful of sultanas. She never has packaged food in her lunchbox or anything with refined sugar."

Kathryn Hawkins, a dietitian and mom, came to the parent's defense over this lunch shaming, which so many other well-intentioned moms and dads have faced recently, because she wants it to stop. "If your child enjoys sultanas and feels happy when eating them, then that is a great choice for them. If you are a busy working household and grabbing a box of sultanas for the lunchbox makes it a bit easier for you, then it is a great choice for you," she wrote on Facebook. "You DO NOT have to feel one bit guilty for putting a box of sultanas in your child's lunch and you DO NOT have to 'explain' why."

Hold Up - Trader Joe's Sells Chocolate Advent Calendars For Just $1!

Trader Joe's seems like an unlikely place to find an advent calendar, but turns out it's one of the best places to buy one. The store's chocolate advent calendars are back again this year, and thankfully they're sporting the same low price yet again: $1! If you already consider this a staple on your Trader Joe's holiday shopping list, please ignore this friendly PSA. But if you weren't already aware of the affordable calendar, it could be a game changer this year!

A POPSUGAR editor has already spotted this year's calendars on shelves, and it looks like there are four fun designs to choose from - TJ's updates the designs every year. According to Trader Joe's, the calendars "contain little chocolates that surpass in quality those waxy candies one finds in lesser countdown calendars. The key is a generous amount of cocoa butter, which translates into a smoother, more chocolate-y taste." If you're a chocoholic, this is clearly the best way to count down to Christmas.

There's no need to worry about ordering a cool advent calendar online when you can just add this one to your shopping cart the next time you're picking up groceries at Trader Joe's.

Tyler Florence's Hack Will Forever Change the Way You Make Mashed Potatoes

Food Network chef Tyler Florence shared his mashed potatoes recipe with us, and I immediately had to try it. Traditionally, potatoes are cooked in water before being mashed together with butter and cream (or milk). However, Tyler suggests cooking the potatoes in the cream itself, so no potato-y flavor is lost. He explains, "Potatoes have a really delicate, beautiful minerality to their flavor profile, and when you cook potatoes in water and you pour that water down the drain, you've extracted all the flavor of the potato. So what I do with mashed potatoes - because you finish them with cream and butter anyway, right? - is I'll take that same cream and butter and add that to the potatoes and cook the potatoes in cream and butter." Would that actually work? Would it actually taste good? I had to find out.

As Tyler instructed, I added "cold, peeled, chopped potatoes, cream, butter, and olive oil" to a pan. He also told us, "I like garlic. I like sage and rosemary flavor combinations, and a little bit of thyme." To my pot of 3 pounds of potatoes, I added enough half and half to just barely cover the potatoes. Frankly, I was scared about using straight cream, which is why I deviated slightly from his instruction. I then added about 3 tablespoons of salted butter and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. I added a few cloves of peeled garlic and half a bunch each of sage, rosemary, and thyme. I also included a significant amount of salt (at least a teaspoon) so the potatoes could absorb some of the flavor while cooking. I covered the pot and allowed it to simmer on medium until the potatoes became fork tender, about 20 minutes. The aroma in my kitchen was unbelievable.

Here's what Tyler told us to do next: "When the potatoes are tender, I put a bowl on the counter and a colander inside that bowl. I pour the potatoes through the colander, and the cream will collect on the bottom. Then I'll put the potatoes back into the pot and take the potato-infused garlic cream and fold that back into the potatoes, and it's the most incredible flavor profile. It's the best mashed potato you'll ever taste in your entire life." And so, I did just that. I drained the potatoes, collecting the rich liquid while discarding the herb stems. I then mashed the potatoes, adding back in the liquid until I created velvety smooth mashed potatoes with little specks of garlic and herbs. I salted and peppered to taste and served up with my lemon-garlic-parsley roast turkey and gravy. These mashed potatoes are pure heaven. I can now agree with Tyler's affirmation; they really are the best mashed potatoes I've ever tasted in my entire life. And even though I was scared it would be a huge flop, I'm never going back to any other method again.

Before-and-After Photo of Kindergartener's First-Day-of-School Hair Is Going Viral

Markeisha Simien sent her daughter, Charle-feigh, off to her first day of kindergarten wearing her school uniform and a beautifully braided hairdo. From the look of her Facebook photos, the mom takes great pride in doing her 5-year-old's hair and likely expected to see her daughter sporting the same intricate 'do on her way home later that day. However, Markeisha was surprised to see her girl walk out of class with quite a different style - one a bit more . . . disheveled, to say the least - and is even more shocked that her daughter is going viral because of it.

The mom posted a side-by-side photo of Charle-feigh's hair to social media, but was overwhelmed by the response to her girl's "before and after school chronicles." Luckily for us, Markeisha decided to repost the photo and is embracing the laughs her girl's hairdo is bringing to complete strangers.

"Thanks everyone! She is really a joy! But I lost it all yesterday when I saw her hair!" Markeisha wrote in a comment on the photo. "I was upset, true! But me and my baby laughed together at her hair redo!"

Markeisha says she has started asking Charle-feigh every day if she's going to play with her hair again, and though the girl says "no," the mom has a feeling her child is probably lying. Here's hoping Markeisha's right and that more hilariously adorable before-and-after photos of Charle-feigh come about as a result.
