The 7 Biggest Mistakes You're Making When You Meal Prep
Meal prep is supposed to help you eat healthier and lose weight, right? Well, not if you make these mistakes - you could actually gain! Whether you're new to the meal prep life or you've been meal prepping and not seeing results, make sure you avoid these mistakes.
1. Not Following the Correct Formula
Each meal you prep needs to have healthy carbs, fats, and protein. While it may be quick and easy to prep an enormous dish of baked ziti, you don't want to just eat carbs for lunch. Same with mason jar salads. While veggies are low in calories and high in fiber, you need to include healthy fats and protein to make your salad filling enough so afternoon cravings don't drive you to hit the local bakery. Well-balanced meals are the key to weight loss.
2. Huge Containers
Having the right-size containers will guide your portion sizes, so make sure you have different containers on hand. A 24-ounce mason jar would be great for a salad, but that would be four portions of soup!
3. Prepping Too Much
Slow cookers are a meal prepper's best friend, but you'll want to adjust your recipes to guide how many meals you're planning ahead for. There's no need to make a chili recipe that serves eight if you only need lunch for five days. If you do, freeze the extras - don't spread out eight servings into five containers! Along the same lines, if you know you're going to eat pretzels and hummus for snack all week, don't just bring one huge bag of pretzels and a container of hummus to work. You'll end up eating half the bag in one day! Divvy up portions in baggies or containers so you have one for each day.
The 10 Commandments of Meal Prep
4. Not Prepping Enough
While one piece of grilled salmon with a little rice and a few steamed broccoli florets may be enough for one person, it might leave you famished an hour later and reaching for three granola bars from the staff kitchen. Know your body and what fills you up so you can prep an appropriate-size meal that will satisfy your hunger without going overboard on calories.
5. Prepping For Just One Time of Day
High five for prepping a week of salads! OK, now lunch is set, but what about the rest of the day? The more prep you can do for the week, including snacks and other meals, the less room there is to stray from your healthy ways. Set aside enough time on Sunday to plan, shop, and prep for the times you know you need it most.
6. Eating the Same Meal Every Single Day
Simplicity is helpful when meal prepping because it's faster and easier to make the same five lunches over and over. But aside from missing out on a variety of foods and the nutrients they offer, you'll also get incredibly bored. If you're not looking forward to your lunch, you're more likely to feel unsatisfied when you eat and seek out more food or skip it altogether for a trip to the pizzeria down the street. Here are some meal prep ideas for inspiration.
No need to make five dramatically different lunches. Just add a little variation. Mix up the veggies and the way you cut or cook them. Have a different fruit for snack each day of the week. Cook up different whole grains for dinner. Use different salad toppings and dressings each day. Or whip up two different breakfasts like two smoothie freezer packs and three jars of overnight oats. The more exciting your meals, the more enjoyable and the more likely you'll stick with meal prep.
7. Making It Too Strict or Too Healthy
Prepping meals and snacks that keep your macros and calories in check all week will definitely yield the results you're after, but if you feel depressed about how strict your diet is, it could drive you to break down and give up. When meal prepping, leave a small amount of wiggle room. So say you've planned to have lentil soup on Tuesday, but you don't feel like it; you can just grab Wednesday's prepped ingredients for burritos instead.
It's also important to prep some treats, because indulging a little each day can give you that little taste you're craving so you don't feel like you're missing out. These homemade chocolates (like dark chocolate salted caramels made with dates!) are great to make ahead of time to keep in the fridge or freezer.
The Piece of Advice Rachel Lindsay Has For New Bachelor Arie Will Guarantee He Finds Love
Rachel Lindsay might be happy she's no longer the Bachelorette, as she's getting ready to walk down the aisle with fiancé Bryan Abasolo, but she has a piece of advice for new Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. The couple, who got engaged at the end of Rachel's season in August, spoke to E! News at KIIS FM's 2017 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball about the one thing he should keep in mind during this season.
"We're just like, 'be yourself,'" Rachel said. "You can't go wrong with that." Bryan also hopped in, adding that Arie should "just lay it out there. Get those emotions out of everybody and make the most out of every relationship you have with each woman." Rachel and Bryan seem very happy, so Arie might want to listen to their advice as he goes on his journey to find love, even if fans of the franchise still aren't convinced he should have been the new Bachelor.
For our part, we can't wait to see if Arie is finally able to meet "the one" when his season starts on Jan. 1, especially since he already competed on Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette.

Take a look at who else we're about to see - besides more dinosaurs, obviously. Lots and lots of dinosaurs.
13 Top Tips For Traveling on Public Transport in London
Planning a trip to London? Don't get caught out spending too much on transport, or using the wrong routes. These tips will ensure you ride the tube (and the bus, and the train) like a Londoner.
Contactless Is Cheapest
Unless you're staying for a month or more, the cheapest and most convenient way to pay for travel is to use a Contactless card, like your debit or credit card. Just tap it on the yellow readers found on tube barriers, train and tram platforms, and buses. Travel will be capped to the same as a daily and weekly (Mon-Sun) travelcard for the zones you travel through. An Oyster card (a special card from Transport for London that you can top up with cash or load with a travelcard) is only capped daily at the moment, so it can work out more expensive over a week. However, if you're traveling from abroad it may be a worthwhile investment to avoid any foreign transaction fees on your debit or credit card. You can buy one from any station, for a refundable deposit around $6.
Don't Pay For More Zones Than You Need
If you're buying a travelcard, don't be fooled into spending a fortune on a zone 1-6 card "just in case". Unless you're planning to visit somewhere like Hampton Court Palace, it's highly unlikely you'll ever leave zones 1 and 2. Tourist favorites like Hampstead Heath, Notting Hill and Portobello, and Camden Market are all within zones 1 and 2.
Learn When to Tap Out
On the tube, DLR, and trains, you'll need to tap out as well as tapping in with your card. If you forget to do this, you could be overcharged for your journey. However, you don't have to tap out on London buses or the Croydon tramlink, as the fee for each journey is the same no matter how long you ride.
In Central London, It Can Be Faster to Walk
The tube map doesn't show the distance between stations accurately, and some tube stations are much closer than you think. This includes one of the most popular tourists journeys in London: Leicester Square to Covent Garden. You can walk this journey in minutes by heading down Long Acre, and it's much quicker than navigating the two busy tube stations (one of which has a notoriously busy and temperamental lift). Another famously close pairing is Charing Cross and Embankment. TFL has now produced a brilliant walking tube map that shows the average walking time between stations.
Don't Forget That Your Ticket Goes Beyond Just the Tube
A travelcard or PAYG Oyster or contactless card will let you travel on multiple forms of London transport, not just the tube. Sometimes getting a train can be quicker - want to go to Borough Market from the West End? A train from Charing Cross to London Bridge might be faster than trying to find a connection to the Jubilee or Northern line. You may be able to get to Richmond on a train from Waterloo in a fraction of the time it would take to ride the District Line. And don't forget buses: they'll allow you to see where you're going and get your bearings in a way the tube never will.
Some Bus Routes Make Great Budget Tours
I'm a huge London bus advocate. When I first moved to London, I didn't even pay for a travelcard, I just got a bus pass! It helped me learn the layout of the city and discover all manner of shortcuts I'd never know otherwise. If you don't fancy or can't afford an open-top bus tour, ride the top deck of a London bus and take in the sights for $2! There are loads of options, but I'd recommend two to start you off: the 10 from Hammersmith takes in Kensington, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, Marble Arch, and Oxford Street. The 88 takes you from Camden Town down into central London, via Trafalgar Square, through beautiful Westminster down to Pimlico for the Tate Britain. Jump off there for a spot of art or stay on until Clapham Common for my favorite South London secret, gelato at Nardulli's.
London Buses Are Cash Free
Another reason to embrace contactless payment: you can no longer pay your fare in cash on the bus. You'll need to tap in on one of the card readers. The new hopper fare means if you transfer between multiple buses (or trams) within an hour, you'll only get charged once (but remember to still tap in each time), which is a bonus given that it's not unknown for them to change their destination after you've got on!
Be Careful Where You Stand
If you want to ingratiate yourself with the locals, learn the rules of public transport. Always stand on the right on escalators at stations: this allows people to rush past on the left. This is an actual rule, not just British politeness! When you get to your platform be sure to move along, don't gather at the entrance blocking other people. There are tube maps all the way along the platform if you're unsure where you're going. On buses, don't stand in the doorway, either at the exit or by the driver, for obvious reasons!
Don't Get Caught Out at the Airport
If you're flying into London, check the airport website for travel information before you set off. Though there may be Oyster barriers at airport train stations, not all routes to and from airports accept Oyster / Contactless for payment, and most airports have two train options, a more expensive "express" train and a cheaper but slower stopping service. You'll need the right ticket for the train you're on or you could face a big fine. London Heathrow is the only airport with a tube station.
Avoid Peak Time If You Can
The commuting hours of 8-9.30 and 5-7pm are very, very busy and if you're not used to the scrum, it can be overwhelming. Commuters have little time for tourists who hold them up on their way to work / home. Try to organize your day so you don't need to use the busiest stations during these times (think mainline rail connections and hubs where multiple lines meet like Oxford Circus, Leicester Square, and Bank). The worst thing you can do in the early evening is make short trips in the center of town (Oxford Circus to Piccadilly Circus, for example) in large groups, or with piles of bulky shopping bags. Walk, wait a bit or take a bus if you can!
Don't Stand in Stupid Places
Trains and tube carriages and buses get busy. Even if it's quiet when you get on, it won't last. Move down, take seats if they're available, and for the love of Prince Harry, please don't lean your entire body against the poles that are designed for people to hold on to!
Shhhh!
Though most people will happily help you if you have a question about your journey, in general Londoners aren't exactly chatty on public transport. You'll recognize them by their headphones, or the fact their head is stuck in a book or a newspaper. Sorry if you think that's rude, but it's just the way things are! The worst thing you can do is engage a Londoner in what you think is a friendly conversation about how busy and hot the tube is and how you "can't believe" they use it every day at rush hour.
Keep a Lid on Your Booze
There aren't many places you can't drink alcohol in London, but public transport is one of them. New rules came into place a few years ago, which mean you can get fined for carrying open bottles of alcohol on tubes and buses. Plenty of folks still take their chances, but it's probably not worth the risk. Save it until you get off the tube or bus and head for the nearest pub! The rules on trains are slightly different and vary depending on the operator.
ELF Just Dropped a 100-Pan Eye Shadow Palette at Target - and More Holiday Newness
Heads up: you need to go to Target, STAT. While beauty junkies already know that the megastore is chock-full of cool products year-round, this holiday season sh*t just got especially good. ELF Cosmetics, purveyors of those fine $1, $5, and $10 budget beauty staples, just dropped a full holiday line. Here's the 411: everything in this collection is gorgeous, fabulous, and well under $20.
We're particularly swooning over the eye-shadow offerings, which include a 100-pan (yes, three digits) palette for just $15. That's 15 cents per shadow, people. The collection also includes one of the dreamiest pairs of $2 false lashes we ever did see that are gorgeously romantic and Princess-esque.
Hence the long version of ELF's acronym - eyes, lips, face - there are affordable products represented for every part of your face. Oh, and also nails, because the line includes sets of 10 polishes for $10 - that's the same price as many single colors we hoard.
If you're not in the holiday spirit, prepare yourself to feel merry and bright, because how can you not when it's possible to buy a lipstick kit for less than a peppermint latte? See everything in this Winter wonderful line, ahead.
The Amazon Reviews of a Trump Christmas Ornament Will Make You Laugh Till You Cry
President Donald Trump is celebrating his first holiday season in office, and while the public perhaps wasn't thrilled by the White House's odd sense of decor, it would seem that the holidays are exempt from the large-scale outrage that we've come to expect with all things Trump. Unless, somehow, you stumble upon the Trump camp's merchandise on Amazon.
Deep in the belly of our favorite online retailer, MAGA-branded holiday merchandise is being absolutely roasted by users far and wide. And it's the Trump Make America Great Again Red Cap Collectible Ornament, priced at a wholly outrageous $59.99, that's feeling the full brunt of a year's worth of Trump-related frustration from the 75 percent of users who have deemed the product to be a one-star experience.
Ahead, we've grabbed some of the best user reactions to the cap-shaped ornament and it goes without saying that while you'll laugh until you cry, some of these comments might be slightly on the NSFW side.
This Doctor Is on a Mission to Revolutionize Breast Cancer Screening as We Know It
Dr. Laura Esserman has never been afraid to be unconventional. The Harvard and Stanford grad has devoted her medical career to researching breast cancer, and her longstanding, vocal position that the medical establishment should be taking a more measured and individualized approach to both breast cancer screening and treatment has been framed as "controversial," challenging to the "status quo," and even "iconoclastic."
But in recent years, as more data and updated recommendations suggest that medicine and research is ready to confront and challenge decades-long opinions about how best to confront this cancer, it seems Esserman may have simply been ahead of her time. Does she sense a sea change? "Well, the tide is starting to turn," a cautiously optimistic Dr. Esserman told POPSUGAR in between meetings at University of California at San Francisco, where she is Director of the Carol Frank Buck Breast Care Center. "I wouldn't say it turned." But if it hasn't yet turned, it seems Esserman's newest effort, the WISDOM study, could turn it.
"There Are Downsides to Doing Too Much"
On the surface, you might wonder what could be problematic about frequent, standardized breast cancer screening for all women with a certain age range. But Esserman and her team are quick to point out several drawbacks, with potential costs that are financial, psychological, and physical. "There are downsides to doing too much, and there are downsides to overscreening and overtreating," says Allison Stover, director of the Athena Breast Health Network, which is overseeing the WISDOM effort.
This is why Esserman may opt not to surgically intervene in cases when other doctors might. "If you need a biopsy and you need a workup, great. But if you don't, that is a hugely stressful thing to go through," she says. "When 75 percent of the biopsies are benign and 90 percent of the recalls aren't for anything, that's a lot of trauma that we don't need."
In an era when healthcare costs and insurance coverage are dominating the political and social conversation, there's also money to keep in mind. "I think the insurance industry should come to the table to help us," Esserman says, noting that shifting money to focus testing on high-risk populations is in everyone's best interest.
Esserman's cautious approach now seems to be echoed across a growing chorus of studies and recommendations urging a rethinking of the way we've been told to view breast cancer testing and treatment. One parallel development of note: guidelines for cervical cancer screening changed in 2012; now, it's recommended that women 21-70 get Pap smears every three years instead of once every year. And in 2017, The American Cancer Association suggested that self breast exams are unnecessary, as they are unlikely to help women detect signs of cancer - a move that took me, a millennial woman, by surprise, considering how frequently, and for how many years, my generation was told we must do them.
"Business as Usual Is Not Going to Cut It"
These are just some of the reasons Esserman's WISDOM undertaking could help revolutionize breast cancer screening and treatment as we know it: by tailoring both to individual women's needs and risk levels. Doing so could lead to stemming potentially invasive treatments and arm a new era of women with a greater knowledge of their own risk. The WISDOM study, which began recruiting last year, is seeking to bring on more than 100,000 women to better understand the best approach for breast cancer screening and guidelines - and hopefully to lead to a model that would allow for individual recommendations as to how often they should be screened. While there have been smaller studies that have tried to achieve similar goals, this is the first randomized, prospective study - versus a retrospective study - to look at breast cancer screening. That's not to mention its scale; the study is seeking to recruit 100,00 women within the next year. The study is open to women ages 40-74 who live in California and haven't had a personal history with breast cancer.
Part of Esserman's goal is to find better ways to treat women for whom breast cancer is a major threat. Notably, people at the highest risk for early death from breast cancer, Esserman says, do not have screen-detected cancers. "Business as usual is not going to cut it," she says. "We've been screening for three decades, and we haven't dropped these aggressive cancer rates sufficiently to say, 'Oh, no problem. We're screening, so we let's all go home and feel good.' No. We have to make it better."
Ideally, the study could help produce a kind of personal blueprint that would help doctors determine the perfect screening regimen for individual women, based on a number of criteria, like her age, family history, and genetics.
"We will really move on when we identify the types of cancers that people get on this trial, and start figuring out, 'Okay if you are an ultralow risk, you don't need to be screened as frequently.' How great is that? If that's really true, that's a major breakthrough," Esserman says. "That means less [intervention] for people who don't need it, but then more for people who do need it."
Esserman's colleague, Stover, similarly says that identifying women who could benefit from increased intervention is just as much a goal of the study as alleviating unnecessary intervention for women for whom it's not required. Chemoprevention medication can help reduce the risk of breast cancer for women who are at high risk, but currently, there's a low uptake of these medications. The study could help better identify these women and give them the information they need to help convince them to take the medication.
"It Took Away This Heaviness and This Fear"
WISDOM uses a risk model in conjunction with genetic information for each woman who participates in the study. The team tests for nine breast cancer genes that are well-known, alongside smaller DNA changes, called SNPs. Those SNPs - or single-nucleotide polymporphisms, for you science buffs - help identify more particular genetic risks. Some of these markers are unique to women of different racial and ethnic backgrounds, Stover says, and the valuable information that SNPs can provide about risk factors is currently not being used in clinical practice - making this study all the more potentially revelatory. Women can either opt to be randomly placed in, or make the choice between, the randomized study and personalized study. Women in the personalized arm of WISDOM share more information - and receive more in return.
Bethany Hornthal, 60, lives and works in San Francisco, CA. She got to know Dr. Esserman when she began helping her identify funding for the study in her role as a business development and marketing consultant. Now, she's a participant in the WISDOM study herself.
"Both of my grandmothers had breast cancer; one died of breast cancer," she tells POPSUGAR. "I had my first mammogram at 14 because I had dense, fibrous breasts."
Hornthal said her participation in the study was incredibly simple. Participants in both studies fill out an intake questionnaire and either undergo a mammogram - or just provide the results of their most recent mammogram. Women in the personalized study also submit a saliva sample, which identifies SNPs. Hornthal, who opted into the personalized study, says she was floored by what she learned.
"I have lived 46 years just assuming I am at the highest risk for breast cancer. I had this dark cloud hanging over me, just waiting for it to hit." Instead, she discovered her risk is "very, very minimal," and credits WISDOM with giving her the opportunity to not just learn this information, but to share it with her daughter. All participants in the personalized study are given a personal recommendation for their future screenings and a letter that shares their genetic results, telling them whether they have one of the nine SNP genetic mutations the study screens for. Based on the results of the study and her age, Hornthal plans to get a mammogram once every two years.
"It took away this heaviness and this fear that was potentially unnecessary," says Hornthal, who is now encouraging other women she knows to sign up for the study, which is slated to run for five years. "There's no reason not to do this."

CVS Is Buying Aetna - Here's What That Means For You
On Sunday, it was announced that pharmacy chain CVS is in the midst of buying health insurance provider Aetna for $69 billion. While on the surface this may appear to be top-level business news, the merger enables two major health service providers with an opportunity to reshape American health care. As The New York Times observes, combining CVS and Aetna will help broaden the types of care that patients will receive at pharmacy locations. The merger will make CVS pharmacies more robust in handling health concerns by shifting them into "community-based sites of care," including on-site nursing staff and the ability to conduct lab work.
The merger also hopes to save patients money by reducing hospital visits, both by way of analyzing and fighting disease outside of a doctor's office. As the Aetna announcement states, much of this will be visible through out-of-hospital check-ins by way of "medical evaluations" and counseling for ailments like diabetes at CVS locations. These beefed up pharmacies will extend the reach of hospitals by bringing experts in-house to explain complicated matters like medications and results like glucose levels at venues blocks away from home.
But the move means something larger than merely a potential win for CVS and Aetna customers: we are likely to see more retailers join forces with health insurance providers to create similar satellite health venues. Other major, billion-dollar deals are currently in the works between Wal-mart and Humana, along with Walgreens, Cigna, and Anthem. Industry experts see these moves as a response to Amazon's potential plans to disrupt the healthcare industry by working directly with drug makers.
A major concern when blurring the lines between healthcare provider and pharmacy is the fact that the combination of giants like CVS and Aetna will mean that people have less choice in care. According to CNN Money, advocacy groups are concerned that these newly joined forces will make patients pay more for a dramatically limited scope of available drugs. Moreover, supposed cost-cutting doesn't quite make sense given both CVS and Aetna were previously working closely to lower drug prices, meaning there's a possibility over-the-counter purchases of drugs will remain the same price.
This year has been a rollercoaster ride for healthcare coverage, and CVS's acquisition of Aetna only complicates the matter further. As NPR notes, the move will effectively turn healthcare retailers into insurers, a reality that has both positive aspects (like insurance seamlessly tailored to a network of drug providers) and negative aspects (like nonlowered drug prices). CVS and Aetna's coupling appears to be an insider healthcare deal, but the reality is that the ripples will be huge and might soon be affecting a pharmacy near you.
The SAG Awards Break Tradition With a First-Ever Host: Kristen Bell!
For the first time in its history, the Screen Actors Guild Awards are adding a host. After over two decades of never having a proper MC, the SAG Awards announced on Monday that Kristen Bell will helm the 2018 ceremony on Jan. 21.
"I am honored to be part of the SAG Awards and am a little nervous about being its first-ever host," the 37-year-old actress, who previously hosted the Independent Spirit Awards alongside Fred Armisen in 2015, said in a press release. "I'm so glad that I'll be in the company of my fellow actors, many of whom I've worked with before, so I know they'll be warm and supportive."
Meet your host of the 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday Jan 21, 2018. @SAGawards http://pic.twitter.com/IToeFiPhdf
- Kristen Bell (@IMKristenBell) December 4, 2017
Executive Producer Kathy Connell also weighed in on the exciting announcement, explaining the motivations behind choosing Bell as their host. "This has been a year in which assumptions have been challenged, stereotypes have been shattered, and precedents have been broken," she said. "We decided to capture the cultural mood by casting aside one of our own traditions, and we're thrilled to have such a talented performer like Bell help us do so."
The reason the SAG Awards have never had a host since their creation in 1995 is really quite simple. Connell has always said the award show didn't want to take time away from the actors they were honoring. This makes sense being that the award show is typically just two hours, while the Academy Awards and Golden Globes tend to run much longer due to various skits and additional categories.

House of Cards Will Begin Filming Its Final Season in 2018 Without Kevin Spacey
The president is finally being held accountable for his actions. Well, in House of Cards, at least.
Following the sexual harassment and assault allegations against star Kevin Spacey, Netflix has severed ties with the actor and decided to resume production on its eight-episode final season with Robin Wright in the lead role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the political drama is set to begin filming the sixth season in early 2018. Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos announced that the streaming giant is "excited to bring closure to fans," although there's still no word on how Spacey's character, the devious President Frank Underwood, will be written out of the series.
The news that House of Cards will resume filming comes hot on the heels of many wondering if Netflix would flat-out cancel the show, since Spacey is not only the star but also an executive producer. On Oct. 29, actor Anthony Rapp came forward in a lengthy interview with BuzzFeed with allegations that Spacey sexually harassed him when he was 14 years old and Spacey was 26. Not long after, Spacey tweeted out a statement apologizing for the incident; however, he also claimed he does not remember it taking place. The 58-year-old actor ended his statement by coming out, noting that he chooses now "to live as a gay man."
Spacey was also recently removed from Ridley Scott's All the Money in the World, which is due out on Dec. 22 and now features Christopher Plummer in Spacey's role.

Want to Invest in Luxe Skin Care? These Brands Are Worth the Splurge
In beauty, there are a few things you should splurge on: that 90-minute massage, the extralong scalp massage, and your skincare regimen.
Anytime I interview an esthetician, dermatologist, or makeup artist, I can count on this answer making its way into our conversation in one way or another: "Your skin is the key to making your makeup look gorgeous, and it can also be the key to feeling confident without makeup, too!" So, to drill it into your brain as well - your skin is the key to looking good, whether it's helping your makeup look better or saving you time by not having to wear it. And while there are plenty of products that cost less than $15 that can get the job done, many skincare products with high efficacy come with a higher price tag.
That's not to say some luxury brands aren't marking up their products while using a minimal amount of their active ingredient, though. It's frustrating to invest in a luxury product only to notice no results after continually using it, right? Nobody wants to waste their time or money on a $100 product that is equivalent to one that's $15. That said, here's a list of luxury brands that actually deliver on the claims they make, per my own experiences with each. If you're serious about spending some cash on your face, these are the products worth every cent.
Your "Empty" Brow Pencil Could Be Hiding Weeks' Worth of Product
Image Source: POPSUGAR Photography / Maria del Rio
While perusing Reddit's Makeup Addiction page today, I saw something that was majorly impressive. Not only had one dedicated person actually managed to break open their Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz ($21), but they had also discovered that much more pencil lives inside the product if you bust it open. Consider my mind blown.
Broke open my Brow Wiz after it was "empty" and this is how much product was left from MakeupAddiction
Our hero goes by the handle ihatemashedpotatoes (an opinion I do not endorse but can quietly respect). They managed to pull off the tip of the pencil starting at the area around its neck (shown below). And voila! Quite a bit of product was uncovered - "like a good two months" of supply, another Redditor estimated.

That post has led to other intrepid beauty enthusiasts experimenting with more pencils. Justascruffygirl tested out the method on an NYX Micro Brow ($10), and lo and behold, you don't have to go buy a new one anytime soon. As one Redditor wrote, "I'm broke but my brows will look GREAT." Small mercies, y'all.
I decided to see if Micro Brow also had hidden depths from MakeupAddiction
According to those who experimented, there's no real finesse required for this method, "Just blunt force. Literally just snap it off." You got this!
Billy Bush Confirms "Yes, Donald Trump, You Really Said That"
Billy Bush confirmed that President Donald Trump did indeed say "grab 'em by the p*ssy," among many other unacceptable comments about harassing and assaulting women, in a searing op-ed published by The New York Times.
The op-ed, published on Dec. 3, was in direct response to Trump's recent assertion that the voice on the now-infamous Access Hollywood tape "was not authentic" and that the "locker room talk" was doctored. This denial stands in direct opposition to Trump taking ownership of and apologizing for the October 2016 revelation.
Bush, who is related to both President George H. W. Bush and President George W. Bush, seized the opportunity to set the record straight by calling out the president's deflection of culpability. "President Trump is currently indulging in some revisionist history, reportedly telling allies, including at least one United States senator, that the voice on the tape is not his," Bush wrote, adding, "This has hit a raw nerve in me."
In the op-ed, Bush noted that Trump's behavior has undoubtedly "reopened the wounds of the women who came forward with their stories about him" while welcoming the current dialogue surrounding sexual misconduct onto himself. He even suggested that Trump's reckoning is coming, one that Bush swiftly felt via a high-profile firing from NBC as a result of the Trump tape.
While Trump has yet to respond to or tweet about Bush's op-ed, the reiteration of Trump's guilt isn't happening in a vacuum as Bush notes that there were actually "seven other guys present on the bus." Moreover, a former Trump aide confirmed on Sunday via NBC's Meet the Press that the tape was undoubtedly of the president.
As the nation comes to terms with a long, problematic history of sexual harassment and assault, Bush shifting the conversation back to Trump will hopefully - finally - deliver justice to the women harmed by Trump. "Today is about reckoning and reawakening," Bush wrote. "I hope it reaches all the guys on the bus."
The Cast of My Christmas Prince, Your New Favorite Lifetime Movie
When you've exhausted all of the Christmas movies on Netflix, what's a holiday movie-lover to do? Turn to Lifetime, of course. The network recently debuted a new love story just in time for the festive season, My Christmas Prince. The film stars Alexis Knapp as Samantha, a teacher who discovers her boyfriend, Alex, is actually the crown prince of Madelvia (what, never heard of it?) over Christmas break. If you found yourself wrapped up in their romance over the weekend, there's a chance you also found yourself wondering why you recognize the cast. From Knapp to the up-and-coming actor who plays Prince Alexander, we rounded up all the major players ahead.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi's Director Just Shared a 1-Word Spoiler
Let this serve as a spoiler warning for the most insignificant Star Wars spoiler of all time.
The premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi is almost here, but that hasn't stopped the internet from sucking up each and every potential spoiler and wild theory out there. The director of the second film in the new trilogy, Rian Johnson, understands this compulsive need and graciously leaked a spoiler of his own while stopping by Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday night. Is it the fate of General Hux? The true identity of Supreme Leader Snoke? Or even some more precious details about Porgs?
LOL, no. Instead, Johnson opted to share . . . drumroll please . . . THE FIRST WORD OF THE LAST JEDI. "It's we're," Johnson revealed. "W-E-apostrophe-R-E. It's huge!"
Now you'll have to excuse us while we go lay down and recover from this truly jarring bombshell, which Kimmel actually pointed out is two words. Incredible.
You Can't NOT Smile at These NYC Commuters Getting Down to Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow"
Play "Bodak Yellow" anywhere and a party will start, guaranteed. @iamcardib brings the people together. #nycsubway http://pic.twitter.com/Aafm05qsHN

The subway stations of New York City are typically filled with bustling commuters, frantic tourists, and occasional buskers, but for a few joyous moments on Dec. 3, the Times Square train station basically turned into a Cardi B dance party. In a now-viral video shared on Twitter, commuters are seen spontaneously breaking into dance as Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" plays in the background. Quite the sizable crowd gathered, with many seemingly forgetting all about rushing to catch their trains to stop and recite the lyrics to the hit. Honestly, the video is so pure and glorious that it makes me rethink my aversion to Times Square.
Soon after the heartwarming video was shared on social media, it went totally viral, garnering nearly 30,000 retweets and more than 75,000 likes. Plus, nearly 1,000 Twitter users couldn't help but offer up their comments on how Cardi B has the power to bring strangers together, even in the depths of NYC's subways. All in favor of making "Bodak Yellow" the new National Anthem, please say "aye."

Dad's Video of Himself Crying Over a Nintendo in 1988 Is Going Mega Viral
On Christmas morning, 1996, I opened the gift that would change my life forever: a Nintendo 64 gaming system, which came with the iconic Super Mario 64. Then, on March 8, 1997, I received Mario Kart 64, for my seventh birthday (while sporting a Goosebumps t-shirt and some seriously awful home-cut bangs - see horrendous photo below as proof). Both occasions are ones I remember well and fondly, and as a grown up Nintendo-lover who still plays Mario Kart weekly, they are moments in time that make me really nostalgic for the 90s and all the times I had playing Nintendo both alone and with friends or cousins.
Steve Bassoli, who has become an internet sensation basically overnight thanks to a 1988 home video he posted to YouTube of himself receiving a Nintendo as a child, surely understands this feeling of nostalgia well. Having found the 29-year-old footage after all this time, Steve decided to share the video in a small sub-Reddit in late November. After posting it to a larger sub-Reddit following the advice of his brother, Kyle - who is also featured in the old video, but isn't nearly as emotional or enthused as Steve - the video went completely viral, garnering over 1 million views in just about a day.
Steve said in an interview with a local news station in Connecticut that though he was very embarrassed upon uploading the video, he got a lot of positivity from people on the internet (because who doesn't love an '80s throwback?!).
Here's hoping that "Crying Nintendo Kid" has as legendary an impact on the world as Screaming Nintendo 64 Kid (not to be confused with me, Awkward Bangs Nintendo 64 Kid).
This Man Will Stop at Nothing to Get His Wife the Right Nail Polish Shade
When Brittney Johnson walked into her local drug store to pick up a few items, she saw an unusual sight in the cosmetics department: a man scouring the rows of nail polish with his phone glued to his ear, trying to find the exact shade of nail varnish his wife wanted.
After one click of the camera, Brittney posted the photo to Facebook - and to say it's gone totally viral would be an understatement. So far, the photo of this incredible man doing his wife a solid has racked up over 370,000 reactions and 267,000 shares at press time, and for good reason. After jokingly apologizing to the man for posting a photo of him from an unflattering angle, Brittney explained in her post why a simple act of kindness can actually make all the difference in a marriage.
"This man was on the phone with his wife, looking so hard for the EXACT olive-colored nail polish that she wanted. "I got this, I got this, I'll be home in a bit. Then he took a picture and sent it to her and she called to help him. He says 'OK, so I sent you the pic. Is that the right one? You wanna know the colors close to it? You just want all three colors?'"
And while Brittney is completely aware that swinging by the pharmacy for your wife is a small favor in the grand scheme of things, she acknowledges that it's the little bit of extra effort here and there that keep a marriage afloat.
"THIS IS ALL IT TAKES. Effort. Showing someone that whatever is special to them means something to you because they want it, or need it, or just really like it," she wrote. "Putting yourself a little out of your comfort zone. Letting yourself feel foolish sometimes for the sake of making your girl (or man) happy."
She also had some on-point thoughts when it came to keeping the fire alive in marriage, and spoiler alert: it has absolutely nothing to do with money. "It's still so cool to me . . . the idea of romance . . . not being flowers and cards and candy . . . but being time, and proof that you've actually listened, and [supported] the things that set that person's soul on fire. Marrying your best friend, being all for ONE person, that's still pretty cool. Don't settle for less than that, y'all. Somebody, somewhere, will love you enough to go shopping alone for your favorite nail polish."
Clear Some Freezer Space For These 20 Healthy Target Buys
There's no shame in your frozen game. Packing your freezer with minimally processed frozen fruits, veggies, meat, seafood, and ready-made meals (even pizza!) is a smart way to eat healthy. After all, they take little to no time to cook and rarely require you to dirty a pan. And while stores like Trader Joe's are tops when it comes to inventive and delicious frozen fare, so is Target. Of course, you already can spend hours browsing the different departments, but save some time to swing on over to its grocery department and pick up these good-for-you finds.
Meghan Markle Calls This Popular Beauty Oil Her "Cure-All"
Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced their engagement, we've been digging deep in the internet archives to find out all we can about the actress. The more we uncover, the more amazing she seems. The same goes for her beauty routine. She's been very vocal about being a product junkie, and the latest potion the web has uncovered that she loves is none other than tea tree oil.
In a 2014 Allure interview, Meghan said, "The one thing I cannot live without when I'm traveling is a small container of tea tree oil. It's not the most glamorous thing, but if you get a cut, a mosquito bite, a small breakout, no matter what it is, it's my little cure-all."
She's definitely onto something. "Tea tree oil is a great way to clear blemishes since its anti-bacterial and soothing," Angela Jia Kim, founder of Savor Beauty and Spas, told POPSUGAR. The all-natural ingredient has also been known to be comparable to five percent benzoyl peroxide for blemishes. That's on top of a ton of other uses, from treating athlete's foot to dandruff, dry skin, and more.
Ahead, get your royal glow on with tea tree products you can shop now.
Despite Sexual Misconduct Allegations, Trump Endorses Roy Moore For Senate
With the Alabama Senate special election on Dec. 12 fast approaching, it was only a matter of time before President Donald Trump came out with an explicit endorsement of Republican Senate hopeful Roy Moore, a candidate who has been marred by very serious allegations of sexual misconduct with a teenager.
In a tweet sent the morning of Dec. 4, Trump stated that "we need Republican Roy Moore to win" before listing a series of presidential campaign promises that Moore would, if elected, uphold in the state. Trump then added that Moore's Democratic rival, Doug Jones, is a "liberal puppet" who would "hurt our great Republican Agenda."
Democrats refusal to give even one vote for massive Tax Cuts is why we need Republican Roy Moore to win in Alabama. We need his vote on stopping crime, illegal immigration, Border Wall, Military, Pro Life, V.A., Judges 2nd Amendment and more. No to Jones, a Pelosi/Schumer Puppet!
- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 4, 2017
Putting Pelosi/Schumer Liberal Puppet Jones into office in Alabama would hurt our great Republican Agenda of low on taxes, tough on crime, strong on military and borders...& so much more. Look at your 401-k's since Election. Highest Stock Market EVER! Jobs are roaring back!
- Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) December 4, 2017
In response, Moore tweeted his thanks to the president for the endorsement, saying that upholding the "America First agenda will #MAGA."
Thankful for President Trump's support.
The America First agenda will #MAGA. Can't wait to help him #DrainTheSwamp.#ALSEN https://t.co/pYu9h7TYVN- Judge Roy Moore (@MooreSenate) December 4, 2017
While such off-the-cuff tweeting from Trump is entirely unsurprising, what is surprising is that the president is endorsing Moore for the first time since allegations that he had sex with a 14-year-old surfaced. Trump also did this without any caveats or qualifiers regarding his misconduct, unabashedly upholding a problematic candidate at a time when sexual harassment and sexual assault have consumed the news cycle.
Moreover, the problems surrounding Moore highlight another big issue: the political sphere still hasn't handled abject harassment in its midst. While media figures from Harvey Weinstein to Matt Lauer have lost their jobs and faced public rebuke, those accused of misconduct on the Hill - like Moore and Trump along with Senator Al Franken and Rep. John Conyers - remain in their positions, unscathed. This is undoubtedly a problem - and needs to be handled sooner rather than later, regardless of how difficult it may be.
Trump's full endorsement of Moore is in many ways unsurprising given the possibility that Trump will campaign for the Alabama Senate hopeful. The Dec. 12 election will reveal a lot of things about both the political landscape and the mindset of American voters, but as of now, the public will eagerly await the results as the Alabama Senate race appears to be anyone's game.

18 Years After Going Off the Air, Fran Drescher Is Ready For a Reboot of The Nanny
The Nanny has been off the air for nearly two decades now, which sounds like it was just the right amount of time for Fran Drescher to come around to a reboot of the beloved '90s sitcom. The show, which followed a sassy cosmetics saleswoman's new job as a nanny to three children of a wealthy British widower, launched Drescher to fame during its 1993 to 1999 run. Since the series finale, she's kept up a steady acting career and started the nonprofit Cancer Schmancer after surviving a bout of uterine cancer - but could another stint as Fran Fine be in the works? While sitting down with Closer Weekly, Drescher said that she hasn't ruled it out.
"As far as a reboot goes, I would be open to it if somebody wanted to do it - but if nobody wants to do it, then I'm currently trying to develop something else," she explained. Rounding up The Nanny's original cast might not be that difficult, either, considering Drescher is still close with a few of them. "I am in touch, definitely. Renée Taylor is a good friend of mine, Charlie [Charles Shaughnessy] is a good friend of mine," the 60-year-old actress continued. "Recently I reconnected with Nicholle Tom, and periodically I speak to everyone, but I'm very good friends with Charlie and Renée, for sure."
If the revival did happen, we'd likely see Fran and Maxwell Sheffield (Charles Shaughnessy) - who get married and welcome twins in the final episode - as the world's funniest grandparents. Then again, Shaughnessy told RadarOnline earlier this year that The Nanny should stay firmly in the past. "The whole concept of The Nanny is a nanny to these three kids. When those three kids are all grown up, there is no need for a nanny," he said. "Other than getting a bunch of the same actors 20 years later and 20 years older together again, I don't know how it would work."
Since reboots of everything from Roseanne to Jersey Shore are in the works, we wouldn't rule out a fresh take on The Nanny just yet.

Disney Is Reportedly Icing That 20-Minute Frozen Short Out of Coco Screenings
While Disney's Frozen instantly captured hearts back in 2013, the beloved film's spin-off Olaf's Frozen Adventure has had a bit of a tougher time. The animated "short," which actually clocks in at nearly 22 minutes and was originally intended as an ABC special, has been playing before showings of the studio's latest outing, Coco. Olaf's Frozen Adventure is unbearably long for both parents and kids who went to the theater expecting to see a few quick trailers before watching Miguel journey to the magical Land of the Dead. Unsurprisingly the short - which one Twitter user called "worst thing Disney has put its stamp of approval on in ages" - has been on the receiving end of a fair bit of backlash.
For anyone who has yet to see Coco, or just wants to take in the incredible story a few more times, we have good news: Disney is going to halt all showings of the much-maligned Olaf's Frozen Adventure beginning on Friday, Dec. 8. According to Mashable, "the request from Disney also asks that theaters use the newly freed-up time to hold extra screenings of Coco each day." Given how the actual movie doesn't even start until almost 40 minutes after the advertised time due to the length of Olaf's Frozen Adventure, hopefully the rumors are true. Fortunately Frozen 2 isn't set to premiere until the end of 2019, which means Disney has plenty of time to brainstorm new ideas for their next short.

Arizona Green Tea-Inspired Makeup Is a Thing, and We Are Thirsting For It
Before 7-Eleven sold makeup, it was our go-to for cheap culinary delights such as taquitos, Slim Jims, and - perhaps most ubiquitously - Arizona Iced Tea. The 99 cent beverage - America's favorite, if you believe Arizona's website - is beloved far and wide for its taste and thriftiness. So beloved, in fact, that one makeup enthusiast just dedicated an eye shadow look to the tea. And you know what? We're actually really into it. You could say that we're thirsting for such a style (sorry, had to).
Reddit user clore0x took to the site to show off her shadow, a mint-and-crimson look that resembles the brand's iconic cherry blossom packaging. You'd probably never guess that such a sophisticated look would be inspired by a soft drink.
My Arizona green tea addiction is just about as bad as my makeup addiction, here are the results. from MakeupAddiction
But it is, and we are applauding clore0x's dedication to living her most hydrated life. Now if you'll excuse us, we have to hit up our local 7-Eleven for some ice-cold lemon refreshment.

Here's How Flaxmeal Can Help With Weight Loss
Flaxseed is one staple you should definitely have in your kitchen. Aside from one tablespoon of flaxmeal offering your daily recommended dose of omega-3s, find out how these little seeds can help you lose weight.
Healthy Fats
Flaxmeal is a great source of omega-3s, which can reduce inflammation and promote bone health. But getting your fill of healthy fats can also contribute to the feeling of satiation after a meal. In the morning, sprinkle some on your oatmeal, yogurt, or smoothies so you stay full until lunchtime.
Holy Fiber!
One tablespoon of flaxmeal offers two grams of fiber, which is pretty decent considering you should aim for about eight to 10 grams per meal in order to lose weight. Certified dietitian Leslie Langevin, MS, RD, CD, of Whole Health Nutrition, recommends clients add this to meals because the fiber "can be helpful for filling power, which can definitely help with weight loss."
What is so great about flaxmeal is that when it gets wet, it expands, which makes your belly feel more full and makes it take longer to digest. Add a tablespoon to your lunchtime salad, stir it into soups or cooked whole grains, or sprinkle some on your pasta or roasted veggies. Be sure to opt for ground flaxseed (flaxmeal) because whole flaxseeds just pass right through the body undigested.
Egg Substitute
You can substitute eggs in your cookies, pancakes, and breads with a simple swap. For every egg, make a flax egg by mixing one tablespoon flaxmeal and three tablespoons water. The flax becomes gelatinous when soaked for five to 10 minutes, resembling the consistency of eggs. Compared to a regular egg, one flax egg is also almost half the calories, so if you bake a lot of muffins and protein bars, it's a huge plus when it comes to weight loss. As a bonus, a flax egg is also free of saturated fat and cholesterol.
Nope, You're Not Crazy - Your Bitmoji on Snapchat's Snap Map Do Change
If you can't stop opening up Snapchat and checking in on Snap Map, we don't blame you. The feature, which offers a fun, instant way to check in on what your friends are up to, is quickly becoming addictive. And with Bitmoji on the map, it's hard not to check back often. The Bitmoji (now called Actionmoji) on the map will change and show up riding in cars and airplanes or taking part in activities like building a sandcastle on the beach.
The Actionmoji change depending on a variety of factors, like your location, time of day, and how fast you're traveling. Most of the time, you'll see your Actionmoji simply standing wherever you are. But if you're near an airport, you might see yourself in a plane. Driving? You'll suddenly be in a car on Snap Map as well.
Ahead, see some of the Actionmoji we've spotted so far, and then try to get them yourself. And remember: you can control who can and cannot see your location on Snap Map, and if you don't open the app for a few hours, your Actionmoji will disappear off the map.
SNL Alum Says Working With "Moron" Host Donald Trump Was "Not Fun"
Way back when Donald Trump was a presidential hopeful in 2015, he hosted Saturday Night Live - exactly one year before Election Day. Taran Killam, who once impersonated Trump and later joined him on stage when he hosted, was stunningly candid about the now president in a recent interview with Brooklyn magazine.
Killam responded to a host of questions about his post-SNL career and joining the cast of Hamilton right after Mike Pence famously attended the show (and heard a compassionate message from the cast). President Trump was especially incensed by the incident, to which Killam replied with the utmost honesty. "Yeah, well the president is a moron," Killam told the magazine.
Later in the interview, Killam elaborated on what it was like to work with Trump on the show, and you might not be surprised by how difficult he said it was. "It was not fun, and most of the cast and writers were not excited to have him there," Killam said. "I didn't get the feeling that he was excited to be there, and it felt like a move for ratings from both sides."
Perhaps most unsurprising of all, Killam revealed how the president . . . struggled to read his lines. "What you see is what you get with him, really. I mean, there was no big reveal," Killam added. "He struggled to read at the table read, which did not give many of us great confidence. Didn't get the jokes, really. He's just a man who seems to be powered by bluster."
We're pretty sure Trump would write off Killam's account of his time on the show as "fake news."
Women of Color Speak Out on What Victoria's Secret Did So, So Right at This Year's Show
Image Source: Getty / Frazer Harrison
It's no secret that Victoria's Secret has been criticized for not being diverse enough when it comes to selecting models for its campaigns and annual fashion show. But in recent years, that has been changing. For example, at the 2016 event in Paris, Jasmine Tookes was the third black model to wear the Fantasy Bra. And this year, Lais Ribeiro, a Brazilian model with medium skin tone, is wearing it for the Shanghai show. It seems that 2017 is the brand's most inclusive year yet!
Let's go over some stats. There are 55 models in the show, representing 20 different countries, and almost half of them are women of color. The roster includes the contracted Angels like Adriana Lima, Lily Aldridge, and Taylor Hill. But it also has everyone from Alecia Morais, a deep-skinned model with natural hair, to the fair-and-freckled redhead Alexina Graham. And there are five Asian women, including Xiao Wen, who is of Chinese descent. It would be difficult to look at this cast and not be able to find at least one woman who represents you.
"This year, Victoria's Secret is definitely one for history, because everyone has someone on the runway who they can say, 'She's from my country,' or 'She looks like me.' It means a lot to young girls watching the show."
The models themselves agree. Two of them are associated with Fenty Beauty, a fashion and beauty label created by Rihanna that is celebrated for being incredibly diverse. These Victoria's Secret models are Leomie Anderson, who starred in Fenty's beauty campaign, and Aiden Curtiss, who walked in the brand's latest New York Fashion Week show. Both are women of color and feel that Victoria's Secret has done its job this year to make the show diverse.
"I've been saying to everyone how amazing it is that I am looking around and seeing all of my friends - and girls I haven't even met yet," Aiden told me backstage at the hair and makeup test in Shanghai. "They're all so diverse, and I love that."
Image Source: Getty / Frazer Harrison
Leomie echoed that same sentiment. "It means so much to me, because this year I have been a part of so many diverse campaigns," she said. "It has just been an amazing experience to see so many of my friends chosen for the show. They're all so unique and beautiful."
Image Source: Getty / Frazer Harrison
Cindy Bruna, a woman of color who is walking in the show for her fifth time, noted how this season is different. "I am impressed," she said. "When we heard about the casting, everyone was excited, because the diversity was so represented. I am really proud to be part of it and happy for my girls."
But does that mean Victoria's Secret hit all of its markets? According to Leomie, yes, the brand did. "Everyone wants to feel represented on the runway," she said. "This year, Victoria's Secret is definitely one for history, because everyone has someone on the runway who they can say, 'She's from my country,' or 'She looks like me.' It means a lot to young girls watching the show."
Image Source: Getty / Frazer Harrison
In addition to casting this amazing pool, Victoria's Secret is customizing the beauty looks to enhance their natural hair types and blending bespoke lip colors to complement different complexions.
Lead hairstylist Anthony Nadar confirmed that, yes, many models will have the traditional sexy bombshell waves. These are created with blowouts, hair extensions (when needed), and curling irons - a combination that doesn't represent all textures and can also damage natural hair. But those who do have natural hair will get the option to rock it on the runway.
"If girls have got great curly hair, we're not blowing them out," he said. "We are just enhancing what they've already got and making it a better version."
At the hair and makeup test, I watched two stylists work Morrocanoil Curl Cream ($13) - Aiden's favorite - into her tight curls. They diffused it and went over some pieces with a thin curling iron to mimic her natural spiral. "They're making sure there are no frizzy pieces," she noted.
Aiden explained that wearing her natural hair for the show is an empowering moment. "While I prefer my hair straight, I love that they're supporting us wearing our hair natural because a lot of shows before - especially high-fashion - prefer when girls straighten their hair and damage it," she said. "It adds to beauty ideals, too. A lot of black girls or mixed girls feel like they have to have a certain look, like Eurocentric. At least for me, growing up, I felt like I should have straight hair and I still kind of feel it because I have been brought up that looking like that is beautiful."
In the past, models such as Maria Borges have been sent down the catwalk with natural hair. (And Maria is back this year!) For the Shanghai show, you can expect more natural texture and curls than in past seasons.

On the cosmetics side, lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux said: "It's about respecting every single unique beauty and having tools to make each girl look their best."
To complement a subtly smoky eye, he and his team will be using a handful of Victoria's Secret Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stains ($8, originally $14) to create bespoke nude lips. A rosy beige color called Adored is everyone's base shade. Then, the makeup team will leave it as the main hue or blend it with Perfection (a dusty rose), Magnetic (a soft pink), or even Love (a light mauve) to get the color to complement their skin tone. It should be noted that models wearing the Pink collection will have slightly pinker lips.

"We have 55 girls with different skin tones and complexions, so we want to make the best of it," Pecheux noted. "We don't want the VS girls to look identical. They have been specifically chosen because of their unique beauty so we want to keep that. We don't want soldiers."
Tune into the show on Nov. 28 at 10 p.m. ET on CBS to see this gorgeous beauty moment come to life on the 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion show runway, filmed in Shanghai.

Here's How to Stick to a Workout Plan Once and For All
Faced with a seemingly endless supply of trendy new workouts that all promise a better body and improved health, choosing the best one can seem overwhelming. As a doctor, I'm setting the record straight: the single best exercise program is the one that you stick with. The simplest way to do this, of course, is to focus on physical activity that you actually enjoy and avoid anything that you hate (even if every Victoria's Secret model swears by it). But beyond common sense, there are plenty of science-backed methods for sticking to an exercise program. If you've ever had grand plans of overhauling your fitness routine only to find yourself returning to your couch three weeks later, these techniques are for you.
Shorten your workouts.
Though it sounds counterintuitive, focusing on shorter bouts of exercise has distinct advantages over longer workouts. In a study among young women who were asked to start an exercise program, those who were assigned to multiple 10-minute workouts throughout the day stayed more committed than women who were asked to complete one continuous workout of up to 40 minutes. In fact, the shorter-bout group logged more total workout time and exercised more days per week compared to the longer workout group. Rest assured: the cumulative effect of exercising in short bouts has the same physical benefits as longer workouts, both in terms of weight loss and overall heart health.
Believe in yourself.
Decades of studies on exercise psychology have consistently identified self-efficacy as the most important predictor of exercise adherence. Self-efficacy is defined as the belief in one's ability to succeed in a specific goal or behavior change, much like the "I think I can" motto of the little engine that could. Self-efficacy is, thankfully, not an inborn trait but a learned skill that can be developed through achieving small successes over time. When starting a new exercise program, set yourself up for small wins and celebrate them. Focus on the better night's sleep you may get after just one workout instead of the weight you hope to lose by the end of the month. Another way to improve self-efficacy is to find a role model you identify with who has achieved her fitness goals. Research shows this can vicariously bolster your own self-efficacy.
Make it social.
Though it's not surprising, the dramatic effect of social support on exercise is worth emphasizing. In an analysis of 44 studies on exercise adherence, researchers found that it was highest when it involved a group, like a sports team or a dance group. Drop-in fitness classes were associated with slightly lower adherence, but they were still superior to solo, home-based exercise programs. Even if home-based exercise is your only feasible option, you can still harness the power of social support by recruiting a family member or friend to work out with you or harnessing the power of an online community. Some studies even suggest that simply discussing your plans to exercise with a healthcare provider, mentor, or friend can increase your likelihood of following through with it.
Adopt other healthy habits.
A handful of studies have demonstrated that people who prioritize eating a healthy diet are more likely to be active. The theory is that engaging in one health-promoting behavior tends to inspire others, and although the link is strongest between healthy eating habits and exercise, it's likely that any healthy behavior - like getting a full night's sleep or even flossing your teeth - can increase your probability of following through with exercise.
Keep your expectations in check.
If you expect to see a physical transformation within the first few weeks of starting an exercise program, you may be less likely to keep at it. Studies of new exercisers have found that those with unrealistic expectations of physical change tended to give up when their hopes were not immediately met. Health psychologists have dubbed this the "false hope syndrome." To avoid it, remember that noticeable physical changes from a new exercise routine can take months to develop. And if your goal is weight loss, it's important to know that exercise alone - without dietary changes - typically isn't enough. What you can expect from exercise, however, are short-term improvements in mood and sleep and, in the long term, a dramatically reduced risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, dementia, and several different types of cancer. How's that for motivation?

Makeup Artists Share Their Favorite Everything-Proof Primers
As with many things in life, good makeup typically starts with a good foundation. And by foundation, we mean what you put on skin as part of your skincare routine before even getting to your actual foundation to ensure that it, and everything that follows, goes on smooth and stays there.
That's why more and more makeup artists are relying on primer to cover up uneven skin and keep excessive oil at bay.
